Monster Hunter Wilds: Finding and Catching Goldenfish

In Monster Hunter Wilds you can catch the Goldenfish. MeinMMO explains where you can find the fish and what you need for it.

In the base camp, you will receive the side quest “The Search for the Goldenfish” from Kanya during Chapter 4. To complete the quest, you need to catch one of the mentioned fish.

Monster Hunter Wilds: The best locations for the Goldenfish

Here you can find Goldenfish: Goldenfish prefer calm waters in places without sunlight. You need to find a body of water in a cave.

You can find the Goldenfish in the following areas:

• Windebene
• Karminwald
• Ölquellbecken
• Eissplitterklippen

Which is the best spot? One place that is particularly worthwhile is the underground lake in the Karminwald, which you can find at number 8 on your map. There is also such a body of water in area 12, right next door:

Another good spot is at number 14 on the Windebene. There is also an underground water body in the east.

How to safely catch the Goldenfish

To catch the Goldenfish, you will need either your fishing rod or the net. The rest happens very quickly, and the fish ends up in your inventory.

Good to know: By the way, at the beginning of the quest, you will receive a special bait from Kanya that makes it much easier to catch Goldenfish.
