Scavengers is a shooter that offered a mix of PvE, sandbox, and classic survival shooter elements. It was released on May 1, 2021, in Early Access on Steam and Epic Games. In May 2022, it was announced that the game would be put into maintenance mode. It is now confirmed: it’s all over in December.
What is so special about the game? Scavengers was supposed to be the new flagship game for the technology “SpatialOS”. This technology was meant to revolutionize the MMO genre because it allowed the shooter to send 9,000 players into battle simultaneously. This could have enabled new world records.
How did it go for the MMO Scavengers? Right from the launch of Early Access, the “Massive” aspect was abandoned. In the largest matches, only 60 players compete simultaneously in three different teams.
The basic principle is reminiscent of Fortnite or other battle royales, where the winning team is not the last survivor but the one that scores the most points. For these points, you could also complete many PvE challenges, including battling tough bosses.
You had pre-made characters available, from which you could choose one per match.
What will happen to SpatialOS? Improbable, the company behind the wonder technology, has found a new focus away from traditional gaming.
They are now focusing on the “metaverse” as a new business field. Their project is supposed to be able to represent up to 10,000 players simultaneously to allow events or announcements to take place in a virtual world.
Everything that does not serve the metaverse is no longer the focus of the company, explains the CEO Herman Narula.
A new MMORPG has been released on Steam with Chainmonsters, which is heavily inspired by Pokémon. You catch, train, and battle with monsters while facing PvE and PvP challenges. Highlights include dungeons and raids that can only be conquered with other players. If you want, you can even test it for free right now.
However, it promises an even greater focus on cooperative gameplay.
You follow a story told through quests. These quests are meant to be completed together with friends.
At launch, there should be over 135 different monsters with various types and abilities.
The combat system is turn-based, featuring combo and chain attacks to add more strategy. You can also battle in 2v2.
A dynamic weather system is supposed to influence the environment and the monsters in the world, as well as abilities.
There will be dungeons, raids, and special boss events that can only be tackled as a group.
There will be housing in the form of your own island. There, you can build crafting stations and your own houses.
Thanks to blockchain technology, all monsters, items, and cosmetics will truly belong to you. They should be tradable both in-game and outside of the game.
Chainmonsters is set to launch in Early Access on Steam and on Android and iOS in 2023. Cross-play and a console version are planned. The MMORPG will be free-to-play.

Chainmonsters – Beta Trailer
German developer raises 108,000 euros on Kickstarter and launches free demo
Who is developing the game? Chainmonsters is being developed by B-Side Games, an indie studio. They managed to raise 108,765 euros for their project via Kickstarter (via Kickstarter). Interestingly, the studio is based in Hamburg.
What kind of demo is this? The demo on Steam is free, and anyone can simply download the game. The download size is around 2 GB.
In the game, there is an initial area that you can explore. You can encounter 36 Chainmonsters, several NPCs, a shop to buy replicators (for “catching” the monsters), and the ability to battle other trainers.
First images we captured in the demo from battle and the shop.
The demo version is very rudimentary but shows the direction the MMORPG wants to take. There are quests, and you can interact with the environment. For instance, there are plants to collect or crates that you can open to find money inside.
Somewhat unusual is the combat system, as you need to drag the abilities onto the opponents when you want to use them. This function should be quite useful on the smartphone, though.
Otherwise, not much can be concluded from the demo yet. Too many elements are still missing. It’s funny that some texts in the game are defaulted to German. This may confuse the international audience a bit.
What do you think about Chainmonsters? Is such a game needed right now, or are you content with classic Pokémon? And what does Chainmonsters need from your perspective to be truly successful?
Just in August, a Pokémon MMORPG had to halt its development because they ran out of money:
In Destiny there were many items that players could farm, buy, and use. However, one item was so powerful and popular that every Guardian used it. It’s about the legendary Three of Coins. What this item is, why it was so popular, and why it was banned, you will find out here.
What are Three of Coins? The “Three of Coins” is not about actual coins, but about a black token with a white symbol. This token was considered a rare consumable and could only be purchased from Xur, the mysterious vendor.
As unassuming as the item may have appeared, the effect of the Three of Coins was unparalleled and especially popular in the community among the unlucky ones of RNG. When used, your chance of getting an exotic engram was greatly increased when you had defeated a boss or completed a Crucible match.
Due to this fact, the age of effective and efficient farming of Exotics broke out in Destiny 1.
Farming with the Three of Coins was fun
Before the implementation of the Three of Coins in Destiny 1, all Guardians were dependent on their luck. Either the RNG gods favored you, or you faced a months-long drought filled with blue and purple engrams.
Exotics were still scarce at that time, and when one was obtained, it was celebrated in the clan. However, with the dubious item from the DLC “The Taken King,” this was supposed to change.
Especially yellow engrams were eagerly hunted by Guardians
Players then had luck on their side, and new feelings began to blossom in the hearts of the Guardians: joy and hope.
It was simply fun to earn many strange coins for Xur during the week, only to exchange them for a huge stack of Three of Coins. This way, one could independently counteract the poor drop rates of Exotics.
With a large stack of black tokens, one would choose the nearest Strike, mission, or even a Crucible match to consume them one after the other. Time played no role, as it flew by in such farming sessions.
When a Guardian filled their inventory with yellow engrams, they would head straight to Rahool, the Cryptarch, and hope that he wasn’t having a bad day. After decoding, one either received Exotics they still needed or just junk to dismantle.
Rahool made no friends in Destiny 1 through poor decoding
Why were they banned? While the Three of Coins were popular in Destiny 1, they were not favored in the early days of Destiny 2. They were a relic of the old days. Since Guardians were already flooded with Exotics in Destiny 2, they were practically worthless and thus lost their shine.
Bungie’s policy changed in 2017: More players, especially casuals, should be introduced to the universe of the loot shooter. Had the grind-heavy system from Destiny 1 been present, it would have discouraged many players who were not accustomed to such.
Finally, Bungie recognized the rudimentary item and eventually removed it completely from the system at the release of Forsaken.
This was a brief look back at perhaps the most powerful item from Destiny. Do you remember it, and if so, what was the first Exotic you received with the help of the Three of Coins? Feel free to let us know in the comments!

The MMORPG Throne and Liberty (PC, PS5, Xbox) showcased real gameplay for the first time in 2022, but with a focus on PvP. In a Q&A session regarding the current quarterly report, the conversation also touched on what TL should do to be successful in the West. The answer: high-quality PvE, story content, and action-packed battles.
What kind of game is it?Throne and Liberty is the biggest MMORPG set to release in 2023. It is being developed by NCSoft, who have produced Aion, Blade & Soul, and Lineage. The first gameplay trailer looked particularly strong, featuring massive boss battles, action-packed combat, and cool movement options like climbing, flying, and swimming.
However, the trailer also concerned some players. Because it mainly showcased PvP battles for castles, which are expected to play a central role in the endgame. However, Western players tend to prefer PvE content.
Nevertheless, the developers reassured that their central concept for a successful MMORPG in the West is based on story and PvE content.

New MMORPG Hope from Korea Finally Shows a Lot of Gameplay in New Trailer
Further, it was asked how NCSoft plans to bring a console MMORPG into the mainstream in North America, as console MMORPGs are not a big hit there. The answer:
We have incorporated a lot of narrative content to enhance immersion. This is something entirely different from the MMORPGs we have catered to in the past. I don’t think the MMORPG genre itself is the problem in North America. When high-quality PvE, action, and narrative content come together, MMORPGs can even grow further. In our next announcement, we will prepare for these differences to fully come into play.
NCSoft further explained that too much emphasis had been placed on PvP in the videos so far, which led to a distorted image of the game. In the future, more PvE videos are to be released.
Was there anything new about the payment model? Not concretely. It was only stated that the IPs Throne and Liberty and Lineage should differ so that they do not cannibalize each other.
Lineage relied on a subscription model for a long time, but switched to free-to-play in 2019. The latest installments in the series, which like Lineage 2M are primarily released for mobile devices, are also free-to-play and place a strong emphasis on the shop.
This indicates that Throne and Liberty could potentially be buy-to-play to distinguish itself from that. However, this is not confirmed.
Throne and Liberty focuses on an open world and forgoes classes
There are no classes. Instead, you equip two weapons that determine your play style.
The combat system will be action-oriented and is roughly reminiscent of Blade & Soul.
There will be no classic holy trinity.
The game world is supposed to be completely open.
You play your character in third-person view, similar to most popular MMORPGs. Initially, an isometric perspective like in Lost Ark was planned.
The environment will play an important role. Much depends on day, night, or weather. Wind is supposed to affect archers when shooting, and rain will weaken fire attacks.
What do you think of Throne and Liberty? Are you interested in this new MMORPG? And do you always feel a bit skeptical about Korean games?
NCSoft is also rumored to be working on an MMORPG for Horizon: Zero Dawn. They were asked about this in the call. It is said that they are working with many partners and “soon” an official announcement will come. More on this here:
Leveling weapons is especially the main activity of many players at the start of a new CoD game. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there is a trick to easily collect a lot of XP. MyMMO author Maik Schneider sometimes feels like he is in a noise disturbance simulator because of this.
Tricks for faster weapon leveling in Call of Duty are always welcome. Every year, there is a different trick, a different method to quickly bring your arsenal to max level.
In the new Modern Warfare 2, it was first the Invasion mode that everyone rushed to – fight through to the enemy spawn and take out the NPCs wandering around in the big team deathmatch.
However, this leads to monotonous purpose-driven gameplay, only interrupted by annoying real players who clear my position. While I spit out an obscene curse, I am already on my way back to the spot, and it repeats – frustrating.
Fortunately, there is the decoy grenade – a tactical grenade that mimics gunfire. It turns out that you can farm a ton of extra weapon XP with these things if you regularly throw them in places where many enemies go down.
But since almost everyone is currently using this trick, some matches sound roughly like this:
At the moment, however, I just wish for some peace and quiet. There is banging, hissing, and firing from all corners. Sure, CoD is a war game, and I’m used to things exploding and gunfire everywhere.
But the decoy grenades take it to a whole new level of disturbance. Sometimes I feel like my ears are going to explode.
Particularly motivated specimens like to stay active for 20 seconds, playing sounds from almost every automatic weapon class and emitting the sound so that the shooting could come from just about any direction.
I’m the first to use such tricks, spread the word, and celebrate them. But the decoy grenade is driving me crazy right now. But my weapon levels look excellent … .
The trick is good, but my gameplay experience is currently somewhat clouded by it – can you remember similar situations, perhaps also in other games like Call of Duty? Leave a comment on the topic.
Are you dragon experts in World of Warcraft? Then prove your knowledge and show what you can do in this quiz!
In the next expansion of World of Warcraft, everything revolves around the dragons. After all, the Dragon Isles are the setting in Dragonflight – so you need to be well-versed in the history of these winged creatures to navigate there. Each of the new areas essentially tells the modern story of a dragonflight and the problems they are currently facing.
But how well do you really know the dragons and their background story? Do you understand all the connections that come with the dragons? Or are you more of an inexperienced “whelps” who can’t quite grasp the dragon story?
More story knowledge and curiosities about WoW can be found here:
What do you know about the dragons of World of Warcraft?
To put you to the test, we have put together a quiz that will take you through the entire history of dragons with several questions. While some questions may also be solvable for newcomers without much knowledge, others are likely to be quite challenging. It involves both the major decisions that dragons have made over the millennia and the small details that may have been forgotten.
Do you have the knowledge to be a dragon expert? Find out!
Your knowledge about dragons isn’t that great? No problem! Just last week, we published a comprehensive article about the story of the dragons that summarizes the key points of the history briefly and concisely. You could answer many of the questions with the knowledge from the summary.

On November 12, the TV total Wok World Championship took place. This year, there were two four-person woks participating, featuring well-known streamers and YouTubers from Germany. However, neither team managed to secure a podium finish. Trymacs also suffered a knee injury.
How did the WOK-WM go for the streamers? Two teams of streamers and YouTubers participated in the Wok WM:
World Wide Wok Team 1 consisted of: Knossi, Trymacs, MontanaBlack, and Unsympatisch TV.
World Wide Wok Team 2 consisted of: Papaplatte, Rewi, Laserluca, and wildcard winner Johannes
Although the qualifying round was promising, the final race did not go well for either team.

Twitch: Who were actually the first successful streamers?
Trymacs injures himself, drops out in the second run
How did Team 1 perform? In their first race, Team Knossi and Trymacs almost faced a fall. To avoid this fall at nearly 100 km/h, they had to place their body parts on the ice track, which slowed them down and cost them a lot of time.
They barely managed to secure 8th place out of 10, which at least qualified them for the finals. The last two teams were eliminated in the preliminary round.
Additionally, Trymacs was reportedly already struggling with an injury from the rehearsal before the first run, as Knossi shared in an interview. After the fall, it was said that Trymacs had bruised his knee and could not participate in the second run. The streamer announced this via Instagram. Instead, a stuntman took his place.
However, the second run was also not successful. This time, the fall was unavoidable, and Knossi spent part of the ride completely outside the wok. In the end, they lacked the time to compete for a higher position, and they remained in 8th place.
Here you can watch the second run of both internet teams:

How did Team 2 perform? The team led by Papaplatte and Rewi only managed to secure 7th place in the first round, just one position ahead of Knossi and the team. In the finals, they also managed to drive a bit faster than their Twitch competitors.
In the end, however, they also finished in 7th place.
Who won the Wok WM in the four-person category? The team Deutschland 3, consisting of former luge athlete Johannes Ludwig, actor Felix von Jascheroff, Olympic bobsledder Francesco Friedrich, and former cross-country skier Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle, took 1st place.
Team Deutschland 2 took 2nd place and Team Deutschland 1 finished in 3rd place. The favorites, Team USA, only came in 4th. Team Burger King from Turkey finished 5th, and the Irish team led by Joey Kelly took 6th place.
What is the Wok WM anyway? The Wok WM was established in 2003 by Stefan Raab after he offered it as a wager on Wetten dass..?? Participants race down a bobsleigh track in a steel wok.
The event took place every year from 2003 to 2015. After Stefan Raab withdrew from active television, the event was suspended. It took place again in 2022 for the first time.
Did you watch the Wok WM? Or did the event pass you by? Do you think it’s good that YouTubers and streamers participate in such events, and can that motivate you to turn on the TV? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Currently, it is a trend that larger Twitch streamers and YouTubers host real-life sports events. In addition to boxing matches, there was a football event featuring Trymacs and Knossi:
Hearthstone is known for its sometimes absurd cards. But with one of them, you simply lose directly – if you don’t hurry up.
With “March of the Lich King”, the next expansion of Hearthstone is coming soon, set to be released in December. Gradually, all 145 cards will be revealed – and as expected, there are some particularly curious cases among them. One of the newest cards simply makes you lose – at least if you don’t get to the end of the game quite quickly.
What kind of card is this? Lord Frostbringer is a legendary neutral undead minion, boasting stats of 6 / 6 for 6 mana. Its effect is also quite devilish, as its Deathrattle states: For the rest of the game, your first card each turn costs (0). You will die in 3 turns.
Thus, Frostbringer can shine as a “Mana Cheat” – because from turn 7 (or even earlier with the coin), you can play cards that cost significantly more mana – and for free. However, from this moment on, you also have the certainty and thus the pressure of time, which signifies your impending doom. For if you cannot finish the game after Lord Frostbringer’s death within 3 turns, the card ends the game for you – with a defeat.
Start video
Hearthstone introduces the Death Knight as a new class, cinematic reminiscent of Arcane
The true danger lies elsewhere: While one might easily say, “Then I simply won’t include this card in my deck”, the true danger of Lord Frostbringer lies in a random factor. You can end up in a really “sticky” situation if you accidentally draw Lord Frostbringer – this could especially happen to Shamans who upgrade their own minions via Evolution. But many other cards that summon random minions could suddenly encounter Lord Frostbringer and thus initiate the countdown to doom.
However, it will be interesting to see if the community manages to create some sensible decks with Lord Frostbringer. After all, its effect is quite powerful – and can allow for some truly crazy combos that can indeed lead to a timely victory.
What do you think about such cards? Cool, interesting strategy possibilities? Or complete nonsense?
The Viking game “Land of the Vikings” is currently available in Early Access on Steam. The player manages a village where each resident has individual strengths and weaknesses, making them suitable for specific jobs.
What is Land of the Vikings about? The game is a settlement-building simulator with elements of strategy and survival games.
The player takes on the role of the leader in a Viking village, becoming what is known as a “Jarl”. As such, you work to expand your settlement further.
Here you can see the Early Access trailer for Land of the Vikings:

Organize the Viking settlement and manage job assignments appropriately
What does the gameplay of Land of the Vikings look like? In the game, you manage the village’s resources, withstand the forces of nature, and fend off enemy attacks.
As a Jarl, the player must know each and every one of their Vikings, because: The NPCs each have their own personality. In total, 20 traits define a person in the village.
Therefore, you should consider the skills and abilities of each Viking when assigning tasks. Because not every NPC is well-suited for every job. For example, the values to keep in mind are:
Happiness
Strength
Speed
Intelligence
In addition, there are certain traits and peculiarities that influence the abilities of the Viking NPCs, such as charisma, bravery, laziness, and cunning.
The player gathers resources by having trees felled, taking care of field cultivation, and sending NPCs hunting. Minerals can also be mined, and fish can be caught.
Here you can see some screenshots from Land of the Vikings
Especially in winter, enough resources must be available to survive the cold season. Additionally, there are natural forces like earthquakes or lightning that can cause fires.
With your Viking neighbors, you can trade and also send a crew by ship to sell goods. There is also the option to forcibly seize goods by sending the player to raid other villages.
To expand your village, you build up civilization as you see fit and try to achieve high satisfaction among the population. Progress is rewarded with “Fame Points”, which can be used to unlock new types of buildings on the great “Tree of Life”.
More about new games on Steam can be found here on MeinMMO:
How do players rate Land of The Vikings? The ratings for the game are very good – however, there are currently only very few reviews. Of the 50 ratings, 80% are positive (as of November 9, 2022, via Steam)
How much does Land of the Vikings currently cost? The game is currently on introductory offer on Steam. Until November 18, 2022, Land of the Vikings is reduced by 10% and costs €17.99 instead of €19.99 (as of November 9, 2022).
Important note: Land of the Vikings is currently only available in English on Steam.
NCSoft, the company behind Lineage, Aion and Blade & Soul, is reportedly working on a new MMORPG. This is said to be developed in collaboration with Sony and set in the world of the Horizon series.
Update November 13: During a Q&A session regarding the quarterly report, NCSoft was also asked about the Horizon MMORPG. The response indicates that due to their long-standing MMORPG experience, there are many cooperation offers. They cannot comment on it yet, but an announcement of a new project is expected soon.
This project is intended to excite shareholders and appeal to the global market (via bbs.ruliweb).
What kind of game will this be? Not many details about the MMORPG are available yet. The report comes from the Korean website MTN, which claims to have heard this information from insiders around Sony and NCSoft.
It is said that NCSoft and Sony have teamed up to develop a new online game based on the Horizon IP. Development is reportedly already underway, and both companies are said to be in close contact. Internally, the game is codenamed “Project H”.
According to the report, Sony is actively involved in the development. This suggests that the Horizon MMORPG will also be released for PlayStation and will not be a purely mobile game like some of NCSoft’s recent titles.
Does the concept of Horizon fit into an MMORPG? Absolutely. Especially the structure of the open world, the many secrets to discover, the different modes of transportation, and the weak points principle would make a Horizon MMORPG really interesting. We found that already with the first part:
Sony has probably wanted a multiplayer for Horizon for a long time
What supports this information? As reported by the website VGC, Guerrilla Games – the developers of Horizon – and Sony wanted to incorporate co-op into the first game, Zero Dawn. However, this was discarded to focus on the remaining game content.
Sony was reportedly very interested in getting a co-op mode for Forbidden West, but Guerrilla decided against it again and only wanted to develop a separate online spin-off later, if at all.
Now it seems that Sony has decided to develop an online game with NCSoft.
What has NCSoft created so far? NCSoft is one of the largest MMORPG companies out there. They had great success with the Lineage series. Lineage 1 was released on September 3, 1998, and still ranks among the top 20 online games in Korea today. The sequel, Lineage 2, also makes it into the current top 20.
Otherwise, NCSoft made a name for itself with the games Aion and Blade & Soul. They are also the publisher and owner of Guild Wars 2, even though it is being developed in America. As a publisher, they also worked on Wildstar, Tabula Rasa, and City of Heroes, all of which have now been discontinued.
Throne and Liberty: We show you in 80 seconds what you need to know about the great MMORPG hope
When could we learn more? The G-Star takes place from November 17 to 20. This is the largest gaming expo in Korea. New titles are usually presented here. It is quite possible that Sony and NCSoft will reveal more about the Horizon MMORPG there.
Does the idea of an MMORPG in the world of Horizon appeal to you? Or should it remain a purely single-player franchise? What should the MMORPG definitely have to be interesting for you? Let us know in the comments.
An MMORPG from NCSoft is Guild Wars 1. Many players are now wishing for a remake that moves away from Guild Wars 2:
Today, on November 13, top raids featuring Hoopa are happening again in Pokémon GO. Here, we show you everything you need to know about the mini-event in an overview.
What are top raids?Top raids are relatively new in Pokémon GO and present a special challenge for you.
They are more difficult than normal raids; you need many trainers.
The eggs “hatch” for 24 hours – then the boss can be challenged for 30 minutes.
They start at 11:00, 14:00, and 17:00.
You can only participate on-site and not with remote raid passes.
Here, we show you what you need to know for the next event of this kind, which starts this weekend.
Top raids with Hoopa on November 13 – What is happening?
When does it start? The top raids are running today, on November 13, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time. During this time, you can see the special eggs at gyms and participate in the battles with many other trainers.
What is known? At the beginning of the month, it was initially only known that there would be top raids on November 13. On November 7, the Japanese account of Pokémon GO confirmed on Twitter that the event would feature Hoopa in its Unbound form. We embed the tweet here:

In New World, the mysterious material Azoth plays an important role. It corrupts the world but is also used by players for fast travel or crafting. We at MeinMMO reveal what exactly lies behind Azoth.
What is Azoth? Azoth is a mysterious material that is said to offer eternal life. It attracts many adventurers stranded on the island of Aeternum, as this material is said to exist only here. However, the greed for Azoth corrupts the game world and has thus created the Corrupted.
Besides its significance for the lore, Azoth is also an important currency in New World.
How to get Azoth? Azoth does not play a major role at the beginning, and you only receive a very small amount of it. However, starting at level 20, it becomes more relevant and easier to obtain:
A simple way to obtain Azoth is by completing quests related to the main story and the Azoth staff. These reward you with about 20 Azoth.
However, you can also farm more specifically by defeating Corrupted enemies of level 20 or higher.
What can you do with Azoth? You need this currency for various content in the game. The currency plays an important role in crafting. If you want the best gear with the best perks and attributes, you must use Azoth in the process.
Furthermore, Azoth is needed for fast travel. This allows you to travel from outpost to outpost and also reset the cooldown in your house. However, the costs have been drastically reduced, making its use less relevant now.
Lastly, you can use Azoth to reset your skill trees and thus adjust your build for the respective weapon.
In New World there are various debuffs that play an important role in both PvE and PvP. In this guide, we explain what the individual debuffs are and what they do.
What debuffs are there? In New World, there are eight different debuffs:
Slow – Reduces movement speed by 50%
Rupture – Reduces damage absorption by 30%
Weakness – Reduces the opponent’s damage by 50%
Disease – Reduces healing received by 50%
Exhaustion – Reduces stamina regeneration
Silence – Prevents the use of abilities
Root – Prevents movement while allowing attacks and abilities to continue
Stun – Disables all actions
These debuffs play an important role, especially in PvP. Particularly important are stuns, silence, and disease. This way, you can control opponents, prevent abilities, and reduce healing received.
In PvE, it is important that Rend is active on opponents so the group can deal more damage. Additionally, there are certain abilities that activate or trigger bonus damage when enemies are hit with an active debuff.
Do DoTs count as debuffs? No, burning, poison, and bleeding do not count as debuffs, but have their own category.

