The MMORPG Black Desert is currently plagued by connection issues and players are fed up with it. They protested in-game, causing the servers to crash.
March was not a good month for Black Desert. Connection problems and lags drove players up the wall. Those living in the USA are getting fair compensation for it. Players from Europe are also getting something, but not as much as the American fans. Just that alone caused some trouble.
Connection problems make players angry
The connection issues on the EU servers are still ongoing. There are still disconnections and lags that affect the entire game.
For March 24, a big guild war was planned, which ended in disaster due to the server issues. Players no longer want to tolerate this.
Players protest
Therefore, a siege took place on the EU server last weekend, where up to 1400 players gathered to crash the server in protest. This led to most players being unable to log into the MMORPG at all. Furthermore, players demand that Kakao Games finally take action:
The server host should be changed to finally create stable connections
There should be different channels for sieges and node wars
Those who do not participate in the guild wars should not be able to switch channels
Better optimization of the game
Improvements to sieges
Kakao Games has not commented on this yet, which is why there are already calls from EU players that the “EU server will soon die”.
The Razer Tartarus V2 is a keypad that shows its greatest utility in the MMORPG genre. However, one must invest a lot of work to get used to the controls. It pays off in the end though. We tested the Razer Tartarus V2 in action.
While keypads were somewhat exotic not too long ago, they have now become a staple in many gaming setups, especially when one is active in the competitive scene.
With the Tartarus V2, Razer has released a keypad model that can really demonstrate its capabilities, especially in MMORPGs.
The Tartarus is a keypad with 32 keys, an analog thumbstick, and the now-standard Razer Chroma RGB backlighting, with which one can set around 18 million different colors when feeling playful.
On one hand, it can be seen as an upgrade to the Razer Nostromo, improving the response time of inputs and adding another row of keys.
On the other hand, the Tartarus offers a cheaper alternative to the expensive Orb Weaver, which is more flexible and adjustable in its layout.
The keys themselves are triggered at mid-height, allowing for faster operation, which I personally found very cool. However, they are not mechanical keys.
Instead, Razer uses Mecha-Membrane technology, which was already employed in the Ornata keyboard, to imitate the feel of tactical feedback.
While the imitation still doesn’t quite match a real mechanical keyboard, one must commend this keypad: it doesn’t feel mushy like regular membrane keyboards usually do.
The build quality is stable and solid, as one expects from Razer products. However, it is hard to predict how well the soft artificial leather of the wrist rest will withstand long-term use.
Razer Synapse is a Must
If you want to take full advantage of the Tartarus, you can’t avoid installing the proprietary Razer software “Synapse”.
With its help, all Razer devices are automatically recognized, and once they have been registered, they can be used directly and customized as desired.
The customization options are extraordinarily diverse. The keys can be set up to take over various functions of the mouse, keyboard, or controller.
Creating complex macros is also simple and flexible; one just needs to record the desired key combination.
Then, for example, you can adjust the seconds between key presses to the third decimal place to achieve the perfect timing.
The macros are stored centrally and can also be used on other Razer devices if needed.
The main advantage of this over normal keyboards is that keyboards can perform multiple functions per key within games.
The keypad is completely separate from this and can be programmed however you want, without fearing accidentally overriding or duplicating another function.
There is an option to save several different sets of key assignments and rotate them as desired, which is very handy if you play multiple classes or have decided to use the Tartarus for other games.
The various setups are saved in your own Razer profile and are not lost if you need to format your PC.
This also means that the Tartarus immediately loses all its functions if Synapse ever fails.
To be good, one must suffer
If you think about raiding at a high level in MMORPGs, then you should master your class well enough that the rotations come easily without having to check if you are pressing the right key.
Muscle memory is extremely important for this, which has been trained over years by MMORPG raiders with other devices. Accordingly, the learning curve for properly using the Tartarus is extremely steep.
One of the reasons for this is the thumbstick, which you use instead of WSAD for movement. This frees up additional fingers to press other keys during movement.
However, the years of using WSAD by many PC gamers (myself included) have embedded this control into their DNA.
Other aspects, such as the distance between the keys, are also quite unfamiliar. You often notice the adjustment when buying a new keyboard; with the Tartarus, it is even more challenging.
Because the keys are arranged in a straight grid and not slightly offset like on a normal keyboard, it is difficult to discern where you are by touch alone.
Additionally, the wrist rest is very stiff: You cannot position your hand differently to be closer to certain keys, for example.
Accordingly, I stood in front of a training dummy in the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV and mercilessly beat it for the next two hours to get a feel for the distance between the keys and the new rhythm of rotation.
It took me several days of testing and training in normal dungeons before I felt comfortable enough to enter a proper Savage raid with the Tartarus.
Switching from a normal keyboard to a keypad is initially difficult
You should definitely expect that your performance in the raid will initially suck because the old reflexes for WSAD control cannot be easily eradicated.
However, once it starts to improve, the difference is really noticeable.
Normally, silly RNG situations in the raid are unavoidable, and if the boss forces you to skip one or even two global cooldowns because you have to dodge an attack with WSAD, it results in a DPS loss that could cost the group the kill.
