In Elden Ring: Nightreign you can play a bird that swoops down on its enemies like an armoured angel from above

FromSoftware gives another class in Elden Ring: Nightreign its own trailer. This time it’s the Guardian: A bird-man who protects his allies in shining armor like an angel and attacks enemies from above.

What kind of trailer is this? It introduces the Guardian in under a minute. He is one of the 8 playable Nightfarers. These essentially determine your class in Elden Ring: Nightreign.

The trailer provides a first glimpse into the Guardian’s moveset and his role:

A flying tank with special abilities

How does the Guardian play? He is a classic tank who combines heavy (but slow) attacks with strong defense. The Guardian typically fights with a halberd and a large shield. 

• Thanks to his passive skill, the Guardian can block heavy attacks with his large shield without his defense being breached.
• With his halberd, the Guardian creates a whirlwind that flings opponents into the air.
• Thanks to his ultimate ability, the Guardian uses his wings and soars into the sky, only to dive down again with a powerful strike.

As a Guardian, you may not deal the most damage. Instead, you will ensure that enemies stay away from your more fragile allies.

How are the reactions to the trailer? It has been received very well so far, although some in the comments on YouTube would have preferred to see the Executor or Revenant.

The bird-knight already exudes a peculiar charm – and he even seems to be educated. At least it looks like he can read, which surprises some (and many do not want to accept).
