Every player had to provide a phone number at the start of Overwatch 2, which did not sit well with some players. With the phone number, you have to verify your account using a code you receive via SMS, so that it can be clearly assigned to you.
Phone number requirement will not be disabled for everyone
What is Overwatch doing about the feature? As Blizzard announced in a blog post, the controversial security feature will be partially disabled. Thus, in the future, all Overwatch players with a linked Battle.net account – meaning all players who have played since June 9, 2021 – will no longer have to provide a phone number (via blizzard.com).
According to Blizzard, the change is set to take effect on Friday, October 7, 2022. Players will also be informed again at that time.
However, the system will not be completely abolished. Blizzard remains committed to combating disruptive behavior in Overwatch 2, which is why new accounts will still need to meet the SMS requirements. Blizzard aims to protect the community from fraud.

Which encounters are particularly worthwhile in October 2022?
Kaumalat: One of the most interesting encounters of these research tasks is Kaumalat. The Dragon and Ground Pokémon has a strong evolution in Knakrack. Knakrack can score with a high attack value and strong Dragon and Ground movesets, which is why it is one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.

Normally, Kaumalat is relatively rare in the game. Those who missed the Community Day in June 2021 can try to secure a strong specimen this way. To get it, you need to achieve 3 fabulous throws in a row. That’s not so easy, but still doable. With a bit of luck, you might even encounter a Shiny.
Trasla: The Psychic and Fairy Pokémon Trasla has two strong evolutions: Galagladi and Guardevoir. Both are also among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. In contrast to Kaumalat, Trasla is much more frequently found in the game.

If you are still looking for a strong specimen for your collection, you should secure the task “Spin 5 PokéStops or gyms”. This task is quickly and easily completed. With some luck, a shiny specimen might even appear to you.
Tanhel: If you complete the task “Hatch 2 eggs,” you will encounter a Tanhel as a reward. This Steel and Psychic Pokémon from Generation 3 can evolve into Metang and then into Metagross, which belongs to the best Steel attackers in Pokémon GO. This Pokémon can also be found as a Shiny in the game.
Karpador: Another strong Pokémon is the evolution of Karpador. Garados can convince as one of the best Water attackers in Pokémon GO. Additionally, it has a Mega Evolution that is even stronger.

But Karpador can also help you with the “Angler” medal. You need to catch a total of 1,000 large specimens to secure the platinum badge. Completing the task is relatively easy, as you only have to catch 7 Pokémon. With some luck, you might even secure a shiny.

Pandir: A monster that is not particularly strong but should not be missing from your collection is Pandir. This small monster from Generation 3 can only be found in research tasks, except for some rare events.

Since it has 9 different fur patterns that you can catch in their shiny forms, it is particularly interesting for collectors and shiny hunters. If you are still missing Fur Pattern 4 in your Pokédex, you should take your chance in October. However, the task is quite difficult, as it requires 5 great curveball throws.

In Overwatch strange things are happening: The e-sports team Atlanta Reign has signed former professional and Twitch streamer Daniel “dafran” Francesca as a content creator, but the reaction to the announcement was so negative that just a few hours later, the separation was announced.
Who is dafran?
The 28-year-old Daniel Francesca is a Danish Twitch streamer and former Overwatch professional.
dafran played in the Overwatch League between 2017 and 2019, including for Atlanta Reign and also represented Denmark at the Overwatch World Cup. He was quite a star in the league. The Dane played heroes like Soldier 76, Tracer, and Torbjörn.
The tweet has since been deleted – but here is a screenshot.
Extremely negative reaction on Twitter
What was the reaction? The reaction was catastrophic: Fans were outraged. As the site Dotesports reports, there was hardly any positive response to the announcement, only negative comments.
People even asked if Atlanta Reign intended to become the “villains” of the Overwatch League.