Thanks to the thumbstick, these situations no longer occur because you now have enough fingers free to operate other keys at the same time. And that’s just one example of how the functions of the Tartarus can make your life easier in a raid.
Basically, it is a really cool toy that rewards the player if they engage with it properly.
When size becomes important
Unfortunately, and this was a major disadvantage for me, the Tartarus is by no means as comfortable as it could be.
The wrist rest is only minimally adjustable, and you can only reach the first row of keys comfortably if you have fairly long fingers.
And since I am a small person with small hands, the long-term use of the Tartarus became a problem for me. It actually got to the point where I felt pain in my joint because my hand was continuously tense instead of relaxing.
While short 20-30 minute runs with breaks are not problematic, when you are actually engaged in the high-end raiding scene of MMORPGs, long raid sessions of 6 to 16 hours are common.
If you are unsure whether the Tartarus fits you in terms of size, I would recommend testing it in an electronics store before buying. Comfort is a factor that should definitely not be neglected.
However, if it fits, it surpasses the comfort of normal keyboards by a large margin because the wrist rest feels pleasant and the wrist is relaxed.
Conclusion: Tartarus V2 in MMORPG Test
Basically, the usage factor of the Tartarus in gaming is mainly limited to MMORPGs, which does not mean it cannot be useful in other genres.
Nevertheless, I think the keypad can truly shine with all its features in an MMORPG.
It combines the thumbstick of a controller with the flexible and diverse key mapping of a keyboard and has no other functions outside of the game unless you want it to.
However, the full potential of the keypad can only be realized if one is willing to invest a lot of time to program it and get used to the unusual control.
Once you learn how to handle the Tartarus, the effort pays off with flexible and comfortable control and is also cheaper than, for example, the Orb Weaver.
Whether the price of around €100 for a non-mechanical keypad is justified should be decided by each individual.
Advantages
Disadvantages
Easy installation and operation
Not mechanical
Extremely versatile use of key mapping
Very steep learning curve
Good for “high-end raiding” in MMORPGs
Wrist rest only minimally adjustable

The studio appears to have provided the first official hint itself – whether inadvertently or intentionally.
The next step for Destiny 2 is scheduled for May 8, 2018
In the closing remarks of the current French edition of “This Week at Bungie,” the studio stated that it has not yet reached the final version and that many changes for Destiny 2 are planned. The March update was just one of many steps. The next one is set for May 8th.
The French version of the official Bungie site was the only one to provide this hint. Meanwhile, the specific date has been generally changed to May.
What can Guardians expect on May 8th in Destiny 2? The 2nd expansion? Update 1.2.0? Both?
Whether this “faux pas” occurred unintentionally or whether Bungie wanted to subtly disseminate information cannot be stated with certainty.
However, it seems that all doubts should now be cleared regarding an important event in Destiny 2 on May 8, 2018. Both the release of the 2nd DLC and the final remaining Update milestone 1.2.0 from Bungie’s contingency plan are possibilities.
Due to credible retailer leaks, the evidence suggests a genuine release of the next expansion on May 8, 2018. Update 1.2.0 is expected to be launched alongside DLC II.
An official statement from Bungie is likely to follow shortly as April is expected to focus entirely on the next expansion.
What are you expecting on May 8, 2018, for Destiny 2?
In Fortnite, the comet in the sky is driving people crazy, and controllers are vibrating randomly. “There must be a connection!” clever researchers shout. They predict the end of Fortnite as we know it on April 18.
Or something else will happen that might have to do with the space theme in the Battle Pass – or with dinosaurs. Anything could happen!
Meanwhile, we know: It was definitely not just an April Fool’s joke. Because on April 1, only the impulse grenades were modified and allowed players to fly through the air further than usual.
Now new clues have emerged! Or at least a theory so wild that it drove parts of the Fortnite community crazy over Easter.
Causing discussions – a spot in the sky
Vibrating controllers are a coded distress signal from Tilted Towers
Since patch 3.4, players repeatedly report: “My controller vibrates so weirdly when I play Fortnite. I can’t explain it at all.“
On Reddit, a particularly clever researcher has now examined the vibrations. He says: “The controller vibrates in two different ways. One is a light vibration and the other is a bit harder vibration. So short and long.” This can be translated into Morse code.
Furthermore, there are four different vibration sequences that occur in different situations.
One occurs only during the day
The second pattern occurs only at night
The third pattern occurs when you are in the storm
And the fourth pattern occurs only when you are gliding
If you take four patterns consisting of sequences of “Short” and “Long” and translate them using the Morse alphabet (and somehow combine them), you get: “SOS D5 418.”
By the way, Epic has a straightforward explanation for the vibrating controllers: It’s a bug that will be fixed soon. In the meantime, players should just turn off the vibrations.

The terror spreads in the fictional Hope County in Far Cry 5 But it is not the Eden’s Gate cult that is currently making life difficult for players, but something far more diabolical. It is: a turkey?
During their strolls through the picturesque Hope County, Montana, players encounter all sorts of wildlife, most of which is not to be trifled with. It is common knowledge to keep a distance from bears or mountain lions or to arm oneself well beforehand. However, something lurks in the forests that is much more frightening than predators, fanatical cult members, or even the legendary Bigfoot…
Players get hit by turkeys
Currently, players on Reddit report their encounters with the common North American turkey, which behaves a bit differently in Far Cry 5 compared to real life. They are said to prefer attacking when you are already injured or currently engaged in combat.
Players also tell of being chased by the enraged gallinaceous birds, which can be stopped neither by bullets nor by fire.

However, players are not the only ones suffering from the turkey plague in Hope County. The feathered devils also like to join the fight against the cult members or attack innocent passersby on the roadside.
No wonder that panic also breaks out among the population as soon as a turkey is sighted: As can be seen here.
Turkeys have already been nerfed
Interestingly, the whole turkey debacle is that the animals had already been nerfed before the release of Far Cry 5. In the official patch notes, it was already aptly noted that the poultry was simply too strong.
Have you also experienced an attack from the common turkey or do you have other views on who should win the award for the strongest wildlife in Far Cry 5?
The Hanzo rework for Overwatch is progressing. Kaplan reveals what is changing and shows concept ideas for the new animations.
The most eagerly awaited update for Overwatch is finally taking shape. Players have been waiting for months (if not since the release of the shooter) for Blizzard to finally make significant changes to the hero Hanzo.
Hanzo has an incredibly bad reputation in the community. It has reached the point where “Hanzo Main” has become an insult to label a poor player. The reason for this lies mainly in the ability Scatter Arrow, which can take out even powerful tanks with just one hit. To do this, Hanzo simply needs to aim right in front of the tank on the ground, and all the projectiles from the Scatter Arrow will hit the tank, sending them back to the respawn room.
Scatter Arrow will become “Rapid Shot”, there are new animations
In the official forum, Jeff Kaplan commented once again on the rework of Hanzo and confirmed that there have already been many internal tests with the new ability.
The Scatter Arrow will be replaced with a “Rapid Shot” (working title). However, how exactly the ability will work is still not known.
The Sonic Arrow, on the other hand, will have a smaller radius and the duration will be decreased. As compensation, the cooldown will be “significantly” reduced, allowing the Sonic Arrow to be used more frequently and provide more reconnaissance.
But something else is changing: Hanzo’s animations. In the future, it should always be clear to friends and enemies which ability Hanzo is currently preparing, rather than only realizing it when one already has the arrow stuck in their head.
Kaplan also published an artwork showing what the Sonic Arrow might look like in the future. While this is not a final implementation, it is the idea the designers have had so far.
However, there is still no date for the changes – not even for the associated PTR. As soon as that changes, you will of course find out here.
What do you think of the planned changes to Hanzo? Is it time for the Scatter Arrow to be retired? Or do you find it absolutely “balanced”?
Besides Latias and Latios, there are other new Raid bosses in Pokémon GO. Included are Ghost-types, so you can complete your quest for Mew more easily.
A lot has changed in the Raid battles of Pokémon GO in the last few hours. Since April 3, we no longer find Lugia as a Raid boss, but Latios and Latias have been activated instead.
To have strong attackers against these dragons on your team, the available Raid bosses of the lower difficulty levels have also been adjusted. This means you will find more Ghost Pokémon that should be particularly interesting for the researchers among you.
New Raid Bosses since April 3
In the announcement for Latios and Latias, Niantic explained that there are bosses in the arenas that make for a good attacking team against the two new dragons. “Are you looking for the perfect Pokémon to challenge Latias and Latios? Pokémon whose attacks are strong against Psychic and Dragon-types will also appear in Raid battles, such as Tyranitar and Shuppet,” the official statement says.
In the community of TheSilphRoad, they are now diligently compiling which new bosses can be found in the game. So far, with Latias and Latios, there are a total of 10 new ones confirmed by trainers in the Reddit thread by backstroker1991. These are distributed with two specimens each across the different difficulty levels:
Raid Level 1
Magikarp
Swablu
Snorunt
New: Shuppet
New: Shuppet
Raid Level 2
Shuppet
Sableye
Weepinbell
New: Sneazle
New: Drifloon
Raid Level 3
Gengar
Roselia
Haunter
Machoke
New: Pinsir
New: Granbull
Raid Level 4
Tyranitar
Steelix
Absol
New: Walrein
New: Houndoom
Raid Level 5
Latios
Latias
The new Ghost bosses Drifloon, Shuppet, and Shuppet provide a good opportunity for trainers to advance their special research. In the fifth phase of your Mew quest, you should catch 10 Ghost Pokémon, among other tasks. In some areas, this can be difficult unless it’s Halloween and a ghost is waiting around every corner in Pokémon GO.
Those who don’t enjoy playing Pokémon GO at night can now easily catch these monsters during the day with the new Raid bosses.
You could soon pull a weapon from a vending machine in Fortnite Battle Royale due to a glitch discovered by a player. Dataminers have verified this, and indeed: the weapon vending machine can also be found in the code.
The player Markenny has stumbled upon a secret that is actually still deep within the data of Fortnite.
The player got disconnected from the server while gliding and glitched strangely. In any case, he then found himself in front of a machine, like a soda vending machine, that promised to give him a weapon if he put 250 wood into the slot.
There’s also a video of it.

