Apex Legends: Important change in the fight against cheaters comes

Hackers have been wreaking havoc in the new battle royale hit Apex Legends for a while now. Apparently, the problem is getting worse. But according to a report, developer Respawn now wants to take action against the cheaters.

This is Respawn’s plan: The developers plan to introduce a reporting system for Apex Legends. Players will likely be able to report suspicious behavior of other players directly in the game.

This was confirmed by the Product Manager of Apex Legends, Lee Horn, on reddit. In the thread, it was about the changes in the new patch of Apex Legends.

When asked what is being done against the hackers, Horn wrote:

A more detailed post about cheating is coming, I don’t want to steal the spotlight from Jay [, the Community Manager,] but a reporting feature is definitely on the way.

Leeeeeee-RSPN on reddit

What the feature will look like is still not known. Currently, cheaters and hackers can only be reported cumbersome through the Origin website. Players are now speculating about a button in the game when the supposed hacker is being watched.

Apex Legends banner of a hacker with too many kills
This hacker was met by Apex star Dizzy.

Where does the decision come from? The report is likely also a reaction to the outcry from several streamers and players of Apex Legends. The well-known streamer Dr DisRespect had triggered a “hacker alert” shortly before.

Doc was not alone in this. Also, the probably best player of Apex Legends, Dizzy, has noticed an increasing number of hackers. They have increasingly disturbed and angered the community. The lack of a reporting system has caused frustration and annoyance among many players of Apex Legends.

How does Apex Legends stand? Since its launch on February 4, Apex Legends has been continuously growing and has quickly displaced competitors on Twitch. With now over 50 million players, it has grown faster than rival Fortnite.

Despite some errors, Apex Legends is well received, even or especially among players who usually do not like battle royale at all. According to our survey after a month of Apex Legends, the MeinMMO community is totally into the new BR hit.

The success and the genre itself also attract players who play unfairly: hackers, cheaters, and botters, who sometimes cheat even in the professional environment. This is almost unavoidable and is always a reason for frustration. It remains to be seen how effective the upcoming measures, such as the reporting feature, will be.

What do you think of the upcoming change?

Many players are hoping for quick changes. Perhaps with Season 1, which still has no concrete start date:

Anthem: The player numbers of a fan page look better, but not great

Many are asking: How many people play Anthem? A fan site for Xbox One has some interesting player numbers. They still do not portray Anthem as a hit, but the title performs significantly better compared to Mass Effect Andromeda and Destiny 2 than previously thought.

These are the numbers we had so far: Regarding Anthem, we mainly had figures from the retail sales in the UK.

It turned out that the sales figures in UK stores were significantly lower than those of Destiny 2 (September 2017) and Mass Effect Andromeda (March 2017).

Although Anthem took the number 1 spot on the charts in its launch week, it sold far fewer units than the two comparison games that launched two years prior.

Anthem poor sales title
Retail sales numbers from the UK painted a grim picture – Are they still relevant?

According to these figures, Anthem only had:

  • 25% of the units sold compared to Destiny 2
  • And only 50% of the units sold that Mass Effect Andromeda was able to sell

However, these numbers have some flaws:

  • The market share of retail sales to digital sales has shifted significantly in recent years.
  • Mass Effect and Destiny 2 had a longer launch week

Player numbers for Anthem come from Xbox One fan site

What are these new numbers? The new numbers come from the Xbox One fan site “Trueachievements” – from their Xbox chart.

They state that their numbers are based on a “sample of Xbox players,” evaluating over half a million Xbox players for the chart. The players come from all over the world. These are not just people who registered with them.

So these are still not “official numbers,” but they provide insight into a part of the player base.

anthem weapons titan

What do the new numbers look like?

For these player numbers on Xbox One, it is seen that Anthem as a new brand was able to reach about 65% of the player base that Mass Effect Andromeda reached at its launch.

True-Achievements-Anthem-Bioware
Anthem (orange) compared to other BioWare games. Source: Trueachievements

In comparison to Destiny 2, Anthem had 81% of the player base on launch day, but was only able to build on that base relatively slowly in the first 10 days.

After 10 days, Anthem only had 54% of the player base of Destiny 2 – this could be due to the mediocre initial reviews.

Destiny-2-anthem-Trueachievements

According to the current chart from the site, Anthem is in 3rd place behind Apex Legends and Fortnite – this refers to the last week.

We will keep an eye on the numbers and report as soon as further information is available.

Most companies are very cautious with their player numbers.

Fortnite: Campfire Map – Map shows all current locations

In Season 8 of Fortnite: Battle Royale, you should regenerate health by campfires. Where to find them is shown on our campfire map.

This is the challenge regarding campfires: A task from Week 2 of Season 8 in Fortnite requires you to regenerate 25 health through apples and then 50 health points through a campfire.

The locations of the campfires are fixed on the map, but in Season 8, things have changed again. The following map shows where you can find the fires.

The locations of the campfires

Here are particularly many fires: The campfires are not evenly distributed on the map. The following locations are particularly rich in campfires:

  • You can find the most campfires at the Viking village at coordinates A6 and B6. There are 5 of them!
  • Lonely Lodge in the east is also rich in campfires. At coordinates I5, you can find a total of 4 campfires.
  • At Shifty Shafts at D7, two fires can be found.
  • Loot Lake at E4 also has two spots for campfires.
fortnite map campfires season 8
Source: Fortnite fans

How to use the campfires: When you use the campfires, they burn for 25 seconds and regenerate 2 health per second. You need a complete campfire for the required 50 health points.

If you haven’t taken enough damage, just build a ramp and jump from a greater height. Then you’ll have damage that you can heal to complete the task.

FN-Lagerfeuer2

But be careful, as the fires can only be used once per round. It’s also possible that opponents have settled there and are waiting for you.

Therefore, it might be a good idea to use the campfires in a remote or less popular location. There should be fewer campers to find there.

