Today, on Wednesday, October 2, the Fortnite servers will be shut down on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS, Android). A new update will be applied. How long will the maintenance take and what does the patch bring? MeinMMO has the answers!
What is happening today in Fortnite? As in every week, there will be a new update for Fortnite. Epic Games announced the update on Twitter, but they gave no hints about what we can expect.
Before players can set out on a discovery tour, the servers will be shut down as they are nearly every week.
Fortnite servers will be shut down – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: At 9:30 AM German time, you can join a new lobby for the last time. At 10 AM, the servers will no longer be accessible and Fortnite will be down.
How long will the maintenance take? Based on the experiences of the last weeks and months, the work should be completed around noon.
Technical problems or other delays could prolong the maintenance. If that happens, you will of course find out here.
When will the patch notes be available? The patch notes will only be available after the downtime today. Then you will find the German patch notes right here with us on MeinMMO.
What new content does update 10.41 bring?
What new features will there be in Battle Royale mode? Epic Games has given no hints about what we can expect from this update.
Changes to the map are conceivable, such as the rocket building that is continuously evolving. Players also hope for a countdown in the game that officially announces the live event. There will likely be a few bug fixes. Some players had issues starting the combine mode. This will probably be fixed in this patch.
What does the update bring for Save the World mode? PvE players have been complaining for some time about content drought in Save the World. Today’s update will likely change little about that. Only a new weapon and a new storyline can be hoped for by the players.
What do you think? What will today’s update bring?
Season 3 of Apex Legends begins today, October 1st for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Along with Season 3, a new map, a new legend, and additional features will be released.
When does Season 3 start? Season 3 of Apex Legends started on October 1st at 21:00 German time. You can jump in and play right away.
How big is the update? The patch for Season 3 varies in size across platforms:
Xbox One: about 10.35GB
PS4: About 7.75GB
PC: about 7GB
When does Season 3 end? While there is no specific date, previous seasons have typically lasted about three months. Thus, the next season would fall on January 1st, and it will likely either be slightly postponed due to the holidays or will use the new year to celebrate.

What changes with Season 3? Right in time for the launch of Season 3, EA released the patch notes on October 1st. Here are the highlights:
During the launch of Season 3, only World’s Edge will be playable. King’s Canyon is disabled until then.
The attachments “Skullpiercer” and “Disruptor Rounds” have been removed.
The attachments “Anvil Receiver” (Flatline/R-301) and “Double Tap Trigger” (G7/EVA-8) have been added.
Ultimate Accelerants are now 40% rarer but now grant 35% charging (previously 20%).
The golden backpack (Tier 4) now has the new perk “Guardian Angel”. If someone with “Guardian Angel” revives a teammate, they will receive more health and a bit of shield charge after the revival.
The golden armor (Level 4) now has the former effect of the backpack, allowing healing items to be used faster.
The “Executioner” perk of the armor is now passively unlocked for all legends. Everyone now receives full shields after a successful finisher.
In addition, there are several changes to heroes and weapons, new weapons in “gold” quality, bug fixes, and “Quality of Life” changes. You can find the full patch notes in English on the official website.
What does the new map offer? In an initial look at the new map, 15 different locations are visible that can serve as points of interest for players:
Skyhook: A metropolis in the northwest with many towers and a pylon-like structure in the center.
Drill Site: A vast, open area with some large yellow drills.
Lava Fissure: Several buildings on a small lava lake with many zip lines and a nameless pit nearby, reminiscent of “The Pit” from King’s Canyon.
The Train Yard: A siding with many metallic structures for climbing and hiding.
Thermal Station: A flat area, also quite open, surrounded by lava.
The Tree: Some lootable houses and a large leaf in the center.
Sorting Factory: One of the larger locations. You’ll find wide, semi-open areas and some buildings, likely suitable for medium-range shootouts.
The Dome: A pit in the southeast of the map, where several buildings are available for looting and filled with lava.
Lava City: A smaller cluster of houses.
Fuel Depot: More small houses with loot. Many smaller buildings.
The Geyser: A tropical-looking, almost idyllic place with small blue lakes and green terrain. Here you will find geysers that launch you into the air.
Overlook: Some buildings near a cliff.
Refinery: A smaller location. There are some crates you can climb on.
Capitol City: Similar to Skyhook, a large city with high-rise buildings and other structures. However, the city is somewhat damaged from the explosion in Epicenter.
The Epicenter: A huge machine that resembles a drilling platform or repulsor, surrounded by everything completely frozen.
The lava is one of the new features of the map and inflicts damage on players when they are in it. This opens up possibilities for more tactical gameplay.
Additionally, there seem to be keycards that open secret loot rooms containing plenty of high-tier loot. In the gameplay trailer, you can see some of the features of the map in more detail:

This new legend is coming: As already leaked beforehand and subsequently announced, the new legend Crypto will appear in Season 3. Crypto relies on his abilities for control and aggressive defense to punish offensive players:
Surveillance Drone (active): Crypto stays in place and sends out his drone to scout.
Neuralink (passive): Enemies within 30 meters of the drone are revealed.
Drone EMP (Ultimate): Crypto lets his drone emit an EMP (it must remain alive for this). The EMP deals 50 damage to shields and stuns targets in the area. Crypto can damage his own shield if hit, and the stun also affects him and his team.

Since the drone is quite capable, let’s break it down here separately. You control the drone and can continue to ping enemies and share information, but remain unprotected.
Every enemy within 30 meters is automatically highlighted for the team, and they are also notified. This is the passive ability. Doors or crates are also marked. The drone can even pick up allies’ banners but can only sustain a few hits.
If you do not actively control the drone, you can even set it down. It will stay where it is and continue to provide information about what is happening around it. You can call it back with the push of a button.
This new weapon is appearing: Also visible in the gameplay video is the new weapon, the Charge Rifle. The Charge Rifle is an energy weapon that works with a charge mechanic and fires.
You charge a shot briefly and then fire a strong energy beam forward that deals high damage and has no travel time. The Charge Rifle was already present in Titanfall 2 and was considered an “anti-titan weapon”.
The new weapon can be equipped with magazines, sights, and a stock. Unlike the L-STAR, it is a regular weapon and not a legendary one, which is why it can be found everywhere.
What does the Battle Pass of Season 3 contain?
What is up for grabs: With the start of Season 3, EA and Respawn also presented the new Battle Pass. This will feature new challenges with various rewards, such as:
XP boosts
Apex packs
1200 crafting materials
1000 Apex coins
new legendary items

The Battle Pass costs 950 Apex coins. The bundle with 25 levels costs 2800 Apex coins.
What skins are available? As seen beforehand, there will be several skins to earn, both for legends and weapons. Some skins are even available for purchase right away: The “Reckoner” Longbow as well as skins for Mirage, Octane, and Bloodhound.
Throughout the levels, there will be additional rewards:
Legendary skin “Iced Out” for Pathfinder (included in the bundle)
Legendary skin “From the Ashes” for Lifeline
Legendary, reactive skin “Frostbite” for the Peacekeeper
Destiny 2 premiered on Steam on October 1st. With the “Shadowkeep” expansion, Bungie went live on the PC platform today, and player numbers are exploding shortly after. The MMO shooter immediately entered the Top 3 of the Steam charts with the launch of the Free2Play version.
Currently, there are 214,100 players online at the same time (October 1st, 10:09 PM). This is only for Steam and does not include PS4 and Xbox One. The cumulative numbers across all platforms will be much higher
This means that only the long-standing games CS:GO and Dota 2 are ahead of Destiny 2 in the current player numbers on Steam
Many user reviews are coming in, which aggregate to a “mostly positive” for Destiny 2
Since 7 PM, the worlds are gradually opening up for players, but the launch is not without server issues, error codes like “Weasel” and “Beaver,” and a queue: “Destiny 2 is currently busy,” it says
Player Numbers and “Destiny is currently busy”
Destiny 2 is currently in 3rd place on Steam. After the game was able to reach first place in pre-orders in the past weeks, a strong start was expected. However, it could only be speculated how successful it would be.
Destiny 2 is in 3rd place on Steam and has just pushed PUBG to 4th place
JUST A MOMENT … And every day, the groundhog greets. This MMO launch is also not spared from queues and error codes. Destiny 2 is currently busy. In the background, there is a mysterious order. For now, patience is all that helps.
The shop page on Steam seems to be overloaded for most users, which is why even the purchase or download of Destiny 2 is not possible for some at this moment.
These should of course be taken with caution, even though Destiny 2 should no longer be a completely new game and one can find information about the advantages of the shooter in many places (especially here at MeinMMO!). It is still too early to evaluate the expansion itself.
This is how well Destiny 2 is received: So far, strong. Many speak of a new era. Destiny 2 is rated very positively on Steam and many veterans want to entice new players. Some have migrated from the Blizzard launcher and are happy to be on Steam now.
Whether the positive mood remains will be seen in the coming days and weeks. However, the negative reviews so far are almost exclusively about the current server problems.
The best free-to-play game of all time. Destiny 2 is a very well-optimized, beautiful game with tons of PVE and PVP content. I highly recommend this game.
Destiny 2 is one of the best first-person shooters released in this generation in terms of core gameplay. The gunplay, movement, abilities, environments, sound design, and everything else related to the current gameplay is incredibly well polished and very appealing. (…)
Fortunately, it finally feels like it is turning for the better. The separation from Activision and the departure of some controversial design leads have resulted in Bungie demonstrating a clear vision for the franchise for the first time. In their own words, they are making Destiny an action-MMO that takes place in a constantly evolving universe.
We at MeinMMO have been closely following Destiny since the release of the first part. If you want daily information about the game, follow our Destiny 2 topic page.

Since today, October 1, 2019, Early Access for Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available for owners of the Gold Edition or higher. The first reviews from players are piling up. Some of them are quite bad and one-sided – and annoy those who just want to play.
How is Ghost Recon Breakpoint received? At the moment, many players are simply having fun with the new Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It launched today, October 1, at exactly 00:00 in Early Access and anyone who has purchased at least the Gold Edition can already play.
However, the general tenor is quite divided. On one hand, players who just want to play are having fun. In Twitch chats and also on reddit, they often express that they simply enjoy playing. Metacritic users have even rated the game 7.9 (PS4, 22 votes) and 8.9 (Xbox, 9 votes).
On the other hand, however, there are also some critics who complain about various aspects of the game. This criticism is currently threatening to flood social channels like reddit and annoy those who are having fun significantly.
Especially the last point angers many people. There are highly rated posts on reddit where players report on the shop, and others mock that it is the main thing that the real-money shop works well. Everything else is secondary.
This is how fans react: Those who are having fun want nothing to do with such criticism and the sheer number of new posts. They accuse the critics of purposely looking for problems to rant about the game in the “Ghost Recon” subreddit.
A highly rated post with nearly 700 upvotes addresses the toxic environment. The user davidpiksi urges the critics to keep their criticism constructive and not just bash the game.

In his thread, many people agree. Breakpoint may not be a perfect game, but it provides enough fun to keep them engaged. Especially compared to the beta, several things have improved, such as:
This has happened before: Breakpoint is not the first game to have such a situation. Similar to or even stronger criticism has been directed at Anthem or Fallout 76.
Many people suspect that influencers like Skill Up are influencing opinion in the community with their negative reviews of Breakpoint, which is why many players may not want to like Breakpoint from the start. The same accusations were directed at Skill Up regarding Fallout 76.
For Fallout 76, it took a long time for the community to sort out the “haters” and the players who really like the game. Breakpoint may have better chances here, as players are already engaging as mediators and the criticism isn’t as loud.
