The World of Warcraft has turned one year older again. This time, there are special world bosses and a cool new pair of glasses!
In Azeroth, there is a special event again, as Blizzard’s MMORPG World of Warcraft has turned one year older once more. However, instead of just sending a small item in the game, there are several special challenges that the heroes can face. We provide you with a quick overview.
From November 16, 2017, to the early morning of November 30, 2017, World of Warcraft officially celebrates its 13th birthday.
As in the previous year, during this time, there will be a handful of items available for Timeworn Badges. The items from last year (like the corgi pet, an “Inflatable Thunderfury Dummy” or the “Edwin VanCleef Costume”) will be complemented this year by the Bronze-tinted Sunglasses (see title image), which no collector should miss.
As a priest Thunderfury on your back? For a few days, it’s finally no longer a dream!
A Celebration for Transmog Collectors thanks to “new old” World Bosses
New in 2017 with the 13th WoW Anniversary is a quest that you can take from Historian Llore in Stormwind (coordinates: 85, 25) or Historian Ju’pa in Orgrimmar (coordinates: 35, 75). The quest “The Originals” requires players to defeat three world bosses that were present in the classic World of Warcraft.
You heard that right: For the duration of the event, the ancient world bosses are available again!
Lord Kazzak in the Blasted Lands
Azuregos in Azshara
The Nightmare Dragons in Feralas, Duskwood, Hinterlands, and Ashenvale
These bosses drop equipment with an item level of 900 and also leave behind some special items that are no longer available otherwise. If you want to spruce up your wardrobe, you should definitely visit all these bosses.
The completion of the quest is rewarded with some Timeworn Badges, which can also be exchanged for the aforementioned rewards.
What do you think of this birthday event? A cool preview of “Classic” WoW? Or not your thing at all?
The discussions in the forums surrounding WoW Classic are tense. Blizzard is considering drastic measures.
Since the announcement of WoW Classic, that is, special servers where World of Warcraft runs only in its original version until shortly before “The Burning Crusade”, there has been much discussion. The fans’ opinions on what such a Classic server should look like are widely divergent.
A large part of the players believes that nothing should be changed about Classic – that is, no adjustments to the classes and all the errors and bugs from back then would simply be part of the game.
However, these players were not good at articulating their opinions objectively. Numerous insults and hostilities can be found in the relevant forum posts.
Classic fans are cutting themselves
In the end, Community Manager Ornyx had enough. As the discussions continued to escalate and the comments became more personal insults and less about objective debate, Ornyx pulled the emergency brake. The thread was closed and an indirect warning was issued:
“We are seeing a significant increase in necessary forum moderation and sanctions for insults and toxicity from players participating in the forum without an active subscription. (…) If it is the best decision for our community, I am not averse to flipping the switch back and making this forum available only for subscribers.”
Ornyx emphasizes that he knows that many Classic fans may not be playing “Legion” at the moment, but since a large part of the inappropriate posts came from “non-subscribers”, he felt forced to take this step – the burden of forum moderation and account penalties became too great.
Classic is definitely a passionate topic that is being debated heatedly. But here, many players probably did not see the boundaries and have now cut themselves. Because if they do not behave and are excluded from the discussion, “Classic” could indeed become what they did not want.
Tonight there will be the first live stream about the future of Destiny 2 and the DLC “Curse of Osiris” on Twitch. We will be live-ticking in German.
Curse of Osiris is the first DLC for Destiny 2 and is expected to release simultaneously for PS4, Xbox One and PC on December 5th. Likely in the evening around the Weekly Reset, which Bungie is moving from morning to evening. December 5th is Tuesday in three weeks.
Until that time, there will be a live stream from Bungie about Curse of Osiris every Wednesday. But: Next week, the live stream will already be on Tuesday. Bungie wants to avoid Thanksgiving on November 23rd, when Americans traditionally eat turkey. For whatever reason?
Today marks the beginning of the trilogy of live streams for Destiny 2 with “New Ways to play”.