A tweet from 2021 becomes dafran’s downfall
What did dafran do? In 2021, there was a scandal involving former Overwatch super player Jay “sinatraa” Won (22), who later became a professional in Valorant: His ex-girlfriend accused him of manipulating her in the relationship and that there were sexual assaults. Sinatraa was subsequently sanctioned by Blizzard and his then Valorant team Sentinels.
Sinatraa said at the time that his girlfriend would remember a different relationship than he did. The relationship had been “unhealthy” for both. He apologized to her but stated that he had never attacked her in any way.
A later investigation resulted in sinatraa receiving a 6-month ban from Riot Games. Even after the ban was lifted, he did not play any games in Valorant.
dafran stood by sinatraa and called his ex-girlfriend, Cleo Hernandez, a “crazy e-girl” and a liar. Later, he apologized for these comments, but his role in the story apparently still haunts him today.
What happened next: In the midst of the shitstorm, dafran posted:
Atlanta Reign has reversed the signing. Please don’t hate them. My name is attached to a bad past, it makes sense. The world doesn’t believe I’ve improved. Maybe in a year or two. We continue to fight for the good cause.
Atlanta Reign confirmed a few hours later: They had parted ways with dafran. They apologized for not being “careful” with the partnership.
Since dafran likes to show Uno on Twitch, some fans joked that Atlanta Reign played the “Reverse” Uno card against him.

The Halloween event 2022 in Pokémon GO is approaching. But what content can you expect? We at MeinMMO have looked into what information is already known about this event and what leaks have been found.
What kind of event is this? Every year, Pokémon GO hosts a Halloween event, bringing a lot of spooky monsters into the game. For this reason, Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon spawn predominantly during this time of the year. There will be such an event again in 2022.
Niantic is currently keeping the specific content under wraps, so not much is known yet. However, the Pokéminers, a group of data miners, have already discovered initial hints in the game code that could indicate the content of the Halloween event. We at MeinMMO have summarized what is known or suspected about the content for you.
When is the Halloween event? The Halloween event starts on October 20, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until November 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time.
What spawns will the Halloween event 2022 bring?
So far, relatively little is officially known about the specific spawns of the Halloween event. Only the first raid bosses and the content of the spotlight hour on October 25, 2022, have already been released by Niantic.
However, there are also a few leaks from the Pokéminers that could indicate possible new Halloween Pokémon. We have compiled everything that is already known or suspected about the spawns here for you.
Raid bosses for the Halloween event
Level 5 Raids: Just in time for the start of the Halloween event, the raid boss in Pokémon GO will change. From then on, Giratina can be found in the level 5 raids. Until October 27, you will encounter the legendary Pokémon in its altered form and afterwards until November 8 in its originating form. With a bit of luck, you can catch both forms as Shiny as well.

Mega Raids: There is also supposed to be a new Pokémon in Mega Raids. However, Niantic is currently keeping it a secret. The Pokéminers made an interesting discovery in August that could give hints about the raid boss. Three new Mega evolutions have been found in the game code.

One of them is Mega Gardevoir, which has been found in Mega Raids by now. The other two monsters are Mega Sableye and Mega Banette. Both monsters would thematically fit perfectly with the Halloween event.
Sableye is part of the Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon in the game. Banette is the evolution of Shuppet. Both are typical representatives of the Halloween event year after year and are therefore candidates for a release in the Mega Raids.

Spotlight Hour: During the Halloween event, a special spotlight hour will take place. In this, you can encounter the Ghost Pokémon Shuppet, which comes from the 3rd generation of games. It is one of the typical spawns around the spooky time of the year. Shuppet was already part of the Halloween event in the previous years.
The spotlight hour will also be rounded off with an XP bonus and a special surprise related to your buddy. What that will be remains to be seen.

Wild spawns
Just like with the Mega Raids, nothing more specific is known about the wild spawns yet. However, based on experience, you will likely encounter a lot of Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon again. And also a few Psychic-type Pokémon will be seen.
Besides Shuppet and Sableye, Nebulak, Traunfugil, Makabja, Skunkapuh, Zubat, Kramurx, and Lichtel are particularly popular representatives of the Halloween event year after year. For this reason, the chances are good that you will be able to catch them again this year. However, some new monsters are also already speculated.
Mimikyu: In addition, trainers hope that the Ghost and Fairy-type Pokémon Mimikyu will finally make its debut in the game. A reason for this speculation was given by Niantic in July itself. On the occasion of its 6th anniversary, they released a new image featuring Mimikyu.
In the past, such images often provided the first hints about which monsters could be coming to the game next. Since Mimikyu also has the appropriate typing, many players speculate about a release during this year’s Halloween event.