Destiny 2 plagues players with some issues at the release of Shadowkeep. A rare problem causes new players to have to delete their character at the start.
Who is affected by the character deletion? Only Guardians who have recently started with Destiny 2 yesterday, on the 30th of October, shortly before the reset and downtime are affected.
If these players start Destiny 2 today, their character may find itself at Power Level 0. New and returning Guardians should actually be automatically boosted to Power Level 750, so they can dive into new adventures together.
What can be done about it? Apparently, it is not possible to correct this error. Bungie communicated the following: Affected players will have to delete the corresponding character.
Since it was a very small time window, hopefully not too many people are affected by the problem.
Other known issues
There are more known issues that Bungie is diligently working on. However, none of them have such serious effects:
The Lunafaction Boots of the Warlock incorrectly still have their old description. They do not automatically reload your weapon despite in-game text, but merely increase the reload speed.
Do not dismantle any quest steps from Eris, otherwise you may have to wait a week to resume the quest. It is best to complete all bounties and quest steps normally and ensure you have enough inventory space.
During the Nightfall, a warning is displayed to the host if they do not have certain mods equipped. This does not apply to other fireteam members or their loadouts.
Some scannable objects on the Moon are not being counted correctly for Triumphs.
The Guardians are eagerly waiting to reunite with Eris Morn
Do not abandon the Nessus questline, you currently cannot regain it.
The trophy/achievement “Show me what you have” cannot be obtained by veterans, that is, returning players, if you already have 3 characters. Furthermore, veterans cannot start the EDZ quest “Enhanced!”
Redrix’s Claymore: Only daily Crucible bounties provide progress for the quest step “The Constant”.
The strike playlist gives progress for different Exo quests as planned; direct selection from orbit does not currently count for this.
There is an issue with inspecting your Crucible engrams in the preview. It incorrectly states that you need to own Forsaken. That is not the case.
We hope you have a good and as smooth start into Shadowkeep and are not plagued by issues. Please write in the comments if complications arise.
For Destiny 2, today, October 1, 2019, is a very special day. Not only is the Weekly Reset happening today – also the highly anticipated Shadowkeep expansion and the Free-to-Play version Destiny 2: New Light are launching. The third year begins.
Many have been waiting for this: After a massive maintenance and possibly some time in the queue, it is finally here. The Destiny servers are back online. If Update 2.6.0.1 is installed, you can now dive into the new content of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep or try out Destiny 2: New Light, the new Free-to-Play version of the game.
What makes today so special? Today marks a new era for Destiny. With Shadowkeep, Bungie is launching its first creation after the split from Activision. This is expected to be a milestone for the further development of the MMO shooter and is eagerly watched by numerous fans and critics.
There are numerous changes, such as the new armor system Armor 2.0, which aims to bring more RPG elements and depth to the game, or New Light, a free version of Destiny 2 designed to make the universe accessible for many new guardians.
Bungie is consistently working on its own vision of Destiny, and the dawn of Year 3 marks the beginning of what we hope will be a long journey.
The Weekly Reset without Weekly Reset
What about the usual reset? Today, the usual Weekly Reset also takes place. But for the usual information on sources for powerful loot and the weekly activities, you will have to wait another week.
Why? As mentioned at the beginning, a lot will change in Destiny 2 today. We take this as an opportunity to study these changes closely and to calmly adapt our existing format to deliver you the best possible result. And that goes for all guardians – whether you are playing Shadowkeep or exploring New Light.
Next week, you will again have the most important information available – whether in a similar, moderately adapted or completely new form. We hope you understand. After all, we’re doing this for you.
Have fun in the new era: However, we also want to use this article to celebrate and welcome the third year of Destiny 2 together with you.
For many, today marks a great homecoming on the Moon, others are taking their first steps as guardians today, and still others may intend to dust off their old armor. But one thing connects us all: We all want to have as much fun as possible together this evening.
With that in mind, we at MeinMMO wish you all – whether “New Lights” or seasoned guardians – much enjoyment in the new era of Destiny 2. Take care of each other, help the newcomers, and don’t forget that you also started small. As the motto of my clan puts it so beautifully: Together we shine brighter. See you starside, guardians!
Check out our Shadowkeep stream: If you can’t play today but don’t want to miss the launch of Shadowkeep, you can tune into our stream. Nexxoss Gaming will take you along and go through the first steps in the new expansion with you.
After extensive maintenance, the servers for Destiny 2 are finally back online. All information regarding the important times, the update preload on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, as well as the patch notes for update 2.6.0.1 can be found here.
Update: On October 1st at precisely 7:00 PM, the Destiny servers came back online. If you have installed update 2.6.0.1, you can now dive into the new content.
Note: However, it may happen that you initially land in a queue and must wait a little longer. Have fun and good loot, Guardians!
The important times for maintenance: Before the Shadowkeep expansion of Destiny 2 begins on October 1st, extensive maintenance will take place. Bungie has already announced this in advance. Maintenance started on September 30th:
At 6:45 PM the servers went down. By the way, not just for Destiny 2, but also for Destiny 1. Since then, you cannot log in. At that time, year 2 of Destiny 2 ended.
Only today, on October 1st, will the servers come back online. Scheduled for 7 PM. The server downtime amounts to well over 24 hours. At that time, update 2.6.0.1 is expected to be made available worldwide on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The maintenance will continue in the background until 9 PM on October 1st. Until then, there may still be increased login issues and server disruptions.
Keep in mind that the above time estimates are not set in stone. If difficulties arise, Bungie may extend the maintenance. A “soft launch” is less likely, however.
Steam migration and Shadowkeep launch are coming
Why is the maintenance taking so long? During the maintenance for Destiny 2, several things are happening:
Destiny 2 is migrating from Battle.net to Steam on PC
The Shadowkeep launch is being prepared. The fall expansion will start as soon as the servers come back online
What you need to do now: If you have not yet linked your Steam and Battle.net accounts, now is the time. If you want to continue your Guardian journey on PC, you need to initiate the Steam migration on the Bungie site. If you miss it, all your progress made on Battle.net will be lost. All information here:
And what is changing in Destiny 2? On October 1st at 7 PM, several changes will take place in the game. Thanks to “New Light”, many new Guardians will be exploring the game, and you will patiently teach them things like heroic public events.
With Shadowkeep, several new activities will be introduced, like a campaign on the moon, a new raid, new strikes, a new nightfall system, and fresh PvP content. Additionally, there will be new and exciting loot to chase. With an artifact, you can also achieve unlimited power. You can find the most important innovations of Shadowkeep and Season 8 here.
In addition to the new content, Bungie is also working on some of the old content. The most significant change is the Armor 2.0 system, which gives you more freedom in how you want to build and customize your Guardian. Additionally, many other areas of the game will be improved, and we will present some particularly cool changes here:
When does the preload of the big Shadowkeep update start?
Information about the preload: The big update 2.6.0 that you need for Shadowkeep can be downloaded on PS4 and Xbox One during this maintenance:
According to Bungie, update 2.6.0 will be made available during the 24-hour downtime for PS4 and Xbox One. They do not provide a specific time. However, they will announce on Twitter as soon as the preload is possible.
All PC players can download Destiny 2 now via Steam. This preload includes New Light and Shadowkeep. Since New Light is free for everyone, no advance purchase is required for this preload.
What is the download size of update 2.6.0? We discuss the expected download size of Shadowkeep here. The required storage space has been specified as around 165 GB, but the download sizes on Steam are currently significantly smaller at around 80 GB.
Patch Notes for Destiny 2 Update 2.6.0.1
Moreover, the official patch notes for update 2.6.0.1 are now available – however, so far only in English. Until the patch notes are available in German, we have included the original English changelog for you:
Some players have already been able to catch a preview of the new Season 3 of Apex Legends. What was seen there could have a significant impact on the meta established in Season 2: Particularly the new map and the legend Crypto.
What changes could come? With Season 3 of Apex Legends comes both the new map World’s Edge and the new legend Crypto. Both have mechanics that can strongly counter current meta teams.
What does the map look like?World’s Edge is a new map with several biomes, where green spaces, icy areas, cities, and lava lakes merge. There are several areas with wide spaces but also cities with narrow street gorges and buildings.
This impact could World’s Edge have: The new map has four mechanics that can strongly affect gameplay and players’ tactical decisions:
Lava in the southern part of the map that deals damage over time when touched.
Geysers that serve as jump platforms and launch players into the air.
A train that moves across the map.
A loot room that apparently contains high-quality loot.
These are the impacts on “Early Game”: The lava will likely have the least impact, but at the start of a round, it could be crucial for some fights. Since players can be pushed back significantly by close-quarter attacks, attackers could inflict more damage by shoving opponents into the lava.
Traps from Octane or Wattson can also provide advantages here if the legends trap their enemies between the trap and lava. This opens opportunities for characters with more area control or for Pathfinder with his grapple.
These are the impacts on “Mid Game”: The geysers are useful throughout the game and help every player who is good at moving quickly. They provide a boost even for slower legends like Gibraltar, allowing them to move faster to ambush a team.
In addition, there is a train that is apparently in constant motion. Anyone caught by it is likely to die instantly, so teams must always keep an eye open when fighting on the tracks. Other teams could deliberately lure them into a trap there.
Always look left and right.
Loot Room could tilt games
These are the impacts on “End Game”: However, the probably most important change is the loot room. This has only been briefly shown in the gameplay trailer. Crypto shoots a drone that drops a crate with a keycard.
This card apparently opens a secret room where epic and legendary loot is plentiful. This could become a true “game changer” for both heavily outmatched teams and those needing a comeback.
The “Loot Cave” from the video.
Teams that have had bad luck with loot throughout the round and have never encountered opponents can gear up here and potentially score big at the end. Those who are already doing well might find the last item they need for victory here.
The new legend Crypto
What can Crypto do? Crypto’s abilities all revolve around his drone. The drone is his active ability and it functions as the basis for his ultimate ability EMP and his passive ability.
The drone can be freely controlled, passively reveals enemies and items, can mark them, and even collect banners from fallen allies. It can also be placed down to serve as a passive lookout.
This is how Crypto could change the meta: While Crypto himself is stationary and needs protection, his drone is extremely mobile. Thus, he could reveal previously fortified positions of popular meta teams without himself being in real danger.
Additionally, the EMP apparently originates from his drone. So once he reveals a position, he can fly his drone in, trigger the EMP, and destroy all traps, damage shields, and stun opponents to prepare for an assault.
Since the currently strongest combos aim to anchor in good positions and only reposition when necessary, Crypto could cause significant upheaval here.
The weapon changes
What will change? Both the attachments “Skullpiercer” and “Disruptor Rounds” (new with Season 2) will disappear. This will significantly weaken some of the most popular weapons (Alternator, Longbow, Wingman).
While the Longbow and Wingman will do more headshot damage on their own, the effects remain to be seen. In contrast, two new attachments are coming: Double Tap (G7/EVA-8) for two shots in quick succession and Anvil Receiver (R-301/Flatline) for stronger attacks in single-shot mode.
With these changes, some of the most popular combinations from Season 2 are nerfed or even entirely removed. The changes in general make it seem like fights will shift to medium range rather than taking place at close or very long ranges.
What do you think of the changes? Do you believe the meta will change significantly?
Shortly before the release of Destiny 2 Shadowkeep, a fact became known: The franchise has been hugely successful in sales in the USA since 2014. The extent of the success surprised some players on reddit, who didn’t realize how big this Destiny actually is.
