On the map, snow-covered mountains can be seen in the north, east, and southeast. They have some POIs that can be recognized based on buildings from a bird’s eye view. In the middle and the western part of the map, the snow disappears, revealing green meadows and trees. More POIs adorn the map, while the most striking is the new rail system.

This fire can even kill the game: While a lot of scorching stacks alone cannot kill a Guardian, there won’t be much life left either. You may be incredibly powerful, which is quite tempting, but it only works as long as you keep healing yourself in Destiny 2 by any available means. However, eventually, you will reach a point where you have built up so many scorching stacks that even Destiny 2 crashes.

What is a Monkey’s Paw situation?
The expression is sometimes also used as “Monkey’s Paw” or “Monkey’s Paw Effect” to refer to an unwanted turn or negative consequences that can arise from a specific action or, as here, a wish.
Some players even believe this is intentional. However, if you look at the game crashes, this cannot be an intended effect from Bungie. And this has now also been confirmed.
This is what Bungie says: With all the fun, the Season Creative Lead of Bungie has stated to Paul Tassi that it is not a malicious or devious intent from Riven or Bungie.
Currently, it is still unclear when the developer can fix the issue. Surely you can use the wish – but healing is only possible as long as you have enemies. If these are lacking, there is little or no way to save yourself. With just one life point left, you are then a one-shot from everything. And Destiny 2 could still crash on you. So better not tempt your luck until a solution is found.

In Pokémon GO, the new Pokémon Hisui-Admurai debuts today, December 3rd. We summarize everything about the event for you.
When does the Raid Day take place? On Sunday, December 3rd, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. It is the first major event of the new season “Timeless Travels”.
What kind of event is this? The Hisui form of Admurai will appear for the first time in Pokémon GO on this Raid Day. When it will appear again afterwards is currently unknown. If you want to secure the monster for your Pokédex entry, you should seize the opportunity.
Hisui-Admurai will appear as a level-3 boss in most gyms in Pokémon GO. If you defeat it, you can catch it.

How does the Raid Day with Hisui-Admurai work?
How do I defeat Hisui-Admurai? The Pokémon is of the Dark and Water type, which brings a whole range of type weaknesses. It receives increased damage from the following types:
Bug
Electric
Fairy
Fighting
Grass
The top counters include Mega evolutions like Mega Sceptile, Mega Gardevoir, or simply Mega Rayquaza, as it is just a beastly attacker. Otherwise, rely on Terrakion, Katakami, Voltriant, or other Pokémon from the list of the best counters against Hisui-Admurai in Pokémon GO.
Can Hisui-Admurai be shiny? Yes, the shiny form will also be catchable if you’re lucky.
What bonuses are there? The most important bonus is the additional raid passes. You can get up to five free passes during the event by spinning gym photo discs. However, note: The next pass is only available after you have used one. And they can only be redeemed on-site, not as a remote raid.
So here’s what to do to get the most opportunities:

Can I also get Hisui-Admurai differently? As of now, no. The Hisui variant is “decoupled” from the regular evolution line of Ottaro, Zwottronin, and Admurai in Pokémon GO and is treated as a standalone Pokémon. So you cannot evolve any of your previously caught Ottaro into Hisui-Admurai via Zwottronin.

Everything seemed lost, but then a portal opened and took your skin into space, where many universes with different content awaited the players.

Among the contents were a Lego world with familiar Fortnite faces like the Durr Burger. In this dimension, players could build houses and even fight against nasty monsters.

When does the live event of Season OG start? The live event is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 8 PM German time (via fortnite.com). This is one of the largest live events Fortnite has ever created. The developers are ending Chapter 4 and then starting Chapter 5 with a big bang. The event is named “The Big Bang.”
You should be aware of the following: Note that you can join the event mode 30 minutes before the event. Since this is a huge event, you should log in with your account 3 to 4 hours before the event, as you might face long waiting times and thus miss the event.

What can I expect at the live event? Many leakers managed to access the new update data after Patch 27.11 and found out that Epic Games has prepared many things that players can expect at the event.
The main attraction of the event is expected to be a performance by Eminem, the iconic rapper, who you shouldn’t mess with. However, according to Epic, this is not a concert; Slim Shady is supposed to play a significant role and usher us into Chapter 5. What Epic Games has planned and whether Eminem will rap a song or two is still unknown.
What is known, however, is that Epic Games has entered into a partnership with Lego. In the background image of the Fortnite lobby, there is a llama that has been built with Lego. There have been many rumors from leakers about this beforehand (via twitter.com), that Epic Games is working on a Lego mode, and with Chapter 5, it might finally come to fruition.

Lastly, Epic Games themselves claim that the live event of Chapter 4 is meant to mark a reboot for Fortnite. How big the reboot will actually be we will probably only see on December 2.
Will there be downtime after the event? Yes, and this has already been announced by Epic Games. On Sunday, December 3, 2023, Fortnite will start server maintenance at 05:30 AM German time.
What happens in the time between the end of the live event and the start of maintenance is not known, but we suspect that Epic will deactivate the servers right after the event. Players have often had to wait before an endless loading screen until Epic started maintenance hours later.

What else happens in the trailer? The trailer briefly touches on the story of Chapter 5. Jonesy discovers a hidden message underground that shows his banana buddy “Peely” has been kidnapped. With new weapons and his colleague, he plunges back into the chaos of the Battle Royale.
The trailer features new features such as:
An expanded parkour system that allows players to even climb walls
Weapons receive mods that adjust your weapons to your playstyle
Additionally, a train is supposed to circle the Chapter 5 map, which can be hijacked and searched for treasures and items
Furthermore, new items such as a tactical shield and a grappler have been introduced. The shield blocks your shots and you can charge at your enemies with it.
The grappler, on the other hand, behaves like the one from the collaboration with Attack on Titan. Aim at a point and pull yourself towards it; if an enemy is nearby, you can additionally perform a strong melee attack to deal damage while swinging.
The map has not yet been shown in detail. The trailer reveals new locations and structures that resemble classic British buildings.
There will also be no shortage of cars, as they are back, for instance in the form of Lamborghinis. A cooperation between Fortnite and the car manufacturer is not known, but the trailer shows many Lambos with the brand name.
When does Season 1 in Chapter 5 start? We cannot say for sure. Yiliang Peter Doublelift Peng has announced his retirement from the LoL professional scene after more than a decade. Doublelift is one of the few North American players who have been at the top of the LCS throughout most of his career. Now he has announced in an emotional video that this time he is really stepping away from his career as a professional player for good.
Who is Doublelift?
Doublelift has achieved legendary status as an ADC. He played for CLG, TSM, Team Liquid, and most recently for 100 Thieves. With TSM, he won three LCS titles. In total, he has won eight titles.
However, he was kicked from TSM after a dispute with the boss Reginald, after which he swore to take revenge on the team. He switched to Team Liquid and actually won four championships in 2018 and 2019. He then returned to TSM.
At the end of 2020, Doublelift ended his career after TSM completely failed at the LoL Worlds 2020, finishing with a 0-6 record.
During this time, Doublelift built a successful Twitch channel.
In 2023, he returned to play for 100 Thieves. At 30 years old, he is one of the oldest LoL professionals.
What does Doublelift say in the video? In this video on YouTube, Doublelift reflects on his career, which has been marked by highs and lows. His first break occurred in Season 7 due to mental issues, while his second retirement after leaving TSM in Season 10 was due to external pressure and the need for a break to gather himself again. I knew in my heart that I would come back and try again, he emphasizes. For him, the breaks were not really an end, but this time he means it seriously.

Doublelift expressed concerns about the development of the LCS and Esports in general. His dream of becoming world champion and achieving something internationally for America is far from reality. There are not many teams willing to spend money, so there are only a few competitive rosters. Doublelift also emphasizes that he has achieved all his goals in his career except for winning the world championship title.
I want to start a family
Besides the mentioned reasons, Doublelift especially emphasizes that he wants to move into the next phase of his life. Doublelift expresses that he would like to get married and start a family. Currently, he is in a relationship with Leena Xu, the former manager of TSM.
He reflects that pursuing his professional career while fulfilling these life goals would be unreasonable because he tends to dedicate every hour of the day to gaming as a professional player.
Doublelift has not always been so self-assured
The professional player also shares in the video about his youth. He shares his development from an insecure, socially anxious teenager to an adult man with his own personality and self-confidence. He says:
If I could go back in time and talk to my 15-year-old self – that I would have this life, that I would have fans and a career and be successful. It would just not make any sense.
How could that be something my old self would believe? I was literally the biggest loser in my school. Seriously, I was always embarrassed by my appearance, embarrassed by my social skills. I was always super panicky when I talked to someone.
The now former professional player also expressed his passion for the game and the community. In fact, I found some of the “girlfriends” (of which only a handful have appeared so far) quite entertaining. Because here they apparently thought: Let’s just take all the stereotypes and crank them to the maximum.
For example, Inda Karane is a tsundere in pure form – to the point that she probably outshines all previous ones. The infamous “I-I don’t like you or anything, B-Baka!” is practically every other sentence of hers, although each time adapted to a new situation. On one hand, that’s really blunt, but on the other hand, it’s so ridiculous that I couldn’t help but grin at times.
So I can certainly derive some good aspects from the series.
Don’t ask how this situation came about. You don’t want to know.
However, my grin quickly faded when the number of female characters increased. Because in between, I really wondered what kink hell I had landed in.
At some point, the chairwoman of the “Chemistry Club” joins them, who brewed a potion that transforms her otherwise (very, very ample body) into that of a small child. Oh, and she also wears diapers because she always forgets everything at work.
When I reached that episode, I had to pause, stare at my living room ceiling for five minutes, rethink all my relevant life decisions, and then delete the series from my watchlist, my history, and the collective memory of humanity. I’m still working on that last point.
But luckily, Crunchyroll had more for me.
When good series are copied very poorly
I like romance stories. If they are entertaining, the story doesn’t even have to lead far. This eternal “Will they get together or not?” can become tiresome at some point, but as long as the characters are convincing and interesting, I can easily go through a season. The parallels begin with the character design of Runa, who is simply a visual knock-off of Marin. It even goes so far that in many scenes and perspectives, you get the impression that the creators have directly borrowed from Dress-Up Darling.
However, this is undermined by the fundamentally and permanently worse animation quality and the lack of character depth.

Because where Marin has interests, preferences, strengths, weaknesses, and interesting peculiarities, Runa is mainly limited to 3 “character traits” that all appear in Episode 1:
She is pretty.
She sleeps with any guy who confesses his love to her, as long as she is currently single.
She jumps in bed with every guy right on the first date because she sees it as her duty to keep the relationship alive.
Honestly, Runa is still the more interesting of the two characters, because Ryuuto is a flat character even for the typical male anime protagonist.
I’m used to one-dimensional and mentally challenged male protagonists by now, but the “hero” of this series can’t say a single sentence without stuttering when he talks to his “girlfriend” in the first 6 episodes. For the first time in the history of anime, I felt the urge to hit the “Mute” button on the TV as soon as the guy opens his mouth.
The icing on the cake – literally – is an episode where the two play a kind of airsoft match with other friends. I think that was animation-wise the worst thing I’ve seen this year and came close to “Still image with Paint animations”.
Along with the already non-existent story, that led me to also have to abandon this series, and I probably will never find out how it ends. Probably just like all the other series of this kind: Pretty much exactly where it started.
There was still one more series left to kill the rest of the morning…
I like characters who have hit “rock bottom”, meaning they are at their physical and mental end after a nervous breakdown or traumatic experience, and now must fight their way back up. Accordingly, I was quite taken with the beginning of “I Got A Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too” – even though the absurd name should have warned me.
In the first episode, the protagonist Yuuya gets beaten up after he tried to help a girl in distress. Bleeding, physically and mentally broken, he drags himself home.
That’s why I liked the first episode, as I thought it could be the beginning of a story with similar brutality and tension, like with Re:Zero. A story of a desperate character slowly working his way up.

The series has surprisingly strong animation and drawing quality – but that’s unfortunately all.
The tension in such series actually arises because the protagonists are presented with challenges that they must overcome.
Sure, there are parodies of the theme, like “One Punch Man” – but that is purely intentional and specifically framed to be funny.
In Cheat Skill, that is completely missing. There are no hurdles or problems. The series awkwardly tries to be serious. The protagonist goes from 0 to 100 completely overpowered and breezes through every fight without any problems. The only difficulty he has is that he doesn’t have enough arms to juggle all the women that come flying at him now that he is attractive – which incidentally also paints a super-strange picture of women, even for the already low anime standards.
Cute girls in dozens must not be missing, of course.
I can understand the appeal of series where the hero is suddenly a woman magnet and super strong. But when the conflicts are so trivially trivial that the most exciting question every episode is “Which woman will try to seduce him today?”, then the isekai genre has really been exhausted.
What particularly shocked me about this is that the animation quality of the series is noticeably good – there is real “production value” behind it, which is completely wasted on the thin and boring story.

I have played ARK: Survival Evolved (ASE) for several thousand hours and thought the idea of experiencing the game again in Unreal Engine 5 was a good one from the start. After all, I am a fan of the title.
However, my mood darkened quickly when the UE5 upgrade suddenly was supposed to cost the price of a full game, there was no trailer for a long time, and the exclusive partnership with Nitrado was announced. Additionally, only a fraction of the ASE content is included in the game at launch.
Nevertheless, I bought ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) right at launch and have now formed an opinion on whether the purchase was worth it. You will find out my conclusion in the following lines.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
ARK Survival Ascended has some strengths, like its predecessor, that encounter a lot of problems. In my opinion, the greatest strength of the game is the new graphics. ARK has never looked so beautiful. Sure, there are still much prettier games, but the quality of the water and the dinosaurs is really good.
However, this is also where the biggest problem of the game lies, as the beauty comes at a high price: performance. The game runs slightly better now than at launch, but there is definitely more room for improvement.
You can increase the FPS with the right settings, but if I have to lower the graphics so much that the game loses its beautiful appearance and looks ugly again, I might as well continue playing ASE. That currently has more content and mods anyway.
The performance is still far from the level one would wish for, even on mid to high-end PCs. My PC reaches about 60-70 FPS on medium settings. I cannot imagine having fun with the game on an older system. I also played ASA on the default settings and already got a headache after 2-3 minutes with just under 20 FPS.
Aside from Performance, a Good Game with Meaningful Improvements
I believe that most people have now picked up on the tedious topic of performance. Therefore, I want to talk about how good ASA is aside from the technical side.
The survival game has received some nice quality-of-life improvements compared to ASE. Sometimes they are just little things, like the Dung Beetle can now collect dung on its own and is no longer dependent on you placing it in its inventory.
But it is exactly these little things, these inconspicuous changes to old creatures, devices, or actions, that make the game so much better. Additionally, ASA finally allows console players to play with mods. I have already raved about this in an older article, and I still believe that every console player should try mods.
Conclusion: Is ARK: Survival Ascended Recommendable?
