What do you need balls for? To catch the monsters in Pokémon GO, you need balls. Especially for participating in events, it is advisable to stock up on them in advance.
But how do you actually get balls? Below, we have listed 9 ways and explain what you need to pay attention to in each case:
How do the balls in Pokémon GO differ? In Pokémon GO, there are a total of 3 different types of balls: Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls. They differ not only visually but also in their function.
Poké Balls: The red and white Poké Balls are available to you from the beginning and are especially suitable for weaker Pokémon with low CP, as they rarely escape from the ball.
Great Balls: You can recognize the Great Balls by their blue and white appearance and the two red stripes. This ball becomes available to you from level 12 and increases your chances of catching a monster.
Ultra Balls: The white and yellow balls with black stripes further increase your catch chances. They are particularly suitable for monsters that display a red circle when being caught. You can use them starting from level 20.

So, it’s best to consider a route in advance that includes as many PokéStops and Gyms as possible and head outside. If you don’t want to look at your phone all the time, you can use some gadgets like the GO Plus or Poké Ball Plus to assist you.

Once your buddy has a present for you, you can see it in your buddy view as the leaf-like package in front of them. Besides berries and revives, balls can also be hiding in there.

4. Completing research tasks
When collecting balls, research tasks can also be helpful. You can find special field research at PokéStops daily. Many of them unlock encounters with various Pokémon after solving them, but there are also tasks where you receive balls.
These include tasks like using 3 Power-Ups on Pokémon and are usually very simple and quick to solve. Collecting field research can also be excellently combined with your walk to spin the photo discs.
In addition to an AR task, you can keep a total of 3 other quests in your field view. If you want to spin for more tasks, you either need to solve these or delete an uninteresting research.
Besides field research tasks, Niantic also periodically releases limited research, collection tasks, or special research like the current special research for the Mele-Mele Island. These can also reward you with balls.
5. Leveling up

Epic Games has excluded a Twitch streamer from a major Fortnite tournament. The streamer suspects that her previous work as a porn star is the reason. Meanwhile, the developer has stated in a statement why she was not allowed to participate.
Who is it about? Adriana Chechik is a former porn star who has been active on Twitch since August 2019. She currently has over 700,000 followers on the streaming platform and has streamed over 2,000 hours.
Chechik wanted to participate in a special tournament in Fortnite. To do so, she needed confirmation from both Twitch and Epic for participation. However, the latter has reportedly denied her participation.

Why was she excluded from the tournament? She wanted to participate in the Twitch Rivals in Fortnite. Twitch Rivals is an eSports tournament and competitive online event consisting of Twitch streamers and professional players. However, her participation was denied by Epic Games, the developer behind Fortnite.
Chechik believes that Epic Games rejected her participation in the “Twitch Rivals Fortnite No Build Event” due to her previous work in the porn industry. She stated that she was accepted by Twitch, but Epic excluded her. She says in her stream (via twitch.tv):

We are very sorry that this happened. The request to @TwitchRivals was to work with you to remove any adult references from the background of your stream due to the rating of our game. We have no problem with you participating in events or streaming Fortnite.

Roguelike is one of the gaming genres established by a defining game. Here’s how it came to be and how the genre has evolved.
Where does the genre name come from? The namesake of the genre first appeared in 1980 for Unix-based systems. The game was called “Rogue: Exploring the Dungeons of Doom” or simply Rogue and was a dungeon crawler.

Fun Fact: Actually, the game “Beneath Apple Manor” is considered the first game of the “roguelike” genre as it was released 2 years before Rogue (1978). It contains all the core elements of a roguelike but was not successful enough to become the namesake of the genre.
How is a “roguelike” defined? While today many games contain individual elements of Rogue, they are by no means considered proper representatives of the genre. In 2008, the “Berlin Interpretation” was established for roguelikes, providing a more “traditional” definition.
According to this definition, such a game must possess the “high value” aspects that were aggregated from the original genre-defining games. These include:
Procedurally generated dungeons (single fixed hubs such as starting areas are okay)
Permadeath, death is final and cannot be undone
Turn-based combat system
Hack’n’slash gameplay that consists solely of combat, with no option for a peaceful outcome
Each action/interaction must be available to the player throughout the game
The goals within the game must be achievable through different approaches and strategies (for example: you can break down a closed door or pick the lock)
The player must manage their items correctly to survive
The player must explore the maps and discover new items, with progress resetting after each death
In addition to the 8 defining gameplay elements, there are a number of smaller “low value” points. They can be present in the game but are not mandatory.
This includes, for example, the ability to control only a single character or that the dungeons must consist of rooms and corridors.
What is a “rogue-lite” then? Depending on which gaming circles you move in, the definitions for roguelike games can be less strict. Today, the term is generally used for many games that, according to the Berlin definition, actually fall under “rogue-lite”, meaning a “watered-down” version.
Developers have experimented a lot with various genre combinations in recent years, resulting in a whole series of games that are now seen as strong representatives of roguelikes, even though they lack some of the “high value characteristics”:
Games like Binding of Isaac and Hades both do not have turn-based combat systems
Slay the Spire and Enter the Gungeon are a card game and a shooter, not RPGs
Binding of Isaac is one of the most well-known representatives of rogue-lites.
Moreover, the individual rounds within these games are shorter than in traditional roguelikes and their difficulty often lies well below the brutal requirements of the classic representatives of the genre or is adjustable.
Strictly speaking, these games are therefore considered rogue-lite (via Wikipedia), even though they contain core elements such as procedurally generated dungeons, permanent death, and resource management.
Rogue and roguelikes have had such an influence on gaming that their core elements are also used outside the genre, for example in MMORPGs like WoW and FFXIV, where there are individual procedurally generated dungeons.

What are these structures? The strange structures discovered by u/Jelly1153 are a trap for the Argentavis. This was invented by YouTuber captain fatdog.
The Argentavis is a very useful creature and is a true jack-of-all-trades in ARK: Survival Evolved. The bird has an enormous carrying capacity, is a flying workbench, and a solid fighter. Additionally, it halves the weight of numerous resources it carries in its inventory.
The Argentavis is also one of the reasons why ARK is made too easy by flying creatures. Therefore, it is very valuable to tame this all-rounder with little effort.
What do you need for the trap? You can build the Argentavis trap by captain fatdog with just a few resources. You will need only 300x Stone, 161x Wood, and 111x Straw. From this, you build the following items:

If you prefer a written explanation instead of the video, which you can always refer back to, we describe the process in 8 short steps:
Step 1: Place a Stone Foundation on the ground, ideally not far from an Argentavis spawn.
Step 2: Place a Stone Double Door Frame (T1) on the Stone Foundation
Step 3: Place another Double Door Frame (T2) on the first (T1)
Step 4: Now place a third Double Door Frame (T3) on the adjoining side
Step 5: On the highest Door Frame (T2), place a Stone Trap Door Frame. Make sure this is right above the foundation and acts like a roof.
Step 6: On the standalone Door Frame (T3), now place a Stone Railing (S1)
Step 7: On the opposite side of the standalone Door Frame (T3), now place a second Stone Railing (S2) that runs parallel to the first (S1).
Step 8: Finally, you need to place a Reinforced Double Door in the standalone Door Frame (T3). Ensure that the door opens inward. However, when you lure the Argentavis into the trap, the door must be closed.
A Door is the Key to Success
How does the trap work? At first glance, the trap seems like the Argentavis could easily fly out of it. But this is not the case if you use the trap as follows:
You lure the raptor through the wide open side of the trap where there are no Door Frames or Stone Railings placed into the interior of the trap. You can even sit on a Pteranodon for this, as it can fly straight through the double Door Frames. The Argentavis cannot do this because it is too large.
Then you walk outside the trap to the Door Frame with the Double Door inside and open it. When the door is open, it juts into the flight path through which the bird flew into the trap. The Argentavis can no longer leave the trap due to its size.

