In H1Z1 it’s all about cars and problems.
The good and the bad are often closely connected. In a producer letter, the head of H1Z1 addressed the fans of the shooter part “King of the Kill.” Essentially, it can be summarized as “Guys, we have problems.”
Recently, the team announced that they would spend more time polishing and testing the content: The patches are full of bugs, and there is dissatisfaction. Some of the issues are now so severe that it would take too long to find a proper solution, so they are pulling the plug and disabling the features:
- Cars are flying through the air, and they have temporarily disabled them in the Box of Destiny. The Box of Destiny is the lobby for Battle Royale games.
- The fog is too foggy, so they’ve turned it off completely.
- The weapons are not working as planned, and the producer assures that they need to address this.
1 year after the launch in Early Access, the now two H1Z1 games still face numerous issues. The structural decision to polish the shooter part now and release it in summer, also for consoles, reveals how much fine-tuning is still needed.
On the other hand, players in H1Z1’s sandbox have designed their own “Autodrome.” Over more than 500 hours of gameplay, they’ve built this, which is damn impressive and closely resembles the vision of the game from 2014.