This is not an April Fools’ joke – dataminers actually found a “vending machine” deep in the code that could take on this function. It might be possible that such weapon vending machines will come to Fortnite in the live game, taking materials or something else in exchange for items or weapons.
For the moment, it is still unclear if and when these machines will come and in what function:
It might be possible that they will permanently join Fortnite and reward players for diligently gathering materials.
Or it could just be available for a special mode for a while.
Or it is an idea that Epic came up with but then discarded.
Is this an original idea? Here, too, Epic has taken inspiration, as they often do. If you know the Borderlands franchise, the concept of a weapon vending machine from which you casually pull a weapon, as you would with a snack or a soft drink in our world, will seem familiar.

From Leak to Reality – The Machines are Coming
Update 3.4. 10:39 AM: It is now official, and it seems to be coming soon. The new in-game message announces the “Vending Machine” as Coming Soon: Exchange materials you can spare for extra gear.
Currently, Fortnite is in a comet frenzy, and players are asking: “Has it gotten any closer again?”
For a long time it was one of the most requested features in Guild Wars 2, and ArenaNet has now fulfilled it: sitting. Gone are the days when our heroes had to suffer from varicose veins from standing continuously; they can now finally sit on a chair.
Under the name “Chair of Power,” ArenaNet offers a comprehensive sitting experience. Over 1400 chairs allow us to sit in the 6 cities. In order to celebrate this event properly, the responsible Chair-Team released a Behind the Scenes.

Additionally, there is a corresponding achievement for us to sit on various types of chairs. Thus, achievement collectors and RP players benefit from the new feature. However, there is still a small problem for role-playing, as not all emotes are possible.
Among the emotes is the command to speak: /talk, which means the character visually speaks as well. This character remains silent. Chatting as a player is still possible, however.
The new revenue figures from SuperData are here and show that Epic Games’ Fortnite continues to deliver outstanding results on PS4, Xbox One, and also on PC. There is no trace of Blizzard’s Overwatch in the charts anymore.
The figures from Superdata show the global digital revenues of games in a month.
Oldies dominate on PC
Once again, the big, stable games that are funded month after month by their player base dominate PC games: Games like League of Legends or the Asia trio can be seen here month after month. All of them are older games that continue to be maintained.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds at 5 and Fortnite at 6 are the only somewhat current games on the list.
Otherwise, only oldies can be seen: World of Warcraft is also found at position 7, just like in January, while World of Tanks rolled in at rank 8. Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is back at place 9 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive dropped two places to rank 10.
Fortnite is very strong on consoles – Monster Hunter World can hold its ground.
The console charts still show Call of Duty: WW 2 at rank 1, closely followed by FIFA 18.
Monster Hunter World dropped to rank 4: This is still impressive because Monster Hunter World operates almost without microtransactions.
Interestingly, we find Destiny 2 only in the console charts, and here at rank 7, just like the month before.
Also back are Madden NFL 18 (place 6) and NBA 2K18 (position 8), as well as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege at rank 10. Position 9 is held by EA Sports UFC 3.
The mobile games charts will soon become very interesting
With the weather slowly improving, it seems that Pokémon GO can also push itself back up to higher ranks and is slowly climbing the mobile games charts.
Fortnite is not yet represented in the list, but that will surely only be a matter of time now that the title can be played by everyone on their smartphones.
It must be noted:
Fortnite is a stable source of income for Epic Games, not only on PC but even more so on console. Battle Royale is still extremely popular.
Monster Hunter World remains an exceptional title and earns digital revenue, although it was especially praised for its very tame microtransactions.
Bungie can still score with Destiny 2 on console, but on PC the players seem to be less willing to pay.
The coming months will make the mobile games charts very interesting, as both PUBG and Fortnite are playable on smartphones.
The big loser seems to be Blizzard’s Overwatch, which has completely fallen out of the charts.
The Lord of the Rings game Shadow of War was harshly criticized at release for its microtransactions. Now publisher Warner Bros. announces that they will be completely removed. The microtransactions hindered players from fully immersing themselves in the Nemesis System. This is evident six months after release.
Shadow of War sparked the discussion about microtransactions in 2017, which then culminated in the huge uproar surrounding Star Wars Battlefront 2 by the end of the year.
The discussion essentially revolved around the fact that Shadow of War is a full-priced single-player game and the microtransactions come into play in the endgame, as a relatively grindy system was implemented here: the Shadow Wars, a series of sieges.
Discussion about Loot Boxes Dominated Release of Shadow of War
With loot boxes, the War Chests, players were able to buy relief here. Although the loot boxes were not necessarily required, many critics argued on principle. They accused the developers of making the endgame deliberately tedious to sell more loot boxes – and that in a single-player game.
Shadow of War was released on October 10, 2017, and received decent reviews from the press with a score of 80 on Metacritic. However, the public discussion at that time was dominated by the loot boxes – and some amusing clips regarding the Nemesis System.
Nemesis is the system in which you fight, enslave, and engage in battles with Orcs repeatedly. Due to some random factors, the Orcs receive different abilities, titles, and almost a personality.
Even in the first part, the Nemesis system was the centerpiece of the game. Because it leads to individual stories for each player.
The Nemesis system consistently produced highlights and also fueled the discussion about the game.
