A new glitch in Destiny 2 provides for (theoretically) infinite ammo for the “microphone rocket launcher” Wardcliff Coil. The rocket launcher has already been noticed for other glitches. Will Bungie take action?

Creative Guardians have found a way to break the ammo capacity of the Wardcliff Coil. With a trick, theoretically infinite rockets can be fired. Moreover, the glitch is quite easy to reproduce and works on both PC and consoles.

Titan + Wardcliff Coil = Unlimited Fun?

For this glitch, you only need the Wardcliff Coil, a Titan, and the Barricade. However, we will skip a step-by-step guide at this point.

As can be seen in the image above, the ammo capacity of this rocket launcher is 124 shots. Enough to send the Leviathan raid boss Calus to oblivion in no time with six people.

Is the glitch “gamebreaking”? At least in PvE content, it is likely to significantly simplify some encounters. In PvP, this glitch probably won’t play a role.

This rocket launcher has actually been noted for being “glitchy” elsewhere: it can refill the ammo of other power weapons. The “blame” lies with the special nature of this weapon.

The Wardcliff Coil’s inventory is unique

The Wardcliff Coil operates differently from other rocket launchers. Although only 1 shot is displayed, the Wardcliff Coil fires 8 rockets with each shot. This is not unusual; fusion rifles also fire multiple projectiles per shot.

However, the Wardcliff Coil can be interrupted when firing the rockets. The unfired rockets remain in the magazine. The game must be able to compute this. For this reason, the “one” shot in the magazine is not correct. It is 8 shots per salvo; therefore, the ammo capacity of the rocket launcher is actually 40 instead of 5 shots.

This fact allows other power weapons to be fully reloaded after a weapon switch. The special nature of the weapon’s inventory is likely also related to the current glitch. Bungie could resolve this issue by preventing the firing process of the rockets from being interrupted.

However, this would remove one of the exotic features of this weapon. As we are now experiencing the second glitch associated with the Wardcliff Coil, Bungie will likely have to react.

This Guardian masters challenges solo in Destiny 2, which are meant for six Guardians. Impressive!

At the beginning of the Leviathan raid, you enter the Castle. In this entrance area, you must open the gates to the various raid encounters by hammering relics into the corresponding devices:

This castle phase is not a big challenge in a six-man group – it is well-suited for warming up for the raid. Usually, three or four Guardians stand by the relic devices and defend them against the liberators, while the remaining Guardians steal the relics from the “standard bearers”. Once three relics are in their place, the next raid phase opens.

Meanwhile, one takes care of the council members and various adds. In a well-rehearsed group, where every member knows what to do, this task is completed quickly.

Solo, however, the castle phase is (nearly) impossible, as there are too many things to take care of at once. Getting new relics while having to defend the existing relics – how is that even possible?

This brings awe with the solo run of Esoterickk, who has always drawn attention with impressive performances in the past. Here you see the new video for the raid entrance:

How is this possible?

Esoterickk mastered this phase on PC. It is played at the entrance to the Gardens of Delight (Dog phase). The Guardian states that he is not the first player to attempt this. The strategy comes from “bresko91”.

The strategy looks like this:

• Five different entrances from which the standard liberators can come must be defended.
• During the few pauses when none spawn, run to the standard bearer and deal as much damage as possible. This is repeated until he is dealt with.
• The most important weapon is the Wardcliff Coil rocket launcher. This takes down a standard liberator with one shot, which guarantees to drop power ammo. This way, you have power ammo available constantly.

  

• The Guardian is a Voidwalker Warlock who uses the “Devour” skill. This grants him the Devouring perk, which is important here.
• Devour should always be active – this allows you to gain health regeneration for each kill. Thus, he stays alive among all the adds.
• Additionally, this solo run requires practice – one must know what to do and when.

In Destiny 2 there is new information about the “Curse of Osiris” expansion.

Fresh information about the first DLC has come to light via the Italian gaming site everyeye. In a detailed interview, they spoke with Bungie’s Dave Matthews about the contents of Curse of Osiris, the activities on Mercury, PvP, and the Vex.

We summarize the most exciting statements in this overview. Note: Spoilers ahead!

Mercury Activities, the Lighthouse, and Brother Vance

In Curse of Osiris, the Guardian’s journey goes to Mercury. According to Matthews, players can expect the same activities on this planet as on the other worlds in Destiny 2 – public events, Lost Sectors, adventures, missions, and a new social hub.

This social hub is the Lighthouse, which Guardians could only access in Destiny 1 with a flawless ticket during the Trials of Osiris. In Destiny 2, it will be accessible to all Guardians who purchase the expansion.

At the Lighthouse, there is an NPC, a vendor. As it has now been revealed, it is Brother Vance. He was already the contact person for the Trials of Osiris in Destiny 1. Brother Vance will not only send you on adventures on Mercury in Destiny 2, he will also send you through a large portal that leads to an area called “Infinite Forest.”

The Infinite Forest is a Vex simulation that exists beyond time and space. Brother Vance wants you to delve into the deepest depths of the Infinite Forest. This way, you will discover what happened to Osiris.

Information about Osiris and the Vex

Osiris was the mentor of Ikora Rey until he was exiled from the Last City. While studying the Vex in exile, he entered the Infinite Forest and disappeared within it, says Matthews. What exactly happened to him since then remains unknown.

Since Osiris is a “Vex expert” and a great danger in the form of the Vex is imminent with Curse of Osiris, Ikora Rey wants you to find Osiris. He is the last hope. On your journey, you will learn what happened to Osiris.

According to Matthews, we will not only learn the story of Osiris but also a lot of background information about the Vex. It will be revealed how they act, how they think, how they can exist beyond time and space, how their machines function, and how the Vex try to achieve their goals.

Now comes an interesting statement: During the expansion, we will get to know different aspects of this mysterious race in different times. This underscores the assumption that the Guardians in Curse of Osiris will travel into the past and/or future. What exactly this means, we will only see later.

By the way: Matthews does not provide further details about the “raid activity.” He refers to the livestreams in November. Then, questions surrounding the raid activity will be answered.

In the MMO shooter Destiny 2, the Trials of the Nine start today, November 10. Which map will be played, what is the game mode?

Today the kickoff begins for the second Trials of the Nine on PC. Guardians on PS4 and Xbox One have been able to play this PvP event before, but they too had to skip the Trials in recent weeks due to a bizarre emote glitch. Today, the second Trials start after this glitch disaster.

As a reminder, here are the entry requirements:

• Complete the story campaign
• Master the “Call to Arms” milestone at least once

The today’s Trials start at 6 PM. They end on November 14 at 10 AM. The map being played is Infinity. The game mode is Countdown.

What are the Trials of the Nine with the Countdown mode?

This time you will compete in the Trials in the “Countdown” mode. It is a round-based and objective-based PvP mode.

You will face off in teams of four, with each round alternating the offensive and defensive roles between the teams:

• If you are the offensive team, you need to plant a bomb at one of two possible locations and defend it until it detonates.
• If you are the defensive team, you must prevent a bomb from being planted, or defuse the bomb in time.

The team that successfully executes its role wins a round. You can also win a round by completely defeating the opposing team. A limited number of revives by team members is available. The team that first wins 6 rounds wins the match.

After each match, you will receive “Trials of the Nine” tokens, which you can redeem for Trials Engrams with the emissary. Additionally, you will receive extra rewards for 3, 5, and 7 match victories. If you achieve a flawless run (7 wins without a loss), you can collect an extra bonus. If you have 3 match losses on the ticket, you must start over.

In the Trials of the Nine, there is no matchmaking. You must assemble your team of 4 players yourself. It is also a “locked-loadout playlist.” This means you cannot change your weapons and armor pieces until you leave the playlist.

How good is The Prospector in Destiny 2? We take a look at the perks and see what the exotic grenade launcher can do in PvE and PvP.

At the launch of Destiny 2, two exotic grenade launchers are available: The Lion’s Roar and The Prospector. However, The Lion’s Roar is considered an energy weapon and not a power weapon like the other grenade launchers, making The Prospector currently the only “real” exotic grenade launcher in the game.

This exotic has a remarkably elegant design that stands out immediately. It comes from the weapon manufacturer Tex Mechanica, known for weapons in Destiny 1 such as The Last Word or The Chaperone.

Can The Prospector do anything?

There are several locations to find The Prospector:

• Random drop from all sources that can drop exotic engrams
• Xur: Sometimes the Agent of the Nine has the weapon, like this weekend

Xur sells the weapon up to a maximum power level of 270. It costs 29 legendary shards from him. If you have ever obtained The Prospector but have already dismantled it, you can get it back anytime for 10 legendary shards from the collection in the vault.

What makes The Prospector in Destiny 2 special? – Perks

The Prospector is an exotic grenade launcher that deals Arc damage. The rate of fire is 165, and the blast radius is small. The magazine holds 8 rounds, making it quite large, and speed, stability, and handling are top-notch.

These are the special perks:

• Excavation: Hold the trigger to fire grenades. Release to detonate all live grenades at once.
• Fully automatic firing system: If you hold down the trigger, the weapon will fire automatically.

The combination of these perks sounds interesting: You can fire the grenades quickly and fully automatically, and when you release the trigger, you unleash a true fireworks display of explosions. But is this really that practical?

How good is The Prospector in PvE and PvP?

The grenade launchers currently have a poor standing in Destiny 2. In the power slot, Guardians prefer rocket launchers, fusion rifles, or swords. The grenade launchers cannot compete with these weapon types.

In PvE, The Prospector performs quite well. The high rate of fire combined with the large magazine allows you to deal a lot of damage in a short time. However, only if you hit the target directly. If you miss the target and the grenade bounces off the ground (grenades also bounce off ships), you deal no or very little damage.

The Prospector is relatively easy to control despite being fully automatic, allowing you to hit the enemies accurately. It is best against thick bosses that move little and can be pumped with damage from close range.

The purpose of the Excavation perk with this weapon is unclear. It would be cool if the grenades stuck where you shot them, creating controlled explosions. However, the grenades bounce off, so they are already scattered in all directions by the time you can detonate them together. Essentially, The Prospector can only be played like a fully automatic shotgun – the weapon is only useful if you land direct body shots at close range and deal a lot of damage.

In PvP, The Prospector is not useful. Every other grenade launcher performs just as well – or poorly. It is not worth sacrificing the exotic slot for this.

Conclusion: If you do not have the weapon yet, you can buy it for your collection at Xur. It definitely looks stylish and makes an impression visually. In PvE, The Prospector is a solid damage dealer, but there are better alternatives for the power slot.
