In League of Legends, the new PsyOps event is starting soon, where you can earn special skins, as well as hidden missions and icons. We at MeinMMO will tell you what exactly is happening at the event and how to get the rewards.
What kind of event is this? The PsyOps event starts on September 3rd at 10:00 PM and replaces the currently ongoing “Spirit Blossom” event. If you haven’t yet engaged with Spirit Blossom, you need to hurry up.
Through the PsyOps event, a new Battle Pass, new missions, and several new skins will be released. These will appear spaced out over patches 10.18 and 10.19. Additionally, there will be free and hidden loot that you can earn. This includes two new icons and Hextech keys. We will tell you how exactly in the course of the guide.
During PsyOps, you can also use the popular mode “One for All”, where all members of the team play exactly the same champion.
How to get the “Black Rose” and PsyOps icon
If you don’t want to buy a new Battle Pass or skin, you can currently earn 2 icons and other free items.

You can already receive these icons and items now, before the event starts, by unlocking hidden missions.
To get the PsyOps icon, you need to do the following:
- Play 5 consecutive games with a PsyOps champion. These include: Sona, Ezreal, Shen, Master Yi, and Vi. You can freely switch between the champions, and you can choose to play regular matches or against bots in the Summoner’s Rift. This will automatically unlock the icon.
- At the same time, a new mission starts named “Operation: Songbird Extraction”, where you have to play 5 games with one of the champions mentioned above while having the icon active. This mission rewards you with a Hextech chest and a key for it.
To get the Black Rose icon, you need to do the following:
- Play 5 consecutive games with a Black Rose champion. These include: Pyke, Zed, Viktor, or Kayle. You can freely switch between the champions, and you can choose to play regular matches or against bots in the Summoner’s Rift. This will unlock the icon.
- Here too, a mission starts, this time called: “Operation: Songbird Security”. Again, you have to play 5 games with the icon activated and as a reward, there is again a Hextech chest along with a key.
It is possible that new missions will be added with the start of the event. However, it could also be that the events disappear, so you should ideally complete them before the start on September 3rd at 10:00 PM.
11 new PsyOps skins
What new skins are there? A total of 11 new skins will be introduced through the event, with 6 appearing with patch 10.18 and 5 later on. The first skins are:
- PsyOps Sona
- PsyOps Vi
- PsyOps Shen
- PsyOps Master Yi
- PsyOps Ezreal
- PsyOps Ezreal – Prestige Edition
- Hextech Ziggs

During the event, skins for Kayle, Pyke, Viktor, Zed, and the new champion Samira, whose skills we now know, will be released. These are expected to be skins matching the theme of “Black Rose”.
What else is in the shop? In addition to the skins, there will be new loading screen banners, icons, chromas, and more content in the PsyOps event shop. We will also add the details later.
What is in the Battle Pass? Along with the PsyOps event, there will be a new Battle Pass. It contains additional missions, rewards in the form of orbs and Hextech chests, as well as prestige points for the skin of Ezreal.
The pass will cost approximately 1,250 RP, like the passes before it. The pass is required if you want to have the prestige skin.
