The action RPG Anthem comes with many new features. According to some players, these could be better explained in the game.
What is the problem? Anthem was released on February 22nd. Some players were able to test the shooter in the demo and in early access, but felt a bit lost: In their opinion, Anthem brings many fresh features that are inadequately explained in the game itself.
In the Anthem subreddit, user TzarWolfie has compiled a list of things that he believes are simply not sufficiently explained. The post has already accumulated nearly 5,000 upvotes.
What should be explained better? TzarWolfie has listed some features that play an important role in the game, but in his opinion are hardly explained. What good is it to Anthem if it has great gameplay features that no one understands?
Primer and Detonator
This is unclear: According to TzarWolfie, Primers and Detonators belong to the most important system the game has to offer, but are hardly explained. The tutorial section in the Cortex only briefly touches upon the terms.
This is how it works: Primers are abilities that apply a negative status effect to enemies and are marked in-game with a circle icon. Detonators trigger a combo on an enemy that was hit with a Primer attack and are marked in-game with a star.
Is this Interceptor ability a Primer or Detonator?
Combo Effects
This is unclear: The four different Javelins receive different effects when they trigger a combo. According to the player, this is another feature that is hardly mentioned in the game.
This is how it works: The combo system is an important feature with which the different Javelins can trigger synergies and thus deal more damage. These effects trigger combos for the respective Javelins:
Ranger deals increased damage to a single target
The Colossus deals area damage around the target
Storm transfers the elemental effect to nearby enemies
The Interceptor receives an aura that depends on the elemental effect with which he attacks the target
Everything about Primers, Detonators, and Combo Effects we have here for you:
Description for Components, Perks, and Inscription
This is unclear: This point is the most unclear for TzarWolfie, as the game has so many different keywords, descriptions, and status effects, such as for components, equipment, and weapons, where no one really knows what they do.
What do terms like aura combo pulse frequency, effect build-up, or combo chain mean? According to the player, the terminology in Anthem needs another revision.
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Challenges
This is unclear: Do you also always go to Lucky Jak and his hourglasses to pick up your challenges and think that you only have one daily, weekly, and monthly task to choose from? Or do you wonder what rewards you have received for the tasks?
This is how it works: Check your Cortex under Challenges and “Path to Glory”. There are more challenges waiting for you because you can also take on more tasks.
You can read which rewards you have received for the respective challenges under the “Challenge” tab. According to TzarWolfie, this is another detail that should be explained more clearly in the game.
The game also does not tell you what rewards you receive for a rank-up with the factions. For example, players unlock new metals for personalizing their Javelin with each rank-up. The metal that transforms the Ranger into Iron Man, for instance, is available at reputation rank 3 with the Arcanists. However, this is not explained anywhere and is hidden under “Reputation” in the Cortex.
What do you think? Is Anthem really not explained enough or is it just right? Which features would you like to see explained in more detail?
In Pokémon GO, you will soon be able to switch teams! Niantic confirms that this feature will be implemented in a few days.
A wish from many players: The team switch has been requested by many players, and now Niantic is finally implementing this feature.
If you had chosen the wrong team and could not take gyms with your friends, that will change now. With the team change in Pokémon GO, every player can now switch their team.
This is known about the team switch
From when can you switch? Niantic states that the start time for the team switch is February 26. An item will be available in the shop at 10 PM that will allow you to switch.
How does the change work? To switch, you must purchase the Team Medallion in the in-game shop. Only with this item is a switch possible.
How much does the team switch cost? This item costs 1000 Pokécoins, which is approximately 10 euros. After purchasing the medallion, you can use the item and perform the team switch.
How often can you switch teams? You cannot switch teams daily. In 365 days, a switch is only possible once. If you choose a different team, you must swear loyalty to that team for at least a year.
You must note: If you still have Pokémon in gyms that you need for gold, you should wait a bit. When you switch teams, all your Pokémon will return to you. You will not sit in any gyms anymore. You also will not receive coins for their return.
What do you think about the team switch? Will you change your color?
However, some players fear that a team color will go extinct:
With the major update 2.2.0, there will be significant changes in March for Destiny 2 in the next season. Among other things, one of the most powerful Titan Exotics will be nerfed, and some weapon categories will be adjusted.
What happened? In the latest edition of the “This Week at Bungie” blog, the developers provided a brief insight into the changes that will come to the Guardians with the March update 2.2.0.
The most important thing: The One-Eyed Mask of the Titan will be nerfed. Additionally, a lot will change for shotguns and linear fusion rifles.
This is how the One-Eyed Mask will change
Many fans, especially PvP players, have been waiting for this. The exotic Titan helmet One-Eyed Mask will finally be revised by Bungie after months of demands from numerous players.
What defines the One-Eyed Mask? The exotic perk Revenge marks enemies that deal damage to you for 15 seconds. If you then eliminate this foe, the mask grants its wearer increased damage, health regeneration, and an overshield.
This is the issue with this exotic helmet: In its current form, the mask is considered overpowered and is essentially the most common Titan Exotic in the Crucible. Enemies are marked for a long time, the wearer can fully recover after a kill, and subsequently deals increased damage.
This is how the One-Eyed Mask will change: The changes should keep the mask effective, but there should be more opportunities to counter the wearer.
The duration of the exotic perk Revenge will be reduced from 15 to 8 seconds.
Additionally, health will regenerate differently. Previously, health was fully restored after a kill. The overshield charged over time. Now, health will also charge over time.
The exotic perk Revenge will no longer trigger during the super. This made the wearer almost invincible.
Bungie emphasizes that they will continue to listen to player feedback and can make further adjustments if necessary.
These weapon changes come with the new update
In addition to the adjustments to the One-Eyed Mask, several changes will also be made to two weapon categories. Currently, shotguns and linear fusion rifles are affected.
This is changing with linear fusion rifles: Bungie found this weapon category to be too dominant, especially in Gambit – particularly the Sleeper Simulant and the Queenbreaker. Therefore, they have now made some further adjustments:
The aim-assist of linear fusion rifles will be adjusted to reduce effectiveness at very long distances. This will especially be noticeable with the Queenbreaker. A problem has been identified where this exotic weapon had more than double the aim-assist than intended.
As compensation for this nerf, linear fusion rifles will receive a 10% damage increase in PvE.