Zorua: Another monster that some players wish for a Halloween debut is Zorua. The Pokémon is of the Dark type and comes from the 5th generation of games. It can evolve into Zoroark. Similar to Ditto, Zorua can also change its form and thus deceive other monsters and trainers.
Due to its type, it could also fit perfectly with the Halloween event. Additionally, the Pokéminers have discovered a possible hint for a release in one of their recent code searches. A new background described as “Zorua ‘Ditto encounter'” has been added (via reddit.com).
But those are still just speculations. Whether the usual monsters will be part of this year and whether Mimikyu, Zorua, or other new Pokémon will debut at this event remains to be seen.
Costumed Pokémon: A tradition that has been maintained for many years is Halloween Pikachu. This Electric-type Pokémon dresses up on the occasion of this special event for you. Last year, it wore a prank costume and the year before it wore a Mimikyu costume.

For sure, the tradition of dressed-up Pikachu will continue in 2022. However, it cannot yet be said with certainty what costume it will wear and if other costumed monsters will be introduced.
What bonuses & special features could there be?
Bonuses: The Halloween event is usually celebrated quite grandly in Pokémon GO. In recent years, you could enjoy not only countless monsters but also some bonuses. Especially various candy bonuses were in the spotlight.
Niantic is currently keeping the bonuses for this year under wraps, but a look at the Spotlight hours in October may give a small hint of what you might expect. In the weeks to come, only XP and Stardust bonuses are on the agenda for this short event.
Since you cannot find the candy bonuses for catching and sending here, it could mean that you will be able to farm a lot of candies for the Halloween event again this year.
New graphics in the game: In addition to the discovery of a special background for Zorua, the Pokéminers have found other graphics related to the Halloween event. These depict various effects for the sky and different pumpkin lanterns.
This suggests that the graphics in the game will be thematically adjusted for the event, creating an even spookier environment.

Collectors who are just starting with Overwatch now need to take a deep breath. Because Blizzard’s hero shooter is expensive if you want all the cosmetics from part 1.
With the launch of Overwatch 2, a lot has changed in Blizzard’s hero shooter. Especially the way you acquire new skins or other cosmetic rewards has changed. The days of loot boxes are over; instead, there’s now a battle pass and in-game shop.
This change, however, makes “easily obtainable” content suddenly ridiculously expensive skins. Because old skins, emotes, voice lines, and more that you haven’t earned in Overwatch 1 must be bought in Overwatch 2 for “Overwatch coins.” That’s the premium currency you can purchase in the shop or earn in very small amounts.
Anyone who needs all the content as it was in Overwatch 1 would have to invest a lot of money – a whopping 12,000 euros.
Where does the number come from? In the Overwatch subreddit, the user loliscoolyay4me published an extensive table. There he lists all the content that was in Overwatch 1 – all the different skins, emotes, voice lines, sprays, and highlight intros.
This content was available back then through loot boxes, which could be relatively easily earned. Every few hours of gameplay, you would receive a loot box, and during events, there were even more.
If you wanted to buy all of this content from Overwatch 1, you would need 1,401,500 Overwatch coins – which corresponds to a purchase price of just over 12,000 euros.

Overwatch coins cost 10 euros for 1,000 pieces. The price decreases a bit when you buy more – because then 11,600 credits cost just under 100 euros. The table assumes the “cheapest” purchase price, that is, the largest package.
The dollar costs listed in the table can be applied 1:1 to euros – because Overwatch coins currently have the same price for dollars and euros.
It should be noted, however, that the actual price would be a bit lower because some of the spray logos can no longer be purchased directly and are instead obtained through achievements. This would lower the price (and content) by a few euros.
Can you unlock the content without money? Basically, the answer here is “Yes,” because at least for individual cosmetic items, this is possible and also realistic. However, if you want all the nice items from Overwatch 1, you might be out of luck. Because per week, you can only earn a very small (almost laughable) amount of Overwatch coins – namely 60 pieces.
If you want to buy skins that cost 1,000 or even more coins with that, you can calculate in your head how long it would take to purchase items. A single skin that costs “only” 1,000 coins would already take 17 weeks.

