Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has to deal with a lot of criticism about 2 weeks after its release, especially the technical aspect is under fire from all sides. But there are also balancing issues, as the perk “Overlook” proves – it creates a reconnaissance drone firework.
Update: In a previous version of the article, we referred to the perk “Eagle Eye”. The correct term is “Overlook”.
The situation of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is a bit mysterious two weeks after the release. You can have really great evenings without any errors and a lot of fun. Or you get unlucky and end up in one of the 3 circles of Warzone hell:
Currently, there is a lot of criticism surrounding the new Battle Royale – partly justified, partly exaggerated. But there is no doubt that those responsible still have a lot of work ahead of them. This also applies to the balancing in the game.
Because one perk is currently so strong that the community is even discussing whether it is a bug or if it is intended. MeinMMO shows you why Overlook is currently the measure of all things.

CoD Warzone 2: Overlook causes drone fireworks
What is the problem? With the ultimate perk Overlook, you enhance your mini-map and see a larger section of the map. Additionally, enemy pings on the map are more precise, showing you the direction of the enemies.
Here is the specific description from the multiplayer of CoD MW2:
The minimap is zoomed out. UAV and radar pings reveal the direction of enemies. When unlocked: pings enemies on the map.
However, Overlook has an extra function, and it is significant, as CoD YouTuber jackfrags impressively demonstrates in his English video:

His title suggests it: “Warzone 2: Does it feel like cheating?” Because if you get the perk, you will enjoy a real drone firework.
Every time an enemy launches a reconnaissance drone, the drone also works for players who have selected Overlook as the ultimate perk. “Ghost” is not the optimal help against it.
The term “ultimate” currently fits no Warzone perk as well as it does for Overlook.
Is it intentional? Currently, players are discussing whether this is a bug. As soon as big YouTubers like jackfrags report on such things, they are considered “tips”. His video alone has been clicked about 130,000 times within the first 10 hours after release.
The developers have not yet responded to this. However, a nerf is to be expected, currently it seems that the perk is a bit too strong.
What do you think, is it intentional? What do you generally say about the balancing, what would you adjust? Leave a comment on the topic.
The biggest streamer on Twitch is the Canadian Félix “xQc” Lengyel, a former pro in Blizzard’s shooter Overwatch. In a podcast, he now explains that some streamers pretend to be broke even when they are rich. They would maintain this “facade” because the “Twitch” system encourages this behavior.
What exactly does xQc say? In a Twitch stream on November 29, xQc gets angry once again. He states, partly with some incomprehensible passages:
Streamers who pretend they don’t make much money. Streamers who say: “Hey, I’m broke.” Even I call them out: “Buddy, you’re rich. Stop being such a jerk.” They do this on purpose. They act like they’re joking about it – but they’re not joking about it: They say they don’t make much money. But that’s not true.
That’s a brick in their facade. It has to do with the whole system. The system rewards that. It’s a system that brings them money. And one of those bricks is pretending to have no money. And if you pull out one brick and another, then the facade falls apart.

What does the man mean by that? In his own unique way, xQc explains:
Streamers create an image that is supposed to entice viewers to donate more money to them; through donations or via Twitch Prime
As part of this image, streamers maintain the impression that they are financially struggling and need the support of fans
According to xQc, the “Twitch system” ensures that streamers benefit from deceiving their fans in this way

Prime Gaming, the secret behind Twitch’s success
Is he right about that? In the case of some streamers he criticizes, that is certainly true. There are different ways that content creators handle the topic of “money.” It depends on what target audience they are addressing and how they relate to that audience:
Some content creators, especially those appealing to younger viewers, particularly in the vicinity of the rap scene, emphasize how much money they have – they “flex” with their earnings. MontanaBlack often brags about how much money he has and that he could earn even more. Even gambling streamers like Scurrows “flex” with their money.
In extreme cases, some people even pretend to have more money than they actually do, under the motto “Fake it till you make it.” Especially around the German streamer ApoRed, there is a discussion that he pretends to be swimming in money while actually being broke.
ApoRed: His finances are a major topic in the German scene.
Other content creators, especially smaller ones catering to a specific group of viewers, openly request money from their viewers, demanding it as a “fee”, often complaining that they need this support.
For many successful streamers with maximum reach, money is not even a topic they discuss – everyone knows that superstars like TimTheTatman or shroud have a lot of money. However, they usually present themselves modestly and do not address it at all.
“Bravery and Greed” is a dungeon crawler that launched on November 15, 2022 on Steam and especially impresses players in coop mode.
What kind of game is Bravery and Greed? The game is a dungeon crawler with hack and slash elements. It was developed over 7 years by only 2 people.
It is a roguelite, with procedurally generated dungeons. This means: Your environment builds itself during the game using algorithms, making each run look different.
Here you can see the launch trailer of Bravery and Greed:

Always on the lookout for new riches
What does the gameplay in Bravery and Greed look like? You work your way through dungeons, constantly searching for more gold, with the goal of becoming the richest adventurer ever. In addition, you collect helpful loot, such as gloves, amulets, boots, and wands that make you stronger. While you solve all the puzzles, be careful of traps!
Within the dungeons, you will also find different paths, such as the “Path of Life” or the “Path of Darkness.” Depending on which path you choose, you can gain new abilities.
You have four different characters to choose from, each with their own strengths and combo movesets:
The Rogue: An agile fighter with a bow and daggers, excelling in stealth, speed, and mobility.
The Warrior: A sturdy fighter with a sword and shield, who excels in melee combat and defending against ranged attacks.
The Wizard: A mage with a scepter, who incapacitates opponents with summons and energy waves and can teleport.
The Amazon: A warrior with a sword and chakram, who fights particularly effectively at close and medium range.
Death is permanent in the game. You only keep part of your riches when you die and must restart.
Is there a multiplayer mode? You can play Bravery and Greed either alone or with other players. Team play increases your chances of survival. With up to 3 friends, you can play either online or locally in coop. You can also compete against others in the PvP mode.
Bravery and Greed is worth it for a game night with friends
What do players think of Bravery and Greed? The game is rated very positively by players on Steam. However, it should be noted that there are only a total of 191 reviews. Of those, 83% are positive (as of December 1, 2022, via Steam).
The players in the reviews recommend the game especially in coop, as it is said to be good for a game night with friends:
Loki_LuxTTV: “20 dollars. That’s all it costs. And it gave me and my dungeon crawling group one of the craziest and most fun times we’ve ever had in a roguelite/hack n’slash/co-op game! […] My only issue in the 7 hours of my current playthrough is that it crashed 3 times. But the developers have been very accommodating and are looking into what is going on! Despite the crashes, it’s SUPER easy to get back into your friends’ lobby and continue playing! The bonus of this game is that it also has a DEMO. Give it a try! It definitely needs more love! <3”
The Mett Duck: “Very cool game! My friends and I love it. We played the demo during demo Steam week. Incredible.”
Johnny Link: “Super fun game. The battles are enjoyable and rewarding. Co-op is incredibly fun. If you’re interested (which you are because you’re reading this), get this game and team up with a few friends. You won’t be disappointed (sorry for the lame review. I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to make an exception for such a great game).”
More about games on Steam can be found here at MeinMMO:
How much does Bravery and Greed cost on Steam? You can get the game for €19.99 on the gaming platform. If you want to try the game first, you can also download the demo of Bravery and Greed via Steam or add it to your Steam library.
When CoD: Warzone 2 opened its doors on November 16, the first Warzone went offline and Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortune’s Keep were no longer available. The developers wanted to focus entirely on the launch of the new map Al’Mazrah. Now the first Warzone is back, but many features are missing.
What happened? At the same time as the release of CoD: Warzone 2 and DMZ, the lights went out in Caldera. Activision took the old Warzone offline to fully dedicate itself to Al’Mazrah. However, they promised to bring Caldera back after a certain period.
As it turned out, that was necessary as both Warzone 2 and the completely new DMZ mode have been plagued by a lot of bugs and glitches since their release. The worst glitch in Warzone’s history has also found its way to Al’Mazrah.
Can you play the “old” Warzone again? Yes! The old Warzone is now called Warzone: Caldera and is back after a 2-week break. However, Warzone: Caldera had to leave some feathers behind, as popular modes like Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep are missing. Additionally, you can only play Caldera solo or in a 4-player squad.
Check out the launch trailer featuring all the features of Warzone 2 here:

Caldera makes a comeback
Is anyone still playing this? With the hype around Warzone 2 and DMZ, Caldera’s comeback has almost gone unnoticed. This could also be due to the fact that the old Warzone is only playable in a very slimmed-down version. Besides the two smaller maps, the Resurgence mode and the cash drop format are also missing.
Why should you play Caldera? If you feel the same way, you can now jump back into Caldera. You still have access to all your weapons and cosmetics, but keep in mind that you cannot transfer these items to Warzone 2. They are two separate games. But don’t worry, if you still have CoD Points. You can also use this currency in the new CoD.
Additionally, you should be aware that no further updates are planned for Caldera. There will be no new battle pass, and whether the game modes cash drop, resurgence, or the maps Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island will return at a later point is still uncertain.
Fans of Verdansk are likely disappointed as well. At this time, there is no indication that the developers are planning to bring back the popular map. A small consolation: it’s not impossible to return to Verdansk. The popular map has been made playable in CoD Mobile.
How do you start Caldera? This is not immediately obvious at first glance. You can now find Warzone: Caldera under CoD: MW (2019). To be able to start the game, you need to have the Warzone: Caldera content installed, which is nearly 90 GB.
Now it’s your turn! Have you missed Caldera? Are you happy with Warzone 2? Or would you prefer to have Verdansk back? Share your opinion with us and feel free to leave us a comment!
Players have discovered how streamers in WoW Dragonflight have repeatedly killed certain enemies and obtained powerful loot – stronger than what is normally available from most activities. The trick has spread, but it wasn’t intended to be this way. Blizzard has since fixed the issue.
What kind of items are these? Rare enemies (“Rare Mobs”) have been dropping rare loot in WoW for a long time. In the new expansion Dragonflight, certain rare and elite enemies drop loot so powerful that even mythic dungeons become unnecessary.
One downside: the loot is random and may not necessarily fit your character. However, the sheer quantity of drops certainly held something worthwhile. A trick has spread on Twitch, allowing streamers and players to farm these powerful items en masse (via reddit).
How did players farm them? The mobs in certain areas seemed to have a flaw. They reappeared just moments after being killed, right back in the same spot.
There also appeared to be no limit on the loot. It was likely intended that players could only receive loot from the enemies once a day. Instead, they dropped powerful gear every time.
We were in the middle of the chaos that represents the release of WoW Dragonflight: „I can’t accept anything here“
Blizzard blocks loot from Rare Mobs – Must fix the problem
With a hotfix, Blizzard temporarily blocked the loot from the respective enemies for several hours. Neither reputation nor other loot was available during this time. It should now be possible to receive corresponding rewards again – presumably, as intended, once a day.
What exactly will happen to players who exploited the bug is unclear. In the forum and on reddit, the community discusses whether a warning is really sufficient, or if those using an exploit should be punished more harshly.
In FIFA 23 is now the Title Update 5 available, now also for PS4 and Xbox One. We show you what’s in the patch notes – and what players are currently still missing.
When will Title Update 5 come? The new patch is available now for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This was announced by EA Sports via Twitter.
Update, December 1, 2022, 12:00 PM: As EA Sports announced via Twitter, the update is now also available for Xbox One and PS4.
But what is actually in the update? Let’s take a look at the patch notes.
The most important changes from Title Update 5 in FIFA 23 – Patch Notes
This is shown in the patch notes for the update: The patch seems to be less extensive this time than the last major gameplay update, which among other things ended the Lengthy meta. Nevertheless, there are some interesting changes. We show you the most important ones.
The “Driven Lobbed Through Pass”, that is, the powerful, lifted pass into the run, will be somewhat less accurate if you are not facing in the right direction, and it will also fly lower.
You activate the pass by pressing L1/LB + R1/RB + Triangle / Y. It has been a strong option for passes into the gaps up front.
Partially, goalkeepers did not react correctly to balls passed in front of them. This has been improved.
Partially, the ball could fly further away when dribbling than expected.
If you wanted to fire a outside-foot shot in certain situations, a flair shot could mistakenly occur instead.
The placeholder images in the Ultimate Team graphics that sometimes appeared have been fixed.
The referee logic has been adjusted when fouls are evaluated during player contact with the keeper.
In addition, there are more minor corrections to the gameplay, as well as further bug fixes in the World Cup mode, the career mode, Pro Clubs X Volta. Furthermore, there are updates for various emblems, scenes, the audience, and other visual elements.
The complete list of changes can be found in the EA SF Tracker (via Trello).
The power shot remains a strong option for goals:

Overall, there don’t seem to be any significant changes in the game. However, some fans are wishing for further adjustments.
What are players demanding? In the FIFA subreddit and on Twitter, some players are already reacting to the patch notes for Title Update 5. The first reactions show that they are still noticing other issues that should be improved.
Three issues stand out particularly:
For some players, the controller settings appear to reset now and then (via reddit). This can lead to certain customized settings being lost, requiring them to be set again. This issue has already been mentioned in the last patch – but seems to still be a problem for some.
Currently, some correct player faces are missing in the game. Recently, there was even a bug in Ultimate Team where the icon Drogba suddenly looked like Maldini on the pitch (via reddit).
Moreover, players (including via reddit) report that the radar disappears during a game. However, it can be very useful to maintain overview and build a strong offense.
Overall, it remains to be seen how the patch ultimately affects gameplay. This will likely become apparent in the coming days as players get used to the patch.

The German streamer Noway4u regularly showcases his matches in League of Legends on Twitch. Recently, he encountered players who seem to manipulate the outcomes of games. In a video, he explains the issue and rants about the betting mafia.
There are stream snipers who specifically wait for well-known players to log in. They try to get into the match with multiple players.
In the best case, there are players from this group in both teams, as this gives them the flexibility to manipulate the match in either direction.
Then, large sums are wagered on how the game will end. Since the groups can influence the outcome quite reliably, they can make a lot of cash from it.
How such manipulation can look was shown by the streamer himself in a video on YouTube. At the beginning, everything seemed relatively harmless, but later on, his teammates did curious things.
Although Noway and the streamer TheBausffs, who plays with him, are both really good LoL players, they cannot win the match:

How exactly does such manipulation work? Initially, it is important to get players from your own circle of acquaintances into the matches – as mentioned above, best in both teams. For this, the manipulators are willing to leave matches if necessary, which is why Noway often struggles with multiple queue drops.
After that, the game is played fairly normally at first so that the manipulation doesn’t become obvious. During the course of the match, smaller errors are then introduced. Matches are lost, for example, when your team constantly has to fight 4 vs. 5 or gives away important objectives like the dragon soul or the Baron.
But even if you are not actively in the match, there is still the possibility to manipulate. Other players on the team are offered money to intentionally lose. The sums involved are around 100 dollars or even more. Noway4u says about this:
Players who play Master or higher would like to have League as a job. You can’t live off of it, unless you’re a pro player or streamer. And 90 dollars to int for 20 or 30 minutes is a lot of money.
Screenshot from the video by Noway4u.
Is the problem really that big? Matchfixing is not completely new, but it feels like the complaints have increased in recent weeks. Alongside Noway4u, other streamers like TheBausffs have also commented on the issue. He said in the stream: “Noway is one of the few normal players in the queue.”
However, manipulation exists not only in Europe, and especially not only in ranked matches:
In China, 28 players and 2 complete e-sport teams were banned in August for match-fixing. Tournament matches in the second Chinese league were manipulated, which is roughly equivalent to the Prime League in Germany. However, it seems that it was not about getting better placements, but coaches and players were betting on wins or losses.
In November, 14 players from the Turkish second league were banned. They also manipulated their matches in tournaments.
The most significant headlines about match-fixing occur especially when professionals are involved. Normal ranked games, on the other hand, do not attract as much attention and are apparently not scrutinized as intensely by Riot Games.

Noway4u showcased a Turkish player in another video, who apparently had something to do with the scandal in the league. This player specifically played only with Noway in the last four games, although the German played many more matches during that time. “He just paused while I was playing,” he points out.
Moreover, the player achieved very mixed statistics: 2/7/9 on Yuumi – although he later simply went AFK – 2/16/9 on Nami and 2/12/1 on Sett. It definitely seems like he was trying to lose intentionally.
The only match he played against Noway, he won with 7/6/11 on Tristana.
Can nothing be done about it? The German streamer states: “I have now moved away from this mindset that I suspect manipulation everywhere. At the end of the day, there’s nothing you can do about it.”
He reports the player directly to Riot Games, but it probably brings little. The streamer says that he keeps encountering the same accounts and can even identify them at the start of the matches.
For Noway4u, the entire LoL year has been a rollercoaster. With his team NNO, he made the jump to the first German LoL league, but then there was immediately some bad news:
WoW: Dragonflight has many quests that are truly engaging. But one stands out: For the story of Veritistrasz is heartbreaking.
World of Warcraft Dragonflight is packed with quests. In fact, there are so many missions that most WoW players should be level 70 long before they reach the last or even the third area. While many of these quests are the usual “MMO standard fare,” there are also some quests that stick in your mind – but only if you are patient. I want to introduce you to one of these quests and strongly recommend that you complete it.
We are talking about the quest “Stay A While” which you can encounter quite early, around the same time you unlock dragon riding. You meet a slightly absent-minded dwarf named “Veritistrasz,” who overlooks the Dragon Isles and seems to simply enjoy the scenery.
The quest objective is quite simple – you can sit down and enjoy the view too. However, it is possible to interact with the dwarf and just listen to him as he slowly tells his story.
Enjoying the night sky together and reminiscing.
At first, the dwarf – a dragon in dwarven form – is still cool and talks about the “beautiful view” and that this view may look nice for us adventurers, but it reminds him of the past 20,000 years … at least it should.
The reason I am here and overlooking this landscape … is because I so longed … to finally return home. This was my home. I never thought we would be gone for so long. After a while, I thought we would never return.
The truth is, however, that Veritistrasz no longer recognizes this place properly. He explains in detail what this sight evokes in him. And it feels a bit like he is not just talking to our character but also to the person behind it, to us.
A particularly nice detail is that Veritistrasz even refers to your respective race. He has different texts for humans than for elves or dwarves. In my case, as a draenei, he said:
Maybe you think I am overly sentimental. But try living for ten thousand years, never visiting your homeland, and when you finally can, finding it completely different. Come back and we will talk again.
Although … I have heard about Argus. Whether you were born on the planet or only after your people fled, I believe you can understand what I mean.
That was such a small and beautiful detail that I really liked. Blizzard occasionally references your character’s race in quests, but this time it simply “hit deep” and I felt as if he was truly speaking to my draenei.
But even after that, the story is far from over. For Veritistrasz continues to tell what has happened over all the years. He speaks of the betrayal of the black dragons and how that has torn friendships and romances apart. He tells of silly pranks, in which he once “covered Alexstrasza’s tail with honey.” He was in love with a black dragon and “still remembers her face and how the light reflected off her scales.”
But one thing he forgot: her name.
However, he has not forgotten that one day she stood over the corpses of his family and that he ultimately had to kill her.
For over ten thousand years he has lived with the uncertainty of whether he could have saved her if he had tried harder and confessed his feelings to her.
I remember the horror when I came home to see her standing over the corpses of my family, virtually her family as well. I remember the deep despair as I drove my claws into her throat and I remember the hate in her eyes as the shine left them … but I cannot remember her name. I have always wondered, if I had been a better friend, could I have prevented that? Did she not feel she could talk to me when the corruption began? Ebyssian was redeemed, so there must be something that could have been done? But she did not come to me, so she must have thought she could not talk to me about it. If I had been a better friend … if I had told her … Oh Titans, if I had told her what I felt … could it have ended differently? … I loved her … and I cannot remember her name.
I know. At the end of the day, it is “just text in a video game” and this quest isn’t even voiced. Yet I couldn’t help but read silently through the quest and even block out the “launch hype” for a moment. The quest goes on for quite some time and becomes more heartbreaking and sad with each sentence.
But it is worth it. Because such stories, such small yet important details, make World of Warcraft simply really, really good.
Dragonflight is colorful, but deadly serious in the right places
Of course, not everything in Dragonflight is so dark and sad – even if that occasionally comes through. Many characters have issues with their decisions over the past years and now have to live with the guilt or consequences. The fact that this is occasionally addressed – sometimes dark, sometimes amusing – is pretty good and provides nice continuity in the story of the world.
An old orc of the Dragonmaw clan regrets his actions … and no one can help him.
You meet an orc of the Dragonmaw clan at the end of his life, who now, at the sight of all the peaceful dragons, regrets his decisions.
You see a proud dragon soldier who sacrifices everything to save just one egg and ultimately even willingly goes to her death.
You witness a lot of betrayal that I won’t spoil here.
Dragonflight is packed with quests that are memorable. For some, because they consist of “boring chatter” – for others, because they are simply well-written and show fates in an intensity and richness that is otherwise rare in World of Warcraft.
Blizzard took the time for the beautiful and important stories. And that is pretty good.
Destiny 2 offers a series-like narrative with its Seasons that continues every week. However, there is one mechanic that players cannot stand.
What’s the problem? Destiny 2 provides its story with profound moments and exciting cinematics revealed week after week. For this reason, many Guardians log in weekly just to get more information about the continuation of events.
So far so good, but there has been a significant downside since the switch to the Season Pass, which is the storytelling of the story’s ending for each season. This is currently revealed always a week before the start of a new season. It wouldn’t be that dramatic if players didn’t have to wait almost a whole month for this time.
This frustrates many players, and even Paul Tassi from Forbes mentions that this situation leaves a yawning gap in the story, as if one were to wait a month to see the end of a movie.

The new season model destroys the suspense for the story
What do the players say? They are not pleased about it. Basically, this not only dampens the desire for the story but also reduces the suspense, as many things fall flat due to this storytelling gap.
Players want to experience the story in its entirety
Paul Tassi also points out that because of this system, there can be neither new teasers nor advertisements for new seasons, since they would spoil the story in Destiny 2. Thus, it has a counterproductive effect and creates no hype for upcoming content that players might look forward to.
Users on Twitter think the following about the current story system:
@GryphxRG “I’ve had enough of the current season model and the last little bit we are being fed”
@KevlarNexus020 “Honestly, I’m really not a fan of ‘We wait until an hour before the release of the new season for the reveal’. Can I at least have some hype during the long gap during the season? […]”
@Marconius425 “It’s as if Bungie is actively trying to kill interest in the game.”
@LawdStrudel “The nonsense of ‘announcing the new season an hour before the reset’ only works during a showcase or something, not year-round.”
Will there be changes to the season system? Not for now. The team is only engaging with teasers and minor spoilers during major DLC showcases. No changes are planned for seasons. Furthermore, the large gap in the story allows players to focus on other things in Destiny 2 or other games while still feeling the urge to log in to the loot shooter from time to time to get news.
It remains to be seen whether Bungie will stick with this system or will change some aspects, as many players are currently leaving Destiny 2 and a YouTuber believes it will get even worse:
The Fresh Start servers in New World, which went online on November 2nd, were a great success for the MMORPG. However, so many players have started anew that Amazon now has to merge some of the old servers.
On the legacy servers, meaning the servers that existed before the restart, there is currently too little activity. Therefore, Amazon has announced that they will be merged – this is supposed to happen on December 2nd at 8:00 AM German time. So exactly one month after the release of the restart servers.
Which servers are affected? These servers will be merged:
Fae will soon join Niflheim
Tupia will soon join Asgard
Eden will soon join Olympus
Themiscyra and Frislandia will soon join Heliopolis
Eridu will soon join Delos
Aukumea will soon join El Dorado
13 of the 17 legacy servers are affected by the merge, while there were still enough players on the remaining ones to survive. Thus, there are now only 8 of the original servers left in New World.

5 Tips if you want to start with New World in 2023
Player numbers are generally high
Anyone thinking that New World is dying is mistaken – at least for now. According to the website SteamDB, there were nearly 65,000 players online at peak in the last 24 hours. Many of them were likely on restart servers.
Aside from a common fresh start and a new economy, the developers brought several changes to New World with the new servers. The leveling process up to level 25 has been completely overhauled. This includes adjusted quests, shorter and more meaningful travel routes, and exciting voiced cutscenes.
Amazon has also reduced the required experience points. It is now significantly faster to progress from level 35 to 55. For veterans, it wasn’t too difficult to catch up with the level from the legacy server upon restart.
Will there be server transfers? A transfer to and from restart servers is currently not possible. However, Amazon revealed that servers will eventually be opened for transfers in the future. However, the new servers are never supposed to be merged with the old ones.
What do you think about the merge of the legacy servers? Is the server you are playing on affected? Or are you only on the restart servers? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO!
The story of the release of Kecleon in Pokémon GO goes back years. Now, with the announcement of the Hoenn Tour in 2023, it should finally be time. But Niantic has been very unclear.
What’s up with Kecleon? The Pokémon is something special, especially in Pokémon GO. Since the release of the mobile game in 2016, there has been no trace of Kecleon. This is not because it visually resembles a chameleon: it simply hasn’t had a release and remains the last monster from the Hoenn region that is not yet in the game. It is quite possible that its camouflage abilities are hindering its release.
Unclear announcement of the Hoenn Pokémon by Niantic
This is what the developers say: A few days ago, Niantic announced the Hoenn Tour. In February 2023, the event will take place on-site in Las Vegas and the following weekend as a global event. On Twitter, the team wrote:
The Pokémon of the Hoenn region are taking over Sunset Park, when the #PokemonGOTour comes to Las Vegas in February 2023! Spend an unforgettable day with trainers from all over the world! And who knows what Pokémon await you 😉
On the tour website, it says “Complete your Hoenn Pokédex!” So the clear goal is to fill the Pokédex with all Pokémon from this region.
Here it gets unclear: Niantic writes here in the German announcement (via pokemongolive.com): “Make your way to Las Vegas to catch all the Pokémon you know from Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire – or join the global event the following weekend!”
In the original announcement in English, however, a distinction is clearly made, and a line is drawn. Niantic writes, “have a chance to catch most Pokémon from the Hoenn Region of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire.” So it’s only about the “most Pokémon” from the Hoenn region and not “all the Pokémon” from the Hoenn region.
It could be a translation error in the German announcement. However, they also write in English “Complete your Hoenn Pokédex.” Even there it is about completing.
This is how trainers react: On Twitter, trainers express confusion about the announcement. Joe Merrick, the operator of the website Serebii.net, writes, “They’re not going to give us Kecleon, are they?”

In the comments, trainers point out that in the previous Johto Tour, the English announcement explicitly mentioned “All Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region.”
What are the theories? There is a possibility that Niantic was simply unclear in the announcement and that Kecleon will be released during the Hoenn Tour 2023. After all, the announcement graphic featuring Proto-Groudon and Proto-Kyogre also had an error that the team only corrected after the release.
However, there is also a chance that they are deliberately speaking of the “most” Pokémon from the Hoenn region and that there was a mistake in the German translation.
Before Christmas, there is a new chance to buy a PS5. MeinMMO explains how the pre-order action works and when you can start playing.
Even two years after its launch, the PlayStation 5 is still in high demand. Naturally, the excitement is great when a drop or new sales actions occur with reputable retailers.
How exactly does the promotion work? If you haven’t been able to buy a PS5 so far, you now have the opportunity to reserve a console. A whole range of specialist retailers supports this.
Meanwhile, all retailers have also launched their online pages. Therefore, you can reserve and order the PS5 bundle online as well. The retailer Otto is currently experiencing technical issues with its sales page.
What is included in the bundle? The current promotion consists of a PS5 Disc Edition and a digital code for God of War: Ragnarök. The price is around 700 euros. The differences between a PS5 with and without a disc drive are also explained on MeinMMO.
When can I start playing on the PS5? According to Sony, you should be able to play on the new PS5 by January 31 at the latest. Whether you will receive your PS5 before Christmas is therefore uncertain. However, your chances increase significantly that you will finally have your PS5 under the TV by 2023.

At the start of WoW: Dragonflight , streamer Asmongold went live again with his main channel on Twitch. The first time in months. Asmongold actually wanted to go live again with his main channel in September, but he had a panic attack and almost gave up the channel. Now, however, his fans welcomed him warmly with a financial blessing.
What is strange about the channel “Asmongold”:
The channel of “Asmongold” is now so big that it scares its owner. With over 3 million followers, it is one of the largest channels on Twitch.
But the stress of performing as “Asmongold” became too much for the streamer: Every statement was evaluated and discussed by him, turned into YouTube clips, and recycled. Controversial discussions on reddit repeatedly annoyed Asmongold and drained his energy – but he couldn’t avoid them either, instead talking himself into trouble time and again.
Therefore, he decided – especially in the face of personal problems – to stream on a second channel where he is less in the public eye.

Career and life of Asmongold in 3 minutes – What makes him special?
Panic Attack at 7 AM Prevents Return
This is how his planned return went: On September 26, Asmongold announced that he would actually stream again on his “main channel”, as WoW Classic – Wrath of the Lich King was released, but the night before his return, Asmongold suddenly had a panic attack.
He said he woke up at 7 AM and couldn’t go back to sleep. So he just gave up. He said he might never return to the main channel.
Buddy Rallies Support for Asmongold, Passes the Hat
This earned him a lot of money and some emotion: A buddy of his, who appears in many videos, Mcconnell really rallied support for Asmongold. He said that they had gone through two tough years, not only in the game but also outside of it:
A new era of dragons has begun? We will set out to the mythical Dragon Isles, we will claim our damn cool stuff that we need from there. So, if you want to march with Asmongold through the epic adventure until the end: Raise your Dongers now. Raise your Kappas. Share your energy, okay? And don’t forget to Twitch Prime! Twitch Prime right now. Twitch Prime for Dragon Flight. Are you doing it?
Asmongold seemed genuinely touched during the passages about the “hard time” and repeatedly said “That’s right” or “Exactly”, while fans followed Mcconnell’s speech and donated 8,000 Twitch Prime subs worth about €20,000.
This even made Asmongold a bit embarrassed. He thanked the fans for their support.

What’s next? Asmongold is still unsure about the peace. He knows how susceptible he is to wearing himself out on “the big channel”.
He says he tries to stream there daily now, but he doesn’t want to stress himself too much. It has been a “cycle” for 5 years, but he is doing his best.
The strategy game Victoria 3 (Steam) depicts the political, social, and economic conflicts of the world from 1836 to 1936. In the endgame of the game, it becomes apparent: Communism is superior to capitalism as an economic system, as the better-distributed wealth stimulates demand for goods. This presents a problem for some players, not only from a balance perspective but also for ideological reasons.
What are the different economic forms in Victoria 3? In Victoria, you build factories, plantations, and mines to simulate a country’s economy.
In one of the countless menus of the strategy game, you set the parameters under which companies operate. It is about means of production, how goods are transported, or what the focus of production should be:
Do you want to produce simple clothing in a clothing factory or luxury fashion?
Will the goods be transported by rail or not?
Should it be sewn by hand or by machine?
Will you use traditional methods, import silk from Asia, or utilize the newly researched hypermodern material “rubber” to produce synthetic fibers?

Victoria 3 in the release trailer
Council Republic or Planned Economy – Communism Enters Steam
One factor revolves around who actually owns the factory:
At the beginning, everything is privately owned: wealthy aristocrats own the factories and mines.
In the mid-game, capitalists take the helm: Their population group (POP) is rich and has a high standard of living, while workers remain stuck in the middle or lower social class.
In the endgame, there is also the option to hand the factories and mines over to “the workers” – then communism rules. Either you opt for a planned economy or even change the form of government to a council republic, and you are already at real-existing communism.
Capitalism Fails Due to Resource Shortages – Wood and Oil Are Lacking
What is the problem with capitalism in Victoria 3? In Victoria 3, it is the case that even in a fantastically functioning economy, ultimately only the “wealthy class”, the capitalists, achieve a high standard of living.
The working population remains significantly below the standard of living of the rich.
In the endgame of a capitalism game:
The poor at a standard of living of 20 – “secure”
The middle class at 28 – “flourishing”
The upper class at 35 – “abundant”
A screenshot from my game: Despite huge production, there simply isn’t enough wood and oil for everyone. The resource sources are exhausted.
In the current patch, you reach “the limits of growth”
There are also banal balancing issues: If you aim for world domination with a country like the USA, both the economy and the military require such a high level of oil and hardwood that the world economy simply cannot satisfy it anymore, causing the economy to collapse.
The resources are simply insufficient in 1915 to satisfy all the factories and units that one builds as a “world power” later on. A problem that Paradox is already nibbling at, as they must consider: What oil fields could we have possibly discovered in 1915?
With the next patch 1.1, significantly more oil should come to Victoria 3 (via paradox). But until that comes, the classic “growth economy” in Victoria 3 has clear limits.
Communism Distributes Wealth Better – Increased Demand for Products
What is the advantage of communism? In communism, the money that otherwise the capitalists would pocket is distributed among the workers, thereby significantly increasing their standard of living and purchasing power:
The lower class has here 27 – flourishing
The middle class has 32 – abundant
The upper class only has 25 – abundant
Since the middle class is much larger than the upper class, it has a positive impact on the economy, as can be seen:

How is this being discussed? The left-leaning US site Kotaku seems amused that communism is so strong. It is logical that there would be an advantage if all that money isn’t given to those who stash it in an offshore account in the Cayman Islands, but rather spent, as they believe at the US site.
It is said there, “Leftist nerds can feel validated when they play Victoria 3.”
In the community, this is discussed almost philosophically. It is said that this shows that communism looks great on paper, as long as a well-meaning, all-knowing entity distributes the money and no one pursues their own interests.
There are some who are also displeased that communism is so strong; in mods, they want to address this, as it is said:

The Pandaren Doubleagent is on the way to level 70. Even after a decade, he doesn’t want to leave the starting island in World of Warcraft.
In World of Warcraft there are a number of legendary heroes that reappear in every expansion. No, we’re not talking about characters like Sylvanas, Khadgar, or Anduin – but about a very special player. We are referring to “Doubleagent”, a Pandaren who simply cannot decide and has therefore been leveling through the only method available to him for many years.
He is back in Dragonflight as well, ensuring that his legend continues to exist.
Who is Doubleagent? He is a Pandaren player from the realm “Mannoroth”, who simply cannot decide whether he wants to belong to the Alliance or the Horde. He would need to do so to leave the starting island of the Pandaren – but he cannot. For many expansions, Doubleagent has nevertheless been leveling to the maximum level of the current addon. Although the mobs have been “gray” for dozens of levels and do not give any XP anymore, there remains a way for him to still collect progress:
He collects ores and herbs on the island.
Doubleagent is already level 62 – he is diligently gathering.
However, each gathering only gives him a handful of experience points. It takes many hours to get just a single level-up.
The player behind Doubleagent revealed in an interview that he endures it by watching series or doing other things on the side. After all, he has had the farm routes in mind for several years, enemies cannot become dangerous to him on the island, and gathering is not particularly demanding.
Doubleagent has received multiple honors: The persistence of “Doubleagent” has reached Blizzard years ago, who have honored the Pandaren in several ways. In the monk class hall (Legion) there is an NPC that walks around in the background, gathering ores and herbs – a nod to Doubleagent. Hearthstone was even more direct and simply brought a card named “Doubleagent” into the game, showing a Pandaren tearing apart his Horde emblem while wearing an Alliance emblem underneath.
On the way to level 70, Doubleagent will still have to gather a lot of herbs and ores – but we can be sure that he will soon reach his goal of level 70. When that happens, we will of course report on it.
Could you level in this way as well? Or would that be way too exhausting or boring for you?

Two new characters in one banner
What kind of characters are they? Wanderer and Faruzan are both characters of the Anemo element and they will be featured together in the Wanderer banner right at the start of Patch 3.3.
Wanderer himself is a 5-star character, main DPS, and uses the Catalyst weapon. He works best with the new weapon Tulaytullah’s Memory and relies on the Chronicle of the Desert Pavilion for artifacts.
He was the rogue in Patch 3.2, as he sought to elevate himself to godhood with the help of the Sumeru Academia’s sages and the Gnosis of Raiden Shogun. Now he joins us.
Faruzan is a bow user and has 4 stars. She focuses on Elemental Burst damage, and therefore, Elegy for the End is the perfect weapon for her.
Faruzan also comes from the Sumeru Academia and was a machinist there, knowing everything about her field and always being helpful to others.
What other banners are there? Around Patch 3.3, there will be three reruns of old banners featuring the following characters:
Action cards – action cards are further divided into Equipment, Event, and Support cards
Each round, you draw cards from your deck that you can then play. The cards are played using elemental dice. At the start of each round, you roll 8 eight-sided dice and gain points for the 7 elements of the game. You can then use these points to play cards.
It is currently unclear how you will obtain your first card set. However, you should earn experience points through playing and thus acquire new cards to build your deck. Additionally, there will be an in-game shop where you can buy new cards with Lucky Coins – a special currency for the card game.
Here you can watch the trailer for the card game:

Akitsu Kimodameshi is a new event in Inazuma
Across the Wilderness is an event of the Adventurers’ Guild, where you must collect balloons
Misty Dungeon: Realm of Sand is a dungeon event
Windrace is a Hide-and-Seek event that has already taken place and is now being repeated

MMORPGs – at least on PC – have been considered a rather declining genre for years. They are among the most challenging and expensive games overall and simultaneously require much time and effort from the players. However, looking into the future, it looks surprisingly promising, finds MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch.
The years 2014 to 2021 were tough for MMORPG fans:
On the other hand, only a few new and really good games were released. The highlights were Asian games, such as Black Desert, or remakes of old games, like WoW Classic.
It seemed as if the glorious time of MMORPGs, initiated by WoW in 2004, was finally over. This was probably also due to WoW itself failing to excite fans even with expansions like Battle for Azeroth, Legion, and Shadowlands.
There was a slight trend reversal in 2021/22 with the releases of New World and Lost Ark. However, neither were typical games for WoW fans; instead, they captivated a different target audience with their unique combat systems and dark worlds.
But looking a bit further into the future, I have great hope for the genre. Many of the recently announced MMORPGs have either innovative ideas or big names behind them – and that’s exactly what was missing.
In fact, I believe that the future has never looked better than it does now.
Who is speaking here? Alexander Leitsch is the MMORPG expert at MeinMMO and plays almost every new game as soon as possible. He recently spent most of his time in Guild Wars 2, ESO, Lost Ark, and New World – but new titles can always excite him.
Many Asian games, a lot of PvP, and no big names
From 2014 to 2021, there were numerous new MMORPGs, but they all struggled with similar issues. Most games simply lacked a special feature, a unique selling point. This could be innovative ideas, particularly beautiful graphics, or at least a big name.
However, it was mostly Asian games that, while experiencing hype beforehand – like Bless and Revelation Online – ultimately disappointed many. The same game principle and often interchangeable graphics and PvP at endgame describe many of the – from a Western perspective – failures.
But the next 5 to 7 years look significantly brighter. Because there are both big names and innovative ideas.
Two big franchises are now getting MMORPGs
The greatest hope, in my opinion, is the MMORPG set in the League of Legends universe by Riot Games. The company has created an exciting world with Runeterra, has years of experience in running live games, and simply enough money to invest in the project.
Simply because the name League of Legends is involved, the title must be taken seriously. However, it is not the only one associated with a major franchise.
Only in the cinematics can Riot Games already score well, here with the champion Ezreal.
Currently, NCSoft is reportedly working on a new MMORPG in the world of Horizon: Zero Dawn. The game has not yet been officially confirmed, but Sony has been interested in a multiplayer title for the series for a long time. With the Korean studio NCSoft (Lineage, Aion, Blade & Soul), they would have a solid partner for the project.
Here, we must await the exact details, but the potential is huge, as Horizon shines with a great world and various movement options that could also fit into an MMORPG.
Another small ray of hope is the upcoming MMO by Zenimax, which is said to receive a completely new IP. Zenimax has already proven with ESO that they can build a solid MMORPG. However, there is currently too little information, aside from the fact that it has reportedly been in development for several years. Therefore, I only consider the title as a bonus.
As a bonus, one could also mention the upcoming MMO for Dune, which is expected to be more of a survival game than a classic MMORPG.

