The last episode of Season 2 of Frieren aired on March 27, 2026. While Season 1 had 28 episodes, Season 2 only had 10 episodes. Therefore, fans are probably itching for the somewhat larger third season to follow. The first season aired from September 2023 to March 2024, and the second season from January to March 2026.
In Frieren, we accompany a very old elf sorceress who defeated the Demon King with her previous party. However, during the journey, she showed little interest in her human companions and deeply regrets not getting to know them better before their deaths.
Therefore, she sets out on a journey again, taking new companions with her to make up for her missed experiences. The ultimate goal is Aureole, a place in the End region where one can speak with the dead.
The special thing about Frieren is that all character and place names are in German, even in the Japanese original.

On X it was revealed that Season 3 of Frieren will premiere in October 2027. If it goes the same way as every previous season, Frieren will likely be released within the first two weeks of October.
Season 3 is expected to have more episodes than Season 2. It can also be assumed that there will be a weekly release schedule again. If Season 3 follows the 28 episodes of Season 1, it could even be that Frieren Season 3 spans over 2 cours (seasons).
