The official Brazilian Classification Board has published a rating for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. Among the possible platforms listed is also the Xbox One.
What does the leak say? The colleagues from the news site Generacion Xbox have made an interesting find. The Brazilian authority for video game age ratings has given the upcoming addon FFXIV: Shadowbringers a rating.
Among the listed platforms for the game, the Xbox One also appeared. This would mean that the MMORPG will also be available on Microsoft’s console starting summer 2019.
What supports this? Since this is not an official announcement from Square Enix, there is of course the possibility that it is simply an error on the part of the Brazilian Rating Board. One should take the news with caution.
However, there are still several reasons that support the accuracy of the leak. The ratings from Classification Boards have leaked new releases multiple times in the past:
- Diablo 3: Eternal Collection was leaked, for example, by the
ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) website before the official announcement. - Players also learned about the PS4 version of Path of Exile through a Taiwanese Rating Board.
Another reason is the current division of European and American servers into new data centers. The launch of FFXIV on a new platform would mean a significant influx of new players for the MMORPG. With the server division, space would be created for these new players.

Director Yoshida himself has emphasized several times in recent years that he wants to release FFXIV on as many platforms as possible. The discussions with representatives from Microsoft and Nintendo are therefore steadily progressing.
So it would not be surprising if the Xbox One version of FFXIV is indeed within reach now.
