The new hack-and-slash Killsquad has been in Early Access on Steam since 2019 and finally celebrated its release at the end of October 2021. Since then, many good reviews have come in, praising especially the combat system.
What kind of game is it? Killsquad is a classic hack-and-slash from the Spanish indie developer Novarama and has a rather unusual setting.
The galaxy has lost its order, and the mega-corporations are hiring bounty hunters to restore it. You are one of these bounty hunters and thus part of the Killsquad.
You can choose from 5 different classes, each with their own weapons and skills
You slice through hordes of enemies in search of loot
You can venture out alone or in co-op with up to 4 players
More than 30 different missions await you on 5 different planets
There are a total of 15 boss fights
Killsquad features twin-stick controls
In terms of gameplay, it is strongly reminiscent of Diablo, while the setting and weapons are more akin to Destiny or another space game.
How is the game received? Killsquad was in Early Access for over 2 years and celebrated its release on October 21, 2021. The game costs 19.99 Euros on Steam.
Notably, the 301 reviews from the last 30 days are 80% and thus “very positive.” However, this was not always the case. At the start of Early Access in 2019, the reviews were only about 60% positive. Especially since the official release, the reviews have significantly increased.
Although the ARPG averages only 145 players and 587 simultaneous players at peak, it seems to be well-received by those actively playing Killsquad.
The YouTuber Thyworm also finds that Killsquad is a totally underrated ARPG and has summarized his opinion in a video with plenty of gameplay:

Praise for combat system and diverse missions, criticism of co-op
What do the positive voices say about Killsquad? The reviews especially praise the combat system:
It is said to be very action-packed
Requires quick reactions
Strongly dependent on individual skill
Errors are said to be severely punished by the game, which can quickly lead to death
The various missions are also praised. The user Brunoborne writes, “There are so many things to do regarding missions, leveling, quests, loot, and character development. The game is packed with cool content, cool ideas, and a variety of missions.”
YouTuber Thyworm also highlights the variety of missions. He talks about fighting bosses, escort quests, or collection quests for specific resources. There are also supposed to be random events, making the missions even more diverse.
Moreover, the ARPG is said to be grindy, but not as bad as some other titles in the genre.
What is criticized? The biggest point of criticism is that in co-op, the player who creates the game has the most fun with Killsquad. The other players in the group experience lags and issues with the damage indicator circle.
Additionally, missions are said to become easier when you travel with more players because the scaling is not ideal, and the ability to revive others is a significant advantage.
Moreover, there are still some bugs, such as an infinite death loop, preventing you from being revived by your teammates. Performance is also noted as a point of criticism by some, with some players unable to exceed 15 FPS.
Nevertheless, Killsquad generally receives very positive feedback in reviews. So, if you are waiting for a new hack-and-slash like Diablo, you could have fun with this game. If you are looking for more alternatives, you will find them here:
In the endgame of New World, the two PvP modes Wars and Outpost Rush play a significant role. We at MeinMMO present you with two strong DPS builds that allow you to have a lot of fun and rack up plenty of kills in these modes.
What are these builds? The two builds focus purely on damage. They are particularly suited for instanced mass battles like Wars and Outpost Rush, but can also be utilized for duels in the open world.
Who is speaking here? Alexander Leitsch is the MMORPG expert at MeinMMO. He feels at home in games like Guild Wars 2, Black Desert, and ESO. He has invested over 300 play hours in New World across the Alpha, Beta, and release versions, and he has recently reached level 60.
Since reaching level 60, he has been focusing on PvP and searching for the best builds accordingly.
Axe + Great Axe
Why is this combo played? The Axe and Great Axe both scale with the Strength attribute, making them a useful combo. Additionally, you can pull enemies with the axe and then deal massive damage to them with the axe.
The Axe has the unique feature that through the attribute “Defy Death”, you become invulnerable for 3 seconds when you would normally die. This allows you to defeat your enemy just in time, sprint to safety, or get healed by allies.
How do I distribute the attributes? You invest most points in Strength. Remaining attribute points go into Constitution to increase your hit points in PvP.
Which skills do I use with the Axe? With the Axe, you primarily focus on the Berserker tree and use all 3 active skills from it:
Berserker
Feral Rush
Raging Torrent
The Berserker mode increases your dealt damage, your movement speed, you cannot be interrupted, and you also regenerate hit points. This makes the weapon very strong in both PvP and PvE.
You use Feral Rush to leap towards enemies that are not directly next to you. Raging Torrent, in turn, deals significant damage and subsequently increases your movement speed.
The skill trees of the Axe.
Which skills do I use with the Great Axe? With the Great Axe, you utilize both skill trees:
Gravity Well
Charge
Maelstrom
With Charge, you sprint towards opponents. With Gravity Well, you pull in opponents that stand in front of you, and with Maelstrom, you pull opponents around you closer to you. This provides a lot of useful crowd control to take out healers.
The skill trees of the Great Axe.
What does the gear look like? Since you are engaged in close combat and also want Strength on your PvP armor, we recommend the heavy 490 or 520 armor from your faction. In general, you should pay attention to the attributes Strength and Constitution when acquiring armor.
Light armor is not recommended as you will die too quickly in the midst of combat.
What does the rotation of skills look like? You start the fight with the Great Axe, use “Charge” on the opponent, and try to land 3 light attacks to charge the stacks of the passive effect “Greed”. If the opponent dodges these attacks, you use “Maelstrom” to pull him towards you.
Stay close to your opponent and continue using light attacks until you see the perfect moment and the opponent has no stamina left. Then pull him to you with “Gravity Well” and switch to the Axe.
There, use Feral Rush to immobilize the enemy and then Berserker and Raging Torrent to deal maximum damage. Here, too, it is useful to land 3 light attacks to further increase your damage.
Why is this combo played? The two magical weapons Fire Staff and Ice Gauntlet scale with the Intelligence attribute and deal a lot of damage. However, with this specific build, we focus not on AoE damage, but on targeted 1v1 fights or the attempt to snipe a specific enemy with high damage.
The Ice Gauntlet is especially important for defense in close combat and for freezing enemies.
How do I distribute the attributes? In the attributes, you focus on Intelligence to strengthen both weapons. Additionally, we recommend 150 points in Constitution to reduce incoming critical damage by 10%.
Which skills do I use with the Fire Staff? With the Fire Staff, you access both skill trees:
Fireball
Flame Burst
Burning
The Fireball is your main damage dealer in 1v1, and the Flame Burst is ideal to start a fight as it deals additional damage to targets at full health. Burning, on the other hand, is a more defensive ability that can deal good damage due to the burning effect.
The skill trees of the Fire Staff.
Which skills do I use with the Ice Gauntlet?
Ice Storm
Ice Shower
Ice Prison
Ice Storm and Ice Shower are ideal for dealing AoE damage and simultaneously slowing down opponents. With Ice Prison, you have an ability that makes you invulnerable when your hit points get low.
The skill trees of the Ice Gauntlet.
What does the gear look like? Ideal for PvP is the light 490 or 520 armor from your faction vendor. This provides you with the attributes Intelligence and Constitution, making it easy to achieve the right attributes.
Light armor also gives a 10% damage buff, which you should definitely take advantage of when playing this build.
What does the rotation of skills look like? In a ranged duel, you primarily use the Fire Staff and cast Fireball on cooldown to deal as much damage as possible. In between, you use Flame Burst on your opponent. With heavy attacks, you regain your mana during the wait period.
In large battles for conquest points, you use Fireball and Ice Storm and Ice Shower from the Ice Gauntlet.
If it comes to a melee duel, you use Ice Shower and a heavy attack to freeze your enemy with the passive effect “Heavy Freeze”. Additionally, the Ice Storm around you helps apply pressure to your opponent in melee. With Burning, you also have a useful ability to roll through the enemy and deal additional damage.
Thanks to the light armor, you generally have better dodging options than any melee fighter.
What do you think about the two builds? And how do you play in PvP? Feel free to let us know in the comments.

Twitch streamer QTCinderella caused a stir a few days ago during the stream of her partner Ludwig. What happened and what role a glass door played in it, you will find out here at MeinMMO.
Who is QTCinderella? QTCinderella, whose real name is Blaire, is the girlfriend of the well-known Twitch streamer Ludwig. She mainly streams in the areas of Just chatting or LoL.
Both live together in a shared apartment with three other roommates.
Who is Ludwig? The former Smash pro Ludwig Ahgren has been a larger streamer for some time, but he broke many records on Twitch with his Subathon in March 2021. For 30 days, he kept his stream running and filmed himself eating, sleeping, and gaming.
Every subscription extended his stream, and at the end of the 30 days, he had, instead of 30,000, a total of 283,061 paying subscribers on his channel. This is the highest number of subscribers that a streamer has ever had on Twitch.
This is how Ludwig experienced the incident in the stream: Blaire suddenly burst into Ludwig’s stream and mumbled something about breaking her nose. Ludwig abruptly ended the livestream after a few seconds and wanted to take care of his girlfriend.