19:45: It is mid-November. It is cold. Thousands have the flu and Destiny 2 has an endgame problem. Great conditions for another live ticker at Mein MMO.
19:57: Just before the stream starts, about 22,000 people are watching – let’s see how high that goes.
20:02: The live stream will probably focus mainly on the new locations of “Curse of Osiris.” The new social space “The Lighthouse.” Soon everyone can go there – in Destiny 1 you had to follow a streamer and successfully beg to get pulled through the Trials. By the way, the viewer count is almost 69,000. That’s quite remarkable.
Live ticker for the 1st Twitch stream “Curse of Osiris”
20:07: Community Manager DeeJ with beanie. Christine Thompson, the lady, is an author, was previously the Chief Writer for Star Trek Online, and for the DLC she is the “Narrative Lead,” something like Story Chief. Dave Matthews has been with Bungie for 8 years and is the Art Director of Curse of Osiris.
20:10: Small cinematic. It seems to, as expected, focus against the Vex and revolves around time travel. The place “The Infinite Forest,” which is the focus, looks quite similar to “The Glass Chamber.” The Vex are searching for something there, and Osiris wants to stop them.
DLC takes place months after Destiny 2 – Vex in focus
20:14: The expansion is meant to be a journey, turning around secrets. It will provide players with background information and delve deeper into the Vex: What do the Vex want, what are their plans? The DLC takes place “some months” after the defeat of Ghaul.
20:16: The idea is that the awakening of the Traveler has triggered a wave of light, which the Vex have been waiting for on Mercury. This sets in motion the events that will lead the player Guardian to Mercury.
20:18: Osiris comes from the Middle East, so he is Arab and is voiced by Oded Fehr, an Israeli actor. Osiris uses Vex technology that he has tailored to himself.
20:20: A significant role is played by Osiris’ ghost Sagira. She is the first ghost that players hear. She has her own personality and opinions: She believes that Guardians take themselves too seriously. Morena Baccarin voices the ghost – we already had an article about that. Team comment: Bungie has a Firefly fetish. They want to collect all the actors. Baccarin played, just like the original voice actors of Cayde-6 and Ikora, in the short-lived sci-fi series Firefly.
20:24: Brother Vance is looking forward to seeing Osiris. It’s like a disciple meeting his prophet. Osiris feels somewhat uncomfortable with the “I have disciples” thing.
20:26: Phew, this will be a PR stream. No signals that there has been any criticism of Destiny 2 so far. Now there’s concept art that has a strong Egyptian influence.
Higher replay value through combinations in the Infinite Forest
20:28: The activities in the Infinite Forest are designed to play out somewhat differently each time. Each time, the activities should consist of a combination of different, handcrafted elements.
20:30: A sort of “nightmare version” of the future – nothing left, except for Vex. The Lighthouse of the present looks more inhabitable and friendly than it did in Destiny 1. The Lighthouse will have secrets to pursue. It will also serve as a central location for accepting or turning in quests.
Power level rises to 330 – 335 with mods with Curse of Osiris in Destiny 2
20:34: First new gameplay info. The Power Level rises to 330 without mods, 335 with mods. Player level rises to 25. Brother Vance will have his own engrams.
20:36: In a side note, DeeJ mentions that Dan Miller – Game Director of Curse of Osiris will come to the stream next week and provide more information. I had thought until now that Chris Barret was the Game Director. He was the one who announced gameplay changes. Hopefully, that doesn’t mean that things will be significantly delayed.
New planet: Mercury
20:39: Light firefights against Cabal on Mercury. There is a new public event on Mercury. It is said to be the largest so far.
20:41: Lost sectors will not be marked on the map until the campaign has been completed. Then everyone will see them on the map as well.
Infinite Forest – the new zone
20:42: Now we are heading into the Infinite Forest. This is the Vex area inside the planet, a place where the present, past, and future blur together. For all the criticism: Destiny 2 looks good already. You can probably leap into a beautiful past, into an alternate version of present Mercury, or a terrible future. It aligns with the current general trend: Past super – future terrible.
