Defeated enemies should be looted in Baldur’s Gate 3 to possibly obtain the next powerful item. Every player knows that. Now, a beginner has defeated the “devil” and wondered why the loot could also belong to one of his companions.
What happened to the player? After two days with Baldur’s Gate 3, a newcomer shared his experience with the community on Reddit. While he was playing the first act of the role-playing game in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, he was asked by his companion and warlock Wyll if he could defeat the devil Karlach.
He trusted Wyll, whom the player describes as a good and heroic character, as well as the paladins
of Tyr (who is ultimately a good god), and set off to defeat Karlach. After the battle, which ended after a long night, the player went to sleep and looted the body the next day.
“I suspect that she is some minor companion”
After the Reddit user looted Karlach, he noticed several items that were also present in his companions’ inventory. Particularly, the scroll of resurrection caught his attention. He shared with the community: “I suspect that she is some minor companion.”
If you haven’t guessed it yet: Karlach is one of the main companions in Baldur’s Gate 3, who has her own story and can experience the adventure with you. By the way… Karlach can even fight without a head.
The community warns about spoilers: The community naturally warns about spoilers and advises him to leave the subreddit and continue playing the game. Other users suggest to revisit the spot with Karlach in a different playthrough.
A story about another deceased companion was also shared. The user beantoess_ remembers his friend, who completed the entire game without the wizard Gale, as the portal from which Gale reaches out was too scary.
Besides Karlach or Gale, there are other companions like the vampire Astarion. He is so popular that he is getting a backstory as a novel set before the events in Baldur’s Gate 3. The author goes by T. Kingfisher and has already received several awards for her works: Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3 will soon conquer BookTok, getting a novel from a strong fantasy author