Clever players have found a trick to secure 6 months of Crystalline Aura in Lost Ark in exchange for 1,925 Royal Crystals. But you don’t have forever to do this.
This is what users have figured out: In a thread on the Lost Ark subreddit, user divinebaboon posted a useful tip for fellow players. He advised people to buy the Crystalline Aura with the premium currency, the Royal Crystals, because it is particularly profitable right now.
For 1,925 Royal Crystals, which are worth about €20, you can use a trick to get enough Blue Crystals to buy 6 months of Crystalline Aura. A bargain that won’t last long.
Here’s how the trick works: To obtain the Blue Crystals, you first need to create a new character. This character must be created on a server where you haven’t had any characters before. Servers in other regions work too.
Go with this character to Trixion and choose a class. It must be a class that has been available since the EU launch. Classes like Arcanist or Destroyer won’t work with the trick.
Once you arrive on the starter island of Trua, open the shop and look for the level completion package. This package is available once per server. If you’ve already bought it on this server, you’ll need to find another one.
If you haven’t bought the package on your main server yet, you can do so normally with your main character and don’t need a new one.
If you’ve already purchased the level completion package, you’ll need to choose another server.
If the package is available on your server, log out with the character. Then open the Powerpass menu and get the pass for Vern for 825 Royal Crystals.
Log back in with the character and skip all prologues and tutorials.
Once you’re in Vern, open the in-game shop and look for the level completion package and buy it for 1,100 Royal Crystals.
When you open all the chests within the package, it gives you enough Blue Crystals to buy 6 months of Crystalline Aura. Since the Aura is account-wide, you can also use it on other characters.
If you enjoy leveling, you can even skip the Powerpass step and level the new character to level 50 yourself to get the level completion package. That would then be 6 months of Aura in exchange for 1,100 Royal Crystals.
How long will this last? You have until September 7th to implement this, as the price for the Vern Powerpass will be raised again then. However, you should hurry, as users on reddit fear that Amazon might fix this trick beforehand.

“Come at me,” he scoffed, manfully unfazed as he faced his certain doom. “Don’t keep me waiting.”
Just as their attack was about to strike, the world erupted in searing heat and blinding light. As the flames receded and the firestorm passed, Marcus found himself standing alone, blinking in a field of ash.
The crackle of fresh coals and the deep, feminine chuckle unveiled the presence of his savior. Turning around, he found himself near a vision that was as beautiful as his previous situation was terrible.
Clad in a daringly cut robe that hugged her curvy body tightly, revealing much of her flawless, unusually red skin, the figure made her way across the scorched ground, her fingers slowly gliding over the shaft that was undoubtedly a wizard’s staff.
“Thank you, my lady,” Marcus spoke, bowing as his eyes wandered over her shapely legs, across her wide hips and taut waist, lingering for a moment on her voluminous bosom as he straightened up to meet the face that was as lovely as it was unconcerned about the destruction she had just unleashed.

The party game Catch Me! was my first appointment at gamescom ever. The game concept is incredibly simple: you play tag with up to 4 players. However, it is not one hunter who has to catch everyone else, but exactly the opposite.
One player is selected and has to collect points scattered across the static maps. The other three try to stop him. If they catch him, they become the new hunter. The first one to collect 10 points from the map wins.

In Pokémon GO, the grand finale for the GO Fest 2022 is currently taking place, but it seems like Niantic has a special surprise in store for you. Some trainers are now reporting a mini-event after the event. We at MeinMMO have looked into what it entails and which monsters you will get.
What is happening in Pokémon GO right now? Today, on August 27, 2022, the grand conclusion event for the GO Fest 2022 is taking place in Pokémon GO. After the popular event was celebrated particularly extensively this year and brought along a global event weekend in June and 3 live events, it is now set to have its glorious ending.
However, some trainers are now reporting that a mini-event will start immediately after the finale, speculating that this is a teaser for the upcoming season.
These monsters will be featured in the mini-event
At exactly 6:00 PM local time, the grand GO Fest finale ends. Or does it? According to trainers from earlier time zones on reddit, there should be a special mini-event occurring right after the conclusion of the event.
As idriskitforabiscuit writes in their post, countless spawns of Lunatone and Solrock appeared in New Zealand immediately after the event, at 6:00 PM. But neither of the monsters is listed by Niantic on any of their event pages. For this reason, idriskitforabiscuit asks the community if this could be an unannounced mini-event.

What kind of Pokémon are these? Lunatone and Solrock are two Rock and Psychic Pokémon from the 3rd generation. They visually resemble a moon and a sun. Together, they can only be found in the game during special events.
Outside of these time frames, they spawn in different regions, which they alternate with the summer and winter solstices. They are primarily found during the night. Both Pokémon do not have pre-evolutions or evolutions.

What do other trainers say about the spawns? idriskitforabiscuit is not alone in their suspicion of a mini-event, as other trainers have made similar observations. For them too, countless specimens spawned after the conclusion event, and not just for a few minutes. You can read the following reports in the comments (via reddit.com):

Many trainers on reddit are puzzled in the comments as to why Niantic brings such spawns after such an important and large event. Many quickly conclude that this must be an announcement for the next season. The reason for this includes the events of the past few days.
What has happened in the last few days? Anyone who completes the second special research titled “A Shining Reunion” all the way to the end will find a special hint in the texts.
Professor Willow reports his experiences in Ultra Space, according to which he was surrounded by a presence “warm as the sun and calm as the moon.” For many trainers, it was clear from the beginning that this must refer to Solgaleo and Lunala, two legendary monsters from the 7th generation.
With another find of 3 new Mega Evolutions, where space images also played a significant role, the hypothesis of a possible upcoming Ultra Space season got louder.
What does this have to do with the mini-event? Since nothing is known about the new season yet, some players can imagine that Niantic wants to tease the first content with Lunatone and Solrock. If you haven’t used all your free raid passes, check if you’ve secured one for later or for tomorrow. If not, spin the photo disc of a gym.
If you want to continue catching Pokémon with incense after the event, you should set it now, as it will also work for 2 hours.
If you are still out and have some PokéStops and/or gyms nearby, spin their photo discs. This way, you will secure some experience points through the XP bonus in the last minutes. You might also spin out one or another cool field research before it changes again.
05:20 PM: In the remaining 40 minutes, you should once again keep a close eye out for the new shinies of the day. You may be lucky enough to encounter a shiny Pikachu with Shaymin scarf as well as Shiny-Somniam. Ticket holders can also meet shiny Icognito N and Icognito X through their incense for the first time.
05:10 PM: Ticket holders can also secure the mysterious Pokémon Shaymin in its Sky Form in the last part of the special research. Furthermore, anyone who already has a specimen from the past GO Fest events can also change its form since today.

What you should know before the closing event
To make the most of the GO Fest finale, we have summarized the most important information about the event below.
Can you play only with a ticket? No, the closing event can basically be used by all trainers. However, the contents differ. Those who play with a ticket can benefit from additional spawns and bonuses. But there will also be plenty of content for trainers who do not wish to purchase a ticket.
Where can you get a ticket? Especially trainers who purchased an event ticket for the global GO Fest in June can breathe a sigh of relief, as the ticket contents for the closing event are already included in that ticket. You do not have to buy a new ticket.
For everyone else, the ticket is available in the in-game shop under the category “Worldwide Events” for about 11 Euros, depending on which provider you use.
You can also have tickets gifted from friends or give some away yourself. To do this, you only need to achieve Super Friend status. If you also have a valid ticket for the finale, the ticket for your friend only costs you 5.49 Euros. However, this discounted gift is limited to a maximum of 3 tickets.
Do all monsters spawn at the same time? No, as you already know from other larger events in Pokémon GO, there are again 4 different habitats for the GO Fest finale in which various spawns will be found. In the following overview, we show you when which habitat runs:
Since August 23, Patch 6.2 has been online in Final Fantasy XIV, bringing new content to the game. Part of it is the Island Paradise, which according to the head of the MMORPG, Naoki Yoshida, should be slower and more relaxed content. Not at all.

However, some FFXIV players understood this statement as a challenge. Since the release in the Island Paradise, they have done a lot, but relaxing was definitely not one of them.
Players completely escalate, reach max level within 24 hours
This is what happened: The Island Paradise generated great excitement among FFXIV players after the announcement, so much so that the team even postponed the content to meet the high expectations. Accordingly, what happened at the actual release was inevitable.
Just 24 hours after the launch of update 6.2, the first players reported that they had reached the highest level on their island.