This is the fact that astonished players: Mat Piscatella is an analyst for the market research group “The NPD Group.” They closely track how games perform in retail sales in the USA. They analyze the sales figures.
Destiny has been the number 2 of the first-person shooter franchises in sales in US dollars since its release in September 2014. Only Call of Duty is stronger.
If you look beyond just first-person shooters, Destiny is number 7 during this period of the last 5 years in sales of game series tracked by the NPD Group – that is, in the USA.
In the large subreddit, strong single-player titles like Skyrim or Fallout: New Vegas are traditionally revered.
The comments that receive the most approval there are astonished:
“Damn, I knew Destiny had fans, but number 2? Wow.”
“Shit, I didn’t think Bungie would surpass Halo in a million years when they left Microsoft.”
One who presumably actively plays Destiny 2 says:
“Destiny is like Diablo 3 – it was bad at launch, but the first expansion really polished the game.”
Not everyone is aware of Destiny’s success
This is what’s behind it: For us at MeinMMO and the readers here, it’s a bit strange to observe such reactions. We have been reporting on Destiny for 5 years. The game series has always had a prominent position on our site.
But in the “gaming mainstream,” many such “MMO-like” games like Destiny are viewed critically. It is believed that the games repeat themselves too often and do not offer enough content.
The perspective of “non-Destiny players” is often very different from that of fans.
Especially since Destiny has been negatively portrayed in the press many times due to drought phases, a weird story, and various problems.
Destiny fans have often taken to the barricades in the last 5 years and voiced their anger loudly. From the outside, one might get the impression that the franchise is not doing very well.
A news item about this long-term success of Destiny is already a rarity.
There are also explanations for the success found on reddit:
On the one hand, the game simply appeals to many target groups – PvP fans of Halo, RPG players, people who like dungeons in MMO style, and also casual players, who just enjoy shooting aliens in the face.
On the other hand, you can criticize many things about Destiny, but it did release a new game or expansion every September, which helps with the sales of the brand.
The MMORPG Neverwinter is releasing a new expansion for consoles. It appeals to both veterans and newcomers. The game and the expansion are both free.
What is Uprising? The seventeenth, free expansion Uprising was released on August 13 for PC. Today, on October 1, it has been released for the consoles PS4 and Xbox One.
Uprising brings some new features for you, including:
New playable maps
The playable race Gith, which is only available to VIP players in the first two weeks
A new endgame raid for 10 players
A revamped tutorial and adjusted starting zones for newcomers
The overhaul of the appearance system
New features in PvP

What is Neverwinter? Neverwinter is a Free2Play MMORPG based on the fantasy role-playing game “Dungeons & Dragons”. It was released on April 30, 2013, and has since built a fanbase.
Neverwinter regularly receives new and free expansions. These bring new stories and areas, but also completely new features, such as the raid and the new playable race in Uprising.
How is the mood in the MMORPG currently? The previous update 16 titled Undermountain brought many changes that made the game more modern, but some players felt it made it too easy. These changes also focused on newcomers.
That’s why many referred to Uprising as Mod 16.5, because it is not a large, standalone campaign, but simply adds many supplements to the previous update.
However, the update 17, which has now been released for consoles, is said to be significantly better according to a reddit post by Adinos from August. He particularly highlights the new appearance system, which has saved him a lot of inventory space. The new raid is also said to be challenging.
Negatively, he and other commentators see the small changes in crafting and the overall lack of content. From these players’ perspective, the update is too small.
Our author Andreas Bertits took a closer look at the MMORPG at the beginning of the year and conducted a small test:
New PS4 games are coming to the PS Store this week. Here we showcase two highlights that you can play on PlayStation 4.
The new releases in the PS Store: Weekly, Sony introduces several new games that will soon be available in the PlayStation Store. This week, the two highlights are the tactical shooters Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and Destiny 2: Shadowkeep.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
What is Ghost Recon Breakpoint? Breakpoint is the direct successor to Ghost Recon Wildlands. You can play solo or with up to four players in co-op mode. The setting is the island of Auroa, where your enemies are the mysterious Wolves and powerful drone technology.
The Wolves are former Ghosts hunting you down, assisted by the nasty drones. Show that you are the true elite fighters and overcome them. Defeat the Wolves and their leader Colonel Cole D to win.
New in this installment of the Ghost Recon series are more realistic survival elements. If you are heavily injured, you will limp. You must recover from long sprints. In the class system, you choose between stealthy Panthers, Assault Soldiers, or Snipers.
After the campaign, raids, events, and player expansions follow. If you’re not interested in PvE, you can also have fun in the 4v4 mode Ghost War. There are exciting PvP battles.

For whom is Ghost Recon: Breakpoint suitable? Anyone who enjoys tactical shooters with story and strategy should take a closer look at Breakpoint. Especially if you love experiencing adventures together with friends, this shooter from Ubisoft is for you. Because as a team, the island trip is much more fun.
What is Destiny 2: Shadowkeep? Under the title Shadowkeep, developer Bungie brings its second major expansion for the shooter Destiny 2. The German title of the addon is Fortress of Shadows. You do not need any previous expansions of Destiny 2 to play Shadowkeep.
In this expansion, Eris Morn returns. She unleashed a power that has long been dormant beneath the surface of the moon. She cannot control it herself.
The Guardians’ task is to return to the moon and help Eris eliminate the lurking nightmares there. They must succeed before the evil forces leave the moon and plunge humanity into an age of darkness.
The moon zone is said to be twice the size of that in Destiny 1. You will find the raid that the expansion brings at the Black Garden. New weapons and armors with an astronaut theme are also part of the expansion. Once you reach the endgame, amongst other things, you will be faced with a new activity called “Nightmare Hunt,” designed for up to 3 players with different difficulty levels.

For whom is Destiny 2: Shadowkeep suitable? This expansion is especially worthwhile for fans who have eagerly awaited new content for Destiny. The addon also brings nostalgia into play. If you enjoyed being on the moon in Destiny 1, you can now go back and explore what’s new.
