If you’re looking for really good JRPGs, you should strike now on Steam. Almost all games related to Final Fantasy are currently available at a low price.
A few weeks ago, the final part of the remake of Final Fantasy VII was announced. If you still have gaps in your collection and just want to dive into the worlds of various “Final Fantasy” titles, now is the perfect opportunity. Because most of the series’ games are currently heavily discounted on Steam.
Which games are currently on offer? On Steam, the “Final Fantasy Franchise Sale” is taking place, where basically all games are discounted. Here is just a small excerpt of the offers:
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade is currently only €13.99 (instead of €39.99).
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth costs €19.99 (instead of €49.99).
- The classic Final Fantasy IX is available for €6.29 (instead of €20.99).
- The bundle of Final Fantasy X and X-2 in HD Remaster is available for €9.99 (instead of €24.99).
No Final Fantasy is the best, but most are extremely good
Which Final Fantasy is “the best”? Answering this question clearly would probably lead to wild discussions in the comments. Which Final Fantasy one considers to be the best largely depends on which one one grew up with.
- The original Final Fantasy VII is considered a milestone of the JRPG genre and even nearly 30 years after release, it is a worthwhile, albeit older, gaming experience.
- Final Fantasy IX has a huge scope, and you can easily spend over 100 hours in the game and still not find all the secrets.
- Final Fantasy X also has a high status, as it was the first FF for the PlayStation 2 with a completely new visual splendor.
- The remakes of Final Fantasy VII, namely Integrade and Rebirth, are also highly praised.

Cortyn says: Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with any of the Final Fantasy titles – except maybe with XV, but that’s just my personal opinion. I didn’t like the road trip at all and it’s the only Final Fantasy that just didn’t suit my taste. However, I associate good memories with the XIII trilogy, namely XIII, XIII-2, and XIII-3, which are often ridiculed by many. I also consider Final Fantasy XVI to be amazing because it is rougher and more brutal.
If you currently have a few euros left and are looking for a nice JRPG again, I personally think you should first play the classics like VII, IX, or X, which are still good games today. Only those who feel deterred by older graphics or are looking for something more action-oriented should go directly for XVI or the remakes. But that’s the beauty of the Final Fantasy series – there’s something for absolutely every taste. You just have to give it a chance. And that’s particularly easy when prices are as low as they are right now.