Now come the changes: Heroic Strike playlist is coming back
20:46: Oh, surprise. There are indeed changes: The Heroic Strike playlist is returning. The question “What is new raid content?” is answered, and DeeJ is hovering the cursor over Leviathan. Looks like there was something to the rumors.
New raid wing for Leviathan
20:49: There is a new raid wing – it is called “Raid Lair” – Leviathan, Eater of Worlds. A new part of the raid with puzzles, bosses. The old raid will be scaled up to 300 power. The raid wing, the raid lair, will be shorter than a “normal raid” but will have one boss and challenges. As rewards: weapons, armor, and cosmetic items.
20:53: In the 2nd expansion there probably won’t be a “new raid” but another raid wing from the Leviathan raid. Yeah, that’s exactly what we speculated last week: DLCs do not bring new raids, nor do they bring back old ones, but they expand the existing only raid.
20:56: The new raid wing will not open immediately, but a little later than the launch.
20:59: Well, the stream is ending. A few questions were certainly answered – for a DLC it is relatively much that Bungie offers us compared to what was available in 2014. Nevertheless, many critics would probably have wished for different information and a different approach. At the end of the stream, there were over 100,000 people listening.

Marvel Heroes is closing. The action MMO for PC, PS4, and Xbox One no longer has a license from Marvel and must shut down. The game is dead.
In recent weeks, fans of Marvel Heroes have noticed: Something is up. The game has missed four weekly updates, which was otherwise known for its regular patches and events. Nothing came even for Halloween.
Overall, the action brawler has fallen into a crisis. PC players have dropped off since the focus shifted to PS4 and Xbox One. The free-to-play game was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only in June this year.
Just now, the news from Marvel came via the US site Kotaku, that they are ending the collaboration with Gazillion Entertainment and that Marvel Heroes will be closed. Marvel does not provide reasons.
They thank the community for playing and announce that they will provide further information as soon as it becomes available. Marvel is a subsidiary of Disney.
Problems with the CEO of the company? Fans called for a boycott
We reported two weeks ago on the critical situation at Marvel Heroes. At that time, it was already noticeable that updates were missing, and problems were emerging.
Interestingly, the CEO of the company came under public scrutiny. He had a bad reputation for allegedly behaving inappropriately towards others, particularly women. It was heading towards “sexual harassment.”
These allegations were brought to light by a former high-ranking employee of the game. He stated that many in higher levels of the studio were aware of this but kept it quiet for fear of issues with Marvel. They were afraid they could lose their license.
Some fans had therefore called for Marvel to be informed about the problems. However, it is unclear whether this was truly the trigger for this drastic step. It may also be that strategic considerations are at play or some corporate decision. Perhaps the numbers had simply become too weak.
In any case, the problems seem to have become apparent in recent weeks. Now it is official: The action MMO is no more, yet everything seemed so good just a year ago. Marvel Heroes was considered a success story for a long time under the Diablo father David Brevik.
For fans, there is still a glimmer of hope: The US site Kotaku reportedly received the statement exclusively via email from a Disney official. So far, other sites have not been able to verify the accuracy of the information.
Other sites have since been able to verify the closure.
Update: On December 31, the servers of Marvel Heroes will be closed
Update 16.11.: It is now known when the servers of Marvel Heroes will close: On December 31, 2017, it will happen. Then the servers of Marvel Heroes on PS4, Xbox One, and PC will be closed forever. The possibility to spend money in the game will soon be removed.
Marvel Heroes will be completely free to play during the remaining time. Gazillion will announce when they switch to this “twilight period.”
We will report on the background at MeinMMO as soon as we have more information:
Battlefront 2 is criticized for its loot boxes. To unlock game content without real money, you have to grind for quite a long time. Now, a player calculated that it should take 4,500 hours to unlock everything. But isn’t that actually a good thing?
Battlefront II has been heavily criticized by many players for days. A shitstorm is raging on Reddit about the supposed Pay2Win loot boxes. Many players are also angry because recently you had to grind for 40 hours to unlock famous characters like Darth Vader. However, this has been revised downwards.