Now you just need to get the games and get started. Since both games can be played together with friends, you should also make sure about the naming of the controller buttons:
Epic Games had planned the mechs in Fortnite. The robots were part of the story and were supposed to serve a purpose. However, the community was not at all excited about this plan.
What were the mechs supposed to do in the game? Epic Games had had a plan for the mechs from the beginning. They were supposed to be part of the story, which is usually told in the background. But it quickly became clear that they were too powerful.
If you now go to the big computer in Dusty Depot, you can see a virus on the screen that was implanted in the robots. This virus triggers the explosion. The virus was probably activated by the scientist.
Community wants the mechs out of the game, Epic remains stubborn
Why doesn’t the community want the mechs? Shortly after the mechs were introduced in the game, players noticed that these robots were way too strong. Many complained and urged Epic Games to remove the mechs from the game. Even the hashtag #RemoveTheMechs trended on Twitter.
Epic tried to accommodate the community and nerfed the mechs. But players were not satisfied with that at all. Throughout the entire season, players found new bugs caused by the mech. The players didn’t want a nerf anymore; the mechs should disappear from the game!
Why didn’t Epic remove the mechs? Now it’s clear why Epic Games never completely removed the mechs from the game. The robots were part of the story. They had actually thought of a cool story for the mechs, but they did not anticipate the community’s reaction.
They tried to find a middle ground, but this did not resonate well with the players. Now the mechs are finally “out of the game” and the story could be told.
What do you think? Did you notice that the mechs were part of the story?
The punk rock band Blink-182 and Fortnite streamer Ninja are surely no longer friends. At a concert at TwitchCon, the musicians made negative comments about Mixer, which the streamer probably took personally.
This is about these musicians: The band Blink-182 has been one of the most successful punk rock bands in the world for years and became known in Germany with songs like “All the Small Things” and “First Date.”
Recently, they performed at TwitchCon, the expo of the streaming giant Twitch. During the concert, lead singer Mark Hoppus said, “I just want to take a short moment and say fuck Mixer,” which was met with much applause.

The streamer even goes a step further and considers it a personal attack on himself. “Unintentionally, they are basically saying fuck Ninja. […] There is really no other reason for them to talk about Mixer.”
There were even clips, that mocked Ninja’s departure. Now that Ninja is the face of Mixer, he takes many attacks against the platform personally. After all, many people know this streaming service only because of Ninja.
Two other Fortnite players were recently called out by their boss. They simply left too much mess behind:
One player has completely dedicated himself to role-playing and interacting with other players in Fallout 76. However, from his role as a doctor soon became a whole corporation with proper planning.
They then practice more or less proper professions in Appalachia, such as a whole police station or in this case a doctor with staff. The original creator is the player Brent “CJ Martin” Fairchild.
CJ Martin, as his character is called in Fallout 76, offers his “patients” several services, even distributes quests, and has his own employees who work for him and whom he pays. Just like a real NPC, although the latter come with Wastelanders.
What does a doctor do in the nuclear wasteland?
This is what CJ Martin offers: The list of services that players can receive from CJ Martin is clear but significant. Players can for example:
CJ Martin is always in his lab coat or other medical clothing in his camp helping. He often sets up his camp right next to impact sites of nuclear warheads to support players battling the Queen of the Burnt Beasts there.
The Doc next to an impact site. Image source: Polygon.
This is how he runs his business: The “Doc” claims to sell over 20,000 units of stimpaks, chems, and other goods per week (via Polygon). He can only manage this by hiring other players.
They then provide him with tick blood for stimpaks or other items, unless players donate them to him. Donations and investments from other players also occur.
To provide for his employees, CJ Martin has hired a cook who takes care of food and drink. His employees are even paid for their work. They receive wages, holiday pay, and various bonuses for their work.
All of this is almost like a real company that he has built within the game. It is managed via Google Docs and various apps.
The “Doc” even gives out quests and is a “Companion”
What tasks can one complete for him? Those who do not work for the Doc can still complete tasks for him. He likes to give players quests, which are mostly escort quests. He also offers himself as a companion for adventures.
Experiments are also conducted.
For the quests, he deliberately overloads himself so that he is slower, and players are to bring him back to his camp while protecting him along the way. He cannot fight himself, but supplies his bodyguards with chems and food.
The player knows Appalachia well, as he grew up there. Accordingly, he likes to take detours on the way home or wander through areas with particularly tough enemies. The harder and longer the route, the higher the reward at the end.
The community and their “Doc”
This is how the role is received: Players are enthusiastic about the Doc. Many players know him, and according to Polygon, his server and camp fill up as soon as he logs in. He even enjoys protection from all factions that players embody.
The various raider factions (also players) that terrorize Appalachia sometimes fail in the process see the Doc as a kind of neutral party. He provides them with drugs at a low cost – so they make sure nothing happens to him.
Satisfied patients.
There was even once a bounty placed on the Doc. However, the person who wanted to place it was deliberately ignored by all bounty hunters. No one wanted to take the job, despite the immense reward.
This is how players and the Doc relate to each other: CJ Martin himself says that in Fallout 76, it is primarily about community and cooperation. That is why he offers his help without even asking for payment.
This solidarity also comes back. As he recounts, once his game CD broke. By the next morning, his Facebook and PS4 messages were filled with PSN gift cards so that he could continue playing.

A new trailer for Battlefield 5 shows that an absolute fan favorite is returning to the game: The map Operation Metro makes a comeback in a new edition.
What does Battlefield 5 show? The shooter will feature a new map, which many players of the Battlefield series will likely find familiar. It’s called Operation Underground and strongly resembles the cult map Operation Metro from Battlefield 3.
Fans are celebrating, as many of them have spent unforgettable hours here, and now the map is returning in the style of World War-themed gameplay.

