In the survival MMO Atlas, everything revolves around the pirate era. Epic ship battles, forming a crew, and treasure hunting are the focus for many players. There is no trace of highly advanced technology. That will change soon.
Pirates and technology? In the first dev stream, the developers showcased a concept for a submarine. Pirates and fantasy are usually at the forefront of the survival MMO. The black powder weapons and cannons are already the most advanced things Atlas has to offer. A submarine seems out of place for the actual setting.
Grapeshot Games explains: Another civilization is said to have already existed in the world of Atlas before the pirates. They were technologically more advanced. The so-called Golden Age also brought the submarine in a steampunk design. Additional technologies are not out of the question.
However, the submarine is not intended for combat. It is unarmed and serves only for exploring the upcoming underwater world, including dungeons and other sights. The developers do not want to pursue the same path as with the TEK updates in ARK: Survival Evolved.
Creative Director Jesse Rapczak commented on the stream:
We respect the world of Atlas and the pirate setting. You shouldn’t imagine it as the TEK updates in Ark, but more like steampunk.
The TEK updates in ARK have continually brought more futuristic items into the game. Like laser weapons for dinosaurs or combat suits in the style of the Power Rangers.
This is how the community reacts: There was a lively discussion in the Twitch chat. User IanWPG says: “I love this game. But if it turns into a TEK fashion show, I’m out.”
How you will get these technical gadgets is still unknown. The developers have mentioned quests and dungeons, but haven’t elaborated on them in detail. These features are still too far in the future.
The update that will bring the submarine to the survival MMO is already planned for February.

If you want a high level on Steam, you have to reach deep into your pockets. The record now stands at over 4,000 – the cost is six figures.
There are these moments when you just shake your head and wonder why a person is pursuing this or that goal. Many might think the same about Steam user St4ck, as he is the first to break the Steam level of 4,000. For that, he needed a lot of games and trading cards, which have a total value of around $250,000 (or about €220,000).
An account with “once everything, please”: Not only is the Steam level of 4087 (at the current status) impressive, but also the sheer amount of games on his account. St4ck now owns nearly 4,700 games and likely possesses more than any person could play through in a lifetime. Boredom will likely not come anytime soon.
What is the Steam level? The Steam level indicates how many card collections a Steam user has completed. While the Steam level initially attracts more spots on the friends list, later levels only provide additional spots for the “Showcases” – these are small highlights that players can showcase on their Steam profile. It is mostly about cosmetic benefits.
How do you collect Steam levels? By collecting card sets, which are available for most games and are traded in the Community Market, you level up. Most games already grant some cards while playing, but to complete a whole set, you generally need to trade or buy cards. Most of the time will likely go to buying and crafting badges, which must be done manually in the Steam menu. The man definitely has endurance – or whoever he has tasked with this.
Who is the player St4ck? The necessary “pocket money” is likely not a problem for St4ck, as he is a member of the royal family of Qatar – which is evident from his private Instagram profile, where he showcases exotic animals and plenty of luxury cars – some of which can also be seen on St4ck’s Steam profile. He certainly spends a lot of time gaming, having logged over 6,000 hours in Counter-Strike, among other games.
What level have you reached in Steam and how many “card badges” have you crafted so far?
The game Atlas is currently struggling with a group called “Black Butterfly.” Members of this group use many cheats to gain advantages in the game. Some actions have now been captured on Twitch.
What happened? It has been known for some time that Atlas has issues with cheats. The developers are currently working on implementing anti-cheat programs into the game.
However, members of the Black Butterfly group are absurdly escalating the situation and using increasingly crazy cheats to gain advantages in the game.
How do the cheats manifest? Currently, some of the craziest cheats from the group include spawning animals and planes to defend their ships.
One action, where whales were called for help, could be seen live in a stream by BurkeBlack. In the midst of a sea battle, the summoned reinforcement in the form of animals provided cover and confused the attackers.

BurkeBlack also witnessed planes being used for defense. When he approached a member of the Black Butterfly, it fell from the sky and nearly hit his ship.

These experiences are not isolated incidents. The Reddit for Atlas is currently flooded with reports about the cheaters. Players are demanding harsh penalties for members of the group.
What else is attributed to Black Butterfly? Yesterday, there was a server rollback in North America. The cause was the takeover of a Steam account. The account belonged to an admin of the pirate MMO.
It is suspected that the group of cheaters is also behind this takeover. Furthermore, it is speculated on Reddit that at least one more admin from Atlas is part of the group.
How are the developers reacting? The response to the denunciation of Black Butterfly was different than players expected.
Instead of taking action against the group, all possible combinations of terms related to the group were blocked on the official Twitch channel. On Reddit, users published a screenshot of this.
Atlas is still played a lot despite the criticism: The ratings on Steam and the threads on Reddit give the impression that the game is in a catastrophic state.
But not only our author Sascha enjoys Atlas. Overall, player numbers and playtimes are extremely good. Up to 30,000 players log in simultaneously at peak times. This places the game in the top 20 of the Steam charts.
For Warframe, two new frames have been announced: Hildryn and Wisp. Hildryn will not have an energy pool to use her abilities. Instead, the developers have come up with something new.
Warframes have four unique skills that they can use in combat. To use these abilities at all, the frames need energy. This can be compared to a mana pool from other games.
Each Warframe actually has a base pool of energy. However, Hildryn does not.
Hildryn uses shields as an energy pool
New mechanic in Warframe: Hildryn will be able to use her abilities by drawing from her shield pool. This has not been seen before in Warframe. How this works in detail is still unknown.