In the meantime, players have calculated how long it takes to unlock all content.
“Loot box grind in a full-price game just doesn’t work!”
According to the current calculation, it takes 4,528 hours to earn the 3,111 loot boxes needed for all game features without spending real money. The basis for the calculation is that the player already owns all Star Cards and they are at level 3. In this model, the player has used all one-time rewards for levels and challenges to bring all Star Cards to level 3.
Alternatively, you can also buy all the boxes with real money. You would then need 248,880 crystals, the real money currency of Battlefront 2. If you buy these crystals only in cost-effective $100 packages, the total cost comes to $2,100!
This is unacceptable for many players. After all, they have already purchased the game at a high price, so they expect to have a large part, if not all, of the game’s features immediately available.
Other users criticize that you only make progress through loot boxes, and the whole game is designed around acquiring these boxes. An alternative way to access content, such as via achievements or challenging missions, would have been acceptable to them.
Grind = Content!
Many players see no problem in the grind for loot boxes at all. 4,500 hours of grind means 4,500 hours of motivation and fun! For many players, a game is only interesting if they can dig into the grind and work for something. If all content were available right away, many players would find the game boring.
An example is Destiny 2, which has significantly less grind than its predecessor. Instead of grinding for weeks for the “God Roll” on weapons, which has been removed in Destiny 2, many Guardians have already completed their collections. Therefore, they have no motivation to log in regularly now.
Battlefront II – Many thousands of hours of content or miserable grind?
But how do you see it? Does a proper grind simply belong to a good online game, and is 4,500 hours of hunting for loot an excellent reason to play Battlefront 2 for months? Or do such numbers immediately kill your desire for the game? Participate in our survey and let us know!
What builds are used by Whisperer, Blader, Dark Lord or Blader in MU Legend? We have looked at the rankings and show you in our Mu Legend Skill Guide how you can successfully play solo.
For a few days now, you can prove your Hack’N’Slay skills in an MMO environment in MU Legend. You can choose from four different classes. But which builds are successful?
MU Legend Builds – Which are strong?
The strongest builds of an MMO or ARPG become clear in the first weeks after release. In the early stages, players try out various builds and see how they perform in the rankings.
Since MU Legend has only been in open beta for a few days, there are still no “must-have” builds that everyone needs. Players continue to experiment with which skills work well and which don’t in the mythical dungeons.
The latest Overwatch hero Moira has been available to play for some time. Fan reactions have been largely positive.
For just over a week, Overwatch players have been able to try Moira on the PTR. The new character is a support hero at heart, but can also deal solid damage. Unlike other healers (Mercy, Ana, Zenyatta), Moira must stay close to her allies to spray them with her healing beam.
The unique thing about Moira is that she also needs to deal damage if she wants to achieve consistently good healing performance – and this type of playstyle is well received by players. It requires constant rethinking, continual movement, and is always a dance with death, while stealing life from enemies to improve her own healing.
Most players seem to like this quite a bit. Moira is a healer with a high skill cap – meaning there’s a lot of room for improvement by the player over time. To be truly effective, one must demonstrate a clever mix of stealth and daring to be an asset to their own team.
However, many players also have concerns that Moira might become a disadvantage in games with “randoms.” Since Moira is a pretty cool character with her “superlaser”, some fear that many will only play her to deal damage, sending the wrong signal to the team.
Overall, it seems like Moira is exactly what players have wished for: a support character who must actively participate in the fight and is at the front lines. Essentially, Moira is a healing melee fighter – and that’s something Overwatch has been missing.
There is still no official release date for Moira. However, fans hope that she will appear in time for the “Free Weekend” this weekend.
What is your first impression of Moira? Are you looking forward to playing the new hero yourself soon? Or does the creepy scientist leave you completely cold?
Now that Blizzard’s strategy classic Starcraft 2 is free to play, it is convenient for Blizzard to elegantly join the shitstorm against EA’s Battlefront 2 and possibly attract some potential players. Blizzard is firing sharp shots on Twitter.