This is the map: While Operation Metro in Battlefield 3 was set in the Parisian underground, the journey now takes us to Germany. This is clearly indicated by the German signs hanging on the walls.
The setting is also tied to the World War scenario, with details everywhere recalling the Third Reich.
The map is tight and has many points where you will encounter enemies directly. You can even dive for a moment to surprise enemies from behind.
Why the map is so popular: While in Battlefield one often engages in prolonged battles and can dominate with vehicles, Operation Metro has made a clear cut here. It revolves around many and close-range confrontations, a lot of action, and no significant strategy. This made the map so popular that it was also playable in Battlefield 4.
The map is returning and promises at least from the trailer a similarly high level of action.
How do players react? The fans of Battlefield 5 are ecstatic. The trailer is being received positively, and the fans have reason to be happy.
Borderlands 3 released a balancing hotfix last weekend. It buffs the allegedly weak Zane, but most of all it nerfs FL4K and Amara. The gunner Moze has been spared.
This is what the hotfix does: Borderlands 3 introduced a hotfix on September 27. This should balance out some strengths and weaknesses. For Agent Zane, the clone and drone were buffed.
The Beastmaster FL4K, on the other hand, had to endure a significant setback. His most effective action skill has been reduced in duration and intensity. Also, Siren Amara has not escaped unscathed. She heals less and can no longer reduce her enemies’ damage as much.
All four vault hunters of Borderlands 3
However, it seems that one character has been forgotten by the hotfix, the gunner Moze. She has a very powerful build that could overshadow the other characters in the endgame now.
Moze with 1-HP build to One-Hit-Queen
This is what the gunner can do: Moze is a soldier who comes with a lot of firepower and a teddy mech. Her skill trees can improve her shield and damage. Additionally, they can enhance her ammo regeneration, area damage, or her action skill.
This is about the solo build: If you focus on her talent trees Demolition Woman and Revenge Shield, you can kill many enemies with one shot (One-Hit). For this, you best need an artifact that reduces your health to 1 health point (HP) – that’s right. Additionally, this item doubles your shield.
Focus on the shot
With the right skills you deal more damage with Moze the less health you have. 1 HP is very little health, so it packs quite a punch. With your huge shield, which you further improve through your skill tree, you are almost immortal.
Mixed feelings in the community
This is what the fans demand: For most, Moze is not a problem with the hotfix. Many discussions still revolve around the agent. The supposedly too weak Zane for the endgame has been buffed. Fans are happy about this, but it seems that the hotfix does not have the desired effect:
It’s great that Zane has been buffed. Unfortunately, it has completely missed the core of the issue. Better than nothing, I don’t want to complain.
With Amara, there are hardly any complaints. However, FL4K fans are not really excited. Some are appalled that FL4K’s best build is no longer playable. Others demand buffs for FL4K’s two other skill trees:
I would like a possible pet build, to be honest. Especially the +100% bonus on the pet feels like wasting 5 skill points.
This is how it is with Moze: So it seems that no one really cares that Moze was not nerfed – on the contrary. Players even wish for a buff, though not for her, but for her mech.
The gunner is a strong character with a powerful endgame build. However, this is equipment-dependent if one wants to utilize it optimally. It takes effort to farm all items, and that should be rewarded – with one-hits.
If you feel like farming some bosses now, here are tips for legendary loot:
The new Patch 9.19 for Teamfight Tactics has been out for almost a week now. It has noticeably changed the meta – strongly in favor of a combo of Shapeshifters and Wilds.
Which combo is currently the strongest? The currently strongest combo from Patch 9.19 was originally developed as a counter to the Yordle champions. It relies on 4 Wilds, so opponents cannot evade your attacks.
The combo is supplemented by Assassins for damage, Shapeshifters, and 2 Hextechs. As champions, you need:
What makes the combo so strong? This now quite popular combo has several significant advantages:
It is very cheap (mainly 1- and 2-gold units)
It is easy to obtain and you don’t have to rebuild your team – you can keep the starting champions
You are not necessarily dependent on items, as in other combos.
The bonus of the 3 Shapeshifters has been spared from the nerf of the new patch.
Hextechs can disable game-changing items for your opponents.
They are currently hard to counter. Only 6 Knights and 4 Imperials can beat them, but this combo is hard to get and will beat everything else on the battlefield anyway.
Wild and Assassin – Rengar
This is how you play the currently strongest combo
How does the early game go? The combo is so simply structured that you can’t go wrong at the start of the game. In the first carousel, you should try to get one of the following four items:
Giant’s Sword
Combat Gloves
Spatula
Chain Vest
In the following rounds, you simply collect the champions you need for the combo and bring them onto the field. Until you find Gnar, Ahri can take the position of the fourth Wild.
Vi usually enters the field as the eighth and last champion, but can be collected beforehand.
Which champions should I bring to level 3? In this specific combo, it should be possible to get at least two or even more champions to level 3. The most useful are:
Pyke
Rengar
Zed (if you get him to level 3, otherwise switch to Akali)
Vi
Pyke – Extremely strong with the Frozen Heart as an item
Which items are important for the combo? The combo of Wilds, Assassins, and Shapeshifters is very variable in items. However, extremely useful are:
Pyke with 2x Frozen Heart and Morellonomicon
Rengar with Bloodthirster and Guardian Angel
Gnar with Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Dragon Claw, and Warmog’s Armor
Additionally, you can also give Akali/Zed damage items like Infinity Edge.
How do I position the combo correctly? Assassins thrive on being able to jump on opponents. They should therefore move away from the edge. Accordingly, you should place all champions as far down as possible.
Will I always be first with the combo? Based on experience, you land in the top 4 very consistently with Wilds, Assassins, and Shapeshifters, usually top 2.
But victories are also possible with the combo.
What alternative combos are currently available? Shortly after the release of Patch 9.19, we introduced you to seven very strong combos. We have adjusted this list, and it is still current.
