In Genshin Impact, you need Cor Lapis to upgrade certain characters and to craft various items. In this guide, we will reveal where you can find Cor Lapis.
Where can you find Cor Lapis? Cor Lapis is an ore that you can only find in the Liyue region. It is usually located in caves, mines, or mountainous areas. You can recognize them by the orange stones.
You can find most Cor Lapis around the Qinyun Peak. But there are also plenty of spots to collect the ore. The most effective farming route starts at Mount Hulao, where you’ll find several ores right at the teleport point. Then you work your way east, then south, and then back west until you reach the area the Great Rift.
It is also helpful to include the character Qiqi in your team. She highlights materials from Liyue on the minimap with her passive ability.

How to best mine Cor Lapis? To mine the ore quickly, we recommend Geo attacks or a character with a claymore.
Are there other ways to get Cor Lapis? Yes. Changshun, a merchant from Liyue Harbor, sells you 3x 5 Cor Lapis daily for Mora.
There is also the merchant Qiuwei in Port Ormos, who also sells Cor Lapis.
You need Cor Lapis to upgrade characters and for the Geo Treasure Compass
What is Cor Lapis used for? Cor Lapis is an upgrade material for the three characters Chongyun, Keqing, and Zhongli. You definitely need to collect the material for that.
Additionally, there are five items for which you also need the ore to craft:
- The Geo Treasure Compass: This allows you to locate chests in Liuye.
- Geoculus Resonance Stones: With this resonance stone, you can locate a Geoculus in your surroundings.
- Yellow Paint: This is needed for crafting decorations in your Teapot of Eternity (Housing).
- Dust Repellent Potion: With this potion, you can increase your team’s Geo resistance by 20% for 300 seconds.
- Debris Oil: This potion increases your team’s Geo damage by 25% for 300 seconds.