In a loosely formulated motto “One person’s pain is another person’s joy”, Activision Blizzard is using the current sentiment against EA for self-promotion. A single tweet could be coincidence – but three tweets targeting one of the most discussed scandals in Battlefront 2? Hardly.
Number of hours before you can play ANY Co-op Commander in StarCraft II: 0
The rivalry between Activision Blizzard and EA is certainly not new, and especially in social networks, things escalate incredibly quickly.
The reactions to these three jabs, however, are mixed.
Those who live in glass houses …
On one hand, people praise the creativity behind it and suggest a pay raise for the responsible social media manager or request an interview. On the other hand, Blizzard is mocked for being exactly those who are responsible for loot boxes and the whole dilemma, jumping on the bandwagon.
Of course, there is a difference: While in Overwatch you can primarily snag pretty new outfits from the loot boxes, in EA you get game-relevant advantages. And of course, in Overwatch you don’t have to invest countless hours of gameplay just to eventually enjoy one of the most iconic characters ever. But I see it: “Loot box” will be the buzzword of the year.
Guddy says: The tweets are quite funny. As a hardcore non-Starcraft player, I don’t belong to the target audience of these tweets. But the marketing is too sophisticated for me to simply ignore it! After all: Blizzard isn’t just shooting blindly; they have a point.
Is the war in the new addon of World of Warcraft just the beginning of an even greater threat?
With Battle for Azeroth, all signs point to war in World of Warcraft. The Alliance and Horde are at each other’s throats. The conflict rages not only on the new continents of Zandalar and Kul Tiras, but also in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. But is this really the main theme of the expansion? Or is there another conflict overshadowed by the war?
At BlizzCon, it was already announced that Queen Azshara will also appear as a boss during the expansion. Since the Naga have a clear connection to the Old Gods (they transformed the elves into Naga), it seems that the Old God N’Zoth is pulling the strings here.
This is also confirmed by the preview of the novel “Before the Storm”, which has now been pushed back by a month to June 12, 2018. Along with this, the description has been changed to read as follows:
“In Before the Storm, Anduin Wrynn, King of Stormwind, and Sylvanas Windrunner, Warchief of the Horde, have just come into new power that they are not yet prepared for. While the Alliance and Horde struggle to recover from the devastating war against the demonic Burning Legion, a terrible discovery puts both leaders to the test and threatens to rekindle the enmity between the two factions.”
Old Gods as Instigators of War?
What exactly this “terrible discovery” will be is still unclear. Azerite seems to be off the table, as players are already introduced to it in Patch 7.3.5. This increases the likelihood that it relates to the actions of the Old Gods.
The prevailing theory is that the “Battle for Azeroth” only includes the conflict between the Horde and Alliance in the early content (Patch 8.0 and 8.1). After that, everything will revolve around the deeper threat wanting to take over the planet Azeroth.
What do you think, where will the story of Battle for Azeroth lead? Will it remain a faction war? Or is this just the beginning of something larger?

Cheaters are an important and annoying topic in PUBG. They regularly ruin fair players’ matches and are just a nuisance. That’s why it’s always nice when as many of them as possible are sorted out and kicked out with a rough shove. Last weekend, the number of bans was in the six figures!
Heading towards a million banned cheaters
The service responsible for the kickouts in PUBG is called BattlEye. Regularly, through monitoring, fraudsters are identified and subsequently thrown out of the battle royale shooter.
Exciting numbers can be followed on Twitter. Last weekend, about 100,000 cheaters were thrown out of the game. Since the start of Early Access in March 2017, over 700,000 players have now been banned by BattlEye.
The developers explain that banning cheaters will always be important and that not all cheaters can be banned. Especially in the most popular battle royale game.

The release of TOTW 9 (Team of the Week 9) is coming in FIFA 18 FUT. These players will receive TOTW cards in Ultimate Team.
In real football, there is currently an international break, and the league action is on pause. However, in FUT 18, there is no break, as the TOTW is revealed every week throughout the entire season.
