In Destiny 2, many exotic weapons from the predecessor can now be found. Bungie repeatedly brings back popular firearms from part 1. But which weapons exotics are still missing? Is almost everything really back?
What is the deal with the returnees? In Destiny 2, the entire arsenal of Guardians was destroyed during the assault on the old tower, or so Bungie justified the hard reset at release. Guardians could not keep their gear from part 1 in the successor to Destiny.
However, since the release of Destiny 2, Bungie has consistently brought back numerous exotic weapons from the predecessor – the latest of which just returned in Season 7. And it looks like, after Bad Juju or the Primus, more firearms from Destiny 1 will return with Shadowkeep this autumn.
Although some fans are undeniably happy about the return of an old love like Dorn or SUROS Regime, there is also significant criticism. It is said that almost everything is back, so one might as well play Destiny 1. The word “recycling” comes up repeatedly.
But which weapon exotics are still missing from the first part? Is almost everything really back? Which ones would you like to see in the game? We take a closer look at the remaining exotic arsenal from Destiny 1.

These exotic primary weapons from Destiny are still missing in Destiny 2
Necrochasm: This is an auto rifle closely connected to the Hive. Some fans therefore consider it very likely that this weapon could possibly return with the Shadowkeep expansion this autumn.
Vex Mythoclast: An iconic fusion rifle from the Vault of Glass with a unique firing mode that completely turned around PvP in Destiny 1 for a while. This weapon exotic is definitely one of the biggest fan favorites. A return would therefore be quite conceivable.
Khvostov 7G-0X: The exotic version of the very first weapon that your Guardian got their hands on in Destiny. However, this auto rifle was never particularly popular with fans. Therefore, a return is not considered likely.
Zhalo Supercell: A very popular auto rifle that could chain lightning between enemies. However, this weapon is likely not to return, as the submachine gun Risky from Destiny 2 essentially already has the same effect.
Monte Carlo: This auto rifle is currently the only weapon that is considered a guaranteed return in the context of Shadowkeep. Keen fans spotted the weapon in the shown material for the upcoming autumn expansion.
Fabian Strategy: An exclusive Titan exotic and at the time one of the worst exotic weapons in the game.
The First Curse: A solid exotic hand cannon, of which Destiny 2 probably has enough by now.
Hawkmoon: There have already been various rumors about a potential return of this popular hand cannon. A leak suggested that Hawkmoon might return in Season 7, but no sign of the weapon is available yet.
Red Death: This popular pulse rifle is unlikely to return, as in a modified form this weapon already exists – in the form of the exotic hand cannon Crimson.
No Time to Explain: A cool pulse rifle with an intriguing quest and lore. However, it never really belonged to the major fan favorites. However, the weapon was apparently spotted in the material for Shadowkeep, so it could return.
Tlaloc: A scout rifle exclusive to the Warlock class, which was popular with many players.
Boolean Twin: A scout rifle that not many will really remember. This firearm was not particularly popular. Therefore, a return is probably not very likely.
Touch of Malice: This unique scout rifle is one of the greatest highlights and most popular exotic weapons of Destiny 1. Many fans have been calling for a return of this weapon ever since. Now some fans hope that with the return of Eris Morn in Shadowkeep, this wish might finally come true.
No Land Beyond: A niche weapon that is very popular among good snipers (the only one for the primary slot), with which one delivered duels for the most spectacular kills. Devrim Kay, the NPC in the EDZ, already uses this weapon in Destiny 2.
Universal Remote: This shotgun (the only one in the primary slot) was once considered a good choice for the primary slot, until it eventually vanished without a trace after some changes.
Exotic versions of raid weapons: In addition, there were some more exotic weapons in the primary slot, which were simply exotic versions of numerous legendary raid weapons like Vision of Confluence, Fatebringer, or Crota’s End. Thus, we will not list them explicitly here.
