The fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has surpassed 4 million registered accounts and is offering a free week for veterans from Friday, February 27th to Monday, March 9th.
Final Fantasy XIV is a success story, even if the “active subscriber counts” are likely to be significantly below the now achieved landmark of 4 million. As is customary with Final Fantasy, after each “major” patch a free week is given so that former subscribers can check out what has been done (certainly in the hope that some will once again hop on the Chocobo).
This week came a substantial new piece of content with 2.51, which is now being showcased – and well, the “4 million mark” is happily being taken as an occasion. They would probably have offered the free week even if they were stuck at 3.8 million.
The promotion runs from Friday, February 27th at 9:00 AM until Monday, March 9th at 9:00 AM. To participate in the promotion, players must have purchased Final Fantasy XIV and registered an account at some point.