Now it’s the turn of TOTW 9. This time, there are some Hero cards included. The highlights are David Silva and Eriksen with 89 overall each, followed by Lukaku with 87. From the Bundesliga perspective, Tolisso is interesting, who has an OTW card. Here is the complete TOTW 9:

These were the predictions for Team of the Week 9 in FUT 18
TOTW predictions are forecasts of which players deserve a spot in the upcoming Team of the Week. While these predictions never match the official TOTW 100%, it is risky to act based on them on the transfer market. However, they provide a good overview of which players could receive the coveted special cards.
These predictions come from the fifauteam website:

What is the Team of the Week (TOTW) in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team?
Every Wednesday, EA Sports reveals the Team of the Week in the “Ultimate Team” mode of their annual football simulation. Just like in FIFA 18. Here, players who performed exceptionally in real football over the past week are rewarded with special cards that feature improved attributes.
You can draw TOTW cards within a week from the sets that may contain rare (gold) players. However, the chance of this is quite low. Additionally, it is possible to buy these on the transfer market if they are offered by other players. However, the prices are usually extremely high.
The Team of the Week 9 is available from November 15 at 7 PM to November 22 at 7 PM in the packs.
Fortnite is getting crazier with every update. Thanks to a new trap, you can now launch yourself high into the air, allowing you to glide again. This enables completely new tactics.
Fortnite: Battle Royale, the PvP mode of Fortnite, initially resembled the big genre giant PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Like in PUBG, your heroes parachuted onto a deserted island full of weapons and fought until only one remained.
With another new item, you could disguise yourself as a bush and set up epic ambushes.
The latest trick from the developers at Epic Games is now the new Launch Pad. It is actually a trap that you first have to find and build as a rare drop. With the Launch Pad, you can catapult yourself (or enemies) into the air. So high that you can deploy your glider again, just like at the beginning of the game!
Death from above!
This enables completely new tactics! You can sneak in from above into seemingly impregnable fortresses and take out unsuspecting foes. Or you can fly over long distances and surprise seemingly secure snipers in their hideouts.

Destiny 2 is in a strange dilemma. There are two major topics open before the first stream this evening, which have little to do with each other:
One is “the normal hype-service as per protocol” – a new DLC is coming in early December: Curse of Osiris. Here, Bungie still needs to present what kind of content there will be. The three stream dates in November have apparently been planned for a long time and are part of the PR concept.
The second is “the negative reactions from the community towards Destiny 2, calling for fundamental mechanic changes” – here, a declaration of intent and goals have already been issued, but it has yet to be stated when this will happen and how they plan to achieve these goals – this is the part with explosive potential. Critical players expect a sign from Bungie for a substantial directional change for Destiny 2.
When will Bungie talk about what Guardians really care about?
The last time Bungie had the opportunity to address such difficulties, they chose not to and turned the live stream at Twitchcon into a pure PR stream, showcasing a lot of stuff, including new cash-shop items set to come to Destiny 2 with the “Seasons” in December.
In the three streams that have now been announced, there is not a single stream title that indicates a focus on “mechanic changes.” The three streams all have only relatively vague titles
like “New Stories to tell” (today)
“New Ways to play” (November 21)
or “New Gear to earn” (November 29)
lacking is the stream “New Ideas to fix the Endgame” (without a date).
The mechanic questions – How will Bungie fix the endgame?
A discussion about the planned mechanic changes that Chris Barrett has hinted at would be more interesting. After all, he is the Game Director of the DLC “Curse of Osiris.”
If Bungie wants to change the sentiment around Destiny 2 in the community, it would be wise to start that discussion with today’s stream.
The most important question here is: How does Bungie plan to fix the endgame of Destiny 2? How do they plan to give Guardians an incentive to go into strikes and raids more frequently and regularly?
Hopefully, we will learn more about this this evening. It is difficult to believe that, however.
We will accompany the live stream on Mein MMO with a live ticker. The stream starts at 8 PM our time.

Your tactics in PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) must be completely rethought. In these videos, we show you how significantly the gameplay is affected by popular moves.