5 Tips if you want to start with New World in 2023
You must master buffs, debuffs, and the different types of damage
What can you do against debuffs? Debuffs typically expire on their own. However, there is also the effect “Cleanse” through which you can remove all debuffs from yourself. Additionally, there are abilities that remove specific debuffs.
What important aspects are there besides debuffs? Debuffs play an important role when you want to deal maximum damage while controlling opponents. But there are two other important aspects you should know.
On one hand, there are buffs. Empowerment increases your damage, reinforcement strengthens your defense, and haste makes you run faster.
The combat system of New World does not consist of learning complicated rotations, but has a tactical component where positioning and dodging are essential.
More about New World, the combat system, builds, and more can be found in our overview:
An important component of Pokémon GO is, besides catching wild monsters, participating in raids. However, there is not always a local community to support you in battle. Therefore, our MeinMMO author Franzi Korittke tested the app “Poke Genie”and explains how you can complete raids with it.
What are raids? In Pokémon GO, Pokémon can not only be caught in the wild, but also with the help of raids. These are fights between trainers and a raid boss, which is a specific Pokémon that occupies the respective arena in the game for a certain period.
Depending on how difficult the raid is, you can tackle it alone or might need support from other players against some monsters. This is especially the case for legendary Pokémon in level 5 raids.
However, not all trainers can rely on a local community, which is why remote raid passes in the game are particularly popular. With these, you can be invited by friends to raids in other regions of the world.
If you are poorly connected here as well, you can be invited to these raids using various apps. I tried this with Poke Genie on my Android device and will explain how it works.
What kind of app is Poke Genie? Poke Genie was originally designed to allow players to evaluate their monsters in the game. However, this is not well-regarded by Niantic and violates their terms of service. This could potentially mean a ban, so you should use this app for these purposes at your own risk.
A function that has also existed since the introduction of remote raids in Poke Genie: you can network for raids. This way, players can host raids near them through the app and invite other trainers.
Does Poke Genie cost money? No! Poke Genie is generally free. Depending on which raid you want to participate in, you may need some patience. For example, the ultrabeast Kaguron caused long waiting lines at the raids.
This is how Poke Genie works on Android
How can you be invited to raids? To participate in one of the raids, you must first create an account. Your trainer name and trainer code will also be recorded here. For everything to work, this information must match your in-game details.
Once you have registered successfully, you can get started. To be invited to a raid, you should proceed as follows:
Click the “Raid” button on the homepage.
Now the raid selection opens, where you can see which raids are available and how many people are already in line.
Select your desired raid.
After a small window opens showing your current position in the queue, you must wait. If you no longer feel like the raid, you can leave the queue via the corresponding button.
This is how you find the desired raid and get in line
If a spot opens up for your desired raid, a window will finally open that shows you the trainer name of another player and their trainer code.
Copy the trainer code.
Then quickly switch to the game and send a friend request.
Go back to the Poke Genie app and confirm the “Friend request sent” button. Note that you only have a short amount of time to do this, which you must not miss if you want to participate in the raid.
If successful and the other player accepts your request, you will receive a list of all participants in the raid in the app. Now you can switch back to the game and prepare for the invitation to the respective raid.
This is how you proceed in the Poke Genie app
What happens next? The further steps are like in any other remote raid. The bar in the lower right corner lights up orange and you just need to click on the respective raid and join via remote raid.
Once you complete the raid and encounter the raid boss, you need to switch back to the Poke Genie app. Here you now have the opportunity to rate the hosted raid.
Provide feedback on the raid
Can you also host raids yourself?
Yes, for this you need to click on the “Host” category under the Raids section in the Poke Genie app. Now you can start an “Overlay”. By clicking the corresponding button, your game will open, and you can scan the respective raid. Next, you need to answer a few questions about the raid in the Poke Genie app, such as the weather or how many additional players are participating.
This is how you host a raid with Poke Genie
If you have successfully hosted the raid, you will end up in a queue. Your placement will be displayed accordingly. This way, you can assess how long it will take. Once it’s your turn, the list fills up with names. Now you can switch to the game and accept the friend requests.
Once all trainers are ready, you can invite them and conduct the raid normally. Afterwards, you should switch back to Poke Genie and rate the raid accordingly.
Wait until everyone is ready to start the raid
My personal conclusion about Poke Genie
Advantages of the app: Poke Genie offers a good opportunity to be invited to remote raids with its app. This is especially interesting for players who do not have a solid community or trainer friends who regularly invite them to raids. Thus, these players also have a chance to secure the respective raid boss.
Additionally, players can also host their own raids, saving remote raid passes.
Disadvantages of the app: What annoyed me about using the app was the constant switching between apps. I do not use the latest smartphone, so with so many app switches, it often freezes. This is especially annoying when trying to invite another trainer and then not getting back to the Poke Genie app in time to confirm it.
I managed to solve this issue with a second smartphone, on which I launched Poke Genie. I would therefore wish for a slightly simpler process, or at least a corresponding overlay that allows me to interact in both apps simultaneously.
Another drawback in my view is the fact that the app also offers the evaluation of monsters, which, as mentioned at the beginning of this article, is not particularly well-regarded by Niantic and therefore presents a certain risk.
Would I still use Poke Genie? In principle, I find Poke Genie a good thing, especially if you really want a specific monster and can’t find another trainer to participate.
Additionally, there are occasionally monsters that only come to raids in specific regions. It is also helpful to connect quickly and easily in this case. Therefore, I will continue to use Poke Genie from time to time for participating in raids. Nevertheless, I prefer raids with friends.
In recent years, I played my flight simulators with my Xbox controller. Now I had the chance to try out the sidestick and throttle from Thrustmaster. Whether this purchase would be worthwhile for you, I will show you here.
I love to be transported away from reality by simulator games. Even as a child, I came across various aircraft and helicopter games in different “Gold Games” editions, for which I specifically wished for a joystick. Then I took a break from this type of game for about 15 years. In 2018, I discovered Microsoft Flight Simulator X for myself. Shortly after that, the new polished Microsoft Flight Simulator was released. Just the announcement in 2019 lifted the community to cloud nine!
Since its release in August 2020, I have accumulated about 450 hours of playtime in it. But only with a controller, mouse, and keyboard.
I now received the opportunity from Thrustmaster to test the new TCA Captain Pack X Airbus Edition. The set has a recommended retail price of €299.99. Compared to other products in the lower mid-range of flight simulation.
Here I share my impressions. How it is to switch from controller to flight stick and throttle after many years, and whether it is worth buying such a package after this experience.
What is the TCA Captain Pack X Airbus Edition?
What’s included: The set consists of a sidestick and a throttle quadrant combination. This product is an updated version of a pack that is now also compatible with the Xbox. Good news for fans of Microsoft Flight Simulator, which also runs on Xbox. The new version of the flight stick was released on November 2, 2022.
Various components can be connected to the stick for expansion. Such as pedals (rudders), throttle controls, and headsets.
The Sidestick
14 switchable buttons
Throttle (also with thrust reverse)
Switch for compatibility between Xbox or PC
2 USB-In ports for additional components
1 USB-Out for connection to PC or Xbox
Many buttons available on the right …… and on the left side. Below is the throttleConnections for additional components and for choosing between Xbox and PC
Throttle Quadrant
4 axes
31 physical action buttons (including 13 virtual buttons for PC)
Controls for thrust and thrust reverse mechanism
Spoilers and flaps adjustable via controls
Settings for landing gear, autobrake, autopilot, engines, parking brake, rudder trim, and more
Stays securely on the table – The throttles snap into certain positions. The thrust reverse is mechanically released
My First Impression
After unpacking and setting up, the initial adjustment follows. I first connected the sidestick and throttle to my PC. Under Windows 10, both were quickly recognized and automatically installed. In Microsoft Flight Simulator, I then calibrated the sensitivity and assigned the buttons in a way that made sense to me.
The first flight: Until now, I have only flown the simulator with my Xbox controller. For thrust, I hold down A, for less thrust, I hold down B. The buttons are very limited and cannot offer everything I use during flights and landings. Therefore, I often had to revert to the keyboard.
Finally, the first flight with the joystick and throttle was on the horizon. Departure from Frankfurt, the largest airport for cargo and passengers in Europe. After I completed the checklist for takeoff and received my clearance, I headed to the starting position. At a limited speed, which I can now easily adjust millimeter by millimeter with my right hand. Instead of previously “just a quick press on A”.

Arrived at the starting position: First, set the parking brake and see how everything will go. I go through the functions of my new auxiliary devices in my mind and mentally simulate the takeoff. I check again with the external view to ensure that everything works correctly and that the flaps and controls are moving as I want. And then it’s time to go. Takeoff.
I miss the vibrations while rolling on the runway. My controller was the only one to provide that. But now I can control with both hands, which was previously spread across only four fingers. Adjust thrust, V1, Rotate. After a quick check, retract the landing gear, keep an eye on climb rate, and adjust flaps and thrust. I now have separate controls to manage everything.
With the push of a button, I could now engage the autopilot, but that is not the purpose of my test. So I try out some buttons and controls in the air and enjoy so many adjustable buttons.
Things that did not receive shortcut button assignments from me due to lack of space on the controller now have an extra button. I control lights for taxi or landing based on the flight stick. Wonderful.
After a shorter test flight, I then prepared for landing. Reduce thrust, set flaps, and have spoilers and landing gear ready. During the landing process, it clearly shows that flying with two separate instruments brings many advantages. While flying on the small controller works well, taxiing, takeoff, and landing are so meticulous that it works much better with two instruments.
Do you prefer controllers? We provide you with an overview of the best products on MeinMMO:
For years, I hesitated to purchase flight controllers. Do I even play the Flight Simulator often enough to justify such a purchase? That was my biggest brake. I don’t want to buy something that will just sit in the corner. Through the testing opportunity, I am sure: Had I bought a sidestick and throttle earlier, they would not have ended up in the corner. It is incredibly fun to maneuver with them and perfect takeoffs and landings with many small inputs.
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
Both devices feel good in hand and respond to small inputs. This allows for very fine control. I enjoy flying large aircraft, and this Airbus set fits perfectly. However, other planes or helicopters can also be controlled with it. Thanks to the customizable buttons and controls, I have yet to find a model that cannot be flown with the set.
If you are unsure, you should consider borrowing such devices or thinking about the return policy. I myself could not imagine how much flying would improve with it. It is clear to me that I will use these components in the long run. It pays off, especially if you fly regularly. It is worth mentioning that there are more premium devices from Thrustmaster and other brands, but they also come with a higher purchase price.
I would recommend the TCA Captain Pack X Airbus Edition for more advanced simulation flyers. Those who casually fly a few times a year should still manage with a controller, mouse, and keyboard.
For those who play a lot and like to invest in their hobby, I would suggest looking at Thrustmaster’s Hotas Warthog. As a strong middle ground for PC and Xbox, I can recommend the TCA Captain Pack X in the Airbus edition.
Recently, for my racing simulations, I tested the new Thrustmaster T128, which is aimed at beginners with a low price.

Healing in World of Warcraft is becoming increasingly restricted. Now it also affects PvP healers, who will have to face significant losses.
Healing in World of Warcraft has always been a challenging topic – especially in PvP. With a good healer backing them up, victories sometimes seem nearly impossible. The enjoyment of matches in which one team can rely on a healer while the other cannot is generally quite limited.
What is being changed? Blizzard is increasing the “dampening” effects in the arena. This debuff ensures that the effectiveness of healing and absorption effects weakens. The effect increases over time, making healing progressively more difficult and ultimately impossible. This forces matches to eventually come to an end, as both sides will only lose HP without being able to gain any back. The changes are:
Mixed Singles: Starts with 10% dampening, and after one minute the effect increases by 25% per minute.
2v2 Arena (Double DPS): Starts with 10% dampening and increases immediately by 6% per minute.
2v2 Arena (with Healer): Starts at 30% dampening and increases immediately by 6% per minute.
3v3 Arena: Starts with 10% dampening and increases after 3 minutes by 6% per minute.
In addition, the debuff is now stackable. However, this is just an improvement in the display, allowing players to see at a glance how strong the dampening currently is, without having to hover over the debuff with the mouse first.
Healers are being nerfed in PvP – not everyone likes this, even though it makes sense.
Why is Blizzard doing this? Blizzard is trying to limit the effectiveness of healers while ensuring that matches in PvP do not drag on indefinitely. Especially arena matches can sometimes last 10 to 15 minutes in the higher ranks.
The developers are attempting to find a balance where healers are certainly useful, but their effectiveness gradually decreases. At the same time, they do not want players to be “shot out of life within a global cooldown,” which is why the health points were previously increased so drastically.
More about World of Warcraft can be found here on MeinMMO:
This is how the community is reacting: The first reactions from the community are quite positive. Most seem to appreciate that Blizzard is making an effort and has ideas on how to make PvP more interesting and fair. Here are a few opinions from the official WoW forum and from Wowhead:
“As someone who plays a specialization with almost no healing (for myself or others), should this help balance things a bit? I’m looking forward to seeing the effects. More importantly, it’s really great that the developers are focusing more on PvP and arena. Thank you!”
“Great stuff, I didn’t expect this considering Blizzard’s past, but this is just good.”
“I’m glad they’re implementing dampening earlier in the 3v3 arena. The games could last forever.”
What do you think about the PvP changes to healing? A good step in the right direction? Or does healing no longer bring any joy?
30-year-old Sam Bankman-Fried was considered a business genius in the field of cryptocurrency until just a few days ago and a visionary who developed a future idea of how money will function. As CEO of the crypto exchange FTX, he was in control. His fortune was estimated at 15 billion US dollars; he even bought into League of Legends : His company became the naming sponsor for the LoL team TSM. But that seems to be going up in smoke now.
This story is currently circulating about the CEO: In September, a story emerged about the 30-year-old CEO, whom many considered a kind of financial prodigy at the time. He was someone counted among a new generation of tech pioneers, something like “Frank Thelen in good.”
The story from September 2022 probably describes him best: As head of the crypto exchange FTX, he had an extremely good meeting with potential investors. Friedmann designed the vision of FTX as a ‘super app, with which you could do anything you want with the next dollar’ in a Zoom call:
One could use the dollar via FTX to
buy Bitcoin
exchange into any currency
send to friends around the world
use it to buy a banana.
The meeting impressed the potential investors: They invested $214 million in the 30-year-old’s company and raved about how fantastic the Zoom call was. One said it was one of those meetings that would “blow your hair back.”
It turned out that Bankman-Fried held this Zoom meeting while playing the MOBA League of Legends. An employee is quoted as saying:
I sit 3 meters away from him, walk over and think: Damn, that was really good. And then it turns out that the jerk was playing League of Legends the entire time during the meeting.
What has he done? Bankman-Fried used the money for a few things:
He had an ad spot with the famous US comedian Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld) aired during the Super Bowl. That alone was said to have cost about $25 million.
He bought into the LoL team TSM and was a naming sponsor there.
Bankman-Fried was celebrated as a revolutionary tech genius with a ‘Robin Hood mentality’, who sleeps in a beanbag so that he stays “in work mode” (via bloomberg)

Here is the ad spot with Larry David for the Super Bowl 2022 for FTX:
What does he have to do with LoL? Bankman-Fried once explained (via twitter), he hardly sleeps and works a lot. When he is not working, he is often busy in League of Legends:
“I play a lot more than one would expect from someone who regularly trades sleep for work.
Why? Well, there is one obvious answer. The one thing that everyone says about LoL who plays it is: I wish I didn’t play it […]
Some people drink too much, some gamble – I play League of Legends.
The success of his company lived off the image of the founder as a genius who understands things
Why was this so crucial? As the site Kotaku explains, the success of the FTX company depended almost exclusively on investors having full trust in Bankman-Fried and his genius.
Kotaku writes: People wouldn’t have invested in FTX, but actually in Bankman-Fried, the Magic: The Gathering nerd and the financial genius.
Kotaku believes that the motivation to invest in FTX was: Even if you don’t understand all the crypto stuff, there’s this one guy who understands it all and who earns you billions of dollars with his really clever ideas.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEwgnOnEkgM
In this extremely cool clip,
The coin falls, a merger fails – fortune is in free fall
What went wrong now? Bankman-Fried is crumbling his empire right now. In an article from November 2, the crypto site Coindesk explained that Bankman-Fried holds $14.6 billion worth of the FTT coin, which FTX developed, through another company.
This was seen as an extremely bad sign if a single company holds so much money in a cryptocurrency. This apparently severely shook confidence in the coin.
Within a year, the FTT price crashed (via coindesk).
His company FTX, which was actually supposed to be acquired by the competitor Binance, is now in trouble – Binance has withdrawn the acquisition offer.
Binance has even announced that “after the recent revelations” it will withdraw its approximately $2.1 billion from FTT, which apparently hurt a lot.

As a result, the price of the FTT coin has plummeted: It fell from $26 to $4. A year ago, in September 2021, the coin was even worth $84, and now 96% of that is gone.
Also, Bankman-Fried’s “net worth,” his fortune, has shrunk enormously in a short time: As Bloomberg reports, the value fell by 94% in one day on November 8:
Before the crash of his company, Bankman-Fried’s value was seen at $15.2 billion
After the crash, Bankman-Fried is seen at $991.5 million
This resulted in $14.6 billion being “wiped out” overnight.

Exactly the kind of message that as an investor you really don’t want to see.
This is once again one of those crypto stories that reminds you how volatile and fleeting the whole business of virtual currency is, which one cannot see and which is heavily based on trust and belief. Once trust is shaken, it seems to go down unstoppable.
The former Twitch and current YouTube streamer Ludwig has received quite a few strange messages on Twitter. Behind this is a benefit that one can buy for 8 euros.
Who is it about? Ludwig Ahgren, who generally appears online only under his first name, has become really big on Twitch. In 2021 he switched to the competing YouTube Gaming, where he was immediately banned.
Ludwig is known for his entertaining and sometimes a bit strange content.
During his time on Twitch, he became known for an endless stream that he “had to” show over several days.
“I won’t respond to you because you have a checkmark”
What problem does Ludwig have? The YouTube streamer tweeted that “a dozen” newly verified Twitter Blue accounts had been purchased, apparently just so he would have to read their direct messages (via twitter.com):
I thought buying verification for $8/month was brain-dead and no one would do it.
But then I woke up and got a dozen DMs from people who paid for verification just so I would read their message.

In another tweet, he explained that he would not respond to anyone just because he would verify his account.
New purchase option causes chaos on Twitter
What’s behind the action? On Twitter, one could previously verify their account. This allowed users to prove to others that they were the real owner of the account. This was recognized by a small blue checkmark on their profile.
But now you can buy this small blue checkmark for about 8 euros a month. And that leads to a whole lot of chaos, as not only Ludwig’s example proves. For instance, a user pretended to be an official Nintendo account and announced a new “Super Mario” game.
Not only Ludwig has problems with Twitch. Meanwhile, one of the most famous journalists on Twitter has said goodbye because he does not trust the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk:
A user has purchased a new gaming PC. Along with it: a strange black object. The answer to what it could be is quickly found, yet the community is still going crazy.
Those who buy a gaming PC usually get a lot of accessories with it. Mostly things like cables or mandatory manufacturer stickers so you can show who made the piece.
On reddit, a gamer has now posted a picture of a strange object that came with his new gaming PC. We used the reddit thread for our title image.
Another exciting story about computer hardware is about a small chip:
A Wi-Fi antenna for a gaming PC that apparently no one knows about
What exactly is it? The solution to the strange object is quickly found, as it appears to be the Wi-Fi antenna for his computer. These antennas are usually screwed onto the back of the PC to the motherboard like a TV cable.
Anyone looking on Amazon will quickly notice that motherboards with Wi-Fi are always delivered with such a black module to improve performance.
An example motherboard with Wi-Fi antenna: The ROG Strix B550-F Gaming from ASUS.
Do you even need the antenna? But the user still seems confused, as he asks: “Do you think it’s worth plugging it in, or is it not that important?”
Many users seem to be unaware that there are external Wi-Fi antennas for gaming systems. Another gamer explains that many don’t even install the piece, resulting in significantly weaker internet performance. He writes on reddit:
A friend received a PC a while ago and didn’t know what it was, so he threw it away. He always complained that his Wi-Fi was so bad, and when I was at his house once, I looked at it.
I told him that the antenna was missing, and he didn’t believe me, so I took him into a game and then plugged the antenna in on the back, and suddenly his Wi-Fi was great. Only then did he believe me. Then he stuck a coat hanger into the hole and called it a day.
Another adds that he had never seen anything like it and had no idea where to connect it to the PC (via reddit.com):
How is the device connected to the PC? I am a complete novice and have never used a Wi-Fi antenna. For those using coaxial connectors, it seems to be quite normal. I have no idea.
The solution seems to be quickly found, yet many other users seem to want more. The community has plenty of quirky and absurd ideas about what the manufacturer might have put in the box of the PC.
Community suspects butter knife and sex toy behind the object
How does the community react? The post on reddit has now received over 10,000 upvotes and more than 1,600 comments. Users cannot help but discuss amusingly about the picture and the question of the thread starter. And very few of the more than 1,000 comments take the question really seriously:
One explains that he could improve his processor performance with the piece.
A second believes it must be a kitchen knife. Another replies that it is rather “a very blunt plastic knife.”
A third writes that this shape and size must surely be a sex toy.
The community is definitely having a lot of fun explaining to the user what is lying there with his gaming PC. Other users have much less enjoyment. One user bought a top graphics card for 300 euros, and the community had to explain to him why he would never see the graphics card:
Currently, player numbers for Destiny 2 have reached the lowest point in 3 years. The game seems to be in crisis. Many Guardians are more burnt out on Bungie’s loot shooter than ever before. Content creator KackisHD believes he knows the reasons and says what Bungie needs to do now to ensure that the fun doesn’t get lost.
Who is KackisHD? The Canadian YouTuber KackisHD has long been a staple in the Destiny community. He started making videos in 2012 about first-person shooters like Modern Warfare 2. But then he found his dream game – Destiny.
So, KackisHD made it his mission to report on game updates in real-time and provide tips and tricks for other players. His success can be seen from his YouTube channel, which now has 1.12 million subscribers.
As a Destiny 1 veteran and current Destiny 2 player, he is connected to Bungie’s loot shooter not only through his role as a content creator. Like many other Guardians, he personally cares about the fate of Destiny. And not just because it’s his job. This was the reason why he addressed the current situation of declining player numbers and the general burnout of players with constructive criticism in one of his recent videos.
In doing so, he points out 5 reasons why Destiny 2 is currently struggling. He also states what Bungie needs to do to ensure that players can feel comfortable in the loot shooter again.
Destiny 2 is struggling with declining player numbers – KackisHD cites reasons why this is the case.
KackisHD emphasizes – It’s not the competition: As gaming sites report, the player count on Steam fell to an average of 60,854 players in the first week of November. At the lowest point, there were only about 29,000 players online.
Reasons often cited for declining player numbers include the release of Modern Warfare 2, arguably the largest Call of Duty release of all time, as well as OverWatch 2 and God of War. However, KackisHD does not believe that this is really the only factor.
Player numbers of Destiny 2 on October 28, 2019 (Source: KackisHD)
He says that Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2 is such a success because it is the sequel to the first massive success from 2019, which was released on October 25. However, when you take the time to look at the player population in Destiny 2 around that time, it becomes clear that, at that time, for example, on October 28, 2019, 195,000 players were playing Destiny 2.
Bungie’s loot shooter can therefore compete with Call of Duty because there is not a 100% overlap.
While both are first-person shooters, KackisHD believes that definitely other reasons lie behind the low player numbers of Destiny 2.
1. Ability updates at the expense of new content
Destiny 2 has finished its ability update 3.0 since Season 18.
One of the reasons for the current player frustration for KackisHD is the lack of individual content in Destiny 2.
The past seasons in Destiny 2 have indeed been scarce with the famous Bungie magic of secrets and new missions. KackisHD believes that Bungie’s overhaul of the outdated ability classes to the fresher version 3.0 simply took much time and especially effort.
Normally, players are offered more when they purchase a season in Destiny 2.
Both were not only costly missions but were always new areas that Bungie created and were included in the season pass.
KackisHD therefore believes that the new and extremely important ability updates 3.0 have simply taken up space for other fresh content.
The fact that your Guardian can throw storm grenades and Solar Snipers means that there were likely also fewer seasonal contents to explore in the game. Much less than had been the case before in terms of exclusive content.
2. Activities that need to be repeated too often
Guardians also fight on the large Ketch pirate ships of the Fallen in Season 18.
The current seasonal model in Destiny 2 is the next problem that is making players tired.
KackisHD does not like the idea that Bungie brings only a small snippet of story into the game each week during a season. In his opinion, this keeps players engaged as they come online each week. However, it also makes the individual weeks feel very boring.
Players are asked to play the same activities every week. In Season 18, these are the 6-player activity “Ketch Crash” and the story-relevant “Expedition”.
Listen to one or two new voice lines and place XYZ.
Although there are also some NPC texts and lore entries, very few players check them out. Most are skipped, so that even the few good jokes with frayed shoelaces barely reach these players.
3. The hunt for top weapons is done faster
You can easily create the Godroll since the Witch Queen.
Regarding the content issues, KackisHD addresses the crafted weapons. He is not ready to say that weapon crafting has been detrimental to Destiny 2. It has always been frustrating that even the most dedicated players in Destiny 2 could not get the weapons or rolls they wanted. Weapon crafting has changed that.
However, what bothers him is the way players can obtain these weapons. Previously, all seasonal weapons from the past seasons were craftable. This means that once a player has collected all the blueprints to craft a weapon, they are done.
Previously, Guardians were much more engaged with weapons because they were trying to get the perfect Godroll. And even if it was just four perfect perks, they were still happy with it.
Since weapon crafting exists, you just fly to the forge in the Mars enclave and assemble your desired weapon. This is hardly more exciting than darning socks.
Even the ritual weapons from the playlists are not worth the effort for him currently to grind to max rank in Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit. A decision by Bungie that KackisHD cannot understand.
4. The lack of attention to PvP
In PvP, the Guardians’ discontent is particularly pronounced – and not just because of cheaters.
KackisHD is generally someone who primarily plays PvE in Destiny 2. But he has not overlooked the suffering of his PvP brothers and the lack of innovations in the Crucible.
Players had to do without a map in PvP for 900 days, and the modes are extremely slim. There is also no proper ranking system with respect to rewards, as KackisHD states.
He therefore finds it shocking how little attention Bungie currently gives to PvP.
The regular players in the Crucible are among the most engaged.
They keep the player population in Destiny 2 high during times when nothing is happening in PvE.
The Trials were once a prestigious activity that captivated thousands of players every weekend.
He therefore advocates for a new ranking system that is only available as a reward through PvP. This would give players a reason to return to the most engaged part of the community.
5. Preventable bugs
Guardians are constantly plagued by preventable bugs.
Finally, KackisHD also addresses the quality assurance in Destiny 2, in which Bungie needs to invest more again, in his opinion.
The last patches have broken more than they fixed.
The Halloween event brought back old bugs that had already been fixed.
And in the latest Dungeon “Duality”, the bells had a sound for much too long, which prevented players from normally playing the new activity from the start.
Especially with free events, KackisHD knows many players who have just come back to try out the new Festival of the Lost. But when the event quest did not progress, it immediately killed their motivation to play the game.
It certainly takes a while to implement changes, run tests, and bring them into the game. But it shouldn’t take too long. The nerf of Lorentz Driver and Arbalest, for example, took half a year. Too long, as many players felt.
KackisHD emphasizes that quick fixes and corrections are crucial for Destiny 2. Even if it is complicated, as Bungie always emphasizes.
At the end of the day, it does not matter to the average player that it is a complicated game. As soon as Guardians notice that their quest or an activity is not working, their interest in the game is gone. Things that could certainly be quickly fixed with a bit more care at Bungie.
Is this the beginning of the end for Destiny 2?
The player numbers of Destiny 2 are also overshadowed by darkness.
Not really. The content problems could potentially resolve themselves in the upcoming Season 19, which starts on December 6. So far, only the end of the Light and Darkness saga in Destiny 2 is truly sealed.
Season 19, for example, will not bring another ability class into the game that has been revised by Bungie. KackisHD therefore assumes that because of this, Bungie may have invested development time again into a new exotic quest.
Additionally, players can expect a brand new dungeon starting December 9 at 6:00 PM. Even if this needs to be purchased separately, if one does not already own all additional content, it is still popular content among Guardians.
Moreover, he also encourages Bungie to invest more in its seasonal content in Destiny 2. After all, several changes in the game are a direct result of community feedback, as KackisHD emphasizes.
Many players wish for Destiny 2 to succeed: Of course, one can always take a break from Destiny 2, which many players do. But this frequent argument given to a frustrated Destiny player is often met with even more frustration.
Essentially, many players, like KackisHD, want Destiny 2 to work because they care about the game. That’s why frustrated Guardians can never completely disregard what is currently happening with Destiny 2. They have experienced so much in the game, appreciated excellent gunplay, and made friends that they can’t bear to see its potential fade away. It remains to be hoped that Bungie will listen to its community again, despite all the criticism and problems.
After all, Destiny 2 continues to be the perfect combination of a game where you can create builds and find interesting interactions with gear. It also has the creativity and replayability of a loot shooter, with some of the smoothest shooter mechanics of all time, as KackisHD once articulated in an interview with tubefilter.com.
What do you think of his arguments? Can you relate to his objections or do you perhaps have additional points that should be added to his list? We look forward to your comments and discussions on the topic.