When people post videos of them tormenting poor Orcs and continuously degrading them.
Or vice versa: When a scrawny under-Orc rises to the mighty Warlord because he emerged victorious from battles with the player.
In the endgame, the Shadow Wars, you can then deploy your own Orcs and also trade them on a marketplace. And that is exactly what bothers Warner Bros. in hindsight.

Now Warner Bros. says: The microtransactions take away a key aspect of the Nemesis System. According to Warner Bros., it corrupts the system when you can just buy Orcs in the marketplace. Because then you don’t experience great stories with them. This prevents players from immersing themselves in the world.
Therefore, they will permanently remove gold, War Chests, and the market from Shadow of War.
Solo Specialist Mione sets a new record in World of Warcraft once again. The Cathedral of Eternal Night in Mythic +15 – and that solo within the time limit!
In recent weeks and months, we have repeatedly reported on insane records in World of Warcraft. For example, there was a Warlock who defeated raid bosses in Antorus, the Burning Throne alone. But no name has come up as often as Mione. On his YouTube channel Mionelol, he regularly publishes videos of his Demon Hunter, with which he masters challenge after challenge that was previously considered impossible.
Now Mione has once again broken a record and completed the Cathedral of Eternal Darkness at the difficulty of +15 solo. Because that alone would still be far too easy, he even met the time limit. Who needs four competent teammates when you can also complete the most challenging group content solo?
Anyone who wants to watch the video can do so here:

What is particularly interesting are the small details with which Mione saves a lot of time. For example, he skillfully changes at the last moment to ensure that he does not lose the buff “Nemesis,” and takes it with him for the first trash groups of the instance. The very first enemies are skipped with an invisibility potion to avoid wasting time.
So far, only achieved on tournament servers
It is worth mentioning, however, that Mione “cheated” a bit here and did not complete the achievement under live conditions. Instead, Mione was on the server of the Mythic Dungeon Invitational. There, keystones can be created independently, and the affixes as well as the level can be freely determined.
The achievement itself does not diminish this, of course. It probably would have just taken a while until Mione would have received exactly this keystone with the matching affixes in the live version.
What do you think of this achievement? Simply impressive or an impressive waste of time?
The next Overwatch event “Uprising” will be different from last year. There are many new missions – and of course new skins.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the next big in-game event from Overwatch. According to the calendar, the next event is the “Uprising” event, which was called “Aufstand” in German – but this year it will be a different event. As the developers announced in a “Developer Update,” this time the event will be called “Archives.”
The reason for this is simple: the “Uprising” of King’s Row was merely an important event in Overwatch’s past. During the “Archives” event, however, several events from the past can be replayed! This probably means that there will be more PvE content for Overwatch that players can enjoy in the “Archives” event from April 10 to April 30.

Concrete information about the new missions and their number is not yet available. The developers want to reveal these in the coming days.
The new cosmetics have also only been teased so far; there is supposed to be a new skin for your “favorite Shimada brother” – whether this refers to Genji or Hanzo is still open by the developers. It could of course also mean that both Hanzo and Genji will get a new skin.
However, the popular Uprising map from last year will also be back, and in both modes. Either in the “Story Mode” with the designated characters (Reinhardt, Mercy, Tracer, and Torbjörn) or in the chaos variant, where everyone can control a hero of their choice.
Are you looking forward to the Archives? Do you want more PvE missions in Overwatch? Or should the developers focus more on the “real” game and thus on PvP?
A prepper hideout currently triggers the hunt for mythical creatures in Far Cry 5 (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC): Allegedly, the legendary Bigfoot is said to roam in the Whitetail Mountains of Hope County. Sleuths on Reddit are on the trail of this mysterious story.
In the fictional Hope County in Far Cry 5, there is not only the Eden’s Gate cult, but also the Sasquatch, known as Bigfoot, is said to roam in Montana.
Clues come from a side mission in the Whitetail Mountains, where one of the residents is certain he has seen the legendary creature. This creates a real hype among players.
Bigfoot is allegedly living in the Whitetail Mountains
The side quest “On the Sasquatch Hunt” leads players to a prepper hideout in the mountains. West of Clagett Bay in the Whitetail Mountains, the area of Jacob Seed, you come across the locked cabin of Dick Dansky. He is sure he is on the trail of Bigfoot, whom he claims to have seen.
To open the cabin and grab the valuable loot, Dansky’s key must first be found. According to a message, the cabin’s resident is heading to a lookout point, as he reportedly heard noises outside.
And indeed: You also hear strange calls that seem to come from neither a human nor an animal. If you follow the path up to the lookout point, you will repeatedly find puddles of blood and dead wildlife.
However, finding the key to the prepper cabin does not solve the mystery.
Players search for Bigfoot with the help of a map found in-game
In the cabin, you find a large map of the region, which can also be found in other buildings in the Whitetail Mountains.
However, the Sasquatch-crazy prepper marked spots and photos on his map where Bigfoot activities are said to have occurred.
Especially on Reddit, the discovery of the side mission and the map has already caused excitement. Players are already investigating the locations marked on the map and compiling information that could lead to finding the Sasquatch.
