As you approach level 60 in WoW Classic Hardcore, a three-digit number of hours lies behind you without dying even once. In the Sauercrowd project, a Twitch streamer has now risked everything, even though he already had this goal in sight.
Which streamer is it about? Philipp “Kutcher” Traub (also known as kutcherlol) is an esports professional currently playing for Eintracht Spandau Zwei’s LoL team. However, there is little time for League of Legends at the moment. After all, the Sauercrowd event of the German Twitch scene is currently happening in WoW Classic Hardcore.
Kutcher is among the players who made it through the leveling phase the best. After a deadly encounter with Murlocs at level 16 in late 2025 (Source: Twitch) and critical moments in Tanaris and the Un’Goro Crater, the streamer was close to the first important milestone: level 60. But then he chose to take an extremely risky action …
Mak’gora – the duel of life and death
What did Kutcher do? Although the player was just a bar of experience points short of reaching level 60, Kutcher agreed to a Mak’gora. This is a duel of life and death that both duelists must agree to.
Whoever loses the duel does not revive with one hit point, but actually dies on the Hardcore server. Papaplatte watched the action in disbelief and commented on the risk Kutcher took with the duel as follows:
If he dies, his character is gone. That’s so stupid. […] It’s like Ronaldo playing one-on-one against Messi in football, and the one with the fewest goals just dies in the end. […] There are only two possibilities. Either he goes back to zero or he becomes immortal. It’s a hundred percent that one of them will die. One of them has crashed against the wall for 180 hours.

It is important to note that Kutcher is no newcomer to WoW or PvP. He brings some experience into the duel.
How does the duel end? Kutcher plays a mage with a frost specialization, while his opponent Schmudd is a level 60 rogue. These are two of the strongest duel classes in WoW Classic, with many factors determining who will ultimately emerge victorious.
In the duel, the rogue manages to reach his first target first and stun Kutcher with a headbutt. However, from the subsequent opening, the mage can blink away and turn his opponent into a sheep.
After the subsequent attack, the rogue tries to sprint to close the distance to the mage. But he lands in a frost nova. The next frostbolt lands critically. The next two instant casts end the duel in favor of Kutcher. RIP, Schmudd.
