For a quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need a Tracktail Lizard. MeinMMO will tell you where to find the beast and complete the quest “Dareel’s Research Report”.
Why is the Tracktail Lizard important? In Monster Hunter Wilds, there is an optional quest called “Dareel’s Research Report”: For the quest, you are to catch a Tracktail Lizard in the Wind Fields. You can access the quest after completing the main story chapter 1–4. However, the lizard is not so easy to find if you don’t know where to look.
MeinMMO explains where you can find the beast and also complete the quest.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Finding and Catching the Tracktail Lizard
You need to catch the Tracktail Lizard in the Wind Fields. There are especially two locations where you can find the lizards with high probability.
The problem with the lizards is that they are not particularly large and blend in with the sand they appear in. This makes the search a bit more complicated than it needs to be.
The best locations:
- You can find the lizards in area 11 of the Wind Fields. If you travel quickly to the groundwater vein in area 14, you can find a lizard near the entrance.
- If you travel directly east from the oasis in area 13, you will also find several Tracktail Lizards on the hillside.
- Two more lizards can be found north of the oasis in area 13.
However, be aware that the weather plays a role: As long as a sandstorm rages, you cannot find the Tracktail Lizard and you have to wait until the weather is clear and sunny again.
Tip: Watch for tracks in the sand that look like the footprint of a larger beast. These are made by the tail of the lizard when it sits upright on them.
