A player with a win rate of over 60% in more than 1,400 games in Call of Duty: Warzone has now revealed his match tactic. Check out the strategy here and how you can achieve more victories with his approach.

What kind of player is this? If the leaderboard of the CoD Tracker for Call of Duty: Warzone is not currently filled with false and cheated values, one player stands out significantly in the “Wins” category. “iron11745” is here with a strong 870 wins in 1,441 matches (May 12, 4 PM) and thus ranks #1 in total wins.

The CoD YouTuber “JGOD” has pressed the pro a bit and has now featured the match strategy of Warzone rocker “Its_Iron” in an English YT video:

To replicate the tactic, “JGOD” not only spoke with the player but also followed some rounds of gameplay on the Twitch channel of “Its_Iron”. “Iron” and his team usually follow the same pattern:

• Match Start: One player gets a helicopter, while the other members land at an objective and/or start looting.
• The team meets up and buys a loadout drop with “Overkill” as a perk as quickly as possible.
• After that, they complete as many recon contracts as possible and gather plenty of cash and information about the upcoming gas circles.
• They then pick up the first free loadout drop. By this time, 4-5 recon missions should be completed.
• With the free supply box, they acquire the perk “Ghost”.
• Now, it’s time to go to a buy station. One player buys an ammunition box, everyone gets a self-revive, and if there’s still money left, a few killstreaks.
• Now it’s practically already endgame. The team finds a power position in the recon circle and finishes the match calmly.

With this tactic, “Iron” has achieved a very strong win rate of approximately 60%. On average, he has won about 13 games a day since the release on March 10. So many wins are something that some players can’t even achieve in total. He and his teams do not focus on kills, like other record hunters, but they focus solely on victories.

However, “JGOD” emphasizes that this strategy also depends on the team’s skill and knowledge of the map and mechanics. In the next section, you will find hints about the phases of the strategy and how you can adopt this gameplay.

Details and Tactic Tips of the Strategy

How do I start the match? Split your team. One of you goes down with a helicopter while the rest of the team looks for a good spot with plenty of loot and contracts. Try to loot as much as possible with minimal risk – especially cash. It’s important to know how to land quickly at any point on the map.

When do I get the loadout? As soon as your team has gathered 10,000 $ for the supply box, meet at a buy station and get your personal loadout with the best weapons in Warzone. Here, take a setup with “Overkill” and get two strong, customized weapons early in the match.

What kind of loadouts do I need? For the strategy, you should create at least 2 loadouts:

• Overkill Loadout
• Ghost Loadout

The Overkill Loadout is your primary source for weapons. “Iron” and his team aim to get their loadout as quickly as possible, giving them a significant advantage over players who might still have their starter pistol as a secondary weapon. The very stable Grau 5.56 often appeared in the record player’s loadout.

With your second loadout, you get “Ghost” as a perk, replacing “Overkill”. “Ghost” is one of the strongest perks in Warzone and protects you from drones and heartbeat sensors. An important bonus if you want to hold your position later in the game.

How do I quickly complete many recon contracts? Know your landing zones and work through the contracts gradually. With your helicopter, you can quickly get to another area of the map and take on even more recon missions. However, be cautious during helicopter flights. The rockets in Warzone won’t take you down directly, but you will lose the helicopter with a hit.

While the contracts are not the same in every round, if you know your drop location and have done the recon missions frequently, you can assess where the area to capture is. According to “JGOD”, the recon contracts have only 2 possible target points if you find them in a specific location. If you know the targets, station team members at possible zones and capture the points even faster.

This way you get plenty of cash and already have an idea of where the final fight will take place. The team around “Iron” completes 4-5 recon missions even before the first circle is completely closed.

How do I get the first free loadout? Just like the targets of the recon missions, the free loadout drops are predictable. You will receive the first one 15 seconds before the first gas circle is completely formed. The match has been going on for about 8 minutes at that point.

Since the box comes down near one of the team members, it’s best to stick together at this point. The points are fixed here too, and if you are theoretically in the same spot in every match, the box will land in the same spot. Remember the small details of your favorite spots and use that knowledge to operate even more efficiently.

What should I buy at the buy station? Here, everyone can pick up a few helpful items for the endgame. The whole team should equip themselves with revive tokens, and you need at least one ammunition box.

If you still have cash left, grab precision or cluster strikes. Anything that helps hold the final position.

How should I proceed until the end? With all the recon missions, you already know pretty well where the last fight will take place. Move carefully in that direction and familiarize yourself with the terrain.

Find the best position and finish the match from there. From now on, it’s all about your skill in holding positions and combat. Another CoD expert has created a training program for this.

With this match tactic, “Iron” and his teammates have already achieved a lot of victories. However, it is not for everyone, as it often leads to a long phase of calm while protecting your endgame position from other teams. Soldiers who focus more on kills instead of wins have very different strategies.

Why is this useful? If you land before your opponents, you can loot faster – even if it’s just a few milliseconds. You can open boxes faster or pick up a weapon immediately, giving you an advantage over pistol players.

3 Methods for Quick and Optimal Landing

It’s important to choose the right method for the correct distance so you don’t waste unnecessary time in the air. First, select one of the best landing spots in Warzone to aim for.

Then estimate how far the distance to your target is, using the marked squares on the map. You will determine the landing method based on the distance from the flight path of the plane:

• 1-1.5 squares
• up to 3.5 squares
• and more squares to the end of the map

1. Short (1-1.5 Squares) – No Parachute

If your preferred zone is between one and one and a half squares away from the plane’s distance, you will not use the parachute at all. Your horizontal speed is enough to move over this distance.

Mark the landing zone and aim for the marker. Adjust slightly upwards if necessary to land flatter and gain more distance.

However, make sure not to jump out of the plane directly above the targeted point, but about one square in front of it. This way, you will already be half on the ground before other players, who jump directly above the point, even leave the plane.

With a trick for PS4 and Xbox One, you can then ensure that you loot much faster.

2. Medium (up to 3.5 Squares) – Open and Close Parachute

This method is widely used and recommended by many players. If you want to land a little off the flight route, it’s advisable to continuously open and close the parachute. Follow a very simple pattern:

• set a marker for landing at the appropriate distance
• aim for the marker and move in free fall
• once you reach a speed of about 40-50 meters per second (shown on the right of the screen), open the parachute
• immediately close the parachute again
• fall again until you reach a speed of 40-50 meters per second and repeat until you land

If your target is a bit closer or further away, you can adjust the distance you actually fly based on your speed. With higher falling speed, you fly shorter, and with lower falling speed, you fly further. At 40-50 meters per second, you cover about 3-3.5 squares.

3. Long (Across the Entire Map) – Only Parachute

The third method presented by Ace uses only the parachute. Once you leave the airplane and can deploy the parachute, you open it and keep it deployed.

This way, you descend as slowly as possible and probably land after all other players, but you can traverse the entire map. This is only advisable if you really want to land at the other end of the map, for example, to complete a challenge there.

This way you start the game a bit later than all other players, but you will most likely have more preparation time. Instead of early fights, you will arrive fully equipped later and have a better chance of getting a loadout with the best weapons for Warzone or the most useful items of the battle royale before heading into battle.

More Tips for Faster Landing

There are still some details about landing that can give you a slight advantage over others if you use them correctly. Along with our landing tips, you can design your own methods that fit your play style:

• the airplane is faster than you when you fall. Use it as long as you need it
  • airplane: 75m/s horizontal
  • player: up to 40m/s horizontal
• you always fall from 500m above sea level. So you are faster on the ground if you jump over a mountain
• one grid square always measures 375 meters by 375 meters
• once you have used the parachute at least once, you must open it manually before landing – it will no longer open automatically

A common mistake many players make is opening the parachute too early. Modern Warfare wants to be realistic, but that doesn’t apply to falling physics.

As soon as you open the parachute, you immediately lose your falling speed. Therefore, it is sufficient to open the chute just before hitting the ground to avoid dying. This way you can gain a few milliseconds.
