Destiny 2: Lightfall had a bad start. Also because of the newly introduced subclass, which just felt bad in its standard version. But just 1 single fragment makes everything better. We tell you which one and why.
Why is the new subclass Strand so unpopular? Already during the campaign, the ability didn’t feel strong enough. In many missions where you should use “Strand”, it was nothing but a massive handicap.
The second killer was the long cooldowns of the new Lightfall ability “Strand”. You had top-notch mobility, which is really good, but the long cooldowns killed that momentum.
At least Bungie responded just 4 days after launch with initial changes, immediately releasing all fragments of “Strand”.
The removal of the time gate was therefore a good idea. Because just 1 single of the new Strand fragments now makes everything significantly better and could have played a big role in Bungie’s decision. We show you and explain how it works best.

Destiny 2: Trailer for Lightfall shows new race – Guardians get cool lasso, swing like Spider-Man
“Thread of Generation” almost saves the entire subclass
What makes it better now? Players and content creators immediately set out to test the new fragments that Bungie unlocked and quickly found results.
The Strand fragment “Thread of Generation” generates your grenade energy when you deal damage.
If you use this fragment in a Strand build, any damage – including weapon damage, ability damage, and damage over time – generates your grenade energy.
The fragment “Thread of Generation” improves many aspects – even at the cost of your discipline
The fragment works excellently even with regular weapons. Even better results can be achieved with options that deal damage over time, such as the exotic submachine gun “Osteo-Striga”, the exo-bow “Le Monarque”, or the Warlock gloves “Necrotic Grip”. This way, the regenerated ability energy adds up quite solidly and the grapple cooldown is noticeably shortened with each tick.
Good to know: “Thread of Generation” also works with all grenades. You can use it for both the Threading Grenade and the Snare Grenade – not just for the Grapple.
Additionally, mods like “Grenade Kickstart” can also be used, as the “Thread of Generation” fragment of Strand means -10 discipline reduction for your build.
So if you haven’t unlocked the fragment yet, you should prioritize it at least now. Since you can only purchase the fragments with a specific resource, we have shown you a few effective ways to farm “Strand Meditations” quickly.
If you’re more interested in Lightfallyou might also find this appealing:
How is your relationship with Strand? Is it hanging by a thin thread or have you already experimented with the prematurely unlocked fragments? Feel free to let us know in the comments.

For fans of anime and Asian MMORPGs, Blue Protocol is the big hope in 2023. The online action RPG is set to be released in the second half of the year as a free download for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Fans expect strong action gameplay and cool graphics. However, the anticipation seems to be overshadowed now.
The game is supposed to release in “spring 2023” in Japan; we are expecting a release in the second half of 2023. Bandai Namco is developing – Amazon is publishing in the West. Meanwhile, it seems that the shipping giant is slated to publish all major MMORPGs through its gaming branch

Data Mining Image Confirms Players’ Suspicions of Censorship
This unsettles players now: A user has posted screenshots on reddit showing a difference in female NPC models between the US version and the Japanese version:
In the Japanese version, the model wears a short skirt and a matching crop top
In the US version, the skirt is replaced by significantly longer shorts, and the woman’s midriff is covered
Also, in a second model, there is a clear difference between the original and the global version, which we will play in the West

It seems that we in the West are not getting the version of Blue Protocol that was intended for Japan, but rather a “modified, censored version”.
It also seems that this is not only the case in “data mining”, but reddit users have discovered models of the NPCs in the US trailers that differ from the models in the Japanese trailers.
In trailers, a difference in NPCs was already seen (via imgur):
In the Japanese version, the model is portrayed as midriff-baring.In the US version, the midriff is covered.
This is the reaction: Some people on reddit are upset about this change:
“This confirms exactly what we suspected: There are different models for the original version and the censored global version of the game: And this confirms that they are not just unused data mining models, but this is exactly what Amazon will give us.”
“Honestly, this is a bit depressing for me. I hate censorship and I know that if they censor something so trivial, it will get much worse. The best thing Amazon could do would be to give us an option to choose between outfits, but I know they won’t do that.”
Does Amazon Only Censor “Childlike” Models?
How can this also be seen? The model that is censored there is known as the “Desert NPC.” The character appears childlike.
One might speculate now that Amazon is only altering models that appear very young to counter “pedophilia” accusations.
Some on reddit believe: Amazon would intentionally avoid showing these childlike characters present in the Japanese trailers (via imgur) in the West because Amazon knows it would trigger a censorship discussion.
Such childlike “loli” characters and their representation in Asian games are a sensitive topic in the West because views on this differ greatly from East to West.
In the discussion on reddit, players refer to the character merely as “S-Size-Character,” the fact that it could be a child depicted as midriff-baring does not matter in the discussion.
On reddit, a large part of the players reject Amazon’s general interference. They should leave the game as it was intended by the developers.
The exact same discussion had occurred prior to the release of Lost Ark. Also an MMORPG that originates from Asia and was distributed in Europe by Amazon:
The MMORPG Runescape (Steam) is known for its hardcore community. But what a player recently posted on reddit even forced the toughest fans to show respect: The YouTuber Devious has spent 19,100 hours torturing himself through all four “Ironman” modes of the MMORPG. However, there were also some biting questions about what the man was doing with his life instead.
What you need to know to understand what he accomplished:
Oldschool Runescape is a version of the MMORPG Runescape (2001), based on how the MMORPG was in 2007. This version is also being developed further, similar to WoW Classic.
In October 2014, the game received various “Ironman modes.” These modes can be activated when leaving the tutorial island and when one feels like truly torturing oneself.
Each of these modes makes Runescape harder, as it excludes certain features that would otherwise allow you to acquire items and make the game easier:
In “Standard Iron Man,” you cannot trade, receive loot from player kills, disassemble dropped items, and certain multiplayer modes are locked.
In “Hardcore Iron Man,” players additionally only have one life. If you die, you revert to Standard Iron Man. Many people know (and hate) this hardcore mechanic from Diablo.
In “Ultimate Iron Man,” you cannot even use the bank and face even more restrictions.
Additionally, there is also “Hardcore Group Iron Man” – here you are allowed to play with a group of close friends.

Old School RuneScape – Trailer for the Steam Release
Player sets himself an extremely hard task – then sits at it for 19,217 hours
What did the man do? The Reddit user and YouTuber Devious (104,000 subscribers) has maxed out 4 Ironman characters in the 4 described variants.
“Maximum” means in Oldschool Runescape: He leveled all skills of the characters to 99: this is therefore harder and more demanding than simply reaching the maximum level in another game.
To complete all 4 modes and maximize the characters, he needed 19,217 hours. He says he did this in eight and a half years:
The man played more than 6 hours of Runescape daily for 8.5 years – including Sundays and holidays.
That he managed to maximize characters in all 4 Iron-Man modes is generally regarded as an incredible achievement. As something that requires an immense amount of effort and dedication, and that even the creators did not foresee.
The post received over 10,000 upvotes on reddit and more than 1,000 comments:

This is what the player says: In an interview with GamesRadar, Devious says:
I played casually when I was a child. I never maxed an account in R3, but I have many 99s. When Oldschool Runescape came out, I grinded quite hard. I was one of the first 10 people to reach 99 in Smithing after the game’s release and was in the top 200 of Slayers.
But things really took off for him only when Iron Man was added to Oldschool Runescape.
He had set himself the goal of being the first to max out all 3 solo variants but lost the race narrowly.
When the “Group variant” was released, he wanted to give it another shot and went for it.
What did he spend the most time on? Devious actually needed the longest time for the “easiest” mode, Standard Iron Man.
He says this is because everything was new at the time, and Runescape was much harder than it is today:
To get 99 Runecrafting, you had to kill 10,000 Zulrah bosses to get 1 million Pure Essence, and then you used the essence to forge Lava runes to 99. That alone was completely insane compared to how it is today; now you can just do Runecrafting mini-games.
Much recognition, but also biting attacks: “Sad and pitiable”
How do people react? On reddit, many are excited and impressed by the achievement. But there are also some nasty comments. There are mentions of bots or multi-accounts.
And there are also personal attacks. It implies: If you play like this, your life must be much worse than yours.
The player himself points out some reddit posts attacking him, stating he has “0 personal contacts” – “Would never shower” and similar things. One reddit user even wrote that it is “sad and pitiable.”

Player says: He plays even more shooters than MMORPGs
Others also ask: How can the man afford to spend so much time on an MMORPG? What does he do for a living?
Devious says: He is a professional YouTuber, which is how he earns his income. He also participates in various e-sports tournaments (via esportsearnings). He even plays more shooters than MMORPGs: Alone with Counter-Strike, he has spent about 15,000 hours since 2004.
After being attacked that his life is so bad, he says: He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, he has no debts, over $100,000 in the bank, and he is his own boss, chooses his own working hours, and goes out with friends twice a week.
But self-deprecatingly, he also writes: A life? No, he doesn’t have that.
And yes, he knows that if he had done a “standard job” in those 19,100 hours, he probably could have earned more money in that time.
But apparently, that was not what mattered to him.
The most powerful character in Smash Bros is Steve from Minecraft. The tournament organizers are now taking action and banning the “hero” directly.
Super Smash Bros. is arguably one of the most well-known fighting game franchises and has been captivating players for generations. Here, absurd combinations of opponents clash – as Link from the Zelda universe fights various Pokémon or Ganondorf gives Bowser a good hit on the shell. However, there are also some unusual characters found in “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate”, such as the Minecraft character “Steve”.
However, it has now turned out that he is so overpowering that he is banned from tournaments.
Hitstun Canceling becomes Steve’s downfall
Why is Steve so overpowered? The blocky Steve from the Minecraft universe has been controversially discussed since his introduction. In the eyes of many, he has long been considered “overpowered” because he can unleash absurdly long combos from which there is practically no escape. Once hit, most players have no choice but to endure the misery that unfolds.
A second point is that Steve hardly has any true “counters”. Therefore, there are only a few other characters that inherently took a solid position against him.
However, the worst part is that Steve is capable of performing what is known as “hitstun canceling”. He can escape from many stuns much earlier than other characters – and thus can retaliate before the original attacker even had a chance to react. Even supposed lethal blows can be easily survived by Steve, allowing him to unleash his own combos.

What has been decided now? More and more tournament organizers have decided to exclude Steve from tournaments. He is therefore no longer allowed to be chosen in such events, and players must switch to other characters.
Is this even “official”? No, at least not in the stricter sense. Because the entire tournament scene around Super Smash Bros. has nothing to do with Nintendo and is organized by other organizers. Therefore, the tournament organizers are faced with a dilemma and must agree on one of two scenarios:
Steve is banned from all tournaments and may no longer be used because he is too overpowered.
Steve may continue to be used, but this “overpowered” trick of canceling the animation must not be used.
Particularly the second scenario would mean a very large additional effort, as each game in online tournaments would have to be checked individually to ensure that the corresponding trick was not used.
Why is Nintendo not doing anything about it? The reason why nothing is being done from Nintendo’s side against the overpowered Steve is quite simple: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is no longer being supplied with updates and patches.
The game is therefore “finished”, and all remaining balance issues within the game will likely remain forever.

MeinMMO author Dariusz Müller is a big fan of various shooters and values hearing the footsteps of his enemies early on. In the past 6 weeks, he has tested in-ear headphones for under €30 and was surprised at how well he could locate his opponents with them.
After my old headphones have passed away, I had to look for new ones. My goal was to find ones suitable for locating footsteps in games. Good sound can make a big difference in a shooter. If you can hear your enemies precisely, you know exactly where they are standing.
I therefore purchased in-ear headphones whose sound was mixed by the well-known audio expert “Crinacle”. Crinacle himself has tested many different headphones and describes himself as “audiophile.” He advocates for neutral sound and clear as well as detailed soundscapes. Manufacturers do not win his favor with excessively strong bass.
He also recommends using standard headphones and an external microphone for gaming and says that there are no gaming headphones. For me, that was enough reason to test the IEMs created in cooperation with Crinacle in various shooters.
7Hz Salnotes Zero – Headphones for under €30
The headphones are the 7Hz Salnotes Zero. These are called IEMs, or “In-Ear Monitors” – a type of headphone often used by musicians and sound engineers to ensure precise and as neutral sound reproduction as possible.
The 7Hz Salnotes Zero cost just €28.99 and come with a detachable cable as well as ear tips (the rubber caps of in-ear headphones) in various sizes.
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
It is important to mention, however, that the Salnotes Zero do not have a microphone. They can also be purchased with a cable that has a microphone attached, but that can cause annoying noise disturbances when in contact with clothing. I personally use an external USB microphone – the Marantz Pod Pack 1 for just under €51.
Phenomenal Sound for Little Money… in Shooters
I have now tested the Salnotes Zero for nearly six weeks in various shooters, most notably in the tactical shooters Rainbow Six: Siege and Valorant. In both games, I really liked the sound of the headphones. I noticed after only a few rounds that I could hear details that I hadn’t noticed before.
In Rainbow Six: Siege, you can lower the sounds you make while walking, for example. To do this, you move forward in a crouch or press the “walk” button. Crouching or walking makes you noticeably slower in the shooter, but also much quieter. With the Salnotes Zero, I was able to hear this over several meters. It even got to the point where opposing players accused me of cheating several times. And I can assure you, it was definitely not my aim.
I know exactly where an opponent is because I can hear him extremely precisely. Even if someone moves only slightly, for example, turns in a different direction or angles the weapon, I can hear it because the in-game character makes minor movements. Sometimes it is the fabric of the clothing that makes sounds. Sometimes it is small tiptoe steps – it doesn’t matter, I hear it.
Whoever plays shooters on console benefits from a good controller. Especially extra buttons are often used to crouch or dropshot. Such extra buttons are also offered by the DualSense Edge:

The Influence of the Expert is Tangible
This extraordinary perception of sound is – I am sure of it – thanks to the influence of Crinacle. He himself explains in a video that pronounced bass may be good for the immersive feeling in a game or a movie, but is rather detrimental for locating footsteps. This is where the Salnotes Zero shine, as the bass is very neutral and does not mask important step or gunshot sounds.
This influence is also noticeable when listening to music. I don’t like the Salnotes Zero that much there. Although the sound is still very clear and detailed, the low bass is noticeable. Audiophiles like Crinacle may like that, but I am more of a casual listener and enjoy the bass. However, that is not a criticism, as I specifically bought the headphones for playing shooters.
And they not only fulfill their purpose – they have exceeded my expectations.
However, if you are looking for headphones for listening to music and want a noticeable bass, the Salnotes Zero may not be the perfect choice for you. However, I have gradually gotten used to the comparatively low bass of the Salnotes Zero, so it no longer bothers me when listening to music.
Gaming Headphones and IEM Competitors Lose the Direct Comparison
My old IEMs and gaming headphones cannot even come close to the Salnotes Zero when it comes to locating footsteps, although I have tested various headphones.
After being disappointed by gaming headphones from Triton and Turtle Beach, I ended up with the significantly more expensive Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless. I found it to be a good gaming headset, even better sound than the renowned competition from HyperX and Astro. But my first IEMs, the KZ ZS 10 Pro, made the headset a dust collector in the closet.
The KZ ZS 10 already made me feel like I suddenly heard things in shooters that I didn’t know could be heard. They were, however, a bit bass-heavy compared to the Salnotes Zero. I liked that when listening to music, but that is also the reason why I can locate footsteps much better with the Zero.
One of the biggest competitors of the Salnotes Zero for me before the purchase were the Moondrop Aria, which shooter expert Marko Jevtic was also enthusiastic about. They are priced at around €80, making them more than double the price. The Moondrop Aria were considered by audiophiles for some time as the undisputed price-performance winner, but were dethroned by the in-house competitor, the Moondrop Chu.
The Moondrop Chu cost only about €20 and showed at their release what price quality sound can be had. Ultimately, I wanted to decide between the Chu and the Salnotes Zero. The decisive point for me was on the one hand the detachable cable of the Zero, and on the other the collaboration with Crinacle. He also tested the Moondrop Chu and had the opportunity to really enhance the Salnotes Zero.
The cable of the 7Hz Salnotes Zero is detachable
Compromises in Comfort
As good as the sound of the Salnotes Zero is, I found the supplied ear tips to be poor. However, I completely understand that it may happen that not everyone finds a perfectly fitting size. I subsequently resorted to the fortunately fitting ear tips from my old IEMs and the problem was solved. Alternatively, I would have had to look for replacements online. My choice would probably have fallen on one of these two options:
Links marked with a shopping cart are so-called affiliate links. When purchasing through these links, we receive a small commission depending on the provider – without affecting the price.More info.
The Moondrop Chu come with a selection of ear tips comparable to the SpinFit W1. So you could buy the Moondrop Chu instead of the SpinFit, use their ear tips and have a pair of headphones for on the go, as a spare or as a gift for a family member who needs a different size for ear tips.
That also means: If you do not like the ear tips, you have to buy other tips for the Salnotes Zero for about €20. This could raise the total cost of the headphones to up to €50.
In this price range, that may seem disproportionately expensive, but in my opinion, the Salnotes Zero have better sound than gaming headphones costing €80 and above. Therefore, I still consider the total price of around €50 to be very good, since suitable ear tips positively influence the sound – especially the bass perception. Additionally, the ear tips fit most IEMs and can thus also be used with a variety of other headphones.
The 7Hz Salnotes Zero with the supplied ear tips
Conclusion: Clear Purchase Recommendation for Shooter Fans
The 7Hz Salnotes Zero are very good for hearing footsteps, making them explicitly suitable for shooter players. If you do not play story games, listen to music, or watch movies and want to feel the bass, I can really recommend the headphones to you – especially for the price of under €30.
The only criticism I have when playing shooters with the Salnotes Zero is the supplied ear tips and the associated wearing comfort. However, even with additionally purchased ear tips for €20, the overall package is in my opinion better than gaming headsets that often cost many times more for a comparable sound and ultimately are still worse.
Even if I include a USB microphone in the calculation, everything together costs under €150, sometimes even under €100, and a USB microphone like the Marantz is far superior to that of a gaming headset.
I give a clear purchase recommendation for the 7Hz Salnotes Zero for playing shooters, even if additional costs for ear tips and microphone arise.
Gaming headsets, of course, still have a right to exist. They are a simple and comfortable “all-in-one” solution. If you do not want to buy in-ear headphones, a USB microphone, and other accessories, you might find a suitable product in our list of the best gaming headsets 2023.

In the current Steam survival hit “Sons of the Forest”, many players have taken a liking to the AI companions Kelvin and Virginia. In a Q&A session, the developers at Endnight have now announced that the helpers are set to become even more useful and autonomous in the future. They also discuss how Sons of the Forest will continue to evolve on its way to release, mentioning eight specific points. Currently, the survival game is still in Early Access on Steam.
What the developers say about Kelvin: In a QA session with fans from Discord and the 2 subreddits for the game, the developers say about everyone’s favorite Kelvin:
We have big plans to give Kelvin more tasks to perform. Some of the things we are working on include allowing him to help build a wall around your base or to reinforce and repair the base when needed.
For Virginia, we plan to add more to her artificial intelligence, such as making her braver when she carries a weapon, and also to base this on how many mutants and cannibals she has already killed.

What else is planned? The developers reveal:
Even more cutscenes and details will be added to the story of Sons of the Forest
There will be more tools on public servers to limit “griefing” – behavior that disadvantages other players
More crafting items will be added to Sons of the Forest
There should be more variance in the camps of the cannibals
The “wooden sled” is set to return, which was initially removed due to too many bugs, and now the team is surprised by how many want it back
What are fans most excited about? “Dedicated servers” are also mentioned. The team is working on it, but there is still no exact date for when they will return.
In a YouTube video about the QA, this is the point that most people like. They had already expected it, but it is very nice to hear the confirmation again.
Addons are indispensable from World of Warcraft. Almost everyone uses them for all sorts of areas: role-playing, raids, dungeons, PvP. Once in a while, there are voices claiming that such modifications would ruin WoW. MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus believes the opposite is true. Without addons, Dragonflight would not be as good today.
Addons make WoW easier. That is the task of most of these supplementary programs: to simplify boss mechanics, provide easier overviews, or better categorize the abilities of one’s class.
I have been playing since the end of Classic WoW and exclusively with addons since the beginning of Burning Crusade. Back then, in youthful ignorance, I measured my damage with one of the controversial damage meters, then still Recount, or played with boss mods in raids.
Today I use much more: WeakAuras, Method Raid Tools, NeatPlates … even our raid only works well thanks to addons. Our leader distributes loot with the help of RCLootCouncil, because there is no real loot master anymore.
Nevertheless, the discussion keeps coming up in forums or on reddit about whether addons are actually necessary, whether they haven’t ruined WoW. After all, they make so much easier. However, you forget one thing: without addons, much would not be possible today.
The trailer shows the most important features of Dragonflight at a glance:
Start video
WoW shows the main features of Dragonflight in the gameplay trailer, fans praise: “Finally hype again”
Bosses are only challenging thanks to DBM
WoW was not harder back then and without addons. On the contrary: Classic was really easy. In Molten Core, there were hardly any challenging mechanics; the game was just new, and everyone had to get used to it.
If you look at the Races to World First, the mythic bosses are simply much tougher than before. I notice this myself as a mythic raider over and over again. And they are harder because they can be.
Raids are still the best content in the game for me. If players hadn’t learned through addons like boss mods which mechanics exist and how to play or avoid them correctly, then it would not have been possible for Blizzard to develop mechanics further.
WoW would not have held up over the years and wouldn’t have become as good as it is today. Because Dragonflight is damn good. I haven’t had so much fun in a raid in years like in the Vault of the Incarnates.
I have completely fallen in love with the Evoker, the new class in Dragonflight – which I could only learn so quickly thanks to addons:
Start video
3 Minuten Gameplay zu Rufer, der neuen Klasse in WoW Dragonflight
I play the new class with a rotation helper and it is great
As both a healer and a DPS, the Evoker is immensely fun for me. However, it is always difficult to learn a new class from scratch. I have read guides, tested the Evoker, and improved myself.
What has helped me the most is the addon Hekili. Hekili shows which ability should be used next to maximize damage. The calculation runs in real-time.
Some will say now: So you are playing on easy mode! No, I am not. I use Hekili to get recommendations for the next cast, but I still decide myself whether to use the spell now, to dodge, or to save my cooldowns for a special moment.
Thus, I quickly became quite good with the Evoker, and after quite a rough time in Shadowlands, I have regained real joy in World of Warcraft.
However, I would have much less fun with the game without addons because I just like to play well. And I get the most out of my class when I can tailor my play to it. If someone doesn’t want them … they don’t have to use them.

The latest Warframe expansion finally has a target release date. However, it’s quite absurd – and surprisingly colorless.
Warframe is a good example of games that have massively evolved over the years and share little with their original version. From a pure multiplayer action slaughterhouse in 2013, it has developed into a multifaceted game with numerous modes and expansions by 2023. The next expansion is now just around the corner, as the developers have finally announced the release of “The Duviri Paradox.”
However, for this expansion, you should prepare for a few rather unusual approaches, as Warframe breaks with some conventions of recent years. “The Duviri Paradox” takes place in the fractured world of the mind of “Dominus Thrax,” the “mad child king.” Because that sounds not only strange but should also play strangely, the entire game world starts out in black and white and has a generally dull, monotonous coloring.
The further you decipher the puzzles and complete tasks, the more colors – and thus also emotions – you bring back into the game world. New colors not only have optical impacts but also change the behavior of the NPCs and enemies encountered here.
Start video
Warframe: The Duviri Paradox Teaser Trailer
3 game modes are supposed to provide fun in the Duviri Paradox
Warframe has long been trying to appeal to different player groups with various game modes. Therefore, there is a lot to do in the new expansion, and 3 game modes are the focus.
The Circuit: An endless game mode just for the Warframes.
The Duviri Experience: This is the main game mode with all side objectives and the way the expansion is supposed to be played.
The Lone Story: This is the campaign of the expansion, which can only be experienced solo. Those interested in the – admittedly quite bizarre – story of the expansion can spend a few interesting hours in the psyche of Dominus Thrax and explore the secrets behind the colors and the drama.
It’s also interesting that the expansion is supposed to be available for both veterans and new players. Therefore, your progress in Warframe should not affect whether you can play “The Duviri Paradox.”
When will the expansion be released? Even though an exact release date is still pending, the release has now been set for “in April 2023.” Accordingly, it will take about 2 more months at worst before Warframe fans can dive into this new and somewhat crazy adventure to confront the mind of Dominus Thrax.
Are you excited for the new expansion?

The Frankfurt studio Crytek has succeeded with the fantasy western “Hunt: Showdown” (PS4, Xbox One, PC), a game that can attract more and more players and fans. In January 2023, it reached the highest average player count on Steam throughout its duration. In 2023, the game will receive an engine upgrade to the current version of CryEngine. The developers say they are curious to see how far the shooter can grow.
What is special about Hunt: Showdown?
The game was released directly after a closed alpha on February 22, 2018, on Steam as an “Early Access” title. At the time, the fantasy western shooter could only attract a relatively small number of players: Between July 2019, it averaged between 1,000 and 3,200 players simultaneously (via steamcharts).
Between 2019 and March 2021, word spread that it was an unusually exciting game. The first-person shooter became a hidden gem, and Hunt: Showdown gained traction. Now it was between 6,000 and 10,000 players.
Since April 2021, it has gone up another notch: the game stabilized at about 15,000 players who are online on average. In January 2023, it even reached a new peak of 17,933 players, 5 years after its release.
Hunt: Showdown gets upgrade to current CryEngine 5.11
This is what the developers say now: The Frankfurt studio Crytek is providing the shooter with an engine upgrade, moving from 5.6 to 5.11. David Fifield, the General Manager of Crytek, explains to PC Gamer
The game is currently running on a legacy version of CryEngine from four years ago. One of the things we will be discussing the most in 2023 will be upgrading the game to the latest version of CryEngine, 5.11, which is four years newer.
“Engine Upgrade” – The Deluxe Treatment for Video Games
That’s why an engine upgrade is so sought after and rare: As PC Gamer knows, an engine upgrade is a special treatment that video games rarely receive because it is so complex. It’s like replacing the body of a car with a new one. This is technically difficult, and it can often lead to new problems.
Many fans, especially of older games, wish for this kind of treatment, but it is practically never included. Fans of the MMORPG World of Warcraft have been dreaming for years, how WoW would look in “pretty and modern”.
“Curious how high the player numbers can still go”
What do the developers say about it? They do not yet reveal when exactly the upgrade will come. It is a “long road,” but it is now on the way. When milestones are reached, they will inform the fans.

What is happening in Pokémon GO right now? Pokémon GO started its new season “Rising Heroes” on March 1st. This brought a few new features, such as the release of Gierspenst in Pokémon GO, but will distribute more events over the calendar in the course of time. The season runs until June 1, 2023.
However, March is first on the agenda, and some content has already been announced for this month. Collectors should keep their eyes open, as during some of the March events of Pokémon GO, there are Pokémon that should be secured in time – otherwise it will become harder or, in the worst case, impossible to get them again.
We present you some of these “must-have dates” here.
Which Pokémon GO dates should you take advantage of in March?
Here we show you 5 Pokémon arranged by dates that you should catch in time before they disappear again or are expected to become harder to get.
1. Spotlight Hour with Evoli
When is the Spotlight Hour with Evoli? On March 7, 2023
What should I secure? In general, Evoli is no longer a particularly rare Pokémon, but still popular. It has a whole range of evolutions that you should secure for the Pokédex.
The Spotlight Hour is the ideal opportunity to secure some strong Evoli specimens and the necessary candy for the evolutions. By the way, when you unlock an evolution for the first time, you can specifically choose it with the evolution tricks for Evoli. Each trick works only once – thereafter the evolution is left to chance or certain evolution factors.
Also for trainers who are on the way to Level 42 (or at least planning it in the long term), collecting Evoli is worth it. For level 42, you need to evolve Evoli into all its evolutions – and given the random factor, you’ll need a lot of Evoli.
2. Color Festival with Shiny Farbeagle
When does the Color Festival take place? From March 8 to March 14, 2023
What should I secure? At the top of the list is Shiny Farbeagle. Although it has been available as Shiny before, its Shiny version has not been consistently available since its debut like with other monsters.
The shimmering variant of the paint monster cannot currently be obtained until the Color Festival in Pokémon GO starts. And even afterwards, the shiny Pokémon will disappear again – until the next event, where the variant will be activated.
If you have not yet been able to collect Shiny Farbeagle, you should try to get it during the Color Festival. To do this, you have to take snapshots and hope that Farbeagle will be attracted by them – and then also be shiny.
Additionally, during the event, Mega-Meditalis and the new Pokémon Knirfish will be introduced to the game. As Mega monsters rotate and not much is known about the spawns after the event, you should also secure them just in case you are aiming for a full Pokédex.
3. Top Raids with Regieleki and Regidrago
When do the Top Raids take place in March? On March 11, 2023.
What should I secure?Regieleki and Regidrago are the new bosses in the Top Raids, following the unleashed Hoopa. These raids are extremely difficult to accomplish, as you need a lot of trainers to defeat them, and you cannot participate in the Top Raids via remote raid.
You should therefore note down the date and ideally aim for an area with many gyms and trainers, such as large cities – at least if you want to have both Regis for the Pokédex.
Both monsters can be seen here in the trailer:
Start video
Pokémon GO starts new season „Rising Heroes”
Is there still a chance? Yes, on April 9, the two will come back to the Top Raids, so a little less than a month later. But afterwards, according to Niantic, they will not be available in this season – at least until June.
4. Community Day with both Shiny-Flegmon & Galar-Lahmus
The Community Day with Flegmon is for collectors
When does the Community Day take place? On March 18, 2023.
What should I secure? As always, the Community Day is a great opportunity to secure the shiny variant of a Pokémon. However, the Community Day with Flegmon is exciting, as it marks the debut of a new shiny variant with Galar-Flegmon in Pokémon GO.
Catching is worthwhile, as Flegmon and Galar-Flegmon each have two evolutions: Lahmus and Laschoking, or their special Galar variants.
Another advantage of the Community Day: For Galar-Lahmus, you normally need to collect 30 poison Pokémon when you have Galar-Flegmon as your buddy to evolve it. However, during the Community Day, this requirement will change to “psychic” Pokémon.
For Galar-Laschoking, you still need to collect 30 psychic Pokémon, and this remains the case during the event. This is convenient, as Flegmon will be abundant in the wild on that day. Thus, evolving both variants will be easier to achieve than usual.
When does the next Rocket Takeover take place? Between March 21 and March 29.
What should I secure? This entry is somewhat understood differently: Remember the date of the Rocket Takeover, as the current Rocket teams may be shuffled again.
If that is the case, you should secure a strong Crypto-Tanhel from Sierra by then. It can be transformed into Crypto-Metagross, one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. It is also assumed that during this time, you can forget “frustration,” as with previous Rocket Takeovers.
However, no details about the next Rocket Takeover are known yet – only that there will be a new takeover as part of the “Everyday Hero” event, which runs between March 21 and March 29.
As soon as more details are known, we will keep you updated at MeinMMO.
Steam takes a large part of the revenue from every sale. But is that so unfair? An indie developer is extremely satisfied with it.
When you buy a game through the Steam platform, not only the developer and publisher of the game benefit – Steam itself also takes a large piece of the purchase price. A hefty 30% is claimed by Valve every time a game is sold. “Much too much,” some say and describe the practice as greedy. However, there are also developers who are very happy with the 30% – like Bellular.
Why is Bellular talking about this? The YouTuber and developer Bellular, known mainly for his WoW analyses, released a game on Steam a few days ago. In a stream, he afterwards talked about the sales figures and ideas on how to do better next time. He openly displayed the Steam data for his game and also addressed the “30% share” that Steam retains from each sale.

What does Bellular say about it? In one of his latest videos, Bellular not only shows the sales figures of his game “The Pale Beyond”, but also addresses the question of whether the 30% share from Steam is justified:
The question many ask: Does Valve deserve this 30%? There is a reason why this is a very short section [in this video]. Because the reason is: Yes. From our perspective as indie developers, where Valve takes 30% and only then the rest of the money is distributed to publishers and employees – we are very happy with Valve’s 30%.
What may seem incomprehensible at first glance, Bellular explains a bit more. Of course, 30% is a large share, but one needs to consider more:
The amount of attention, the “click-through rate” and all [the other benefits] … they have taken 30%. But it is 30% of a much larger cake.
In other words: The 30% is indeed a lot, but through Steam, the game is seen and bought by many more people, so in the end, the developers still make significantly more money than if they did not advertise and sell on Steam. With this 30%, you are essentially buying the reach and attention that ultimately leads to game sales.
Steam brings even more benefits: Bellular and his colleague Matt also discuss that Steam brings additional advantages. Because Steam is a platform that primarily cares about its customers, who are always prioritized. Therefore, systems like “refunds” on Steam are particularly easy to implement – such as the “2-hour” rule, allowing players to return games if they do not like them.
Even if developers lose some money afterwards, it would be a good thing, as those who can easily return a game are less likely to leave an angry, negative review afterwards.
On the other hand, Steam is always criticized for the 30%. For example, the Epic Games Store aggressively promoted at its launch that it would take a much smaller share.
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
Some testers of Throne and Liberty have apparently broken the NDA and revealed details. In particular, the combat system is concerning. Additionally, New World has shown the new Battle Pass, there are discussions about the endgame in WoW, and Guild Wars 2 has brought a new patch. All of this in the weekly review.
Blue Protocol has released a new benchmark tool. You can download it from the Japanese website, and there are no regional restrictions either. There, you can test whether your system can handle the new MMORPG well, and you can also create a character and even save the settings (via Blue Protocol).
Mad World, a spooky 2D perspective MMORPG, is confident it will release in June 2023 (via Discord).

In Pokémon GO you can expect a Catching Techniques event right at the beginning of the new month. We at MeinMMO will show you which spawns and bonuses you can look forward to during this event and reveal which Shinies you can secure with a bit of luck.
What event is it? March has begun, and the new season, “Rising Heroes”, is introduced in Pokémon GO with a one-day Catching Techniques event.
The focus is on catching Fighting Pokémon, so the spawns will be adjusted accordingly. We have summarized which monsters you can expect and what bonuses will be available.
When is the event? The Catching Techniques event will take place on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Fighting Pokémon for the Catching Techniques Event – All Spawns and Bonuses
The Pokémon of the day: Similar to a Community Day, specific Pokémon will also be the focus during the Catching Techniques event. On this day, you will encounter Rabauz and its evolutions Kicklee, Nockchan, and Kapoera. In the following overview, we show you where you can meet these monsters:
In the Wild: Kicklee & Nockchan
7-km Eggs: Rabauz
Event Field Research: Kapoera
With a bit of luck, you will be able to catch them all in their shiny forms as well. You can see what the Shinies look like in the image below:
Rabauz, Kapoera, Kicklee, and Nockchan normal (top) and as Shiny (bottom)
Special Event Bonuses: In addition to the four Fighting Pokémon, you can also look forward to a few bonuses during the short event:
double XP when catching monsters with a good, great, or fantastic Curveball
increased shiny chance for Kicklee, Nockchan, and Kapoera
Event Field Research where you must prove your throwing skills
Time-limited research focused on your accuracy when throwing
Who should use the event? This event is particularly interesting for all shiny hunters, as the chances of a shiny specimen are increased on this day for three of the four Pokémon. If you want to secure one of them, you should definitely take advantage of the event.
But the XP bonus is also impressive. If you catch your monsters with a Curveball that has been thrown well, great, or fantastic, you will receive double experience points. Those who catch a lot on this day and have a talent for throwing will get closer to their goal of level 50.
Rabauz and its evolutions are not particularly strong, which is why they do not play a special role in the GO Battle League and in raids. If you are looking for a strong Pokémon for the raids, you should rather rely on one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. We will show you a selection in the following video:

How do you like the start of March? Will you participate in the event with the Fighting Pokémon? Or did you hope for something else? Feel free to share your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers about it.
The English Twitch streamer “Sweet Anita” (32) criticizes the government in the UK for not doing enough to combat stalking. She fights for a change but does not know where to start.
What is stalking? Stalking refers to the “repeated unlawful following, tracking, persistent harassment, threatening and terrorizing of a person against their will.” Stalkers are often former partners (via police advice), but especially for public figures, even supposed fans can develop an unhealthy obsession.
For instance, the streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa reported in June 2022 about a stalker who moved from Estonia to a hotel near her because of her. On March 2, 2023, she shared on her personal Twitter account that the man was back and had tried to break into her while she was at a press conference for her boxing event.

On March 3, the English streamer Sweet Anita also spoke up via Twitter about her stalking experiences and her efforts to change the legal situation.
What experiences does the streamer have with stalkers? As the streamer reports, years ago she had to defend herself against a burglar in her house. Later, someone slept in her garden, waiting for her to leave the house and attacked her in front of witnesses.
The police did not take action in either case, the 32-year-old said. We have embedded the beginning of the thread here:

What has she done? Sweet Anita explains that she reached out directly to the lawmakers of the United Kingdom regarding the “stalking situation”. Together with a member of parliament, she submitted proposals for the prosecution of stalkers.
However, the streamer’s proposals were rejected. Apparently, the government believes it is already doing enough, according to Sweet Anita. In the meantime, people are dying or their lives are being ruined.
My friends and people I admire are completely ignored while their lives are at stake. Behaviors that are “technically” illegal are not prosecuted.
Sweet Anita emphasizes that this is not just a problem in her country. The case of Amouranth shows that it is a global problem.
In the comments, many women share their own experiences with stalkers. The German streamer Baso also commented on the topic and condemned what women have to deal with online (via Twitter).
What happens next? Sweet Anita does not want to give up: She is willing to do everything to bring about change. However, she does not know where to start. She is there to help if anyone has an idea (via Twitter).
If you or people around you are affected by stalking, contact the police. You can also find advice on the website of the aid organization Weißer Ring. The general victim hotline can be reached at 0116 006 daily between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
Women also have to deal with a lot online. The YouTuber Gnu reported on the sexualization she and others experience and calls on platforms like Reddit to take more responsibility.
Only 5 days after the launch of Lightfall, Destiny 2 must deactivate another exotic, the Stasis glaive “Winterbite”. Previously, the Exo fusion rifle Jötunn had already fallen victim to the banhammer. MeinMMO tells you why the weapons are no longer in the game.
Recently, the new expansion Lightfall and the new Season 20, the Season of the Resistance for Destiny 2 have launched. These bring all sorts of new content, but apparently, problems have sneaked in as well. Thus, Bungie was forced again this evening to deactivate an exotic weapon.
What exotic has now been locked in Destiny 2? As Bungie announced via their official Twitter channel, the exotic glaive “Winterbite” has been locked. This is a new Lightfall weapon that has only been available to earn for 5 days. It was also the first glaive to be used in the power slot.
The exotic Stasis glaive in the heavy slot fires a large ball of energy that follows nearby enemies and freezes them.
Players who had completed the Lightfall campaign could begin the glaive quest with Quinn Laghari, the archivist in the Hall of Heroes. She asked players to help her restore 5 monuments.
The last monument named “Strider” then rewards the icy Exo trinket in the form of the heavy glaive “Winterbite”.
Hardly earned, but for the Guardians, the frosty glaive fun was already over again, as Bungie coldly locked the new Neptune scepter.

“Winterbite” deactivated – But why?
What triggered the lock? The glaive was not for nothing considered a “frosty monster” among players, even before the release of Lightfall.
Last night, YouTuber Luckyy10P shared a short video on Twitter showing him in the ogre encounter of the dungeon “Sog der Habsucht”. With him, the new exotic glaive “Winterbite” for the stress test. In the video, you can see how the weapon melts the boss in no time. After just one phase, he meets his demise. Apparently too much of a good thing.

Here, YouTuber Lucky10P pointed out the glaive problem
Bungie reacts quickly with the deactivation: No sooner than 40 minutes later, the developer responded with a lock. The heavy glaive “Winterbite” was deactivated due to a problem where it caused more damage than intended.
However, it was not disabled throughout the game, but only in raids, dungeons, and in the PvEvP mode Gambit.

This weapon is also currently locked: The “Jötunn” fusion rifle from the “Black Armory” DLC is also currently deactivated in the Crucible, the PvP of Destiny 2, as well as in raids and dungeons. Its shot not only tracks enemies but explodes and burns them upon impact.

The Jötunn was already disabled in PvP 1 day after the release of Lightfall
However, Bungie did not specify why the Exo was disabled in PvP. However, Destiny 2 players believe they know the issue. It is said that using the Jötunn in combination with the “Solar Plunderer” mod generated more ammo than intended.
Normally, the “Solar Plunderer” mod grants 2x special ammo instead of 1x when picking up ammo used by the corresponding weapon.
However, the bug with the Jötunn is said to have generated 10x special ammo each time.
If this is true, then the exotic was apparently removed to maintain balance in the Crucible, meaning in PvP, as well. Additionally, it seems they wanted to ensure that not every boss and enemy perishes under the fire of multiple Jötunn toasters with an extreme amount of ammo.
If you are interested in more about Lightfallthis might also interest you:
When will the weapons return? Unfortunately, Bungie did not specify. Thus, the exotics are likely to be gone until a fix can be provided. However, we will keep you updated on this matter here at MeinMMO and update this article accordingly.
No deactivation. But this new Lightfall exotic may also be close to a nerf:
In 2018, the online shooter Fortnite became huge on Twitch: careers emerged from nowhere. Especially two streamers became stars overnight. The blue-haired Tyler “Ninja” Blevins impressed with his hard shooter skills. But Ali “Myth” Kabbani (then 19) was the more skilled builder. In 2023, 5 years later, both of their careers have somewhat stagnated. For Myth, that’s not a problem at all.
How did Myth’s breakthrough happen back then?
The American with Syrian roots had only started streaming on Twitch in 2016. Just a year later, he discovered Fortnite: Battle Royale. Two years later, at just 19 years old, he was a successful Twitch streamer and hundreds of thousands knew his name.
In the early days of the shooter, late 2017/early 2018, Myth made a name for himself as a skilled builder at a time when hardly anyone could build in Fortnite. Yet, strangely, he had issues with nerves and could never really deliver in important games. While the ambitious Ninja thrived in crucial matches, Myth repeatedly died in foolish ways, fell during the big Las Vegas event in April 2018 and died from fall damage. He regularly messed up.
Nevertheless, his channel grew tremendously in 2018: he accumulated 4.6 million followers, becoming one of the biggest streamers on Twitch in a short time.
In 2018, Myth was regarded as a great builder in Fortnite:

How did his career progress? 2018 was actually the peak of his career. In the years that followed, Myth became a solid variety streamer with between 8,000 and 12,000 viewers. That’s no longer quite the top league, but a solid spot just behind the top streamers.
With 7.4 million followers, he would still be in 12th place among the biggest channels today.
For Twitch streamers, such a deal is a luxury: They get a lot of money, no longer have to chase Twitch subs, and can design their lives freely.

Through Fortnite to the largest streamer on Twitch – Who is Ninja and what is he doing today?
While other YouTubers like Valkyrae or TimTheTatman have been fully launching on YouTube, Myth seems to be taking it easy.
On YouTube, he has hardly any viewers compared to before: Although he has 4.5 million subscribers there, his videos only reach 10,000 viewers, sometimes 40,000 if things go well.
But he seems to have no problems with that at all. He posts on Twitter now:
“I am grateful for the fact that I did not lose my mind over all the internet celebrity crap when I fell off the popularity train. Good night.”
But he hasn’t really disappeared from the spotlight. The tweet was displayed 670,000 times.

A Twitter user asks him: “Don’t you want to rebuild your career?”
“Well,” says Myth. He has plans. But he does it his way. The most important thing for him is to be happy first. He doesn’t care about all the “fake shit.”
Myth seems to be an alternative to the other big Fortnite streamer of his time, Ninja. Ninja seems to be struggling with how his career has been going in recent years:
Myth had a quiet career, admits: He was actually terrible at Fortnite
In the time after Fortnite, Myth made a name for himself as an ironic, thoughtful streamer, who tried to provide his community with a warm, calm place where they could relax and feel comfortable.
Myth became a voice of reason on Twitch, respected and liked by many, even though he no longer played at the top for views, but settled for streaming in front of 8,000 viewers, sometimes a few more, sometimes a few less.
In 2020, he looked back on his time as a “Fortnite god” and said: God, he was terrible at Fortnite back then. No one just noticed. He had gotten the most out of his career: Others had to be pros and good at their games. He was a pro, but terribly bad. Yet he was still there. That was an achievement.

After Destiny 2 lifted the time gate for Strand this week, the path to another Lightfall exotic was clear – the “Final Warning” pistol. However, the weapon is not just a Strand pistol, but a trackingunrelenting nightmare in PvP that is truly insane. We will show you why.
Currently, players in Destiny 2 have started various side quests revealed after the Lightfall campaign of the new DLC. An unplanned live update from Bungie also early on opened up the path to a new exotic pistol that revealed surprisingly nasty attributes that can dominate everything, especially in PvP.
What makes the new weapon so crazy? After the first players earned the exotic Lightfall weapon “Final Warning”, it quickly became clear that it is primarily an unrelenting exotic in the kinetic slot in PvP, equipped with some nasty special abilities.
Especially the tracking bullets are really aggressive and almost never miss their target.
Those who own it are in for a treat, as the weapon behaves like it has an aim-bot built in by Bungie itself, prompting some players to laugh maliciously after the kill, as you can see and hear in this weapon review:

The “Final Warning” is aggressive and relentless in PvP
Especially the tracking is way too good: The exotic traits give the new Strand pistol a mean relentlessness in PvP, which could lead to a nerf quite quickly. Because it’s just too good.
The 450 pistol “Final Warning” can fire bullets that aggressively track targets.
When firing from the hip, the bullets cause higher body hit damage on impact.
If you prefer aiming, you benefit as well. In this case, projectiles have a significantly increased speed and deal additional damage to marked targets through critical hits.
A marked target is also disintegrated when hit by a fully charged volley.
And the kinetic weapon has unlimited ammunition, which could become a problem in PvP.
So if you still have tasks pending in PvP that require pistol kills: this is the opportunity.
With its exotic perk, “Final Warning” is currently sweeping everyone away in PvP, even around corners.
The pistol shouldn’t even be available yet: Destiny 2: Lightfall contains a few new exotic weapons. However, while the machine gun “Deterministic Chaos” or the glaive “Winterbite” could be unlocked relatively early, the new exotic Strand pistol “Final Warning” was actually timegated.
Players were supposed to receive the quest for the exotic weapon only after mastering the raid starting on March 10, which would have unlocked the last Strand fragments.
Additionally, to receive the quest, one must purchase each Strand fragment for a character.
For the quest “The Final Strand”, you must “Upended” in a kind of Vex mixer.
After that, you can complete the quest, which only has 7 steps.
Step 1 – Visit Nimbus on Neomuna: You can find him at the spawn point “Wanderer’s Gate”.
Step 2 – Find Strand devices: Now travel to the Vex incursion zone, as you need to find Strand devices there.
Step 3 – Defeat Shadow Legion looters: Now the quest requires you to survive a few Cabal waves until a Colossus appears that you need to kill. Read their orders to find out where they got their loot from.
Step 4 – Get the “Veil Spectrometer”: For this, you need to go back to Calus’s ship, the Typhon Imperator.
Step 5 – Return to the Wanderer’s Gate: You now need to head to the Pouka Pond at the Hall of Heroes.
Step 6 – Complete Osiris’s training program: Now go to the “Vex Mixer” where Osiris will test your Strand abilities. Unlike in the campaign, this mission “Upended” is now a timed version of 5 minutes, so you need to hurry.
A real Vex mixer: Inside the “Testing Grounds” at Osiris’s training program, Destiny 2 throws you into a Vex mixer that you must escape from continually while keeping enemies at bay. Especially in the legendary campaign this kept the guardians busy and gave the grappling hook a purpose.
This rather special obstacle course and the subsequent boss fight also offer a few Neomuna triumphs in time, encouraging speedruns with Strand.
Step 7 – Done: The final step is just a visit to the Pouka Pond. There, you can pick up the “Final Warning” weapon and complete the quest.
All individual steps of the quest can also be found in the video from Nexxoss-Gaming:

Another new weapon exotic that you can currently hunt in Lightfall is the machine gun “Deterministic Chaos”:
Many Twitch streamers are currently being asked by their viewers if they can imagine switching to the controversial competitor platform Kick. Some are more reserved, citing moral concerns. Not so Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris. The 29-year-old explains why he would switch immediately for a million dollars.
What is Kick all about? Kick was touted in December by streamer Tyler “Trainwreck” Niknam as a fair alternative to Twitch. Behind the platform are said to be investors from the disreputable online casino Stake.
On Kick, sexual and gambling content are regulated much less strictly, and they also seem to take copyright less seriously. The platform also attracts with a 95/5 split for subs: This means that 95% of the money from paid subscriptions is supposed to go directly to the content creators.
Recently, the question has repeatedly come up in the chats of many streamers as to whether they will go to Kick or at least consider it. However, even someone who has already made the switch expresses criticism:
Sodapoppin does not dwell on such concerns. In a stream on March 2, he made it clear that he would be ready immediately for the right offer.
Sodapoppin predicts a grim future for Kick
What does the streamer say about Kick? Sodapoppin, who is celebrated by fans for his tough demeanor, only had to think briefly on March 2 when asked by a viewer about a switch.
The 28-year-old does not seem particularly convinced by the big promises of the new streaming platform. Rather, he is already speculating that Kick will go down the drain:
Do you know what? I would accept a million-dollar contract because just like with Mixer, I feel that the website will go under, and they will fulfill their contracts, and I will be back on Twitch immediately.
We have embedded the clip for you here:

Streamers like Ninja and shroud made millions with their switches and were able, after Mixer failed, to return to Twitch as if nothing had happened – only with much more money in their pockets. Sodapoppin seems determined not to let such an opportunity slip away again.
For Kick, he could indeed be an attractive candidate, as with his 8.2 million followers, he has the tenth-largest Twitch channel worldwide. If he were to bring a portion of his fans to the new platform, it could be worthwhile. Whether Kick wants someone who openly bets on the platform’s demise remains to be seen.
Even in the German streaming scene, many are flirting with an alternative to Twitch. MontanaBlack, one of the largest German streamers, has spoken several times about his dissatisfaction with the platform. However, a switch is only an option for him under certain conditions:
The German streamer Real_Bazzi became a popular influencer in the German Twitch cosmos in 2021 with GTA 5. Then he turned to casino streams. Within a week, his career collapsed. He received permanent bans on Twitch and Instagram. But he doesn’t want to let that stop him. Even if he himself says: Morally, what he is doing is absolutely unacceptable. He has fallen into a “different track.”
How Real_Bazzi became successful:
The streamer became successful in 2018 with role-playing in GTA 5 within a few months.
He was especially aided by his contact with the German star streamer MontanaBlack: Real_Bazzi played a fictional version of the 34-year-old in GTA 5, who at the gamescom caused a stir just by his presence.
The German star initially found it okay, but later ended his contact with Real_Bazzi. The latter caused “too many headaches,” as MontanaBlack said, would speak poorly of him. There was no bad blood, but he wanted distance now (via youtube).

Career and Life of MontanaBlack in 2 Minutes: What Makes Him Unique?
This was Real_Bazzi’s horror week: Although it was known that the German shooting star had been personally struggling with gambling addiction for 8 to 10 years, he started showing casino streams on Twitch about 2 weeks ago.
He apparently let himself be persuaded by the two major German casino streamers Scurrows and Orangemorange.
But it went terribly wrong. Both Twitch and Instagram permanently banned him from their platforms. As Real_Bazzi says: Without a real reason, just because he showed casino. He had never been welcome there.
The streaming platform Kick is like having outsourced the categories “Slots” and “Hot Tubs” from Twitch.
Real_Bazzi says: He is not a bad person, but he doesn’t find what he is doing okay
This is what the streamer says about how things will continue: Real_Bazzi says in an initial stream on Kick: He has landed there now. Here he feels welcome, and he received an immediate partner contract.
But apparently, the much criticism of the last days seems to be gnawing at him. In the stream he says (via youtube):
“I am not such a bad person that I would somehow screw over anyone or anything else. I am doing all this for my family and everything, brother. Do you think I am doing the casino and everything for me, brother? […] Even if it is not a proper step. Even if it is really morally unacceptable – I am doing all this for them. I know that it might not be morally justifiable. I know it…
Although he knows that it is not morally okay, he is still bothered by the fact that people were so gleeful about his ban. People wrote in the comments that he “screwed himself over.” That is true, but he is now trying to make the best of it.
He has been making role-playing and other content for years and has built a “hard” community. He wants to keep it. Although he has “fallen into a different track,” that doesn’t mean he won’t do something else in the future.
Twitch streamers build their careers with GTA 5, then monetize their reach with gambling streams
What is this about? This is a strange trend in Germany – Since 2018, role-playing in GTA 5 has been popular in German Twitch. Leading streamers included Orangemorange, Scurrows, and indeed Real_Bazzi:
Scurrows was a successful GTA 5 streamer in 2018 until he was banned from Twitch.
Orangemorange showed a lot of GTA 5 in 2020 and 2021, and his channel grew rapidly during this time.
Real_Bazzi made his breakthrough in 2021.
But starting in 2022, Orangemorange and Scurrows began to monetize their popularity and reach that they built in GTA 5 through deals with the online casino Stake.
The controversial casino is said to reportedly pay handsomely for successful streamers to show their viewers how they play on virtual gambling machines.
Real_Bazzi seems to have joined the trend in 2023 after being told how much money was involved.
This whole connection between streamers and casinos is being viewed suspiciously by the rest of Twitch. Because streamers who show casinos are suspected of leading their viewers into gambling addiction and financial ruin.
These accusations are also more than clear to the former gambling addict Real_Bazzi, and he also feels the rejection that parts of Twitch and his former community are directing at him, but apparently he has set other priorities.
On Steam, one of the largest MMORPGs is currently available for free. If you secure Black Desert by March 9th, you can keep it forever.
What kind of offer is this? The sandbox MMORPG Black Desert is currently free on Steam. The offer is valid until Thursday, March 9th at 19:00. You can secure it by adding the game to your library on the Steam page.
What kind of game is this? In Black Desert, classic quests and the story play a rather subordinate role. Instead, the game provides you with a lot of freedom. You can build a network of workers to make money or travel the world with a self-built ship.
Black Desert was released in Europe on March 3, 2016, and is still very popular: Only Lost Ark and MIR4 have higher player counts among MMORPGs on Steam (via SteamDB). With 75%, the ratings on Steam are also mostly positive.
What do you save? Outside of the promotion, BDO is a buy-to-play title and costs €10. More expensive packages cost €30 and €50. However, additional costs may arise through the in-game cash shop.

Many freedoms and much grind
Who is BDO suitable for? If you enjoy beautiful graphics and exciting guild battles with a dynamic combat system, as well as customizing your characters, you can have a lot of fun with BDO.
However, you should enjoy exploring and seeking your own adventures, as there are hardly any clear tasks and goals.
It is also ideal for players who like to invest a lot of time in games. So really a lot of time. Since there is no maximum level, it invites endless grinding; for the higher levels, however, you can plan a few months.
One of the currently highest-rated reviews on Steam also warns: “If you have a life, don’t play it.” However, if you don’t have a life, you can build one in the game (via Steam). At the time of the review, the account already had over 1,450 hours logged, and now there are 1,876 (as of March 4, 2023).
If expensive in-game shops and a gear system that relies on RNG annoy you, you should look for something else.
