With the start of the pre-orders for GTA 6, the beginning of the preloads was also announced. All important info can be found here at MeinMMO.
You can go directly to the answers you need through the table of contents:
When does the preload start?
You can pre-download GTA 6 starting November 10, 2026.
At what time does the preload start?
The preload will start on November 10, 2026, at the following times:
- PS5
- at 0:00 local time
- Xbox Series X|S
- at 1:00 CET
On which platforms is the preload available?
The preload will be available on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Once GTA 6 is released on PC, a preload for that version is also likely, although that will happen later.
How large is the preload?
You need about 212 GB of hard drive space for the preload.
Which edition do I need for this?
The preload applies to all editions. So it doesn’t matter whether you pre-order digitally or physically, or Standard or Ultimate.
Can physical version pre-order customers start earlier?
No, because the physical edition contains a download code. With that, you can pre-download the game, just like the digital versions, but you can’t start yet. The physical edition does not include a CD that can install the game.
What about you? Is a preload important to you so that you can start relaxed on release day? And what do you estimate the download size will be? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments! If you’re still deciding which version to pre-order, one aspect plays a particularly important role: GTA 6 costs 100 euros, at least if you want the full experience
