In Hearthstone , the Android version for tablets is likely coming out this week. This was mentioned in an interview with game designer Ben Brode.
The developers of Hearthstone were invited to an interview with Shacknews on Sunday. They discussed, among other things, the Android version for tablets. It is supposed to be released in December, but it might be quite tight. After all, the holidays are just around the corner.
Ben Brode, Senior Game Designer on Hearthstone, responded: “Yes, the plan is still December. We don’t have that many days left in December, so it should happen very soon. I don’t know the exact date yet.”
Yes, the plan is still December. We don’t have that many days left in December, so it should be sometime really soon. I don’t know the exact date.
It therefore looks like Hearthstone will be released this week for Android tablets, unless Blizzard really wants to deal with the stress between Christmas and New Year.
More deck slots? Not for now
In the interview, the players’ desire for more space for storable decks was also discussed. Nine is too few for them. Especially since so many new cards have been added with “Goblins vs. Gnomes” that invite experimentation. However, players do not want to delete their “working decks” to make room for such an experimental deck.
Blizzard is cautious about fulfilling this request from advanced players. A more complex deck builder could be off-putting for newcomers. This is known from corresponding tests with beginners, who felt overwhelmed by a too complex interface and sought to leave. In the future, however, they might come up with something to fulfill the wishes of advanced players while not overwhelming newcomers.
But during our original playtests for Hearthstone we brought in brand new players. What we saw over and over again was that they would look at the Collection Manager, and say “look, I’m not sure this game is for me. It’s much too complicated, I never want to build a deck, this is just too much.”
More randomness? Brings good stories
In response to the accusation from pro players that too much randomness is entering the game with Goblins vs. Gnomes, the developers have a response. When you see the new cards in action, you notice how much fun players are having with them. Randomness and fun are often closely related and result in unique experiences and great stories.
Through randomness, new situations arise, players have to improvise, all of this brings fun and excitement to Hearthstone.
Recently, through a bug at Blizzard, a list of tablets surfaced, on which Hearthstone should run safely.
