On Wednesday next week, the TOTW 25 (Team of the Week) for FIFA 22 will be released. At MeinMMO, you can find out which players could appear in the new Team of the Week.
This is the Team of the Week: Every Wednesday in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, it’s time for a new TOTW. This team features players who have excelled with strong performances in real matches during the last football week. These players then receive enhanced Inform cards, which can be found in packs for a week in packs .
These are TOTW Predictions: The TOTW Predictions are forecasts from the FUT community. They try to guess which players might make it into the Team of the Week.
They provide a good overview of who could be in the TOTW. Potential Inform players can then be used to earn coins on the transfer market. How this works is explained in the trading tips.
It is important to note, however, that these are theoretical predictions and not guarantees. The TOTW 25 next Wednesday could look completely different.
The Prediction for Team of the Week 25 in Ultimate Team

Streamer Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo is achieving great success on Twitch and is one of the most well-known creators on the platform. He now claims that women have it much easier on Twitch than men.
This is Mizkif:
The streamer often holds events and quizzes on his channel with his colleagues. On average, he entertains 30,288 viewers. Currently, he plays less on his Twitch channel, but he occasionally turns to Super Mario 64 or the successful Lost Ark (as of March 7, 2022, 08:56 AM).
Mizkif is one of the founders of the group One True King. A streamer group that produces content together and lives in a shared apartment in Texas. Well-known streamers like Asmongold and Emiru are part of it.
I’m sorry, it’s just the truth. And if you don’t think it’s the truth, you’re wrong. It’s much easier for women to reach 100, 200, 300 viewers.
Mizkif
Then came a big “but” from the streamer: Women are said to have a limit of 600 to 1000 viewers. Once this limit is reached, it is nearly impossible for women to grow further.
Men are said not to have this limit of 600 to 1000 viewers, according to Mizkif. While men have a more difficult start, they can break the 1000 viewer mark more easily, as men want to watch other men stream. This is not the case for women.
What does the community say about the statement? On reddit, a post along with the Twitch clip was created, under which the community is actively discussing:
cloaked_rhombus receives considerable agreement with his comment: “Makes sense because the value of a woman is based on the fact that many people seek attention from a woman. When a female streamer gets too big, people leave the stream because they no longer get this attention.”
FeedMeToTheSquirrels thinks: “The largest share of this is probably due to the fact that most users on Twitch are male teenagers or young men who are naturally drawn to ‘male’ humor.”
jo_jo_nyeb makes a gamer comparison: “Like in every RPG/MOBA: Some classes/skills are strong in the early game but useless in the end game.”
Other users write that attractive women have it even easier on Twitch and automatically attract viewers. In addition, it seems that there are often donors in the streams who donate higher amounts to these female streamers.
As a result, the female streamers tend to focus primarily on these users and pay less attention to the rest of the chat. This limits the possible growth of the female streamer.
The majority in the reddit thread agrees with Mizkif. Do you think the same or do you have a different opinion?
Elden Ring is deadly. The next horror lurks everywhere, ready to snuff out the light in the blink of an eye. Still, for MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski, the action RPG is a pure oasis of calm right now. Elden Ring completely changed her perspective on what a “relaxing” game design can be.
I have never touched a Souls game because the entire DNA of the series does not appeal to me at all. I don’t want to be grinding my teeth from monster to monster, constantly getting stuck, losing everything repeatedly, dying a thousand deaths – that’s not how I envision a fulfilling gaming experience.
I understand the appeal of fighting through a tough game and feeling the euphoria of having succeeded. But I prefer to leave that to others. Especially in recent years, when my job and personal life became more demanding, I increasingly evolved into a casual gamer.
Just give me quest markers, preferably a whole navigation system, a foolproof tutorial, a linear experience that hardly exposes me to the danger of a misstep, and then wastes my precious time! That’s the only way I can lose myself and switch off in a game today.
Oh, how I deceived and misled myself for years.
My greatest fear: An open world that doesn’t tell me what to do
I actually didn’t plan to play Elden Ring. However, after the game press overwhelmed with top scores, my professional ambition kicked in to understand this phenomenon and get my hands on the controller myself. The download was soon initiated.
Especially the highly praised open world made me anxious. In so many tests, it was said that the world of Elden Ring is so free that you can go anywhere, anytime. Now you must know that I am quite a directionally challenged person and I often get lost.
A game world without my beloved quest marker only triggers a feeling of discomfort in me, instead of freedom. And yes, the thing with endless freedom: How could that not lead to total overwhelm? Without a helpful quest log to cling to.
After I chose the astrologer in the class selection, I found myself in a dungeon. A small tutorial taught me basic functions like jumping, sneaking, or attacking. Before I had a chance to gain any understanding, Elden Ring threw me out of the nest like a fledgling chick, and I had to leave the dungeon.
I stood alone outside. In the vast, wide world of Elden Ring.
And now?
What I had feared occurred sooner than I liked. I immediately didn’t know what to do with myself. I stood there for a while, sulking, watching pretty glowing trees in the distance.

Everything you need to know about Elden Ring – in 2 minutes
With every death, despair grows
I didn’t want to fail right at the beginning! So I ventured out into the unknown, trudging through the tall, deep green grass that gently swayed in the wind. An old ruin flashed behind a hill, and I headed towards it.
At the edge of the ruin, I spotted three farmers kneeling in the grass, working. Surely they would talk to me and maybe even have a quest! Happily, I ran towards them. Suddenly they stood up and ran towards me. Up close, the diligent farmers transformed into rotting zombie figures. They aren’t running towards me; they are chasing me!
I heard myself scream for the first time in shock in Elden Ring.Death.
Stabbed by zombie farmers.
There would be many more shock screams and unexpected deaths to follow.
Because Elden Ring, like all Souls games, has the trait of throwing unexpected dangers at you from all sides:
Grim riders who rain lightning down on you from a distance.
Gigantically large crabs that crush you from behind with their claws while you were trying to look at something in your inventory.
Indeterminate things that fall on your head and kill you so quickly that you don’t know what hit you.
I just wanted to take a look at my inventory when the most aggressive crab of all time attacked me
I could list many such moments. You understand what I mean. My experience in Elden Ring up to that point consisted of being terrified by surprise attacks and dying immediately.
No progress.
In Elden Ring, you collect experience points through runes that enemies drop upon their death. The runes can be exchanged for leveling up. If you die yourself, you lose these runes and can try to get them back. This only works to some extent near difficult opponents.
The few small enemies I was able to defeat hardly helped here. I had already played for hours and hadn’t even gained a measly level.
So I picked up my secondary weapon, a sword. For half an hour, I did nothing but slay a weak sponge creature after another.
No matter how long it takes: I will get my runes from you.
Strike. Wait for the spores to settle. Strike. Wait for the spores to settle. Strike and victory!
With this method, I finally gathered enough runes to level up for the first time! I am sure this is neither the smartest nor most efficient way to level up, but it was MY way.
I suddenly understood what the open world can mean to me without a foolproof guide.
The subconscious stress disappeared
Initially, looking at the world map of Elden Ring caused me irritation. Slowly, I began to see it with different eyes.
No markers blink for the main quest and numerous side quests. I don’t have to feel guilty for promising an NPC to find his lost son and suddenly getting distracted by another quest.
My quest log isn’t filling up with a slew of unfinished tasks. No collectibles are blinking at the edges of the screen that I will never finish collecting.
All these unfinished tasks that my games usually constantly remind me of actually cause stress. It took a while to understand that. But now I enjoy that the most about Elden Ring.
Nothing has changed in the fact that I still scream occasionally when a foe startles me and I wander through the world of Elden Ring with a certain paranoia.
However, I now perceive the whole thing more like my evening walk, during which I sometimes get a fright. Deaths are no longer so frustrating. If I don’t feel like getting caught up with an enemy, I can just farm small monsters or explore a new area.
My internal pressure to progress quickly is gone.
Elden Ring has become a place of calm for me despite its difficulty.
I believe this is one of the reasons why the reviews of Elden Ring have been so extremely high. We are not really used to such game design anymore. For my part, I had forgotten how to enjoy a game that doesn’t constantly hold my hand.
Nevertheless, Elden Ring remains a challenging experience and can be frustrating. I still wouldn’t tackle a linear Souls game.
But I don’t want to miss my evening walk in Elden Ring at the moment. Let’s see where the journey takes me next.
The atmosphere and vastness of Elden Ring drew me back in despite my frustration. With my astrologer, I sat by the fire for a while, pondering what I should do next.
I remembered what my dear colleague Irie said to me in our podcast about Elden Ring: It doesn’t really matter what I do. You can simply go somewhere and continue. That is the strength of Elden Ring’s open world. For those who do not prioritize following any quest line.
Something clicked in my head. Determined, I rose from my campfire, with a goal in mind. On my journey, I encountered egg-shaped, gelatinous creatures standing in waters. The only threat they posed were deadly spores. They spread when you hit their eggheads. Not harmless, but manageable. Therefore, they also drop few runes.
With my wand, I killed aggressive crabs that were close to the sponge creatures. My mana was empty. I didn’t yet know how to refill that without resting, which would respawn all enemies.

YouTuber Sywo has accompanied the MMORPG Lost Ark even before its release in Korea and is one of the game’s most loyal fans. We at MeinMMO met with him for a conversation about his impressions of the launch and chatted about the future of Lost Ark.
Who is Sywo? Anyone who has searched for videos about Lost Ark on YouTube has surely come across Sywo’s channel. The YouTuber from Estonia is one of the oldest fans of the MMORPG and has played both the Korean and Russian versions of the game.
On his channel, you will find all sorts of news, guides, evaluations of important discussions within the community, and opinion videos about various events in Lost Ark or announcements from the developers.
Accordingly, Sywo, like many other fans in the West, had to wait a long time for a release of the EU version .
Now that Lost Ark has finally been released here, we invited him for a talk. Sywo shares his launch experiences and his assessments regarding the future of Lost Ark in the West.

Everything you need to know about Lost Ark’s endgame – in the video
Launch excitement mixed with severe server issues
MeinMMO: Lost Ark has finally been released here after many years. What is your impression of the launch in the West and the reaction of the MMORPG community to it?
Sywo: As you know, I was present at the launches of the other versions. From the beginning in Korea and then in Russia. It went very, very differently. Back then, you couldn’t say much good about Lost Ark. You can check the Steam reviews. There are 73% positive ratings.
That’s amazing. That would never have happened with the Korean or Russian version, simply because the game was never as good as it is now. And you know, that surprised me. Because I was actually quite scared and very skeptical about how it would be received in the West.
Because let’s be honest: Real money in Lost Ark has quite an impact. Here in the West, we have a huge problem with real money, and I am just shocked because this game, which could be easily called P2W, is primarily positively rated by over 120,000 people on Steam. That’s just crazy.
The game is great, but it is still a cash shop in a cash shop. And we value such things so highly here in the West, so I would say that this release was a huge success in terms of popularity.
I am therefore very surprised, pleasantly surprised.
Lost Ark was overwhelmed by players at launch. However, the extremely high player numbers led to server issues.
MeinMMO: The launch of Lost Ark in the West was spectacular in terms of player numbers, but it also had to deal with problems.
Sywo: I think the release was great in this regard [player numbers]. However, regarding the technical aspects, it was a bit of a nightmare for us in Europe and still is due to the server issues.
It’s not just the queues. You can expect queues with a game so popular. But once you log into the game, the nightmare begins.
Because you actually have to wait a long time to get into groups and do content with people, simply because the instance servers are overloaded. They [the developers] never expected that they would have to operate 23 servers.
Because now all instance servers are overloaded, and it takes about thirty minutes, in which you have to press start to actually enter a content.
I personally feel blessed because I have friends to play with. I never do anything without friends. So at least I know that after these 30 minutes of waiting and clicking, at least I have a success or a few successful rounds with them.
For newbies, however, that could feel truly awful because they line up in the queue and never know: Will they be kicked out or will they actually finish the dungeon? Or will they simply fail and have to go back and do it again?
Moreover, there are bugs. I wouldn’t expect bugs, to be fair. No one is really making a big fuss about the bugs.
Amazon had 1.5 years to fix this, and at the same time, they didn’t really want feedback. Also the translation. There is a quest that has been translated in two different ways. It’s literally the exact same quest and is translated in different ways.
I think they had enough time. Even though Lost Ark is very large, I believe there was enough time to at least get something right in the translation.