This is changing with shotguns: For shotguns, changes will primarily be made to the rapid-fire archetype and the fully automatic perk.
This perk essentially doubled the damage output of every shotgun. As a result, rapid-fire shotguns were predominantly used in PvE. Now, other archetypes should also see more use.
Here are the upcoming changes for shotguns:
Shotguns will receive a damage multiplier in PvE. This should nearly double the damage dealt. The only exception: the exotic shotgun Legend of Acrius.
The fire rate bonus of the fully automatic perk for shotguns will be reduced from +100% to +10%.
The standard fire rate of the different archetypes will change.
Aggressive shotguns will fire at 55 rounds per minute (previously 45).
Precision shotguns will fire at 70 rounds per minute (previously 55).
Lightweight shotguns will fire at 80 rounds per minute (previously mistakenly stated as 90).
Rapid-fire shotguns will fire at 140 rounds per minute (previously 200 due to fully automatic).
The base damage for shotguns has been consistently lowered to match the new fire rates.
Ammunition reserves have been adjusted, as their efficiency has been increased due to more damage per shot.
The range of shotguns has been slightly reduced in PvP, where they can achieve a one-hit kill.
What do you think of the nerf to the One-Eyed Mask? And what are your thoughts on the upcoming weapon adjustments?
When new special research comes to Pokémon GO, the tasks will likely be designed a bit differently. That’s what Niantic says.
What is it about? The special research in Pokémon GO are special task series that players can complete. There is also a story to follow. In the end, a special reward awaits, such as the mythical Pokémon Mew. It can only be obtained through this special research, not found in the wild.
In the future, the format in which the special research takes place might change. An employee from Niantic explains that they are still working on the fine-tuning.
Who spoke? Matt Slemon is a Product Manager at Niantic and spoke in an interview with Polygon about the past, present, and future of Pokémon GO.
What did he say? As Polygon reports, changes to the special research are probably planned. It seems that they want to create tasks that players will remember more vividly in the future.
Regarding the special research, Slemon says in the interview:
We are trying to figure out what the right amount of it is. A part of the special research that we released has definitely overwhelmed some of our casual players a bit. In that we simply flooded them with research tasks.
Our intention is to make it so that the storylines are not just checklists. So you’re not just rushing through four or five of them at the same time and not even remembering which task belongs to which special research or why.
What does the statement mean? It sounds like Pokémon GO will conduct special research in the future where the tasks will actually fit the theme. And have more significance.
Perhaps there will be fewer individual tasks in the future, but a greater thematic relevance to the existing tasks. But that remains to be seen.
What do the players say about it? The interview is being actively discussed on Reddit.
A negative aspect of the previous special research is that for some tasks, players had to catch specific species that only appeared in the wild for a short time. User tehstone writes:
I think the big complaint was the requirement to catch or evolve species that are actually particularly rare, but only appeared more frequently at the time of the special research’s release. It definitely created a “hurry up or you’ll have problems” feeling.
As an example, Ditto is also mentioned on Reddit. It was easy to catch at the beginning of the special research when Niantic ensured more Ditto spawns. Who reached the research after the increased spawns probably had to search for Ditto for weeks or months.
In FIFA 19 the winter upgrades of the French Ligue 1 are known. These player cards are now available in packs in Ultimate Team.
Ratings Refresh of Ligue 1: The winter upgrades in FUT 19 are in their fourth round. Today, on 21.2., EA Sports released the next ratings refresh batch. This time it is Ligue 1’s turn.
The best Ligue 1 winter upgrades: Mbappé from PSG stands out among these winter upgrades. The right winger has received an overall rating of 88. Other strong players are Marquinhos (85) and Depay (84).
All player cards of the Ligue 1 Ratings Refresh
The new cards in FUT 19:

Further winter upgrades of Ligue 1:
For comparison – this was Mbappé’s previous standard card:
Mbappé’s old FUT card
Overall, his rating has been raised by one point. The shooting value increases by 2 points, passing, dribbling, and physique each increase by one point.
Information about the winter upgrades in Ultimate Team
These are winter upgrades: Since the standard cards in FUT 19 have not changed since the release, but many players have shown better performances in recent months than before, the winter upgrades will upgrade the standard cards of many players.
After this “ratings refresh”, only the new, updated cards of the respective players can be found in the sets.
New cards replace old ones in packs: As soon as the winter upgrade cards appear, they can be pulled in the sets. The only requirement is that the set can contain players. The “old” cards of the respective players will no longer be found in the sets from that moment on.
What happens to my old card? If you already own a card of a player that is being upgraded, it remains unchanged. It will not be automatically updated. If you want the player’s card with improved attributes, you have to pull it from a set.
It is also possible to acquire the winter upgrade cards from other players on the transfer market.
With the first content update of Apex Legends, a new weapon has made its way into the game: the Havoc. We will show you how the Havoc plays and provide some useful tips and tricks for the new assault rifle.
This is how the Havoc works:The Havoc is the first new weapon to come to Apex Legends. It is an assault rifle with energy ammunition and the ability to be equipped with different attachments. These attachments can change its behavior and even transform it into a sort of sniper rifle:
The fire mode receiver (Selectfire Receiver) allows you to switch between automatic and semi-automatic (charged beam).
The turbocharger (Turbocharger) removes the time it takes for the Havoc to reach its full fire rate in automatic mode.
The Havoc is a rifle with a relatively high fire rate, which, however, builds up slowly, similar to the Devotion. A magazine holds 25 shots and is consumed in about 4 seconds (without turbocharger).
In beam mode, it consumes 5 units of ammunition per shot but hits immediately. The projectiles have no travel time, but each shot also has a recharge time.
This is what the Havoc looks like in the game.
How much damage does the Havoc deal? The damage numbers of the Havoc vary between its different fire modes. There are also reports that at least in beam mode, distance plays a role.
In automatic mode:
Body damage: 18
Head damage: 36
In beam mode:
Body damage: about 50
Head damage: about 75
The numbers for the beam mode are inaccurate because there are reports from players that there is a “damage drop-off”. Damage decreases the further the target is away.

This is how the Havoc plays comparably: As an energy weapon, the Havoc can be best categorized between its counterparts, the Triple Take and the Devotion. It even takes a position fairly accurately between the sniper rifle and the light LMG.
