The developers of Scars of Honor have presented the extensive graphic revamps for the Free2Play MMORPG. With this, they emphasize their aim to release a game that can compete with the giants of the genre, despite the failed Kickstarter campaign.
What improvements does Scars of Honor receive? The Free2Play MMORPG from Beast Burst has undergone a comprehensive graphic overhaul:
- The textures of the game world have been improved to make the world more detailed.
- All character models are now more detailed, and the race of Orcs has been modernized.
- The MMORPG now has completely new lighting.
- There are new and improved animations for faces and movements.
- Players have more customization options for their characters.
- The user interface has been optimized.
You can watch the presentation of the new assets in the one-and-a-half-hour video starting at minute 19:11 on Youtube. With this comprehensive graphic overhaul, the developers aim to lay the foundation to compete with all MMORPGs on the market upon release in one or two years.
The industry is struggling, Scars of Honor is growing
What else has been announced? The developers appeared in good spirits, as the project is on the right track despite the failed Kickstarter campaign in March.
- From the former solo project of Creative Director Venelin Vasilev, a large studio has now emerged, comprising more than 70 employees – and the team continues to grow.
- The new Discord channel has been well received, with more than 10,000 interested individuals already registered there.
- More than 120,000 MMORPG enthusiasts have now created an account for Scars of Honor via the website.
- The developers also intend to publish humorous Machinima videos, with the first Realm Report from Aragon News Network recently released (via Youtube).
With this positive development, the team of Scars of Honor is resisting a difficult phase for the entire gaming industry, during which many publishers and developers have had to halt projects, close studios, and lay off employees.
What else do I need to know about Scars of Honor? The development of “Scars of Honor” began in 2021. The first assets looked so much like World of Warcraft that the MMORPG was quickly branded by some players as “a cheap WoW clone for PC and Mobile”.
The developers promise a “Free2Play model” without Pay2Win. There are to be ten classes and eight races. A localization for German is also planned. Key features include scalable dungeons, raids, guild halls, diplomacy, large PvP battles, and in-game land ownership. You can learn more here: New MMORPG aims to bring back the golden age with WoW
