It is supposed to show all the brutality of modern warfare and players are supposed to be put under stress. They have to make uncomfortable decisions and find their way in confusing areas.
But what is the reality like now after the release of Modern Warfare?
Modern Warfare shocks and provokes thought
Important – Spoiler warning: We will address some details from the campaign here. So if you don’t want to be spoiled, you should not continue reading.
This is how the campaign starts: Right at the beginning, it becomes clear that you cannot just casually run through Modern Warfare. You are in a base of Russian mercenaries and must find toxic substances.
It is dark and often you can only see the lights of the weapons. Large spotlights from the Russians make it difficult for you to see, and it takes a moment to get your bearings.
At the end of the mission, you are in a dark room and can only see through the light of your lamp on the weapon. You have to look around every corner if you overlook an enemy, and then you will be taken out quickly.
These images are shown to you: Throughout the campaign, you will encounter several shock elements, be put under stress, and have to make tough decisions quickly.
A terrorist attack in the middle of London, and you are right there. In front of the suicide bomber stands a petrified mother with her son. Dozens of civilian victims and screams blur your vision.
You have to decide in many situations in a split second who is running before you. Is it a civilian or a terrorist? The stress that Infinity Ward mentioned is indeed real. It is anything but easy to shoot the right people in this chaos without hitting an innocent.
In one operation, you storm an apartment building, where you encounter not only clear terrorists but also women and even a baby. But even a crying and pleading woman can grab the weapon of her husband lying on the ground at any moment and shoot at you.
Do I also shoot at the woman? Or do I give her one more second to hopefully come to reason and risk my own life? Or that of one of my comrades? Modern Warfare often places players in such decisions.
You are also in war zones and must fight alongside rebel forces against entire army units. Here, too, the horrors of war can be seen, such as mass graves or public executions.
Does Modern Warfare really shock as promised? In short: There are enough shocks and stress. The campaign captivates you extremely and is like a thrilling movie. You simply want to know what happens next. This also fits with the length of the campaign, as you are done after about 6-8 hours.
But you also see many shocking images, and there are definitely scenes that players ponder long after.
Above all, the constant change of location makes the game exciting, as there are always new places to discover, and you realize that terror can lurk everywhere. The confusion additionally makes the campaign thrilling. You think about every step and thus about each action you take. Could I have done anything differently? Or had to?
What disrupts the campaign a bit: The only point of criticism for the campaign is the all-too-familiar villain, Russia. Even in Modern Warfare, Russia is depicted as bad and cruel. There is an attempt to strike at the Russians wherever possible, and every cliché is utilized in Modern Warfare.
Russia gets quite a bit in Modern Warfare
Nevertheless, one can say that Modern Warfare indeed manages to shock its players in certain situations and shows images that are not easily forgotten. Even for fans who only enjoy multiplayer, it might be worth taking a look at the campaign. Because it could be one of the best in the entire CoD series.
What do you think of the campaign in Modern Warfare? Did it shock you as well?
The head of CCP, the company behind EVE Online, has given a somewhat eccentric interview. He says the MMORPG appeared to him in a dream and commanded him how to proceed. He should unleash the dogs of war and declare the era of chaos. EVE wants it that way.
Who speaks there? It is Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, the CEO of CCP. He gave an interview to the print magazine PC Gamer, and the site PCGamesN reports from it.
The topic is why EVE Online suddenly goes crazy and declared the “era” of chaos:
aggressive NPCs invaded EVE – until then, they were just stupid cannon fodder
CCP hardly gave any warnings and just did it – previously, everything was somewhat predictable
EVE came to him in a dream and said: I don’t like how it’s going
This is what he says:
“You have to imagine EVE as a living being. Eve doesn’t like how things are developing. It doesn’t feel agile anymore. It has lost its endurance, its agility. It feels a bit stiff.
Eve came to me in my dream and told me: Hilmar, unleash the dogs of war.”
In doing so, he affectionately calls EVE Online “Eve” – Eva.
The CEO says this is how the era of chaos began:
“This is how it happened. It came to me in a dream and said: It can’t continue like this: I don’t like it, this is not what I was created for.
The game has a mission. It wants to complete its mission, and this mission is much bigger than what has been executed in the last 16 years.”
When asked what the mission is, the head replies: “I believe it wants world domination.”
After the crisis in 2017, EVE Online is reinventing itself today
What’s behind it: This is surely one of the most eccentric and coolest interviews in MMORPG history. If you know other interviews from Pétursson, then you know that he is a rational man who thinks strategically and has precise ideas about how to lead his company to success:
Pétursson apparently sees the future of EVE Online as becoming an even more radical sandbox, sowing chaos in the game, keeping players in motion.
Strategically, CCP wants to broaden its focus on the EVE brand, likely moving towards mobile and Asia.
This is supposed to be the new mobile MMORPG from EVE
Why is the turnaround happening now? CCP is in the bizarre situation of sitting in Iceland and operating a relatively quirky hardcore MMORPG from there.
EVE Online lives on people taking it far too seriously and being space rulers, diplomats, pirates, hard miners, or industrialists in the world of EVE.
Since the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, players on the Xbox One X have been plagued by another problem in addition to server issues. Apparently, the new Modern Warfare is causing the most powerful console from Microsoft to crash for some players.
Here’s how the launch of Modern Warfare went: The release of Modern Warfare was rolled out worldwide by region and was quite smooth – until around 2 AM German time when North America joined in.
The servers could not withstand the massive influx of players and went down. Nothing worked anymore. However, the situation has improved, and the servers are running stable again.
But another serious problem is currently troubling some players on Microsoft’s console flagship.
What’s causing the crashes? Since the release of Modern Warfare 2019, reports of so-called hard crashes on the Xbox One X have been increasing.
A corresponding Reddit thread titled “So… the game is causing our Xbox One X’s to hard crash…” has received over 21,000 upvotes in about 9 hours (as of 9:00 AM German time). In more than 1,600 comments, numerous Xbox users share their woes – and the numbers are rising.
It looks like the game often crashes the Xbox One X – and this happens in various situations. A clear pattern for how the crashes occur is not yet recognizable. The game simply freezes while playing – whether in the campaign or in multiplayer. Often, the console does not respond afterward or even shuts down. Some report multiple crashes within just a few minutes.
Is there anything players can do? Not really. While players are actively discussing in the relevant thread, a universal solution that players can implement themselves does not seem to exist yet. So all that’s left is to wait.
What are the developers saying? There is still no official solution for the problem. Moreover, it is not yet clear how widespread the crashes are. Because even though the Reddit thread is almost exploding, the developers have so far mentioned only a small number of affected players.
However, Infinity Ward is currently giving this problem high priority; they are already on it and working on a fix.

Corrupted items are poorly received in the WoW community. Therefore, Blizzard is now providing more information on how the system was intended. Is that convincing?
A few days ago, when the “Corrupted Items” system was implemented on the PTR of World of Warcraft , it didn’t take long for a lot of criticism to pour in. At first glance, many players do not like the system at all and do not understand why Blizzard wants to implement it at all. However, the developers explain the system and the intent behind it in more detail.
What is the problem with corrupted items? The “Corruption” effect replaces Titanforging and Warforging in Patch 8.3 (Titanforged and Warforged). It was a chance for items to receive a higher item level than usual or to have socket slots or tertiary stats.
In Patch 8.3 Visions of N’Zoth, items can instead become “corrupted” to gain powerful passive effects. However, these come with a drawback in the form of Corruption. Corruption causes negative effects to haunt the character, such as damage over time or reduced healing.
What does Blizzard say? In a rather lengthy forum post, Blizzard addressed many aspects of corrupted items and explained the developers’ intentions. We present the most important points from the contribution.
All items can be cleansed: It is important to know that all items can be cleansed at any time in the Heart Chamber – without exception. So if you get a much-desired item, but it has become “corrupted” and has an effect you do not want, you can simply cleanse it in the Heart Chamber. This removes the Corruption and the additional effect, and the item returns to its “normal values”.
You can cleanse all items with Mother and Magni if you want.
Corruption can be mitigated: Additionally, players have some protective mechanisms against Corruption, especially the legendary cloak of Furorion. This can be upgraded and then negates part of the player’s Corruption. It would then be possible to wear one or two corrupted items without experiencing any negative effects from them.
How many corrupted items should players wear? The developers do not want players to wear only corrupted items. Instead, the developers assume that at the beginning, 1-2 items can be worn without issues. Those who prefer a bit more challenge can wear 3-4. However, no one should wear much more, as the negative effects of Corruption are intentionally designed to be so strong that they should deter players.
There should be a selection of how many corrupted items one really wants to wear and whether one prefers to store or cleanse some items instead.
Why is Blizzard doing all of this? Blizzard emphasizes that it has heard the players’ criticism of Titanforging. Many items no longer feel like a reward, and often you already have items that are much better when raiding heroically because they have been upgraded in normal raids. With the new system, items will no longer be absurdly powerful, or at least the drawback of Corruption must be compensated.
The system is not permanent: One last point is that the Corruption system is not permanent. Initially, it is only for Season 4, so essentially for the duration of Patch 8.3, a replacement for Titanforging or rather a variation of it. Thematically, it fits well with N’Zoth, whose influence spreads across all of Azeroth. In future patches, the system will likely not be reused.
What is your opinion on corrupted items? Does this sound plausible and sensible? Or is it still “junk”?
With the start of the Halloween festivities, Bungie also brings a new PvP mode, Momentum Control, to Destiny 2, which the developers claim bears strong similarities to a popular Halo game mode.
What was discussed in Bungie’s weekly blog? The Bungie blog “This week at bungie” (also known as TWAB) is published weekly on Thursday nights and this time focused on the “Festival of the Lost” starting next week (October 29).
However, there will also be a new game mode for the Crucible, which Bungie calls Dynamic Control or Momentum Control. According to the developers, this mode is supposed to have strong similarities to the SWAT mode from Halo.
This is how Dynamic Control or Momentum Control works: The game mode will be played in 6v6, and zones must also be captured – just like in Control. Otherwise, however, much is different:
The focus is on combat with weapons
Instant respawn – you no longer have to wait, but can jump back in immediately after dying
Increased weapon damage – according to Bungie, this change will make EVERYTHING in your inventory deadly
Melee, grenades, and supers only charge when you eliminate opponents, no longer on their own
No radar – reminiscent of a Trials of Osiris variant from Destiny 1, where there was also no radar active
Zones are captured faster and grant more bonus points per kill
Super attacks are stronger – you deal significant damage during your super, but can also take much more hits. But be wary of heavy weapons
because more ammunition drops for heavy weapons
This is how the mode could play out: Especially the increased weapon damage combined with the missing radar could provide a lot of fun and at the same time a lot of frustration. Because in the control mode, guardians trying to capture the zones are at a disadvantage. The attackers know the control zones, but the defenders do not know the locations of the enemies – because the radar is gone.
How much the TTK (time to kill) really decreases due to the increased weapon damage is still unknown. Especially submachine guns could become the true kings in this mode. With high damage and increased amounts of heavy ammunition, skilled players can survive for quite a while.
Intended to provide a Halo feel – the new Crucible mode
Bungie actively encourages players to provide feedback so that the developer can respond accordingly. It is also not ruled out that the mode will return in the future.
Memories of Halo’s SWAT custom game mode: According to the developers who tried the mode, Momentum Control plays like the custom game mode SWAT from Halo, which was very popular.
What do you think of this mode? What weapons do you think will be the best?
The developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have announced that the largest mode, Ground War, will not be playable directly at release. Why is that?
A specific time has not yet been given. The USA also has several time zones that could apply for the rough indication.
However, we estimate that Ground War will go online on Saturday morning between 2 and 5 AM.
Why is Ground War coming later? There is still no reason given for the delayed launch of Ground War. Fans suspect that the delay is intended to preserve server capacity at launch.
If the largest mode were available online right away, the servers could crash due to the sheer number of players. To prevent this, Ground War is now being postponed, even if only for a few hours.
When does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launch? The release of the new Call of Duty is on the night from Thursday, the 24th, to Friday, the 25th of October at 12:00 AM for Xbox One and PS4 and at 3:00 AM for PC.
The preload for Modern Warfare has already started for all platforms. The game can be downloaded in advance.
What is Ground War? In Ground War (also known as: Ground War), teams of 32 players compete against each other – a total of 64 players on the map. The mode is thus more reminiscent of traditional Battlefield than of Call of Duty.
Ground War features control points that players must capture and hold as a victory condition.
Pearl Abyss, the developer of Black Desert Online, has released a trailer for a new Battle Royale. It strongly resembles the former game mode of the MMORPG.
What do we know about the new Battle Royale? The new game is called Shadow Arena, just like the old mode in Black Desert. Shadow Arena is set to release for PC and is one of six titles that Pearl Abyss will announce at G-Star 2019.
The website MMO Culture has already released a short teaser for the game. It shows two men exchanging glances for about 10 seconds. Visually, they also resemble those from Black Desert.
The rest of the video only displays the name of the game, Shadow Arena. According to MMO Culture, players in South Korea are already able to register for the Closed Beta.

In the arena, there were repeated incidents of hackers and the use of third-party software. To solve the problem, the developers banned many accounts, but also affected innocent players.

Battle Royale was used to attract new players: Pearl Abyss also utilized the new arena to draw new players into the world of Black Desert.
Now, fans of Shadow Arena apparently hope to find their fortune in a standalone game. When this will be released and how it will be monetized, we will likely learn at G-Star, which takes place from November 14 to 17.
The famous Twitch streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is officially streaming on Mixer as of today. The streamer was at the top of Twitch for a long time. Now he is streaming for Microsoft.
What happened? Shroud announced on Twitter that he is now on Mixer, Microsoft’s streaming platform. With the simple words: “Same shroud. New home.” he announced the switch:

His stream on Mixer is already live, but currently it only shows a countdown that will end at 2:00 AM on Friday morning, German time. This aligns with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which may be his debut stream.
Whether the partnership is exclusive and whether shroud will no longer stream on Twitch is still unknown.
From Twitch Star to
Mixer Streamer
This is the reaction to the switch: Many users on Twitter congratulated shroud on his move and wished him much success on Mixer. Among the commenters are also the biggest WoW streamer Asmongold and the official channel of Apex Legends.
The stream on Mixer
is already going wild. Currently (October 24 at 7:35 PM) over 16,000 people are watching, even though nothing has happened yet. The chat is moving so fast that it’s hard to read anything.
What led to the decision? The reasons behind shroud’s switch are currently only speculation. Some users claim that Microsoft paid a hefty sum for it.
Others suspect that he just wanted to follow the footsteps of the former top-Twitch streamer Ninja, who also recently switched to Mixer and now has even more subscribers there.
What about shroud and Twitch? Shroud was last an extremely successful streamer on Twitch. In the past 30 days, he ranked 9th among the most-watched channels (via sullygnome).
Shroud became particularly known and famous through his shooter streams. There he earned the name “human aimbot”. Recently, however, he also showcased more variety and even turned to WoW Classic.
Twitch is doing better than ever. Despite Mixer’s new offensive, Twitch has increased its lead:
Pokémon GO gives more info about a new item that will be available to you soon: the Rocket Radar. Giovanni is also mentioned during the presentation.
What is Niantic showing? Packaged in a report from Professor Willow, the Rocket Radar is presented. It is the item that Willow showed 2 days ago, but couldn’t use anything with it yet.
Now he reports that he has more information about it and that this radar should help you track down high-ranking members of Team GO Rocket.
Will Giovanni finally come with the Rocket Radar?
What exactly is said about the item? Willow states that when he builds a functional Rocket Radar, one can find the hideouts of Team Rocket.
Recently, Professor Willow showed this plate
In these hideouts not only the simple grunts lurking, which one can also meet at PokéStops, but also high-ranking members of Team GO Rocket or even Giovanni.
What does this find mean? For several days now, there has been a lot of information about Team Rocket. Initially, the 3 team leaders of the villains were introduced. Their names are Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra.
It shows that the data for the new Rocket feature is mostly there. Niantic has also been actively advertising it.
When can we expect the introduction? So far, nothing is known about this. However, Niantic often introduces such large features on a Friday evening. It remains to be seen whether the update will become mandatory for every player by tomorrow evening, as only then can they implement the new features.
For beginners, Pokémon GO now also offers new boxes. This way you can save a lot of money:
Our author Sven has been a big “Call of Duty” fan from the start, but has been continuously disappointed by the game series since 2011. Why the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has rekindled his hopes for the first time.
After years of disappointment from numerous spin-offs of arguably the biggest shooter franchise, I am now genuinely looking forward to a Call of Duty for the first time since 2011. The reason: the new Modern Warfare 2019. Read here why.
This is how I see the “Call of Duty” games of recent years
Since the first installment of the series in 2003, I have been a loyal fan of the “Call of Duty” games. The Modern Warfare series, with all three previous titles and Black Ops 1, still represents my personal highlights of the franchise.
But as much as I loved Modern Warfare 1-3 and Black Ops, I have been disappointed by essentially all other “Call of Duty” titles since 2011, since Modern Warfare 3. I gave each of these games a fair chance. But none of them could hold a candle to my favorites. Until now.
This is what I loved about Call of Duty
When Modern Warfare first brought its namesake modern setting to CoD, I fell in love immediately. That was exactly what I had missed in most shooters back then. Modern weapons, contemporary gear, and the current setting truly captivated me and have not let me go since – especially since I could no longer endure World War II and futuristic scenarios.
Although I probably belong to a minority, I loved and devoured the story of the Modern Warfare series. Yes, a lot of it was scripted. Yes, there were linear levels. Yes, the AI wasn’t the best, and the story wasn’t particularly profound.
But the protagonists were distinctive, the story was genuinely captivating due to my own involvement, and many missions, like being a gunner in a gunship or at the Polar Base, were executed spectacularly. I always felt like I was in a thrilling action movie and was always thoroughly entertained. I could hardly wait to find out how things would continue with the operators of Task Force 141.
Additionally, the gameplay in multiplayer has remained unmatched for me in the CoD franchise since Modern Warfare 2/3. Since then, I have never had as much fun in multiplayer in a Call of Duty – with the exception of Black Ops 1.
It was back then the slow, grounded gameplay that truly made you feel like a human soldier – that was the appeal for me. You were primarily dependent on your weapons and your individual skills in handling them. The relatively fresh killstreaks at that time were well-balanced and not overly exaggerated. Most maps were asymmetrically designed and offered exciting combat.
Since 2011, the franchise and the gameplay have evolved. But in my view, it has consistently deteriorated. Many of the “innovations” rather spoiled the series for me than pushed it forward.
The speed has increased, the matches have become more chaotic, and the equipment has become increasingly futuristic. Eventually, specialists came along, whose sometimes outrageous weapons and abilities almost ruined any fun for me. The maps offered nothing special anymore and almost completely resembled each other in their structure.
When meter-high jumps with exoskeletons and wall runs were introduced, the air was completely out for me. That was no longer a Call of Duty that I knew and loved. Destiny or Titanfall could do that better, and it fit there far better.
In short: After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the series completely lost its character for me. Everything since then has felt like a carelessly thrown-together homogeneous mix that has been hurriedly put on the market just because obviously a CoD title needs to be released every year or to attract a broader (and younger) audience.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t make anything of this development. Although I played every Call of Duty title extensively after 2011, none of the spin-offs have convinced me since then. These games disappeared from my hard drive surprisingly quickly.
For me, the negative highlight was Black Ops 4 with all its controversial and, in my opinion, aggressive microtransaction policies and the lack of a single-player campaign. Personally, I had concluded with Call of Duty and told myself – with Call of Duty 2019, you will for the first time skip a title in the series. Because I was sure that this trend would continue with the new Call of Duty.
First of all, I became alert when it became clear that Call of Duty 2019 is a reboot of the Modern Warfare series and that Infinity Ward is behind the development.
Because Modern Warfare and Infinity Ward represent for me the coolest and most entertaining single-player experiences that this franchise has had besides the original Black Ops. For example, to this day I know every single main character from all Modern Warfare installments by name and nickname and can easily recount the plot down to the smallest detail.
However, I can hardly remember any of the protagonists after 2011. Honestly, I don’t even remember what the individual stories were about – although I played them all.
Even though it is a reboot with a completely reimagined story, I am sure that the story of Modern Warfare will entertain me just as much. And what I have seen so far supports my hope.
Additionally, I have high hopes that perhaps multiplayer with Modern Warfare will return to its roots and can capture me again as it did in 2011. And after experiencing the alpha and beta, I was not disappointed.
Overall, the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare has improved almost everything that has bothered me about Call of Duty in recent years and also brings innovations that I finally find appropriate and consistent instead of annoying.
Here are some arguments that make me have new hope in Call of Duty with the new Modern Warfare:
Setting
Finally a contemporary scenario again
Modern Warfare comes with a single-player campaign – and what I have seen so far has been really entertaining. That it’s a reboot, I see more as an opportunity and I’m excited about the cool new stories I’ll experience with Captain Price and Co this time.
Gameplay
The gameplay in multiplayer actually returns to its roots. Anyone who liked the pace and game flow of Modern Warfare 2 and 3 or Black Ops in multiplayer will feel right at home here.
There are no more specialists, exoskeletons, exaggerated equipment, or super abilities. The focus is finally back on map knowledge and individual weapon handling skills.
The gameplay is significantly calmer, more grounded, and no longer as frantic as in the spin-offs of recent years
Equipment for multiplayer can also be earned through the campaign. Progress I make in multiplayer is also valid in co-op, etc. I can play where and what I want – progress is cross-genre
Modes
Battle Royale and Zombies are omitted. Instead, co-op missions from the old Modern Warfare and some other fun formats for traditional multiplayer like 2vs2 gunfight or ground war for up to 64 players (32vs32) are being introduced.
Miscellaneous
Loot boxes are completely disappearing. Instead, a battle pass system is being introduced, where you can earn or purchase rewards directly and without randomness.
There is cross-play between PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
There is no annual pass and no paid map DLCs anymore. All new maps and modes are available to all players for free.
These are just a few of the most important changes. I could easily expand this list to double its size now.
My conclusion on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019
Actually, I was sure that I would skip Call of Duty in 2019. But the more I heard, read, saw, and experienced about Modern Warfare, the more convinced I am that I will not be disappointed by Call of Duty for the first time in 8 years. The more I am looking forward to finally diving into the campaign and multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
How do you view the new Modern Warfare so far? Does it excite you for more, or is the new Call of Duty completely indifferent to you?
Until when are the titles being postponed? In a message dated October 24, Ubisoft notified its investors that both Watch Dogs Legion and Rainbow Six: Quarantine are being postponed.
We have decided to postpone the releases of Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Watch_Dogs Legion until 2020-21. While each of these games already has a strong identity and great potential, we want our teams to have more time for development to ensure that their respective innovations are perfectly implemented, providing optimal experiences for players.
The Division 2 and
Breakpoint responsible for the postponement
This was the problem with the games: Both Breakpoint and The Division 2 generated less revenue than Ubisoft originally planned. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint faced three issues that need to be specifically addressed:
It is hard to generate interest for a sequel to an optimized service game (Wildlands).
Gameplay innovations were not optimally implemented and were thus poorly received.
Breakpoint was not different enough (likely too similar to Wildlands) to stand out with its qualities.
Poor reviews and a bad overall impression of Breakpoint led to a lack of buyers for the game and its add-ons.
The Division 2 reportedly did not have as severe problems according to Ubisoft, but it still fell short of expectations. The bigger flops included the expeditions that were not well received.
What does this mean for Ubisoft? The setback will impact the company’s planned development model and its financial results. However, Ubisoft remains optimistic.
They are “confident in their ability to adapt and evolve,” as they have successfully done many times before. A good example of this attitude is the action game For Honor:
Game developer Ubisoft has filed a lawsuit against a company selling cheats for their game Rainbow Six Siege. The 17-year-old managing director allegedly made thousands of dollars.
What kind of company is this? The cheat provider markets itself under the name “MizuSoft” and is run by a 17-year-old man. The company sells cheats for a lot of money that give the player significant advantages in a round.
Ubisoft is suing because they spend “enormous sums” each month to mitigate the damage caused by cheat software.
Ubisoft seeks damages
This is what the lawsuit looks like: Because Ubisoft has incurred this damage, they demand entitlement to all profits of the company or at least $25,000 in damages, reports the US magazine dotesports.
Ubisoft itself states that the cheat developer has committed to “creating, selling, distributing, managing, supporting, and updating malicious software products specifically designed (and have no other purpose) to enable their users to cheat in Rainbow Six Siege, at the expense of Ubisoft and its legitimate customers.”
In addition to the 17-year-old managing director, three other individuals are being sued. They allegedly provided technical and customer support for the software. Also involved is the defendant’s mother, who is said to be handling the company’s finances.
This is the background of the lawsuit: In September, the BBC released a documentary about the cheat seller. There, the boy appeared masked on camera and stated that he earns several thousand dollars per month from his sales.
Banned cheaters are quickly dealt with in Rainbow Six Siege
Ubisoft is relentless: This lawsuit shows once again that the developers are very strict about rule violations. Since 2016, Ubisoft has consistently banned users caught cheating even once.
The first servers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are now live. Those living in the easternmost parts of the map can start playing now. Everyone else will have to wait a little longer.
Who can play already? The release of Modern Warfare is worldwide at 0:00 local time for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (exception: North America). This means that in countries where it is already past midnight, people can start playing.
As of the time of writing (5:53 PM), this currently affects the countries Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. In these countries, both the campaign and multiplayer can be played immediately.
Only PC players will have to wait a bit longer. Here, the release in Germany is at 3:00 AM on Friday morning.
Is there any way we can start earlier? In previous releases, it was possible to start Call of Duty earlier by inserting the CD or accessing other countries via VPN.
On Xbox One, players have already found out that they can simply set their location settings to New Zealand. They can then start Modern Warfare easily.

However, it seems this does not work for the other versions. The PC version launches worldwide at the same time (and not locally like the console version).
No methods are currently known for PS4 to start Modern Warfare earlier.
Launch of Modern Warfare – How strong is the release
How well is the release going? The first players have already tested many of the modes or are currently playing. Some are sharing their experiences on social media and on reddit.
Here, the first impressions are quite positive. The servers seem to be stable, and there are few to no reports of poor connections. The biggest game mode is still disabled, presumably in favor of stability.
However, currently, there are hardly any reports from players since most are likely busy playing. The gameplay, the graphics, and also the Gunsmith feature are already receiving praise.
Only occasionally can problems or complaints be read.
These are the issues: Some users report crashes on Xbox One. Others find that the game is not displayed as purchased on PS4, even though they state they own it and have not returned it.
However, these are isolated reports. The majority of players seem to be able to play without problems.
The vault hunters were also adjusted repeatedly. However, the game’s performance issues still persist in part. The community was not very pleased – now Creative Director Paul Sage explained why there were so many adjustments.
This is what Paul Sage from Gearbox says about the updates
This is why the adjustments were made: In a long interview with Forbes Paul Sage explained how many of the adjustments came about. At Gearbox, they are not big fans of nerfs themselves. However, the recently adjusted legendary weapons were simply too strong. Gearbox had to react: “These weapons were dramatically overpowered compared to all other legendary weapons. And we couldn’t just buff all the other weapons.”
Because then those weapons would have been too strong again. And that would significantly affect builds – even more than the previous updates. However, the nerfed weapons are by no means useless: “Even after we weakened them, many commented that they still felt very powerful.”
This is why so many balance patches come early: Paul Sage further emphasizes that it is important to make such adjustments early. “It will affect fewer players overall, and it helps to restore a baseline so that future content can be created better.” They want to ensure that players can still enjoy Borderlands 3 for many years – just like it was with Borderlands 2.
Buffing everything is certainly not the answer. You have to be cautious. However, they do not want to take away the fun from the players – on the contrary: “Sometimes we will find a build that crushes enemies faster than we expected. And that’s okay,” Sage said. However, the game always needs to provide a challenge: “We definitely want our players to find good builds, but if a encounter that should last 2 seconds lasts less than 0.01 seconds, we have a problem.”
At Gearbox, they are trying to bring more variance into the gameplay. Other weapons have also been improved – and players have more to experiment with.
If you want to try something new, why not try this Zane build:
From the LoL developers Riot Games comes a new first-person shooter called Valorant. While it features different characters, it is said to resemble Counter-Strike more than Overwatch. 10 former professionals were able to test the game 6 months ago. One player is now raving about Project A.
Who is raving? The player Ronald “Rambo” Kim was previously a pro in Counter-Strike. He started playing at LANs at age 15, made a name for himself, and then had a great career as an eSports athlete for over 10 years.
He has now reached the biblical age of 35 for a gamer and runs a YouTube channel (via YouTube).
As he reports, 10 former professional players were able to test the game 5 or 6 months ago. Among them are FPS experts from Call of Duty, Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike GO, and Quake 3.
Kim himself was invited by “Volcano,” a former teammate of his. He later worked on CS:GO and is now employed by Riot Games. For a long time, no one knew what Volcano was doing.
For 3 days, they learned about the characters and the game
For 2 days, Project A was played as if a tournament had already started and it was all about money
Kim can’t reveal too much new information, but he describes his impressions of what he was able to play.
I am very critical – the game is phenomenal
This is what Kim says: He says he is critical about FPS games: he takes them very seriously. A first-person shooter must feel good, have good balance, provide the right pace and deliver precise aiming.
Project A has met all of his high expectations.
The game feels very precise and rewarding. It reminds Kim of his favorite games (likely Counter-Strike).
Kim explains how important it is to him that a game rewards good positioning – and not weird “peeking.” He believes Project A addresses this problem well. Riot is also heavily working on anti-cheat measures, which are very important for competitive players.
Beyond shooting, the characters have their own abilities with cooldowns – this opens up more possibilities and allows for combos and synergies.
Kim says the game felt phenomenal 6 months ago, and he wouldn’t have been disappointed if this had already been the release version.
He believes the game is already quite advanced. A beta could start soon – perhaps within a year.
Project A – the “new” CS:GO?
This is what it’s about: It seems that Project A has been fully geared towards eSports from day one and aims to please the professionals of the scene. This aligns with Riot Games.
Project A appears to be clearly positioned as a competitor to CS:GO: a classic, competitive shooter without much fluff. There is certainly an interesting market – CS:GO is already 7 years old. And Riot Games knows how to do eSports and stage it.
In Fortnite, the 2nd week of Season 11 (Chapter 2, Season 1) is currently underway. There are new challenges to complete. In one of the “Juice-Slurped-Mission,” you need to upgrade your weapons. We will show you how to do that.
What kind of challenge is this? In this challenge, you need to upgrade 3 weapons at a weapon upgrade bench.
Upgrading Weapons in Fortnite – Here’s How
How can you upgrade your weapons? To upgrade a weapon, you first need to find an upgrade bench. Afterwards, you need materials to upgrade the weapon there.
Depending on the rarity of your weapon, the upgrade will cost more materials. Here’s how much it costs from:
common (gray) to uncommon (green): 50 materials
uncommon (green) to rare (blue): 150 materials
rare (blue) to epic (purple): 250 materials
epic (purple) to legendary (gold): 350 materials
So if you want to upgrade your weapon as “cheaply” as possible, you should prefer weapons with lower rarity.
How does the workbench function? You go to the upgrade bench and select the weapon you want to improve. As long as you have enough materials, you can simply upgrade your weapon.
If you have enough materials for all weapons, you can upgrade all 3 weapons one after the other.

Weapon Upgrade Bench / Workbench – Locations
Where can you find an upgrade bench? These benches can be found in many locations on the map. They are usually located in the basements of buildings.
We will show you on the map where you can find a weapon upgrade bench.
Locations on the map:
If you want to take your time upgrading, it is advisable to visit a location that is unmarked. You will always find the weapon upgrade bench in a house there and you will usually not encounter many enemies.
But you can also find upgrade benches in named locations like:
Retail Row
Frenzy Farm
Dirty Docks
Craggy Cliffs
Sweaty Sands
However, at these locations, it might be challenging to upgrade your weapons. Many enemies often land there with you, and you risk being eliminated beforehand.
Are you also part of this record from the black hole?
In Pokémon GO there are 2 new offer boxes in the shop, but they are not available to everyone. Especially beginners are meant to benefit from them.
What are these boxes? These offers can be found in the in-game shop of Pokémon GO. However, not everyone can find them, as experienced players cannot benefit from the boxes. These boxes are not unknown, as they were already found in the code in Update 0.157.0.
The offers are called “Beginner Box” and “New Trainer Box.” It is not entirely clear whether they are two different boxes or if one is mistakenly offered, as they cost about the same, but provide significantly less content.
In addition to the normal offer boxes, there is also the Beginner Box. Source: Reddit
New Offer Boxes for Beginners – Are They Worth It?
What’s inside the boxes? The content is the same, but the quantity differs greatly. There are hardly any differences in terms of price.
Which box is good? There’s no need for a detailed analysis to see that the New Trainer Box is significantly better. Here you only pay 10 cents more, but get much more in return.
Just the 4 Raid Passes cost 400 coins in the shop, which have an approximate value of €4. So it’s an enormous saving that you get here.
This box is quite worthwhile
Who can buy the boxes? It is still not entirely clear. Players who have had the game since 2016 report that they can buy the boxes. So they are not new players.
But even players at level 40 can buy the boxes. This means that level cannot be the deciding factor.
Are the boxes intentional? The offers are definitely not a bug. It is just questionable whether a price difference of 10 cents really makes such a significant difference in content.
It could be that Niantic will adjust this again. If you can, you should buy the New Trainer Box, as it is extremely worthwhile and might be improved further.
What is special? These are the first boxes that you can only buy with real money. Until now, you only had to invest coins for this, and you get 50 coins per day. Those who diligently save can use them to buy other boxes.
What do you think about the boxes? Are you going for it and buying a box?
In the MMORPG Guild Wars 2, some developer teams have been restructured. This brings some changes, including adjustments for balance in PvP and WvW.
What has changed with the teams? The systems team, which is responsible for rewards, balance, and general innovations in Guild Wars 2, has undergone some changes.
The most important change is that the balance of classes is no longer handled solely by the skills team; rather, the changes in PvP and WvW will now be carried out by the competitive team.
This team has also announced better communication with players and has implemented the first steps toward this.
The PvP is set to receive better balance
More communication as the key to success
What is happening in the forums? Developer Cal “cmc” Cohen is the newest member of the systems team and has directly opened two threads in the official forum. One is collecting balance changes for PvP, the other for WvW.
In this, he also announces that:
The next update will be smaller but will aim to make targeted changes to solve current issues.
The time saved will be used to address larger and more general problems in the future.
To clarify the fundamental issues, there are threads where discussions on these topics will take place.
How are the players reacting? In the forums and on reddit, players are reacting very positively to the announcement. More communication and better balance are topics that have been long overdue for some.
The PvP streamer Angeels is even very enthusiastic about the announcement. He writes:
I have read some concerns about whether this statement regarding communication is just talk and won’t be properly implemented. It is quite true. I rarely praise, especially ArenaNet, but this is a good innovation, and I am confident that things will change soon.
When asked why he is so confident, he only replied that there are things he cannot talk about.

Systems team brought some innovations in 2019
What else is the systems team responsible for? In addition to the four teams currently working on new content, the systems team is an important cornerstone of the game. It has been responsible for innovations such as:
The latter innovations have always been communicated early and openly by the systems team. Perhaps this is exactly the way to win back fans, who are currently dissatisfied with the MMORPG.
Which 7 legendary weapons are particularly worth it in the current 8th season of Destiny 2 and where to get them, we have summarized here for you.
With each new season or major expansion like Shadowkeep, new items, armor, and weapons find their way into the Destiny universe. The 7 legendary weapons presented in this article are among the absolute highlights in the season of the Immortals.
In addition to the corresponding sources, we will also tell you what rolls to look out for.
The new Moon weapons – Out of this world
The first three weapons can be obtained from the Enchantment kiosk on the Moon. To get hold of the powerful firearms, you need to cleanse special essences. Read here how cleansing essences at the Enchantment kiosk works precisely:
The sniper “Rest” (Tranquility) is in the kinetic slot and requires special ammunition. With a fire rate of 90 and a power of 70, this precision weapon belongs to the same archetype as the popular “Beloved” and is a good alternative to the sniper from the Menagerie.
This roll should be aimed for PvP:
Extended Barrel
Enhanced Rounds
No Distraction (Aiming reduces flinching while under fire)
Snapshot Sights or Opening Shot
Range or Handling Masterwork
Rest: Useful in PvP and PvE
This roll should be aimed for PvE:
Smallbore
Tactical Mag or Extended Mag
Ready for Anything
Line ‘Em Up (Increased precision damage when at least 2 allies are nearby)
Trait 2: “Significantly Better” – increases explosive damage (up to 25%) the further the projectile flies
Blast Radius Masterwork
Let the fire rain
A Small Step – Shotgun
The fast-firing shotgun “A Small Step” (One Small Step) is in the kinetic slot and requires special ammunition. You can compare the shotgun with the notorious Ikelos shotgun. Especially in PvE, you will mow down enemy hordes.
The 180 revolver “Optative” comes with Void damage and is characterized by its excellent accuracy. The versatile weapon is particularly convincing on consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) and can drop multiple times in a run of the Vex Offensive.
This roll should be aimed for PvP:
Hammer-Forged Rifling or Extended Barrel
Improved Rounds
Quickdraw
Kill Clip
Handling or Range Masterwork
This roll should be aimed for PvE:
Extended Barrel
Improved Rounds
Outlaw or Quickdraw
Kill Clip or Grenadier
Range Masterwork
Enduring through time like the Vex themselves
The Weapons from the Shadowkeep Raid
The new raid “Garden of Salvation” is traditionally one of the most interesting and challenging activities of the season. It is only fair that some top weapons are waiting as rewards for the hardworking Guardians.
Holy Origin – Pulse Rifle
The kinetic pulse rifle not only impresses with its futuristic optics. The weapon is convincing in almost all areas of Destiny 2. After the third raid encounter, you have the chance to get “Holy Origin”. This aggressive 4-burst rifle can be compared to favorites like The Time-Worn Spire.
This roll should be aimed for PvP and PvE:
Arrowhead Brake
Ricochet Rounds or High-Caliber Rounds
Quickdraw (unique to a Pulse Rifle)
Kill Clip
Range or Stability Masterwork
A real all-rounder
Ancient Sermon – Hand Cannon
The Solar hand cannon, with a fire rate of 140, is one of the reliable representatives of its kind. Also included are the “Pikass”. The firearm impresses with its versatility and consistently good stats. After the third raid encounter, you have the chance to get “Ancient Sermon”.
Furthermore, hand cannons like “Ancient Sermon” or “Optative” particularly benefit from the seasonal artifact. Many of the powerful mods are specifically tailored to this weapon class, making them even more efficient tools against current threats. One example would be the fierce champions from the new Nightfall: The Ordeal.
This roll should be aimed for PvP:
Smallbore or Hammer-Forged Rifling
Improved Rounds
All perks are excellent (Quickdraw, Sliding, Eye of the Storm, and Outlaw)
Kill Clip or Snapshot
Range or Stability Masterwork
This roll should be aimed for PvE:
Extended Barrel
Improved Rounds
Outlaw or Quickdraw
Dragonfly or Swashbuckler
Range Masterwork
With the combination of Outlaw and Dragonfly and a dragonfly spec, you can imitate the famous “Fatebringer” from Destiny 1.
All-Knowing Eye – Sniper Rifle
The precision rifle “All-Knowing Eye” has the Solar element and requires special ammunition. With a rate of fire of 140, the weapon is among the rapid-fire snipers.
With high aim assist (72) and the fact that you can send an opposing Guardian to the virtual afterlife with two quick body shots (of course, only if your headshot misses), the weapon is made for PvP. You need to defeat the final boss of the raid to have a chance at “All-Knowing Eye”.
This roll should be aimed for PvP:
Extended Barrel
Improved Rounds
No Distraction
Snapshot Sights
The All-Knowing Eye – elegant and deadly

The fast-food giant Burger King has posted a tweet about the new shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This hints at a collaboration between the two franchises. What can fans expect now?
This shows Burger King: A tweet has appeared on Burger King’s official Twitter page a few hours ago. It simply states “mission incoming”, meaning: mission incoming. Attached is a short animation:

The coordinates refer to a GameStop location, although they were shortly thereafter corrected in follow-up tweets. The new coordinates point to the location of a Burger King restaurant.
The respective branch, to be found via Street View on Google Maps.
Is a big “Modern Warfare” event coming at release?
This could mean the tweet: Currently, there are no specific details about what this tweet could mean. However, fans on Reddit and Twitter have already made some speculations about what might be behind the teaser:
They suspect a return of the “Burger Town” missions from previous “Call of Duty” titles, for example in the campaign of Modern Warfare.
An event is also conceivable, where promo codes for more XP in menus at Burger King could be included.
Something simple like “Burger King” pendants or exclusive attachments for the gunsmith feature are also possible.
Are interesting attachments coming? Or just pendants?
The original coordinates for a GameStop location create a bit of confusion.
Some fans speculate that there might be a type of Burger catering for the release of Modern Warfare at GameStop.
Why the collaboration? A reference to Burger King already existed in earlier parts of Call of Duty, such as Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Advanced Warfare.
Various “Burger Town” branches were around, which represented a clear reference to the burger giant. The branches were relevant for missions where they could be entered.
What exactly lies behind the promo will become clear at the latest tonight. Then Modern Warfare will be released – although not yet completely:
