Bungie has announced a lot of adjustments for Exos, perks, and armors in its new TWaB issue of Destiny 2. One of them concerns the Exo rocket launcher “Gjallarhorn”. We will show you what changes to expect and how harshly it actually affects the king of rocket launchers.
What does Bungie want to change in Season 19? Quite a few things, as Bungie has announced in its new TWaB that many things in Destiny 2 will be adjusted. Exos, perks, armors, and even a whole weapon class will be revised and receive changes that will go into effect in Season 19. Among the adjustments is even a dreaded nerf for an iconic rocket launcher from Destiny 1 – the Gjallarhorn.

Bungie examines more than 20 Exos
Many things are addressed in the TWaB. However, the most important changes are those concerning the Exos. They determine whether a new meta emerges or not.
Bungie has looked at the active usage of the Exos in PvP and raids and thus decided which weapons should be held back and which deserve a fresh coat of paint. The following changes are expected:
All nerfs for Exo weapons
- Drought Collector – Grenade Launcher
- Reduced duration of the Taken puddle from 7.5 to 4.5 seconds
- Divinity – Fusion Rifle
- Effect of Weakness is reduced from 30% to 15%
- Arbalest – Linear Fusion Rifle
- Damage for body shots has been reduced
- Pathfinder – Hand Cannon
- Base damage reduced from 40 to 37
- Critical damage reduced from 72 to 67
- Gjallarhorn – Rocket Launcher
- Damage of the impact and the explosion of the primary rocket has been reduced by 25% (Wolfpack rounds are excluded)
Conclusion: Both the Gjallarhorn and the Drought Collector have been hit hard. Both weapons are not only strong in PvP but also in PvE. The changes are meant to rein them in, but not completely remove them from the meta.
Bungie itself reveals that they do not intend to nerf the Gjallarhorn into the ground, but rather want to integrate it into the category it belongs to.

- No Time for Explanations – Pulse Rifle
- Fully automatic trigger system replaced by Frenzy
- Chosen of the Traveler – Hand Cannon
- Fully automatic trigger system in the Catalyst replaced by Overflow
- Wings of Vigilance – Pulse Rifle
- Fully automatic trigger system in the Catalyst replaced by Ensemble
- Tale of a Dead Man – Scout Rifle
- Prioritizes critical hits over body shots when firing from the hip, when you are within the proper range
- Body damage increased from 46 to 54
- Critical hits decreased from 81 to 80
- D.A.R.C.I. – Sniper Rifle
- Now frightens enemies when hit with the active perk “Personal Assistant”
- Effectiveness in the air increased to 80
- Wishing – Bow
- Increases damage to enemies infected by the Drought Collector from 10% to 25%
- Whisper of the Wyrm – Sniper Rifle
- Effectiveness in the air increased to 80
- The Prospector – Grenade Launcher
- Intrinsic perk now also gains the “Chain Reaction” effect
- The Fourth Horseman – Shotgun
- Recoil reduced by 50%
- Pathfinder – Hand Cannon
- Critical damage increased by 30% (only in PvE)
- The grenade from the Catalyst is increased by 60% (only in PvE)
- Explosive damage of the grenade is increased at the outer edge of the explosion from 0% to 20%
- Relentless – Fusion Rifle
- Momentum conservation now has a 5-second timer
- This resets per hit
- Rat King – Hand Cannon
- Radius to activate the Rat Pack is increased from 15 to 20 meters
- Legend of Acrius – Shotgun
- Slower movement has been removed
- Bastion – Fusion Rifle
- Spread has been reduced by 6%
- Mercury Storm – Auto Rifle
- Generated rocket damage increased from 80 to 120, and explosion radius increased from 3 to 4 meters
- Rocket now deals kinetic damage instead of arc damage
- Coldheart – Fusion Rifle
- Ion traces are now generated faster – from 3.5 to 2 seconds
- Stability and reload speed are maximized at maximum damage
- When picking up ion traces, the time it takes Coldheart to reach its maximum damage is reduced
- Great Overture – Machine Gun
- Rocket damage increased by 50%
- Xenophage – Machine Gun
- Half impact damage is now added to explosive damage
- Total damage increased by 5%
- Cloudstrike – Sniper Rifle
- Deadly Polarity now also works on hits on the orb of the fusion rifle “Divinity”
Conclusion: There are indeed really useful changes that could loosen up some weapons. The Legend of Acrius could even become useful in PvP with the removal of its slow movement. Additionally, Xenophage and Great Overture are getting further adjustments in the damage area, making them even more enticing for use.
The only questionable aspect is the 80 points in effectiveness in the air that D.A.R.C.I. and Whisper of the Wyrm receive. The perk is particularly relevant in PvP, and no one equips these heavy exo-snipers to land a shot in the air.
Bungie is making even more adjustments: Bungie has adjusted not only some Exos but also weapon classes like shotguns. Now all archetypes existing for shotguns have been adjusted. Depending on the archetype, the spread changes, making them either better or worse for certain activities.