Compared to the Devotion, the Havoc can deal high damage without quickly depleting ammunition reserves. With a turbocharger, it is even more accurate and effective but has one attachment less. (Barrel attachment)
The Havoc tested – This is what our author Benedict thinks
This is how the Havoc is most effective: After several rounds with the Havoc, I find the turbocharger as an attachment to be significantly more useful than the fire mode receiver, even though I hit quite well with sniper rifles. As an assault rifle with LMG characteristics, it simply feels stronger.
The best range for the Havoc to work seems to be mid-range, with slight variations to mid-close and mid-long distances. Here, there is enough time to shower opponents with bullets and kill them before enemies can change the distance to their advantage.
Generally, you can use the Havoc in any situation where a Devotion (or Spitfire) would also be good. The Havoc has the advantage of not pulling as much and is still useful at somewhat longer distances than the LMGs.
The Havoc in action
Tips and Tricks for using the Havoc: While playing, I noticed a few things that can make playing with the Havoc easier:
Energy ammunition is scarce, and few players carry it. So you might run out “empty” quickly during the game. Therefore, use the Havoc especially at the beginning as a strong weapon and switch it during the round.
When the Havoc is charging, it is very loud. You will alert opposing players.
The Havoc can only use one attachment. Save your inventory space and choose the attachment that suits you best. Don’t take both.
The ideal scope for all modes is, in my experience, a x2-x4 optic.
The “legendary” version of the rifle has a non-exchangeable attachment. You are better off equipping the Havoc yourself.
My opinion about the Havoc: The Havoc is a solid assault rifle and the first of its kind that I really like. I generally prefer playing with SMGs and burst rifles, depending on the situation, also with sniper rifles.
Nevertheless, the Havoc convinces me with precise handling and a strong damage output that can also take down multiple opponents in a row with well-aimed bursts.
In the earlier and mid-stages of the game, I will certainly use it more frequently until I find other weapons or run out of my energy ammunition.
What do you think of the Havoc?
The best player in the world, Dizzy, also has some suggestions for the best weapons:
The Division 2 shows in a new trailer what to expect in the endgame. In addition to a summary of the features, we also get a first hint at the location of the 1st Raid.
This is shown by the endgame trailer: The new trailer shows some new gameplay scenes from the game. The endgame activities are briefly touched upon and summarized.
As the scenes run, a voice speaks about securing Washington D.C. and summarizes the situation of the Division. The new faction Black Tusk is also shown.
Airport symbols and boarding signs
Particularly interesting, however, is a short clip about the raid, which will come after the release of The Division 2.
Is the location of the 1st Raid an airport?
This suggests: While the individual features are presented in the trailer, a brief mention of the raid is shown.
There, you see an 8-player squad in the outdoor area of Washington National Airport. Another image shows the squad crossing the boarding area.
The location seems to be confirmed and will likely be quite interesting. The airport will probably be huge and offer plenty of space for all possible gameplay elements.
When can we expect the raid? Unfortunately, there are no exact details about that. What is certain is that the first raid is supposed to start shortly after release. Furthermore, additional raids have been confirmed for the future.

In Anthem, your character will don combat suits called Javelins. At the beginning, four classes are available to you: Ranger, Colossus, Interceptor, and Storm. Learn what is known about these four suits here.
What are Javelins? Javelins are essentially the classes of Anthem, each having their individual talents. For example, the Colossus is like a tank while the Interceptor is an assassin. The combat suits can be swapped between missions, so you are not bound to a fixed class.
[toc]
There are four different Javelins: They all possess unique abilities, offering different gameplay experiences. Your character (the Freelancer) and the Javelin combat suits can be developed independently of each other in the game. The level of the Freelancer determines your strength.
When is which Javelin unlocked? New Javelins will be unlocked upon reaching levels 2, 8, 16, and 26. All players start with the Ranger, and then you choose the order yourself.
Which Javelin are you? Take the test: If you want to take a personality test beforehand, you can do it here:
Update February 21, 2019: This article was originally published in July 2018 and has been updated with new information. Guides for each Javelin are now included in the article.
Ranger – The All-Rounder and Starter in Anthem
What makes the Ranger special? This Javelin is a classic all-rounder, capable of much, making it versatile. It can use a wide range of weapons and abilities. All players start in Anthem with the Ranger. After that, players can freely decide the order in which they want to unlock the others.
The Ranger is, according to BioWare, the first Javelin for players because of its versatility. Beginners can use it to familiarize themselves with Anthem’s combat suits. Experienced players will be able to build various builds for the Ranger to be prepared for any situation.
How Ranger fights – His Skills: Ranger can be equipped with different grenades that often deal area damage with a large effective range. There are also modified grenades that trigger certain effects, such as frost.
On its wrist, the Ranger possesses a firing device that can be loaded with different modules. These include, among others, guided missiles, poison arrows, or spark rays.
Ranger is ideal for: Players who enjoy experimenting with their builds and do not want to be locked into a role. Because of its versatility, the Ranger is equally suitable for beginners and experts. The motto here is: “Easy to learn, but hard to master.”
If you are new to the game, you can test a variety of weapon and ability types with the Ranger. Once you better understand a Javelin’s build, you will enjoy crafting quite specific equipment.
If you come from a classic shooter background, the Ranger might also be the ideal choice for you. It works like a futuristic soldier. It can perform quick sprints, carries a wide range of weapons, and its abilities are heavily geared towards using grenades.
What makes the Colossus special? This is the bulky, aggressive tank in the group. As a result, it moves a bit more clumsily than the other classes. It is equipped with powerful artillery that unleashes a fireworks display of explosions. Flamethrowers, a jetpack, and a thick cannon are part of its arsenal.
The Colossus provides damage reduction and can protect its group. It may be better armored than the other Javelins, but the Colossus stands for raw violence and is a pure killing machine.
How Colossus fights – His Skills: The Colossus is a walking artillery piece and features a heavy launching device. It is the only Javelin that can be equipped with heavy weapons. The Colossus fires projectiles, explosions, and elemental shots all around.
As the group’s tank, the Colossus has higher defense than the other Javelins. Its support systems have abilities that draw enemy attention to it. This is practical for distracting annoying enemy groups!
