Where does GTA 6 take place? GTA 6 will take place in the fictional metropolis of Vice City, which was already the scene of events in the spin-off GTA: Vice City. The city is inspired by Miami in the US state of Florida and is characterized by a tropical climate.
Similar to Los Santos, the setting of GTA 5, there will also be a large sandy beach with a promenade and a vibrant nightlife in Vice City. However, much is not yet known about the design and size of Vice City.
How big will the map be? Rockstar Games confirmed to the New York Times that the map of GTA 6 will be three times the size of the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The YouTuber TGG, who was also invited by Rockstar North, explains that the map will be twice the size of that of GTA 5. The size of Vice City compared to Los Santos has also doubled.
Is there already a map to see? Officially, there is no image of the map of GTA 6 yet. However, there are some fan projects that have taken it upon themselves to construct the map in advance based on the current information. What did the map of Vice City in the predecessor look like? You can get a rough idea of what to expect from the map of GTA: Vice City. However, Vice City will be significantly larger and more ambitious in GTA 6.
What else is known about the map? Vice City will, similar to Los Santos in GTA V, be complemented by additional locations outside the city. In the predecessor, there was the desert town Sandy Shore, the mountain Mount Chiliad with the surrounding Paleto Forest, and the small town Paleto Bay bordering the forest.
