After a successful Early Access, the new RPG from a Polish studio launches on Steam and console. This sends players into a dark reinterpretation of the Arthurian legend in a grim fantasy setting.
What kind of game is this? It is the open-world RPG “Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon” from the Polish studio Questline, which will be released today – on May 23, 2025 – on Steam, PS5, and Xbox.
The game has been in Early Access since March 30 and has already convinced many players. On Steam, it currently has a very positive rating (86% of the 4,566 user reviews are positive), which clearly shows the players’ anticipation.

What do we know about the story? The story of Tainted Grail is a dark reinterpretation of the Arthurian legend, whose world is trapped in an eternal autumn and presents familiar legends in a different, new light (or new darkness). For this, the game offers the opportunity to make various decisions and thus reach different endings.
Players follow in the footsteps of King Arthur and attempt to unveil the mysteries surrounding his legend and the kingdom. Meanwhile, a chaotic force returns to the world, making survival even more difficult – in addition to the many foes, cults, and a hostile environment.
What is the mood around the game? The anticipation for the release is evident in the comments under the trailer on YouTube and the Steam reviews:
