The Zombie Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 can raise some questions when you play it for the first time. We show you tips for beginners.

These tips are mainly aimed at beginners and inexperienced players. Experienced players will already know most of the tips on our list – especially if you have already played the zombie mode of Black Ops 6 and followed MeinMMO.

But let’s get to the first tips:

Tip 1: Explore Augmentations

In Black Ops 7, there are again the so-called augmentations that you can and should use to improve your equipment just like in its predecessor. However, you need to explore the different augmentations. Before starting a round in zombie mode, you should therefore ensure that you are actively researching an augmentation. You must collect XP to explore, which means a lot of grinding, and you want to save time.

Tip 2: Find the right spot and stay there

Find a spot/path where you can kite even large hordes of zombies easily, and stay there. Move along the edge of your kite area to be able to run further along the other edge at the end of the path. This way, you can take one round after another.

Tip 3: Always kite solo

If you are playing with friends, each should have their own kite spot (see Tip 2). You want to split the horde among all present players. If 2 players fight in the same spot, it just creates chaos, and you suddenly face too many enemies and can get surrounded in the worst case.

Tip 4: Leave the last zombie alive and take a breather

If you need a few seconds of peace or need time to buy or upgrade your equipment, you can intentionally leave the last zombie of a wave alive. This one will follow you.

The next wave will only start when you take down the last zombie. If you wait with that, you can either take a breather or give your friends in co-op a chance to visit the restroom.

Tip 5: Grab a weapon with a silencer

Before you start a round, you can customize your equipment and modify your starting weapon – and this is also recommended. Make sure to equip a silencer on your weapon, as shot zombies will drop more scrap.

Tip 6: Improve your weapons

You can improve your weapon rarity at the Arsenal Machine with scrap, especially if you do not want to buy from the wall or do not have the necessary essence to buy. A high rarity will be important during the round to deal more damage.

Tip 7: Don’t underestimate your car

Your car, which you control through zombie hordes on the map “Ashes of the Damned”, is not just a means of transport. When you follow the quest of the map, you turn it into a “Pack-a-Punch” machine. You can then punch your weapon at the back of the car, giving it a larger magazine and causing more damage. Plus, it looks cooler then. (Caution, the ammunition for the weapon becomes more expensive after punching.)

Tip 8: Repair the car

Walking between the different areas of Ashes of the Damned is noticeably more difficult than driving the route with the car. However, your car cannot withstand an infinite number of zombie attacks – so repair it.

As you race through the landscape, you will see red and green bulges on the ground. The red ones hurt, you should avoid them. But if you drive through one of the green bulges with your car, it repairs your vehicle.

Tip 9: Drink cola regularly

Keep an eye out for the Perk-a-Cola machines. These soda machines give you powerful advantages like more life or faster reloading. With the right perks, surviving becomes significantly easier, so you should acquire the perks in a timely manner.

Especially important are:

• Juggernog (increases maximum health)
• Quick Revive (faster health regeneration + faster revive)

Also recommended:

• Speed Cola (faster reload)
• Stamin-Up (run faster)
• Deadshot Daiquiri (increased critical damage)

Tip 10: Use the jump pads wisely

Instead of driving with the car, you can also pay 500 essence and use a jump pad. This will shoot you across the map to another area. This can be useful, but should be used wisely.

If you catapult yourself to the other side of the map, you will likely be far from the car and cannot “punch” your weapon. Playing with random teammates can make it complicated to return to the car. So try to avoid being too far away from your teammates and the moving Pack-a-Punch machine.

This mission, also known as an Easter Egg, is not explained, and you must figure out the steps yourself. To save you the stress, we will show you how the Easter Egg for Ashes of the Damned works.

What do I need to know before the Easter Egg? You can also complete the Easter Egg of Ashes of the Damned alone, but be aware that you are on your own without team members. The mission is simple and can be successfully completed without experience and guesswork with our guide. The most important thing is the ability to survive. If you can do that, the rest is a piece of cake.

Step 1: Build Ol’ Tessy

When you spawn for the first time, you will land in front of the Janus tower. Head to the marked server room, open it, and smash the marked Janus grid. T.E.D.D. will now spawn, which you need to pick up and mount on Ol’ Tessy. Now you can use the vehicle and drive around the map. To discover new areas, you just need to crash through the wooden barriers with Ol’ Tessy.

Step 2: Turn on power everywhere

With Ol’ Tessy, you will now visit every location on the map, which are:

• Blackwater Lake
• Ashwood
• Farm

Once there, you need to activate the motor generators. Simply shoot all the yellow pustules off the machine. You have one minute per machine to do this. If you disregard the time limit, you must wait out your current round before you can shoot the pustules off again.

When all the pustules on the outside of the motors are shot off, shoot the last large pustule on top of the motor. Now all the zombies with purple eyes will be killed, and you can activate the motor in a nearby building.

Step 3: Upgrade Ol’ Tessy (Only from round 5)

Once you have activated all the motors, the next step is to take Ol’ Tessy to the diner. Open the doors and defeat a zombie that looks like a waitress. This zombie will drop the key to the freezer in the kitchen of the diner upon death. Open it and collect the head of the Margwa. Now take your Ol’ Tessy back to Ashwood and install the recently found head in the garage.

Step 4: Craft the Necrofluid Glove

Next, you need to find the Necrofluid Glove. Unfortunately, this cannot be pulled from the Mystical Box like the other wonder weapons, so you must complete this step. To do this, proceed as follows:

• Defeat Über-Klaus at the Janus tower (available only from round 8 – located west of the spawn point next to the burning truck)
  • Tip: Only challenge Über-Klaus if you have strong weapons, as he is not just tough, but also fast. It’s best to equip the Cryo Mod to slow him down.
• Pick up the chip
• Go to Ashwood to the cell of the real Klaus and insert the chip into the electronic lock
• Use 4 flashbangs on Klaus to wake him up
• Go north towards the Cosmodrome and look for a basement with a locked door containing a canister
• Call Klaus to the button of the door and let him stomp
• Now stand in front of the red scanner and wait until the scan is complete
• Take the canister and fill it at each of the three motor generators
  • Tip: You have a limited window of time to visit all generators, so it’s better to take the route: Ashwood -> Blackwater -> Farm. This is more problem-free and relaxing.
• Place the filled canister in front of the creepy box in the basement of the farm (located under the barn)
• Now use the jump platform to the Janus tower and look at the roofs of the three farm buildings from the air
  • Explanation: There you will find three symbols that you need to remember and then enter at the box.
• Go to the box and enter the symbols
  • Important: You cannot enter a symbol 2x or 3x. Each side (except for the one with the eye) only has a set of selected symbols. Enter these by interacting with each side using your reload button. Once you’re done, you can interact with the eye to take the glove.
• Complete the mini-game by capturing the green balls and retracting your fired projectiles.

Step 5: Find ingredients for the serum

The next big step is finding the ingredients for the serum. There are a total of 6 ingredients, and they are tied to tasks that you need to complete. Once you have completed all previous steps, you can check off the ingredients one by one without interruption. So now proceed as follows:

Ravanger Eyes

To obtain the eyes of the Ravangers, you must take them out with one of the saw traps. There is one each in the diner and on the farm. You can reliably spawn these beasts especially when the Hellhound round starts, which usually happens every five rounds – earliest in round 5.

Hoard Husk Chunks

Hoard Husk Chunks can be found on the large roads leading to the larger towns. To obtain them, you need to shoot one of the purple pustules that are usually located at the edges of the roads with your Ol’ Tessy. Use the recently mounted Margwa skull, which can fire three constant lightning beams.

Widow’s Latern

To obtain Widow’s Latern, you need to find the container with spores. This is located in the house by Blackwater Lake in the kitchen under the sink in a cupboard (southern direction). Pick up the container.

Now head to the farm, as outside on the street you will find the dead carcass of a cow covered with reddish mushrooms. Interact with it to spread the spores. From now on, you must let three rounds pass before Widow’s Latern can spawn. Pick up the mushroom from the carcass.

Human Bones

You can find the human bones on the farm in the red barn. Go inside and jump on the straw bales. The zombie hanging closer to the southwest is your target. Take a tomahawk and aim at his foot – this will be cut off and dropped. Now use a Molotov cocktail and burn the body part. Now pick up the bones from the burn site.

Mysterious Limb

To obtain the Mysterious Limb, you must defeat a Zursa with the lightning beam of your Ol’ Tessy. This spawns only from round 16. A reliable location is the road near the farm. After grilling the bear, you can pick up the limb. If the item does not drop, it’s probably because you killed a blue-eyed bear. You will only receive the item from orange-eyed bears.

Powder of Forgotten

To obtain the Powder of Forgotten, you need two items:

• The Perk-a-Cola “Wisp Tea”
• The Necrofluid Glove

Now go to Ashwood, past the motor generator to the end of the village. Stay in the eastern direction and then enter the last building on the left side – there you will see a mirror. Generate a wasp with your perk and lead it to the mirror. Once the mirror is awakened, you must use your glove and shoot at the mirror. Now the mirror breaks, and the powder remains.

Step 6: Brew the serum

Once you have collected all the items, you need to head to the Cosmodrome. On the premises, there is a building with a lab. On the table, all your collected ingredients will be presented. First interact with the powder. In front of you, 3 codes will form on the board that you need to decipher. The symbols each take one letter of the alphabet.

The codes tell you which three ingredients you need to activate to trigger the next step. The order is different with each run, so we cannot give you a solution here.

Once you have activated the three correct ingredients, you must add blood to the vessel, which you do by interacting with the vessel. Now there will be a lockdown during which your health will not regenerate. So try to survive the round until the lockdown is over.

Step 7: Find 3 keys to open the pyramid

Once the lockdown is over, you need to free the small locked pyramid in Ashwood from its chains. For this, you need three keys that are hidden in different places and will temporarily curse you.

Red Key

You can find the red key near the Orda Graveyard, and it can spawn in three different locations in each playthrough. To get the key, use your Necrofluid Glove and shoot either at one of the two T-Rex heads or at the back part of the overturned “Project Janus” vehicle.

Once you have picked up the key, you need to go back to Ashwood and interact with the pyramid. Note that the key disables your health regeneration. So it’s best to travel there quickly with your vehicle.

Green Key

The green key is located in the area “Grounded Ship”. The key can be found either in a small room with a half-open door on the ship in the southwestern direction, under the ship to the east on the metal barrels, or in a blue container to the north.

This key slows you down and prevents your sprint. So it’s important that you take your vehicle to reach Ashwood before the zombies tear you apart. With the key, you then head back to the pyramid to redeem it.

Yellow Key

The yellow key is located in the “Crashed Rocket” area near the Cosmodrome. Shoot either the fallen power pole, the roof where a rotating satellite dish is located in the southwestern direction, or the cliff to the north if you want to go to Ashwood.

The key only ensures that you have a melee weapon equipped. So walk back quickly to the pyramid and remove the last chains.

Step 8: Upgrade Ol’ Tessy (Teslagun)

After you have freed the pyramid, you will need to watch a short cutscene. After that, you will spawn in the same location and can pick up a new item for your Ol’ Tessy, the Teslagun. Equip the item on your vehicle.

Step 9: Feed the lightning at the diner

Next, aim your Tesla weapon at a fragment of a clock tower above Ashwood. Then take your Necrofluid Glove, fire at the charged tower, and retract your shot to recharge yourself – you should now glow purple.

Now go to the diner and make sure there are lightning strikes above the map that are constantly hitting. If so, go to the roof of the diner and fire your glove at the large clock – the time should now pass more slowly.

Your task now is to revive three zombies and feed them to three different lightning strikes. Note that you cannot feed all lightning strikes at once solo. You must trigger the sequence, but you can only do this every other round.

Blue Lightning

Use the Perk-a-Cola Meat Grinder and perform a melee attack on the register in the diner. The cashier should now resurrect. Lead her to the roof and guide her into the blue lightning.

Yellow Lightning

For the yellow lightning, summon Klaus in the workshop so that he can stomp next to the vehicle on the lift. A mechanic should now resurrect. Also take him up to the roof into the yellow lightning.

Red Lightning

For the red lightning, you need the trucker. Ram the back of the red truck with Ol’ Tessy. The trucker should now resurrect. Also bring him to the roof into the red lightning.

Step 10: Enter codes in the Cosmodrome

Now it’s time for the codes in the Cosmodrome. Go back to Ashwood and reload your clock with your Teslagun. Absorb the energy with your glove and quickly jump to the Cosmodrome. On the roofs, you will find rotating satellite dishes at two different locations.

You need to hit these with your absorbed effect to slow them down. However, because the effect of the tower clock fades after a projectile from the glove is fired, you must go back to Ashwood to regenerate the clock to gain the effect again.

After you have slowed down both dishes, you need to get into a room with various screens in the Cosmodrome in the northwest direction. Now you need to enter a code in the correct order again.

On the right side of the room, three symbol sequences will repeat, which always stand for two letters. Use the symbol alphabet we embedded for the serum and decipher the code. It can only be one of the following words:

• Engine
• Launch
• Rocket
• Weapon

Now go to the 6 screens in front of which there are ghosts, and shoot the red buttons when the number pops up that corresponds to the sequence of the alphabet to your discovered word.

If you did it correctly, the rocket will launch, and you can continue.

Step 11: Perform the ritual on the farm

Recharge your glove again in Ashwood and go to the farm. Go to the farmhouse and look at the clock in the dining area. Now use the recorded time and position yourself in the correct places around the dining table – you can recognize the right position by the engraved numbers on the floor. The father’s head should be spinning. If you did this step correctly, his eye will glow red. Now you need to charge the father with your glove.

Now you need to perform the ritual. For this, collect 4 items from 4 different locations on the farm, which are:

• The teddy bear – Location: 1st floor of the farmhouse in the cupboard next to Stamin-Up
• A razor – Location: On the workbench north of the farmhouse in a garage
• A chalice – Location: In the basement of the farmhouse in a bathtub
• A doll’s head – Location: 1st floor in the red barn next to a hay bale

With all the items, go to the center of the farm map and place the items in a circle. Your task now is to survive long enough until the ritual is completed. It is important to make sure that the zombies do not deal too much damage to the items; otherwise, the ritual will be considered failed, and you will have to try again. If you survive long enough, you will have completed this step.

Step 12: Shoot the film reels in Blackwater in the correct order

Recharge your glove again and go to Blackwater at the pier. There you will see a blue aura that you need to interact with. Once you collect it, you need to go inside the building and shoot the film camera with your glove.

Now pay close attention to the screen and memorize the places and their order. You need to visit these now and shoot the film reels with your glove. The locations include:

• Front of the building
• Back of the building
• The shed
• The fisherman’s hut

Once you have shot all the film reels in the correct order, you need to go to the first floor of the building and approach a bedroom with a double bed. Summon Klaus now to take something from the box in front of the bed. Meet Klaus at the pier to activate the sequence before the boss fight. Before you do this, you should have parked Ol’ Tassy in front of the building in Blackwater, as you need to complete a little mini-game.

Step 13: Activate all ghosts with Ol’ Tessy while visiting all locations

Once you have interacted with Klaus, the souls around the pyramid are released, and you need to pick them up in the three passages to the individual towns. In each passage, there are 3 souls that shimmer white. Drive over them before leaving a passage. Also, use the green pustules along your way to repair your vehicle.

If you have picked up a total of 9 souls, you will be teleported into the pyramid and must now fight the boss.

Step 14: Defeat the final boss

The fight is very simple in theory, but the boss’s attacks are fierce and can annihilate your entire squad. The first phase simply lets you fight the boss. Your task is to find one of the heads that is not armored (gray damage numbers) and focus your fire on it. You can deal damage with your weapons or take Tessy and ram the monster with a boost.

The second phase starts when you have reduced about 80% of the boss’s health. The monster will now charge up, throw rockets around, and become immune. You must now grab Tessy and drive into a purple light beam to charge your vehicle.

Once Tessy is charged, boost into the monster to trigger a 10-second damage phase. You can now shoot into the gaping bottom of the monster. After the time limit, you will need to repeat the process until the boss is dead.

Now a cutscene will occur, and you will receive your reward.

How many trophies are there? Overall, Where Winds Meet has 34 trophies that you need to complete to earn the Platinum trophy on PlayStation and achieve 100%. There are also 34 achievements on Steam, which are identical to those on PlayStation. 6 of them are hidden.

The bad news first: Certain changes can only be made for a fee and are very expensive. However, especially regarding appearance, you can still change some things for free afterward without having to pay. MeinMMO explains what is free and for what you need to pay.

Change Appearance in Where Winds Meet

What is free? Basic changes to your character are and will remain free. This includes things like facial hair, eye color, and makeup. You can find these in the “Makeup” category.

What is paid? Changing the size, shape, and style of facial features falls under the category “Customization,” for which you need a specific item: a Waterwoman Scroll. Right at the start of the game, you already have the item for free in your inventory and can change your appearance once. After that, you will need to purchase the scroll in the shop.

Change Gender in Where Winds Meet

What is free? Changing gender is not free in Where Winds Meet. You definitely need an item that you have to purchase.

What is paid? For changing gender, you need the item “Transformation Pill” from the shop. With that, you can change your gender once. The item costs 1,280 pearls, which is about 20 Euros.

In the Chinese version, however, the developers are said to have distributed the item once for free to all players (via Reddit.com). In the EU version, the item has not been distributed for free so far.

Whether the free item will be available again is currently unknown. However, changing gender is already possible via the shop.

Changing hair color in Where Winds Meet is not that easy. MeinMMO explains to you what you need to do to not have to stick with the black starting hair.

How can you change your hair color? The bad news first: Directly in the character editor at the beginning of the game, you cannot change your hair color at will. You have to start with the default black hair in Where Winds Meet. Only later can you change your hair color.

Once you have unlocked the in-game shop, you can purchase items that allow you to change your hair color.

How to change your hair color in Where Winds Meet

What you need: To dye your hair in Where Winds Meet, you must acquire one of the following two items:

• With Inkshade Hair Dye, you can select basic, muted hair colors. The price is 50 pearls, which is approximately 80 euro cents. Alternatively, you can exchange the item for 5 Earth Essences,
• With Timeless Hair Dye, you can choose vibrant, stronger colors. This item is only available in the drawing shop, and you need a Harmonious Core for it.

Go to the shop in the game and switch to the drawing shop directly under “highlighted”. This is the first highlighted button. Then switch to “Drawing” and find the timeless hair dye at the very bottom.

The Inkshade Hair Dye can be found at the very bottom in the “Earth Essence” tab or in the main tab “Items” in the drawing shop.

How to dye your hair:

• Open the “Appearance” tab in the main menu and switch to the “Workshop” tab.
• Here you can select the “Dyeing” section.
• Now you can select the hairstyle you want to dye.
• However, note that some hairstyles, including the starting hairstyles, cannot be dyed. Hairstyles that can be dyed are marked with a small multicolored icon.
• After selecting the hairstyle you want to dye, choose “Basic Hair Color” (Inkshade Hair Dye) or “Advanced Hair Color” (Timeless Hair Dye).

What makes the setup strong? The muzzle brake and grip provide better recoil control, while the underbarrel improves aiming stability and weapon movement when aiming. The buffer springs also enhance the horizontal and vertical recoil control of the assault rifle. For the sight, you can choose one that suits you best, or omit the sight and select a different attachment, such as a larger magazine.