A list of all tasks from Week 2 of Season 8 can be found here:

Chaosbane: The Warhammer-Diablo showcases gameplay for the beta launch – Here’s how you can participate

Warhammer: Chaosbane is set to release between Spring and Summer 2019. The Warhammer hack&slash is now starting its beta with a new gameplay trailer.

This is shown in the trailer: The new trailer directly from developer BigBen Games is quite short. There are only about 30 seconds of gameplay to see. Two of the four available classes are shown, the High Elf Mage and the Imperial Soldier.

The two characters fight against the servants of the Chaos God Nurgle, who is known for diseases and plagues. True to Warhammer, it is brutal and bloody. According to the genre, there seems to be a multitude of enemies that players can hack their way through.

What is included in the beta? Primarily, gameplay is to be tested in the beta. However, you will only have access to two of the four classes. The Soldier and Mage will be playable, while the Slayer and Waywarden will come at a later date.

Co-op gameplay is already supposed to be supported, whether you want to play online with friends or via local co-op mode. However, online it may happen that classes are duplicated, as four players can form a group here.

How can I participate in the beta? The trailer is meant to promote the first beta of Warhammer: Chaosbane. This starts today, on March 7th and runs until March 13th. It can be played on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

To participate, the game must be pre-ordered through the official Chaosbane website. The Standard Edition is sufficient. The PC version costs 49.99€, and the versions for Xbox One and PS4 cost 59.99€ each.

The finished game is scheduled to be released on June 4th. Those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe or Magnus Edition can start playing as early as March 31st.

Fans are excited but critical

Players are skeptical: The video has already been well received on Reddit. Many fans are looking forward to a new hack&slay in a fantasy world, and Warhammer fans are also anticipating Chaosbane. Players who liked Vermintide 2, which is getting its first expansion in the summer are particularly excited.

However, the price is viewed critically. Nearly 50€ is too much for most gamers for what they have seen, especially in the new trailer. Some want to wait for the first reviews or to grab it on sale for 20€ or 30€.

What do you think of the images for Chaosbane?

Now PUBG wants to change its original map, players are concerned

In the popular Battle Royale PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), it is time for changes. These will affect the maps and their loot distribution as well as appearance. A rework is on the way.

Why are the maps being revised? The developers of PUBG are working to make the maps and their loot more appealing to players. The first map to be tackled is Erangel. This is the map with which PUBG originally started.

Players had already suspected this overhaul before the official announcement. A leak of an alternative version of the PUBG map Erangel surfaced a few days ago and was actively discussed in the community. However, the developers say that this leak does not represent what Erangel is yet to become.

PUBG Map Erangel Leak Revised
This image of a changed Erangel map was leaked

What is changing? As the work is still ongoing, there are no changes set in stone. Part of the overhaul includes adding new buildings and groups of buildings.

The PUBG team adds:

We are aware that well-balanced loot is an important part of the game, but the nature of the maps is also important, so we are testing all changes carefully until we reach a point that feels good.

Statement on PUBG.com

With this, they probably want to reassure players who were already worried after the leak that PUBG would make half-hearted changes to the map and wants to alter the popular classic map.

A top comment on Reddit during the leak was: “Please don’t make Erangel like Vikendi. Erangel only needs minor loot buffs and some improvements in topology at a few spots. Not a million buildings. PLEASE DO NOT RUIN ERANGEL.”

PUBG Erangel Map Screenshot Gameplay
How will Erangel change?

When will the new Erangel map be playable? It is not possible to say exactly at this point. In the announcement, the PUBG team writes that they plan to begin “testing the revised Erangel map in a few weeks.” As soon as there are more detailed information on this, we will report on it.

How players are reacting to the announcement: On Reddit, players show mixed reactions. They are curious about the change but want Erangel to not fundamentally change. They worry that the map will not feel the same as they are used to.

“I think it’s good of PUBG Corp. to provide an official statement sooner rather than later. Still, please ensure that Erangel remains true to its roots after the rework.”

Players hope for small improvements here and there. New buildings should not always utilize the same look. Some of the last locations, when the circle gets very small, could become tactically more interesting with new buildings.

Nonetheless, the fear remains that too many changes could “ruin” the map.

Where would you like to see changes to Erangel? Or should everything stay as it is?

On the “new” map, you will surely meet streamers:

Another MMORPG is closing – What went wrong with Kritika Online?

Bad news for MMORPG fans who are into Asian action. En Masse announces that Kritika Online has failed. The game was supposed to be established as an action MMORPG by En Masse, but now the European and North American versions are being shut down.

This is what En Masse says: The Product Manager of Kritika Online speaks up with clear facts (via En Masse). He is sad but has to announce that En Masse is ending the service for the North American and European versions of Kritika Online.

They thank everyone who played Kritika Online in the last two years.

Kritika-Online-wallpaper

This is how it continues:

  • With a patch today, the game will be placed into “maintenance mode”.
  • Players can no longer create new characters.
  • They also cannot spend EMP points in Kritika Online, which is En Masse’s premium currency.
  • However, all shop items in Kritika Online will be made free.
  • And players will receive EMP points back for the “Kreds” they still have. That is the currency of Kritika Online.

When is it finally over? On April 30, 2019, the servers will be permanently shut down.

Kritika-Monk-02

What if you want to continue playing? Players can continue to play the Korean version of Kritika Online and take their accounts there.

Players were said to receive an email by March 22. The requirement is that they had logged in again between January 1, 2019, and March 6.

Pay2Win Asia Grinder with great fights

How did it go for Kritika Online? The game came to Europe and North America at the end of 2017. We tested Kritika Online at release:

  • Users generally praised the fast-paced gameplay but missed depth.
  • Overall, many found the game simply too grindy.
  • There were no new, significant highlights.

After the launch at the end of 2017, there was less and less news about the game. This was probably a sign that Kritika Online had failed to retain enough players.

In discussions about the game on platforms like reddit, Kritika Online is described as a “Pay2Win” game with the hated energy mechanic. You had to grind but couldn’t because you lacked the energy for it.

Additionally, it was very repetitive, offered too little content, the instances were too small, and overall felt unsatisfying.

However, on Steam, there are also positive remarks for Kritika Online, highlighting the entertaining gameplay in combat. People who enjoy hard grinding probably spent several hours with Kritika Online.

Kritika-Online-Dame

Player numbers simply declined over the years

What went wrong with Kritika Online? En Masse simply failed to reach a player base that was large enough to keep Kritika Online alive and appear as an “active MMORPG”.

Due to the rather lukewarm rating, there was no “word-of-mouth” propaganda, and the title stayed under the radar of many players.

According to Steamcharts, Kritika Online never really managed to establish itself on Steam:

  • In 2017, they could still hold about 600 people per month (average player count).
  • But by April 2018, it was only 300.
  • In 2019, the number dropped to 130.

If the numbers on the Kritika Online launcher were similar to those on Steam, it seems clear why En Masse is pulling the plug.

Here are the new details about the endgame of The Division 2 that everyone has been waiting for

In the State of the Game on March 6, the developers of The Division 2 finally talked in the live stream about the progress system in the endgame and how you can unlock more and more activities. We summarize the information for you.

This information is about: In the community live stream of the Division makers, this time it was about the endgame and how you can unlock more world tiers and activities with increasing progress.

In the endgame, certain strongholds or fortifications are waiting for you, which you must conquer first before moving on. We will show you how progress works in the endgame.

When does the endgame begin? As soon as you have reached level 30 and completed the campaign.

the-division-2-agenten-waffen

The Strongholds of The Division 2

What are strongholds? Most will first think of the Stronghold Dungeons from Anthem, but this is a different feature.

In The Division 2, the strongholds are literally fortifications. However, they are not only unlocked in the endgame but are also available during the campaign.

They are much larger and more challenging missions. Experts from The Division 1 will certainly remember the incursions.

the-division-agent-cosmetic

According to the developers, the various fortifications belong to one of the enemy factions of The Division 2. They probably play an important role in the story and are only unlocked when you complete certain story missions.

These are the factions of The Division 2:

Strongholds are also important to unlock an essential part of the endgame: the world tiers.

World Tiers – the Progress System of the Endgame

What are world tiers? Like in The Division 1, there are five world tiers starting from level 30, which determine the loot and difficulty level of the entire game world.

Furthermore, the gear score is linked to the tiers, which indicates the strength of your equipment and determines the level of the stats.

If you reached the endgame in The Division 1, the world tiers were immediately available. You could freely switch between them.

This is how it will be in The Division 2: Unlike its predecessor, upon reaching level 30, not even world tier 1 is available. To unlock the world tiers, you must first complete all fortifications.

division-2-agenten

This happens at world tier 1: If you have completed all fortifications beforehand and unlocked world tier 1, the entire game world will be turned upside down. Captured control points will be attacked by the new endgame faction Black Tusk. The other factions are also suddenly on the move, as Black Tusk is attacking them too.

Moreover, the strongholds are reset and taken over by Black Tusk.

von Tarek Zehrer

Higher World Tiers Mean More Endgame Features

With each higher world tier, new endgame content is unlocked.
Here begins the progress system of the endgame.

This is how you unlock additional world tiers:

  • To be able to select world tiers 2-4, you must complete one of the fortifications per world tier.
  • However, this is subject to conditions. Fortifications are only available in the endgame after you have completed 2 specific invaded missions.
  • Only then can you tackle them and select the next world tier.

So you essentially have a second campaign because the story is also supposed to continue in the endgame. But that’s not all.

the-division-2-chem-launcher
Agent with Chem. Launcher

This is what to expect starting from World Tier 3: From world tier 3, you can unlock Cassie, the “Xur” variant of The Division 2. She has high-quality offers.

With world tier 3, “The Deck of 52” will also appear in the game world. This consists of named bosses made up of the 4 factions mentioned above. Each boss has a card and brings “special rewards”. If you have a deck of 52 cards, the bosses will respawn.

World Tier 4 Brings You Bounties, Difficulty Level and Named Bosses

This is what to expect with world tier 4: With the fourth tier, several endgame features are unlocked:

  • Bounties: With WR4, new faction bounties become available. If you complete 2 hard bounties of a faction, a special bounty with special rewards will be unlocked. The principle is reminiscent of the high-ranking targets in The Division 1. Regular bounties are already available before the endgame.
  • “Target Intel Drops”: These are probably target data that were also available in the predecessor. You need these to unlock bounties.
the division 2 - kopfgelder
This is a possible target of a bounty mission. These probably cost target data.
  • New Difficulty Level: In addition, the Challenging difficulty level will be unlocked. This was also present in the predecessor. Enemies only consist of elite opponents, accordingly, the loot improves.
  • Daily and Weekly Projects: These are now available in the settlements, similar to the weekly and daily tasks in The Division 1. There, you had to complete certain gathering tasks or other similar missions to receive rewards. According to the live stream, these projects should not expire.
  • Stronghold “Tidal Basin”: This is the base of the Black Tusk. This must be completed to unlock world tier 5, the last of the tiers.

And what about world tier 5? The creators are still keeping quiet about this.

Developer Massive wants to keep the endgame and the game world constantly “fresh”. More information will follow at a later time, but they do not want to reveal too much.

You can find the summary of the information in the subreddit of The Division 2.

Many players are now criticizing in Fallout 76 that melee weapons are significantly superior to rifles, pistols, and other firearms. However, this apparently does not apply to a particularly quirky weapon.

This is the weapon in question: The discussion is about the Döner knife, in English: Shishkebab. As strange as it sounds, the Döner knife is indeed a weapon in Fallout 76. It consists of a long blade that is engulfed in fire by a tank and a small flame.

The Döner knife has existed since Fallout 3 and has been one of the most popular weapons in the game ever since. In Fallout 3 and New Vegas, it was made of an old lawnmower blade and a motorcycle tank. The new version is more reminiscent of a modified Japanese sword.

von Benedict Grothaus

Since its inception, the Döner knife has been considered an iconic cult weapon and is very popular among many players solely because of its appearance.

This is what the Döner knife looked like in Fallout 3. Image source: Fallout Wiki.

Why the Döner knife is too weak: Players criticize that the Döner knife simply does not deal enough damage. The biggest problem is that while it is a melee weapon, it only benefits from strength scaling halfway.

This is because the damage of the Döner knife is calculated only halfway as physical damage. The other half is from the fire damage type. The problem is discussed on reddit and finds a lot of support. The creator of the thread writes:

You could literally DOUBLE the base damage of the weapon and it would still only be a B- or A-Tier weapon. It is that bad. Yes, a 100% increase in base damage wouldn’t make it OP. Just usable.

Some other fans compare the Döner knife’s effectiveness to the rather weak clubs. There are even jokes about the fact that even rolling pins, which could drop as unpopular loot from the end boss, scale better.

Fallout 76 Power Armor fighting a Brandbeast dropping a rolling pin as loot title
Players even find a rolling pin better in fun.

How should the Döner knife become stronger? Fans provide a few improvement suggestions on how the Döner knife could somehow be made stronger or at least more useful. Mainly, the damage should be increased

This should make it comparably strong as the Deathclaw Gauntlet, which is currently considered one of the strongest melee weapons. Other players are also calling for a rework of other weapons like the chainsaw or adding more crazy suggestions. For example, it should automatically cook meat when enemies are defeated with it.

fallout 76 player cooks
Players could save themselves the cooking if the Döner knife cooked the meat directly.

Bethesda has already responded to the criticism. Community manager ladydevann has responded to the thread and wants to ensure that the feedback reaches the developers.

Do you also want a stronger Döner knife?

Whether the Döner knife is included is still unknown, but there are big plans for Fallout 76:

Pokémon GO: Rayquaza is finally coming back, but 2 things are bothering

The long-awaited return of Rayquaza in Pokémon GO is approaching. However, some players are concerned about two things, which has dampened the mood in the community slightly.

Here is the good news: For months, we have been waiting for the return of Rayquaza. But now Niantic has announced that the legendary Pokémon will return for a raid weekend.

Here lies the problem: Despite this good news, the event is not well-received everywhere. In particular, two issues are seen as problematic: the short event duration and the absence of Shiny.

We delve into the players’ concerns and explain what the issue is for some players.

Reason 1: There is no Shiny Rayquaza

This is what Niantic says about it: Regarding the Shiny topic, the Japanese Twitter account of Pokémon GO made a statement. They explained that there will be no shiny Rayquaza at the event.

Shiny Rayquaza Pokémon GO
Shiny Rayquaza will not be available for the time being.

This is why it is a problem: Niantic has hosted such raid weekends several times. There, players were able to catch the shiny version of the Pokémon. This was also the case most recently with Latias.

Moreover, the raid days of the legendary birds or Gengar also gave players the opportunity to catch their shiny forms for the first time.

It is all the more surprising that there will be no Shiny Rayquaza. Many players were hoping for such a weekend with the shiny form of the legendary Pokémon and are now disappointed.

This is what players think about it: On Reddit, there is a lot of discussion, and players’ opinions are mostly negative. A user named sts_ssp writes on Reddit: “I would have invested numerous raid passes for Shiny Rayquaza, but since there is no Shiny, I will wait until next time.”

“I won’t spend my premium passes if it’s not shiny. This is so disappointing,” writes another Reddit user.

Pokémon GO Pikachu sad tears
Not only Pikachu is sad that there is no Shiny Rayquaza.

But there is also hope: Other players see something positive in all of this. They assume that Rayquaza will definitely come back again. Niantic should hopefully bring the legendary Pokémon in its shiny form then. Players also hope that this event will last longer than just a weekend.

Reason 2: Rayquaza is only available for one weekend

These are the event times: Rayquaza will return for a short time. You will only have the opportunity to encounter Rayquaza in raids from Saturday, March 16, to Monday, March 18.

This is why it is a problem: For many players, this time frame is simply too short. If one is unavailable that weekend, then there is almost no chance to catch Rayquaza.

Pokémon GO Rayquaza title
Rayquaza returns only for a short time

Rayquaza is one of the best Pokémon in the game, which makes it all the more frustrating that it is only available for a short time.

This is the positive aspect: Since the event time is so short and there is no shiny, there will surely be another event surrounding Rayquaza. Therefore, players will have two chances to catch the legendary Pokémon.

What do you think about the event? Are you excited for Rayquaza or is it too short available for you?

Do you have all the gyms in your city at gold level? If not, now is the best time:

In Fortnite: Battle Royale there are new tasks for week 2 of season 8. This time it involves pirate cannons and a journey to the edge of the world.

In week 2 of season 8 there isn’t much spectacular. You have to defeat opponents and visit locations again. But there is also a fun task involving cannons.

Free and paid: If you want to complete all 7 challenges, you need the battle pass for season 8. It costs  950 V-Bucks (9.50 Euro). Those without a pass can only tackle the three free tasks of week 2.

Ideally, complete the task in a mode with enhanced loot, as more supply drops tend to fall.

Challenge 3 – Eliminate 3 opponents in Salty Springs or Haunted Hills

How to complete the task: This is the usual kill task that shouldn’t be a big problem.

Challenge 4 – Gain health from apples (Battle Pass only)

How to complete the task: This task isn’t a big problem either. Every player should have used an apple at some point to regenerate 25 health points. Phase 2 requires 50 health points from campfires (Locations can be found here). Phase 3 requires 75 health from medkits.

Challenge 5 – Visit the northernmost, southernmost, easternmost, and westernmost point of the island (Battle Pass only)

After victory over Real: FIFA 19 players want hero cards for Ajax players

On Tuesday evening, Ajax Amsterdam sensationally eliminated the defending champion Real Madrid 4:1 from the UEFA Champions League. This was also noticeable in FIFA 19.

This is how the Champions League match went: The Dutch traditional club had to overcome a 2:1 deficit from the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16. Against the defending champion Real Madrid, this seemed like an impossible task.

