The drilling grenade is not picky: it drills through walls, ceilings, floors, sloped or flat surfaces. Try it a little, and you’ll be surprised at what the grenade can penetrate. Sometimes, however, you may also be disappointed because not everything works after all.
Also, make use of the property that the drilling grenade jumps out sideways from walls when you place it on thick walls. Throw the grenade at the edge of the wall to clear a path or tunnel.
The flight curve is not the only thing the drilling grenade borrows from its relatives. While it flies like Thermite, it also sticks like Semtex.
This can be extremely helpful in stressful situations because the drilling grenade can also be thrown very quickly. If an enemy catches you off guard, you often get the grenade out in time and score the kill with a direct hit.
Moreover, you also have an excellent tool against vehicles here. Whether tank, Humvee, or combi – the drilling grenade eats through paint and armor to the driver’s cabin, taking out the driver and passengers in one blow.
Keep in mind that the drilling grenade can not only leave a nasty hole in walls.
Safety Note: If the surface is not suitable for drilling, the drilling noise sounds different, and you have the visual explosion warning directly on your screen. If you can’t get away, you might even go down from it.

That I can write such an introduction again, I did not expect in recent years. Because lately, it has not seemed like Blizzard knew why millions of fans actually love World of Warcraft. Before I can explain to you why I love WoW again, I want to explain first why this is such a big deal.

Many see Cataclysm as the beginning of the end for World of Warcraft. The whole idea of a rework of the entire world was received rather negatively. And indeed, that is reflected in the player numbers.
Wrath of the Lich King had over 12 million subscribers almost 12 years ago, the most players it ever had and has never had since. At least not according to official numbers, which stopped being released at some point. And since Cataclysm, the numbers have been declining. This was certainly because with the death of the Lich King, Warcraft 3 was completely told. But not only that; the MMORPG factor gradually decreased as well.
For me, Mists of Pandaria is the point when WoW began to die. Specifically: the pruning of talents into a much simpler system. That was the first step to stripping the feeling of an RPG from the MMORPG.
The MMO aspect was heavily reduced by the Raid Finder (“LFR”). The LFR was introduced at the end of Cataclysm – so it was one of the features that carried through the entire expansion in MoP.
Guilds became less and less important for casuals, while many classes lost their depth. You no longer had to engage with the game to see everything.
Sure, for “WoW tourists,” this was great. Playing for 2-3 weeks for every patch and then disappearing worked perfectly. But these players do not keep the game alive. For me, WoW began to die at that point. And I generously leave out Warlords of Draenor, like most WoW players…