In July 2022, the MMORPG Echo of Soul was shut down as the contract between publisher Gamigo and developer Nvius expired. Now a new publisher is taking over the game.
From now on, “Echo of Soul” will be referred to as “Echo of Soul Ragnarok” and will be published by Papaya Play. It has been back online for a few days now and is launching with numerous events. Players receive rewards for logging in as well as different buffs every day of the week.
The MMORPG has existed in several versions. It originally launched in 2013 but went offline in Korea in 2015. In the West, it ended in 2020, only to be picked up again by Gamigo, only to disappear again 2 years later. Now Echo of Soul is back.
Players can continue where they left off
If you want to continue playing your existing characters, you can transfer your data from Gamigo to the new publisher. Papaya Play has set up a transfer portal for this purpose. You can transfer your account details there until October 31.

What makes RimWorld appealing? RimWorld is incredibly complex, with many interwoven systems. The RPG elements are strongly emphasized. Essentially, it is the more digestible version of the cult game Dwarf Fortress.
The game characters have specific traits and various skills to consider when trying to establish a functioning settlement. It is crucial not only to build the settlement correctly but also to ensure the social composition of the settlement is right. Of course, you can beat up any raider and torture him until he gives in and joins the colony, or you can only recruit those you suspect are not pyromaniacal psychopaths with cannibalistic tendencies.
RimWorld deliberately gives the player a lot of freedom in what kind of future vision they want to build:

A harsh “dog eats dog” penal colony that resembles more of Mad Max
In any case, people spend hundreds and thousands of hours in RimWorld once they get used to the unique graphics and learn to read the world displayed on their screen. This is reflected in the 98% positive reviews.
How will the game get better now? The developers have announced the paid expansion “RimWorld – Biotech” for the upcoming weeks, which will be released alongside the free update 1.4.

Though there are also some ungrateful comments: as RimWorld has an active modding community, some users lament: the features that are being announced here already existed as mods for a long time.
But most are quite enthusiastic. People are writing things like:

What exactly happened? A user published an extensive post on reddit. He mentioned that he had played the game Cyberpunk 2077 without a second thought and that’s when the problems started. He writes on reddit.com:
I also ran Cyberpunk this morning on high settings and it was perfect, I was so excited to play it again today after a session of Sea of Thieves with my friend, but once I loaded past the Redengine splash screen, my PC just shut everything off.
After that, he started troubleshooting, with the active support of the community. Some users immediately said it couldn’t be the game that made his PC stop starting. Because “it is extremely unlikely to impossible that Cyberpunk broke your PC.” It’s more likely that there was already something wrong with the gaming PC from the beginning and the game only triggered the issue (via reddit.com).
Finally, a few users mentioned that an abrupt shutdown of the system and no further response could only indicate a faulty power supply or a broken power supply unit. However, there are other signs that can show you when the graphics card is about to fail. That was certainly not the case here.
How did he eventually solve the problem? The problems were resolved after the thread starter connected a new power supply to his PC. Suddenly, the computer started, but it got stuck in a boot loop.
In a further step, he had to reset the BIOS and reinstall Windows. After that, the gaming PC started up again without any issues, and he could also launch various games again.

In hindsight, the user was lucky. Because the broken power supply could have ruined much more hardware. Often, a faulty power supply can also damage other components like the graphics card, processor, or motherboard. xQc was not the only player suffering from the enormous server problems. Right at release, there were server issues and queues with over 40,000 players wanting to play at the same time. These problems continued the next day.

Light Festival 2022 in October – Start, End, Shinies, and Bonuses
When does it start? The event begins on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00 local time. It will be active until Monday, October 17, 2022, at 20:00 local time.
New Pokémon: For the first time, you can obtain Bubungus and Lamellux during the event. Both celebrate their release in the game. If you have collected 50 candies for Bubungus, you can evolve it into Lamellux.
The bonuses of the event: During the Light Festival, you will have four bonuses active:
Increased chances for Shiny Lampi
Double XP for catching Pokémon
Double candies for catching Pokémon
Smoke activated during the event lasts for 2 hours
