Today, on August 5, 2025, Patch 7.3 of Final Fantasy XIV is released. MeinMMO summarizes the new features and what you need to know about the ongoing maintenance.
Update from August 5, 2025 – 11:55 AM: The maintenance is over and the servers and services are live! Have fun with Patch 7.3.
What do I need to know about the maintenance? In order to play Patch 7.3 on the servers of Final Fantasy XIV, maintenance has been taking place since 3 AM. It is expected to last until 12 PM. During this time, various services will be unavailable:
- Travel between data centers
- World transfer service
- Character renaming
- Input of item codes/gift codes
- Companion app

Packed package for the finale of Dawntrail
What comes with Patch 7.3? The update titled “The Promise of Tomorrow” concludes the story of the current expansion Dawntrail. Additionally, you can expect a first glimpse of upcoming adventures.
Apart from the continuation of the main scenario, various other new features await you. Here are the highlights:
- Alliance raid – Echoes from Vana’diel (Part 2), San d’Oria: The second stage: A dimensional rift that connects two worlds that should never have come into contact… Right there, deep in the forest of Yak T’el, Sareel Ja continues to relentlessly pursue his dark plots. Now it is up to the Warrior of Light to make a second attempt to put this haunting to an end.
- Dungeon – The Meso System: A gigantic tombstone adorned with the golden visage of an Eternal Queen stands at the center of the once lively memory: the Meso System. An endless afterlife where the memories of so many past lives are stored.
- Trial – Zel Tajaal: In his hunt for Calyx, the genie of preservation, a new threat confronts the Warrior of Light – created from the darkness in hearts!
- Dream trial – Seiryu: The articulate Sotan tells a story of immortal revenge, reminiscent of Seiryu and his hated enemy. The encounter, marked by rage, comes to life once again with the powerful dragon.
- Treasure hunt – Treasure Oneiron: In the Living Memory, the famous Treasure Oneiron finally opens its gates again. Engage in a game and dive into the depths of dreams!
- PvP – Crystalline Conflict updates: The Crystalline Conflict will be expanded with an arena: the coastal battle!
- Speech bubble feature: With the new speech bubble feature, you can now display chat entries above your character’s head for an even more immersive exchange!

What is not included with Patch 7.3? Some content of the new patch level will only come with subsequent patches. This includes the phantom weapons (Patch 7.31), new content for cosmic exploration (Patch 7.31), the pilgrim’s path for the Deep Dungeon (Patch 7.35), the Yok Huy quests (Patch 7.35), and the new adventure of Hildibrand (Patch 7.35).
