Broken statues
Many players might know them from the main part of Elden Ring: The large stone statues in the world that stand out especially due to a bigger, glowing crack. They can also be found in Nightreign and promise rare loot.
To destroy them, you have to attack them with your ultimate ability or lure a boss to them so that it attacks them as well.
Use upgrade stones wisely
On your expeditions, if you are attentive, you will encounter many merchants. You can recognize them by the ghostly figure at the campfire. The handy thing about them is: They not only sell useful items that buff or heal you, but you can also purchase upgrade stones at level 1 to enhance your weapons.
You can use them directly, as each merchant has a ghostly anvil nearby, where you can directly enhance your weapons, so the upgrade stones do not need to take up inventory space.
Upgrade stones level 2, which you need to further enhance the weapons, are usually obtained from bosses, preferably in the mines.
Open sorcerer’s towers
You also get powerful loot in sorcerer’s towers. These are usually magically sealed on the outside or inside, and you need to create a seal to open them. You can recognize the barrier by large blue crystals.
If the barrier is inside the tower, it’s easier to find the seal, as there are basically only 2 different places where it can be:
- If the candle by the wall is out, the seal is near there. Attack the candle to uncover the seal.
- If the candle is lit, look for two statues on each side of the crystal. Attack them and the seal will be revealed.
Outside, it’s harder to find the seals when the barrier is already blocking your entrance to the tower. Because then it can be located at various spots around the tower:
- Above the entrance door
- Dead trees
- False door
- Platform
- Pond
- Shimmering trees
- Walking tree stump
- Structure protruding from the tower
Sometimes, it is not enough to just attack the spots, and you have to jump over or run through them. This may sound time-consuming, but it is usually very worth it.
Visit the lower level of the castle on day 2
On day 2, you can gain access to a secret room where you are guaranteed to find a chest with talismans. You just have to visit the lower level of the castle in the middle of the map and defeat the boss there.
This is particularly worthwhile because you can safely collect or exchange talismans there if they suit your builds better.