He had to take QTCinderella to the emergency room because she ran full force into a glass door, he reports with laughter. In the image from the tweet, you can clearly see the imprint that QT left behind.
Blaire also sees it with humor and replies to her boyfriend’s tweet with: ‘Glass door: 1, me: 0’ (via Twitter).
Ludwig also gives all-clear: Blaire’s nose is not broken; she has a mild concussion and he asks his followers on Twitter to send her cute animal pictures.
Since both see the incident rather humorously, the community jokes with them under Ludwig’s tweet about it (via Twitter):
Cole Slaw threatens the glass door with an appropriate image: ‘Me confronting the door that hurt QT’ (via Twitter).
Kendall Foster understands the problem: ‘Yeah, my girlfriend also constantly runs into doors.’
DookyFace jokes: ‘The doors are too OP in this patch, 2/10.’
dev has completely different worries: ‘I hope the door is okay :(.’
In any case, QTCinderella had to hear a few jokes about this clumsiness.
Both took an extra day off to fully recover. Soon Ludwig and Blaire should be able to continue with their regular streams.
In Pokémon GO, the Raid Hour begins today, November 10th, featuring Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. We will show you the best counters, the time, and information about Shinies.
What kind of event is this? Every Wednesday evening, a Raid Hour starts in Pokémon GO. For you, this means that there are level 5 raids at almost every gym in the game. These are the legendary raids in Pokémon GO. So, you have a good chance to catch the coveted Pokémon.
Today’s event focuses on the Pokémon Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. We will show you the best counters and everything you need to know about them.
Raid Hour on November 10th – Start, Shinies, Counters
When does it start? As you already know from other events of this type, the Raid Hour begins at 6:00 PM. Although this time three bosses are in focus, the event lasts only one hour and ends at 7:00 PM.
Can you specifically look for bosses? Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion spawn randomly at the gyms. If you want to battle and catch only specific bosses, you should coordinate with your friends who can invite you to remote raids or use certain raid apps for assistance.
Which counters to use?
Against Cobalion: Fire, Fighting, and Ground Pokémon are key to success here. Use attackers like:
Against Virizion: Flying Pokémon are especially effective here. But also Fire, Ice, Poison, Psychic, and Fairy are helpful in the fight. Use attackers like:
(Crypto-) Moltres with Wing Attack and Sky Attack
(Crypto-) Honchkrow with Peck and Sky Attack
(Crypto-) Staraptor with Wing Attack and Brave Bird
(Crypto-) Ho-Oh with Hidden Power and Brave Bird
(Crypto-) Mewtwo with Confusion and Psystrike
(Crypto-) Zapdos with Thunder Shock and Drill Peck
Catching Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion as Shiny?
Can you catch the bosses as Shiny? Yes, you can catch any of the three bosses as Shiny. You need some luck for the shiny version of a boss to appear after the battle.
They are rare and for some trainers the motivation to participate in such a Raid Hour. In the following image, you can see the comparison of the normal versions of the bosses with the Shinies.
From top to bottom: Cobalion and its Shiny, Terrakion and its Shiny, Virizion and its Shiny
Is the Raid Hour worth it today?
How strong are the Pokémon?
Cobalion:
PvP: In the Master League it ranks in the lower midfield, in the Ultra League it ranks in the upper midfield. There are many better alternatives
PvE: In raids, Cobalion is unfortunately also only found in the midfield. Its average stats do not compare to other attackers. It is more of a niche Pokémon than a must-have.
Terrakion:
PvP: In PvP, the rock block has little to do. Its best field would be the Master League, and even there it ranks among the bottom tier with others like Chesnaught. Remember: You don’t want Terrakion for trainer battles. In raids, it’s a different story.
PvE: As a rock attacker, Terrakion is a strong choice for your team. While it may not be as strong as Rampardos, it can compete at the top of the PvE attackers. For this reason, Terrakion is part of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Virizion:
PvP: In trainer battles, Virizion ranks at best in the midfield. In the Ultra League it performs somewhat better than in the Master League, but is not outstanding.
PvE: As an attacker in raids, Virizion unfortunately has no significant impact. It has no particular moveset or stats that make Virizion strong. Use it for a Pokédex entry.
Which of the three bosses are you targeting during the Raid Hour today and which attackers are you using for that? Let us know here on MeinMMO in the comments and discuss with other players.

At that moment, I could hardly be more motivated. But I also couldn’t have been more wrong.
How quickly you advance the story is up to you
Breath-of-the-Wild Feeling and Ego Cracks
After the tutorial, I land back at the beginning of the tomb, which is quickly traversed. Friendly player hints like “No death ahead” quell initial fears, and it doesn’t take long until my enchanted knight steps into the light of Limgrave for the first time.
And yes: The first view of the open game world, with this huge energy tree in the background – it’s truly majestic. Apparently, other players feel the same: “Nice view ahead,” or “Ah, Elden Ring” some write on the ground. The gameplay video from a few days ago gives a good impression:

19 Minutes of Gameplay from Elden Ring – With Coop
I reach the first “site of grace”, where I recharge and which serves as a reset point if I should indeed die. I initially don’t waste any thought on this, as everything is going well. Even the NPC, who cheerfully informs me that I would die alone and forgotten somewhere here, doesn’t dampen the good mood.
I set off, and indeed a feeling akin to Zelda: Breath of the Wild “in grown-up” arises. There, nasty-looking yet fascinating creatures wander the paths, eagles take off from a rock into the heights, and you repeatedly find small groups of enemies to challenge. You look into the distance, spot a mountain peak, and think: “I should definitely wander over there when I have time.”
But time is currently lacking. We want to see how difficult the game is.
The First Real Fights – and the First Deaths
I passed by a knight, whom I send to the afterlife with my newly learned stealth abilities, or fight flying creatures that turn out to be a bit tricky but manageable. All in all, it goes unexpectedly smoothly.
Then I reach a first outpost. Encouraged by my previous experiences, I charge directly at the guard and attack with my spear. But: The guy pushes back.
After a brief skirmish, which forced me to resort to ranged combat and cost me my healing potions, the knight is defeated. Unfortunately, it seems that the camp noticed someone has been knocking unfriendlily. And against the next three fighters confronting me, I stand no chance.
I experience my first Elden Ring death. The first of many.
I was repeatedly overrun in the camp
Time and again, I attempt the camp. Two more frontal attacks fail, so I change my tactic. Like in Assassin’s Creed, I sneak through the tents and fences to eliminate enemies stealthily. But in the open path in the middle of the camp stands the chief, who can’t simply be assassinated. He survives my attack and elegantly dodges my spells afterwards. I hadn’t seen him before, and I didn’t expect it either. I died again.
I’ll spare you the further details. After several attempts, I thought: Oh well, outpost. Let’s move on, we want to see more of the beginning.
But it turns out: The camp was a good foretaste of what was to come.
My Encounter with Margit – Between Ambition, Frustration, and Pride
The further I progress, the more deaths accumulate. I get a mount that noticeably speeds up my traversal through the open world compared to my simple boots. With it, I reach a cliff and simply jump up – only to encounter a row of giants at the top. The result looks similar to attacking giants in Skyrim. So, back to the site of grace.
To progress in the story, I am supposed to climb a kind of mountain path upwards. However, it’s guarded by archers and another giant. It turns out: I don’t see how to deal with this in battle either.
Fortunately, I can hop on my mount and simply dash past everything. I race upwards, leaving the enemies behind. And looking at the number of opponents, I assume that this is even intended by the developers.
But at the next challenge, there’s no dashing past or sneaking by. Because after entering the fortress at the end of the path, I encounter a real boss of the game on a stone bridge. And I’ll tell you: “Margit, the Fell Omen” has absolutely nothing to do with the pathetic Soldier Godrick from the Cave of Knowledge.
Margit is a really, really tough nut
Margit does not wait for you to attack. Margit takes his giant staff, jumps into the air, and smashes your helmet to pieces. Margit also does not simply get hit, but rolls to the side or elegantly dodges. And when you think you’ve figured out Margit’s movement, the lunatic summons a monstrous energy hammer or conjures a blade in the other hand that makes acquaintance with your head.
Margit also has a health bar that remarkably absorbs damage – in stark contrast to mine, which is usually empty after three hits. To use a healing potion in between, you have to create a bit of time and space so you don’t get done in while drinking. Especially when, like me, you press the wrong buttons in all the chaos. Honestly, that seldom worked out.
I died. Often. And every time, the death ended with Margit’s phrase: “Bury these foolish ambitions.”
But my ambition was sparked. “Git Gud” and so.
I kept entering the mist to challenge Margit. And again and again, the guy smashed me. Here’s to the loading times of the PS5. If the intervals between fights had loaded longer, the controller would surely have ended up in the corner.
Occasionally, I thought I had it down – only to die again. This must have been similar to how Dr. Strange felt in his fight against Dormammu, if you know the movie. Only Margit unfortunately did not start to get bored.
I called for help, and to my delight, I received responses. Again and again, players came into my world to join me in battle against Margit. But even with two, the boss seemed unbeatable – until suddenly he wasn’t.
I caught a teammate who seemingly knew what he was doing. He attacked Margit consistently, without running into his death traps – while I was casting spells with my wand like crazy. And as Margit’s health bar lowered, I realized: This time it’s going to work.
And it truly did work.
Margit was defeated and I could hardly believe it. I actually got to move on! I was really damn proud – with a little blemish. Because somehow, I thought it felt a bit like cheating. Isn’t it precisely this challenge that Souls-like games are about?
However, I truly don’t know if, and if so when, I would have tackled this beast alone.
After the Margit battle comes the next challenge
Is it too hard?
After the big Margit duel, we continue in the castle, where you encounter numerous additional, smaller enemies. They are easier again but can still deal considerable damage if you become careless. That’s probably how it’s supposed to be: Not unfair, but a challenge.
The hints on the ground from other players save you from traps over and over again if you wish. A crazy creature that broke through a few decaying barrels with its scythe to split me in two, I had thankfully seen coming due to a warning. However, I didn’t expect a stupid knight shooting explosive arrows.
What I want to say: Those who play carefully and attentively will get through well here. Those who become careless will quickly find themselves back at the last save point. And that can sometimes be quite far away.
For me personally, the journey ended at a “strong opponent,” for whom there was a warning, but whom you had to defeat. He sent me back to the last site of grace so many times that I decided to leave it at that.
Is Elden Ring too hard for a Souls newbie? Based on my first assessment, I would say: It has moments that initially seem hardly doable. But the more you get into it, the better the fights become. An advantage is the coop support, which proved to be a rescue in my boss fight – if all else fails, you can rely on that.
Much more importantly: I believe Elden Ring is worth the effort. The fight, the effort. Because the game pulls you into its fascinating world right from the start – even if you don’t pick up much from the story just yet. I have laid aside my fear of Souls-like games and now have a lot of motivation to get better in order to explore the whole game.
Maybe I’ll get Demons Souls now as preparation. Because unfortunately, the release of Elden Ring is still a while away.
Max Handwerk Freelance author MeinMMO
MeinMMO author Max Handwerk was allowed to spend a few hours in “Elden Ring”. The excursion turned into an emotional rollercoaster of enthusiasm, motivation, fear, frustration, and pride. Here you get a first insight into the game.
Somewhere between “Oh dear” and “How cool is that?” – that was my first reaction when I was told that I should take a few steps in Elden Ring to write a little experience report.
…when it comes to Souls-like games – I was initially cautious. My previous experiences went like this: I bought Dark Souls long ago for the Xbox 360. I still remember mastering the beginning of the game, only to go the wrong way somewhere and repeatedly get torn apart by skeletons. Then I lost my bearings and experienced so much frustration that I gave up.
A similarly disappointing fate awaited me in Bloodborne, where I received a lot of enthusiasm from other players but couldn’t find any access myself.
With Sekiro, which I found grandiose in terms of setting, or the Demon’s Souls remaster as an exciting title for the PS5 launch – I didn’t even dare to approach. The only game that some would describe as Souls-like that I managed was “Jedi: Fallen Order”.
You can imagine: I approached Elden Ring with plenty of respect. Still, I was damn excited about what to expect.
The enchanted knight is my class of choice
First Steps and First Successes
This is how the journey begins: The test starts with the selection of your own class. The options were:
Warrior
Enchanted Knight
Prophet
Hero
Bloody Wolf
Although the “bloody wolf” grinned at me purely from a design perspective, I chose the “enchanted knight”. He seemed to provide the perfect combo of magic and melee – perfect for a fantasy journey.
Equipped with a spear, a wand, and a shield, I set off. Starting point: The anything but cozy and friendly “Tomb of a Hero of the Marginalized People”.
The dark cave feels oppressive and inhospitable, but at least you are not directly hacked to pieces by enemies. And: You are not completely alone. Because on the ground, you will find messages from other players repeatedly, providing hints about where something interesting might be hidden. Additionally, their ghosts sometimes wander around as a point of orientation. Also, you can see in the form of red “blood stain” ghosts where they met their end – also helpful when you want to avoid traps.
Thanks to these aids, you feel a little less abandoned. Moreover, the entry is facilitated by the “Cave of Knowledge” that we can reach at the beginning by making a bold jump into a deep hole. This leads not into the realm of fall damage but into a proper tutorial.
The cave offers just about everything you need in terms of basics: From the unsuspecting enemy that you can secretly eliminate (yes, stealth is an option in Elden Ring) to a few simply laid out soldiers that you can beautifully defeat in melee. I learn both how to send enemies to hell with magic and the jump attack and block-counter mechanics.
At the very end, you even encounter a “Soldier Godrick” – and to my personal horror, he has a health bar stretching across the entire bottom of the screen. “Now it’s time,” I think: The notorious Dark Souls death trap snaps shut. But no: A few counters, and the colleague bites the dust.
This was unexpected but also boosted my confidence. “Ha,” I thought, “If I can even take down this boss without any problems, then the rest should pose hardly any more significant problems.”
At that moment, I could hardly be more motivated. But I also couldn’t have been more wrong.

The MMO New World is suffering from player decline after a fantastic release. This is currently the biggest problem for many players in the MMO. Without players, many activities become impossible. Although New World plans to merge servers, it is not happening quickly enough for players.
What is New World’s biggest problem right now? In the eyes of many players, New World is currently suffering because there are too few players online at the same time on many servers. However, New World is designed as an MMO to have a populated server.
Through the free server transfers it seems that some players are now switching from rather empty servers to the populated ones. This exacerbates the problem on the servers with few players.
“My Server is Unplayable”
On platforms like reddit some players are now expressing their opinions on the effects of massive player decline on their server:
User Trevorjrt6 says: My server is becoming very unplayable very quickly. Every town is being downgraded to level 2 or 3, after the majority were at 4 and 5. If this continues, we soon won’t be able to craft anything in the endgame. The game requires an active server, otherwise the systems collapse. This needs to be priority number one, it’s more important than fixing any other bug.
Jeremy9931 says: His server is down to a maximum of 300 people, after the large guilds left with the server transfer. The towns would be downgraded and the invasions aren’t filling up: “Send halp plz,” he pleads.
Mojo 2241 says: “Oh God, I just checked my server and it’s only at 9% capacity with 177 people.”
Is this a problem in Germany as well? We had an article on MeinMMO on Sunday stating that New World plans to merge servers. Many recognize the problem in the comments:
Threepwood writes: “I also transferred to a full server. On my old server, there were on average 1000 players active, which is simply too few if you don’t want to be stuck in queues forever. […] At least Outpost should have them queue per server pool, that would already ease some of the stress.”
A user with barcode names says: “The system scales terribly poorly. If there are more, too few can participate, and players miss out. If there are a few less, it’s not enough to function well, it’s going to turn into a bigger problem sooner or later.”
What’s next? Amazon has announced that server mergers are “on the horizon.” However, they want to be cautious, as much has gone wrong in the past.
For players stuck on a “dead server,” it seems that the server transfers cannot come quickly enough. They are urging Amazon to hurry in posts: The game simply isn’t fun anymore.
More exciting articles about the future of New World:
What is the problem? New World has “many players” in absolute terms, but they have “too few players for the many servers” that they opened during the turbulent release phase by the dozen.
New World really seems designed to have a specific number of players per server: If there are too many players on a server, there are long queues and frustration. If there are too few, many activities are not possible in the game.
On the other hand, these “limited servers” give the game a unique feeling, really playing in a world where many others are known. That’s exactly the MMORPG feeling that many have missed in modern MMORPGs.
Now Amazon has to quickly find a way to solve this problem.
The “dead server” syndrome seems to have worsened through “server transfers.”
There are now also some players who praise Amazon and see New World as improved:
The Twitch streamer Asmongold wanted to join the “WoW Community Council”, but was rejected by Blizzard. No wonder, considering how he wrote his application.
Although the Twitch streamer Asmongold has spent more time lately with Final Fantasy XIV instead of World of Warcraft, he still clings to Blizzard’s MMORPG. No wonder, after all, he has repeatedly stated that he loves the game and hopes to enjoy it again someday when Blizzard fixes the issues.
Blizzard has now launched the “Community Council” project – and Asmongold applied for it, but in a pretty cheeky manner.
The player council is supposed to give Blizzard many perspectives for WoW
What is the Community Council? The Community Council of World of Warcraft is an initiative launched by Blizzard. It aims to find various representatives from all possible areas of gaming to engage with the developers and the rest of the community.
It should be a way to consolidate feedback and involve the community more in the development of World of Warcraft. Ideally, this will lead to a better game and a more pleasant atmosphere between developers and players.
Asmongold complains about boring, bad content in WoW
What did Asmongold do? When Asmongold heard about the project, he immediately wrote his own application. However, as one might expect from him and his streams, it was peppered with coarse language and some accusations. He read his full application in one of his recent videos.
In the application, Asmongold complains mainly that the “Completionist Content” has become increasingly tedious and absurd. He refers to achievements that are particularly strenuous just for the sake of being strenuous. For example, he comments on the achievements from Warlords of Draenor:
In summary, I find that completionist content is unfulfilling, boring, repetitive and bad. But it wasn’t always like this. I believe we started to see achievements in WoD that were just tasks to waste time.
2,000 Pet Battles in Draenor. Why? What kind of garbage is that? The goal is so huge, so far away, that it borders on madness to pursue it. You don’t want people to feel dumb for trying to achieve your achievements. And how can one not feel dumb trying to achieve 2,000 Pet Battles in Draenor?

Asmongold felt similarly about the meta-achievements for archaeology, which became particularly annoying in WoD:
Flawless artifacts in archaeology? Praise the Lord you didn’t have archaeology in Shadowlands (even though that was actually a big mistake considering all the lore you could have brought with archaeology in Shadowlands). Otherwise, we would be farming ‘Primal Flawless Artifacts’ right now. I’m sure whenever we would trade those in, we would have then received 20 boxes of restored artifacts instead of the usual 5 or 10 for regular flawless artifacts.
Take a look at the Draenor meta-achievement for flawless artifacts and tell me that this piece of crap is not the first step into a psychiatric facility.
More news about World of Warcraft can be found here:
What happened to Asmongold’s application? When Asmongold later checked the status of his application, he received the message that “his ticket was closed” and there was no response to it. He was apparently rejected with this application – or at least that’s what Asmongold claims.
The attempt to apply was probably more of a planned joke and a setup for a video rather than a serious attempt to truly join the Community Council. Even if Asmongold makes some valid points, the text was written in such a way that a rejection was essentially predetermined.
What do you think of Asmongold’s application? A good joke? Or a wasted opportunity to really make some changes to WoW?

On November 1, 2021, the new Update 32 Deadlands for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online was released. MeinMMO author MiezeMelli introduces you to the most important changes and explains what this means for you.
The latest Update 32 Deadlands belongs to the zone DLCs. This means you get a new area with this DLC, or in this specific case, even two. The story continues from the main quest of the chapter Blackwood.
However, you don’t necessarily need to have played Blackwood to directly start the story in the Deadlands. For the additional final quest series, however, you do need it. The order does not matter for unlocking this quest.
Additionally, some features have been added to the base game, which we want to address first.
1. The Introduction of the Arsenal System
With the new tool, you can now save your builds, which means equipment, skills, and Champion Points. You can also optionally add a disguise or a curse (Vampire or Werewolf).
2 slots for compositions are free.
Another Arsenal slot costs 1,500 Crowns in the Crown Store. However, be aware that the slots are not cross-character.
For many PC players, the “new tool” is not really something new. For many years, players have been able to save and call their various builds using add-ons. A significant advantage of this variant is that it is free. You can save as many builds as you want.
Furthermore, you can use them anywhere. The Arsenal system can only be accessed through an Arsenal table or an Arsenal assistant (available for 5,000 Crowns in the Crown Store).
The point where the Arsenal system differs from add-on functions is the selection of a curse for individual builds. You can turn the Vampire or Werewolf on and off as you wish. You can also save different modifications of a skill.
You wouldn’t have to reset your skills for gold anymore. Ultimately, it’s a matter of weighing which of the two options you choose. For console players, the Arsenal system with the 2 free slots is a helpful addition to the base game.
Here’s a summary of the pros and cons:
Pro
Switching between curses (Vampire & Werewolf)
Using various modifications of abilities without gold cost
New tool for console players
Contra
Highly expensive for many builds
Slots not cross-character
There is a free alternative for PC players
Currently, there is a free Arsenal table available in the Crown Store. You can place this in your home. I would recommend every player to take this free item and take a look at the Arsenal system. Anyone who wants to buy more slots later can do so optionally.
If you prefer to stay with add-ons, you can continue to do so. Here’s an overview of the different options:
My personal favorite is Wizard’s Wardrobe because you can also save Champion Points and the add-on automatically switches sets for different bosses, etc.
2. Curated Chance for Item Sets
Previously, you received purely random loot. This is now changing, at least partially regarding your collection and item sets. With Update 32, you have an increased chance to get weapons, equipment, or jewelry pieces that are still missing from your collection.
You should be able to complete your collection faster in the future.
Tip: If you need a specific item, team up with a player who only lacks that one item in the collection. Since they have an increased chance for this item and nothing else is left, it is likely that you will also get that exact item.
3. Hard Cap for Critical Damage
So far, you could increase critical damage indefinitely through sets and buffs. This is now over, as a hard cap for critical damage was introduced with the update. The limit is set at exactly 125%.
Theoretically, you could still equip gear that would continue to increase it. But in combat, only 125% is taken into account. So, it is not worth focusing solely on critical damage as before.
What does this mean for my build? Take a thorough look at your character and consider whether you want to change your gear or Champion Points. Be mindful of buffs and passive abilities. For more details, check out this article:
The sets and their bonuses that are currently in the game have been further adjusted:
Sets that granted either Magic or Weapon Power now grant both
Sets that granted Physical or Magic Penetration now grant both
Sets that granted critical Magic or Weapon hits now grant critical hits in general
This makes many sets interesting again for characters using the other attribute. For example, the set Mother’s Tear is now not only interesting for Magicka DDs but can also be used by Stamina DDs.
These set changes currently result in many players farming the set Kinras’ Wrath (Black Drake Villa) like crazy. This is a medium armor set that has become interesting for Magicka DDs due to the described change. Here’s an overview of the set bonuses:
(2 items) Grants 121 Magic & Weapon Power
(3 items) Grants 618 rating for critical hits
(4 items) Grants 121 Magic & Weapon Power
(5 items) When you deal damage with a light or heavy attack, you gain 5 seconds of up to 5 stack Burning Heart. While you have 5 stacks, you radiate an Aura of Wrath. You gain Berserk, increasing your damage dealt by 10%. While you have an Aura of Wrath, allies within 12 meters gain Minor Berserk, increasing their damage dealt by 5%.
5. New Areas: Fargrave and the Deadlands
Update 32 is a zone DLC. Thus, ESO receives two new areas. Both areas are located outside of Nirn. You may already know something similar from the areas of Coldharbour, Artaeum, and the Clockwork City.
Fargrave is an area where the known races coexist with the Dremora and trade peacefully. The whole city resembles a giant bazaar with winding alleys. It sparkles everywhere, and the glittering items quickly attract attention with their bright colors.
The Bazaar of Fargrave. A truly unique and worth seeing place in ESO.
The Deadlands, on the other hand, are pretty much the opposite of Fargrave. It is a bleak and hostile environment. Bare rocks are inhabited by hostile daedric creatures, and every now and then, a lightning strike booms loudly next to you.
And of course, there’s also a concluding quest line for the “Gates of Oblivion” story in the areas, as well as several side quests.
There are also some Sky Shards to discover again. They will now also be displayed on your compass as soon as you approach one of the shards. After collecting, you will also find a symbol on your map.
Coming soon is the livestream for Patch 2.3 of Genshin Impact. This update seems to only feature male characters, and even players who usually prefer female figures are totally celebrating it. MeinMMO reports for you on why the two new male heroes and the patch are so popular.
Which two new characters are we talking about? It’s about the muscular Arataki Itto and the cute Gorou. When Genshin Impact announced the two heroes on Twitter some time ago, it took no more than 30 minutes, and they were already trending with thousands of tweets.
The two collected retweets and likes in record time, outpacing the announcement of the universally popular female character Raiden Shogun. While Raiden had gathered around 24,000 retweets and 90,000 likes (via Twitter), Itto already has 103,000 retweets and 259,000 likes (via Twitter).
Gorou had been able to gather more interactions than Raiden Shogun, but Genshin deleted the old tweets from him and wrote new ones, as they changed something about Gorou’s artwork (via Twitter). As a result, he currently only has about 9,000 retweets and 75,000 likes (via Twitter).
The last two announcements regarding upcoming female characters were also not rated as strongly as Itto’s and Gorou’s. Priestess Kokomi managed just 15,000 retweets and 72,000 likes (via Twitter), while Fireworks Master Yoimiya at least garnered 34,000 retweets and 131,000 likes (via Twitter).
However, there is a third in the hyped male group: Albedo is likely to return in Patch 2.3. Previously, there were only leaks and speculations, but Albedo is visible in Genshin Impact’s announcement tweet, making a rerun very likely (via Twitter).
When and where is the livestream? The livestream will take place on November 12 at 1 PM. It will be streamed on Genshin Impact’s Twitch channel (via Twitch).
Reasons for the hype of the two new male characters
Why are players excited about the male heroes? There could be three main reasons for the joy about the characters. The first is probably that since the release of Inazuma, there haven’t been any new male 5-star figures, which is why the hype around Itto is so big.
was introduced as a new male 4-star character in Patch 2.2. He also earned quite a bit of fame and hype by collecting around 47,000 retweets and 145,000 likes on Twitter (via Twitter). This shows that players do indeed want more male heroes like Gorou and Itto and not just a flood of waifus.
What are waifus and husbandos? The words are derived from the English terms “wife” (=Ehefrau) and “husband” (=Ehemann). These terms are primarily used for characters one particularly likes and that belong to one’s absolute favorites. Waifu and Husbando are especially used for fictional characters, as in anime, manga, or games in cartoon style.
Overall, there are 28 female and 13 male playable characters in the game. Therefore, it can be understood why some fans are so focused on the men. The first reason would be the imbalance and the lack of male characters.
Both characters possess the Geo element.
The second reason is probably simply the currently unique appearance of the two newcomers. So far, there are no characters that are built like Itto or are a mix of dog and human like Gorou.
While many fans want to touch Gorou’s fluffy ears, the rest crave Itto’s washboard abs and muscles.
This is how the community reacted to Itto and Gorou:
The third reason would be the element of the two. Because the Geo element is represented the least with a total of 4 characters. The others exist in this amount:
Pyro: 10
Cryo: 9
Electro: 7
Anemo: 6
Hydro: 5
Furthermore, Gorou is the first Geo hero who wields a bow as a weapon. Many fans are particularly taken with him because of that.
Itto and Gorou could bring a boost for Geo with their abilities and make it significantly stronger. What exactly skills they have is not yet officially known. This will be revealed in the livestream on Friday, and we from MeinMMO will, of course, report on it.
Even Albedo’s rerun is receiving a lot of praise: Since Albedo was last available at Christmas in 2020 and many players were still newcomers then or had not played Genshin Impact at all, they are happy to finally have the opportunity to pull for the strong Geo sub-DPS.
Under the tweet from Genshin Impact, there are some celebrating players (via Twitter):
616chive proudly posts his 130 pulls and writes: “Thanks, I’m ready for Albedo.”
Also, tash has farmed diligently and offers 9 pulls and 30,000 primogems: “Pspspspsps, Albedo, come on.”
Ei_en_Ni goes completely wild and gets plenty of approval:
YESSSSS ALBEDO RERUN IS RLLY HAPPENGING GUYSSSS IN 2.3 TO ALL ALEBDO WANTERS!! WE WON!!! OUR WAIT WILL BE WORTH IT!! AAAAAAAAAA ALL ALBEDO WANTERS WILL BE ALBEDO HAVERS SOON! GOODLUCK TO ALL OF US AND STAY STRONG GUYS!! pic.twitter.com/uL6qtqIPxu
— Albedo rerun in 2.3 is REAL! WE WON ALBEDO WANTERS (@Ei_en_Ni) November 10, 2021
Even waifu fans celebrate the husbando patch
While huge amounts of money and primogems have flowed into the last banners of the strong women Hu Tao, Raiden Shogun, and Ayaka (via genshinlab), many now reportedly have to save. They see the patch as a great opportunity to gather resources for future female characters.
They have no issue with the fact that the husbando craze has broken out and are taking a break from banner pulls until the next heroines are available.
Under the reddit thread with the official livestream announcement, players make the following statements (via reddit):
iRhyiku says: “Nice, now I feel less bad for spending all my primogems on the 1st constellation for Hu Tao and the Homa staff.”
lukichi cheers: “Good luck husbando simps! Let’s let the waifu simps rest.”
Ritsuka-San notes that those who want Ganyu are probably sad, but DarkKnight53 responds with approval from some users: “Shhh, I haven’t saved enough yet.”
Patch 2.3 of Genshin Impact is eagerly awaited by many fans, and they are looking forward to the banners. But what do you think about it? Are you part of the “Saving” or “Spending” faction in the upcoming update? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments.
Battlefield 2042 is coming soon, its release is just around the corner. Which specialists will you play in the shooter? Let us know.
This is how specialists work in Battlefield 2042: Specialists form the class system in Battlefield. They are initially divided into 4 categories, each having its own role on the battlefield and the corresponding skills to perform that role:
Assault Soldier – Mobile soldier for the front
Support – Support unit, also medic
Engineer – Responsible for heavy equipment
Recon – Scouts out or disrupts enemies
While there are certain restrictions on what weapons each class can use, they are less than in earlier Battlefield titles.
The classes then split into the specialists. These have their own active and passive abilities that differ from other characters. Some have a motion sensor, others can deploy drones to gather information for them.
Depending on your preferred playstyle, you can choose corresponding specialists. And when you play some rounds of Battlefield with your friends, you can pay attention to synergies between the specialists in your group to effectively take down your opponents in combat.
All information about the specialists in Battlefield 2042 can be found here:
Here’s how you can vote: Your choice can be made as always in the polling tool below. Since Battlefield 2042 will launch with 10 different specialists, you can select up to three different ones as your favorites. However, the vote cannot be undone once you have cast your vote.
So go ahead! Which specialists will you start with in Battlefield 2042? Do you already know exactly who it will be or do you want to try several out first? Do you prefer to focus on one specialist while playing or enjoy playing all over the place? Let us know in the comments.

Riot Games is the gaming studio that utilizes the streaming platform Twitch perfectly. The finale of the LoL Worlds 2021 in League of Legends was watched by even more people worldwide at its peak than Sony’s PS5 presentation. Riot Games successfully promoted its online shooter Valorant through Twitch and is now even pushing a Netflix hit with Arcane.
How big was the LoL Worlds 2021 on Twitch?
According to Axios, the finale of the LoL Worlds on November 6 had a total of 3,111,854 viewers at its peak simultaneously on Twitch.
How is that possible? League of Legends is years ahead of comparable titles as an “E-sport” title. Riot Games has installed a professional show with casters who also act as influencers, with analysis and interviews on the sidelines for years.
They elevate the players being broadcast, bring emotions into the game, and convey a lot of knowledge about LoL, the teams, and the players to the viewers.
During the action at the LoL Worlds, the casters got excited:

Over time, real legends form around players and teams. It doesn’t matter that all the big stars right now are South Koreans or Chinese and that players and teams from the West have hardly any say internationally.
Throughout the year, players in the USA and Europe cheer for their teams – during the last 2 weeks of the LoL year, they just watch from the sidelines as the superstars from Asia compete for the world championship title.
LoL is discussed like basketball or soccer. Many fans speculate where the big stars from Europe, North America, and Asia will play next year. Fans have their favorite teams and favorite players. There’s regularly some drama: LoL is not just exciting when being played, but also everything around it.
In 2020, Riot Games already used Twitch to make Valorant a hit
This is how Riot Games utilized Twitch for Valorant: How well Riot Games understood the Twitch platform was evident in 2020 with their shooter Valorant.
It wasn’t an incredibly exciting game: a tactical shooter like Counter-Strike with some elements of Overwatch. Valorant was designed from the start as a hardcore e-sports shooter.
Riot Games knows YouTube too: A video of the fictional LoL group K/DA has 470 million views.
This is how they are now using Twitch for Arcane: At the end of 2021 Riot Games ventures with “Arcane” on Netflix. Again, they used Twitch to promote the show – especially since the LoL Worlds were approaching, this was a perfect opportunity:
Riot Games made Arcane part of the LoL Worlds 2021 and streamed the first episode on Riot Games’ Twitch channel.
They also used Twitch Drops again to promote the show further.
According to numbers from Axios, Arcane reached about 1.84 million concurrent viewers at its peak through Twitch and viewing parties. This really gave the series a boost. The result is number 1 on Netflix in 38 countries.
What’s behind it: Even at Riot Games, not everything is perfect. Internally, they have had many problems: They went through the sexism scandal years ago, which Blizzard is currently grappling with. Players have always complained about LoL and Valorant and will always find something they don’t like: sometimes a hero is too strong, sometimes too weak. And there’s always something missing.
Despite all the criticism: how Riot Games manages to present their titles and use Twitch for it is truly exemplary and shows how in touch Riot Games is with current trends.
In the future, Riot Games wants to develop many more games:
New World now offers participation in test servers (PTR). We will show you how to join the PTR of New World on Steam and what you need to pay attention to.
What is the PTR? New World offers you the opportunity to try out new features and content earlier than other players with the Public Test Realm (PTR). You can create your characters there with appropriate equipment and level.
Starting from November 10, the PTR for New World will begin. We will show you what you can do there and how to download the PTR.
This is how the PTR servers work – Download, Availability, Server Status
Download of the PTR client: Anyone who owns a copy of New World can find the application “New World Public Test Realm” in their Steam library at the start of the PTR servers. Once you download the client, you can play the latest preview version of the next patch for New World.
Keep in mind that this is a standalone client that will also require space on your hard drive. Access to the PTR is not guaranteed. If the capacities are full, there may be queues.
When are the servers online? The PTR servers of New World will go online for the first time on November 10 at 8:00 PM German time. You will find one world for the East Coast of the USA and for Central Europe.
After the test is complete, the servers will be down. All worlds will be shut down and deleted.
In your Steam library, you will still find the client for the PTR. However, when you start it, you will not find any worlds outside of tests, and you cannot play there.
How can I transfer my characters to the PTR? This function does not exist. You will play there with characters that you create specifically for the PTR.
For that, you will receive aids such as level-ups and special equipment.
Why play there? The goal of these test servers is to find bugs and issues before patches are installed for all players on the live servers. In the PTR forum of New World, you can report any bugs, exploits, or issues you encounter, or simply provide tips and feedback for improvement. In-game, there is also a tool that you can use to report.
Amazon emphasizes that they focus on improving quality. Thus, tracking down bugs, discovering exploits, and reporting additional gameplay issues.
I don’t feel like PTR, how do I delete it? There are some players who place a lot of value on a tidy library on Steam. If the entry for the PTR bothers you and you do not want to participate anyway, you can hide the application.
To hide unwanted games on Steam: Right-click on the application, then “Manage” and then “Hide this game” – you won’t see it in the library anymore.
How do you like the option of PTR servers in New World? Do you think it’s good and have you been waiting for a way to try new content earlier and to search for bugs? Or would you rather leave it to the other players and still be happy that such a server exists?
Let us know your opinion on the topic here on MeinMMO in the comments and discuss it with the community.

The Quest Mage in Hearthstone is in trouble. Its final reward will be massively weakened to allow for more counterplay.
Although Hearthstone just released the mini-set “The Death Mines”, many players are currently bored with the current meta. Particularly in the lower ranks, where most players are, the matches often feel similar. This is mainly due to the “Quest Mage”, a currently very popular archetype that is also causing boredom.
What is changing? Blizzard is weakening the final reward of the Mage Quest “Wizard’s Gambit”, the minion “Spell Assassin Duskgrip”. From now on, his Battlecry will only increase spell damage by 2 for the rest of the game instead of 3.
What are the implications? The effectiveness of the quest reward is reduced by 33% with this change. As a result, the Mage will require more spells to reduce the opponent’s health points and achieve victory. It may also become sensible to include a few minions in the deck or to consider alternative strategies for the deck to gain additional spell damage in other ways.
Why was the deck nerfed? In fact, the “Quest Deck” for the Mage is not that incredibly successful. Especially at higher ranks, the deck often loses relevance and is quickly crushed by better decks. Currently, on the analysis site HSReplay.net, the win rate of this deck is only 48.69% and thus quite far behind the Aggro Druid (an incredible 62.07%) or the Quest Warrior (57.79%) – as of 10.11.2021, 11:30 Uhr.
In the lower ranks, however, it feels like every other match is against a Quest Mage, leading to boredom. Often, Mages can complete their quest as early as turn 5 or 6 and quickly play out the Spell Assassin Duskgrip against less optimized decks.
This is followed by the ability to overwhelm the opponent with spells within 2 turns, reducing their health from 30 to 0 without being able to do anything about it.
This leads to little fun in gameplay, which is why many players immediately give up when facing a Mage.
Why is Blizzard nerfing it anyway? That Blizzard is nerfing this quest line, even though the win rate is not that high, likely has a simple reason: The games are boring. Blizzard explained some time ago that nerfs are generally made when at least one of two factors is met:
A deck proves to be too strong.
A deck bores the community because it occurs too often over a long period and does not provide exciting gameplay.
Apparently the second reason has now occurred, and Blizzard is taking action.
When will the patch be released? There is no exact date yet, but Blizzard has announced it for “early next week”. It will likely happen on November 15 or 16. So players wanting to enjoy the full strength of the Quest Mage should hurry.
Players who play Mage and are annoyed by the adjustment can exchange the quest card directly for the full dust cost after the nerf – as is standard with nerfs in Hearthstone.
What do you think about the change to the Quest Mage?

In FIFA 22, Season 2 in FUT starts tomorrow. This also affects the FUT Champions Play-Offs – especially if you are right in the middle of it.
When does Season 2 in Ultimate Team start? The new Season 2 in FUT starts on Thursday, November 11, at 09:00 AM. Until then, you still have time to collect wins for milestone rewards or earn XP for seasonal progress. But: You should also keep an eye on your FUT Champions Play-Offs.
This is what is important in the Play-Offs: As the developers explained in a short video about Season 2, progress in the current FUT Champions Play-Offs will be reset as soon as the new season starts. Literally, it says:
If you are in an incomplete Play-Off when Season 1 ends, your progress will be reset to 0 matches played. You remain in the Play-Offs, but you have to restart and replay all your games. If you are now in the FUT Champions Play-Offs or plan to start one before the end of the season but want to ensure that you get all the rewards you have earned up to that point: Make sure to complete all your games before the end of Season 1 or use the option to end your Play-Offs early, so you can claim all the rewards you have earned up to that point.
What does this mean for players in the FUT Champions Play-Offs?
You should note: Let’s say you want to register for the upcoming Weekend League, you have already collected 4 wins in the Play-Offs for that and are close to qualification.
In that case, you should urgently collect the remaining points needed for qualification today or at the latest by around 08:50 AM on Thursday. Otherwise, your collected wins will be in vain.
Everything after 09:00 AM on Thursday is too late.
You are entering the Weekend League? Then check this out:
On the other hand: If you can already foresee that your currently started FUT Champions Play-Offs will not be enough to get into the Weekend League, it might be worth simply waiting for the season to start. Then you should be reset to 0 and can try again.
If you want to start a Play-Off round today that you haven’t redeemed yet: Think carefully about whether you can find the time to complete all required games before the start of Season 2. Otherwise, it might be better to start tomorrow after the reset.
The Battle Royale Warzone is getting a new map and many fresh weapons after the transition to the graphics engine of Call of Duty: Vanguard. MeinMMO has taken a look at the arsenal of the new CoD and discovered 3 weapons that could wreak havoc in Warzone.
With the new Call of Duty: Vanguard, not only is the new CoD generation starting – a lot is changing in the Battle Royale Warzone this year, including almost 40 new weapons.
As Warzone also adopts the graphics engine of Vanguard, the weapons currently played in multiplayer will likely be carried over to Warzone. We have sifted through the weapon stats and show you 3 firearms that should be enjoyable in Warzone.
What kind of weapon is the BAR? The assault rifle is calm and has a very low rate of fire. However, this helps with control, and the BAR is the easiest assault rifle to handle.
What makes it so strong? Assault rifles with pleasant recoil have always been a case for Warzone. But the BAR also offers you a ammunition conversion that increases the base damage to 68 per hit. With a fire rate of about 360 rounds/minute, the BAR achieves a time-to-kill of 495 milliseconds, placing it second among assault rifle TTKs.
Only the AS VAL with its mini-magazines would be stronger, but the BAR has a similar issue – with this ammunition, you only have a maximum of 30 rounds in the magazine.
2. Sniper Three-Line Rifle – 2 Shots to the Chest
What kind of weapon is the Three-Line Rifle? The sniper rifle is the slowest sniper of Vanguard and shines with high lethality even on body shots.
What makes it so strong? Exciting for Warzone could particularly be a crazy magazine. The “.30-06 20-round magazine” increases the base damage of the weapon to 128 per hit, and it only takes 2 shots to the chest, possibly even to the belly, to drop enemies. Headshots should also deliver a one-shot kill as usual.
Additionally, the magazine holds 20 rounds, giving you a lot of time before you need to reload. The downside is the slow rate of fire – even though you only need 2 hits, the time-to-kill is 1.5 seconds.
3. LMG DP27 – Shaky but Deadly
What kind of weapon is the DP27? The machine gun is a unruly beast with considerable damage and the iconic top-mounted drum magazines.
What makes it so strong? Even with our third discovery, it is an ammunition conversion that provides the decisive boost. With the “.30-06 Drum Magazine (81 rounds)” you deal 42 damage per hit with a fire rate of nearly 730 rounds/minute. The time-to-kill is therefore at a very strong 410 milliseconds.
However, the DP27 comes with considerable recoil for this damage. It remains to be seen whether the difficult control is worth the high damage.
How the weapon meta will change after the transition to the Vanguard engine cannot be predicted with certainty yet. It is clear that the 40 new weapons will cause a stir, and especially the many customization options with 10 attachments at the same time and the new types of ammunition present a powder keg for the meta. We will see if the keg blows up.
The Twitch streamer Yilang “Doublelift” Peng has long been the probably best-known player of League of Legends in North America. He became champion 8 times in the LCS – 4 times with “Team SoloMid”, the largest LoL organization in the world. But now the LoL legend says: He hates TSM, he has especially one problem with the boss, Reginald. He responds to him and shows disappointment. Moreover, he fires him.
This is Doublelift:
The 28-year-old has won the LCS 8 times. He is regarded as the greatest and most popular LoL player in North America alongside Bjergsen and is probably the best ADC in the USA of all time.
Doublelift has always had a strained relationship with TSM: For a long time, he wanted to beat the famed team, then he won 3 championships with them, but was fired, swore to destroy them, and indeed won 4 championships against TSM with Team Liquid in 2018 and 2019.
Doublelift publicly flames TSM and especially boss Reginald
This is what Doublelift says now: In a Twitch stream, Doublelift is pretty upset about TSM. He now believes he was basically kicked out as a player.
From his perspective, TSM told him they wouldn’t get his desired player, SwordArt, but then signed him after Doublelift announced that he no longer wanted to play as a pro.
“Honestly, I hate TSM, especially because of Andy”
Doublelift
Doublelift says: He wanted to play with the supporter SwordArt in 2021. He says, SwordArt had also promised him that he wanted to join TSM to play with him. The boss of the team, Andy “Reginald” Dinh, however, literally rejected this.
Doublelift mentions: Andy has too big an ego, he is just embarrassing now.
According to Doublelift, TSM would have qualified for the Worlds in 2020 with him in the bot lane.
Instead, TSM relied on a young New Zealander, Lawrence “Lost” Hui, and missed the qualification.

TSM says: Doublelift simply can’t make up his mind
This is what Reginald says: The so-criticized team owner, Andy “Reginald” Dinh, formerly a mid laner at Team SoloMid, commented on the criticism on reddit . He says:
Doublelift is indeed one of the best players of all time in North America, but it is also difficult to work with him.
Before 2021, after Bjergsen’s retirement, Doublelift had considered retiring as well. Later he reconsidered and demanded reinforcements for the team. As a result, TSM scrapped their plans to acquire talent, signed German PowerOfEvil for the mid lane, and looked for a strong supporter from Korea. Doublelift found the suggestions okay.
When it seemed like they couldn’t get SwordArt, Doublelift threatened to leave the team if the roster didn’t meet his expectations. Suddenly, he wanted a team where everyone spoke English.
At that time, TSM was under pressure and running out of options. They decided to focus fully on the young ADC Lost and no longer plan with Doublelift.
Even after they were able to sign SwordArt, TSM remained with the decision and expressed their trust in the young ADC.
Reginald says: These are decisions that the whole team made, not just he alone.
Andy “Reginald” Dinh.
TSM fires Doublelift, criticizes him sharply
This is how it will proceed now: Doublelift is currently considering whether he should stop streaming on Twitch and perhaps return to playing as a pro.
TSM, however, gives him a clear rejection: He constantly changes his mind, plus he publicly flames people and team members and coaches don’t want to play with Doublelift anyway.
Therefore, TSM is no longer interested in playing with Doublelift, even though he is one of the best ADCs North America has ever had.
TSM says they also want to let him go as a Twitch streamer. Reginald believes the public attack from Doublelift comes because they do not want to sign him as a pro player anymore.
What do the fans say about it? The top comment on reddit is:
“You know what would really piss him off? If we got Chovy or Knight and Keria. That would show him, I swear!”
Doublelift also retired after 2020 and wants to play professionally again in 2022 – apparently he would like to play for TSM, but TSM does not want him.
In fact, Doublelift and Bjergsen are two of the biggest names in US LoL. But both are probably also more or less clearly past their peak.
Both players will probably find a team that pays them because they bring fans and viewers, but whether both will be competing for championships again is another question.
TSM probably has money for expensive new signings:
In Fortnite, there is the Creative mode, which is used by many players. With it, you can play maps created by the community together with friends. But many players use the mode for something completely different: they farm easy experience points (XP). What changes for you now is explained here at MeinMMO.
What method is it about? It is about AFK farming of XP. Many players log into the lobby of Creative mode, to get a lot of XP with little effort. For this, you only need to be in the Creative hub. There you can just stand around idly and gain a boost of experience points every 15 minutes.
This apparently bothered Epic Games. Therefore, they are now making sure that you can no longer easily exploit this method to gain experience points in Fortnite.
Leakers talk about an AFK detection system in the next update
What does that mean? iFireMonkey, a well-known leaker from Fortnite, confirms that the Creative mode will get an detection system for AFK players. This means that you can no longer just stand around in the lobby and get free XP without doing anything.

How does XP work in Creative mode instead? Content creators can determine how much XP you will receive for achievements in their maps. This means you can for example get 25,000 experience points after surviving 15 levels in a 100-level death run. To do this, the creators must place so-called “reward devices”. With these, they can set the amount of XP.
Epic also sets limits here to prevent abuse. It could happen that a creator sets so many XP that you reach level 100 immediately. Epic wants to prevent this. With this device, an as yet unknown amount of experience points can be set. However, this limit cannot be exceeded.
Maps that do not host such a device will continue to have an invisible timer. After 15 minutes of active play, you will receive your earned points for your battle pass.
When does this mechanic come into effect? The leakers assume that an update on November 16 will bring this change. The patch in Fortnite is to be released as “Update 18.40”.
What does the community think about it? The reactions are clear. Many players are dismayed that Epic is taking this step. Many players use this method to level up their battle pass because it is safe and straightforward.
Players are now complaining that they only have time to collect XP on Saturdays and are wondering how they will manage to get to level 100 or 200 now (via. Twitter). It remains to be seen whether players will still find an alternative to quickly gain a lot of XP.
What do you think of the upcoming change? Does it throw off your plan to reach level 100, or are you not interested and have you already finished the battle pass? Let us know!

The developers of New World have announced several new features for their MMO in the last 7 days. They all sound good and are sometimes critically needed. MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch has already fallen for the hype, but fears that without a major highlight many outsiders will still see the game as dead.
What has been announced for the future of New World?
There should be a patch every week with bug fixes and important adjustments. Once a month, a larger update is expected.
These changes sound great for active players of the MMO. However, they are aimed at active players.
If New World wants to make a complete turnaround, they need to reach out to players who are no longer active. And I don’t see that in the announcements yet.
Who is speaking here? Alex is the MMORPG expert at MeinMMO. In New World, he has spent over 160 hours since release and has already reached level 60. Even in the alpha and beta, he logged well over 100 additional play hours.
In other MMORPGs like SWTOR, Black Desert, and ESO, he has invested hundreds of hours. Guild Wars 2, however, is his absolute favorite game, where he has spent over 8,000 hours.
The patches are good, the communication is great, but will it bring players back?
What do I think about the updates? Please don’t get me wrong: The announced updates are really good and critically needed. I have no fundamental complaints about the content and was even really happy to read the information about the first major patch.
The combat system needs some adjustments because right now the weapon swap works only on average in 2 out of 3 cases. The fact that not every animation can be interrupted equally has bothered me since the release of the game. Any improvement to combat is therefore worth its weight in gold.
The PvP in the form of wars and the outpost rush is among the most interesting content in New World and urgently needs more stable servers. Nothing is more frustrating than being suddenly confronted with lags in intense fights. But that happens far too often.
The new weapon, the “Unheilsstulpen,” will bring positive momentum, at least in PvP, and for players who have already leveled many weapons.
Moreover, the new enemies are a step in the right direction.
The Varangian Hunters are the first new enemy types that New World is getting.
The communication is top-notch! I also want to emphasize how well Amazon has communicated with players in the last two weeks. Planned changes are openly discussed, announcements come early, and hey, there’s even a test server now to check the new updates for bugs in advance.
The number of posts and the way players are currently being communicated with is something I have never experienced in this way in any other MMORPG.
Because developer communication is actually constantly criticized in my favorite MMORPGs – Guild Wars 2 and ESO. I’ve also read quite a bit of criticism in this regard concerning WoW.
So what’s my problem? I can’t create hype with bug fixes and things that should have already worked at release:
In the last 4 weeks, New World has dominated the news with negative headlines about gold dupes, numerous bugs, and invulnerability glitches, which have ruined the fun for some players in the MMO.
In contrast, we now have the message that errors and problems are being fixed – and we’re bringing a new monster type and a weapon.
Fixing is important, but it’s not new content.
Yet especially now, when there has been so much negative sentiment, a highlight is simply important as a counter. A novelty that says: “Here, it’s worth coming back or even starting with New World.”
PvP arenas, new difficulty levels, or a new area
What new content does New World urgently need? I think it’s important that New World implements a highlight in 2021 or at the latest by January 2022 that makes it clear to the players: “Here is new content that you can engage with for a long time.”
Is a highlight really that important? Yes, I keep noticing that with Guild Wars 2. Players who are not deeply engaged in the MMORPG are not excited by smaller patches or the same content. A big feature or a major update, on the other hand, draws much more attention.
New World still enjoys a certain hype, so many pages report on it and streamers showcase the MMO. However, when the hype is completely over, it will be difficult to attract players without a significant novelty.
That’s why I hope Amazon can pull a real highlight out of the hat. Because New World is currently my absolute favorite MMO, and despite the many problems, I enjoy every second in Aeternum.
A new Free2Play MMORPG called Element Quest will be released on PC via Steam in November. The game features a cute 2D style and somewhat resembles the anime “Avatar” if it were a side-scrolling RPG.
What kind of MMORPG is it? The indie studio XPloria is currently working on Element Quest, a new Free2Play MMORPG for PC. The game features a 2D side-scrolling design, reminiscent of classics like Little Fighter.
The core of the game consists of the titular elements – which give Element Quest a touch of “Avatar”. You can choose one of four elements at the early access release that represent your character class:
Fire: Apparently responsible for pure damage and primarily hits hard
Earth: Works with control, seemingly serves as a kind of tank
Water: The healer of the game, with which you support other players
Air: Hybrid support, capable of dealing damage and controlling, but can also protect teammates
In the full version, at least 2 more classes are to be introduced, which will differ significantly from the existing ones. However, there is no information about that yet.
A city during the day.
A city at night.
In a tavern.
A “thorny” expedition.
Apples – or tomatoes? – are apparently tough dungeon bosses.
When and where will Element Quest be released? The early access release is scheduled for November 24 on PC. The game will be free and will have an in-game shop.
These are the features: The team emphasizes that Element Quest focuses primarily on social aspects. “VERY social” is even one of the listed features. Mainly you will experience this in the advertised open world or in the expeditions.
Expeditions sound like a kind of dungeon system in Element Quest. With 3-5 players, you will embark on a roguelite adventure with randomly generated levels and boss battles. You will likely earn your progress here.
Additionally, there will be a day-night cycle where different merchants or NPCs are supposed to appear at various times. The system somewhat resembles the survival game Terraria, where the gameplay also changes depending on the time of day.

What else is coming? The development team has already revealed in a roadmap on Steam what they are working on between early access and full version. This includes:
A PvP system with rankings and dedicated expeditions
New locations with at least 3 social hubs
A kind of karma system with “Good” and “Evil”
Social features like taverns with mini-games and synergies in combat
More expeditions, more mechanics, and cosmetics
In addition, more levels will be achievable, and the 2 previously mentioned additional classes will also come. The early access is planned for a year. According to current information, you can expect a 1.0 release of Element Quest by the end of 2022.
How well Element Quest will ultimately be received remains to be seen. However, 2021 can already boast many strong MMORPGs – perhaps even too many, believes MeinMMO editor and MMORPG expert Alexander Leitsch:
Call of Duty: Vanguard offers a solid grind to unlock various weapon skins through numerous challenges. However, what you get after many hours of “work” is not worth the effort, especially in one category, argues MeinMMO author Jürgen Horn.
I am a big fan of shooters and love the cool skins in Vanguard, both for the operators and the weapons in the game.
And it is precisely the latter that annoys me right now, because one of the most coveted skins is so ugly that you hesitate to waste valuable time on it.

The diamond camos are terrible!
In the multiplayer mode of Vanguard, there are various weapon skins, known as “camos”. They are usually a more or less original version of a camouflage pattern. But those who grind stoically will eventually get the coveted camos from the “Completionist” category.
There is a flashy gold version of the weapon, or even a diamond look, for which you first have to grind through all the weapons of the category.
After the gold version looked quite cool, I was really excited for diamond. But what I saw left me speechless! Because the diamond versions of the weapons are all hideous!
Instead of impressing with precious stones, the diamond weapons looked like silver guns, to which someone had glued thumbtacks in shiny stone style.
Some examples of the diamond weapon skins.
Immediately, a picture came to my mind. A scene where a grumpy Vanguard operator picks up his child from kindergarten, and the little one proudly shows him how he “beautified” Daddy’s favorite weapon in craft class. Namely with lots of beautiful shiny thumbtacks.
And because he doesn’t want to hurt the little one, he now has to go to war with this hideous weapon and becomes the laughing stock of the entire company, the poor guy!
Especially hideous is how it looks on weapons with large round surfaces, for example, the Owen Gun. Furthermore, there’s even an article on reddit with over 400 comments where players vent about the terrible look of the gun (The image of this hideous weapon also decorates the title image of this article).
For other weapons that have many wooden parts, at least these are adorned with a really beautiful diamond pattern. Only the metal components are covered with those terrible thumbtacks.

If you are now asking, “Well, then the diamond skins are just ugly, so what? Let the old Horn use other skins that look better,” I say, “But I worked hard for it!”
Because indeed, it is a tremendous effort to grind through all the weapon skins to eventually get the diamond camo. If I invest so much time in a task – even if it is a hobby – I want to enjoy the fruits of my “labor”.
And I simply cannot do that with a skin that is as ugly as the diamond camos. Such high-end skins should be real eye-catchers and not something to be ashamed of when you get shot holding it.
High-end camos are a powerful achievement that should leave one in awe. Instead, it makes me want to pull my hair out. This is very disappointing and takes away a lot of motivation to grind through all the skins.
With some of the weapons, you currently might not even get the “pleasure” of the diamond skins because the challenges are bugged. There are weapon challenges for certain camos that cannot be completed with the corresponding weapon. At least this way, you are spared the diamond skin, but that is not optimal.
I really hope that the developers will fix this error soon and make more effort in the future to create consistently impressive high-end skins for weapons and not bug the challenges. After all, the grind for skins is an important motivation for long-term enjoyment in such games.