If you are not enjoying the current meta of TFT, you can check out this list of five games we recommend for October:
In Pokémon GO players can no longer submit PokéStops for a few days now, but what seemed to be a small problem turned out to be quite significant.
What is going on with the submissions? Five days ago, on September 26, Niantic tweeted that they had to disable PokéStop submissions. So no new Stops can be submitted anymore.
Some players believed that this was just a short-term issue, but so far there have been no updates and the feature is still down.
What is behind the removal of the feature
Why is the function down? Niantic explained in their tweet that there is a problem with the photo function. This is, of course, necessary when one wants to submit a Stop. Because of this, they temporarily shut down the function.

Now, however, various trainers are waiting for news regarding the issue. For 5 days there have been no updates, and the function remains lost.
There are generally problems: It is possible that the photo function is not the only issue Niantic needs to fix. Many trainers report that their submissions are not being processed at all.
For some trainers, submitting Stops does not really work.
A trainer from Argentina even reports on Reddit that none of their submissions have gone through for 7 months. Their city has not received a new PokéStop, even though there are many places that meet the guidelines for a Stop.
But frustration is also great in Germany. In our Facebook group, players repeatedly report that they have had no success with their submissions. Other trainers, however, have no problems with it.
When will the function be reactivated? Currently, there is absolutely no information on this. As soon as there are updates on the topic, you will find out about it here on MeinMMO.
Niantic is also currently dealing with other issues. There have reportedly been various account suspensions that were unjustified:
Destiny 2 will today be Free-to-Play – specifically in the form of New Light. And for those who, as shooter fans, have overlooked the full-price title or haven’t even been aware of it, there are some good reasons to check out the free version.
What is Destiny 2: New Light? New Light is the official name for the Free-to-Play version of Destiny 2.
It launches today, on October 1st, simultaneously with the Shadowkeep expansion – the planned time is 7:00 PM German time. However, due to extensive maintenance work, there may be a delay.
What is Destiny 2? Destiny 2 is a multiplayer online shooter with MMO elements from Bungie. It is played from the first-person perspective. The game launched on September 6, 2017, on PS4 and Xbox One and was released on October 24, 2017, for PC. Now the base game along with many additional contents is going Free-to-Play.
In Destiny 2, you take on the role of a Guardian. Roughly speaking, it’s about protecting the remnants of humanity from various dangers posed by hostile alien races, looting new weapons and gear, and making your character increasingly powerful.
The adventures take Guardians in Destiny 2 to different planets, grant them new powerful abilities, and offer plenty of loot to collect.
That’s why every shooter fan should try Destiny 2: New Light
If you are a shooter fan but haven’t played Destiny 2 yet or have set it aside for a while? Then you should definitely (re)consider checking out Destiny 2: New Light with its release. Because for anyone who has even a slight interest in first-person shooters, it could be worth a look. And we’ll tell you why.
Excellent gunplay that is second to none
The Destiny series is particularly known for its unique gunplay. Especially on consoles, the feeling of using weapons is still unmatched to this day, but it doesn’t hide on PC either.
The combination of various weapons, target optics, sounds, vibrations, and visual effects, along with animations, creates a truly unique gameplay feel and hit feedback.
You can literally feel how you hit the enemy when you secure a kill with a critical hit, how the recoil behaves, or how cumbersome a weapon can feel compared to another.
For those who value gunplay in shooters, Destiny 2: New Light is certainly a good choice.
Destiny 2: New Light is completely free – you can’t go wrong
The cool thing about Destiny 2: New Light is that you can just try it out. Because New Light is completely free of charge. You won’t have to pay anything for the start, nor will there be any hidden costs awaiting you. If you don’t like the experience, you can simply put the game aside. You really can’t go wrong with it.
You’ll only incur costs if you resort to microtransactions or purchase additional game content. The microtransactions are, by the way, optional and purely cosmetic. They are the same for both the free New Light version and the full game.
Destiny 2: New Light offers gigantic scope – plenty to do for everyone
For a free-to-play game, Destiny 2: New Light offers an enormous amount of content. The scope is truly gigantic and easily provides 100 hours or more until you have really seen, played, and thoroughly tried everything if you’ve never had anything to do with Destiny 2 before.
There’s truly something for everyone: From story missions and open-world exploration to strikes (mini-dungeons) and raids, the most challenging group content offers PvE players a lot of exciting content.
PvP enthusiasts can let loose in various modes and on numerous maps of the Crucible – the PvP area of Destiny 2. There are no restrictions – you have exactly the same PvP content available as in the “full” game.
If you’re into a mix of PvE and PvP, you can try the Gambit mode, where you face off against AI in teams, but also face Guardian duels.
Keep in mind that numerous players spent over 100€ on the contents of New Light in the years 2017 and 2018. What is missing are, in principle, content from the major Forsaken expansion as well as from Shadowkeep. Moreover, there are no limits to your leveling. You can reach the same level as players in the full-price title.
Like New Light? You can jump in fully at any time
With New Light, you now have a great opportunity to get a really deep insight into the world of Destiny 2 – with all the important systems and core mechanics of the game completely for free. If Destiny 2: New Light convinces you and sparks your interest for more, you can expand your experience at any time.
You can purchase various optional contents such as individual seasons or expansions separately and truly play what interests you. You don’t have to own all available content to continue your journey in the Destiny universe.
You always keep your progress. So if you switch from Free-to-Play to Buy-to-Play, your options simply expand, and you can seamlessly continue your journey as a Guardian. Everything else remains the same and preserved – previous characters, quest progress, gear, levels, achievements, purchases.
Learn more about your options to expand your Destiny 2 experience here:
Are you going to give Destiny 2 a chance with New Light and check it out? Or can even a Free-to-Play version not make you a Guardian?By the way, you can find more details about Destiny 2: New Light here:
