The horror-comedy “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” from 1988 is becoming the namesake multiplayer game. You play as a clown or a human and compete in a 3v7 format.
During gamescom 2022, the developers Teravision showcased the trailer for “Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game” for the first time and announced the multiplayer game. It is released in collaboration with Randy Greenback, the Director of Friday the 13th: The Game, which no longer receives updates.
Now they are taking another cult film from the 80s, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and turning it into a game.
An alien invasion full of clowns who want to harvest you
What kind of game is this? In Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, you play as a clown or a human: Either you are one of the three clowns who come to Earth during an alien invasion and oppress humanity, or you are one of the survivors trying to fight against the clowns.
- As survivors, you are seven in total, must hide from the clowns, and fight them with weapons. You can find loot and weapons all over the city. Your goal is to stop the invasion, or at least to survive.
- Those who choose to be clowns play in a trio and hunt humans. You use crazy weapons for this. You plan an alien invasion to eventually harvest the population.
Within the city of Crescent Cove, there are different maps where you compete against each other.

Who might be interested? If you enjoy games like Dead by Daylight or Propnight, you should take a closer look at Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game. While the gameplay is different, the game principle is similar. The new kill animation in DbD is not for the faint of heart.
Of course, fans of the old cult film will also get their money’s worth. You will surely recognize some elements of the horror-comedy.
When will the game be released? There is no exact release date yet. However, we can gather from the official Steam page that the horror game will be released in early 2023.