Players have long been looking forward to climbing and diving in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Now these features are available for the first time on the test servers, and it’s already clear how much these changes will impact the game. New hiding spots and surprise tactics are now possible.
Who needs doors when there are windows?
The new climbing and diving animations are part of the Version 1.0 update, which is currently available on the test servers of PUBG.
The update also brings improved vehicle control and a rework of the ballistics. However, the climbing mechanics might not have as much influence on gameplay as the other features.
In the following videos, we show you everyday situations from PUBG that suddenly change. With the update, you are no longer safe in the bathroom and must brace yourself for new sniper positions that didn’t exist before. Now you can enter well-secured buildings, as access through the front door is no longer necessary.
Windows too small? Not a problem!
In the first video from TheRealDeathZoner, we show you a climbing opportunity where we are not entirely sure if it was intended. Do you know the small windows that a complete body shouldn’t fit through? With the new feature, you can squeeze through these windows – and then you are inside the house.

The discussion surrounding microtransactions in the online shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2 never ends. Now Electronic Arts has commented and asks players for patience. He sees the new games-as-a-service approach as the future of EA’s titles.
The beauty of online games (games-as-a-service titles) is that they can be continuously revised and optimized, explained EA’s Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen during a tech conference this week.
The feedback from players is being heard, features can be adjusted. Operating a live service would also mean keeping an eye on the community and the feedback and responding to create a great gaming experience.
Players are reportedly willing to spend more money on a game
Of course, such games are also worthwhile for EA: If EA manages to keep players engaged and bind them to a game in the long term, then the company can find ways to continuously enhance the gaming experience and consistently earn money from it, according to Jorgensen.
According to Jorgensen, players don’t mind spending more time on a title and also spending much more money for it. Games work differently today.
Today many fans commit to a title and want to play it for a very long time. And as a company, you have to respond to that. Constantly enhance and adjust the gaming experience so that fans are willing to spend money.
Fans need patience
According to Blake Jorgensen, players simply need to be patient and understand that the developers are responding to feedback and continuously adjusting the gaming experience to present customers with a great title.
EA missed this opportunity with Battlefield 4. The game is actually consistently in the top 10 of the most played EA titles and EA could have earned a lot more money back then if they had already relied on the “game as a service” principle.
In the future, Electronic Arts also plans to focus more on games as a service and already has several such titles in development. This includes another Star Wars mobile game.
In Guild Wars 2the big addon Path of Fire was released just this summer, and the next season of the living story is already on the agenda.
A major highlight of Guild Wars 2 is the living story. This story began in 2013 and has been consistently continued since then. Every few months, a new episode comes out that fundamentally changes the game. Sometimes, a large city gets burned to ashes, only to be completely rebuilt a few episodes later.
The individual episodes are released every 2 to 3 months, but there is often a long wait between the seasons of the story. It took over 9 months for Season 3 to be released after Heart of Thorns. However, Season 4 is expected to go much faster!
New season just 2 months after the end of Path of Fire?
As already announced by ArenaNet, Season 4 is expected to start soon after Path of Fire, so players won’t have to wait too long. This seems to be working out for the developers, as the announcement recently came: “Season 4 of the Living Story starts on November 28, 2017!”
This means the new story season begins just 2 months after the release of the expansion Path of Fire! However, ArenaNet has not yet revealed what the next season will be about. But there should be more information on the topic shortly before the start, and the new story is expected to seamlessly connect to the finale of Path of Fire.
Summary trailer shows highlights of the living story
Furthermore, the developers have released a new trailer showcasing the highlights of the previous story, from Scarlet Briar to the return of Balthazar. But beware, it is filled with spoilers about the previous living story!

The new security measure for Pokémon GO is being stopped by an Apple update. The future for the blacklist currently looks bleak.
In recent weeks, we reported that Niantic has come up with a new security measure. A blacklist is supposed to ensure that cheaters cannot start their Pokémon GO app. However, Apple does not allow the mechanism of the blacklist to be revealed. A setback for Niantic.
iOS Update Slows Down Pokémon GO Blacklist
Actually, the idea of Niantic’s “blacklist” sounds good. The list records banned apps like GPS spoofers that enable players to cheat. When starting Pokémon GO, the game checks which other apps are installed on the device. If a banned app is found that is also on the blacklist, Pokémon GO will not start.
In this way, cheaters are kept out and only get a black screen.
At the moment, it seems that the blacklist is facing difficult times. This particularly affects iOS devices on which a security vulnerability has been fixed.
A bug allowed apps to access other installed apps on the device. However, the bug has now been fixed.
As a result, Pokémon GO can no longer check which other apps are installed on the iOS device. This vulnerability apparently exists on devices that have not yet installed the 11.1.1 update.
In a tweet, Pepijn Bruienne (Mac Enterprise Administrator) explained that the 11.1.1 update fixes the bug.

The idea of the blacklist is fundamentally good. If it works, many cheaters will be stopped – at least on Android devices.
However, the developers still need to significantly improve the blacklist, as there are already many ways circulating online to bypass the feature. In Discord channels of the corresponding software, they talk about renaming the app and other workarounds that circumvent the blacklist.
This anti-cheat measure will reduce the number of cheaters. However, Pokémon GO will not be “cheater-free” as a result.
The developers have already announced improvements for Pokémon GO. However, when we will receive them and what impact they will have on the game is still uncertain.
The 6 new races from WoW: Battle for Azeroth each receive a very special equipment set: Heritage Armor.
The next expansion for World of Warcraft, Battle for Azeroth, has been in development for some time. At BlizzCon 2017, there was plenty of information about the next chapter of Azeroth. One of the biggest changes will be the implementation of six new races. Three for the Horde (Highmountain Tauren, Nightborne, Zandalari Trolls) and three for the Alliance (Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves).
These “allied races” must first be unlocked by playing through the story with a main character so that players can subsequently create characters of that species.
Thanks to the new “allied races”, there are 6 new character slots!
As a special incentive for leveling such a character, there is an exclusive, cosmetic armor set. This Heritage Armor is a special set of equipment that reflects the traditions of these races. For the Nightborne, these are the typical blue-purple armors with feathers, while the Zandalari have armor pieces that strongly resemble those of the Inca or Maya.
But how do you get this Heritage Armor?
To unlock the Heritage Armor, you must level a character of the allied races from level 20 (the starting level) to 110.
The wings are part of the Heritage Armor.
At BlizzCon, it sounded like you would have to manually level the character for this – a simple race change or character boost would be excluded.
However, the equipment can only be transmogged by the corresponding characters. So you cannot dress a dwarf in the armor of a Void Elf. Only a Void Elf can wear the armor of the Void Elves.
Are you excited about the allied races and the Heritage Armor? Or is this topic completely uninteresting to you?
A year ago, we introduced the big hopefuls for 2017 on Mein MMO. What has become of the most promising MMOs and MMORPGs for 2017?
Almost a year ago, on November 20, 2016, the article “The most promising MMOs and MMORPGs in 2017” was published on Mein MMO. This article received a lot of attention and was read throughout the year. Approximately 130,000 people viewed it.
Today we ask ourselves: What were the thoughts about the games back then, and how did 2017 turn out for these games?
Bless – A graphical showstopper or a gem of the genre?
What people thought in 2016: People thought Bless would come to Europe in 2017 since it was already released in Korea and had found a publisher for the West. At that time, we assumed Bless could at least offer solid Asian fare for MMORPG fans.
This is what really happened in 2017: Bless was withdrawn from the market in Korea and Russia and reworked again because it was too unsuccessful in its original form. Following that, the EU publisher for Bless pulled out. A release of the game in the West is now still planned for 2018 – developer Neowiz intends to release it on Steam themselves.

Conclusion: Bless was actually a safe release candidate for 2017, as everything was already set up for it, and the game was finished, only needing to be ported. However, there were always concerns about whether it would succeed. With Bless, it was thought: This won’t break any trees, it’s only really interesting for genre fans. Maybe after the rework, it will really get better.