But the team led by goalscorers Ziyech, David Neres, Tadić, and Schöne not only played sensationally, they also scored four goals against the “Royal” squad. A deficit from which Real could not recover. In a wild match, the underdog triumphed – and suddenly became extremely popular in FIFA 19.

Played great against Real: Dušan Tadić

“What a performance”: Players want Hero cards

This is how the FIFA community reacts: Not only in real football, but also in the FIFA 19 community, the “Miracle of Madrid” was celebrated. Because not only in the Champions League mode does the European competition play a role: In Ultimate Team, Ajax players are currently receiving a lot of attention.

For fun, “End of an Era” cards for the Real players are being suggested in the FIFA subreddit, while for match winner Tadic, pretty much every kind of special card is being proposed. A Reddit thread voted by over 2400 users simply calls for: “Dear EA, please give the entire Ajax team Hero cards.”

This is how Hero cards for Tagliafico and Tadić could look

These are Hero cards: Such cards do exist in FIFA 19. The purple Hero cards are awarded only to players who have achieved extraordinary performances, such as winning a decisive match almost single-handedly. There are not many of them in FIFA 19 yet.

Recently, FIFA fans have been overwhelmed by the abundance of special cards, but in this particular case, most would likely overlook it. Especially since the Ajax cards are currently skyrocketing in price on the transfer market.

Ajax players make the cash register ring

Ajax prices explode: Anyone who bet on the underdog to win and stocked up on Ajax players before the match must have made a nice profit. The Champions League victory was immediately noticeable on the transfer market.

For example, Tadić’s UCL card, whose price started to climb during the match. From a value of around 2,800 coins, the card jumped to 7,500 – and it is still trending upward.

Source: Futbin

Tagliafico sold out: Even Tadić’s teammates saw their price ceilings suddenly drop. Especially the special cards that are currently available for Ajax became increasingly popular. However, Tagliafico’s RTTF card overshadows all others.

The value of this card increases with each round Ajax progresses in the Champions League. Since the Dutch were close to elimination against Real, the RTTF card was relatively cheap to obtain. Then the victory came, and the price exploded:

Source: Futbin

“Tagliafico bought me Ronaldo”: A player on Reddit reports: “I had a million and thought ‘screw it’ and spent everything on Tagliafico, who just cost 30,000 coins. I made 600,000 coins in 3 minutes.”

Shortly after, the same player noted: “Damn, Tagliafico is extinct. I could have made another 200,000 if I had waited five more minutes. Anyway, I’m still happy.” And indeed: The RTTF card is currently not available on the transfer market anymore. Some players evidently still trust Ajax to take the next step.

Investing has definitely paid off. Will a Champions League miracle also transfer to FIFA 19 next week? Feel free to try out investments in TOTW until then:

The Division 2 will not be political, but provokes with Trump reference

The creators of The Division 2 have released a pseudo-state of emergency statement from Mexico via Twitter. A reference to current political events?

This is the reference to political events: The official Twitter account of The Division 2 released a “press release” yesterday declaring a state of emergency in Mexico. The country aims to respond to the critical situation in the USA.

The statement mentions that Mexico will immediately begin construction of a wall. The borders to the USA are closed. The aim is to minimize the risk of infected individuals fleeing to Mexico. Thus, the government attempts to protect the people in Mexico.

The Mexican government has deployed troops to the border to prevent the entry of U.S. citizens with a zero-tolerance mandate.

Mexican officials are in contact with Division agents who are relentlessly fighting for the interests of the citizens of the United States, Washington D.C., and democracy, but they have lost faith and trust in the U.S. government. Until that changes, the borders remain closed.

division-2-agents
Chaos reigns in The Division 2

Why are the developers tweeting this? This is a marketing gag for The Division 2.

In the shared-world shooter, which releases on March 15, Division agents must restore law and order in Washington D.C. After a virus outbreak that originated in New York, the country descended into chaos. Politics collapsed, wicked factions seized power, and only the Division unit remains to protect the civilian population.

With the now released state of emergency declaration, the developers emphasize how dramatic the setting in The Division 2 will be. Mexico is isolating itself, the USA is falling apart. The Division agents are the last hope.

Why is this so controversial? Anyone who has been following U.S. politics in recent weeks and months will have noticed that a wall between Mexico and the USA is a big, very real topic. However, in real politics, it is not Mexico, but the USA, under President Trump, that wants to build a wall to stop migrants from the south.

division-2-agent-dark-zone-south
This wall in The Division 2 separates a Dark Zone

Is this satire from The Division 2?

Is there more to it than PR? Some players view The Division 2’s reversal of roles between the two parties—allowing Mexico to build a wall to protect itself from refugees coming from the USA—as political satire.

There is discussion and a lack of consensus on reddit about whether this is amusing, too political, or simply a questionable PR stunt meant to provoke. An admin points out in the reddit forum that the post is alarmingly close to satire, but makes sense in the context of the game’s story.

Ubisoft’s stance on political themes in games: Ubisoft has previously stated that they do not want to address political themes in The Division 2. The story in the game is fictional. It is pure fiction. Additionally, politics is bad for business, so they will not adopt a political stance.

Accordingly, this marketing gag, which quite clearly resembles real-world events, comes as a surprise.

Whoever still needs reputation for the allied races in WoW should hurry now

In World of Warcraft, two new allied races are coming soon. With Patch 8.1.5, the Zandalari trolls will join the Horde and the Kul Tiran will join the Alliance. However, you will first need to gain the appropriate reputation. You are currently farming that faster.

How do I gain reputation faster? At the moment, there are several events that increase your earned reputation. Since the last server restart, the weekly world quest event has been active, granting you 50% more reputation from world quests.

Additionally, it is currently the Darkmoon Faire. Anyone who rides the carousel at the fair will receive a buff that increases earned reputation by an additional 10% for up to 60 minutes. Alternatively, you can buy and wear Darkmoon hats.

In addition, there are contracts that you can receive from scribes. These grant you a small reputation boost with the chosen faction for completing any world quest.