Hildryn is expected to gain some features that will provide buffs to her team. Shield buffs would be conceivable if Hildryn’s kit is already designed to build on shield energy.
Also new: New Warframes always come with their own special weapon. This can be either a primary, secondary, or melee weapon. However, Hildryn comes with an Archwing weapon. Archwings are like jetpacks in Warframe and are equipped with a weapon arsenal.
In the clip below, you can see Hildryn, and at the end, there is an “interesting” bug to observe.

Little is known about Wisp: So far, there is only a drawing of Wisp. Wisp is also the working title for the frame, and the name may still change. Wisp is a female Warframe.
In the image below, you can see Wisp on the left side and Hildryn on the right side.
A huge 2019 for Warframe: The developers at Digital Extremes also present their roadmap for 2019, which will be massive. Here’s what to expect:
Fallout 76 takes place in the future of an alternative world. However, that doesn’t stop the game from presenting fun allusions. One of these allusions references a popular movie and serves as a small retrospective on Bethesda’s history.
What to see: A little northeast of the center of Cranberry Bog, there is a place on the map called “Pylon V-13.” This is located right next to the workshop Bog Town and consists of several tin and wooden huts as well as a homemade staircase.
This staircase leads up to the monorail, for which the Pylon was originally used as support. However, the old rail has been repurposed by a scientist. The Pylon itself is an important location for your search for the Nuka-Cola skin for the Power Armor.
What kind of place is this?
If you search around for a while in the monorail, you’ll find a generator and the holotape of a certain Professor Greebley next to a pile of batteries. There’s also a button at the end of one of the train segments.
An allusion to “Back to the Future”
The entire levitating train could be an allusion to the movie “Back to the Future,” in which Marty McFly and Doc Brown time travel with their DeLorean. Because that’s exactly what Professor Greebley talks about in his press release:
I tell you that time travel is not only possible but can also be conducted interdimensionally! I have developed this radical concept, a new way to jump from timeline to timeline. Instead of using gravity to travel through time in a traditionally clumsy way, I discovered a method to tear a hole in the fabric of our reality.
If one races through this rift at high speed, a time travel effect should occur. In just a few weeks, I will attempt to travel between the dimensions using a monorail as a vehicle.
Professor Greebley’s press release.
The same concept appears in “Back to the Future.” Doc Brown modified a DeLorean so that it time travels to a predetermined date when it reaches 88 miles per hour (about 140 km/h).
If you activate the button at the end of the train in the monorail in Appalachia, you turn on the power supply of a strange construct along the railway. Directly in front of the monorail is a circle covered with metal parts, equipped with Tesla coils, where heavy radioactive radiation prevails.
It is quite possible that this coil is meant to imitate the flux capacitor of the DeLorean, which enables time travel.
By the way, it is not possible to run through fast enough. I and unfortunately an unknown NPC had to find that out, whose skeleton can still be seen on the ground under the circle.
Fan Theory: The journey succeeded
There are some fans on reddit who conclude from Professor Greebley’s press release that the time travel was successful. He left before the war and arrived after the war.
However, since the monorail is destroyed in post-nuclear Appalachia, he had no way to travel back. He was stuck – and died.
Some other fans point out that the name “Pylon V-13” itself is already an allusion. There used to be a “Project V-13” (for Vault 13, the Vault you start with in Fallout 1), which belonged to the Fallout franchise and was supposed to be an online title.
Project V-13 was later renamed Fallout Online shortly after Bethesda took over the franchise. However, after legal disputes, Fallout Online was scrapped, and Project V-13 was picked up by another studio as an independent project.
Project V-13, or Fallout Online, is thus a kind of foreshadowing of Fallout 76. Players see Pylon V-13, especially in connection with time travel, as a small homage from Bethesda to its own history.
What do you think? Is this an Easter egg for Back to the Future, a tribute to Project V-13, or both?
Another Easter egg in the game is significantly more macabre:
In Fortnite , developer Epic might try something brand new: a massive boss fight across multiple servers. The opponent could be the Ice King, a sort of hybrid between Arthas from WoW and the Night King from Game of Thrones.
This is the theory: Some evidence suggests that developer Epic has come up with something entirely new and massive for Fortnite: Battle Royale: a gigantic boss fight.
It would be a battle of millions of players against a huge foe with a massive health point display.
Players would fight this super opponent in various instances and die, but ultimately deal enough damage to take him down. All damage dealt by a player anywhere in the world would affect this boss on all servers.
It would be possible that in each match players have 5 to 10 minutes to gear up before the boss appears. The hope would be that players don’t kill each other but concentrate their firepower on the boss.
This would be a gigantic event and surely create a stir. Such coups keep Fortnite fresh and in the conversation.
Can we really expect such things from Epic? We can expect anything from Epic. It would be a mix of two ideas that have already created a stir in Fortnite:
Also already sowed chaos in Fortnite: Marvel’s Thanos
What kind of final boss could this become? It seems to revolve a lot around the Ice King from Fortnite. This is a character introduced with Season 7.
He resembles well-known figures from pop culture like the Lich King Arthas from World of Warcraft or the “Night King” from Game of Thrones.
Both characters have an affinity for ice and command countless ice zombies.
It is also possible that the Ice King only appears as a summoner, and players might have to fight against a dragon.
When will all this take place? It is still unclear whether Fortnite is actually planning such a boss fight or if other plans are in place. Something is definitely brewing.
Tonight, on Saturday, at 8:00 PM, a countdown will end, and a live event will likely start.
Captured on Friday morning at 9:32.
However, it is possible that this is just the beginning of a series of events that will eventually lead to a boss battle at the end of Season 7.
Phasing in World of Warcraft is a useful thing – at least when it doesn’t ruin the fun of the game and is not exploited.
With the launch of Battle for Azeroth, I have long had the desire for open-PvP in World of Warcraft. I always run around in war mode and do not avoid many skirmishes, even when the enemy is not a familiar roleplayer. However, the more time I spend with PvP, the more frustrated I become with mechanics that are actually good and reasonable.
Today we will discuss phasing and sharding.
What exactly is phasing? In phasing, there are different “variants” of a specific area. An example is Brennadam in the Sturmsangtal region. At first, all players see the phase where Brennadam is still intact, but once the corresponding cinematic has played (with entering the bridge), you are always placed in the new phase where Brennadam was attacked. Only players who are on the same quest progression can enter the same phase and interact with each other.
What is sharding? Sharding is similar in effect to phasing, but has different reasons. A shard can be considered a second instance of an area that is needed when too many players are present. If about 300 players are currently milling about in Sturmsangtal, the WoW technology could simply split the whole thing into two separate Sturmsangtals, allowing everyone to quest in peace.
You can actually notice sharding only when many players from your vicinity disappear or numerous new players appear.
By the way, when players join a group, they end up in the shard of the group leader. That is the only way to “target” switch shards.
The benefit of phasing is obvious, as it allows developers to change the world and display it in different states. This can give quests a special impact, represent large attacks, or stage moving events. The world feels more alive when something really changes.
But the side effects are damn frustrating.
Phasing in PvP as an “I Win” Button
Anyone who regularly engages in a bit of PvP in war mode will already know the following situation: You encounter an enemy player, exchange blows, and constantly reposition yourself. Additional mobs are pulled, and the fight drags on.
One side realizes that they are going to lose and tries to flee. This is also successful, as the fleeing player simply vanishes into thin air. While you wonder and rub your forehead, the name of some small subzone that you just entered appears in the middle of the screen, and it dawns on you: We have been placed in different phases.
I do not attribute malicious intent to most players here. Phasing can occur repeatedly and is annoying when it abruptly ends an exciting fight.
However, it becomes annoying when particularly “engaged” players begin to exploit this system. Because if you pay attention, you can clearly identify the boundaries of the game world and clearly determine where another phase begins. Once you have internalized this, you can basically stand “on the edge” of the phase and simply make a run for it at the right moment.
Sharding is also less controllable here. Because it can work exactly the same way. If you find yourself in the midst of a heated PvP battle, you can – even in the middle of the fight – simply be placed in another shard. This experience is frustrating but occurs much less frequently.
Anchorweed and Treasure Chests are My End Bosses
Similarly annoying to disappearing players are also other game contents that differ from phase to phase. I am sure every herbalist knows the following scene: The icon for Anchorweed appears on the minimap, currently the most valuable plant from BfA. However, as you ride towards the herb, it disappears right before your eyes, as if another player has already gathered it. Frustrated, you ride back, only to see that the Anchorweed reappears – it is in another phase that is currently unreachable.
The same goes for treasure chests, which you search for minutes only to then find out that the phasing also ensures that the treasure chest remains unreachable and taunts you as you ride by.
I appreciate what phasing and sharding achieve in theory and how they make quests livelier and the game world more interesting. But all the “side effects” are just too much for me. This is one of the very few points where I can really say, “Well, that was better in Classic” – and I don’t say that often.
What has been your experience with phasing? Do you find it good in its current form because it makes quests more exciting? Or is it rather annoying and disruptive?
Destiny 2 will receive a major update on January 29th. Among other things, there will be numerous adjustments for the Black Armory forges. What will change?
But not only the sandbox is affected by this update. The player experience around the Black Armory forges is also set to improve at the same time.
Changes with the January update 2.1.4 at the forges
What has already changed: The first change occurred shortly after the launch of the first forge, Völundr. The initial level requirement turned out to be too high, preventing many players from immediately diving into the new content. Subsequently, Bungie nerfed the forge and lowered the requirements.
These changes are still to come: Since then, the studio has been diligently gathering feedback and will implement the following changes on January 29th to improve the forge experience:
The ballistic logs required to acquire a Powerful Weapon Form from Ada-1 will no longer be removed by the Weekly Reset. So, if you have less time one week, this will not have a significant impact on the logs
Additionally, players will be able to carry up to 5 ballistic logs in their inventory
Furthermore, you will receive the following refunds if you keep unfinished weapon forms beyond the Weekly Reset: for Gold Forms you receive 1 ballistic log back, for Silver Forms 3 Modulus Reports. You can continue to acquire up to 2 Gold Forms per week
Each Glimmer Matrix required to convert a calibrated weapon form at Ada-1 into a Glimmer will be removed with the Weekly Reset
There should no longer be any weapon forms disappearing or missing from Ada’s inventory from week to week
The lore of the Black Armory will then be available more frequently. The drop rate has been increased from 10% to 20%. However, a successful forge ignition is now required to have a chance for a drop
If Modulus Reports or ballistic logs are lost, they will go to the post office with the new update and will not simply disappear
Forge badges obtained through completions of the forges will no longer require the completion of a specific loot run
The quest step of the Gofannon forge, where players need to take out a high-value target on Nessus, will no longer require players to deal the final blow to the target for the step to be counted. Progress will then count for all members of the fireteam
Issues with the mysterious chest will be addressed: Missing keys for the mysterious chest will be applied retroactively: In some cases, the keys for the chest can disappear upon being used, without being applied. This has then blocked progress. These keys will be applied retroactively
Additionally, Bungie has hinted that more changes and bug fixes for the forges may be included in the final update.
This is what the January update brings for owners of the Annual Pass: All those who own the Year Pass for Forsaken can look forward to the exotic quest “The Temptation” on January 29th. This quest also comes as part of the update 2.1.4 and is intended to lead players to the 5th and final exotic weapon of the “Black Armory” DLC – the hand cannon “The Last Word”.
What do you think of these changes? Do they resolve the most annoying issues surrounding the Black Armory forges? Or do you have other problem areas that diminish your gaming experience there?

In Fortnite: Battle Royale, clues about new PvE enemies are piling up. Data leaks predict zombies and an ice event seems to be on the way. Players are wondering: When does the live event in Fortnite start today on Saturday? At what time does it begin?
When does the live event start? The live event in Fortnite is likely to start tonight, Saturday, January 19th, at 8:00 PM CET.
What will happen today? We don’t know exactly what will happen in the live event, but many indications suggest that in the coming weeks:
It is possible that a cutscene will start at 8:00 PM, similar to the butterfly event in November, followed by a new event with ice zombies. This could lead to a gigantic boss fight in the coming weeks.
And then there are the icy dragon eggs beneath the fortress…
What are the clues about the zombies? Initially, sound files were found that signal thunder and the moaning of zombies. There was talk of a “Deimos Spawn”. Deimos means “dread” and is actually a war demon from Greek mythology.
Then an image of the icy version of one of the monsters was even found and shared in the code.
TVs sending weather warnings – Is the next event on the way?
In addition to the zombie leaks, there are more hints about an upcoming major event. TVs have recently been sending a weather warning. It seems a snowstorm is approaching.
Many fans believe that the weather warning could be related to the also leaked new ice event, which is expected to come with additional challenges, similar to what happened during Christmas.
Are the zombies coming this Saturday evening?
Currently, a timer is visible on the TVs. It is counting down to Saturday evening at 8:00 PM our time.
Taken on Friday morning at 9:32.
Everything points to a nasty ice chaos in Fortnite
These clues have also appeared: Besides the TVs, the leaked title picture from week 8 provides a good hint about the ice event. It shows the Ice King standing atop his fortress tower, summoning a snowstorm.
This fits with the mysterious ice orb hovering over that very fortress. The orb freezes the screens of anyone who climbs high enough and emits strange sounds.
These, in turn, form the image of the dark Ice King in a spectrograph.
When is the event likely to start? It could start next week with the event and likely also the ice zombies.
And then there are the icy dragon eggs beneath the fortress…
Since Shiny Zigzagoon has been in Pokémon GO, players are concerned with one question: Can such a Shiny also become Ditto?
What has happened? Through the Hoenn Event in Pokémon GO, you can now catch the shiny form of Zigzagoon. Zigzagoon is actually a Pokémon that can transform into Ditto. So what happens if you catch a Shiny Zigzagoon and it evolves into Ditto?
Zigzagoon can no longer be Ditto
This is the answer: Players’ concerns are unfounded. Niantic removed Zigzagoon from the pool of Ditto Pokémon with the introduction of the shiny version. It definitely does not transform into Ditto anymore.
This is how it has been handled so far: Magikarp and Gastly could also transform into Ditto. However, they were removed from the pool after the release of their shiny forms.
Which Pokémon can still be Ditto? The list of Pokémon that can transform into Ditto is still long. A total of 10 more Pokémon could hide a Ditto. You can find the complete list here:
What do I need Ditto for? If you are still stuck on the special research for Mew and Meltan, you need a Ditto. You are required to catch one Ditto each. So you no longer have to hope that Zigzagoon will transform into Ditto.
Therefore, it could become difficult: The chance of catching a Ditto at the moment is low. Since the Hoenn Event is ongoing, you primarily find Pokémon from Generation 3. In this generation, only Swablu and Surskit can become Ditto. Most of the Ditto Pokémon are from Generation 1 and 2.
So if you are still looking for a Ditto, you will have bad luck during the event, but things will improve on January 29. The Hoenn Event will end, and the spawns will return to normal.
For the Meltan quest, you also need to catch other Pokémon. The current field researches will help you with that:
The new Battle Royale mode “Shadow Arena” is very well received by players of Black Desert Online. Many are finally having fun in the MMO again. What is the reason for this?
Black Desert has received its own Battle Royale mode with Shadow Arena. Fans are celebrating the arena, and in some places, it even surpasses traditional PvP. Some of the most praised features of the Shadow Arena include:
No Pay-to-Win
No advantages from equipment earned earlier in the game; skill and luck decide
Battle Royale creates fairness: Anyone wanting to participate in PvP in Black Desert must bring the appropriate equipment and invest a lot of time. Longtime players therefore have not only an experience advantage but also an equipment advantage. In the Shadow Arena, none of this is the case.
As a result, more depends on skill, and the advantage of players who have spent an inordinate amount of time farming is reduced. In the Shadow Arena, one needs more luck; better equipment is found randomly in the Battle Royale mode. But the differences are limited. Even casual players have a chance. The focus is thus more on the fight. The often-praised combat system appears even better because of this, it is said.
One major criticism is eliminated: Black Desert players often accuse the game of being Pay-To-Win. Therefore, it is all the more positive that there is currently no way to spend real money in the Battle Royale mode. Players express their goodwill particularly in some comments because of this.
Players are nice to each other: In PvP in Black Desert, things can sometimes get pretty rough. Some players can become derogatory after defeating another player or being defeated themselves. But currently, players are behaving well in the Shadow Arena.
This might also be because players in the Shadow Arena are not using their own character and therefore have less to lose.
A player writes: “The Shadow Arena is the most fun that I and everyone I know have had in Black Desert Online lately.”

What is the Shadow Arena? The Shadow Arena is a new Battle Royale mode in Black Desert Online.
When you start the Shadow Arena, you begin as a small Black Spirit. This is more or less a cute little monster. As a Black Spirit, you are weak and lose health points steadily.
However, Black Spirits have the ability to take over certain NPCs. Your first task is to find one of the seven playable classes and take over its body. Since you start in different locations each time, improvisation is required.
Can I just jump in? In the Shadow Arena, players must gather their equipment themselves. No player has any advantage. The dynamic combat system of Black Desert helps to separate the wheat from the chaff among players. It only depends on the individual player skills.
The playing area of the map gets smaller over the course of the match, forcing fights. The player who is the last one alive wins.
Classes provide different advantages: Currently, some classes deal too much damage, while others are very weak. According to players, developer Pearl Abyss still needs to address this.
Depending on which class players start a match with, they have different advantages. Certain classes are stronger in the early game, while others benefit more from the late game. Strategic play is particularly important, according to a player on Reddit.
Are you considering giving Black Desert and the Shadow Arena a chance?
All races in The Elder Scrolls Online are being revamped and will receive new passive abilities. Here’s what the changes mean for you.
Why is ESO changing the racial bonuses? Players are currently encouraged to choose a specific race based on their class. For example, many players choose a High Elf if they want to play as a Mage, as High Elves provide Magicka bonuses. The same issue exists with Redguard. These are currently the best race if you want to play a damage dealer that relies on stamina.
In The Elder Scrolls Online, players should be able to build the class they want to play. However, the current racial bonuses do not allow this, as certain race and class combinations are better than others.
The changes are set to go live with Update 21. PC players can try out the changes on the ESO Public Test Server starting next week.
All Races Are Being Revamped
Here’s how the racial bonuses are changing: In The Elder Scrolls Online, there are 10 different races, of which only 9 are included in the base game. If you want to play as an Imperial, you must purchase the Imperial Edition from the Crown Store.
The following are all the changes being made to the passive racial bonuses. Abilities that remain unchanged, such as the increased swimming speed of Argonians, will not be listed.
High Elves receive bonuses that enhance their Magicka and increase their spell damage. They also recover Magicka or Stamina when they use a class ability, and damage taken is reduced by 5% while channeling an ability.
Argonians have more health, are immune to diseases, and can resist them better. Their healing is increased by 4%, they have more Magicka, and they recover Magicka, Stamina, and health when they drink a potion.
Wood Elves regenerate Stamina faster and have more of it. They are immune to poisons and can resist them better. Additionally, they detect cloaked targets from a greater distance, and after a roll, their movement speed increases by 20% for 3 seconds.
Bretons gain more maximum Magicka. They also take less damage from spells and regenerate Magicka faster. Their abilities cost 7% less Magicka.
Dark Elves gain more maximum Magicka, Stamina, and health. They also cannot be ignited and can resist fire better. Their weapon and spell damage is increased.
Imperials have more maximum health and Stamina. Additionally, they have a 15% chance to heal for 1,750 when they deal direct damage. The costs of blocking and interrupting are reduced by 5%.
Khajiit regenerate health, Stamina, and Magicka faster. Additionally, their maximum Stamina, health, and Magicka are increased. Their critical strike chance for spell and weapon damage is increased by 8%. They are also harder to detect.
Nords gain more maximum Stamina and health. They also receive 5 ultimate power every 10 seconds when they are hit. They take less damage from physical and magical attacks and can resist cold better.
Orcs have more maximum health and Stamina. They can recover 380 health and Stamina every 4 seconds when they deal damage with a weapon skill. Healing on them is 4% more effective. Their weapon damage is increased, sprinting costs less Stamina, and they sprint faster.
Redguards gain more maximum Stamina. The costs of their weapon skills are reduced by 8%. When they deal direct damage with an attack, they recover 950 Stamina every 5 seconds.
Every account will receive an item that allows them to change the race of one character once.
In the official ESO forum and on Reddit, players are discussing the announced changes. While some players feel that the developers have mostly tinkered with class balance and haven’t really changed much, others are not yet able to assess the extent.
They want to experiment with the racial bonuses on the ESO Public Test Server to see how they affect their builds. Many players hope for multiple free race changes, as some have up to 15 characters and may need to adjust multiple races to adapt to the changes.
Your Thoughts on the Changes
Mein-MMO users are for and against: When developer Zenimax announced changes to the races, players reacted very differently. A survey in the ESO forum found that only 31% of players viewed the changes positively. In contrast, 26% were neutral and 40% saw them negatively.
Reader Faceplam writes, for example, that in ESO the choice of race should only be cosmetic. Soldier224 shares a similar opinion. He wants to choose races not because of the bonuses, but because of the culture.
For reader N0ma, a problem is that there are races in The Elder Scrolls Online that work better with certain builds. He suggests that the race change should be free for everyone at all times. Reader David Blizzard Naumann is also in favor of changing the racial bonuses.
Reader Compadre is neutral about the whole situation. He finds it makes sense that an Orc is not good at casting magic. However, no race is currently useless.
What do you think about the changes to the racial bonuses?

Today, the mysterious vendor Xur pays the Guardians a visit in Destiny 2. Where is the Agent of the Nine located? And what does he have to offer?
This week was important: After the excitement around the separation of Bungie and Activision has slowly subsided, things are relatively calm in Destiny 2 this week.
Since the Weekly Reset on January 15. the first Iron Banner of 2019 is in full swing. Anyone still needing to level their Guardians should check out this week-long PvP event. Because there you can grab an additional 7 Powerful Engrams on top of the usual weekly routine and make a decent push towards max power level.
In addition, many Guardians are currently discussing the fate of former Destiny 2 head Luke Smith. He has almost completely disappeared from the scene after the launch of Destiny 2. Fans assumed that he had to take the fall for the much-criticized Destiny 2 or was already working on Destiny 3. But as it turns out today, he has risen to be the Destiny Franchise Director and is thus the new strong man behind the Destiny series.
All information about Xur in Destiny 2 on January 18 at PS4, Xbox One, and PC
Today, the mysterious vendor Xur is also visiting the Guardians. Many fans still secretly hope that the Agent of the Nine will one day have some of the newer exotics with him. Is it finally the case today? Let’s welcome Xur together and take a look at his wares.
When does Xur come today? – The times
Xur time: Traditionally, Friday is always Xur day in the Destiny universe – as it is in Destiny 2. In winter, the exotic vendor with the noodle face always arrives at 6 PM our time. He can be found at random locations in the game world, where he makes himself comfortable for a few days and brings his exotics to the Guardians.
How long does Xur stay? While Xur is not a permanently available vendor, he gives the Guardians plenty of time to stock up. Players have until January 22 to get their desired items from him, should he have something suitable. Xur then disappears again right on time for the Weekly Reset at 6:00 PM.
Where is Xur? You can find him today at this location
You can find Xur this week on Io. He has settled in the area “The Riven’s Tear”.

This month, EA Sports released the FIFA 19 Bundesliga POTM. And once again, Marco Reus has won the title. The card is really strong and has top stats. But the fans have had enough.
The POTM hat-trick: “He has done it again!” With these words, EA Sports announced via Twitter the Bundesliga “Player of the Month” for December 2018.
Reus receives the coveted title “Player of the Month” for the third time.
This card is so strong: The new card raises the bar again: With a total rating of 91, the 3rd POTM card is one point stronger than the November version. Pace, dribbling, shooting, passing – all absolutely top.
Reus SBC extremely expensive
How you get POTM Reus: As usual, you need to complete four part SBCs to unlock the Reus card. This month it is particularly expensive: According to Futbin, the new POTM SBC costs you around one million coins.
Moreover, there is once again a missing option that many wished for in November: It is still not possible to exchange an old POTM Reus card for the new one.
Fans have had enough of Reus
This is how FIFA fans react: Last month, some FIFA players expressed their dissatisfaction with the repeated choice of Reus. The POTM award has been given four times so far, and four times players from Borussia Dortmund have won: three times Reus, once Jadon Sancho.
With competition from Lewandowski, Alaba, Kruse, Kimmich, and Gerhardt, players had hoped that Reus’ dominance in FIFA 19 would be interrupted. But once again, the BVB captain prevailed.
These are the funniest comments: While some players vent their anger about the choice on social networks, many take it with humor:
For example, a player pointed out the many special cards: “Think of the perfect links between Inform-Reus, POTM-Reus, POTM2-Reus and Champions-League-Reus.” Reus now has seven cards in FUT. And there could be more to come.
Some players suggest renaming it to “Reus of the Month.” That would have one positive outcome: By June at the latest, Marco Reus would then have the best FIFA card of all time.
Strong cards can also be found in the “Future Stars” event, which starts tonight. More on that:
Cooler Master has launched its first gaming mouse, the MM830, which is specifically aimed at MMO players. In terms of features, it does a few things differently.
Control pad instead of button grid: While other MMO mice, such as the Corsair Scimitar Pro or the Razer Naga Trinity, rely on having a lot of extra buttons, the MM830 comes with only four.
In Cooler Master’s new mouse, the extra buttons are integrated as a control pad (or “D-Pad”) on the left side of the thumb rest and can be freely assigned macros thanks to onboard storage.
Mouse with display: In addition to the common RGB lighting found in gaming mice (4 zones), a small OLED display is also integrated on the left side, which is a quite rare feature.
The small screen has a resolution of 96 x 64 pixels and can be customized to display DPI values, CPU usage of the PC, and more or simply to show various graphics.
Further technical specifications:
a total of 8 programmable buttons are available in 5 profiles (via software)
the adjustable resolution of the optical sensor is up to 24,000 dpi at a polling rate of 1,000 Hz
thanks to Omron switch technology, the buttons are said to be especially durable (20 million clicks)
the scroll wheel offers a 2-way operation
PBT plastic is said to protect the top and main buttons particularly well against wear
the connection cable (USB) is covered with a textile sheath

Price and availability: The Cooler Master MM830 is expected to be available immediately at a suggested retail price of 79.99 euros. In the price comparison at Geizhals.de, it is currently listed from around 62 euros plus shipping costs, but not available for immediate shipment. It was originally presented at CES 2018.
Is the mouse worth it? Considering the technical specifications of the sensor and others, the model should be beyond any doubt regarding its gaming suitability.
However, the only four extra buttons might be too few for some MMO enthusiasts. On the other hand, we also often hear voices about too many buttons, especially since MMOs nowadays rely more on combos and fewer skills.
In this respect, the number of four buttons could also simply represent an ideal addition to the keyboard, without losing their effectiveness and living their existence as an unwanted appendage.
Whether the OLED display in everyday use is nothing more than a nice gimmick that you quickly forget is ultimately dependent on the user.
In the test:MMORPG.com recently put the model to the test and praises almost all aspects of the mouse.
Only the position of the right D-Pad button is perceived as being too far to the right, as is the position of the display concerning the quick viewing of information. Otherwise, there is a recommendation:
If you are looking for a highly customizable mouse that offers incredible depth of control with a stylish touch of RGB, this mouse may be worth a look. The Cooler Master MasterMouse MM830 is truly unique.
Alternatives: We documented which current mice are also great for gaming, especially for MMO titles, in a market overview last year:
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, players are currently wondering about the sudden scarcity of shield potions. This could be due to a new item in the game. This is disrupting the drop rates.
What’s going on with the shields? Many players in Fortnite are currently reporting a noticeable shortage of shield potions. The useful potions are said to spawn much less frequently since Update 7.20 than they did before the patch.
The issue has already led to funny memes about the topic emerging on Reddit. One player even issued a search notice for the shield potions.
Is this the reason for the shield scarcity?
According to some players, the new items from Update 7.20 are to blame. Since the patch, reusable gliders have been introduced as new items. And they seem to be dropping quite often in Fortnite.
Could the gliders possibly share the same loot spawn slot as shield potions and are disproportionately spawning more often than the shields due to a bug?
Then every potential shield spawn would compete with a glider spawn, which would explain the current rarity of shield potions.
This is how the problem could be solved: Many players are unhappy with the situation, as being without shields makes one an easy target. Epic has not yet provided a statement on the matter. However, there are already various ideas from the community:
Epic should implement an additional loot spawn slot in chests that contains gliders and other items. Then shields would return to their previous state, chests would have more loot, and gliders would still drop quite often.
The developers should introduce the gameplay mechanics from a previous Pop-Up Cup tournament. There, players could regenerate shields and health by getting kills.
Other players, however, find it okay that there are fewer shields. It wasn’t any different back in Season 1, one just has to play more carefully!
What do you think about this? Is Fortnite more exciting without shields or should Epic quickly fix the problem?
The eye of the player seems to be on other, new games like Anthem. But our author Schuhmann says: Hey, Destiny 2 “Black Armory” is really not that bad.
So it was at the launch of Black Armory: Yes, I am somehow 6 weeks behind. When Destiny 2 “Black Armory” started, I was at about Power Level 550. The new activities that came, only started at around 615.
Most of the time I was wandering around quite aimlessly. When I wanted to do some activities in the Dreaming City, the Taken kicked my ass.
I took 3 attempts for a mission where I was hopelessly under-leveled, had to retreat whenever a Goblin looked at me sideways, and regularly got my ass kicked.
Thinking about the new activities was out of the question: Black Armory was definitely not a DLC for me at the beginning of December.
That has changed: But in the last few weeks, I have really found fun in Destiny 2. With the Winter event “The Dawn” there were plenty of upgrade cores and suddenly the milestones were falling like crazy. This allowed me to regularly find better items and infuse them into my gear.
And I have been able to gradually acquire decent weapons:
Some might wrinkle their noses at the loadout. But I feel surprisingly comfortable with these weapons.
This is my Destiny weekly rhythm: I have also found my groove in Destiny 2, logging in regularly in the evenings and completing the milestones:
The Flashpoint and the heroic adventure are quick to complete – that usually starts on Tuesday
Once a week I tackle 3 Strikes – usually on Thursday
Otherwise, I mainly go into Gambit – that mode has become really fun for me
This gradually brought me a higher Power Level.
The item has changed my game: In Gambit, I also found a decent piece of armor for my Titan: the One-Eyed Mask. The gag with the helmet is “Whoever deals damage to one is marked and you regain full health when you kill them.”
This has remarkably changed my gameplay – when I’m out in PvE or Gambit, I always check where the guy is that I can take down to heal myself.
Colleague Albrecht, to whom I told about my miraculous find, only had “That’s actually a PvP item” in response for the mask – but I like it.
In between, I discovered a seed in the Blind Well and ran around for a while as a Striker. Eventful days as Captain America.
So was my first contact with Black Armory: Armed and now at Light Level 615, I took a look into the Forge at the end of December.
In the Forge, hordes of enemies with slightly stronger mini-bosses come regularly. They must be taken out and then a core must be thrown into the forge like a baseball. There is a time limit: If you kill the enemies too slowly, it runs out and the attempt fails.
My teams regularly failed during the first attempts.
So back again, I swept through every milestone for two more weeks, farmed gear, infused it, and pushed my Power Level up.
This is how Destiny 2 has changed for me: With Light Level 625 sometime in January 2019, I completed the Forge that others began back in December. I explored a new part of Destiny 2 again.
With the new Power Level, I can now also comfortably roam in the Dreaming City and easily completed the mission that I struggled with brutally 6 weeks ago.
The interesting thing for me about Destiny 2 right now is how the game gradually opens up with higher Power Levels. Compared to early December, I now feel much more comfortable in Destiny 2 and I am able to explore the game.
In a certain way, Destiny 2 has become a “new game” for me in the past few weeks – which is what many Destiny veterans expect of Anthem.
Of course, I will check that out as well. But first, I will make sure to reach Power Level 650 in Destiny so that I don’t fall 6 weeks behind again for the next DLC.
On Friday, FIFA 19 will bring a completely new promo with the “Future Stars” event. The focus is on top talents who could become world stars in the future.
This was the “Puzzle”: Just after the TOTY event ended, a new announcement appeared in the game. The only content: The date 18.01.2019. The community was puzzled: What would happen on Friday? Is there a winter upgrade? Or already new OTW cards?
Now the cat is out of the bag: Instead of a known promotion, EA Sports brings a completely new event to Ultimate Team. The “Future Stars” event puts talents in the spotlight who are not yet established stars but could mature into world-class players in the future.
These are all Future Stars cards
Update 18.01.2019, 4 PM – Complete team known: After first introducing the “Future Stars” cards of Phil Foden (88/Manchester City), Vinicius Junior (92/Real Madrid), and Matthis de Ligt (92/Ajax Amsterdam) under the motto “Believe the Hype,” those of Justin Kluivert (87/AS Roma), Houssem Aouar (91/Olympique Lyon), and Dortmund’s Achraf Hakimi (86/BVB) followed on Thursday evening. Since Friday at 4 PM, the complete squad is known. The “Future Stars” are:
Vinicius Junior (92/Real Madrid)
Matthis de Ligt (92/Ajax Amsterdam)
Houssem Aouar (91/Olympique Lyon)
Phil Foden (88/Manchester City)
Luka Jovic (88/Eintracht Frankfurt)
Dayot Upamecano (88/RB Leipzig)
Lafont (90/Florenz)
Jadon Sancho (90/Borussia Dortmund)
Arthur (90/FC Barcelona)
Kai Havertz (90/Bayer Leverkusen)
Trent Alexander-Arnold (89/Liverpool)
Cutrone (89/AC Mailand)
Bentancur (89/Juventus Turin)
Grimaldo (88/Benfica)
Calabria (88/AC Mailand)
Eder Militao (87/Porto)
Mendy (87/Olympique Lyon)
Justin Kluivert (87/AS Roma)
Guendouzi (87/Arsenal)
Calvert-Lewin (86/Everton)
Achraf Hakimi (86/Borussia Dortmund)
This is how the ratings are determined: The ratings represent what EA calls the “Potential future ratings” – that is, the possible rating that players could have in the future. With the boosted stats, the talents can already keep up with elite players today.
This is how the event works – SBCs and packs
Players in packs: The 21 Future Stars will be available in packs from 7 PM. The probability will be as high as that of the normal player cards. Thus, some of the super talents could be pulled even from silver packs.
More SBC players: Additionally, there will be six more talents that can be unlocked in SBCs. Which ones precisely are still unknown. To qualify as a “Future Star,” there are currently only two criteria:
The player must be at most 23 years old
The player must not be an established star yet
Moreover, there will be a vote for the final “Future Star.” This will take place this weekend via Player Pick in the game itself. The candidates are:
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
Allan Saint-Maximin (OGC Nice)
Reiss Nelson (TSG Hoffenheim)
Krzysztof Piatek (Genoa)
Brahim Díaz (Real Madrid)
These players were expected by the fans: The FIFA community had already been busy guessing. And some were even right: Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund was often mentioned. The attacker is having a great season and has already claimed the POTM award. Other names included Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Frenkie de Jong (Ajax Amsterdam), or Kieran Tierney (Celtic).
Sancho was already POTM – and now also a “Future Star”
Logically, the candidate list closely resembles that of the best talents in career mode. Players like Gianluigi Donnarumma or Marcus Rashford were also mentioned, who fall under the age rule.
This is how the community reacts
Players surprised by the new event: Overall, the first reactions on Twitter, Reddit & Co. are mixed. On the one hand, players are happy about the new event and especially new cards. After all, this way players get upgrades that were not present in Team of the Week, Team of the Year, or other promos.
The TOTY event brought, among other things, the best FUT card of all time, but also caused frustration.
On the other hand, it is criticized that seemingly every player in the game has some sort of special card now. It makes it hard to keep track. Furthermore, the short time since the TOTY event is being looked at critically. This event already showed how frustrating Ultimate Team can be. Now players fear that the new event primarily aims to encourage pack purchases again.
The campaign of The Division 2 will likely last significantly longer than that of the first part. Possibly even twice as long.
This is how long the campaign was in The Division 1: The story of The Division 1 had a relatively large scope compared to conventional shooters. According to the site Howlongtobeat.com, players took an average of 20 hours to complete it.
As it stands, the story campaign of The Division 2 will easily surpass that. But how long will it take to master?
Story campaign of The Division 2 is almost twice as extensive
This is the approximate playtime: The story of The Division 2 will likely take around 40 hours of gameplay. That would be significantly more than its predecessor. This number varies depending on the type of player.
The information comes from a Reddit user. They found a product description for The Division 2 on game.co.uk. The description states a campaign length of 40 hours.
What do we know about the campaign? The story of The Division 2 takes place about 7 months after the events of the first part. This time not in New York, but in sunny Washington D.C. As a survivor of the incident in NYC, you come to the U.S. capital where the headquarters of the Division is located. Right in the White House, as the new story trailer revealed.
The players’ task is to restore order in the fallen city, stabilize the area, and rebuild the Division. However, they find themselves right in the middle of a civil war. Therefore, you must work with surviving civilians. Together, you will go against the hostile factions that have settled in D.C.