Colossus is ideal for: Players who charge into battle with raw violence. Those who prefer massive explosions and a rough play style will enjoy this hefty war machine.
As the group’s tank, Colossus is also responsible for protecting his team. With stronger armor, Colossus comes with higher defense. You can use it to draw enemies towards you—whether for group protection or to create more victims for your brutal artillery.
If you’re worried about being a “tank” and just passively taking hits, let go of that fear. For the Colossus: Brutal attack is the best defense!
What makes Storm special? Storm is most comparable to a mage class that uses forces of nature such as fire, electrical storms, or wind. Storm boasts high attack power but has low defensive traits.
Experienced players know that they should engage from a distance and not position themselves directly on the front lines. Storm is also designed for vertical gameplay, preferring to attack from above.
This is how Storm fights – His Skills: Storm is equipped with various seals that unleash the power of the Anthem. With these seals, Storm primarily employs elemental attacks. Elements have strengths and weaknesses against each other, similar to Pokémon.
His skills are based on area damage, allowing him to take down entire groups of enemies. He is meant to control and eliminate enemy groups. Even Storm’s melee attack knocks enemies back, further emphasizing that Storm is geared towards ranged combat.
Storm is ideal for: Players who enjoy magical classes, with high firepower and a thoughtful play style. Storm is one of the trickier Javelins and requires a certain level of macro-management. Storm is most effective in the air, where it rains down its elemental attacks on enemies like a force of nature.
However, Javelins need constant cooling when in the air, otherwise, they will lose their flight power. You must carefully consider when it is safe for you to land. On the ground, Storm has low defense as its shield is weaker there.
If you enjoy playing as a support in games, Storm could also be the right choice for you. Its buff seals are designed to protect the group and provide buffs. With its elemental powers, it can also significantly restrict enemies by, for example, freezing them.
Storm Guide: If you want more information, we have an appropriate beginner’s guide for Storm, in which you can also find a suitable build.
Interceptor – The Fast and Agile Assassin
What makes the Interceptor special? This Javelin is the most elegant and lightweight of the combat suits, allowing it to move quickly. The Interceptor plays like an assassin, swooping in and out of combat swiftly. It is not as powerful as the other Javelins but makes up for it with its agility.
How Interceptor fights – His Skills: Think of the Interceptor as a futuristic ninja equipped with daggers and throwing stars. Its razor-sharp attacks are extremely precise. It also has some abilities that poison enemies.
Interceptor is designed for mobility. It should zip quickly through enemy masses and be able to retreat quickly when necessary.
Interceptor is ideal for: Players who value high mobility and precision. The Interceptor is for the rogues and assassins among you. It is designed to cut through the battlefield with its sharp blades.
If you also enjoy observing the combat situation and looking for individual victims, then the Interceptor is ideal for you. It doesn’t deal much area damage. With Interceptor, you seek threats and can quietly decide the battle for your team.
If you also enjoy being close to the action, you should also consider the Interceptor. With it, you will only fight from a distance if you first want to weaken your opponent with a poison bomb before delivering the killing blow.
Javelins have unique equipment components: These can be modified and equipped with different skills. There are two attack gear types for damage and one support gear type for defense. Within these three categories, you can customize your modifications:
Storm: Detonation Seals, Focus Seals, Buff Seals
Colossus: Artillery, Heavy Launching Device, Support Systems
Ranger: Grenades, Launching Device, Support Systems
Interceptor: Attack Systems, Hit Systems, Support Systems
Set Skills: Javelins also have skills that cannot be exchanged. These include their ultimate abilities, melee attacks, and combo effects.
This could be one of the strangest crossovers in gaming history. Content from PUBG will soon be seen in TERA…
When thinking of TERA , frying pans or machine guns probably don’t come to mind immediately. At least not yet. Soon that will change, as the developer Bluehole has announced that TERA and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds will soon have a cross-promotion.
Where will the event take place? According to current reports, the event will take place in TERA. There will be a series of in-game events where players will have to complete various tasks that will likely be themed around PUBG.

What can be earned? The rewards seem to primarily be cosmetic items. These include the typical helmet from PUBG, as well as an assault rifle that is carried on the back. Additionally, there will supposedly be various consumable goods, daily login rewards, and some themed bundles in the in-game store.
When does the event start? The event is supposed to start next month, specifically on March 5, 2019. It is set to last a whole month. Among other things, there will also be “BAMs” (Big-ass monsters) in the style of PUBG. However, how exactly they will look has not yet been shown.
Is there anything for PUBG players? This is also not yet known. The images released so far only show content from TERA. Whether PUBG will also get special content in TERA style is still unclear.
Are you looking forward to such a crazy event in TERA? Or do you find such crossovers terrible when the game worlds don’t fit together? Let us know in the comments!
Have you seen that TERA wants to rely on classic servers?
In Anthem, your Javelin can equip two weapons and switch between them in battle. However, for some players, especially on consoles, the switch seems to be difficult.
What is it about? In Anthem, your Javelins not only throw their abilities around but can also carry up to two weapons in combat. Depending on the need, you can switch between the two weapons.
This article was published on February 2, 2019, and updated with the latest information on February 22, 2019.
How to switch and equip weapons
You can switch weapons in Anthem during an activity such as a mission, Freeplay, or Stronghold. You can currently equip other weapons only at the forge in Fort Tarsis or in the Launch Bay.
Here’s how to switch weapons: Your Javelins can switch between their two pre-equipped weapons during combat. While the switch between weapons on PC is performed using the mouse wheel or keyboard keys 1 and 2, it is a bit more complicated for consoles.
If you are playing on Xbox One, you need to hold the “X” button longer. Players on PlayStation 4 hold “Square”.
Why should it be complicated? In the Anthem subreddit, some players report that the console input does not work consistently. Sometimes you only have to tap the button briefly to switch weapons, while at other times you have to hold it down much longer.
It could also happen that if you hold the button down too long, it switches weapons but then immediately changes back to the first firearm.
How to equip weapons: You can only change your weapons, just like your other gear, before your actual adventure. It is no longer possible during an activity.
To do this, go to the forge, which is located in Fort Tarsis to the right of the platform where your Javelin stands. Alternatively, you can also select the forge on your mission screen where you choose the activity.
In the Anthem subreddit, some players find the current button layout cumbersome and offer their suggestions on how to make weapon switching more pleasant.
It is particularly confusing for some Freelancers that BioWare opted for a different button layout than in other shooters. In many games, you switch weapons with the Y/Triangle button or with the D-Pad.
Just like that, some players would like the layout to be adjusted. For example, it has been suggested to put the melee attack on one of the analog sticks so that the Y/Triangle button would be free for weapon switching.
Another suggestion would be to create a radial menu for the emotes, freeing up two buttons on the D-Pad.
Loot boxes are one of the ways in Apex Legends to supply you with skins and other cosmetics. They are even the only way to obtain a special set. A player really wanted this special set and dug deep into his pockets.
A player spent $500 on loot boxes in Apex Legends to get an heirloom set. Although he knew that loot boxes normally weren’t worth it for him, he couldn’t stop buying new boxes.
How did that happen to him? The user BAE339 shared his story on reddit. He talked about how he usually doesn’t fall for random loot boxes. But that was different with Apex Legends.
Because here, the heirloom set is guaranteed. If it wasn’t included in 500 boxes, the next box is guaranteed to contain the heirloom set. Right now, there is only one heirloom set, and that is for Wraith, one of the legends of Apex Legends. Her set is currently the guaranteed loot.
Since many of his friends and many streamers already have the set, and Wraith is his “main,” he didn’t expect to need the full 500 boxes. However, he really had the worst luck and only got his set in his guaranteed box. One loot box costs through microtransactions 100 Apex Coins, which is about $1 or €1, not counting discounts.
That’s why he shares his story: BAE339 calls for people to “roast” him for his stupidity. However, his post was meant to show something.
He wanted to make it clear to people that not only the “uneducated and children” fall for loot boxes. He himself studied, has a full-time job, and a girlfriend, so he leads a regulated life. The greed for loot can catch anyone.
How the community reacts: BAE339 receives no sympathy for his story, which he didn’t ask for anyway. Many discuss that loot boxes aren’t worth it at all and that they would never spend so much money or buy a skin at all.
Most users are amused by his “stupidity,” mock him, or wonder how something like this can happen. The top-rated comment is:
You got bamboozled.
The phrase refers to the extroverted legend Mirage. He likes to bamboozle his opponents with reflections of himself.
This is the heirloom set of Wraith
Which set is it? The special items are an “heirloom” set for Wraith. The heirloom set consists of three parts:
a banner pose
a melee weapon skin
an intro quip
In the banner pose, Wraith throws some kunai, which she also gets as a skin for her melee attack. The weapon does not deal more damage, it just looks different.
What is special about the set? When you receive the heirloom set, you receive it in the loot box immediately in full. There are no separate parts of it. Furthermore, it does not appear in your collection until you have received it.
Since this is the only heirloom set so far, it is particularly popular among Wraith players.
Would you spend that much money or have you already got the set?
At the moment there is only one set for Wraith. But maybe more will come with the upcoming seasons:
The bulky Colossus is the most heavily armored and armed in Anthem. With this build variant, you can hold off many enemies at once and clear the way for your team.
That’s why we recommend this build: With the destructive power of the Colossus’ abilities, you can control the entire battlefield. With this configuration, you are prepared for many situations and can dominate your enemies alone or as a team.
If you are already fit enough for the endgame in Anthem, we also have an alternative endgame build for you. There, we deal with masterful equipment and explain how you can use it correctly. This way, the Colossus can handle the Grandmaster difficulty levels without any issues.
Why is this build so good? With this build, you can control and eliminate many enemy masses. The high range of your explosive abilities allows you to effortlessly hold back large groups of enemies.
This is the approach: Your focus is on the Fire Wall Mortar. This ability erects a wall of flames that lasts for a short time and continuously deals damage. Furthermore, every enemy hit is made available for a combo attack. Depending on distance, you can jump into the burning mass with your melee ability or fire your Siege Cannon into it.
Note: The two subsequent screenshots were taken from a Youtube video by “Blessious”. You can find the link in the source reference.
In both approaches, you trigger a large-scale detonation and initiate a strong combo attack.
Make sure to use your Battle Cry as often as possible. This way, you draw the attention of enemies in your vicinity onto yourself and can hit and ignite the maximum number of enemies with your Fire Wall Mortar.
If your Siege Cannon is currently reloading, you can use the wide radius of your melee attack to detonate all the burning enemies. Alternatively, you can also use your shield to sprint through the fire wall and knock down the burning enemies.
Before you activate your ultimate ability, you should always fire a Fire Wall Mortar first to trigger combos and maximize your damage.
This is what the components do:
Demolition Expert (1): Increases all explosive damage.
Artillery Upgrade (2): Increases the damage of the artillery ability.
Guardian Insignia (5): Extends the duration of the fortification system.
Structural Reinforcement (6): Significantly strengthens the Colossus armor and shield.
This is what the components bring in the build
The component Demolition Expert (1) increases all explosive damage and thus enhances your Fire Wall Mortar and your Siege Cannon. Both abilities become even more effective.
The Artillery Upgrade (2) further increases the damage of the Fire Wall Mortar. Since you should always start the fight with the artillery ability, this component is a core part of this setup.
The Colossus Combo Upgrade (3) boosts the effectiveness of your combos. This way, you deal additional damage, whether you detonate the enemies with your melee attack or your Siege Cannon.
The Melee Inscription (4) increases the damage of your slam attack. Since you will use it frequently, this component helps you to detonate multiple enemies with a devastating blow and eliminate them with greater certainty.
The Guardian Insignia (5) extends the duration of the Battle Cry and ensures that the burning enemies are focused on you while you sweep them away. With this component, you can better control the battlefield and hit as many enemies as possible with your abilities while protecting your remaining team.
The Structural Reinforcement (6) strengthens your armor and shield. This allows you to stay longer in the chaos and maintain better control over the battlefield.
These weapons are suitable
Which weapons should you use? For this build, you should consider weapons that perform well against many enemies or are strong against single targets. Weapons like the automatic cannon “Sky Ripper” or the grenade launcher “Aftershock” are excellent for this build.
