After the release of the 1st content update, fans of Diablo Immortal are disappointed and disillusioned. The patch allegedly did not bring enough new features. And what is available is partly just copied, say the players.
What’s in the new update? Overall, there were 3 new contents in the update from July 7. Two of them are actually gameplay relevant. Vitaath is a new raid boss that was released on July 2 and is far too hard for most players.
Secondly, on July 15, a weekend event will start with some rewards, which will run until July 18. The third and actually biggest change is the new Battle Pass for Season 2. Players can grind 40 levels again for various rewards, including:
legendary and normal gems
cosmetics
crafting materials
However, it is precisely this Battle Pass that is causing a ton of threads to appear on reddit, complaining exactly about this new content.
The update revamped 2 of the weakest classes in the tier list of Diablo Immortal, monks and sorcerers. Check out gameplay for all 6 classes here:

Fans are disappointed: “Literally a copy”
What’s the problem? Since Vitaath is too hard and the event hasn’t started yet, the Battle Pass is currently the only engagement with long-term incentive for many players. Here, fans feel that there is simply too little love put into it.
The levels and rewards are nearly identical to what was already seen in Season 1. On reddit, people complain that the Battle Pass is “exactly the same” as the previous one and a “disappointment“, nothing more than a copy of the first.
While there are new cosmetics, there are only a few and only if you pay. Some players report that they uninstalled Diablo Immortal after seeing the Battle Pass. Many are particularly annoyed by the statement of the Blizzard CEO regarding monetization:
The Battle Pass was supposed to be the biggest motivation for playing Diablo Immortal, alongside the grind for loot and leveling. In the interview with game director Wyatt Cheng, he explained to MeinMMO how important he finds Battle Passes when they are well done. That is exactly what players are currently missing.
Positive reactions are hardly seen. The bug fixes are well received, but according to many players, the update simply lacks substance. The mood may change after the event weekend from July 15 to 18.
Some fans also complain that critical points are not addressed. Legendary gems are still important but a pay2win factor. In the video, you can find out what this feature is about:

What’s next? Blizzard has already promised further updates in July that will bring even more content. By the end of the month, the class change feature is supposed to be released. This was a big news upon announcement, as it allows you not to need secondary characters.
Cheng also mentioned in the video that more story and new classes will be part of the free updates for Diablo Immortal. However, we do not yet know exactly when these will arrive.
The current development is fracturing the player base of Diablo Immortal. Many are disappointed with the game, as it actually has great potential – as even MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus finds:
Skull & Bones finally shows gameplay and brings exactly the multiplayer aspect we always wanted in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. However, the game is now several years late and comes quite different than it was announced.
What is Skull & Bones anyway? It was not so easy to answer for a long time and to be honest, it still isn’t.
The first trailer for the pirate adventure appeared at E3 in 2017. The first gameplay was already shown in 2018 and a release was promised for 2019. But then it suddenly went quiet about the game. So quiet that many thought Skull & Bones had maneuvered itself into Davy Jones’s locker.
But now there is fresh, new gameplay, a release on November 8, 2022, and insights into what has changed in the last four years. And quite a lot has changed. Because what in 2018 looked like having taken the ship battles from Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and packed them into a standalone game with a pinch of Hunt: Showdown has suddenly taken a different direction.
What are the features? Because the multiplayer with its intrigues, the struggle for the fat loot, and boarding enemy ships are no longer that prevalent. Instead, Skull & Bones relies on the following features:
The ship combat as the main aspect of the game – you rarely leave your ship
A campaign in a sandbox open world, where you start with a small ship and gradually upgrade it to a formidable warship
You follow the same pattern of accepting quests, completing missions, upgrading, and taking on more difficult quests
The entire game is playable solo and offers co-op options to sail together on the hunt
The PvP component that was emphasized in 2018 is now only optional
The new focus is on constantly collecting more loot and thereby improving to unlock new things for your ship
Skull & Bones shows 7 minutes of gameplay – Looting and leveling on the high seas
Different than before, but still exciting
What happened to PvP? If you look at the gameplay from 2018, Skull & Bones still seems like a completely different game. In the old video, you could randomly ally with other players and they could betray you to ultimately get away with the loot from the battle.
This seemed to be the core aspect of the game, but this changed over the last four years. Now PvP is only optional and you don’t really have to flee anymore. Instead, you simply share your open world with enemy ships. What has remained is the hunt for valuable loot that you can still lose.
The optional PvP could be a highlight: Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much to see of it yet. It is also unclear whether it can be motivating in the long term and whether the game mechanics will mesh well or end up in some form of spawn camping.
But the PvP has great potential, especially since the game is coming four years late and just in time.
To catch the big hype from Black Flag, Skull & Bones is a bit late, but currently, the so-called EFT-likes are experiencing a surge that hasn’t been seen before. The games are named after the shooter Escape from Tarkov, but titles like Hunt: Showdown are also good examples.

PvP matches, where you can lose everything and fight fiercely for loot that only one can have.
Even in the battle royale genre, you go home empty-handed if you don’t survive a round. Still, games like PUBG, Fortnite, and Apex are still very popular.
The fact that many fans of such genres are out there is a big bonus for Skull & Bones. Because while it was still questioned at the original announcement in 2017 whether a Black Flag where you can also lose your valuable loot can be fun, we now know better.
EFT, Hunt, and co. clearly show that with the right twists, a concept can work and keep players engaged where you lose everything. And Skull & Bones is still not as merciless as the mentioned examples.
The PvP theme is a bit smaller than expected.
You only lose your loot: Which is already annoying enough, admittedly. But your ship remains intact and you do not have to start all over again with the hard-earned progress when an enemy ship gives you broadside.
Instead, you just had a mission wasted. Which is initially unfortunate, but definitely manageable. Unfortunately, we still do not know exactly how the mechanics of Skull & Bones work here, but with the right twist, it has great potential to impress long-term and hold fans as long as current EFT games can.
If Skull & Bones wants to work, it needs good PvP
Key point game depth: The question remains how much space the optional PvP will take up in the pirate adventure. Because as nice as open-world, co-op sailing, and a bit of looting and leveling are – to engage long-term, a lot is needed. A fully developed PvP mode could help with that.
And the premise for that is given. There are many different weapons in the game. Special abilities and various tactics are also possible. Currently, we cannot say if that is enough for the PvP to become the highlight it should be. It would be desirable after all the waiting.
Ubisoft has proven multiple times that it can offer this depth. Looking towards shooters, Rainbow Six: Siege shines with tactical diversity and practically endless ways to play a match. The Division with its “Dark Zone” is also a good example of a strong PvP mode, as long as the balancing works.
That the ship combat itself is fun has already been proven by them 9 years ago with Black Flag itself.
If Ubisoft manages to bring both together – loot mechanics and strong PvP – Skull & Bones can become a real pirate affair. A feast not only for PvP fans but also for the setting itself. But we can only find out in November.
What do you think about the new gameplay? Do you like the game better as it is now? Or do you look back at 2018 with a sad eye? Did you even have Skull & Bones on your radar? Feel free to let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
343 Industries, the developers of Halo Infinite, want to make unfinished levels from the Halo history playable for the first time. They are getting help from modders. This includes a level from Halo 2, which was shown in the trailer 20 years ago but never appeared in the game itself.
Since Bungie is no longer working on the Halo franchise and is instead responsible for Destiny, 343 Industries is the developer behind Microsoft’s shooter titan.
And although Halo Infinite has been struggling with a content drought since release, the developers managed to score points with fans. They want to revive the iconic “Halo 2” demo from E3 2003 as part of a larger modding project – as well as other cut content that players were never allowed to play.
This trailer shows you how Halo Infinite has been trying to tackle the content drought so far:

Developers and modders make unfinished content playable
This is what the developers have in mind: In a long blog post, 343 Industries introduced their so-called “Digsite” project. Here’s what it’s about:
The developers are gathering content from the Halo history that was never officially playable and was never completed.
They also want to repair unfinished assets so they can make these findings playable in the Halo: Master Chief Collection.
Together with well-known modders from the scene, 343 Industries has split “Digsite” into two teams: Digsite Alpha restores content from before the release of Halo: Combat Evolved, while Digsite Delta is responsible for development leftovers from Halo 2.
For the first Halo, Combat Evolved, they want to restore a version of the game that was originally a real-time strategy game, among other things.
However, the “Digsite” project for Halo 2 is getting a lot of attention in the community. When the first gameplay trailer for the game was shown at E3 2003, it became legendary and created immense hype around Halo 2.
It showcases diverse battles in a sci-fi city called “Earth City,” which left fans salivating back then. Earth City served as the basis for levels 2 and 3 in the game but was never playable in this form. 343 Industries aims to change that now, after almost 20 years.

“This is pretty much everything I’ve ever wanted.” – Metatermin8r
“Are you telling me that after 20 years I can finally experience Earth City for myself? I destroyed a DVD player back then while watching the demo over and over again.” – TemptedTemplar
“I’m so excited. I can’t believe this is actually happening.” – dj88masterchief

After several years of stagnation, a real E3 is finally taking place in 2023. The event is set to offer digital content but will also take place physically. Media as well as visitors are welcome, it says.
The US company ReedPop has now announced that it will host the E3 next year (via GamesIndustry.biz). ReedPop is also behind events such as PAX.
So, 2023 will see one of the largest gaming fairs in the world again. A physical event is even planned for the second week of June.
This is what the organizers say: ReedPop is working with The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) to host E3 2023. Exhibitors and a schedule are still pending but are expected to be shared in the coming months.
The goal is to provide both digital showcases and opportunities for visitors who are present in person. Presumably, there will be the chance to try out some of the games showcased directly.
In recent years, E3 has only been available in a reduced form or was completely replaced by individual events from other exhibitors and organizers.
There were also some smaller events from indie developers, which, however, did not gain as much traction – even though one was even moderated by the English speakers of Geralt and Yennefer (The Witcher).
In the showcases, there were some hidden gems, such as the presentation of a new Lord of the Rings game and even major highlights like the surprise announcement of the Diablo 4 release.
Besides Nightingale, the new survival game from Lord of the Rings was the big highlight of the shows:

In general, however, all shows were seen as rather disappointing. Partly because the event feeling was missing – but also because the games simply could not convince. Even the few games that were really worth it received little attention.
The “trailer storms” of recent years have drained more than hyped in many places and were even really bleak this year, says MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski:
The streamer and YouTuber Niall “Pyrocynical” Comas has lost his partnership on Twitch. Now he claims on Twitter that nothing better could have happened to him.
The British streamer and YouTuber Niall Comas, better known by his pseudonym Pyrocynical, has been trying for months to secure a partnership with Twitch. Although he is a big name on YouTube with over 4.7 million subscribers, this process has dragged on for a long time.
Then at the beginning of 2022, he finally became a partner on the streaming platform, only to lose his status on Twitch again on May 24. He had to switch to YouTube streaming and now claims that nothing better could have happened to him.
Pyrocynical is not the first prominent streamer to have difficulties with Twitch. This video summarizes the most spectacular Twitch controversies of recent years:

Twitch gives streamer a “soft boot”
What exactly happened to him? The streamer was not banned; his channel is still online and has 269,000 followers. However, he lost the partnership with Twitch, so his “Subscriber” button is gone. He no longer earns a cent on the streaming platform. He calls it a “soft boot.”
On Twitter, he says that this boot is the best thing that could have happened to him. He claims that his viewership has quadrupled, as have his earnings. He calls it “the fattest W imaginable”:

The reason for this is known: YouTube is said to pay about twice as much as Twitch, and streamers receive 70% of the money from each subscription. On Twitch, it’s usually only 50%. For this reason, YouTube Gaming is more profitable for streamers like Ludwig:
Twitch accuses streamer of “unfair behavior” when securing the partnership
What led to the Twitch boot? In a YouTube video from May 30, he describes from his perspective what led to the boot from the Twitch partnership and how he assesses it. The video has already garnered over 1 million views:

In the email from Twitch that Pyrocynical received and reads in the video, the reason mentioned is “unfair behavior” when applying for the partnership.
Specifically, he reportedly requested a partnership from Twitch North America after having been denied this partnership by Twitch EMEA (Europe-Middle East-Africa). That was not acceptable, which is why the partnership was revoked.
Pyrocynical is not the first Twitch streamer to be forced to switch to YouTube. Dr Disrespect also appreciates the money rain on YouTube but particularly misses one thing about Twitch:
The grind in Dead by Daylight is a major point of criticism and is supposed to be reduced. But players are angry – because the developers are doing it all wrong.
What is the problem in Dead by Daylight? Unlocking new perks requires a lot of time and a huge amount of blood points. Currently, the grind increases exponentially with each new character and makes it nearly impossible to unlock all perks. Newcomers, in particular, face several hundred hours of playtime – just to have all perks on a single character.
What should be changed? Dead by Daylight wants to simplify acquiring new perks and tie them to the prestige level of the respective characters. For example, if you have Claudette at Prestige 3, then all other survivors have Claudette’s perks at Rank 3.
On paper, that sounds good, and the developers even promise a reduction of the grind by a whopping 75%.
So what is the problem? The developers’ numbers are wrong and do not take into account other adjustments made in the same patch. Because there are 2 serious changes that will massively change the earning and spending of blood points.
The two perks “Barbecue & Chili” and “We’re gonna live forever” lose their components with which you could earn additional blood points. Both perks could increase blood point earnings by up to 100%.
The prestige of a character will now cost 50,000 blood points. Currently, increasing the prestige level is free, but comes with the loss of all items.
Even though the community comes to different conclusions in various calculations, the grind may actually end up being even worse than before in some cases. Especially the additional 50,000 blood points that players have to pay for leveling up make players angry. Because leveling up the prestige level is no longer an option. Once you reach blood net 50, you must spend 50,000 blood points to increase the prestige level.
While you can simply refuse to do that, the character will not be able to unlock new offerings, items, or addons – because the blood net is locked with the “prestige requirement”.
How the community reacts: In the Subreddit of Dead by Daylight, the problem has been discussed for days. Here are some of the comments that received a lot of upvotes:
[…] If you ask me, the whole problem is simply how slowly one receives blood points in general. With or without this update, it takes thousands of hours to unlock all perks, simply because you receive blood points so slowly. [The patch] helps to reduce the grind after you have unlocked the perks, but it still takes forever to unlock them in the first place.
ExiledMythos
These changes are 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
Prestiging grants all perks [of the character] for everyone. Great! But removing learnable perks means that you HAVE to prestige to learn the perks, which means you have to level up 10 additional levels in the blood net with another 50,000 bonus cost. Really?
No prestige limit, but you are reset to level-1 blood nets and have to spend 50,000 blood points every time or you can’t access the blood net at all. Which damn idiot thought that was a good idea?
Chazrat69
If you want to have all the perks on a single character, then your grind increases by 500,000 blood points per 3 perks. Incredible, right?
Ana1661
With all the criticism, it seems likely that the developers will reconsider these changes and make a few adjustments. However, so far there has been no response from Behaviour – but the patch is also not live yet, only available on the test realm.
As soon as there are any news, we will of course report on it.
Other players also suspected that DPS could rely on the raid leader to handle all difficult functions with the push of a button in the future.
On YouTube, some users already referred to this addon as ‘cheating’ or as an ‘extended arm for multiboxing,’ because in essence, one player could control several accounts – in part.
User Belegnole bluntly said: ‘This should be banned and removed from the game. Also, this ability to use such should be completely removed.’
However, there were also players like Troodon80, who considered the feature good for supporting sleepyheads or inexperienced players. However, all involved should have to activate this feature manually, and it should not be active by default (via ESO Forum).
Developer bites back but still removed the feature
What did the addon developer say about the criticism? The developer of Hodor Reflexes published another update two days later, in which he removed the feature. However, he sarcastically added a new feature that did not actually exist:
The function introduced in the last update has been replaced by a new one: You can now automatically report a player if they do more DPS than you or ignore the raid leader’s commands.
Otherwise, he reacted sharply and sarcastically to the criticism of his addon. Nevertheless, in the end he succumbed to the criticism.
What do you think of such an addon? Should a player have the ability to control and manage entire raids alone? Should another player implement such an addon? Or does that clearly go too far?

MeinMMO author Mark Sellner appreciates addons, especially DPS meters:
In The Elder Scrolls Online, players can develop their own addons and then install them. One of these addons is called ‘Hodor Reflexes’ and received a new feature in June 2022. Raid leaders could temporarily press a button to prevent all players from using further abilities. However, many felt this went too far. The feature has since been disabled, but it continues to be discussed.
What exactly was this feature? The group leader was given a function through the addon to prevent other players from using abilities. This can be important when certain boss mechanics require a so-called damage stop, and teammates do not respond in time.
The duration of the damage stop could even be determined by the raid leader themselves, as stated in the official description. Furthermore, the function was automatically active and could not be disabled.
Ability to stop damage to bosses when the greedy damage dealer ignores the raid leader again. You can set a special hotkey for this and adjust the duration if necessary (addon settings->misc->stop damage duration).
However, as a prerequisite, the other players also had to have the ‘Hodor Reflexes’ addon installed. It is used by many players, even as a DPS meter for raids.
Why was this so useful? There are bosses in the game that heal during certain phases when they take damage. It is essential that players do not deal any damage. Occasionally, a damage dealer might miss this phase. With the addon, the raid leader could ensure that everyone stops attacking.
Is it still working now? No. The developer removed the feature after a lot of backlash. However, the basic function is still present in the API, so other addon developers could make use of it.
A few weeks ago, the new expansion High Isle was released, and here you can watch the release trailer:
‘Such a feature only makes everything worse’
How was this feature received? In the ESO forum, this innovation in Hodor Reflexes was discussed for several days. In the thread, players shared their concerns that such an addon would only worsen the situation with inattentive DPS players. For example, Baertram wrote:
But features like these will not solve the problem, but rather make it worse. Every addon and every tool that helps simply press 1, 2, 1, 2 will further decrease brain activity and make them watch videos on the second screen or whatever.
My best raid runs were the ones where even the DPS knew what was happening when, what the boss was doing, and why. We trained that beforehand in theory, with videos and guides.

There has been a lot of debate about the microtransactions in Blizzard’s cross-platform mobile MMORPG Diablo Immortal since its release in June 2022. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, CEO Mike Ybarra defended himself and claimed that 99.5% of the game is actually free.
This is the situation:
In June 2022, Blizzard brought the popular action RPG series Diablo to mobile devices with Immortal – the title is also running in a beta version on PC
Despite all the controversies, the game had a strong launch and is also successful in Germany
CEO Mike Ybarra stands behind the monetization despite all the criticism and sees it as an advantage
At the center of the pay-to-win controversy of Diablo Immortal are the Legendary Gems. See more about it in the video:

Microtransactions Ease Access
Mike Ybarra just wants what’s best for his players: There is heated debate over microtransactions in games. For many, the monetization in Diablo Immortal has reached entirely new heights.
While there are some free content options for casual players, those who want to achieve something usually have to dig deep into their pockets. Raising a single Legendary Gem to level 10 already costs €1,000, and with bad luck, significantly more. A complete character can theoretically cost over €500,000.
However, it is claimed that the only desire behind this is to make Diablo Immortal as accessible as possible.
When we think about monetization, […] it was, “How do we give millions of people a free ‘Diablo’ experience where they can literally do 99.5% of everything in the game?”
Mike Ybarra in the Los Angeles Times
What is the truth behind the statement?
How free-to-play is Diablo Immortal? The fact is that Diablo Immortal can be downloaded for free. Both the main storyline and dungeons and raids can be experienced without spending a cent, as long as you are willing to progress a bit slower.
It is also true that players are deliberately tempted to spend real money. At the beginning, players are literally flooded with rewards, later on, progress stagnates and even one of the most important currencies becomes scarce.
More about the pay-to-win mechanics, including assessments, can be found in our podcast on the subject:
In a follow-up email, a Blizzard spokesperson stated that the overwhelming majority of players do not spend any money. However, there were no statistics on this.
Instead, they cited over 110,000 positive user reviews in the app store. This is supposed to imply that the complaints are not representative of the gaming community as a whole.
Moreover, monetization only comes into play in the endgame.
The philosophy has always been to move forward with great gameplay and ensure that hundreds of millions of people can complete the entire campaign at no cost.
Mike Ybarra in the Los Angeles Times
From this perspective, Immortal is an excellent introduction to “Diablo”. Nearly half of the players are completely new to the Blizzard universe, according to collected data.
Mike Ybarra sees a need for improvement primarily in the gap between “Diablo 3” and “Diablo Immortal”. A whole generation of players has been missed there.
Not everyone is bothered by pay-to-win mechanics. Some, who lack the time or simply the desire for daily grinding, see them as a convenient shortcut. Others find the purchased advantages unfair.
What do you think? Are microtransactions a good alternative for busy individuals, or should they be limited to cosmetics?

We will embed an image here where you can admire the style of the Season 2 cosmetics:
You receive all rewards from the free pass and additionally the following items:
Weapon skin at level 1
Armor skin at level 40
2 x Legendary 2-star gem: Zealous Fang
3 x Legendary 1-star gem: Seled’s Weakening
55 x Scoria (Reliquary of Hell)
10 x Normal gems
12 x Normal emblems
36 x Challenger keys (Tomb of Fahir)
2 x Legendary emblem
2 x Chat emojis
What does the Collector Pass offer? For 15,- € you receive all rewards from the free path, the items from the Empowered Pass, and additionally the following bonuses:
14 level jumps
Portal cosmetic
Avatar frame
With the Collector Pass, you directly gain a lot of items and experience points in your account.
How long do I have for the Battle Pass? The Season 2 pass runs until August 4 and a total of 28 days.
Is it worth it? Unlike in other games, such as CoD: Warzone, you do not receive premium currencies from the pass to refinance it. This is a decisive disadvantage of the Battle Pass in Diablo Immortal.
However, the premium path at 5 euros is relatively cheap. Competitors often charge 10,- euros. If you play a lot, this path can definitely be worthwhile. If you are unsure, wait until the end and decide shortly before the end of the pass whether your earned levels are worth the 5,- euros.
With the Collector Pass, it depends on whether you really want the two extra cosmetics and/or the fast progress. Otherwise, it is better to stay away from it.
Season 17 in Destiny 2 was story-wise concluded this week. Players experienced the last cutscene and witnessed the final story fragments. The next chapter will likely follow with the start of Season 18. However, Bungie has already left some hints pointing to a season featuring the most ruthless NPC in the loot shooter: the Drifter.
What is happening in Destiny 2 right now?In week 7 of Season 17, the end of the story finally took place. The Guardians discovered Calus’s location and followed him, aiming to put an end to his machinations with the Darkness – but without success. Calus is gone, but the threat is not defeated.
The next events of the story are likely hidden until Season 18. However, Bungie has left some clues about what might come next and why a cunning little rat could be at the center of it all.
The Drifter in the spotlight of Season 18?
What points to a Drifter season? If you have read the lore, you will notice that the Drifter and Eris are currently quite busy. They are working together to figure out what the Egregore spores and their fungi are all about. The Drifter even claims that they scream when you fry them.
The cold gaze of the Drifter
The story’s end of Season 17 last revealed a radio message from Eris. In this message, she wants to continue her investigations in the Moon Pyramid. However, this message is not directed at you, but addressed to the Drifter. He is the one referred to when Eris uses the term “rat.”
Eris has been using this name for the Drifter for a long time now. Mainly because this designation suits his character well.
But it’s not just this that points to the ruthless Gambit leader. Since Beyond Light, the Drifter has not had a spotlight appearance in Destiny 2, despite clearly being the character with the most experience with the Darkness.
He could provide the Guardians with further insights into the Darkness in Season 18 with his casual sayings and help them understand it better. Perhaps even the modified red-eyed ghost of the Drifter will assist you in taking down Calus and the Witness.
What could Season 18 look like? No one knows for sure yet, but if the Drifter is in the spotlight, some weapons from the first Drifter season could reappear from the vault.
Minor adjustments for Gambit or even the return of old maps or implementation of new ones could bring fresh air in the particle mode. Ultimately, even the mere appearance of the unscrupulous lightbearer would bring joy to many Guardians.
Despite the fact that the Drifter has had the most trouble dealing with the Darkness and its beings on an icy planet, Bungie has yet to give him much attention.
Perhaps it’s time for the Drifter to finally bring a bit of light to his dark history and for the Guardians to find out what his past looks like.
What do you think about the idea that Bungie might dedicate a second season to the Drifter? Do you think it’s cool and would you celebrate it? Or would you prefer to have Ikora in the spotlight instead? Let us know!

It seems Fran is digging herself a hole when it comes to NFTs. Hardly does she provide a statement to improve her situation, and some use the words against her again.
How did Fran handle the negative reactions? In her statement on TwitLonger from January 25, she went into detail explaining what troubled her:
Streaming was not as easy for me as it may have appeared. I was harassed almost every single day since my franplayshalo days. It ranged from a creepy comment to images I absolutely did not want to see in my DMs […] The extreme loneliness and the unhealthy habits I developed through streaming caused a lot of damage. I won’t even start about the bullying. My entire self-esteem was dependent on likes and numbers. I wish I never had to experience that again.
What do you think about Fran’s NFT drama? Let us know in the comments.
In the comments, many users express negative opinions about it:
@XhyliFPS: “Yes, her statement struck me as somehow odd, good for her, I guess?”
@VegetaSasukeo: “She got greedy. She follows trends. First, she jumped on the OW train for years, then when she saw the collectible card openings, she jumped on that train to make quick money, then onto NFTs. I wonder how she can sleep at night knowing she has profited from both these trends and these people.”
@syrasmineoce: “Oh. I always thought she was cool (I wasn’t that involved in the Overwatch scene), but now I guess not. How terrible.”
How did Fran respond? Subsequently, Fran explained on Twitter what she meant by the statement “NFTs are scams.” Namely, that most of these NFT projects do not last very long and lose value over time.

The former streamer Francine “Fran” Vo was known as a player of Overwatch on Twitch. However, there is a big NFT drama surrounding her that repeatedly causes negative reactions on Twitter.
Who is Fran? Fran was a Twitch streamer who gained fame primarily as an Overwatch player. Her channel has 251,597 followers (via Twitch).
However, she is no longer active on the platform. According to the Twitch schedule, Fran last streamed at the end of 2021.
Lately, she has become less of a topic in the community due to her Overwatch gameplay and more due to her statements regarding NFTs. She has repeatedly spoken about NFTs, leading to discussions under her statements. Find out what NFTs are here.
Here you can see a video about the first successful streamers on Twitch:
The NFT drama surrounding Fran
The entire NFT drama unfolded repeatedly following the same principle:
Fran published a statement about NFTs
Many negative reactions and discussions followed
Fran justified herself
Received criticism again
This post, for example, sparked discussions on January 22, 2022:
Tweet translation: “Do Overwatch fans who hate NFTs know that the number 1 NFT in trading volume at this moment is being made by people from the Overwatch team?”
This was not well received. Here, too, Fran tried to save the situation with a tweet, stating that the tweet intended to show the hypocrisy of OW fans who would harass OW people dealing with NFTs.
There were also predominantly negative reactions: The users @SFSEgo and @alka_seltzer799 responded, for example, with: “Okay, but did you think about the fact that we don’t like anyone dealing with NFTs?” and “Okay, now I’ll also harass the people in the Overwatch team dealing with NFTs. Thanks for the motivation!”
On January 25, 2022, Fran then published a long statement on TwitLonger. In this, she explained that she had no intention of pushing NFTs onto her fans.
Furthermore, she apologized for leaving streaming without any prior warning. She felt that while streaming, she owed something to her fans when they had given her money.
After several months, there were once again discussions about Fran’s NFTs
What reignited the discussions about Fran? After a few months during which the NFT drama became quieter, Fran spoke up on July 1, 2022, on reddit.
She published a statement explaining that she did not quit streaming because of NFTs and that trading NFTs had been a side hobby. She hoped for a greater understanding of her position through her explanations.
There was a passage that once again led to negative comments on Twitter. Among other things, Fran wrote:
[…] I would like to start by saying that I believe that 99 % of NFTs are scams and that I have never intentionally sold an NFT to a follower/viewer. As far as I know, since everything is anonymous (the listing, the sale, and the purchase of NFTs). However, the fact that NFTs are a scam does not mean that they are not profitable […].
She further explained that she was now so good at NFT trading that she had made more money in three months with NFTs than in her entire 5-year Overwatch streaming career.
On Twitter, people reacted predominantly negatively again when user @NyanSox reposted a part of Fran’s text on the same day.
What did Twitter users say about Fran’s statement? User @NyanSox already writes as a title for the reblog that the excerpt seems strange to him.
Fran admits that NFTs are scams, that she hurts people, and that it is okay to hurt others because they should know better, and Fran profits from it.
Fran was generally not happy with her career as a streamer and had some issues beyond the entire NFT thing as well.

The Cosmic Flux is currently frustrating many players. However, World of Warcraft promises to finally change that – and soon.
Leveling Twinks is currently quite easy in World of Warcraft. Blizzard has removed most of the grind from the game, so the 2nd or 3rd character can catch up relatively easily. Only one resource still poses problems: the Cosmic Flux. However, this will be addressed in the coming days.
What is the current problem? This can be easily pinpointed with one term: Cosmic Flux. This resource is primarily needed for two things in World of Warcraft:
Crafting legendary items at the maximum rank (291).
Converting items into tier-set pieces at the Creation Catalyst.
Especially converting items requires a solid amount of cosmic Flux. This means that secondary characters often have to farm the Flux for hours, while the main characters of the respective account often have several tens of thousands of Flux units saved up that they will never use again.
Converting items into tier-set pieces is considered essential in many areas, as tier-set bonuses significantly enhance characters. This means a lot of Flux is needed.
Here you can create tier-set pieces – and it consumes a lot of Cosmic Flux.
What does Blizzard want to change? In the official WoW forum, the developer Scariizard spoke up and explained that they want to “adjust the availability of cosmic Flux with the start of Season 4 or shortly thereafter.”
While the specific plans for how this might look are still being discussed, the goal is likely clear: Players should be able to obtain cosmic Flux more easily, which currently poses a significant nuisance and forces many characters into content they are not particularly interested in, so they can fully unfold their potential in raids, dungeons, or PvP.
What solution is most likely? If we look at how Blizzard has addressed the issue with other resources, there are basically two ways in which cosmic Flux could be made more accessible in the future:
The existing sources of cosmic Flux (dungeons, Torghast, treasures, etc.) will be drastically buffed, granting much more Cosmic Flux.
Characters can buy a new item and send Cosmic Flux to secondary characters.
Whether Blizzard opts for one of these two options or chooses a completely different path is still unclear.
When will the change happen? Season 4 starts on August 3, 2022, so in about 4 weeks. The change should take place then or shortly afterward, meaning all players must be patient for a while longer or farm the Flux traditionally in the meantime.

Genshin Impact: Trailer zu Patch 2.8
Leaks about the abilities of Anemo user Shikanoin Heizou
What can Heizou do? Heizou will be a 4-star character and will use a catalyst as a weapon (via Honey Impact).
Normal Attacks: Performs up to five forward strikes and kicks that deal Anemo damage.
Strong Attacks: Consumes a certain amount of stamina and executes a kick that deals Anemo damage.
Fall Attacks: Heizou damages all enemies in his path. When he lands, he causes Anemo area damage.
Elemental Skill:
Press: Deals Anemo damage with a fist strike.
Hold: Deals Anemo damage. You gather energy to deal higher damage per stack (“Declension”).
Declension: You can stack up to 4 stacks. Once you reach the maximum stacks, the next fist strike will be even stronger. Declension lasts for 60 seconds.
Cooldown: 10 seconds.
Special Ability:
You unleash an exploding kick in the air, dealing Anemo area damage and drawing nearby enemies and items in.
If the kick hits an enemy affected by Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, they will be marked with “Wind Pattern Iris.”
Wind Pattern Iris explodes shortly after and deals area damage with the element the enemy was affected by.
A maximum of 4 enemies can be marked with Wind Pattern Iris from a single kick.
An enemy cannot be affected by multiple Wind Pattern Iris and multiple elements simultaneously.
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Energy Cost: 40
You can view gameplay and animations of Heizou in the reddit post:

1st Constellation: When Shikanoin Heizou is switched in, his speed for normal attacks increases by 15% for 5 seconds. He also gains a stack of Declension. The effect can be triggered once every 10 seconds.
2nd Constellation: When you trigger the kick of the special ability, it pulls nearby enemies in even stronger and the suction effect lasts 1 second longer.
3rd Constellation: The talent level of the elemental skill increases by 3.
4th Constellation: When you cast Wind Pattern Iris on enemies with the kick of the special ability and the iris explodes, you regenerate 9 elemental energy. Each additional explosion from one kick returns 1.5 elemental energy. In total, you can recover 13.5 elemental energy with one use of the special ability.
5th Constellation: The talent level of the special ability increases by 3.
6th Constellation: Each stack of Declension increases the critical rate of the fist strike by 4%. When you execute a strong fist strike with 4 stacks, its critical damage is increased by 32%.
Passive Talents:
“Pre-Existing Guilt”: Reduces your stamina consumption for all team members by 20% when sprinting. The effect cannot be stacked with other similar effects.
“Paradoxical Practice”: When Heizou triggers a swirl while on the field, he gains a stack of Declension. The effect can be triggered once every 0.1 seconds.
“Penetrative Reasoning”: When the elemental skill hits an enemy, the elemental mastery of all team members except Heizou himself is increased by 80 points for 10 seconds.
If you want to prepare for Heizou’s release, here are the leaked materials needed for his upgrades:

Upcoming Banners in Patch 2.8
Which character banners will appear? The 5-star characters Klee, Kazuha, and Yoimiya will receive reruns in Patch 2.8. Also, Shikanoin Heizou as a 4-star character will get a banner.
Additionally, the Tapestry of Golden Flames banner is returning. This banner increases your chance of obtaining the 5-star character Yoimiya.
What weapon banners are expected to appear? It is still unclear. Currently, there is only a leak of a new one-handed weapon that is supposed to be called “This is a sword” (via reddit). However, it is unknown whether it will be a 4-star event weapon or a gacha weapon.
What should the sword be able to do? It reportedly has a base attack of 541 at level 90 and has attack % as a sub-stat. The weapon’s effect enables you to trigger a “Hewing Gale” every 8 seconds when normal attacks, strong attacks, or fall attacks hit the enemy. This then causes the Hewing Gale to deal area damage based on 180% of the attack. Additionally, it increases your attack by 15% for 8 seconds (via reddit).

“A Summer Sea Sojourn”: Similar to Patch 1.6, the event sends you to summer islands where you can explore and collect event currency. For 2,000 pieces of this currency, you can redeem 1x the character Fischl as a gift. This was confirmed by the developer in the livestream.
Additionally, there is a new outfit for Fischl as well as one for Diluc. There are rumors that Diluc’s skin will include a scroll.
The Hidden Strife event takes you to a place where “the Traveler and Paimon notice something from the past that could pose a danger”.
There will be a hangout event for the new character Heizou.
Furthermore, you can re-enter the Golden Apple Archipelago map through events, which has been revamped by the developers.
New furniture for the housing system (via reddit). They mainly resemble the character Klee.
There will be new quests in your adventurer’s license book (via reddit).
More story and background information for Diluc and Kazuha (via reddit).
You can choose whether to uninstall past quest resources, like audio files (via reddit). However, you can reinstall them after uninstallation, the decision is not permanent. This allows you to save storage space.
In the “further future”, Nahida and Amber are said to be the next heroines to receive a skin. These two skins are supposed to feature butterflies.
Thus, Pokémon GO is currently focusing more on the respective contents of the corresponding seasons. So fans of Giovanni can only hope that he will soon be a stronger part of the seasons again.
For the battle weekend during the anniversary event, you can definitely look forward to an encounter with Giovanni and Shadow Latios.
Do you mainly play in the village? And have you also experienced issues with too few stops and gyms? What solutions would you wish from Niantic? And do you believe we can still hope for Ex-Raids or Kecleon in 2022? Feel free to share your opinions here on MeinMMO in the comments.
For this reason, we asked Philip Marz whether we can expect to encounter Giovanni more frequently in the future:
Some time ago, we introduced what we call Seasons in Pokémon GO, where we try to carry out this narrative consistently, both in marketing and in the live ops that go along with it or vice versa. This naturally conditions the contents that we see in the game. And there are now different contents defined first.
This means that currently we are on the topic of Season of GO. […] everything revolves around the GO Fest, Summer of GO, we have the 166th anniversary. But of course, the available content will always be given its due space to be in focus.
When that will occur in this specific case, I can’t say, to be honest. However, it is also important for us to find the right balance and address the various interests of the community. Some naturally want to challenge the leaders or the bosses, while others enjoy doing other things, and we always have to try to say okay, when do we bring which content, at what time, for which target group?
And you know how diverse the game has become, fortunately. And for us, it is always a challenge to meet that demand. That is definitely something we are working on, and something one can look forward to soon.
is the detailed response from Philip Marz

As some trainers repeatedly point out on social media, encounters with Giovanni have become increasingly rare in recent months. While at first you could meet the Rocket boss monthly, it is now more like once a quarter.

Just like with the Ex-Raids, players must continue to hope that this “right moment” will not take too long to arrive.
Encountering Giovanni more frequently
As some trainers repeatedly point out on social media, encounters with Giovanni have become increasingly rare in recent months. While at first you could meet the Rocket boss monthly, it is now more like once a quarter.
For this reason, we asked Philip Marz whether we can expect to encounter Giovanni more frequently in the future:

Do you mainly play in the village? And have you also experienced issues with too few stops and gyms? What solutions would you wish from Niantic? And do you believe we can still hope for Ex-Raids or Kecleon in 2022? Feel free to share your opinions here on MeinMMO in the comments.

Thus, Pokémon GO is currently focusing more on the respective contents of the corresponding seasons. So fans of Giovanni can only hope that he will soon be a stronger part of the seasons again.

In Pokémon GO there is ongoing criticism from players in rural areas that they cannot use the game in the same way that players in cities can. We at MeinMMO spoke with Philip Marz from Niantic, and he explained how this issue should be addressed.
What is the issue? Trainers in Pokémon GO have not only the chance to catch Pokémon but can also participate in raids, secure tasks at PokéStops, occupy gyms, and battle against other trainers as well as Team GO Rocket.
However, especially players in villages feel disadvantaged in some of these functionalities compared to players in (large) cities. This is mainly due to the fact that there are often only a few PokéStops and gyms in rural areas.
To do a raid or to earn coins in the gym, such players often have to travel to larger cities. For this reason, those affected have been calling for solutions for a long time.
What Niantic says about the issue of village players
Players in rural areas could only secure a few event tasks due to a lack of PokéStops, resulting in significantly fewer chances for a shiny.
For the GO Fest in Berlin, we met with Philip Marz, Head of Regional Marketing Pokémon GO (EMEA), and asked him how Niantic is addressing this issue.
“That would deviate from the core of the game ambition”
What solutions might trainers envision? One idea from the community that could contribute to solving the problem is to establish additional PokéStops in areas that currently have few of these points. At least, this would be conceivable for certain events by some players.
Such an approach was also suggested by the reddit user 000666777888 following the research day (via reddit.com): “They could add additional temporary stops so that every cell, no matter how large it should be, suddenly has at least x stops. They add these temporary stops during GO Fest events and the like.”
What does Niantic say about this proposal? According to Philip Marz, it is not an option for Niantic. As he explained in our interview, it is an essential part of Niantic’s ambition that PokéStops and gyms have a solid connection to an interesting object in the real world. Therefore, it contradicts their vision to simply expand the game board and place additional stops.
Specifically, he expresses himself as follows:
We are, of course, aware of the challenge of player experience in places that are not in a metropolitan area and are actively working on solutions to address this specific issue. For us, it is fundamentally important that these waypoints in the game always have a connection to the real world. This means that if there are these waypoints, whether a PokéStop or a gym, it is also very, very important that they are connected to something, let’s say for the public, an interesting element that really exists.
This is basically the ambition, and that makes it so difficult to simply say, “We are now making a broader game board,” because that would deviate from the core of the game ambition.
However, we are actively working on it, and you can look forward to a possibility very soon. Even for those fans who live or play in remote areas, there will also be an opportunity to make their gaming experience more diverse and appealing. I can’t say anything about that yet, but we are aware of the challenge and are actively working on it.
says Philip Marz from Pokémon GO about this
Thus, the criticism from village players has been heard by Niantic, and according to Marz, active work is being done on a solution. This means these trainers should soon be able to benefit from a better gaming experience. However, he could not yet reveal what the solution will look like. Affected individuals will have to be patient a bit longer.
What does Niantic say about Ex-Raids, Kecleon, and Giovanni?
In addition to the criticism from village players, we also confronted Philip Marz in the interview with further issues from the community. We wanted to know from him if trainers can still expect a return of Ex-Raids in 2022, when Kecleon will finally come into the game, and if Giovanni will be found more frequently in the future.
Return of Ex-Raids: Before the start of the Corona pandemic, Ex-Raids were regularly held in Pokémon GO. These were special raids that required an invitation to participate.
At a time set by Niantic, you could participate in an Ex-Raid gym against an exclusive raid boss. However, due to contact restrictions, Ex-Raids were temporarily put on hold. Many trainers now wish for a return, which is why we asked Philip Marz if it will happen in 2022.
We are, of course, aware that it was a very special experience. Not only the experience of gathering at these locations in the real world during these events, but also the Pokémon that were featured there. We are very aware of that. As for the exact planning and implementation, I can’t say anything today.
says Philip Marz about that
Kecleon: Many players painfully miss Kecleon, a Normal-type Pokémon from Generation 3. The reason is the completion of the Hoenn region PokéDex and the related Platinum Medal. To achieve this, all Pokémon from this region must be caught.
Kecleon
Although Kecleon is not yet found in the game, it has a placeholder in the PokéDex. Therefore, for the 135 monsters needed to obtain the Hoenn Platinum Medal, currently only 134 can be caught. That’s why we wanted to know from Philip Marz when Kecleon will come into the game.
We cannot say anything about that at this time either. But again, it’s about content. We want to ensure that we bring highly exclusive content that is very much in demand in the community and creates great excitement and emotions at the right time. And when that right time is, we will find out together.
explains Philip Marz

Do you mainly play in the village? And have you also experienced issues with too few stops and gyms? What solutions would you wish from Niantic? And do you believe we can still hope for Ex-Raids or Kecleon in 2022? Feel free to share your opinions here on MeinMMO in the comments.

The Twitch streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp experienced a match live in League of Legends that didn’t seem right to him. Therefore, he scoured the statistics afterwards and found that his jungler and the opposing supporter were collaborating. The e-sports organization Team Ambition, where both players were active, reacted immediately.
What did Tyler1 notice?
In one match, the jungler on Tyler1’s team had a weak performance. After 15 minutes, he was 0/5/0 and wasn’t even seen on the top lane where the Twitch streamer needed support – even though he obviously masters every position in the game.
Already within the match, Tyler1 had the suspicion that something was not right. So, he scoured through the match history of the players and came across a clear inconsistency.
The opposing supporter Chocovanille had consistently played with the player R5 Jungle in a match over the past few weeks. However, they could not register as a team since there is only a SoloQ from the rank Master onward.
R5 Jungle was either in a team with Chocovanille and won the games or ended up on the opposing team and lost seemingly intentionally.
The curious part: Chocovanille was apparently officially R5 Jungle’s coach.
How obvious the two have executed the joint registration is shown in Tyler1’s clip:

What exactly is the trick? Chocovanille and R5 Jungle registered for a ranked game at the same time and only played when they landed in the same match. The goal was apparently to boost Chocovanille’s ranking, as R5 Jungle deliberately lost when he ended up on the opposing team.
This cooperation is referred to as boosting and is not allowed in LoL.
What is curious about the boosting action?
On one hand, Chocovanille proudly celebrated her rise to rank Master on Twitter. Many fans now perceive this as very bold, especially now that the cheating has come to light. Tyler1 even showed this tweet live on stream. In the meantime, the account has been set to private.
On the other hand, Chocovanille was still the coach for the Team Ambition Sussy, the youth team of Team Ambition, until the livestream. There, she coached among others the jungler Anti, who is supposedly behind the account R5 Jungle.
Chocovanille was apparently boosted by the jungler she herself trained.

How did the esports organization react? A few hours after the stream, there was a reaction. Luis “Rey” Lagunes, Head of Staff at Team Ambition, announced on Twitter that the two were expelled from the team.
Team Ambition does not support such behavior and it violates the integrity of the organization.
Although Team Ambition is just an amateur team, it was fighting in the qualifiers for a spot in the LCS Proving Grounds, where the training teams from CLG, Cloud9, or TSM also play.
So far, there has been no statement from Chocovanille and Anti. Both have set their Twitter accounts to private, and Chocovanille even changed her account name to avoid being easily found.
While it’s possible to cheat in the queue in LoL with tricks, the MOBA is otherwise nearly free of hackers and cheaters. How is that?
Did you also find it interesting as a child to imagine what it would be like to spend the night in a gigantic toy store and do whatever you want? Or did you want to see your childhood room from the perspective of your action figures? A 2-year-old shooter on Steam is going viral right now because it makes that possible!
Which game is it about? Hypercharge: Unboxed is a shooter that brings you back to various places from your childhood as an action figure. One example is a toy store, another is a child’s room.
The shooter allows cooperative play in teams or PvP and is developed by a small studio called Digital Cybercherries, which consists of only five employees.
Hypercharge: Unboxed was already released in 2020 on Steam but received new attention on Twitter in recent days. A post about the game even gained over 360,000 “likes”.

From the Toy Store to the Child’s Room
What is the game about? In Hypercharge: Unboxed, you take on the role – or rather the plastic – of a toy action figure. You can even visually customize it in different ways and create your own toy hero in a sense.
With the action figure you embody, you then dive into various toy battles. One of them you experience in online as well as local offline coop. There you play with up to four players against the AI and protect your mission objective: the Hypercore.
In the process, you earn XP and unlock skins to customize your action figure and weapon. You also earn turrets, traps, and walls that you use to build your defensive position on one of 10 different maps.
The maps are various places where you can find toys. These include not only a toy store and a child’s room but also a family’s garden and the kitchen where the child once again left its action figures lying around.
The garden behind the house is also a map in Hypercharge: Unboxed
Nostalgia and Childhood Memories in a Shooter
What makes Hypercharge: Unboxed special? When we look at the reviews of Hypercharge: Unboxed on Steam, it seems that the shooter becomes a special experience precisely for that reason, as it looks in the trailer.
Anyone who enjoyed playing with action figures as a child, liked the “Toy Story” movies, or enjoyed going to toy stores with their parents might appreciate the design of Hypercharge.
Overall, the shooter impresses with the nostalgic feeling of childhood memories and the associated charm of toy stores and messy children’s rooms.
The game feels like a trip to the past. But instead of a single-player experience, you dive into action-packed multiplayer or co-op battles with your friends.
“Feels like a nearly perfect game that definitely captures the fun of childhood”
What do the players say? Hypercharge: Unboxed has only 1,908 reviews on Steam as of July 5, 2022, but 91% of them are positive. This is reflected in the players’ comments:
mossiprose via Steam: “It’s great. I enjoy it every time I play. My kids like it too. It’s fun.”
Mercenary542 via Steam: “Pretty nice little game. Reminds me of games like the ‘Green Plastic Army Men’ series by 3DO.”
Bats via Steam: “I played the demo and was so impressed that I had to buy the game! So much heart has been put into this game. The graphics are unbelievable and evoke a lot of nostalgic memories of playing with action figures as a child.”
Prof. Blowhole via Steam: “A fun game to play with friends when feeling nostalgic about childhood. It really gives you the feeling of being a toy shooting at other toys.”
Taycat via Steam: “Hypercharge feels like a nearly perfect game that definitely captures the fun of childhood when playing with toys and action figures.”

Is the game also coming to consoles? Currently, Hypercharge: Unboxed is only available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on the Nintendo Switch.
The developers are already working on an Xbox version. Following that, a PlayStation version is expected, but a date or exact timeline is not known.
Do you think Hypercharge: Unboxed looks interesting, or is it not for you?

The years without BlizzCon will soon be over. The big trade fair from Blizzard will likely return and once again attract you to America.
There are now quite a few large gaming conventions – but hardly any has had as loyal fans in recent years as BlizzCon. Due to the Covid pandemic, BlizzCon was canceled in recent years and it was even uncertain whether it would ever return. But now there is relief: The big convention for all Blizzard fans will likely return next year.
What was said? In an interview with the LA Times, Mike Ybarra from Blizzard spoke about the plans for BlizzCon. He said:
We previously announced that we would pause BlizzCon while we consider a new edition, with which we will return to a live event and that allows us to celebrate the community. We recently hired a new BlizzCon head, April McKee, who is working hard on this plan. We aim to bring BlizzCon back in 2023.
This makes it quite clear: Next year, all Blizzard fans can probably expect a new edition of BlizzCon.
What is BlizzCon? For many, BlizzCon is primarily a major promotional event where Blizzard talks about planned and current games. Major stage shows present cinematics and trailers and unveil new games.
For real fans who are more deeply interested in their games or the whole surrounding, BlizzCon is also always an opportunity to learn more details. There are often “Q&A” sessions with developers or extensive interviews, for example, with voice actors. For others, BlizzCon is an occasion to find like-minded people and hold a guild meeting.
More about Blizzard and their games can be found here:
What happened to BlizzCon? Due to the Covid pandemic and the resulting contact restrictions, BlizzCon has been canceled in recent times. Temporarily, it was replaced by a “BlizzConline”, a purely online version of BlizzCon, but already in 2022, the decision was made against such an event – there was simply too little to show and they wanted to take more time and focus resources primarily on game development before organizing another event.
In recent years, however, BlizzCon has somewhat fallen from grace. This was mainly because many felt that there were hardly any major new announcements. In addition, there were certain mishaps, such as the botched announcement of Diablo Immortal with the now-infamous phrase “Don’t you guys have phones?”
At that time, Blizzard had significantly alienated its predominantly PC-affine community and was even booed – a first at BlizzCon.
Is there already a date for BlizzCon 2023? No, not yet. Traditionally, BlizzCon has always taken place at the end of October or the beginning of November during the years of the live event. If Blizzard wants to adhere to this schedule again, we would have to wait over a year until BlizzCon 2023. But that also gives the developers a bit more time to perhaps prepare some gaming highlights…
Are you looking forward to the return of BlizzCon? Or do you think that a gaming convention of a single developer is outdated or simply out of date?

Today, on July 7th, the 1st update for Diablo Immortal has finally been released. After more than a month, there are new contents in the game. MeinMMO tells you what’s included in the latest patch.
When does the update come? Since 3:00 AM server time on July 7th, the update has been active. So you can start testing the new contents right away. The maintenance for the patch took place the day before.
If you played yesterday, you don’t need to download another update. Otherwise, the download size is approximately 450 MB, although some players report that they had to download the entire game again (around 12 GB).
With the new raid boss Vitaath, one of the new contents was already playable ahead of time. However, the update brings even more new contents.
The 1st update includes numerous changes and bug fixes. However, one of the biggest criticisms has not been addressed: the legendary gems. In the video, we reveal how they work and where to find them:

These are the new contents: With the reset at 3:00 AM, a new battle pass has been activated. This again offers 40 levels with rewards and subsequently for each additional level a chest with the slowly dwindling Hilt. Rewards include:
Scrap and magical dust
legendary equipment
the legendary gems ‘Fervent Fang’ (2 stars) and ‘Seled’s Weakening’ (1 star)
The battle pass offers, as before, a free path and a paid upgraded path. Cosmetics like the new Blood Oath set and the associated weapons are available for the upgrade for €4.99. The portal skin, a portrait frame, and 14 levels of ascent cost €14.99.

The only new content besides Vitaath is a weekend event that takes place from July 15th to July 18th at 3:00 AM server time each day. The ‘Hungry Moon’ is a world event where you should collect moon shards.
You can exchange the shards for blessings. For 7 blessings, you get a random reward, and with ‘enough blessings’, the moon is said to bestow its ‘favor’ upon you. What exactly this entails, we do not know yet.
These changes exist: In addition to the new contents, there are some adjustments to existing content. Among other things, monks and wizards receive a buff. Both were on the tier list of Diablo Immortal at the lower ranks so far.
For monks, the damage of Exploding Hand is increased, as well as some legendaries adjusted that revolve around this spell. The wizard receives improvements to Arcane Wind, the legendary Syldra’s Teeth, and Blitznova.
Gameplay from all classes can be seen here in the video:

Additionally, several bugs have been fixed. One of the most important changes is the adjustment of spawn rates in Zoltun Kul’s Library and Mount Zavain. Both locations have been popular farming spots so far, but were also criticized for AFK farmers and bots.
Furthermore, several minor bugs in the general gameplay, conflict cycle, battlegrounds, and the UI have been fixed. You can find more details in the official patch notes and regarding the hotfixes for the PC beta.
What comes next? In the outlook, the developers reveal that more changes are coming. What exactly remains under wraps. Only one new piece of information is available: The next update will be released at the end of the month (July) and is expected to include class switching:
