In FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, you can play a new mode: “FUT Moments.” It acts as an exciting addition and brings good rewards.
What kind of mode is that? The “FUT Moments” mode complements the FIFA 23 release the usual modes in Ultimate Team. It is a single-player mode where you play against the AI.
But: No complete matches, just quick tasks that last only a few moments. And it might be worth taking a look at it.
This is how the mode works: When you open the mode, you will find different “tiles” that contain multiple task sets. Inside, there are short gameplay situations that you need to complete.
- You select a task
- You jump directly into the flow of a match against the AI with your team
- At the top right, you see what you need to do
- You complete the tasks, but you have a limited amount of time for that
- If you succeed, the “FUT Moment” ends, and you return to the menu
Depending on the task set, the requirements may vary. A few examples:
- The set “Perfection on the Pitch” presents challenges where you can learn the gameplay better.
- A moments set revolves around the career of Kylian Mbappé. You get a loaned Mbappé to complete the tasks. Loan players do not lose contracts here.
- Another set focuses on the coaching career of Jürgen Klopp.
Depending on the set, you may need to adjust your teams partially to meet the requirements. Throughout the season, more tasks are expected to be added – possibly also those that are oriented directly to moments from real football.
What are the tasks? This can vary. There are super easy tasks like “Complete ten passes,” but also more demanding things where you have to score goals with the new power shot or combine techniques.
Especially the advanced tasks can become tricky. But generally, the rule is: You can jump in, complete a few tasks, and jump out again.
It is a completely different principle than in Division Rivals or the Weekend League and feels like the perfect mode “for a quick play”.
It somewhat resembles skill games, but you actually get something for it – because the rewards can be worth it.
This is how you get rewards in FUT Moments
Reward from FUT Moments in FIFA 23: For every task you complete, you earn moments stars. The more difficult the task, the more stars you can get. Additionally, there are bonus stars for completing sets.
You can redeem these stars directly for rewards in the moments store. It is located all the way on the left in the moments mode, next to the task tiles.
The advantage: You do not have to wait for a specific payout day as in Division Rivals or Squad Battles but can exchange your stars directly whenever you want.
What rewards are available? This can vary; the store seems to be season-bound and can bring new rewards. Generally, the rule is:
- There are different packs available in the store that you can get. The better packs cost more stars.
- Recently, coach items with Ted Lasso and Coach Beard from the series were added.
This is important: The rewards in the moments store are currently tradable, meaning they can be traded on the transfer market.
This means you have a good opportunity to completely earn packs with short gameplay tasks and then exchange the contents on the market for coins.
This can be worth it right now in the startup phase of FIFA 23 – even if the chances of top players are low.
Overall, FUT Moments seems like an exciting new addition in the FUT context, bringing a slightly different way to play to the forefront. It allows you to practice new mechanics while earning rewards almost on the side, and you play against the AI. This should also be of interest to newcomers.