All these buffs can stack, except for the “Yay!” buff and the Darkmoon hat, of which only one can be active at a time.

WoW Waist of Time title
If you want to earn reputation quickly, you should hurry.

Why do I need to hurry? The Darkmoon Faire is only available until Saturday, March 9th. So you have the chance to gain a lot of reputation only until then.

The world quest event will not end until March 13th. Since Patch 8.1.5 will also be released on March 13th, this is not a problem. However, it also means that you have only a few days left to gather the required reputation.

WoW Azshara Naga title
Patch 8.1.5 will likely advance the story about Azshara.

You need these factions for the new allied races: If you want to unlock the Zandalari trolls or the Kul Tiran, you must have exalted reputation with certain factions:

  • For the Kul Tiran, you need reputation with the Proudmoore Admiralty (Tiragarde Sound)
  • For the Zandalari trolls, you need reputation with the Zandalari Empire (Zuldazar)

Once you have the required reputation, you only need to fulfill the other requirements in Patch 8.1.5.

If you want to try both races now, you can play them on the PTR. Patch 8.1.5 is currently being tested there.

WoW Zandalari Druid on the PTR

Bonus also useful for old allied races

If you started later or haven’t been interested so far, you might also be missing the first allied races that were newly added with Battle for Azeroth: Dark Iron Dwarves (Alliance) and Mag’har Orcs (Horde).

For both races, you also need reputation, which you can gain faster with the current events. You need reputation with your respective war faction, the 7th Legion for the Alliance or the Honorbound for the Horde.

New MMORPG announced – What we know about Project V

The creators of Black Desert, Pearl Abyss, have announced that they are developing a new MMORPG. It is codenamed “Project V” and is set to come with a new engine. It is intended to be a game for the whole family.

What’s behind Project V: Pearl Abyss announced “Project V” a few hours ago.

It is meant to be a “lovable family MMORPG that everyone can enjoy together. It will be a “casual MMORPG”. This is evident from a Facebook post by Pearl Abyss.

At the moment, we do not know when it will be released, for which platforms it will be available, and how it will look in terms of a port to the West:

  • An image shows a girl sitting alone on a pole with a skateboard and a type of vacuum cleaner
  • In a reflection behind her, however, it can be seen that other animal and plant beings have also taken a seat on the pole with her
  • In the background of the image, futuristic skyscrapers can be seen.

Perhaps this is a nod to an “Augmented Reality” or “Virtual Reality” setting.

Project-V-Picture

What’s special about it: As MMOCulture reports, Project V uses a completely new game engine that has been specifically created for new games.

It does not use the engine from Black Desert, as that is already 9 years old. The new engine is intended to propel Pearl Abyss forward and enable them to compete with AAA titles globally.

Another project from Pearl Abyss, the online shooter Project K, is being developed with this engine.

Pearl Abyss’s big ambitions

These are Pearl Abyss’s ambitions: The Black Desert developers from South Korea have gained momentum in recent years.

Thanks to the tremendous success of Black Desert Mobile in Asia, their war chests are well-filled. Thus, Pearl Abyss has acquired the EVE Online developers CCP Games.

Additionally, a large new headquarters in South Korea is currently under construction.

Pearl Abyss has great ambitions, as the new project and the new engine demonstrate:

An Exotic is currently making all your weapons in Destiny 2 excessively strong

A new bug has been discovered in Destiny 2 that significantly buffs equipped weapons. What’s going on with this?

What kind of bug is this? The bug is triggered by the exotic fusion rifle “One Thousand Voices”. This is an Exotic that rarely drops from the boss in the “Last Wish” raid as a random drop.

With the Season 6 update, One Thousand Voices was buffed by +25% damage in PvE.

However, it seems Bungie made a mistake. Because when you equip One Thousand Voices, suddenly all other weapons are also increased by +25% PvE damage.

No effect on PvP

How the bug was discovered: Professional streamer Gladd recently shared a video on Twitter showcasing this bug. We embed the video here:

Recommended editorial content

At this point you will find external content from Twitter that complements the article.

I consent to external content being displayed to me. Personal data can be transmitted to third party platforms. Read more about our privacy policy.
Link to the Twitter content

He writes that equipping 1000 Voices buffs all equipped weapons by 25%. That is not okay.

He provides proof in the video. He compares the damage output of a hand cannon before and after equipping One Thousand Voices. The result clearly shows that the hand cannon also experiences a significant damage buff (from 746 to 918 precision damage).

Is the bug only in PvE? After further testing, Gladd confirms that the buff does not affect PvP. Other users report that the bug is also active in Gambit, but only applies to PvE enemies.

What does Bungie say about it? We currently do not have an official statement from Bungie regarding this. However, a fix will likely be necessary sooner rather than later. After all, this is a game bug that gives advantages in the PvEvP mode Gambit and is triggered solely by equipping a weapon. Multiple guardians will benefit from it without even knowing.

Therefore, there will certainly be no penalties for exploiting the bug.

Until the bug is fixed, PvE will be 25% easier for you – as long as you own One Thousand Voices.

H1Z1 wants to return to the golden days as Z1, before PUBG came

Under the title Z1 Battle Royale, NantG launched a new version of the online shooter H1Z1: King of the Kill. The new developer is also relying on features that had actually been removed from the game to bring fans back.

H1Z1 is back!

What is Z1 Battle Royale? Essentially, it is the online shooter H1Z1: King of the Kill, which aims to revive the old gaming experience under a new name.

H1Z1-Auto-Royale-07

What is different? Besides the name, a new developer, NantG, is now in charge. This developer wants to return to the game’s glory days to lead it into the future. The title is also supposed to visually remind players of the past.

That’s why it’s a “nostalgic” gaming experience: Z1 Battle Royale aims to bring the game back to the point when it had many players. In 2017, with the rise of PUBG, H1Z1 started to decline.