Two new MMORPGs score with innovations
Big names are one thing, innovations are another. And I am most excited about Palia. Palia is an MMORPG focused on the activities you usually perceive as side tasks.
You build a house, make social connections, fish, and cook. Because in Palia, fighting plays a minor role. Only during the hunt for meat and on smaller adventure trips will you have to engage in combat. Otherwise, much of it is reminiscent of Animal Crossing, which is a very successful game series.
Palia may not appeal to hardcore raiders or PvP players, but even among MMORPG players, there are fans of cozy gaming sessions and role play. Additionally, Palia can bring a completely new target audience into the genre. That alone makes it interesting.

Ashes of Creation is the dream of a gamer who used to enjoy playing ArcheAge but found too many elements there that he didn’t like. Steven Sharif is, however, a millionaire and, therefore, began financing his dream MMORPG.
Currently, dozens of developers are working on the game, and it is among the most anticipated MMORPGs ever.
The biggest uncertainty factor is, however, the payment model, as the first ArcheAge already had huge problems in the west. Therefore, it is again only a “bonus title” on this list.
Two MMORPGs will be released in 2023 and could hardly be more different
For those who do not want to wait until 2025 or even longer, you can already look forward to 2023. Two small highlights await you there.
Throne and Liberty will be an action MMORPG focusing on large boss fights and battles for fortresses. It has so far impressed primarily with the idea of a dynamic weather system, many movement options like flying, swimming, and a grappling hook, as well as large battles for fortresses.
The first gameplay looks graphically good. However, it is currently not completely clear how strong the influence of PvP will be. It might break the series of failures from Asia (Bless, Bless Unleashed, Elyon, etc.) simply because a large company like NCSoft is behind it, which wants to succeed in the west again.
You can choose from 5 classes, follow a captivating story, and complete dungeons and raids in the endgame. There is also a crafting system that is expected to be important for upgrading your equipment. Because there will not be classic armor drops.
Blue Protocol also forgoes PvP. There will be neither open-world combat nor arenas. However, anyone who still wants to compare themselves with others will have a leaderboard for the fastest dungeon runs.
However, with this MMORPG, it is unclear when and how the game will be released in the west. Currently, there’s only talk of “spring 2023” for Japan. However, new information about it is expected at the Game Awards on December 8th.

Blue Protocol – New Japanese Trailer
So much potential like never before in 13 years
Since 2014, it has somehow looked bleak for MMORPGs. There was a feeling that developers were avoiding the genre because the chance of failure was too high. There were also prominent examples, such as ESO, which had to be completely rebuilt, or Wildstar, which was shut down.
All that remained was hope for a good Asian game. However, only Black Desert could convince in the long term.
Although many of the titles listed here will still be in development for a few years, it sounds for the first time in years as if MMORPGs have a chance for a second spring.
Because all the titles mentioned here have potential, provided they are well implemented. Recently, I was as excited about the future in 2009 when Guild Wars 2, SWTOR, and ESO were developed simultaneously.
For some time, there has been a dispute between the Chinese firm Moonton and Riot Games/Tencent over copyright. Now Moonton accuses League of Legends of violating the copyright of their mobile game.
This is the dispute: Moonton and Riot have already been involved in several legal disputes over Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in the past.
Which games are involved exactly? Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a MOBA developed by the Chinese studio Moonton and was released in 2016 for mobile devices. In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, you play classic MOBA matches in 5 against 5. The focus is genre-typical on teamwork and strategy.
On the other hand, there is the worldwide success League of Legends by Riot Games, which includes League of Legends: Wild Rift. The latter is a shortened and mobile-optimized version of the popular PC counterpart and esports giant.

What is the latest legal dispute about? After Riot Games and Tencent previously accused Mobile Legends: Bang Bang of violating the copyright of their own IP, Moonton is now turning the tables.
As reported by the South China Morning Post, the Shanghai-based company claims Tencent is violating the rights of authorship, reproduction, and communication of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Riot Games, developer of League of Legends, has been a subsidiary of Tencent since 2015.
The recent development that Moonton is now accusing Tencent of copyright infringement arose, according to the South China Morning Post, from a timeline set by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court.
The timeline of the Shanghai court states that Tencent must defend itself against the allegations in court as of Tuesday, November 29.
The company behind TikTok enters the gaming market
What does the company behind TikTok have to do with this? The company behind the successful social media app TikTok is called ByteDance, a Chinese internet technology company. It has been known since 2020 that ByteDance wants to make MMOs.
In 2021, ByteDance then purchased Moonton, the studio that developed Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, for 4 billion US dollars.
A survival shooter called Earth Rival is already in development by Nuverse, a studio from ByteDance.
