The rumors have been confirmed, the next hero of Heroes of the Storm will be the primal Zerg Dehaka. We have the details.
The primal Zerg Dehaka strikes from the bushes
Fans did not have to wait long to deduce the next hero of Heroes of the Storm from the teaser screenshots. The first speculations have clearly been confirmed, as the primal Zerg and warrior Dehaka from StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm will soon enter the battlefield.
A small preview was made possible by the Brazilian website Omelete, which had an exclusive look at the newcomer.
We take a quick look at Dehaka’s abilities:
- The passive ability Essence Collection allows Dehaka to collect essence from slain minions and heroes. At the press of a button, this is consumed and restores a portion of his HP.
- With Burrow, Dehaka can temporarily tunnel into the ground and become immune to damage. He is then in a “stasis” state, rendering him immune to all control effects – but he cannot attack.
- The Macabre Swarm creates a deadly aura around Dehaka, dealing damage to all enemies in close proximity.
- With Drag, Dehaka snaps his tongue out and can “pull” enemies for a short time to bring them to a new position.
- The first heroic ability Isolation applies various negative effects to a hero. He becomes slowed, silenced, his vision radius is dramatically reduced, and he can no longer see his allied teammates.
- The second heroic ability Adaption restores a large part of the damage taken after 5 seconds, making it a powerful self-heal.
It is also worth mentioning that Dehaka does not have a mount. Instead, he can burrow to any bush or vent (basically the same – just a different “flair”) every 40 seconds.
So far, there is no fixed release date for Dehaka, but fans expect that he will appear in 2 weeks. This would perfectly close the existing gap between the last hero Xul and the upcoming Tracer.
