Fritz Meinecke (34) is really angry because a former participant of 7 vs. Wild is said to have stolen his project and is now going viral on YouTube. However, this person claims it was their idea from the beginning.
What format is it about? Currently, the format “Catch Me” is running on YouTube by “7 vs. Wild” participant Otto “OttoBulletproof” Karasch and outdoor professional “DerSebo.” The videos are going viral on YouTube and have already achieved around 800,000 and 500,000 views (as of 29.12.2023).
The idea is that the two outdoor professionals are dropped in the middle of nowhere with a map and must reach a certain point. They are chased by former police officers and ex-soldiers, whom they must evade.
The fugitives do not receive special equipment, but their pursuers are equipped with the latest technology, such as night vision devices. The pursuers are also allowed to move by car. To keep the series exciting, there is a Game Master who provides tips and introduces a bit of chaos.

Fritz Meinecke is angry because he feels his project has been stolen
What bothers Fritz Meinecke? Fritz Meinecke claims that he developed the “Catch Me” project. This allegedly happened together with the 7 vs. Wild co-founders Max and Johannes. On Instagram, he answers a question about whether he will react to the format and seems quite displeased.
The two outdoor experts would have played a role as fugitives or pursuers in the format. There are reportedly already several meetings regarding the project, during which documents that document the ideas for the project were supposedly created.
Due to the invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the team decided to put the implementation of the project on hold. Without further consultation, OttoBulletproof and DerSebo are said to have produced the project without the “7 vs. Wild” founder.
Meinecke continues: “I’m not a fan of such behaviors. I love ambition and people who follow through, but the question is whether you want to walk over corpses on your way or not. Everyone has to decide that for themselves.”

OttoBulletproof: “The idea for the project came from me.”
What does OttoBulletproof say about it? The survival expert is clear in his belief that he had the idea for the format. The former participant of 7 vs. Wild wants to prove this with email exchanges between himself and Fritz Meinecke.
The email exchange shows that Fritz Meinecke asked for ideas for joint videos and Otto then responded with an idea that resembles the “Catch Me” format. The email contact apparently took place on 17.12.2021, which is over two years ago.
The idea is said to be inspired by the “Combat Survival” course that OttoBulletproof supposedly underwent during his training with the Bundeswehr.
In a statement on Instagram, the outdoor YouTuber literally says:
The idea for this project came from me. What happened next (is): We brought Max and Johannes from Fritz’s team on board; you all know them from 7 vs. Wild, and they then got involved with me and Sebo in the detailed planning to make this thing film-ready.

Who is right? This cannot be answered definitively. While OttoBulletproof likely had the idea for the project, the “7 vs. Wild” co-founders Max and Johannes presumably developed it on behalf of Fritz Meinecke.
OttoBulletproof states in his statement on Instagram that the idea was made “film-ready” by Max and Johannes. Meinecke apparently feels overridden because the project is now taking place without him and it seems no further consultation was held with him.
