Almost 10 years after the release of No Man’s Sky, the developers are bringing an unexpected update. Not only fans are puzzled, but the Steam hit Palworld has responded to the update.
What kind of update is this? The developers at Hello Games have released the next major update for No Man’s Sky. The update is called Xeno Arena and brings a lot of monsters into the space adventure that you can train, breed, and ultimately battle with (nomanssky.com).
Over 100 different abilities are promised, which can deal damage, heal, or cause status effects. Additionally, your monsters gain experience to unlock genetic mutations. All of this somewhat resembles Pokémon or Palworld, but fans are wondering if the developers are running out of ideas.

Fans are puzzled by the update, Palworld joins in
What are the fans’ reactions? On X, the update was presented by Sean Murray, the founder of Hello Games. The top comment with over 100 likes was posted by X user Henry VIII. He wrote: “Are you running out of ideas? I really hope you’re working on something better than that.”
Several fans of No Man’s Sky agree with him and write that they would have preferred different content, such as new spaceships or more interaction in deep space. Others write that players should not complain about a free update and that the content looks like a nice addition to the base game.
Even Palworld is puzzled: The creature-collecting and survival game Palworld has also taken notice of the new update. Due to the suspicious similarities to Palworld, the official X account writes: “Wait a second…”
However, this should come as no surprise, as according to gamesradar.com, the developers are big fans of Pokémon and Palworld. Additionally, Sean Murray describes the update as its own multiplayer game, providing a lot of depth to the game, all within No Man’s Sky.