This is why the Sky Ripper is recommended: With this heavy automatic cannon, you can easily shoot through hordes of enemies thanks to its high fire rate. With the large magazine (150 shots), you can keep many enemies at bay simultaneously without constantly needing to reload. Especially due to the Battle Cry, this weapon is a very good choice.
This weapon works best in combination with the Fire Wall Mortar. With the continuous damage effect of the fire wall and the sustained fire of the Sky Ripper, you deal tons of damage over time.
This is why the Aftershock is recommended: If you have drawn the attention of a heavy single target, you should be able to finish it off as quickly as possible. Since the automatic cannon is more effective against multiple enemies, you also need a quick response for single targets. That’s where the grenade launcher comes into play.
The Aftershock fires grenades that stick to your target. Once a grenade sticks to your target, it explodes and deals significant damage to the target. So if an armored or shielded enemy gets too close, you can pin them in the fire wall and stick grenade after grenade on them.
With this, you should be relatively good against shields and can deal a lot of damage against single targets without having to waste an entire magazine.

What happened recently with Apex Legends? A few days ago, the new February update for Apex Legends was released. It mostly fixed some annoying crashes and bugs.
Then, a few hours ago, the first new weapon for Apex Legends was released. This is the Havoc. It is an energy assault rifle with various firing modes. Players are really enjoying this weapon.
The world of Destiny 2 is full of details. Some of them are easy to see, others are well hidden. And there are also some that have hardly been noticed by anyone so far. We show you 10 things you surely overlooked.
What happened? When the content runs short, many Guardians pass the time in other ways. Some compete in speedruns through the raid, others play PvP, and some go on an exploration tour through the world.
The Reddit user Relatively_Pointless has now compiled 10 things that have likely gone unnoticed by most fans – if at all.
And these are well received by the fans. Numerous Guardians set out to see these details for themselves in the game or are now looking for other cool little things that might have been overlooked.
Have you noticed these 10 things in Destiny 2?
The Iron Temple Reflection: If you enter the Lost Sector “Star Light Chamber” in the Dreaming City, you will encounter an interesting reflection at the end of the sector.
The floor on the platform by the final boss’s chest is wet and reflects. But when you look at the reflection, you curiously do not see the ceiling of the cave, but the interior of the Iron Temple on the Felwinter Peak.
Here you will find the reflection of the Iron Temple
What this reflection is about is still unknown.
Lord Shaxx’s weapon: Many fans have wondered what hand cannon the voice of the Crucible uses. Clever fans have conducted extensive research and concluded that it is the Lord High Fixer from Destiny 1.
This hand cannon was once one of the best hand cannons in the Crucible in the predecessor.
The vault in the Tower is animated: In Destiny 2, you can immediately tell when someone is using a vault. When a player is interacting with the vault, a login screen is visible at the vault itself.
Also, in the room below the vaults, orange lights light up when they are being used.
There you will find all sorts of legendary weapons from Destiny 1 at the end of the Lost Sector, as well as two shields from Sentinel Titans.
These Fallen not only have an extravagant taste in music, but also likely have quite a few Guardians on their conscience.
The original form of the SUROS Regime: The popular exotic auto rifle SUROS Regime is known to many not only from Destiny 1, but also has been part of the Guardians’ arsenal in Destiny 2 for quite a while now.
The blue-white-red ornament Handstreich reminds many veterans of the Destiny 1 version of the weapon.
But that’s not entirely correct. It is actually the version of the SUROS Regime first shown in 2013, which was presented to the public during a ViDoc.
The first weapon of your Guardian: The Khvostov auto rifle should be well remembered by many veterans. It is the very first weapon that your Guardian gets in Destiny 1. Later, this iconic gun was even brought back as an Exotic.
This weapon has also been immortalized in Destiny 2. During the first mission, there is a whole box full of Khvostovs. Also, in the EDZ on Earth at the Fallen camp near the Niobe Labs, a Khvostov is prominently leaned against a rock. However, you cannot take this good piece with you.
The legendary tree from the Destiny 1 Tower: Many Guardians should still remember this tree. It stood on the vault side of the tower and served many players as a popular jump spot.
Anyone missing the tree doesn’t necessarily have to log back into Destiny 1. In the strike “Savathûn’s Song” just before the first relic, there is exactly the same tree also in Destiny 2. After all, Bungie is known for resource reuse.
Difference between legendary and powerful engrams: What many Guardians do not know – you can clearly tell the difference between a regular and a Powerful engram at first glance.
Powerful engrams have an ascending aura, similar to exotic engrams. This is not the case with the regular legendary engram.
Ammunition spawns belong to the Vanguard:Gambit and the Crucible are standalone modes with their own rewards and symbols. But when it comes to heavy ammunition, there seems to be no way around the Vanguard. Because the ammo crates from which you get the coveted supply all bear fine Vanguard seals adorning their sides.
Weapon models of the Golden Gun: Hunters using the Golden Gun super have different weapon models when activating their ultimate attack.
The top sub-focus uses The Last Word as a template, while the bottom skill tree is the model of the Eyasluna, one of the best hand cannons in Destiny.
If the Hunter uses the helmet Heavenly Night Hawk, the corresponding weapon model of the exotic hand cannon The First Curse from Destiny 1 looks suspiciously similar.
In the action RPG Anthem, there is a larger selection of Masterwork and Legendary weapons. In our special, we present to you ten of the best specimens.
What are Masterwork and Legendary Items? These are the two highest of the total 6 rarity levels in Anthem.
Many Masterwork and all Legendary weapons have a unique perk that grants them particularly strong effects. Some are simply stronger versions of regular weapons.
What can the weapon? The Divine Vengeance is currently one of the strongest weapons in the game. It is an upgrade of the Guardian Assault Rifle, which fires bursts.
The special effect of this weapon allows you to cause fire explosions with every third weak point hit. These explosions are quite powerful and massively increase your damage.
Especially effective against the Scar, the weapon is well-suited. It is so strong that most enemies without shields go down after three weak point hits.
Even shields can be destroyed quickly with it. Arekkz describes the weapon as the strongest he has used so far.
What can the weapon? Artinia’s Gambit allows you to activate a combo explosion in your vicinity while reloading. This compensates for the otherwise long reload time of LMGs, and you can deal damage even during reload pauses.
The LMG exists in both variants, as Masterwork and Legendary.
What can the weapon: Rolling Carnage is a shotgun available as a Masterwork and as a Legendary weapon.
Its inscription is called Spoils of the Scout and grants you a 50% damage bonus after dodging. The effect lasts for 20 seconds and can apparently stack up to three times.
What can the weapon: This repeater pistol is available as Masterwork and as a Legendary item. The special ability of this weapon is called “Player’s Wrath” and increases your damage by 125% when your Javelin’s health decreases.
The buff lasts for 10 seconds. It is not known how many hit points you need to lose for activation.
Avenging Herald (Heavy Pistol)
Arekkz has also presented this pistol in his video:

What can the weapon: The Avenging Herald is a heavy pistol available as both Masterwork and Legendary. It has a unique talent called “Hawkeye of the Raptor”.
This talent gives your weapon a significant damage bonus of 200% when you glide with your Javelin.
Thus, it should be the perfect weapon for your Storm Javelin, as this frequently hovers above the action and can hover longer than the other Javelins.
What can the weapon? The precision rifle exists as a Masterwork and a Legendary weapon. The Thunderstrike of Yvenia is one of the best weapons when it comes to destroying shields.
With its ability, it has a 33% chance to cause high electrical damage. Additionally, it works as a detonator for combos.
What can the weapon? The Truth of Tarsis is an upgraded version of the Devastator. Its projectiles explode upon hitting the target.
Moreover, its special ability triggers a chain combo as soon as you hit a target at a weak point that is under any status effect.
If you hit a frozen enemy in the head, there will be a chain combo and extra damage. The Truth of Tarsis exists in both variants as Masterwork and Legendary weapon.

Why March is particularly important for Anthem, explained to you by Mein-MMO author Leya:
This Pathfinder skin should actually only be available to Twitch Prime users in Apex Legends. Right now, there’s a trick to get it without Twitch.
What kind of skin is this? Recently, Respawn/EA made a deal regarding the streaming website TwitchTV clear. Those who have a Twitch Prime subscription there receive a cool “Omega Point” skin for Pathfinder for free. Additionally, there are 5 Apex Packs.
You get this skin for free!
Players are now exploiting this trick: Some players confirm that you currently don’t need a Twitch account at all to secure the free loot. You just have to change one setting.
The players select “Apex Legends” in the Origin library and click on the gear icon. There, they choose “Game Properties” and then “Advanced Launch Options”. If they now enter the code “+twitch_prime_linked 1” in the Command line arguments section, the game would think you linked your Twitch Prime account with Apex Legends. Even if that’s actually not the case.
Upon the next login, the loot would then be available in the game.
This trick was shared by CS:GO community creator Adam_THR on Twitter with his followers.

Does it really work? Players confirm on Twitter that the trick actually works and they received the promised loot from the Twitch Prime gift.
Can you get banned for this? At this time, that’s unclear. One thing is certain: the “normal” method, where you connect your Twitch Prime account with Origin, is safe.
How long will the trick last? This workaround will probably be fixed quickly as soon as the developers have a solution for it. It is not expected that the trick will work for long.
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, new information about the K-Pop skin IKONIK is finally available. However, the outfit is only available if you pre-order an incredibly expensive new Samsung smartphone.
What is the new skin IKONIK? The concept of the “K-Pop” skin has been circulating through Fortnite’s data leaks for a long time. Now there is new information. The skin is supposed to represent K-Pop star Jung Changwoo, who is part of the K-Pop band iKON. That’s why the skin is also called IKONIK.
New K-Pop skin only available with Samsung phone
How to get the skin? Like the controversial Galaxy skin, IKONIK is only available if you purchase an expensive high-end smartphone from the Korean provider Samsung. With the Galaxy, it was the S9 Note, but if you want IKONIK, you have to pre-order the new flagship device S10+.
This was the Galaxy skin
What does the skin cost? The upcoming elite smartphone from South Korea is set to be released here on March 8, 2019. However, the price is very high at 1,250 euros. So if you are considering buying the phone just for the skin, you should think it over again.
Since not every Fortnite player will want to buy an Android smartphone in this price range, players who wield IKONIK should be relatively rare.
The skin has the potential to become a real rarity. At least until the S10 Plus is on the market for a few years and drops into lower price categories.
What fans say about it: The news caused mixed feelings among Fortnite fans on Reddit. Many believe that the skin looks worse than the Galaxy skin, which is generally very well received.
The IKONIK skin
Others criticized the lack of originality of the outfit. The Galaxy skin would have been completely different. IKONIK, on the other hand, looks like the little brother of Drift, the flagship skin from Season 5.
Others criticized the high costs associated with acquiring the S10 Plus. “Another skin behind a $1,000 paywall,” lamented one user about it.
K-Pop fans, on the other hand, seem to be into the skin and praise the color composition.
In March, this big event is supposed to happen in Anthem, which according to BioWare can change the entire world: a Cataclysm. Here, the future of Anthem is defined, thinks our author Leya.
In the current livestream BioWare talked about the future of Anthem. My ears particularly perked up when the developers emphasized how Anthem is technically built. Their game is designed so that it is easy for developers to change components in the world.
For months now, BioWare has hinted that Anthem will truly begin after the release regarding the development of the world and its story.
The characters from Anthem are supposed to be able to die through events, or new ones may appear.
Roadmap for March shows Cataclysm
What is a Cataclysm? These are massive natural forces that arise from the Anthem of Creation. Often a gigantic storm precedes them, indicated in the sky. Cataclysms create new life forms, can shatter the ground, or even reverse the flow of rivers.
When will the Cataclysm come? The exact timing is not revealed in the roadmap. The big highlight may also come after March. However, from March we can expect events that will prepare for the Cataclysm.
The first update of Anthem in March is divided into different acts.
What a Cataclysm looks like in detail we do not know yet. BioWare is still silent about what a Cataclysm and the story events will mean for the game. It is always said that it will be something massive.
We only know that the various acts are meant to prepare for the Cataclysm. Players are supposed to discover clues and solve puzzles about the changes in the world. The Cataclysm is somewhat like the big bang that dissolves everything.
It is too early for a judgment on Anthem
Until I have not seen the events in March, I hesitate to assess Anthem’s longevity.
The story is supposed to begin now: BioWare has repeatedly emphasized that Anthem is designed to provide bite-sized gameplay,to prevent content drought .
The story of Anthem is already being harshly criticized, even though according to the developers, it is actually just beginning now. They have prepared the story for years. New missions, world events, or storylines can be added to Anthem at any time.
The world of Anthem is supposed to change over time.
The first Cataclysm will be groundbreaking: Since BioWare keeps talking about how something “big” is coming our way, I will now patiently wait and observe March.
I wonder if the developers are overstating things here, or if they manage to actually bring story events into the game that generate curiosity and excitement.
This is supposed to be a central core of Anthem: A world that continuously expands, changes, and brings new experiences.
Both games feature strong elements of a loot shooter and are therefore being compared. Some players are wondering which of the two games they want to play longer.
Therefore, it is even more important for Anthem to score with its event approach in March. Here, BioWare has a chance to make Anthem relevant in the media, even with the release of The Division 2, and attract some attention.
The Division 2 is on Anthem’s heels, and the games compete for attention.
What ideally happens for Anthem?
This is the ideal scenario: BioWare will deliver what they have been promising for months. Anthem has a long and exciting story, with great events. The media reports on the latest happenings, such as about the little clown detective Hoppel or the new activities of the Dominion.
The players have fun with the content bites and look forward to new strongholds, missions, and stories. Players temporarily overlook technical issues.
This is the worst case: BioWare cannot meet expectations. The events bring little new to the game and are boring for players. The Titan shown in the demo did not go over so well.
Although BioWare noted here that this was just a teaser. The added content leads to nasty bugs that need to be fixed repeatedly, causing frustration. Anthem goes under and only provided temporary entertainment.
This is the middle ground: The events are not of outstanding nature but keep players engaged. A core group of players forms, who support and accompany Anthem for years.
From here, BioWare can build and improve Anthem in the nature of a live-service game and gradually win over players.
Ideally, Anthem will provide cool event content for many years that keeps players happy.
What do you say? Is March as significant for Anthem as I perceive it?
Our author Schuhmann describes here why he is currently enjoying Anthem. He is also curious whether Anthem will continue to provide enjoyment for him in the long term:
Ubisoft has announced a TV series based on the pirate online game Skull & Bones. This is reminiscent of the series for the online shooter Defiance by Trion Worlds and the Syfy channel. Can we expect something similar?
A pirate series about the game: Ubisoft is partnering with Atlas Entertainment to develop a TV series for Skull & Bones, the pirate online game that was announced at E3 in 2017. Skull & Bones was delayed last year and currently has no specific release date.
The pirate online game Skull & Bones is becoming a TV series.
What do we know about the project? Not much is known yet. The main role is said to be played by a woman. The pirate experiences some adventures in the 18th century, towards the end of the golden age of piracy in the Indian Ocean. The producer is Amanda Segel, who was responsible for the horror series The Mist.
Will it be like Defiance?
What could await us: How the TV project is related to the MMO is still unclear. However, it is quite conceivable that both build on each other. Events could be referenced in the MMO. And if there is a large event in the game, it might be possible that it is discussed in the series.
Why does this remind us of Defiance? Trion Worlds and the TV channel Syfy produced a TV show about the online shooter Defiance between 2013 and 2015. Both products took place in the same universe and dealt with similar stories. Characters from the series even appeared in the shooter. If the series and the game of Skull & Bones are connected, it could happen as it did in Defiance.
https://youtu.be/hjC8_av7hhU
This is not unusual: Ubisoft has long relied on using its own brands not just for games. There have already been movies for:
Since series are doing very well, as shown by Game of Thrones, it makes sense for Ubisoft to enter this area as well. At the moment, it is still unclear when we will see Skull & Bones on TV or via a streaming service.
In World of Warcraft, there is much to do, but one thing is missing for Cortyn: A long grind for a personal goal.
Although the Patch 8.1 of World of Warcraft is not very old, it already feels a bit “overused” to me. Currently, there are only a few reasons for me to log in daily, and this will probably only change with the upcoming Patch 8.1.5.
Of course, World of Warcraft, considering the overall scope, has more content than ever before. After all, you can also have fun in old areas of the game and collect some transmog gear or pets.
However, I miss current content in World of Warcraft, for which I can grind something. Goals that I can work towards alone, without time limitations or an artificial barrier that slows me down every few hours. And that is exactly what is missing.
Reputation factions were more interesting: The absence is most noticeable with the reputation factions. These used to be something special individually.
For the Furbolgs of the Devil’s Forest, I could kill mobs all day if I wanted to. I could do the same in Skettis (Shattered World) or even in Pandaria on the Timeless Isle (the reputation with the Emperor).
For other factions, you even had to make decisions: For example, those who wanted to become Revered with the Bloodsail Buccaneers had to kill guards in Booty Bay and fall out of favor with the goblins.
Reputation with the Shen’dralar only came from special book quests, which were expensive and time-consuming.
Even in Warlords of Draenor, you could simply “grind” some factions.
WoW had many such reputation factions throughout the expansions. They were all unique, each had its special twist and were often only of interest to a small part of the players, unless you were a “completionist” who wanted everything.
In Battle for Azeroth, all reputation factions are the same. They all function through identically structured world quests, have similar rewards and predefined paths. I cannot pick a faction and repeatedly kill mobs for them or complete repeatable quests to get closer to my goal. I am limited by random missions that pop up every few hours.
I get a daily dose of maximum content presented to me, with no possibility to exceed this limit if I feel like it.
Farming reputation with a faction actively is not possible – only daily goals are exhausting.
Artificial limits prevent personal goals: I would love to farm the “Envoys” chests and spend many hours on it to get some toys. I would like to have a way to pursue my personal goals at my own pace and not depend on daily rotations. But no matter how much I want that – it is not possible.
I miss the grind. I miss doing something “relaxing” in WoW, where I can slowly work towards a goal. I would like to kill hundreds of mobs again and see how the reputation bar fills up very slowly. I miss that.
That is why I am also immensely glad that there are currently a few other games on the market that help me get through the drought period of WoW. Because I am sure, the next patch will be better again.
What are you currently missing in World of Warcraft? Do you feel similarly to me?
