In Fortnite: Battle Royale there will soon be a skin of GrefG. Through the GrefG Cup, you can secure the outfit before it appears in the item shop. We will show you how to get the skin for free.
What is a skin? The Twitch streamer and YouTuber GrefG has received his own skin in Fortnite. This places him among the Icon Series, like Ninja and Loserfruit did back then.
With the reveal of the skin, GrefG even broke a record on Twitch with over 2 million viewers on his channel. The skin and the cosmetic set will be available in the item shop for players, but there is also a way to secure the outfit for free.
How to get the GrefG skin for free
To earn the skin for free, you must participate in the GrefG Cup. We will show you how to join and what conditions must be met.
When does the Cup take place? The tournament named “GrefG’s Hot Sole” will take place on 2 different dates. On both days, you will have the chance to earn the skin. The Cup takes place as follows:
- Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Team Tournament)
- Friday, January 15, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Solo Tournament)
During each 3-hour period, you will have to complete up to 12 matches of the “The Floor is Lava” mode. Instead of weapons, you will be equipped with a harpoon gun and must ensure that your opponents fall into the hot lava.
How to participate in the GrefG Cup
What do you need to do? During both tournament days, you will have the chance to unlock the skin. You can decide whether to participate in the team tournament (Thursday) or solo (Friday). However, anyone wishing to participate in the Cup must meet these conditions:
- Only for teams: All members must be present. You cannot enter as a solo, duo, or trio. You will need 4 team members.
- For everyone: You must have Two-Factor Authentication set up
What are the rewards?
What do you get for free? As mentioned, you can win the GrefG set. This includes an outfit, cosmetics, and an emote. Players who secure this in the tournament will receive it not only for free but also before all other players. The set includes:
- Outfit “TheGrefg”
- Pickaxe “Controller-Staff”
- Back accessory “Orbs of Power”
- Emote “Controller-Crew”
Only the top 800 teams of 4 will receive the skin set for free and before all others. For the solo tournament, only the top 3,200 players will receive the entire set for free.
Can the skin also be obtained outside of the tournament? If you don’t manage to place high enough in the tournaments, you still have a chance at the GrefG skin. The reward skin will appear in the item shop on January 17 and will then be available to all players. However, they will have to pay if they want it.
If you are not interested in the skin, you still have the chance to unlock outfits from the Battle Pass of Season 5. With a total of 7 skins, there will likely be one that suits your taste better.