Lost Ark: New trailer shows what stories await you in the world of Arkesia
MeinMMO: Are there any changes in the Western version that have negatively impacted the game? Is there anything you felt was better in the predecessor versions?
Sywo: Yes! Haha. One thing I miss. There are these huge open seas in Lost Ark, and there’s a lot of content on it.
And they changed that with the big revamp in August 2020. They completely removed it.
Previously, there were fishing spots everywhere on the sea, especially in dangerous waters. They rewarded you with beautiful fish, and you could fish from your boat. Just like the fishing spots, there were also diving spots or treasure hunting spots or shipwrecks that you could enter.
That was a great form of content on the sea, but they [the developers] removed all of that and replaced it with events in a calendar. I miss that.
Events are nice. They are interesting, but they are nothing compared to how working with the old ship crew felt, simply because the old stuff had a purpose.
It was self-contained content, in addition to the sea and water content. Back then, you could also get equipment, and this equipment was actually gear you could take into PvP and do content with.
Back then, before this change, the crew members were really important to your boat. Now they are usually only used to make the boat faster. No one really cares about a crew member being a great diver or fisherman.
Depending on what you wanted to do at sea, you would choose a specific boat with a crew member for fishing, because I love fishing or diving. So it was great. But now all of that is gone and has changed because people complained that it was too demanding.
Old sea content included open spots for fishing, trading, treasure recovery, and sunken ships. Players formed their crew according to the activity.
Where is Lost Ark heading next?
Lost Ark is currently one of the biggest releases on Steam, with the second-highest peak. I believe, only behind PUBG. Where do you see the game, let’s say in six months, in terms of player numbers?
Sywo: I have two people I watch closely. I am not the best example because I like the game a lot and that’s quite far-fetched, but I have two people I really watch to see how popular the game is with the average player.
One of them is a good friend from real life, who is the directest and bluntest person ever. He has no feelings. He is simply dead inside.
He is currently obsessed with Lost Ark. And everyone I know is quite obsessed with the game, simply because they feel like they aren’t done yet.
That’s the best feeling you can have in an MMO. And I believe many players find themselves in this situation where they feel like there’s so much to do and they really want to do this and that.
It’s not just about the gear. It’s not just about crafting like in other MMOs, or PvP. It’s about so many different things, and everyone I talk to is waiting to finish something so they can do something else.
That’s amazing. And that’s why I think the player numbers will remain quite high. At least in the next six months. Of course, we are already under a million when it comes to the average number of concurrent players.
The Western version includes all of North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and Oceania, so four different continents. It’s not just one country like Korea. So we need about 600,000 concurrent players for the game to continue to be successful.
I expect this to be the case. I predict that we will be averaging around half a million players in six months and beyond.
Lost Ark dominated the bestseller list on Steam and has the second-highest peak of concurrent players after PUBG.
MeinMMO:What content will be next? What is your tip for the next class?
Sywo (laughs): Oh God, I hope it will be the summoner! I really want to play my main class now. I chose the artilleryman just because the summoner is not there, but I don’t think it will be a summoner. I believe they are quite happy with the popularity of the sorceress, although the classes have nothing to do with each other.
… although the summoner could come, since there are only two classes in the mage section. So they would add another one to make it three. So it could actually be a summoner plus another class somewhere towards the end of March. They wanted to release the first Abyss raid for 8 players.
The classes and the Abyssal Raid called Argus, that will be the next big thing. And I think the summoner will be one of the classes because it was already available when they decided to replace it with the sorceress.
That’s one thing and the other. Ah, that’s really hard to say. I think they will decide on a fan-favorite. Who knows, maybe they will bring the third assassin along.
MeinMMO: By the way, it’s quite exciting. A few weeks ago, we had a survey on our site about which class should come to the West next. The Lance Master won.
Sywo(laughs): Of course, of course, everyone wants the Lance Master. A very nice class, very popular and just a really nice class overall.
I wouldn’t be surprised, but it would be the fourth subclass to the fist fighter. And I’m not quite sure if that’s the way they want to go with it while some classes only have two subclasses.
Smilegate has presented a really detailed roadmap for 2022 for the Korean version. Which parts of it excited you the most?
Sywo: My friends will kill me if I don’t mention the female berserker. But seriously, I think the most impressive part that really stuck in my mind is the fact that they said: “We don’t even have a plan for Tier 4 content yet.”
That was very enlightening for me regarding what’s really going on in their heads and what they want to do with Lost Ark.
Currently, we have Tier 3 content as endgame in Korea. With various levels of the third tier. First, we reach item level 1,370. Then we go to 1,445, and then there are new contents, and so on, but that’s all part of Tier 3.
And in the last stream, they said they have no plans for Tier 4 content. This means they don’t want to keep forcing people to constantly create more content, which means more and more gear, which means more and more grinding. For me, that was very impressive.
MeinMMO: Like the vertical progression you know from other MMORPGs? Where it’s always about higher item levels, always upwards, always more. And Smilegate said that they basically want to stop here. At least for now.
Sywo: Yes, that’s exactly it. That’s what I wanted to say, and that’s why it is amazing to see what ideas they have, what they want to focus on. What goals they have with Lost Ark. Their goal is to find a good balance between vertical and horizontal progression, which impressed me a lot because you don’t expect that from a Korean game.
You expect them to keep milking you, always giving you higher item levels so that you can keep grinding. You can always spend real money because you want to advance. But, but that’s not the case with Lost Ark, and that’s fantastic.
The fact that they announced so much horizontal progression with the mini-games and the various game modes we will have is great. I really like seeing a game that doesn’t always try to take everything from you, whether it’s your money or your time. They want to help you have some fun.
“Vertical progression” in MMORPGs refers to the constant upgrading of players, who get better gear with each update. You work your way up in gear levels and become stronger and stronger. At the same time, however, older equipment becomes worthless.
In contrast, “horizontal progression” does not increase the gear level but increases the amount of different gear at the same level.
Advice for the Future: “Players aren’t always right”
What advice would you give Amazon for the future of Lost Ark from your expert perspective?
The advice would be to try to find a balance between the players and the game. The feedback from the players and what the game needs. Between the things people want and the things that are best for the game.
Because there is such a thing as what’s best for the game. But that’s not necessarily what’s best for some players. And I would really hope that Smilegate and Amazon make decisions that benefit both the game and the players.
They can’t ignore the players. In Korea, they ask people: What would you want? How would you improve the game? That’s enormously important for Smilegate to reach the Western audience because Lost Ark just had the biggest launch in its history.
So they want to make the most money, and I think it’s important to continue listening to players from the West.
But not always, because people aren’t always right.
And finally, the last question: What 3 important tips would you give to new players in Lost Ark as an expert?
So advice number one. In my opinion, you will stay in the game the longest if you find out what you enjoy and do a lot of that.
Lost Ark has many different types of content you can engage with: from the sea and water content that also includes islands to the whole completion thing, the PvE and PvP aspects of the game.
So find out what you enjoy and do that. Most of the time you should spend on the content that keeps you in the game the longest. That’s what will make you happiest. That’s what you want to do. No obligations.
Advice number two would be to enjoy having more than one character in Lost Ark. Not because you have to or because you start sending materials to your main class or doing farm events, but simply because it allows you to gain a different perspective,
Lost Ark offers you different gameplay for PvP and PvE content. It’s great to play more than one character. It can be the same class if you really find a class you love, or it can be two different classes. And on that second character, you can do more of what you love.
Advice number three: Look forward to what’s coming in the future. In addition to all the good content you can explore with these classes, with this content, with these dailies, and with this type of PvP, look forward to what’s coming in the future.
Because what’s in the future is so much more, so much different compared to what it is now. And it’s not that I’m saying Lost Ark is bad right now. I’m just saying that Lost Ark is great now and will be even more diverse in the future, giving you even more options in the game.
So much more is coming in different categories that I would really recommend staying until these contents are there and then exploring them.
We sincerely thank Sywo for the nice conversation and wish him much enjoyment with Lost Ark content.
He and the fans of the game can expect new content in March, but before that, Amazon has some nerfs coming:
New World is getting the new weapon “Thunder Rifle” in March, adding to the portfolio of technical weapons. This sets it apart from clear high-fantasy MMORPGs like ESO or Black Desert. While New World also relies on magic, the weapons play a larger role.
The Thunder Rifle is a medium-sized rifle that can be fired with one hand. As expected from New World, there are two different skill trees:
The “Confinement” tree focuses on getting close to enemies and throwing hot lead in their faces.
“Chaos,” on the other hand, focuses on distance and large AoE explosions.
We reveal why it fits so well with New World and what abilities it brings.
Start video
Everything you need to know about the New World endgame – in 2 minutes
New World does not take place in reality, even though much feels that way
What is special about the setting? New World had a somewhat different structure in its initial presentations and there were clear hints that the setting was based on the real world:
The term “New World” is associated with the colonization of America by Europeans who claimed a “new world”
The developers themselves once spoke of a world based on the 17th century
The key artwork of New World resembles a Spanish “Conquistador”
The key art of New World resembles a conquistador.
Although there have been mysterious elements from the beginning, much indicated a “realistic scenario”. However, the developers have since taken a different path and placed a greater focus on magic.
However, the fundamental scenario – the battle for fortresses against other players and crafting more classic armors and weapons – still gives the whole world a sense of realism. One still needs to buy ammunition for bows and firearms and sees no one walking around with an oversized sword.
As a player, you do not dive into a complete high-fantasy world, like in ESO, where you primarily fight huge dragons with magic.
And that is precisely why the Thunder Rifle fits perfectly into the scenario of New World.
What can the Thunder Rifle do? The Thunder Rifle is a medium-range weapon that deals the most damage just before close combat. Every two shots, you need to reload briefly in an animation.
In the Confinement skill tree, you primarily have abilities that allow you to keep the opponent at a distance or jump to them faster:
With Claw Shot, you grab an opponent and are pulled towards them while they are being pulled towards you at the same time.
The Net Shot pushes you back a little while the opponent is slowed for 2.5 seconds.
In the Shrapnel Explosion, 5 shots are fired in a burst directly in front of you, dealing damage.
The Chaos skill tree, on the other hand, focuses much more on damage:
With Fragment Grenade, you fire a grenade that bounces three times, splits into three small grenades, and then explodes.
Explosive Shot knocks opponents down and deals damage to them.
With the Mortar Charge, you load heavier balls that deal additional damage for the next 15 seconds or 3 shots.
It scales with strength and intelligence, making it ideal for melee fighters to pull and reposition, but also usable by mages.
You can watch the complete abilities in this YouTube video:

The new patch in March brings not only major changes but also many small tweaks and balance adjustments. Some of these smaller changes are being very well received by players:
Genshin Impact releases a new patch every 6 weeks with massive updates and usually brand new characters. Too fast for the given resources, says MeinMMO author Lena.
The biggest problem for the community is the resin system in Genshin Impact. Time and again, one reads criticism and suggestions for changes. Everything related to looting costs resin. So if you want to upgrade and perfect your character, you need a lot of resin and time.
Additionally, the luck factor in conjunction with resin has been criticized. Loot is usually sparse, and the equipment items, the artifacts, are often not very useful. It takes time to get an artifact that you can give to the character.
In other games, you can repeatedly defeat a dungeon or boss, while Genshin Impact uses a “popular” mobile game feature to limit runs. If your resin is empty, you can no longer get loot. You have 160 resin available daily, and 1 point regenerates every 8 minutes.
While I never had a problem with it, things began to change with Patch 2.3 and beyond.
Who is speaking here? I am Lena, a freelance author at MeinMMO. Since the beta, I have been involved in Genshin Impact and have been keeping track of every change. I have already invested hundreds of hours in the game and have explored nearly every map 100%.
Why do I suddenly have a problem with the resin system?
With Patch 2.3, new artifacts were introduced to the game after a long time, which overturned some builds of existing characters and were intended to equip future characters.
I noticed that with the current system, I cannot quickly equip the existing characters + the 2 new ones that I also definitely want, and I have to farm for weeks, maybe even months.
Meanwhile, new characters would still appear, some of which I may not want, but certainly a few.
How is that supposed to work? If you don’t want to spend money on the resin system, you are very limited. Not only do you spend 20, at most 40 resin per sphere run if you farm effectively, but you also get 90% bad artifacts.
If they are acceptable, you still have to rely on your luck that the right sub-stats are increased when leveling the artifacts.
This particularly stood out to me with the release of the new artifacts. Moreover, these will not be the last new sets. You have to farm for months only to find out that the new artifact sets are significantly better on the characters – this is very frustrating.

Genshin Impact: 12 powerful characters that will improve any team
If artifacts were the only problem…
If the characters only needed suitable artifacts, it would still be bearable. However, you also have to loot spheres for weapon materials and the various bosses, which can cost up to 60 resin.
While Genshin Impact has tried to address the problem by halving the resin costs of the first 3 weekly bosses, you still need to gather 270 resin to loot all current bosses. So all resin from day 1 and a significant part of the second day in the week goes into that.
Since the weekly bosses drop useful items for the characters, I don’t want to limit myself to just 3.
Additionally, as a player, you have to take care of your own budget and make sure you always have enough EXP cards for the characters. The loot of these cards and the money also costs 20 resin each and only gives you a fraction of what you actually need for a character.
I calculated it: I only selected some of the characters whose weapons, talents, and levels I want to upgrade.
Accordingly, I would need 173 days just to do this. If I also take into account that I have to obtain the artifacts additionally, it could take more than a year to finish the 15 characters, while at the same time new content and characters come every 6 weeks.
While many in the community are calling for resin to be completely abolished, I believe that an adjustment of the loot could already provide relief.
If multiple EXP books, Mora, and rare artifacts dropped per run, it would definitely counteract the problem. I don’t want everything to be handed to me and to finish with a character within a week, but I want it to remain fair.
What is it supposed to look like when there are eventually not 6 weekly bosses anymore, but 15 to 20? I don’t want to be forced to not loot certain bosses in the week just because my resin prohibits that.
Additionally, the limit of 5 for enriched resin could be increased. If I happen to have 2 to 3 days without time for the game, I could at least store the resin of those days and use it completely on another day.
I hope that Genshin Impact adapts the resin system to the current content and variety by the time Patch 3.0 is released.
We asked you how you liked the Johto Tour in Pokémon GO and how many Shinies you were able to catch during the event. We received over 10,000 votes and a large portion of you are dissatisfied.
What is it about? On the last weekend of February, the big Johto Tour took place in Pokémon GO. At exactly 09:00 AM, the twelve-hour event started. You were presented with special researches, time-limited researches, collector challenges, spawns, raids, bonuses and Shinies.
Trainers were able to purchase a ticket for about €12, which unlocked more content. During the event, we looked around in the community. Some trainers were happy to finally find certain Shinies. Others were not pleased at all. We conducted two surveys and show you how much the Johto Tour disappointed you.
“Mediocre” to “bad”, say trainers with tickets
This was the survey: We asked you directly after the end of the Johto Tour here on MeinMMO, how you liked the event. We provided the options “Good”, “Mediocre”, and “Bad” for trainers with and without tickets. Each participant had one vote.
At the time of evaluation on March 4th at 1:45 PM, 8,203 trainers had participated in the survey.
This is the result:
2,669 votes (about 33%) say “Mediocre (with ticket)”
2,469 votes (about 30%) say “Bad (with ticket)”
1,397 votes (about 17%) say “Good (with ticket)”
641 votes (about 8%) say “Bad (without ticket)”
593 votes (about 7%) say “Mediocre (without ticket)”
434 votes (about 5%) say “Good (without ticket)”
In summary, the Johto Tour can be said to
rated “Mediocre” by 40% of participating readers
rated “Bad” by 38% of participating readers
was rated “Good” by 22% of participating readers
A large part of you is dissatisfied with the Johto Tour in Pokémon GO.
And what about Shinies? In another survey, we wanted to know how many Shinies you were able to catch during the Johto Tour. After all, a bonus of the €12 ticket was a higher chance for certain shiny forms of the event Pokémon.
At the time of evaluation on March 4th at 1:50 PM, 2,364 trainers had participated in the survey.
1,109 players were able to catch 0-5 Shinies – that’s about 47% of participants
676 players were able to catch 6-11 Shinies – that’s about 29% of participants
348 players were able to catch 12-17 Shinies – that’s about 10% of participants
198 players were able to catch more than 22 Shinies – that’s about 8% of participants
133 players were able to catch 17-22 Shinies – that’s about 6% of participants
You commented on our articles here on MeinMMO and explained to us why you voted the way you did.
Comments on the Johto Tour:
Marco says: “Hello, I also rated it as mediocre because many Ho-Oh or Lugia raids could be done, but I didn’t get a single Shiny. I found that a bit disappointing and overall the yield was rather scarce.”
Walez writes: “Mediocre because the so-called appearance of Legendaries consisted of 2 Raikou in 4 hours, which fled instantly. Also far too few Shinies in the wild, none dropped in the 5-star raids, which was really unusual. And, last but not least, the special Go trainers – at some point I lost the desire to spin PokéStops. The research that led to the lengthy master research was quite nice though. Speaking of Celebi, it annoys me that I can’t dismantle it. A hint appears that it is a mysterious Pokémon and cannot be sent away. In this respect, it’s illogical since other mysterious Pokémon can be dismantled. Now I’m stuck with two Celebi, blocking space for another. I don’t understand the constraint; it should be the player’s decision on what to keep.”
Anni says: “Overall a great event. Just a pity that many others, including myself, didn’t get any of the new Shinies. And we played from start to finish.”
Link thinks: “The event was absolutely bad; I agree with the previous speakers here. Shiny rate was poor, catch and spawn rates were mediocre, and the fact that I did 278 Corasonn raids without getting a perfect or shiny is outrageous. Too bad, it could have been more valuable.”
9 hours of gameplay, 18 Shinies (all wild), 8 Legendaries from raids, 2 Legendaries caught in the wild (Entei & Raikou). I completely understand the frustration when you don’t have much luck, but sometimes I wonder what expectations there are.
Based on experience, many players only manage up to 100 catches a day (generally without events), find that to be a lot, and wonder why they get so few Shinies. Also, evolving to Espeon and Umbreon requires knowledge & tactics; some things require preparation. Yes, it was a lot, but I don’t want to be rewarded with a Shiny Gyarados, which I’ve been looking for for 6 years, the three Legendary dogs, and 18 Shinies without doing anything. I want to experience something and be entertained.
There are definitely negative points: the somewhat exaggerated amount of tasks and the gym trainers. In the countryside, it’s difficult to complete the tasks, even if I drive to the next “town”. That’s the only task I couldn’t complete because not enough trainers showed up.
But as Niantic states about purchasing the ticket: “You must play within the specified time” – that is from 9 AM to 9 PM, and I personally did not meet this requirement – I was missing exactly two gym trainers that I could have found in the remaining 3 hours.
Lastly, I want to mention that everyone commenting on the weather or season is undermining their own case. People, this is a worldwide game. If it’s a cold wind in February in Germany, it’s summer elsewhere. Dress warmly like I do, move around, and that’s it.
In further comments, it is criticized that the event simply had “too much” to offer. There were too many contents stuffed into the one-day event.
Ascy writes: “An event is a great thing; there’s something to do and a lot of rewards are thrown at you. It’s also fun to meet groups of players and have a nice chat or two.
But what I find a bit negative is the time factor. For me, one day for such an event is simply too little. Two days with the same time zones would have been the better alternative […].”
Do you have any further feedback on the Johto Tour in Pokémon GO?

Two sisters live in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov and stream on Twitch when the sound of bombs interrupts their stream. Tens of thousands watch in shock the clips on the internet. They discuss what is happening there.
Trigger Warning:The post embeds clips showing two young women whose Twitch stream is interrupted by audible bomb explosions. Some say they find these images ‘disturbing’ and ‘scary’.
These are the two streamers:
BULOCHKA’s real name is Julianna. She says she comes from the city of Kharkov in Ukraine, which she loves dearly. Julianna explains that she talks a bit in her Twitch streams, draws ‘cool characters’ from games or movies – and when she feels like it, she plays a bit too. Normally, 730 people watch her when she streams. When she plays, it’s usually games like GTA5 or The Witcher.
Her sister alina_dv streams for about 300 viewers on Twitch. Like her sister, she mainly operates in the ‘Just Chatting’ category.
These clips are going around the world: A series of Twitch clips have emerged showing the two streamers sitting together at the computer and chatting with the chat, but then they suddenly become startled when they hear the sounds of bombs falling during the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Particularly distressing is a clip where BULOCHKA stands up at the first sound but hesitates because the impact might be further away, only to then seek what she thinks is safety at the second impact.

How is this being discussed? In the reddit “Livestreamfails”, usually cynical comments prevail. But the images of the sisters shock and disturb many. They are innocent people caught in the midst of such a situation. It is incredibly difficult to watch, says one commentator.
The users on reddit are shaken and shocked.
One user says: ‘These clips from Ukraine scare me. I have to wait an hour before I click on them. I don’t want to see people die in the stream.’

Are the streamers doing well? The distressing clips in which the bombs are heard are now several days old. The latest stream came Saturday evening when the two streamed from a kitchen, vaping and enjoying some ice cream.
At least there, they apparently seemed to be doing quite well under the circumstances.
Sisters now have thousands of viewers on Twitch
This stands out: What is noticeable is the strong interest in the streams of the two since the outbreak of the invasion. BULOCHKA’s viewer numbers have skyrocketed from about 950 to up to 10,700 since February 24. Alina_dv’s viewer numbers have sometimes increased by a factor of 15.
The interest in the events in Ukraine is apparently high. Even those who do not watch ARD Brennpunkt or read long articles in news magazines are confronted with what is happening in Ukraine.
On Friday, we reported on MeinMMO about a Twitch streamer who fled from his bunker in eastern Ukraine:
Riot Games has now presented why they are considering a radical change to the SoloQ in League of Legends. Despite the name, pre-made teams of two players, the Duos, can compete there. But this causes problems in LoL.
What kind of change is Riot Games flirting with?
Currently, SoloQ is open for solo players, but Duos that have teamed up beforehand can also compete against the solo players.
Now Riot Games is considering kicking out these Duos and making SoloQ accessible only for solo players. Duo players would then be placed in “Flex Ranked”, along with Trios.
Start video
Today the pre-season 2022 starts in LoL – Here are the most important innovations in the video
SoloQ is performing better than ever before
Why is the decision for LoL so difficult? The Riot developers Codebreak and Riru have publicly shared their ideas and considerations in a blog post (via lol).
The problem is:
the current system actually works better than ever before: All statistics of the Solo Queue say SoloQ would quickly match equally strong opponents against each other. The statistics here are extremely strong.
In addition, there is a relatively large “Duo Community” and they want to ensure that they find a good competitive environment when they switch to “Ranked Flex” to continue playing in Duo.
Ranked Flex is struggling for Trios, here Duos could help
Why is this even being done? Essentially, Riot Games says: They see no other way to further improve the SoloQ at the moment. Games that involve pre-made Duos statistically perform significantly worse than when all 10 players are soloists:
The matches have a worse matchmaking rating, meaning more “unequally skilled” players are playing against each other.
The matches have a longer queue time, meaning people are waiting longer to start.
Additionally, another core mode, Ranked Flex, just isn’t performing well. It might help to have pre-made Duos in the mix. There are only a few opponents found for three players when pre-made Trios sign up.
Will the change happen? Riot Games doesn’t know yet. You can sense how hesitant the developers are to implement this radical change.
They apparently want to ensure that the Duo players do not leave frustrated, but continue to play competitively.
If one follows the argumentation of Riot Games, the change would significantly improve the experience for solos and trios – it’s apparently just a matter of whether the Duo players will go along with it.
Duos have a bad reputation in the community
How is this being discussed? The community on reddit seems to welcome such a change:
Duos are seen by some as ‘E-Daters’, many have a stereotype of “couples in the Botlane” in mind. Women would then say: “They are HIS SUPPORT” – men would say they are “HER CARRY” – this can’t be tolerated on reddit.
There is also the suspicion that some are smurfing on their second account to boost a partner’s ranking in Duo. “Smurfing” means that an experienced player plays on a new account to temporarily face newcomers and weaker players.
Generally, the idea of removing Duos from SoloQ seems to be welcomed. One could then distinguish between “SoloQueue” and “TeamQueue”.
At the moment, hardly anyone takes the “FlexQueue” seriously, it is said. Riot Games should also consider the image of the queue.
Riot Games seems to want to shake up quite a bit in LoL at the moment:
You like to tinker with your gaming PC and optimize your hardware? Then don’t make the same mistake as MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann, who wanted to do too much at once.
Many users prefer to work on their gaming PC themselves, swapping out components or optimizing their machine. However, anyone looking to remodel their computer should not make the same mistake that happened to me now.
Because this mistake cost me a lot of time that wouldn’t have been necessary if I had paid more attention. And I just wanted to exchange a few components quickly, all while paying attention to the important tips for building a PC.
Whoever swaps three components swaps two too many
What did I do? I had tinkered with my computer and swapped out several components at once.
I installed a new graphics card and a larger power supply. For my graphics card, I installed a 600-watt power supply because my previous power supply would no longer be sufficient.
I also renewed my cable management in the process.
Additionally, I replaced the power strip.
What happened? After the upgrade, I wanted to game again in the evening. However, suddenly numerous games wouldn’t start or got stuck on the loading screen.
Initially, I suspected Apex Legends, as an update via Steam can occasionally go wrong. I reinstalled the game and tried to start it again. But the problems persisted, and I couldn’t game properly.
Now, I was faced with the big question: Where did the error occur, or had I damaged the hardware during the upgrade because I hadn’t been careful enough?
Because the issues hadn’t existed before the upgrade. So I had no choice but to replace each individual part again. After all, I didn’t know where the error had occurred during assembly.
First, I swapped the graphics card for another one. The error still persisted unchanged.
Next, I replaced the power strip again. The error was still there.
Finally, I swapped my new power supply for my old one – and suddenly everything worked again.
What was exactly broken? After the exchange, I suspected the power supply. With 600 watts, it provided more than enough power for my graphics card and the rest of the hardware. My old power supply only provided 450 watts, and with that, everything functioned perfectly again.
Searching for the error cost me about 2 hours. However, troubleshooting could have taken much less time, and I might have had the patience to fix my cable management again.
You won’t find this tip in any manual: Most manuals usually give you directions on how to assemble your computer. For instance, you first mount the processor along with the cooler onto the motherboard and then go from one step to the next until you have assembled the entire PC.
However, the manual does not state that you should replace and test each part individually, nor that you create a lot of work for yourself when swapping two, three, or more components. Because that is only a perceived time saving.
I have learned not to swap more than one component at a time
What could I have done differently? If I had only swapped the power supply first, I probably would have noticed the error immediately. I still would have reinstalled the game or suspected Steam, but I wouldn’t have had to swap so much hardware.
And this is also an important lesson that you should consider as well. When you tinker with your PC or swap hardware, always swap out only one component at a time. Because this way, you find the error much faster and save more time than if you first have to search for the issue afterwards.
In the future, when I swap a component in my computer, I will only replace one component. Because that limits the potential errors to a narrow scope. I can find the error much faster and don’t have to disassemble everything. And in the worst case, I’ll only need to swap out one component again instead of swapping each part multiple times.
What do you think? Have you made the same mistake or do you always swap out only one part at a time? Share it in the comments!
By the way, I was able to solve another problem much more easily. For that, I only needed a screwdriver and an investment of 5 euros. What I did exactly and why it has significantly improved my computer can be read here on MeinMMO:
In Elden Ring the weather influences the damage you deal and also the damage you take. Those fighting in the rain should avoid fire spells. We at MeinMMO reveal what to keep in mind regarding the weather.
How exactly does this weather thing work? In Elden Ring, it can be sunny or rainy in the same location. While all values remain normal during sunshine, the rain affects the resistances of the characters:
When it rains, the resistances against fire damage are increased
At the same time, the resistance against lightning damage decreases
Specifically, this means 10% more or less damage. This applies to both the damage you deal and the damage you receive. Therefore, if you want to get the most out of your character, you should always keep an eye on the weather.
The YouTuber Iron Pineapple discussed this trick in his video (via YouTube). We have included two screenshots from it:
Fire DamageLightning Damage
Elemental Influence is Nothing New for Souls Players
Is the weather influence surprising? Not really. Fans of Dark Souls are already familiar with the influence of elements. For example, if you bathe your equipment in water, you gain additional fire resistance and become more susceptible to lightning damage.
Players report on reddit about the boss Glass Knight from Dark Souls 2, who, while having an extremely high lightning resistance, is considered one of the most vulnerable bosses to lightning damage because the fight took place in the rain (via reddit).
What trick should one know with lightning damage? If you perform a lightning effect – whether through spells or a weapon – in water, there is a small AoE effect with additional damage.
The effect radius is not very large and the damage is relatively low, but you can use this trick now and then when encountering multiple enemies at once.
However, there is intense discussion about magic in Elden Ring. Some consider it so powerful that they see it as an “Easy Mode”:

Two new dungeons in Ascending Tide
What are the biggest innovations brought by Ascending Tide? With the new update, two new dungeons are making their debut, which will give a preview of the story of the upcoming chapter High Isle and initiate the narrative “Legacy of the Bretons.”
Four of the world’s largest gaming developers have stopped their sales in Russia: Epic Games (Fortnite), Activision Blizzard (WoW, Call of Duty), EA (Battlefield 2042, FIFA 22), and Microsoft (Halo). The MMORPG New World developed by Amazon has announced the halt of development for a Russian version.
This was the demand from Ukraine: On March 2, Ukrainian Minister for Digital Transformation Myhailo Fedorov published an open letter to “Xbox” and “PlayStation,” urging all gaming developers and esports platforms to temporarily block Russian and Belarusian accounts. He also called for the cancellation of all events in Russia and Belarus (via twitter).
There is confidence that such actions could encourage citizens of Russia to cease their “shameful military aggression.” It was stated that modern technology in 2022 might be the best response to tanks and rocket attacks.
Microsoft helps Ukraine in the cyber war against Russian attacks
This is what Microsoft says: Microsoft released a statement against the Russian invasion of Ukraine in a blog post. President Brad Smith writes:
Like the rest of the world, we are shocked, saddened, and angry about the images and news coming from the war in Ukraine. We condemn the illegal, unprovoked, and unjustified invasion by Russia.
Brad Smith
Microsoft will:
stop sales and services in Russia and align with the sanctions of the USA, UK, and EU
support cybersecurity systems in Ukraine. More than 20 measures have already been initiated to protect the IT of the Ukrainian government and the financial sector from “destructive and disruptive” actions.
Microsoft states: The worst malware attacks since 2017 are occurring. Particularly alarming are the attacks against digital civilian services in the field of humanitarian aid and in the energy sector. There are great concerns about potential violations of the Geneva Convention.
In a statement, Electronic Arts announces (via ea.com):
Our games and our content will no longer be available in the Russian storefront at Origin or the EA App; this includes in-game shops. We are working with our platform partners to remove our titles from their stores and stop the sale of new in-game content in the region.
EA further states that it is shocked by the conflict unfolding in Ukraine and stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. It is especially concerned for the partners and colleagues in the region and is striving to understand how to help the people in Ukraine even more, beyond the existing programs.
Our expertise at MeinMMO relates to gaming. For those wanting to learn more about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we recommend checking official sources or news magazines:

Important Note:If you are troubled by dark thoughts due to the current situation: You are not alone. Please seek help. For example, through the telephone counseling service at 0800/111 0 111 or the online counseling service, where you can also use a chat feature. This is free and applies nationwide.
Epic Games stops sales but wants to keep communication channels open
This is what Epic Games says: Via Twitter, Fortnite developer and tech company Epic Games states:
Epic stops business with Russia in our games as a response to the invasion of Ukraine. We will not stop access for the same reasons other communication tools remain online: The free world should keep all lines of dialogue open.

Activision Blizzard boosts employee donations to Ukraine
This is what Activision Blizzard says: Daniel Alegre releases a statement that he has also shared with the team.
Over the week, we have seen the news from Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis that is worsening there. Our company is committed to helping those affected by the terrible violence and providing any help possible.
Daniel Alegre, President and COO Activision Blizzard
Blizzard announces:
suspend sales of new games in Russia as long as the conflict continues.
prioritize the safety of employees and their families
boost employee donations at a 2:1 ratio. The cap for such boosted donations rises from $1,000 to $10,000 – already $300,000 has been donated this way.
Additionally, the “incredible efforts” of colleagues in Poland are applauded, as they have already helped many Ukrainian refugees and others in need.
This is what New World says: From the Vice President of Amazon Games, it is said that plans had been made to pursue a Russian localization of New World, but those plans have now been halted.
Just a few days ago, numerous other studios and gaming companies announced they were limiting their business activities in Russia, including Bungie (Destiny 2) and CD Projekt Red (Cyberpunk 2077, GOG.com).
The Belarusian studio Wargaming has also made its position clear regarding the war in Ukraine:
In Destiny 2 on March 5, the race for the World’s First in the raid “Vow of the Disciple” has begun. The winners of this race are already known. Participating again is the Twitch streamer and YouTuber Datto, who has been fighting for first place for years. But this time, another group beat him to it.
Who won the race for the World’s First? The Twitch streamer Saltagreppo and his group were the first to complete the new raid in Destiny 2.
However, the race was very close. As users on reddit report, the group led by the German player ExBlack was about 10 to 20 minutes ahead in the final encounter but failed for too long against the final boss, which allowed Saltagreppo to take the victory.
Datto is said to have completed the raid just three minutes after Saltagreppo with his group.
This is particularly bitter, as Datto has been narrowly missing the World’s First for years.

Datto narrowly misses out on the World First, already a meme in the community
How narrowly did Datto fail? Datto is known in the Destiny 2 community as the “explainer bear.” He shares his impressions of new content on Twitch and publishes guide videos on YouTube. For years, he has also participated in the races for the World’s First. However, he has yet to secure first place.
As a screenshot shows, they were short by 3 minutes and 15 seconds (via Twitter). They lost this time during a wipe, which the players shared as a video on reddit.
If this had not happened, first place would likely have been secure.

How did it go for ExBlack? The group around the streamer from Germany was reportedly ahead of Saltagreppo in the final boss fight. However, there was a wipe at just 2% remaining health of the boss.
This setback caused the group to ultimately have to concede defeat.
Who is the winner? Saltagreppo is a Twitch streamer and YouTuber for Destiny 2. Together with his group, he creates raid guides and defeats bosses with fewer people than normally required for a raid.
He completed the raid in 7 hours and 14 minutes and was officially declared the winner by the developers.

How is the raid received? Both Saltagreppo and Datto have spoken positively about the new raid. It is said to be among the best in Destiny 2. However, there were also some issues.
There are reports of bugs in the raids that prevent loot chests from appearing when defeating a boss.
Additionally, there were error messages and server problems around the launch of the raids, as the developers themselves stated. A temporary queue for players without a season pass or expansion was briefly introduced.
This queue has since been disabled.

In Destiny 2, Bungie has thrown many new weapons into the loot pool for Witch Queen. One of them resembles the infamous Recluse and can even hold its own with the right perks. We will show you which one it is and how you can best get it.
What kind of weapon is it? This is the new Void SMG “Trichternetz” from the Veist Weapons Forge with a fire rate of 900. This small submachine gun fires quickly and accurately and can also perform well at medium range.
If you have the right roll, it can even replace the infamous Recluse, which could be earned in the Crucible through a lengthy quest. Since the weapon can perform so well in PvE, you should definitely secure a copy.
Recluse 2.0? The new Trichternetz rivals her
What can the weapon do? The Void weapon excels in range, stability, and handling with the right perks. Thanks to the new origin perk “Veist Stinger,” there is a chance, while using the sights, to reload the magazine when under enemy fire and give you a movement boost.
This is what the perfect roll could look like.
If you get a copy with perks like Outlaw and Rampage, you can slaughter entire groups of enemies without worrying about your magazine. Its range is comparable to that of an auto rifle and can send enemies to their demise with hard and fast shots.
The recoil is also very pleasant and well controllable for an SMG. This allows for well-placed shots even at distance. Just to compare, how the Trichternetz with the right perks outperforms the Recluse:

The comparison between Trichternetz and Recluse
What are the best rolls? To lead with the best Trichternetz, you should pay attention to the following perks:
Where can you get it? Unfortunately, the weapon cannot be crafted, but it can be farmed. The SMG belongs to the worldly loot pool and can be obtained from Umbral Engrams, Powerful Engrams, or simply from Banshee-44 through weapon master ranks. However, it is not a guaranteed drop. You need a lot of luck.
What do YouTubers say about the weapon? Ehroar, a “Destiny 2” expert, claims that the Trichternetz is better than the Recluse. He draws comparisons with the old Veist model and compares the capabilities that Guardians now have to make their Trichternetz more powerful.
With the right seasonal mods combined with source mods, the Trichternetz can easily outclass the Recluse in terms of DPS and ammo. Many players have already recognized this and declared the Trichternetz SMG a new must-have.
What do you think of the new SMG? Do you think it’s better than the Recluse? Or have you not tested it yet? Let us know what you think!

Cortyn from MeinMMO is convinced by the latest WoW cinematic. There is much criticism – but sometimes it seems to be pulled out of thin air.
The latest cinematic in World of Warcraft is out. It takes place directly after the provisional final boss Anduin Wrynn in the raid “Mausoleum of the First”. As has been the case in recent times, the cinematic causes a split in the community. Some were thrilled and celebrate it, while others are annoyed and think that illogical details prevail and the characters have been ruined.
I find the cinematic great, as it treats all characters with respect and is quite logical. Let me explain to you why this is the case.
Spoiler warning: If you don’t want to know anything about the cinematic, you should not continue reading. You have been warned.

Where do the souls of Varian and Saurfang come from?
The first point of criticism is that some players find it illogical that the souls of Varian Wrynn and Saurfang help to free Anduin from the grasp of the Jailer. After all, Saurfang was killed by Sylvanas and should have landed directly in the Maw, and Varian Wrynn was destroyed by Gul’dan with fel magic, which completely obliterated his soul.
The simple answer is: The ones in the cinematic are not the souls of Varian and Saurfang.
They are merely small echoes, a reverberation of the former wielders of the sword. Both Varian and Saurfang were wielders of Shalamayne, who died while using the sword, and both are very significant characters for Anduin. That Anduin sees his father in this way has happened more frequently in the past – for example, when he first picks up the sword on the Broken Shore.
Varian and Saurfang help – but it is not their souls.
“So much more could have been done with Arthas” – Really?
The second major point of criticism is the treatment of Arthas as the former Lich King. In the cinematic, it becomes clear that only a “last, glowing spark” of his soul remains. He was incorporated into the forges of the Jailer in Torghast, and virtually nothing remains when the sword becomes Shalamayne again and the last spark of Arthas’ soul extinguishes.
Some believe that “much more” could have been done with Arthas and that “his character has been ruined”.
Here I must critically ask: Would that have really been wise? Would it have really been clever to give Arthas a bigger role?
I don’t believe that at all. Already before the launch of Shadowlands, developers stated that they would probably not encounter Arthas “personally” and want to treat the character “with respect”.
I believe this has been fully realized when you think about it a bit. Because unlike many other characters who have drastically changed with Shadowlands, Arthas has remained Arthas. He is an essential part of the Anduin battle as the “Fallen King”, but does not play a significant role in the story.
We can continue to remember Arthas exactly as we loved and hated him in Warcraft III and Wrath of the Lich King. His character has hardly been touched, none of his deeds have been excused or trivialized, and he remains the good prince who has gone astray.
Arthas – only a last spark of his soul remains.
Jaina and Uther hold back
Another point of criticism that I keep reading is the lack of what Uther and Jaina say about the rest of Arthas’ soul. After all, the two were long companions of Arthas and played an important role in his life – and vice versa.
Here it is often forgotten that both of these characters had already made their peace with Arthas.
Jaina did that back in Icecrown when she discovers that until the very end, a piece of the “old” Arthas remained in him and he had kept the medallion from her – until the last moment.
Moreover, Jaina has grown. Even though they had a romantic relationship in the past, many years have passed. Jaina even had another partner in between, and in general a lot has happened in recent years that had little or nothing to do with Arthas. Jaina has already had her “closure” with the Arthas story.
Something similar applies to Uther. A large part of the campaign from Patch 9.1 revolved around the perceived mistakes he made in his life with Arthas. All of this ultimately culminated in him throwing Arthas into the Maw and thereby sealing the fate of Arthas’ soul, which was eventually processed in Torghast. Uther ruined his own “closure” with Arthas when he chose revenge and banished Arthas to the Maw.
The only one who never found a proper ending with Arthas was Sylvanas. Since she became trapped in undeath and became a banshee, she wanted revenge. Ultimately, she was denied that as she was not present in the fight against the Lich King and only reached the Frozen Throne later – after which she plunges from Icecrown and falls further into the grasp of the Jailer.
Sylvanas was the only one who truly needed that closure. The certainty that nothing remains of Arthas, who has so shaped her decisions, that she can chase after or punish.
Sylvanas is prominently featured in the new video – and that’s how it should be.
The last point of criticism is: “There’s Sylvanas again.”
I’m not quite sure how to respond to that. I understand that some are completely fed up with Sylvanas. I can relate to that. But it should be clear that Shadowlands represents the (provisional) conclusion of Sylvanas’ story and she will at least not be the main character after that. Therefore, I find it even more important to tell the end of this story now. Yes, this does mean we have quite a bit to do with Sylvanas in this patch.
But that is certainly better than cutting off this plot again. Let Blizzard finish this act, because if they do it right, then there will be plenty of room to bring other characters into the spotlight – and I am sure that will be the case with 10.0.
I know that the cinematic has once again divided the player base – but I liked it. And the longer I think about it, the more I believe that they have brought a whole series of storylines to a reasonable conclusion without stepping on the characters’ legacy.
But what do you think?

In Elden Ring, players have various options for character builds and ways to play the game. However, some of these are frowned upon in parts of the community. In this episode of the MeinMMO Podcast, we discuss whether there is a “right” and “wrong” way to play.
This is the topic: Games from the developer FromSoftware, which includes Elden Ring, are known in the community for their sharp difficulty. The games forgo quest logs and minimaps, throwing challenging enemies at players.
At the same time, developers provide players with tools such as summons or co-op mode, which make the game easier. However, these tools are labeled as “playing wrong” or even “cheating” by some members of the community.
In the MeinMMO Podcast, Leya, Tarek, and Irie discuss whether it is even possible to play Elden Ring “wrong”.

Most of you are having fun again with World of Warcraft – at least that’s what a survey among MeinMMO readers indicated.
Patch 9.2 of World of Warcraft has been live for almost 10 days now and most players have already spent many hours in Zereth Mortis. Particularly eager characters have also already set foot in the new raid “Mausoleum of the First” in the past few days – at least in normal and heroic mode, the rest will follow later.
We wanted to know from you a few days ago how you received Patch 9.2: End of Eternity and more than 1,900 of you participated in our survey. We present the results to you – and they are relatively clear.

Everything you need to know about the MMORPG World of Warcraft – in 3 minutes
Because those currently playing World of Warcraft seem to be quite satisfied with the patch, at least this applies to the majority of our WoW-playing readers.
The result at the time of writing this article was:
20 % find the patch very good and have a lot of fun.
33 % find the patch okay, but think it is nothing special.
10 % are less impressed by the patch.
10 % think the patch is bad and have no fun at all.
27 % indicated that they are currently not playing WoW and therefore cannot assess the patch.
The result of the survey.
In the following, we will occasionally exclude the numbers of people who indicated “I am currently not playing WoW”. This way, we will arrive at more reliable figures regarding those still actively playing.
More than 70 % of players are satisfied
The clearly largest portion of votes falls on a positive opinion. 53 % of the votes cast are satisfied or very satisfied with the patch. If we only look at current players, the value even rises to 72.5 %. For example, Desten96 writes:
I find it very good. The only thing that bothers me are the annoying puzzles. I am finally enjoying WoW again and also leveling my other chars through the current addon to ensure they’re ready for the next hopefully good addon.
Zereth Mortis is especially praised so far. The area is a significant improvement compared to Korthia, which disappointed most players. There is a wealth of content, numerous rare enemies, and at the same time no compulsion to grind something – but the option to do so. Those who want to can farm over 50 mount and battle pets. Either specifically or as a side activity.
Not yet mentioned is – logically – the raid, Mausoleum of the First. It is just opening in its various modes, and it will take a few weeks before all players could at least take a look at the LFR.
Zereth Mortis is beautiful and fun – at least most see it that way.
Not everyone is satisfied
However, despite all the joy, the patch does not manage to excite all players. A total of 20 % of those surveyed (27 % of active players) are not satisfied or very unsatisfied – the two shares are almost equal.
For these players, the patch apparently continues and culminates a flawed addon, and they long for the next expansion, which will likely be a while before it arrives. Especially under the Facebook post related to the survey, many negative voices were found.
For example, Georg Maniek Zehle writes:
After such a long wait, I expected something more. I find it boring!
Others apparently wished for more variety from the “typical” MMORPG fare. For example, Birgit Freitel summarizes:
Collect 30 of this, kill 15 of those, run from A to B and come back. Like the last two years… nothing new.
It remains to be seen whether the patch can bridge the long wait until the next expansion, but at least cross-faction play should be coming to the PTR soon.
Does your experience match the survey? How is the patch received in your guild and friend circle?