BfA and Shadowlands were at best “meh”
When Legion was released in 2016, something of what made WoW truly an MMORPG returned. Artifact weapons and legendaries added depth again and required you to engage with your classes – even if that just meant looking at the hundreds of traits you had to grind with artifact power. It seemed like WoW was on the upswing after a drought.
But then came Battle for Azeroth (2018) and Shadowlands (2020).
BfA took the worst system from Legion and made it even worse. More grind for even less choice, no tier sets anymore, and still, 4 gear slots were locked by Azerite gear and the Heart of Azeroth.
I have good memories of Legion and especially the Class Halls. About BfA… less.
WoW never offered less opportunities for players to express themselves. I played 5 different classes in BfA and they all felt the same. So much so that I set my interface once and could use the same buttons for skills that had the same function.
Shadowlands was a glimmer of hope. Torghast sounded promising, the covenants as a major feature sounded like a new way to customize. In the end, however, it was all so grindy that you stuck with the one covenant you chose just to get through the story that was chopped up by time gating.
Dragonflight learns from the mistakes of the past
Both Shadowlands and BfA did at least one thing right: they adjusted the features over the course of the expansions so that you could end on a good note. Especially Season 4 of Shadowlands was so good that even the biggest critics praised it:
And it looks like Blizzard has learned from the mistakes of the last 4 years. Many of the systems and decisions that were simply bad are completely absent in the upcoming expansion or have been rethought.
Two prominent examples stand out here. The first are the new talent trees for all classes. In recent years, so much work has been done on balancing the classes that some of them have almost completely lost their identity. Anyone could somehow do everything, and only the color of the spells differed. With Dragonflight, I can finally play my class the way I want – even if it means being mathematically 2% worse just because I placed one talent point differently. But this is MY character that I play MY way.
By the way, the developers recently told me that the talents are something like the “Best Of since Legion”.
The second example is the tier sets that will be in the game from the start. To be fair, the effects are quite dull compared to earlier. But removing sets was the dumbest idea Blizzard ever had. These special items were always the biggest incentive for me and many others to play. Performance boosts are just fun, and thanks to the LFR, it is easy enough to get to the important effects even as a casual player.
What I am still uncertain about is the reputation system. The endless grind with reputation in the covenants in Shadowlands was tedious. I hope that the progress in Dragonflight is not throttled too much, but we will see about that later.
I have to say here that I had a similar feeling with Shadowlands as I do now with Dragonflight. Back then, however, Blizzard removed many features such as the endless Torghast shortly before release, even though they were in beta. I hope Blizzard doesn’t make this mistake again.
Dragonflight has what WoW has been lacking for years
What talents and sets bring to Dragonflight is what makes World of Warcraft so great for almost 20 years: the feeling of the game. When I played the alpha and beta of Dragonflight, WoW felt again like an MMO and especially like an RPG.
Moreover, the idea of “back to the roots” runs throughout the entire expansion. I noticed everywhere that Blizzard has incorporated its quirky humor at every corner of the Dragon Isles. I was reminded again of why I actually love World of Warcraft. Shadowlands had its own kind of humor, but literally roaming the afterlife and interacting with serious Kyrians, humorless Necrolords, or self-satisfied Venthyr was not exactly an invitation to laugh.
Another reason why I enjoy Dragonflight so much is actually much more obvious and straightforward: There is a new class and a new race again.
The Evoker completely shakes up the balance of the classes. Everyone has to rediscover themselves, find their niche again, and what makes the Evoker so special is to adopt a new play style. Because Evokers are limited to 30 yards, but are highly mobile, making it especially exciting in raids to see how the group dynamics will develop now.

Wrath of the Lich King could not have come at a better time
To revisit the initial statement about why I am having so much fun with World of Warcraft again, I must also mention WoW Classic. Since September 27th, Wrath of the Lich King Classic is the current expansion of the Classic version.
One of the greatest strengths of Wrath of the Lich King is the continent of Northrend. There are so many hidden stories, so much nostalgia and attention to detail that every visit is simply delightful. To see again where Arthas picks up the cursed sword Frostmourne, to see again how Sindragosa is awakened, to discover the Frost Dwarves again. Beautiful experiences that everyone should have at least once.
Classic has always been the “feel-good” version of WoW for me. Retail is fast, it’s about performance. WoW Classic slows down the pace. I devoured the Burning Crusade as my favorite expansion, but in WotLK, I gladly play casually and at my own pace.
I take my time with WotLK, but back then, I was on the very first ship to Northrend. Together with hundreds of other players, it was an incredible feeling:

Whether I have “maxed” out my character by the time Dragonflight comes out, I do not know. Probably not, but I don’t care. If I ever hit a wall in Dragonflight where I just don’t feel like playing anymore, I will pull out my Classic Paladin and fly through Northrend, level my Death Knight, or farm something. Just seeing the world is enough for me.
Dragonflight and WotLK together are currently the best combination that WoW could possibly have. The two games complement each other excellently and are so perfect for me that I hardly need anything else for my leisure time.

Through the power of the Titans, the appearance of the proto-dragons changed to the majestic dragon forms as we know them today. Their intelligence increased further, and they were also able to take on a humanoid form when interacting with other races.
For many millennia, the dragonflights thrived under Alexstrasza’s leadership, observing as the mortal races of Azeroth slowly came into existence. The Aspects worked hand in hand and took their role as guardians of Azeroth very seriously.
For this purpose, they also populated a specific archipelago, where they established their home – the Dragon Isles.
The Betrayal of the Earth-Warder
However, during all this time, Neltharion slowly began to alienate himself from his brothers and sisters. This was because the black dragon was haunted by whispers that emanated from the depths of the earth and reached him as the Earth-Warder. Slowly but surely, he succumbed to the whispers of the Old Gods and began to devise a plan to elevate himself and his flight over all dragons.
When the Burning Legion attacked during the “War of the Ancients” over 10,000 years ago, Neltharion put his plan into action. The dragonflights helped the mortals defend against the Legion’s demons, but their strength was not enough. So, Neltharion demanded the other Aspects to give part of their essence into an artifact – the Dragon Soul.
This relic possessed unimaginable power; however, the process weakened the Aspects – except for Neltharion, who retained all his power for himself.
Neltharion attacked his brothers and sisters, and the entire black flight turned against the other dragons. Many dragons died in the process, especially the blue flight was drastically reduced.
Although Neltharion failed to annihilate the other Aspects and seize world domination, he became one of Azeroth’s greatest threats. He renounced his role as Earth-Warder and henceforth called himself “Deathwing” or “Aspect of Death”.

In the next 10,000 years, little was known about the dragons. The remaining Aspects continued to fulfill their duties, while Deathwing attempted to manipulate the various races from within using his black dragons to plunge them into war time and again.
The Subjugation of the Red by the Orcs
A particularly pivotal moment for the dragons is the story surrounding Alexstrasza during the time of the Second War (Warcraft II). The Dragon Soul – now called the “Demon Soul” – was discovered by the orc Zuluhed, whom Deathwing had led to the Demon Soul. With the Demon Soul, the orcs of the Dragonmaw clan managed to subjugate Alexstrasza. The other red dragons could not save Alexstrasza for fear that the orc would annihilate them with the Demon Soul.
During this time, Alexstrasza was forced by the orcs to lay eggs continuously. The dragons and hatchlings that emerged were subsequently trained by the orcs, stripped of their will to serve as loyal mounts, bringing death and devastation to all of the orcs’ enemies.
As the Guardian of Life, Alexstrasza suffered particularly from this abuse – not only the compulsion to continually create new offspring, but also the fact that her children were now responsible for the deaths of countless beings.

When Alexstrasza was to be taken from one prison to another, Deathwing attacked to steal some of the Dragon Queen’s eggs – he wanted to create children for his own flight from them. However, this attack ultimately allowed Alexstrasza to be freed and the Demon Soul was destroyed by the human mage Rhonin.
The red dragons then disappeared from the scene and retreated to recover physically and emotionally from the tortures they and their queen had endured.
The Nexus War and the Death of the Blue Aspect
Since Malygos lost a large part of his flight during Deathwing’s betrayal, he was not the same anymore. He lived in seclusion with the remaining blue dragons and became more focused. Ultimately, he concluded during the era of “Wrath of the Lich King” that magic is something that mortal races must be deprived of. After all, magic had indirectly caused much suffering.
Malygos began to imprison and kill the mages of the mortal races while hoarding the magic of the world and its relics.
Although the other Aspects advised against this and especially Alexstrasza tried to convince Malygos, his plan stood: he wanted to eradicate all “evil” magic users from the world, which included the Kirin Tor of Dalaran and all other mortal magic users.

Alexstrasza then rallied the other dragonflights around her, leading to the “Nexus War” – the battle against Malygos, which ended with the death of the blue Aspect.
For several years, the position of Aspect remained vacant before the blue dragon Kalecgos took this position during the events of “Cataclysm”.
The Downfall of the Aspects
Just a few years ago, the Aspects lost a significant part of their titanic power. During the “Cataclysm” expansion, the final battle against Deathwing took place. He erupted from the earth and devastated Azeroth to bring about the “Hour of Twilight” – a twisted version of the world where the Old Gods had won and even Deathwing himself had died.
To stop the former Earth-Warder, the remaining Aspects brought the Dragon Soul from the past with the help of heroes and channeled their energy into it again. This ultimately allowed them to defeat Deathwing and put an end to his Cataclysm.

However, the recharging of the Dragon Soul came with a price, as the Aspects lost their immortality and much of the power that had been granted to them by the Titans. Along with that came the loss of fertility – since the Cataclysm, the great dragonflights can no longer lay eggs, limiting their number and causing it to continue to decrease.
Consequently, the dragons took a step back from world events and could only fulfill their duty of protecting the world to a lesser extent.
Having been robbed of a large part of their power, a few years later, the satyr Xavius managed to corrupt the green Aspect Ysera and turn her into a being of nightmare. Ysera then attacked the Temple of Elune and was slain by Tyrande and the heroes. However, Ysera’s soul was saved by the Moon Goddess and taken directly to Ardenweald, a realm of the Shadowlands. There, players could experience in “Shadowlands” how Ysera was resurrected and now occupies a place in the afterlife.

The Chromatic Dragonflight
A small, experimental flight that was bred by the black dragons. Neltharion and Nefarian (Neltharion’s son) attempted to unite all five dragonflights, creating some aberrations, few of which were viable. However, a handful of experiments succeeded at least partially and became fearsome creatures.
The Eternal Dragonflight
These dragons were once bronze dragons but were corrupted by various influences. They are the direct opponents of the bronze dragons and seek to throw the timelines out of balance to create a different narrative.

Some black dragon eggs were taken to the swirling Nether and infused with its wild magics. The resulting dragons are called “Netherwings,” who mainly live in the shattered world and were used as mounts by the orcs. The “flight” is free now, but little is known about its fate.

The nightmare dragons are former green dragons who have fallen to the corruption of the nightmare. They are thus the direct opponents of the green dragons and seek to further spread the corruption of the nightmare. The corruption is so powerful that even the green Aspect Ysera was consumed by it.

Plague Dragons
Not an actual “flight”, but the attempt of the Cult of the Damned to manipulate dragons with the plague already in the egg. The dragons subsequently have necromantic powers and are supposed to help the cult spread the plague of undead further.
Twilight Dragons
A further experiment by the black dragons, carried out by Sintharia, a former companion of Neltharion. She attempted to alter some black dragon eggs with knowledge of the Nether dragons, creating the Twilight Dragons, which can cause particularly great destruction but are also very close to the madness of the Old Gods.

Some quests in Genshin Impact prevent players from progressing in the main story. Their characters are too “busy” and cannot participate in the events until the quests are completed.

Trick 1: Earn money through faction missions
What kind of method is this? The faction missions offer two interesting methods to reward you with gold:
On the one hand, you will receive bonus coins for the first 3 missions of the day, which makes the missions interesting in the endgame. Here, up to 700 coins are possible.
On the other hand, you will receive faction tokens. With these faction tokens, you can buy the Rune of Holding, which is worth it, at least on the Fresh Start servers.
The rune comes in various levels and for a different number of tokens. However, they all fetch a lot of money at the trading post, as the rune is needed to create new bags. And every player needs more bag space, as we all know.
How much can one earn? Basically, the small Rune of Holding costs you 1,000 tokens (about 3 to 4 missions) and 250 coins. The price at the trading post varies depending on the server and settlement. Currently, the rune brings between 280 and 350 coins, thereby significantly exceeding its costs.
With higher reputation levels in your faction, there are higher runes of holding available. These will yield more money.
Depending on the server, you should also check whether it is worth selling the rune directly or first crafting a bag and then offering it at the trading post.
Trick 2: Complete side quests
What kind of method is this? It sounds very trivial, but complete all side quests in the game. Unlike city quests and faction missions, they reward you with a decent amount of gold.
How much can one earn? That completely depends on the quest. However, even low-level side quests usually reward between 100 and 300 coins. Those who are quick can thus earn a lot of coins.
However, many quests can only be completed once, which somewhat reduces your income in the endgame. But then there are the endgame contents. There are, however, especially in the expeditions, repeatable quests that can be worthwhile for farming – with the right group.
Trick 3: Participate in Outpost Rush, Wars, and Invasions
What kind of method is this? In this method, you participate in the endgame contents Outpost Rush (Level 60), invasions (Level 60), and wars (here you need luck to be taken along). These contents reward you with many coins, even if you lose.
How much can one earn? That depends on the respective mode:
In Outpost Rush, you earn gold depending on victory or defeat, as well as your personal ranking on the leaderboard. Even with a defeat, you can come to 200 to 350 coins for a round, while the maximum for a victory is in the range of 300 to 500 coins.
In wars, you earn up to 720 coins if you are level 60, and as a loser around 400 coins.

Additionally, there is a PvP reward track that regularly brings bags of around 500 to 800 coins. You also collect progress for this through Outpost Rush and wars.
Trick 4: Farm materials and upgrade if necessary
What kind of method is this? In New World, there are two methods to earn money through crafting:
You can gather materials and then sell them. Due to the special crafting system, even low-level materials are always relevant.
In the endgame, there are materials that you can only craft a certain amount of per day.
Lucrative endgame items include Runestones, Asmodeum, Glittering Ebony, Phoenix Weave, and Rune Leather. However, you need the corresponding professions at level 200 for this.
How much can one earn? That depends on the respective server. All materials can be sold for more than the individual components. People pay for not having to wait days.
Trick 5: Trade in the right trading post
What kind of method is this? Whether you sell materials or buy expensive items cheaply and then sell them at a higher price – known as flipping – it is important that you trade in the right settlement.
Because each town has different trading taxes:
On the one hand, you can lower costs by increasing your reputation in the area and choosing the bonus to reduce taxes.
On the other hand, the company sets taxes that control the respective settlement.
Pay attention to the trading tax when buying and selling goods in settlements.
How much can one save? That varies greatly and depends on the respective servers and of course the owners of the settlement.
If you look at the taxes, you can save between 1% and 10% of the value of your sold goods. Those who want to earn their gold through trading should definitely keep an eye on all settlements.
Tip 6: Farm trophy components
What kind of method is this? In this method, you try to collect rare components for endgame trophies in housing.
You mainly get these from chests in Brackwater or Weaver’s Fen. You just need to find and open these. The chance for rare items can be increased, by wearing equipment with luck as a stat.
How much can one earn? This again depends on the servers. However, there are rare items that are worth hundreds to thousands of coins, such as loaded dice.
In New World, housing plays an important role. Houses serve as fast travel points that can be used for free and provide buffs for players through trophies. But where should you build your first house? And where the others? We at MeinMMO will tell you.
Where should you buy your first house? The best areas for the first house are Windkreis or Immerfall. They are very central, which makes them particularly useful as teleport points. They used to be the best spots for trading, but the auction houses are now global since patch 1.1, so you don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Where should I buy the second house? For the second house, Lichtholz or Webermoor are the best choices. This way, you cover the middle well and have short distances to the endgame areas.
Where should I buy the third house? Here there are also two spots: Either you buy a house in Ebenmaß or in Brackwasser. We recommend Ebenmaß especially if you bought your house 2 in Webermoor beforehand and like to do the farming and portal runs in this area. In Ebenmaß, there are plenty of endgame contents that players frequently run.
If you already have your house in Lichtholz, you will have a relatively short distance to Ebenmaß. Then a house in Brackwasser might be worth it. Here you have access to the dungeon Lazarus Instrument and several endgame runs like Sirens.
