An unofficial Pokémon card game with NFTs attracted playerswith pocket monsters. However, it recently turned out to be a trap set by hackers. Because when downloading, you don’t receive a game, but something completely different.
What kind of “game” is it? A Pokémon Card Game initially seemed to be an NFT game with the popular monsters. This is an unofficial game, not to be confused with the official card game “Pokémon TCG Online”.
However, on January 6, 2023, it was revealed: It is actually not a game at all, but a trap set by hackers on the internet to gain access to other people’s computers.
Here you can see a real game on Steam that is reminiscent of Pokémon:

Instead of Pikachu, there is malware
What is the game really? If you click on the button “Play on PC” on the website of the alleged Pokémon game, you download malware. Instead of a game, a tool called NetSupport RAT is hidden in the data.
This is remote control software that hackers can then use to view your private user data and manipulate the PC so that further cyber attacks can be carried out more easily.
What looked so real about the game? The fake game appeared largely fine at first glance:
There was a website for the game that looked quite real.
There was also a marketplace where you could supposedly request and sell Pokémon Card NFTs.
The downloaded data had a game icon and the file information was also said to have looked convincing.
A naive player might not have noticed that the game does not consist of any real game files and that there are also no NFTs for sale.
How was the trap recognized? On the website, a cybersecurity company called ASEC published an article on January 6, 2023, in which it exposed the false Pokémon game as a hacker trap.
On ASEC’s site, you can also see which pages of the fake game were identified as phishing pages and how the hackers’ malware works.
The Battle Royale Spellbreak (Steam, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) is now being shut down. Twitch streamer IXITimmyIXI gathered players to say goodbye to the game in one final round.
Spellbreak is a magical Battle Royale that resembles Fortnite in gameplay with spells. Players don’t shoot at each other but cast different types of magic. You can play on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or PC.
Spellbreak went online in September 2020, and now it is dead and being shut down – it didn’t even survive 3 years. In the summer of 2022, the developers Proletariat announced that the game would go offline in early 2023.
Why is it being shut down? Spellbreak “failed to achieve breakout success and reach a sustainable state,” wrote CEO Seth Sivak at the time on reddit. Additionally, it is known that Blizzard acquired the studio (via VentureBeat), which is another reason for the shutdown of Spellbreak.
Looking at the player numbers (via SteamDB), it becomes clear that Spellbreak has hardly been played on Steam since June 2021. It recorded an average of about 500 players, then 300, and finally only around 100. Of course, the other platforms are included, but the numbers there are probably not higher. The reviews on Steam remained very positive until the end.
A festive farewell to Spellbreak
However, even though the player numbers were low, the Battle Royale had loyal fans like streamer IXITimmyIXI. He gathered a few of his subscribers, friends, and Twitch colleagues to play one last round and say goodbye to Spellbreak.
They accompany Spellbreak until the end, pile up together and wave from a storm of spells. Then they are swallowed by the Spellstorm, one after the other.

Although the official servers of Spellbreak are now gone, the fanbase remains. IXITimmyIXI talks in his stream about starting a community server to keep the Battle Royale alive.
He calls for people to join the community’s Discord and asks for fans who may be able to help with development. This is all supposed to happen legally, according to the streamer.
Similar things have happened with other games that were shut down: players didn’t want to give up and started their own servers. For example, the Warhammer MMORPG recently received a major update, even though it has officially long been gone.
Are you sad that Spellbreak is being shut down? Did you play the Battle Royale, perhaps until the end? Or do you prefer Fortnite? Are there other battle royale games you like? Do you prefer shooters or original combat systems? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO!
Blizzard has nerfed even more dungeons in World of Warcraft. This time, however, these are passive changes – as the numbers have not been altered.
The endgame in World of Warcraft for many consists of “Mythic+”, which means the toughest dungeons. These become increasingly challenging at high levels and can push even coordinated groups to the brink of despair. In the past, Blizzard has made numerous nerfs and adjustments, but in recent days there have been further weakening without having to tweak the numbers. Instead, Blizzard has adjusted the visual effects.
What is Blizzard changing? In recent days, Blizzard has adjusted several “problematic” visual effects in the older WoW dungeons that are being gradually discovered by the community.
Hyrja in the Halls of Valor has received a new spell animation for “Holy” (Sanctify). Instead of shooting wavy projectiles, these are now golden orbs.
Advisor Melandrus in the Court of Stars has received new ground effects for “Piercing Gale”. The lines are now clearly distinguishable from the ground.
Why is Blizzard doing this? Some may argue that the effects looked the same back during “Legion” and players had to dodge them then as well. This is, of course, true to some extent, but the “Mythic+” system has evolved significantly since then. Not only are there tougher timers and greater challenges, but also many new affixes.
Especially “Thunderous” generates numerous visual effects. The sky darkens, lightning strikes everywhere, and all players are also affected with effects that flash above their characters. Especially in combination with other affixes, such as “Stormy”, it is hardly possible to keep track of all the effects.
This makes some boss mechanics deadlier. Especially with Hyrja, it was often difficult to see how large the “hitbox” of the golden projectiles actually is, as the effect of the projectile changes during its flight path. The new orb effect does not have this drawback – it is always clearly recognizable how large a projectile is and it stands out distinctly from other effects in the dungeon.
The changes fundamentally also align with a philosophy that Blizzard has been pursuing since Shadowlands. Effects, especially those from bosses, should be clear and distinguishable from the rest of the “effect storm”. Therefore, it is only logical that the developers make some improvements in older dungeons when these dungeons are reused in the current content (Mythic+).
What do you think of this kind of “nerfs”? Does it make the dungeons too easy? Or is more visual clarity not a real nerf and simply an improvement?
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
One month after the most well-known leaker stopped, the action RPG is once again struggling with numerous leaks.
Which leaker stopped? On December 13, 2022, the leak account UBatcha, known in the Genshin Impact community, announced that he was stopping posting leaks. He also deleted all content:
The reason for the decision was a warning he received via Discord.
Furthermore, he explained in a statement on Twitter that the developers of Genshin Impact (HoYoverse) have initiated a “DMCA subpoena” – a court order to obtain evidence for a lawsuit regarding copyright infringement.
The purpose of such an order is to compel a person or institution to disclose information that is relevant for further legal action. For example, Discord would have to provide data such as the name or email address of the leaker.

Genshin leaks flood Twitter and Reddit
What is the current situation? Just at the beginning of January, a major livestream of Genshin Impact took place with the content of the upcoming update 3.4. However, the Genshin community is not satisfied with the official information. And so, nearly a month after UBatcha’s resignation, numerous leaks reemerged.
In the subreddit “Genshin_Impact-Leaks”, various pieces of information are circulating. From character information and kit descriptions to images. Anyone who wants to get a first unofficial look at upcoming content will find it there.
We are embedding an exemplary post with leaked images here. Please note, however, that these are not official information. Also, you should not look at the post if you do not want to be spoiled.

The resignation of the leaker UBatcha apparently brought no improvement for Genshin Impact and HoYoverse’s fight against leaks continues. Whether anything will ever change in the situation remains to be seen.
In the relevant subreddit, there are over 350,000 members, and posts regularly receive several thousand upvotes: The demand for leaks regarding Genshin Impact seems to be enormous.

The streamer Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler (28) is not only active on Twitch nearly every day, he also enjoys organizing large events on platforms like YouTube and Joyn. In a stream, he defended himself against accusations of only being after money and explained how much he really earns with events like “The Big Kick”.
What kind of event was that? On December 29, “The Big Kick” took place, a football tournament with 6 teams consisting of German influencers:
The whole thing was organized by Trymacs
The event was broadcast on Joyn, a platform of the broadcasters ProSieben and Sat.1.
Although the event fell somewhat short of expectations compared to previous projects of the streamer, it attracted thousands of viewers to the Cologne Lanxess Arena and in front of screens.
Given the number of viewers, it seems reasonable for some fans to believe that Trymacs earns a fortune with these events. However, in a stream he explained what this fun costs him.
More lucrative for Trymacs than the events are likely the subs, which are paid subscriptions on Twitch.

Prime Gaming, the secret behind Twitch’s success
Viewers tease: “So, do you need money again?”
What kind of stream was that? In a stream, Trymacs talked about comments he receives from viewers. These often concern money:
No matter what you do, people say: “Oh, he needs money again.”
These comments refer to Trymacs streaming on the video app TikTok on the side or starting the next bigger project. However, according to the streamer, there is a big misunderstanding.
Trymacs says he earns little to nothing with events
How much does Trymacs earn now? The survival show “Nerd in the Dirt”, which started in December 2022 and achieves between 400,000 and 1.2 million views per episode on YouTube, brings him “nothing or nearly nothing”, Trymacs explains.
He is now “even”, meaning he could cover his costs with the revenue, but he did not expect that: He actually entered the project with the mindset of losing 30,000 to 40,000 €.
It is similar with other events like his game show Teammates. He has not earned from any of these events, says the streamer.
Even worse is the balance for his football event “The Big Kick”: In the end, Trymacs was probably even in the red:
For the football broadcasts, I paid a lot, six-digit amounts.
How can that be? Trymacs explains that such events generate a lot of revenue but also incur high costs. The Big Kick cost around 800,000 €, and then all the agencies involved also need their share.
Trymacs clarifies: If he does earn something with his events, it is still much less than he earns with his regular content. He disclosed how much that is at the end of the year in December 2022. However, some viewers expected more:
There is trouble in League of Legends. For years, LoL was the only game for Riot Games, now the studio has multiple irons in the fire with Valorant, the new LoL MMORPG, and mobile versions of LoL. Players accuse the developers of neglecting LoL and putting the PC version into maintenance mode. One of the key developers of LoL, Ryan “Reav3” Mireles, is not taking this lightly.
What’s making LoL players so angry right now? Well, on one hand, it’s LoL players, who don’t need a concrete reason to be angry at Riot. “Anger and frustration” are actually the normal state of a MOBA player, as seen with streamer Tyler1. But there are specific points of criticism:
Players accuse Riot: LoL has lost its status as a “flagship” game, is only in maintenance mode, while Riot pursues many new projects that didn’t even exist a few years ago. Suddenly, people view projects like Wild Rift suspiciously and believe that Riot is neglecting PC LoL.

Official apology fizzles out
What does Riot say? There was an official apology from Riot for why the 2023 video wasn’t great. They were trying something new and didn’t use the action-packed cinematics like before. They wanted to show the “world” now.
They should have communicated that better. That was poorly done.
Pretty typical “corporate” talk. This only made the criticism worse.
Riot has stopped making content for the game. They apparently don’t care anymore, it was said on Twitter.

Developer says: lost many good employees during Covid
What does an employee say? One of the important developers of LoL, Ryan “Reavge3” Mireles speaks frankly on Reddit. He responds to the criticism that “PC-LoL is in maintenance mode”:
I can understand why people come to this conclusion, but I can assure you it’s not the case. […] Like many companies, we lost a lot of talented people during Covid, employees took the opportunity to work from home to pursue a different path in life. It was tough for the whole industry, a hard blow, and it was no different at Riot. It is not because Riot significantly cut the budget or limited the prospects for LoL.
To put it more elegantly: Shit happens.
In LoL, a lot of time has recently been invested in things that won’t come to the game immediately. But Mireles says: He knows that his words won’t change the impression; action is needed.
He assures that the team continues to work hard on LoL.
What’s behind this: What Mireles refers to is the so-called “Great Resignation,” also known as “the Big Quit”: Covid was a deceleration for many people from their normal lives.
Everyday life changed due to the lockdown: Suddenly, one was no longer trapped in the stress of the office, but sat at home and had time to think about whether they were truly satisfied with life “before Covid” or if it was time for something new. The opportunity to do something completely different, to work more autonomously, to spend more time with friends and family.
Some, particularly high-performing employees, did not want to return to their old lives after the measures ended but instead wanted to embark on a new path. Apparently, in the course of this reflection, many developers from LoL also resigned and now need to be replaced.
For the video game industry, the transition to home office was a major challenge everywhere:
ARK: Survival Evolved announced a possible upgrade to “Unreal Engine 5” on Twitter with a meme. You can find out what this is all about on MeinMMO.
Developers hint at UE5 upgrade: On January 11, 2023, the official Twitter account of ARK: Survival Evolved shared a meme, a funny image suggesting an upgrade of the Dino adventure to Unreal Engine 5.
Currently, there are no further details, a UE5 trailer, or images of the upgrade. Apart from the meme, no additional information about the hinted upgrade is known.

What engine does ARK currently run on? ARK: Survival Evolved is a popular survival game on PC and consoles that allows you to tame and fight against dinosaurs in a futuristic setting across various maps.
ARK was first released in Early Access in June 2015. The full version has been available since 2017. Since then, Studio Wildcard has not released an update of the engine. The title has been running on a version of Unreal Engine 4.
Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) has been available since April 2022. The sequel to the survival hit, ARK 2, is said to be released on the latest version of the popular engine. Here you can see the announcement trailer:

“Please let it be true”
This is how the community reacts: In the comments under the post, some ARK fans express their excitement at the possibility of experiencing the survival title on UE5.
“Honestly, I didn’t see this coming. I’m looking forward to the upgrade (via Twitter).”
Also, the well-known ARK modder Nekatus, who created the maps Fjördur and Valguero, reacts enthusiastically to the post. Back in November 2022, he showed what ARK could look like in UE5. Regarding the meme, he says:
If it’s true… man, then I’m ready for many more maps! Please make this possible! I hope you are not just talking about SOTF [Note: ARK: Survival Of The Fittest] in UE5.
Although the post is a tweet from the official account, there is some uncertainty among ARK fans as it is only a meme and not an elaborate announcement.
Is this just a joke, or do the developers mean it seriously? How does the switch affect the release of ARK 2? Is the upgrade for the main game or just for the newly released battle royale mode “ARK: Survival Of The Fittest”?
Overall, there are several comments from ARK players who can’t yet envision a UE5 upgrade, as it involves significant work and time investment. Ultimately, it’s now a waiting game to see what really lies behind this meme.
Patience is also needed regarding ARK 2. There have been no new updates on the sequel to the survival hit for 7 months, and the last trailer was disappointing for fans.
In Pokémon GO you can look forward to a Community Day with eF-eM in February. When the event starts and what bonuses you can expect are summarized below by MeinMMO.
What event is it about? Every month, Niantic holds a so-called Community Day where a specific Pokémon is highlighted and can be found almost everywhere. The event is also enhanced by an increased shiny rate and special bonuses.
After Pokémon GO already announced in recent weeks when the upcoming C-Days will take place, the contents for the C-Day in February have now also been released. You can look forward to the flying and dragon Pokémon eF-eM.
All content and bonuses for the Community Day with eF-eM
When does the event run? The Community Day with eF-eM takes place on Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Since the small purple monster is usually not that common in the game, you should mark this date bold in your calendar.
Exclusive attack: For the Community Day in February, the evolution of the event Pokémon can again learn a special attack. If you evolve eF-eM during the event or up to 5 hours after, by 10:00 PM local time at the latest, UHaFnir will learn the attack Sonic Boom.
This causes 150 damage in trainer battles and 140 damage in gym battles and raids to your opponent.
eF-eM and UHaFnir normal (top) and as shiny (bottom)
Are there any further bonuses? Yes, during the Community Day you can also look forward to plenty of bonuses. You can expect the following content during the event:
Incense and lure modules last 3 hours (except daily adventure incense)
triple stardust for catching
double candy for catching
double chance for XL candy when catching (from level 31)
surprises when you take snapshots
C-Day stickers at the PokéStop and in gifts
From 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time, you can also expect:
one additional special trade (maximum 2 on that day)
50% less stardust cost when trading
Shop content: The in-game shop also has a few special offers in store for you:
Special research “Sonic Waves” about eF-eM for just under 1 Euro
Special raids: After the actual Community Day, another highlight is planned. As you already know from the last months, there will also be special level 4 raids in February following the event.
In these, you can battle eF-eM from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. However, this is only possible on-site using raid passes or premium battle passes. Unfortunately, participation from a distance is not possible.
In return, you will receive not only the defeated eF-eM from the raid as a reward, but you will also unlock additional eF-eM spawns in the vicinity of the gym for 30 minutes. The shiny rate will be the same as on the actual Community Day.

Stadia will soon be unavailable – Players should activate Cross Save now!
What changes with update 6.3.0.3 in season 19
Since there was no “This Week at Bungie” blog over the holidays, not much information on long-term planned changes is currently known. However, Bungie has made several advance announcements and may address some old issues and new bugs directly in the first update.
This advance announcement of a change has already been made by Bungie:
Armor mods will be immediately available to all players after today’s update. This means that no one has to wait until mods are finally available for purchase from NPC merchants in the rotation. Thanks to this change, everyone can use them immediately and directly for their builds – without restrictions.
At game startup, some players receive the error code “Centipede”. Only on the second start can they log into the game normally.
On the Europa and Mars maps for heist battlegrounds, enemies can suddenly appear when players enter certain areas.
On some PCs, using Alt-Tab to access the desktop while playing in fullscreen mode can cause the game to freeze and require a restart of the game.
The exotic dungeon bow “Hierarchy of Claims” does not penetrate Hydra or Phalanx shields correctly when combined with the Armor Mod “Piercing Bowstring”.
The charge flag sometimes does not work in the second encounter of the source activity.
Players on Xbox One consoles cannot join other players from the game Fireteams unless they are in the same bubble.
Player name changes cannot be customized via bungie.net. Players are still waiting for the option to adjust their usernames multiple times instead of just once.
If you notice any other issues in the game, the recommendation is to report them directly through the official Bungie Help Forum to alert the developers. Alternatively, you can leave us a comment if you know of other errors in the game.
To ensure you don’t get bored during downtime in Destiny 2:
Patch Notes for update 6.3.0.3 from 01/11 in Destiny 2
What is included in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the comprehensive list of all changes for hotfix 6.3.0.3 in the form of patch notes. Traditionally, this happens promptly after the servers come back online.
Are you happy that Bungie is now addressing issues in the game again? Or do downtimes annoy you? If you have noticed any other issues in the game that are not listed here, we would like to invite you to leave a comment here on MeinMMO to inform other players about it.

Season 13 of League of Legends has launched today with Patch 13.1. We show you which champions are currently best suited to successfully climb the rankings.
Patch 13.1 went live today, January 11, 2023, in League of Legends. This also marked the start of the new Ranked Season 13. The patch brought several balance changes for various champions and items.
To help you progress especially well at the start of the ranking climb, we have selected the best champions for each role. We base our choices on the champion tier list from mobalytics.gg.
We have limited ourselves to choosing the 2 best champions that are best suited for each role and are also easy to learn so you can achieve success faster.
LoL Season 2023: The Cinematic “The Brink of Infinity”
The best top laners in Season 13
Olaf
Camille
The best champions from the preseason, K’Sante, Aatrox, and Fiora, have all been weakened in the latest patch. This opens up space for champions that are not just pure tanks or anti-tanks. Both Olaf and Camille offer great potential to run away with the game with a slight advantage. Additionally, there is the nerf of Jak’Sho for non-tank champions.
The best junglers in Season 13
Maokai
Udyr
Both Maokai and Udyr are currently in a particularly good position. Fast jungle clears and effective ganks, coupled with natural “tankiness,” make them strong junglers for both veterans and newcomers.
Kassadin and Vex were already very strong picks for the mid lane in the preseason. The changes to the items “Rod of Ages” and “Seraph’s Embrace” come in handy for them. Both items provide them with even better scaling into the mid and late game and allow them to endure more. They also need that when fighting their opponents at close range.
The best bot laners in Season 13
Kai’Sa
Tristana
The nerf to Jak’Sho also benefits these two bot laners. With their mix of physical and magical damage, they regain an advantage they lost due to Jak’Sho. Both function very well with different supporters and have their own ways to reposition against enemies.
The best supporters in Season 13
Nami
Janna
Here we have two classic enchanter supports. The remaining roles are heavily dominated by champions in melee range. Nami and Janna have various ways to disrupt the opposing team through large area CC attacks or protect their damage dealers while allowing them to deal more damage.
An overview of the main changes in Patch 13.1 can be found here:
Have you ever had trouble defeating bosses in Genshin Impact? Then your world level might be too high and you should lower it. Here you will find an overview of which adventure rank corresponds to which level, how you can adjust the world level, and what you should consider.
What is a world level in Genshin Impact? The world level determines the difficulty of your world but also the quality of the rewards you can obtain.
How can you increase the world level? The world level depends on your adventure rank. This means: When you level up a certain rank in adventure, your world level will also increase.
This has three consequences for you:
You will find better treasures
You will receive better rewards
At the same time, the enemies will also get stronger

Genshin Impact: Version 3.4 “The Exquisite Night Chimes” Trailer
How many world levels are there in Genshin Impact
How many world levels are there? Once you reach adventure rank 20 in Genshin Impact, the world level increases by 1 level for every 5 adventure ranks.
At some levels, this happens automatically, and at others, you must complete a special quest, an “adventure rank ascent,” beforehand so that the adventure rank and thus the world level can be further increased.
Here’s an overview of how the adventure ranks are related to the world levels and when you need to complete an ascension mission to level up the world:
World level 0: Automatically at the beginning of the game
World level 1: Adventure rank 20
World level 2: Adventure rank 25 with ascent quest
World level 3: Adventure rank 30
World level 4: Adventure rank 35 with ascent quest
World level 5: Adventure rank 40
World level 6: Adventure rank 45 with ascent quest
World level 7: Adventure rank 50 with ascent quest
World level 8: Adventure rank 55
How to adjust the world level
How can you adjust the world level? From adventure rank 40 and thus world level 5, you can decrease the world level by 1 or restore the corresponding world level.
To do this, go to the menu in your player profile and click the “i” next to the world level display. You can find this directly under your adventure rank. Then the option to adjust the world level opens up:
This is what it looks like when you change your world level
What should you consider? If you change the world level, you cannot change it again for 24 hours. You can then see how long you cannot change the setting using a timer.
It doesn’t matter whether you lower the world level or want to reset it to the original: each time you must wait 24 hours afterwards.
The world level also becomes important when you want to join another player’s world in multiplayer mode. For some players, you will see the note on the right: “Joining from world level XY” and you cannot send a request.
This is because you can always switch from a higher world level to the same or a lower one. However, if the other player has a more advanced world level than you, you cannot join.
How can you use the world level setting for yourself? The world level setting is especially useful when you notice that the enemies are currently too strong for your group and you are having trouble fighting.
You can also lower the world level if you have received one or more new characters that you still need to level up properly but want to play with right away.
Conversely, a higher world level is especially suitable when you already have a correspondingly strong team or want to farm the best items. In that case, you should play at the highest possible world level you can set with your adventure rank.
Ultimately, having the ability to set the world level gives you greater flexibility when you want to play with other players who may be a level below you but still want to visit you in your world.
A YouTuber wanted to demonstrate his skills on the controller and sparked a debate about aim assist and cheating in Call of Duty: MW2. After his video went viral, some professionals are now accusing him of being a cheater.
What happened? The YouTuber “Dynamic” released a small clip with highlights of his gameplay on Twitter. There he showcases impressive skills: on various multiplayer maps in CoD: MW2, he demonstrates incredibly precise flicks and extremely fast reflexes. He collects kill after kill.
His aim is almost superhuman. His crosshair jumps from one opponent to the next, and it seems like Dynamic has no recoil to deal with at all. He explains that he foregoes aim assist in his gameplay, but plays with extremely sensitive settings.
What’s controversial about it? Shortly after his gameplay video was released, parts of the community accused him of cheating. For other players, especially those who also play with a controller, he is a hero. They are glad that finally someone could show that controller players can keep up with mouse and keyboard.
The debate over controllers, aim assist, and mouse and keyboard is an old hat. Aim assist in CoD is a feature that helps controller players. Since aiming precisely with the controller is not as easy as with a mouse, the game helps a bit. The position of your crosshair is automatically corrected slightly when you use a controller for playing. CoD MW2: One of the best controller players talks about aim assist – How strong is the targeting assistance really
The question of which input device is better still leads to heated discussions in the CoD community.
In CoD: MW2, there are new challenges for coop players with the raids. More information can be found here in the gameplay trailer:

The cheating debate in CoD keeps flaring up
Why is the clip so controversial? After Dynamic released videos of his controller gameplay, they were picked up by Jake Lucky. The e-sport journalist shared the video on his Twitter channel.
Then the former CoD professional “Prestini” spoke up and said that the clips could not possibly be legitimate gameplay. The two-time CoD world champion “Arcitys” agreed and joked that he does not want players like Dynamic in his lobbies.

The YouTuber Dynamic likely anticipated that his clip could also provoke negative reactions. On his YouTube channel, there are also videos showing how he operates his controller while playing multiplayer in Call of Duty.
But even here, reactions are mixed. While his fans celebrate him and call him the “Greatest of all Time,” other viewers question the authenticity of the footage. The footage showing how Dynamic operates his controller is said not to match the gameplay.
What do you think of the gameplay that Dynamic showcases here? Is it legitimate? Or is it clear to you that the YouTuber cheated? Are cheating discussions like this even meaningful, or are they just annoying? Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion.
There are problems on YouTube: Some content creators focused on gaming topics are complaining that YouTube is demonetizing their old videos and thus cutting off their revenue. The rules regarding profanity and the depiction of violence in video games have apparently been tightened. In an attempt to solve and address the problem, a major YouTuber, RTGamer, has now been hit even harder.
What is the problem?
Since November 2022, new rules regarding profanity have been in place on YouTube: The rules have become significantly stricter.
It was previously allowed to use “mild swear words” (“ass” or “bitch”) in the first 30 seconds of a video – now it is strictly prohibited. Anyone who uses profanity too often during a video can lose revenue from that video.
The rules also apply retroactively to old videos, causing some YouTubers to lose the steady income that has supported them for years.
YouTuber complains that a video has been rated “18+”
This is what an affected YouTuber says: YouTuber Daniel Condren runs the channel “RTGames” with 2.8 million subscribers.
His video “Best of RTGames 2022” was marked by YouTube as “18+”:
The video was a multi-hour recap of his highlights of the game year 2022.
The “18+” rating ruins his reach for the video, as it is now only shown to a select few.
However, when he tried to file complaints with YouTube about the classification, he received a rejection after 10 minutes.
YouTube investigates other videos, now also marking them as “18+”
This is how YouTube reacted to his complaint: In a 20-minute video, Condren explained that he tried to solve the problem with YouTube, but that apparently went massively wrong (via youtube):
My entire channel is now subject to age restrictions and is demonetized because I contacted YouTube support and raised the issue. Now I have to think about leaving YouTube altogether.
The YouTuber says that when he asked YouTube for help, more of his videos were investigated, marked with age restrictions, and thus demonetized. There was initially no contact with him, only this significant limitation of his income.
When he finally got through and was able to talk to employees, he was told why the individual videos were demonetized:
For example, because a “violent scene” was visible after 110 minutes, such as from the video game “Quarry”.
Or because profanity was used in the first 30 seconds of a video.
No more videos about Elden Ring or GTA 5 on YouTube?
Condren concludes: If YouTube takes child protection so seriously and applies the same vague standards as it did to him, then “games that are not suitable for children” will no longer be a topic for YouTube: thus games like GTA 5, Elden Ring, or Skyrim.
This has serious consequences: Because the revenue of many gaming YouTubers would completely collapse because of this.

YouTuber believes he asked for help and was punished for it
What bothers him most? Condren finds it particularly annoying that he now has all these inconveniences with so many demonetized videos, just because he inquired about help regarding a single video.
He has already had the worst “customer support” experience of his life and now he was also thoroughly explained why he was rightly punished.
Especially the retroactive demonetization of content that was okay under the old rules, but not anymore under the new ones, is a big problem for him. Because what happens when the rules change again?
A similar problem with “retroactive rule changes” also once had Twitch:
During a game, League of Legends various dragons appear on the map. We explain what they do individually and what they are good for.
What are the dragons, anyway? The dragons in League of Legends are neutral monsters that appear in their own dragon camp on the lower half of the map. They are passive until a player attacks them and then attack the player who is closest within their range.
For defeating the dragons, the respective team receives various unique passive buffs, such as more damage to opponents or additional movement speed.
Basics about the dragons
When do the dragons appear? There are a total of seven different types of dragons in the game. During a game, up to three different ones can appear. The first dragon is chosen randomly by the game and appears 5 minutes after the game starts. After a dragon is defeated, the next one appears – always again after 5 minutes. The second and third dragons are also chosen randomly, but among the first three dragons, there can be no two identical dragon types.
Which dragon appears next is visible on the scoreboard. The symbol on the minimap also shows which type of dragon is currently present.
The dragons appear in the area highlighted in red
With the death of the second dragon, the map changes. These changes depend on which dragon type appears third. All following dragons are of the same type, and the granted buffs accumulate. The first team to defeat four dragons wins the so-called soul of the respective last dragon type.
The dragon soul grants the entire team additional unique buffs.
The dragon types
How many dragons are there? There are a total of seven different dragon types in the game:
Each defeated Hell Dragon grants the team 6% additional attack damage and ability power. The Hell Dragon soul causes an explosion on the enemy with every attack or ability, dealing additional damage.
What buffs does the Ocean Dragon provide?
For each defeated Ocean Dragon, you gain an additional 3% health regeneration of your maximum health. With the Ocean Dragon soul, you regain health and mana whenever you deal damage to an opponent.
What buffs does the Cloud Dragon provide?
By defeating a Cloud Dragon, you gain a 7% resistance to slow effects every time and move faster when you are not in a fight. With the Cloud Dragon soul, you move permanently faster, even in combat. You gain additional bonus speed after using your ultimate ability.
What buffs does the Mountain Dragon provide?
When you defeat a Mountain Dragon, your team gains 9% additional armor and magic resistance every time. With the Mountain Dragon soul, you gain a shield that protects a small portion of your health when you take damage the next time.
What buffs does the Hextech Dragon provide?
Defeating a Hextech Dragon grants you 9% ability haste and attack speed. When you deal damage to an opponent while having the Hextech Dragon soul, they are hit by a chain lightning that deals damage to them and up to three other opponents, slowing their movement speed.
What buffs does the Chemtech Dragon provide?
For defeating the Chemtech Dragon, you receive 5% tenacity and additional healing and shielding power every time. The Chemtech Dragon soul causes you to deal 10% more damage and take 10% less damage while your health is below 50%.
What buffs does the Elder Dragon provide?
The Elder Dragon only appears after a team has won the soul of a dragon. When a team defeats the Elder Dragon, it receives a temporary buff. This buff has two effects: firstly, you inflict a burn effect on opponents that deals damage over a short time when you deal damage to an opponent (in English, DoT – Damage over Time). Secondly, opponents are instantly defeated when you attack them if their health points are below 20%.
The Elder Dragon appears differently than the other dragons, only after 6 minutes have passed since the last dragon was defeated.
Once the second dragon of the match has been defeated, the map changes slightly. These changes depend on which dragon type appears third.
Hell Dragon
The walls at the blue and red buff camps are torn down and the bushes around are burned, as well as the wall of the dragon camp. Additionally, a total of 10 more jumping plants appear on the map.
Ocean Dragon
In the jungle, the bushes thicken and take up a larger area. More bushes grow near the dragon camp and 4 more honey fruits appear on the map.
Cloud Dragon
In the areas around the blue and red buff camps and the dragon camp, wind areas appear. In these areas, all players move faster. Additionally, a total of 6 more vision flowers appear on the map.
Mountain Dragon
In contrast to the Hell Dragon, additional terrain appears at the jungle entrances to the river and in the dragon camp.
Hextech Dragon
Hexgates appear at the exits of the team bases leading into the jungle, as well as near the dragon and Baron camps. The former bring you quickly deep into the adjoining jungle, while the latter transport you across the river into the opposite jungle. In the pictures, you can see what these Hexgates look like, where they are located, and where they take you.
Chemtech Dragon
All neutral plants become enhanced with additional effects. 8 more honey fruits and 14 more vision flowers also appear on the map. The jump plants now catapult you twice as far. Honey fruits grant a small shield in addition to healing and no longer slow you. The vision flowers reveal a larger area and set the health of all revealed wards to 1.
The Chemtech Dragon has just returned in preseason 13 after being fundamentally revised during season 12.
The community of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is talking about the current state of the game. There is a lot of criticism, and it is even said that the title is already dead.
What is this discussion about? The content creator TrueGameData focuses on statistics for games in the CoD series. On Twitter, he has now opened a discussion about the state of Warzone 2, stating: “Imagine how bad it is for the Warzone streamer community if there are no Nukes.”
With this, the content creator points out that many streamers are currently filling their broadcasts by trying to achieve the killstreak “Nuke”. Unlocking a Nuke presents a special challenge.

CoD Warzone 2 – 3 Tips on how to quickly level up your weapons
Players criticize: “Warzone 2 is boring”
What do players say about the state of the game? During the discussions that arose from the post, some players made a harsh judgment about the state of the shooter. For example, Twitter user StarHunter96 writes: “It is already dead (via Twitter).”
The discussion also made its way to reddit, where coone90 writes: “Warzone 2 is boring.” He then asks what changes the reddit community would like for the game. The post collected 850 upvotes and over 1,000 comments within 19 hours (as of January 11, 1:00 PM).
Reddit user Destroyer6206 also draws a negative conclusion: “The only reason the game is not dead is that it is new […]. The game is not alive because it is good, but because people are damned out of options (via reddit).”
What does the MeinMMO community say? We already wanted to know in a survey mid-November how you all feel about Warzone 2 and how you like it. Altogether, the survey received 2,109 responses, with the results being quite balanced. The most selected answer was “Bad,” closely followed by “Very Good.”
Bad: 21.48 %, 453 votes
Very good: 20.96 %, 442 votes
Average: 20.25 %, 427 votes
Good: 17.88 %, 377 votes
Poor: 14.46 %, 305 votes
Perfect: 4.98 %, 105 votes
The comments below the survey also showed that there are both fans and critics of Warzone 2. Masked Ruin writes, for example, that he does not like that cosmetic content from Warzone 1 was not carried over.
I don’t see why I should play the second part after having paid for cosmetics in Warzone and those not being carried over. They are just cosmetics and nothing else. Very poorly handled, in my opinion.
MeinMMO reader Daniel, on the other hand, loves Battle Royales and finds it awesome that the shield system in Warzone 2 is similar to that of Apex Legends.
So I love BR [Battle Royal]. Before Warzone 1, it was Apex. […] I think it’s awesome that they borrowed the shield system from Apex a little. For example, I can now immediately see if the opponent has a level 3 vest.
However, a lot of time has passed since the last survey, and so we want to know again what you currently think of Warzone 2. Are you still playing it, or is the shooter too boring for you? Would you like to see changes?
Players wish for higher time-to-kill and 1v1s in the Gulag
What changes do players want? On reddit, some Warzone players respond to the question of what changes they would suggest.
The reddit user jdebby finds the map okay and doesn’t mind that slide-canceling was removed from the predecessor. Still, he thinks Warzone 2 should do everything else like Warzone 1. As an example, he mentions a higher time-to-kill, 1v1 fights in the Gulag, and the old ping system (via reddit). His comment received 1,900 upvotes.
Another player wishes for a ranked mode, a weaker aim-assist, and a re-join feature in case the game crashes – Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have been known to struggle with technical issues since release, and the developers have had to fix over 120 bugs.
How dead is Warzone 2 on Steam and Twitch?
The player numbers of Warzone 2? As the comments on Twitter and reddit show, some players of Warzone 2 perceive the game as “dead.” But what are the player and viewer numbers like? To answer that, we look at the analysis platform SteamCharts, which tells us the player numbers of games on Steam.
There, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 combined reached a peak of 123,912 players in the past 24 hours. CoD rival Battlefield 2042 is at 8,701 during the same period.
While we cannot say how many players Warzone 2 has and how many Modern Warfare 2 has based on the numbers since both games are presented together, we do get a rough overview of the current state of the game.
The viewer numbers of Warzone 2: Another insight into the state of Warzone 2 is provided by Twitch. There, the shooter is still among the top 10 most-watched games in the past 7 days and had an average of 63,863 viewers during that period. Therefore, Warzone 2 continues to lie ahead of titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.
A crucial role in the future of Warzone 2 could especially be played by the EFT-like mode “DMZ.” It attracts players like MeinMMO author Dariusz Müller, who do not find enjoyment in battle royale shooters.
In Pokémon GO there is the possibility to earn rewards through scans. However, in some locations, players find this problematic.
These are scan tasks: These tasks are a special form of field research, which has been available since autumn 2020. They are called “AR mapping” research and ask you to scan a specific PokéStop near you.
For this purpose, one has to circle the “real” PokéStop and film it with their mobile phone camera. The corresponding video is then to be submitted.
What’s the point? According to the explanation in the game, trainers are supposed to help with “creating 3D maps of their preferred PokéStops and gyms”. The AR features of Pokémon GO are to be “further developed and refined” with the material.
However, discussions about the feature keep arising. Currently, in the Pokémon GO subreddit, players are discussing places they would prefer not to scan – yet are still being suggested.
Players do not want to scan playgrounds or hospitals
What is the problem? In a post labeled “complaint” in the Pokémon GO subreddit, a player explains: “Dear Pokémon GO, I (35m) would appreciate it if you stop asking me to scan playgrounds.” As of now, the post has over 3,900 upvotes and over 300 comments.
The user “National_Edges” explains in the post: “It just doesn’t look good to walk around and film when children are playing on a playground” (via reddit).

He has received suggestions to simply film the ground, but does not see this as a solution: “But it is problematic when asked to film a playground where minors are supposed to play. That is the real issue.” Especially as an individual, male person, this is difficult.
This is what players say: Many comments agree with the user but also mention other locations that they find difficult to scan.
“Also banks. It keeps prompting me to scan a bank. That doesn’t look suspicious at all,” comments user “Ravenclaw79.”
“I often get asked about a hospital… no.” (via reddit).
“I delete the ones with playgrounds. Even as a woman with my son present, it feels overly creepy.” (via reddit).
Additionally, users write that they have experienced that conflicts can arise when people think they are being filmed (via reddit).
As recently as winter 2021, there was a situation where a player reported scanning PokéStops in a park. However, this appeared suspicious to other park visitors, who reported the incident to the police, who promptly arrived.
Is there a solution? Some trainers suggest “workarounds” like filming the ground or covering the camera with a finger. However, the problem here is that players do not want to be suggested such quests at all.
Basically, however, it is possible to simply delete new scan quests that one does not like and pick up a new one. For example, it is conceivable to delete a playground task and instead get a less problematic location.
Alternatively, one can also completely refrain from scanning PokéStops – there is no compulsion to do so in the game.
What do you think of the feature? Do you find the scans problematic, have you experienced similar situations? Tell us in the comments!
The German Twitch streamer ohnePixel is known for his streams of the shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Last night, on November 10th, he made history on Steam: he ensured that the highest Steam account in the world, a player from Qatar, rose to 5001 after holding the prestigious level 5000 for years. Some speak of justice, while others warn of the terrible consequences.
What’s the deal with the highest level on Steam?
The “Account Level” on Steam is actually a bit of fun: it indicates how much time and money you have invested in your Steam account. You can check in your profile how far up you have risen in Steam level: Here is a list of the top accounts on Steam, sorted by level (via steam).
A Steam account that went completely overboard is “St4ck”: he allegedly spent over $240,000 in 2021 to own the first Steam account with level 5000 (via win.gg). It was apparently his goal to reach this round level and gain notoriety. St4ck is from Qatar and held the highest Steam account in the world for years.
As Jake Lucky noted on Twitter , the Steam level 5000 is indeed controversial: St4ck, a fanatical CS:GO collector, allegedly employed some “difficult tactics” to achieve the highest Steam account in the world.
What’s the reaction? On Twitter fans applaud the streamer for the stunt, but also warn ohnePixel: One must know that St4ck operates a cartel and only raised the Steam account to 5000 as a hobby. The streamer should better sleep with one eye open now.
A Twitter user recommends he joins the witness protection program.
Dawn Apart is an upcoming factory simulator on Steam, where you establish a colony on an alien planet. You can decide whether you work for a corporation or prefer to help the locals and ultimately blow up your factory.
What kind of game is Dawn Apart? The game is a space colony and factory simulator in which you settle on the alien planet Aurora and diligently cultivate the environment. The game features pixel graphics and is reminiscent of the well-known factory-building game Factorio.
In Dawn Apart, you are faced with a moral decision that influences what the focus of the gameplay looks like for you:
Do you want to cater to your sponsors and thereby ruin the planet’s environment, or do you fight with the locals for the nature of Aurora?

Exploit the planet or destroy your factory
What does the gameplay in Dawn Apart look like? It’s all about automating processes, because: The company that finances the expedition wants to see positive results from you quickly.
You are responsible for extracting resources and trying to acquire increasing quantities of goods ever faster. You can expand your factory upward or outward, building structures that reach for the sky, or creating endlessly long conveyor belt mazes.
Here you see some impressions from the game
Additionally, you organize the various employees of the colony. These include mercenaries, engineers, or civilians who have traveled with you to the alien planet. Ensure that there is enough food, shelter, and medicine for everyone so that new settlers can join you and the colony continues to grow.
However, environmental destruction also meets with resistance. The locals of Aurora do not passively watch as you destroy their planet. As a player, you can decide how you want to handle the resistance.

Riot has released a new cinematic for League of Legends. “The Brink of Infinity” is set to usher in the first season of 2023. However, not much happens in the roughly 2 minutes of the video – a disappointment for fans who are used to more. Riot responds in less than 24 hours and apologizes. The mood is rather bad, even among the developers.
The cinematic lasts 2:06 minutes and features a camera pan through the Summoner’s Rift, accompanied by a narrative voice.
With the video, Riot aims to launch the new Season 13, which starts on January 11. You can find all the info about Season 13 in League of Legends on MeinMMO here.

LoL Season 2023: The Cinematic “The Brink of Infinity”
What is the problem with the cinematic? Riot has been praised for its breathtaking cinematics and videos for years. This started around 2018, when LoL made a K-Pop band out of 4 heroines.
Since then, more and more effort has been put into the elaborate cinematics. Riot is considered by many fans to be the new Blizzard when it comes to video quality and sometimes even game quality. However, “The Brink of Infinity” lacks the love for detail.
The last cinematics showed heroes in action with fight choreographies, details, and interactions. The latest video lacks all that. Apart from a few weapons from heroes and some cut sounds from the LoL Worlds, there is not much to see. The video is just a camera pan through the map on which the game is played.
“I can’t even start to explain how disappointing it is this year”
Here’s how the fans react: The video has garnered just over 25,000 likes on YouTube within 24 hours. Dislikes can no longer be officially seen, but according to a browser extension, over 150,000 fans have pressed the thumbs down.
In the comments, memes are appearing that equate the video with the movie Morbius from 2022, which generally did not fare well. The fans are adding scenes and praising something that hasn’t happened, apparently in a parodistic manner.
A spectacular video about League of Legends has now 138 million views – Shows how huge LoL is
The gap between The Call and Brink of Infinity disappoints the fans here. It is said, for example: “The fact that the company itself watched the video and thought: ‘Wow, this is it’ after the 2022 cinematic is madness.” With over 24,000 upvotes, the most popular comment on YouTube states:
After the 2022 cinematic, I can’t even start to explain how DISAPPOINTING this year’s one is.
Here’s how the developers react: Some of the employees from Riot are speaking out on Twitter themselves. Or rather, they seem to be retreating or explaining why they are not enjoying working as game developers right now.
Joe White, for example, one of the developers, writes on Twitter: “No one prepares you for the mental resilience you need to work in video games. Things beyond your control weigh heavily on you and make you feel like crap.”
The VFX artist Sirhaian, who is responsible for the graphical overhaul of many elements in LoL, even reacts with an image captioned: “I’m so tired of this life”:

Meanwhile, Riot has released its own statement, just a few hours after the release of the cinematic (via Twitter). We have translated the tweets for you:
A message from Riot about Season 2023:
We brought a cinematic as part of the season start every year since 2018 and rest assured: everyone at League knows how much you love them. So do we!
This year there were a few unprecedented circumstances that forced us to take an alternate route for the Season 2023 video. Nevertheless, we believed we could embody the broad universe and the competitive spirit of League while celebrating the start of the new season.
But we heard your feedback and we want to acknowledge that Brink of Infinity missed the mark of an action-packed, champion-led trailer that you expected and led to further speculation about our investment in League.
To be honest, we should have been more communicative, which would have alleviated some of these feelings and speculations. We believe that League has a bright future and we are investing in it, but we can do a better job sharing these plans with you.
We are determined to give you more details in the coming days about what this investment looks like. We appreciate your passion and your feedback; the success of League would not be possible without your commitment. Thank you.
This statement, however, triggers even more frustration in the community. Users on Reddit are convinced that such a quick reaction can only mean that something is really wrong.
Speculation arises that the developers themselves would have liked to do something better, but the decision is not theirs to make, but rather “higher up”. Users take the reaction of the developers as evidence for their assumptions.
Other users doubt that there is actually something behind Riot’s statement and suspect empty words. Most fans seem to be frustrated and want to voice their feelings.
MeinMMO asked Riot for a statement regarding the development of the cinematic and the reactions of the community. A response is still pending.
We also do not yet know what the future of LoL will look like. At least, there is already some info about the next champion:
Fortnite was able to impress with cool new content at the launch of Chapter 4. However, many players have been struggling with their nerves for weeks. Bugs, disabled weapons, and server crashes are now the order of the day, and Epic Games just can’t keep up with the fixes.
Servers keep crashing, and there are frequent login issues
Many bugs that make playing almost impossible
Additionally, Epic Games was on a break over Christmas. Thus, the problems could continue to fester during the holidays, leaving players with nothing but frayed nerves.
Now that Epic Games is back, the team has immediately focused on eliminating the bugs. An update was supposed to straighten out some issues in the game but has only left more problems behind.

Players are not only being thrown back meters when trying to overcome an obstacle, but it is also almost impossible to pull themselves up slopes. When trying, they are either thrown away or thrown back down to the ground.
So far, the feature is still in the game, but it is clear that something is wrong and that it is most likely a bug. It remains to be seen when Epic Games will address these issues. The servers also had a hiccup on the evening of the patch (via twitter.com), which lasted for over two hours. But these are not the only bugs and problems.
What else is broken? Among the broken things in Fortnite are not only the bad server connections and constant crashes but also the removed weapon “Deku Smash.” This was quietly disabled by Epic Games and is no longer present in the game.
The Battle Pass also has an annoying bug. Items purchased with Battle Pass stars can be repurchased but waste the number of stars invested for the purchase.
Fortnite in its current state resembles a battlefield. When Epic takes the necessary steps to eliminate the bugs is also completely open.
When could a fix be on the way? Epic Games is still silent about when an exact fix might be on the way. However, leakers have found out that the next major update is coming on January 17 (via twitter.com). So it is very likely that the developers will be addressing some bugs with this update.
What do you think about the current state of Fortnite? Are you also suffering from massive bugs? Feel free to leave us a comment!
