Your group’s reputation in Baldur’s Gate 3 can be crucial for your financial success or downfall, and not everyone is on your side. Therefore, a task in the third act should be completed particularly quickly, before you regret it.
Which mission is being referred to? In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are a few newspaper boys at several street corners, often children, who want to sell the latest issue of the local newspaper “Baldur’s Mouth Gazette”. As it turns out, an article is to be printed for this newspaper that you should prevent as quickly as possible – because it puts you in a very bad light.
If this article circulates before you can stop the press, it will quickly impact your finances. Because merchants will be negatively inclined towards you and will demand more gold for their products.
To stop this, you must go to the printing house to take control of your public image. One player provides an accurate tutorial on how you can best accomplish this with the least hassle.

Enthrone the entire city in your favor as unnoticed as possible
How should you proceed best? You can not only stop the article about you, but also change it to your advantage. The city must not only see you neutrally, but as “the heroes worth doing business with”. And that’s exactly what you can achieve without being noticed.
- Head to the Baldur’s Mouth Gazette building (south of the Elfsong Tavern) and teleport/fly/jump onto the roof left of the entrance. If you break a barricade there, you can sneak into an elevator unnoticed.
- Take the elevator to the basement and make yourself invisible, either through a spell or a potion. This way, you can sneak past the steel guardians unnoticed.
- From there, you can already hear the printing press, which is operated by a pixie. If you have already helped the pixie Dolly in the second act, she will immediately be willing to help you. If not, some persuasion will be necessary.
- In the basement, you will find several boards with printable articles that you need to replace with the one containing the negative article. The following boards give you a positive reputation:
- “Adventurers, our greatest hope for the city” (in a basket in the basement)
- “Earn a lot of money trading with adventurers” (in a basket in the basement)
- “Celebrate the brave heroes who killed General Ketheric” (upstairs, in a basket behind Ettvard the editor-in-chief – beware, he might not like you.)

Judging by the comments, there are plenty of players who have never heard of this mission, and even if they have, did not know that with good success, they can also achieve positive and especially lucrative results.