There are some changes:

  • When players log in, they see the old loading screen.
  • The UI has been modified to look more like it did in the past.
  • The team brought back “old” animations, textures, and lighting effects and relies on game mechanics, such as with vehicles, that had actually long been changed.
  • Old weapon stats, bullet speed, and even the old map are also making a comeback.
  • There are no more “Points of Interest.”

Nostalgia adorned with innovations

What’s new? The team not only returned to some elements from the past but also introduced new features:

  • You now complete quests in the game world.
  • You now search the field for fragments that grant you credits.
  • You face daily challenges.
  • Season 3 and the Ranked Pro mode are live.
  • You can earn plenty of interesting rewards.
H1Z1-Gratis-01

How is the new version received? Discussions about the new version are taking place on Reddit. Many express their enthusiasm as it nearly brings back the gameplay feel from about two years ago. However, the new version is struggling with some technical issues, resulting in occasional crashes.

Some fans feel that the changes are not far enough and wish for Z1 Battle Royale to play just like H1Z1: King of the Kill did in 2016.

According to Steamcharts, a lot of players are checking out the new version. At its peak, over 12,700 players were online simultaneously. Whether this can be maintained will be shown in the coming weeks. However, interest seems to be present.

Anthem in Review: This is how the readers of MeinMMO rate it

While the gameplay with the Javelins, flying, and combos was a lot of fun for most of you, there is considerable room for improvement in many aspects of Anthem.

[…] The game will probably be good by the end of 2019, but right now I can’t imagine I’ll be playing it very long, even though the gameplay is really fun. […]

Comment by Sunface

Even though the problems with Anthem may not bother everyone equally, many of you hope that improvements will come over time. Most see something special in Anthem and believe that it can become really good if Bioware stays committed.

The game fills a niche that neither Destiny nor The Division can accommodate. If BioWare releases additional content, diligently fixes bugs, improves stability, and implements important quality-of-life adjustments, I see a promising future for the game.

Here opinions diverged: Only in the point of story were the MeinMMO users absolutely divided. There was a wide range of opinions and statements.

[…] The game entertained me very well. I find the story, including side missions, absolutely solid.

MeinMMO readers like buYanotherSheep and Captain Rex agreed with him. While Captain Rex noted that he would have liked to see more of it.

The small story snippets discovered by the freelancers were rather praised. They provided entertainment value and elicited some chuckles. These include funny radio broadcasts that gave more insight into the characters and the world or quirky adventures like those of detective Hoppel.

Dominion are the main antagonists of Anthem

The user Kristian Steiffen, on the other hand, did not like the story:

[…] The story is… really not worthy of such a great story-making studio like BioWare. The story neither has truly surprising twists, nor a serious “opponent”, nor interesting characters. […]

He is by no means alone in his opinion in the comments.

Quite often, MeinMMO readers have also said that the story in a game like Anthem actually interests them less and therefore it’s not a big problem for them if it’s not that great.

For these readers, the gameplay elements were a more important factor.

It’s a balancing act that the developers are trying with Anthem: fans of single-player games with deep stories might uninstall the game in disappointment after finishing the campaign. Players who want constant co-op action with friends or teammates assigned through matchmaking might be annoyed by the numerous dialogues between missions.

The community says: Solid foundation with room for improvement

In general, the rating of Anthem among MeinMMO users is somewhat higher than among the trade press.

MeinMMO readers give Anthem 72% in the test

The distribution of votes in the survey: A total of 4,280 users participated in the survey over the past week.

While there were outliers both upwards and downwards, the average rating is 7.17 out of a maximum of 10 points. That would be 72% for Anthem in the MeinMMO reader test in the usual 100-point scoring format.

On Meta-Critic, Anthem stands at 60% on PC.

While there were outliers both upwards and downwards, the average rating is 7.17 out of a maximum of 10 points. That would be 72% for Anthem in the MeinMMO reader test in the usual 100-point scoring format.

On Meta-Critic, Anthem stands at 60% on PC.

Is Anthem worth it for me?

Anthem is worth it for you if:

  • You enjoy exploring beautiful and atmospheric worlds in games.
  • You have always wanted to feel like Iron Man.
  • You like collecting lore snippets scattered throughout the world that provide additional info about the story.
  • You tend to take your time in games and explore everything thoroughly.
  • You find the constant grind for new upgrades satisfying.

Anthem is not for you if:

  • You place a lot of value on getting to the endgame quickly and seeing a lot of content there.
  • You are looking for PvP content.
  • You want a story depth like in other BioWare titles.
  • You have absolutely no patience with bugs and performance issues.
  • You expect a lot of variety in mission and quest design.

The story divides the MeinMMO readers

The story divides the MeinMMO readers

We wanted to know your opinion on Anthem and you responded: Here’s how the readers of MeinMMO rate the online RPG Anthem (PC, PS4, Xbox One) in the review.

Anthem was one of the games that fans were excited about since the announcement. At MeinMMO, it was the undisputed winner of the poll for the most anticipated games of 2019.

Player expectations were high, and accordingly, the first reactions and ratings for Anthem were controversial.

Anthem Interceptor Pilot

While the trade press has been quite critical of the game there were many gamers who said that Anthem is fun despite its flaws.

What does the MeinMMO community say now? We asked you to rate Anthem in a survey on a scale from 1 to 10.

A total of 4,280 readers participated, and you also left numerous comments. The average rating was 7.17 out of 10 points.

After a week, a very clear trend emerged, and you often agreed in the comments on most positive and negative points.

Fly through the vast world of Anthem

Visually a beautiful game world: One of the points that many of you mentioned right at the beginning of your comments was the world of Anthem.

The world is, according to user comments, very beautiful to look at. The design of the world of Anthem is also praised: it has a mysterious flair and is fun to explore.

[…] Anthem already offers an appealing, pretty world. The graphics are obviously stunning and even run smoothly on my rather old machine. […]

Comment by Kristian Steiffen

The open world needs more content: However, you wish for more variety in this beautiful world. For some MeinMMO readers, there isn’t enough happening in the open world.

Open world events are rare and are not marked on the map. There could also be more wild animals and monsters that would give the world more life.

[…] The variety of world events is a bit scant and repeats quickly.
Kill this, defend that, deliver part A to B. […]

Comment by Pacman

The Javelins are the stars of Anthem

That’s why you liked the Javelins: Another feature of Anthem that most readers agreed on in the comments is the Javelins—the four classes of the game.

This core aspect of Anthem and the gameplay elements associated with it convinced many of you.

[…] The four different Javelins play very differently, and that you don’t have to play everything from scratch for each Javelin is a very good idea. […]

Comment by TomRobJonsen

The Javelins all play differently according to your comments and have their strengths, even if the balance is not yet 100%. The four different mechs cover most playstyles with their builds, and there’s something for almost everyone.

Ranger, Storm, Colossus, and Interceptor Javelin

Abilities convey a feeling of strength: The various skills of the Javelin are also convincing. They feel powerful according to reader comments, and the combo system is especially fun in teams with friends.

Even readers who ultimately rated Anthem negatively found the system good.

[…] When I hover over the battlefield, freeze a whole company of enemies, and my buddy smashes down from above with his Colossus, we cheer like little kids when the ice cream truck comes. […]

Comment by Sleeping-Ex

Flying is the most popular feature: Special mention among the features goes to flying. Many of you considered this one of the best features of the Javelins.

Storm Javelin rains death and destruction from the sky

A large portion of readers in the comments praised the wonderful feeling that flying provides and the intuitive control of the Javelins in flight.

[…] Flying is incredible; it’s fun to be able to escape from dangerous situations or simply explore the world. […]

Comment by ChrizQ

Some also expressed slight frustration that flying is time-limited and that due to overheating, you either have to find a waterfall or land.

Gostha said: “The only thing that brings Anthem down for me is the nice weather in the game! I can’t fly for long! Bring on the rain!”

The loading screen of terrible infinity and other bugs

This is what you criticized about the performance: One of the main criticisms of Anthem were performance issues, as well as bugs many of you encountered.

Especially the many and seemingly endless loading screens really annoyed the readers of MeinMMO.

[…] Loading times are pure horror. Because if you don’t catch up with your team in time, you land back on the loading screen […]

Comment by Boki Daja

By now, loading times have improved thanks to the Day 1 patch, and also the forced catching up of stragglers in Anthem has been relaxed, but the issue with numerous loading screens still persists according to you.

A loading screen in Anthem - you encounter them often
Long loading screens were a criticism point for many testers.

Your comments on the bugs were rather mixed. While most readers found them annoying, rather few believed they would completely ruin the fun. Some of the bugs listed included:

  • Sound bug that causes loss of audio in the game and can only be fixed by restarting.
  • Repeated crashes on PC and consoles. On PS4, it can even be dangerous for the console.
  • Connection drops during missions that sometimes lead to loss of loot.
  • Bug that makes entering the Javelins impossible.
  • Quest and mission progress sometimes does not update.

In general, you were quite unanimous in the comments that the bugs and performance issues are a problem, but they will still be fixed over time.

Monotonous tasks and lack of endgame

The most criticism was received for the mission and quest design, as well as the endgame of Anthem.

This is what you criticized about the missions: According to the MeinMMO readership, the missions and quests are designed to be far too monotonous. Just like with the world events, more variety was wished for here.

[…] The missions are always of the sort to first go to point A, then to point B, and then to point C. […]

Comment by KronosX2

And many other readers also found that there is room for improvement.

These are the problems with the endgame: The endgame of Anthem is also one of the features that received a lot of criticism.

Many of you felt that the multiple difficulty levels do not compensate for the fact that the missions are monotonous, and there are only three Strongholds.

[…] I think there are too few Strongholds; 3 is really scant, it should already be at least double that. […]

Comment by Kendrick Young

But the lack of variety among enemies was also criticized, and you requested a change in the comments on that point.

[…] Bosses have no mechanics and are just cookie-cutter bullet sponges. Hardly any variety among enemy types, as you feel like you only fight against one of the 3 factions 90% of the time. […]

Comment by LittleEllie

Another problem was the hit feedback during fights. Especially on higher difficulty levels, enemies, like snipers, are often able to send a Javelin to the junkyard with just a few shots.

anthem weapons titan
Titans are among the more common boss enemies in Anthem

Accordingly, it was really frustrating for some of you that it was difficult to see where you were being shot from due to the lack of hit feedback.

[…] I never know where I am being shot or hit from, and some of those melee fighters or snipers can hit you hard to 5%. […]

Comment by ConsoleCowboy

Bosses are often described as challenging, but deep mechanics are missed. The Javelins, on the other hand, are currently the key to the complex, varied gameplay:

I particularly noticed the parallels to other MMORPGs and role-playing games here. The use of the specific abilities of individual Javelins and the resulting synergies are key to completing activities at the highest difficulty levels.

At first, I triggered combos with my Storm myself, rarely paid attention to my teammates, and hardly communicated with them. By now, my build consists solely of weapons and abilities that inflict various status effects on enemies to prepare combos for the other Javelins.

User review by Christoph Schmeling

This is what you say about the loot: Your opinions on the loot in Anthem were rather divided. What was predominantly rated well:

  • The random rolls on gear, which motivate the grind for better items.
  • The strength of masterwork items, which are noticeably impactful as upgrades.
  • The various abilities and components that can greatly influence and change builds.
  • The recent adjustments moved in the right direction.

But there were also negative points you mentioned:

  • The inscriptions on the items are sometimes totally nonsensical and are poorly explained.
  • Effort and reward for the higher difficulties of the Stronghold don’t pay off, especially for activities from Grandmaster 2.
  • Normal and legendary or masterwork weapons look the same; there is no variety in weapon design.
  • The absence of rerolls.

The story divides the MeinMMO readers

Here opinions diverged: Only in the point of story were the MeinMMO users absolutely divided. There was a wide range of opinions and statements.

[…] The game entertained me very well. I find the story, including side missions, absolutely solid.

Comment by Sempertalis