This is not the first time that mysterious mythical creatures are involved in Ubisoft titles: The relative of Bigfoot, the Yeti, already appeared in a DLC for Far Cry 4 and was also the subject of a week-long search in Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
The next legendary raid bosses in Pokémon GO are Latios and Latias. As the developers explain, they will appear in a rotation very soon.
Until the evening of April 2, you can battle Lugia in Pokémon GO and even catch it in Shiny form. What special bosses will be available after Lugia has not been disclosed by the Niantic team just before Lugia’s departure. Following are two dragon Pokémon that will appear around the world separately.
Latios and Latias in Pokémon GO
In level 5 raids, trainers encounter legendary foes in Pokémon GO. Until April 2, Lugia is the legendary boss that you can meet there. From April 3, a new boss will be in level 5 raids in Europe: Latias.
The two dragon and psychic Pokémon, Latias and Latios, will come as new raid bosses.
Latias appears as a new raid boss in Europe and Asia
Latios appears as a new raid boss in North and South America, as well as Africa
But don’t worry, we will have the chance to catch both monsters in Europe. On May 8, the two monsters will rotate, then Latios will be available in Europe and remain for about a month. Latias will be found in North and South America, and Africa. On June 5, the two legendary bosses will disappear again.
To have good chances against the new level 5 bosses, there are also monsters in raid battles that suit well for the fight against Latios and Latias. These include, for example, Tyranitar and Flunkifer. Those who have caught Rayquaza in the last weeks will also be very effective in the fight against the two newcomers. Therefore, assemble a strong team to defeat the new bosses.
The brave letter from a teacher is now featured as a loading screen in Fortnite Mobile. The teacher wanted to show his students: Just watch out, I’m writing to the developers that you are always gaming during class.

No question: Students are playing Fortnite during class. It seems that Mr. Hillman noticed this. He is a teacher and wrote on Reddit in a now-deleted post to the developers:
“My college friend and I play Fortnite almost every night. But I have a problem with that: Since it came out on mobile, my students won’t stop playing it in class. I promised them that I would write to you, but they didn’t believe me. I don’t know if it’s possible, but could you include a loading screen just to show them? At least for a few days? Mr. Hillman says: Stop playing in class!”
And Epic actually created just such a loading screen in less than two weeks and integrated it into Fortnite Mobile (thumbnail). A unicorn llama is now warning on a cloud with a rainbow: “Mr. Hillman says: Stop playing in class.”
Even the employees of Epic themselves find it amazing how quickly the company can react to something like this. The community manager K.L. Smith emphasizes this:

On April 1st, there were numerous April Fools’ jokes related to World of Warcraft. We show you what Blizzard came up with.
Yesterday was April 1st and as usual, developers and community managers used online games to successfully fool players for April Fools. Blizzard is particularly known for its April Fools’ jokes around World of Warcraft and came up with several ideas. We look back at the April Fools’ jokes of 2018.
Micro-holidays – Crazier than ever
On the official WoW website, there was a new blog post introducing the new micro-holidays for 2018. Want some examples?
We are all Elves now: For three days, all player races turn into new elf races. So Tauren become “Hoof Elves”, while Orcs become “very angry Elves” and Goblins become “Girl Elves”. There simply aren’t enough elves in WoW.
Only with RP gang goes forward: For one day, all characters in the game can only walk and not run. A holiday especially for role players who have surely waited long for this.
Future Timewalking: Instead of rehashing old content with timewalking of the past, Blizzard now goes the opposite way – timewalking into the future. Here you can experience dungeons from future expansions!
Boom and Crash!: Miners have a new currency, as they can use “Brockchain” technology to mine “Kritcoin”. The value of Kritcoin varies at groundbreaking speed, fluctuating between 15,000 gold and three stones. You can shop with Kritcoin, at least if you find a vendor that accepts it.
Via Twitter, the developers informed that there will be even more crazy mounts in WoW in the future. With Battle for Azeroth, there will be “extremely realistic mounts” whose in-game graphics should be hardly distinguishable from reality. In fact, it looked like this:

As usual, Blizzard also always publishes a lot of “fake patch notes” on April 1st, supposedly expanding the game with numerous things. Some ideas are just silly, some reference popular memes from the community, and others are even slightly teasing. Here are some translated excerpts:
New feature: Appear Online
Those who want to can now set their Battle.net account to be displayed as online permanently. Even when the PC is off, it looks for friends as if you have been farming battlegrounds or dungeons all day.
New feature: Royale Battlegrounds
A free-for-all match for 100 players that goes until the last survivor.
Everyone starts without equipment, talents, and class abilities. These are spread across the map and must be collected (or looted from enemies) to survive.
There are special cosmetic gears and titles, such as the “Fort Knight” title.
This will also come soon for Android and iOS!
Adjustments for mounts
The drop rates for mounts from raids and dungeons have been adjusted to ensure that the one mount you’ve been farming for three years drops immediately for the latest member of your guild.
Class changes Priest
Discipline
Atonement no longer requires the target to strip its clothes and walk naked through the streets of Stormwind. Shame!
Prayer of Mending is now 25% less pathetic.
Shadow
Your knife (Xal’atath) now speaks to you twice as often.
You can no longer put your knife on the ignore list. You really shouldn’t have done that.
A bug was fixed where you and your knife never had a good idea for dinner.
Your knife now speaks to you three times as often.
TERA celebrates its release on PS4 and Xbox One. After the first playthrough, it quickly becomes clear why the action-MMO has always been made for consoles. However, not everything is perfect, says our author and former TERA veteran Dawid …
On April 3rd, the MMORPG TERA from PUBG creators, Bluehole, officially launched as a free-to-play title on console. We already had a chance to extensively check out the newest MMO title on PS4 during early access. Is the console version of TERA worth it?
Combat system is top …
The focus of TERA is clearly on the combat system, the absolute heart of the game. This has changed little over the past years.
I dodge red areas, position myself as a Destroyer behind the boss in an optimal position with the crosshair, and trigger a skill opener. As a “Slayer” belonging to the race of Castanics, everything is geared toward dealing massive damage from behind. After that, everything runs with an intuitive, direct chaining system. This system sometimes brings me to such ecstasy that every crit makes me internally twitch. The mechanics of the bosses are perfectly synchronized with the possibilities of the active action combat system and harmonize splendidly.
The hit feedback is especially satisfying with strong skills and critical hits. But beware, triggering one skill too many in a frenzy or taking aggro away from the tank can quickly result in your character lying in the dirt. As a former PC veteran, I can already say: It gets far more intense in hard modes in the endgame, unless the difficulty has been significantly reduced for consoles. TERA has clearly spoiled my enjoyment of conventional semi-round-based “tab-targeting combat systems”, as we know them from World of Warcraft and the like.
A successful port
Bluehole has done a great job on the console port in terms of combat. The combat controls, elaborate skill animations, and combos are just super smooth and work intelligently together. No current console MMORPG manages that as well.
The console menus and the UI are minimalistic, user-friendly, and divided into areas that can be quickly accessed. Once you understand the interface and item management, everything seems logical and much of TERA is now automated. For example, enchanting equipment, crafting consumables, or enhancing abilities with glyphs. This almost resembles a mobile MMO like Lineage 2 Revolution. Everything was significantly clunkier at the PC release.
By the way, controller support has been available on PC since 2012. And you can feel the substantial difference. In the console version, the entire game has been tailored to controller control, and even the enemies were adjusted. On PC, the controller was only viable for casual grinding, but nothing could compare to mouse and keyboard.
The fun of console controls has even ignited a new fire in me that drives me. Recently, I attempted to restart on PC, which I quickly ended. On PS4, I have progressed much further and am still playing. Lying on the couch with the PS4 controller and smashing bosses on a large TV. That fits perfectly with the action-oriented combat system of TERA.
… The rest is MMORPG-standard fare from 2010
While the combat system may be beautiful, TERA stands or falls with it. The combat continually provides motivation boosts, especially when new skills or weapons are introduced. But as soon as that wears off, players are met with a monotonous symphony of run-of-the-mill quests such as “Repair the teddy, bring us 5 needles” or “Kill 7 bandits and bring back the goods.” Modern quests are scarce in the leveling phase, and the story is difficult to grasp.
It is, after all, an Asia-MMO that has been around for a few years. Since its release, Bluehole has delivered more of the same over the years, increased comfort, removed non-functional content, and focused even more on endgame. New dungeons, raids, classes, and so forth. What players appreciated about TERA has been expanded on a large scale. Yet the weaknesses remain. Unfortunately, popular new classes like the Moonlight Dancer and Ninja are still missing in the console version.
Sadly, TERA from 2018 is also characterized by being significantly simplified, which is equally true for the PC version. A symbol of this are the BAMS, the so-called Big-Ass Monsters, which used to only be tackled in groups. Nowadays, they can be easily taken down in a few hits. Alone. The adrenaline level stays lower compared to earlier.
A very long tutorial
There was a fitting anecdote in the EnMasse forum regarding the leveling phase description: Up to level 64, it’s a tutorial; then with level 65, the real game begins. Leveling up to 65 is primarily meant to learn how to handle the new skills. You can also see that Bluehole has done a lot to ensure that this “unpleasant appendage” speeds along. The kill-and-collect quests have been significantly reduced, and you primarily just need to follow the red main quests.
This has been known, and although TERA has introduced a comfortable quest reward system, where tasks are displayed that you can easily transport to and for which you receive daily and weekly rewards afterward, it remains the case: The fights, bosses, and dungeons or raids are super. As a whole package, however, it offers significantly less than a WoW, ESO, or Final Fantasy XIV.
This can already be said based on experiences from the PC version: The endgame mainly consists of grinding for increasingly better gear, which can be quite appealing due to the progression options. You gather reputation from quest events and often revisit the same dungeons, PvP battlegrounds, and raids.
And now the catch with the PS4: Graphical and performance issues
It’s a common thread running through almost all PC MMORPG ports. FPS drops, reduced graphical details, and low draw distances spoil the gaming experience. TERA is no exception, and despite some last-minute optimizations, it raises the bar even higher. The game was released in Korea in early 2011.
Compared to the PC counterpart, you have to live with significantly poorer optics on PS4 or Xbox One. The console hardware quickly reaches its limits with MMORPGs and with the already performance-heavy TERA. The PS4 simply isn’t powerful enough to cope with the sometimes poor optimization, especially since the PC version already puts strong rigs to the test. It’s likely that Bluehole has given up on fully addressing these issues. I can’t explain why the game suddenly went into headstart after the last open beta. There is no information about a PS4 Pro version.
Ein Screenshot aus der PS4 zeigt…
…dass die PC-Version deutlich detailreicher ist. Die PS4-Version zeigt einige Details sogar gar nicht an.
You have to live with these 3 problems:
Problem 1: Pop-ups occur more frequently. Many objects are faded out, loaded later, or appear suddenly when you stand in front of them.
Problem 2: Normally known for its attractive graphics, that can hardly be claimed on console. The details, even in cinematics, have been turned down so much compared to the PC version that, exaggeratedly speaking, previously beautiful beings resemble a Minecraft army of Emperor Palpatine.
Problem 3: The most annoying are the frame drops. During quests, there are occasional micro-stutters that hardly negatively impact gameplay. However, when larger groups occur, it leads to detriments to the gaming experience.
Big stone colossuses put PS4 hardware to the test
In the first battleground for 20 players, the pointless Kumaskrippe, where you play as big stone giants that have nothing in common with your character, and the goal is to defeat an even bigger stone giant from the enemy team, skill delays or skipped frames occur frequently. This is particularly frustrating in PvP.
The most terrible battleground in TERA and unfortunately the first one players encounter.
Later on, there will even be raids and further battlegrounds with even more players. It’s hard to imagine that it will operate much better if graphics details and draw distance are further reduced.
For those for whom gameplay is paramount, this can be overlooked
In summary, this doesn’t weigh heavily overall, as the focus is on the gameplay, which is convincing. The areas offer at least varied backdrops, feel quite lively, and sometimes look quite nice from afar. Players just shouldn’t expect a visual feast here.
Conclusion on the PS4 version of TERA
With TERA, console players receive a solid theme park MMORPG that stands out mainly due to its dynamic action combat system and is therefore perfectly suited for PS4 and Xbox One. Those who can live with mediocre graphics in Asian style and occasional performance issues have many hours of enjoyment ahead of them—as long as combat is the priority and quests or side activities take a backseat.
Especially fans of dungeon and raid runs, who also like to constantly improve their gear and characters, could find a new home here. TERA unfolds its full potential in groups, and the varied and challenging boss mechanics are convincing. If you’re looking for a full-fledged MMO experience akin to Dark Souls, Devil May Cry, or Monster Hunter World, you might find it here.
A large selection of free-to-play MMORPGs on consoles is not available anyway, and TERA is a welcome change. Against Skyforge, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, Trove, and DC Universe Online, TERA has no reason to hide, but rather, it is likely the best free MMORPG on PS4 and Xbox One.
The shop and the free-to-play model have made a fair impression so far. For frequent players, the elite status can be recommended, a monthly subscription that offers some comfort advantages.

Will an MMORPG on console reach PC-level soon? The Xbox One X could already enable more. Black Desert Online offers hope, as it will run on the most powerful console in the world and, according to initial information from the publisher, utilizes all its power. Screenshots and videos of the console version of Black Desert impress here with higher detail and smoother representations. Whether the fully accessible release version can also deliver remains to be seen.

In EVE Online, Chinese players prefer to play on the main server in their native language. A local pilot recently reported this to the developers CCP to stop it, and afterwards apologized for it.
A great truth about EVE Online turns out to be not entirely accurate upon closer inspection. Most think there is only one global server for EVE Online, Tranquility. It is located in London. All the erroneous EVE stories that we reported on Mein MMO in the past years occurred there.
Chinese Server Serenity Not So Popular Among Chinese
But besides Tranquility, there is a second server. It is called Serenity and is located in China. It is operated by the local provider Tiancity. Because this server exists, CCP can offer many languages as localization on the main server, but not Chinese.
Because the Chinese are supposed to play on Serenity. But some do not want that. Many Chinese are drawn to Tranquility, where so much more is happening than in their home China. They also want to play the evil in their native language EVE.
Chinese Access to Main Server Unlocked via Hack
As the US site Kotaku reports, some players injected Python code into a modified version of the launcher and were able to unlock the Chinese localization, which is probably actually there but deactivated.
The influx of Chinese players to the global server was fueled by rumors that the Chinese server is closing. However, the local provider Tiancity denies that.
EVE Player Reports Developer, Regrets It Later
The immigrant Chinese formed an alliance on the London server and began to claim territory for themselves. One of the players reported the developers CCP and pointed out the problem. You can read about the events here in the EVE Online forum.
Part of the problem is probably that people who can manipulate the EVE Online code to play in Chinese might also gain other advantages, such as “Autopilot to 0.”
CCP has reacted and closed the security loophole that allowed players to play EVE Online in Chinese. That was never intended.
Kotaku reports that after the change, the Chinese exile alliance lost about 30% of its members.
The player who reported it apologized to thousands of Chinese who would now have language problems and also to his own alliance, which is now losing hordes of potential members.
The players react with mixed feelings. Some praised the player who reported it with “Good job!”, while others murmured, “If only you had kept your mouth shut.” Because more pilots make EVE Online more interesting for many – no matter where they come from.
