Two brothers send you fishing at sea in their latest game on Steam. Horror fans may already know the two.
Who are these developers? If you enjoy horror games on Steam, you may have been recommended one or more games by Chilla’s Art. Behind this name are two brothers from Japan who develop small but highly atmospheric horror games together.
The games created by the two brothers stand out as they use everyday scenarios for their horror stories. This can be a night shift in a café, a nighttime train ride, or a streamer dealing with a stalker.
Umigari, the new horror game by Chilla’s Art, starts as a rather ordinary fishing trip. For the Steam Next Fest, there is now a free demo of Umigari if you want to take a look at the game yourself. A trailer is also available.

Strange but recommendable fishing trip
What is the game about? Umigari sends you to the foggy waters off the coast of Japan. Equipped with a harpoon, you catch fish to sell them later. With the money, you buy fuel for your boat and upgrades for your equipment.
However, out at sea, you will encounter not only fish – even they become stranger over time.
How is the demo received? The mix of fishing and horror is already well received in the demo. Although it only has 96 reviews so far, 94% of them are positive.

- User observingentity is cautiously optimistic in his Steam review: “[…] aside from all the bugs, I believe this could become something”
Technically, there seem to be particularly severe frame rate drops in one area of the game. Additionally, one player reports that the end of the demo appears to be bugged (according to a Steam review).
The majority of reviews agree that Chilla’s Art delivers strongly with Umigari again. When the finished game will be released is still unknown. However, the demo will be playable until Monday, October 20 at 7 PM Central European Summer Time (CEST).
